The Egg & I Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

With the lack of quality sit down breakfast restaurants in the area this place is a shining light. Delicious meal, even though very busy still had ample room and seating, and got us seated and served in a respectable amount of time. Server was very concerned with our satisfaction and served us well. Surroundings and ambience is very appealing. Especially the neighboring areas, which certainly makes it feel like are at home. Food was delicious and full of flavor. Looking forward to trying some of the other tasty looking menu items. Hearty portions. Will be looking forward to taking the family there again over other locations for a family sit down breakfast.

Awkward start. Hosts are welcoming and accomodating. Server was less than enthused to be working...ordered Parisian Benedict with a side of bacon. The bacon showed up like it was an appetiizer. Ha! I refused it. When my meal came out the same plate of bacon came out...cold. Fail! Sent it back. Second bacon came out cold. I was told it came straight out of the warmer. What?!?!? Cancelled bacon. The Parisian Benedict? Fabulous! Ham and Swiss on a croissant topped with perfectly poached eggs grilled mushrooms, and hollandaise. Yum!! Overall 3.4 stars...rounded down to 3. I'll try them again if I am in the area...but beware the bacon from the warmer.

The food is good, although a bit pricey. The problem is the way they handle their wait list. I have experienced several times now, that they get on a waitlist, but you look and they have 5-8 tables just aitting, set, ready to go, but they won't seat them due to their internal rules about server rotation. Other restaurants have developed systems to keep the seats filled, and they are more profitable than ha ing empty tables. I chalk it up to poor management.

This is so hard! I ordered the Greek salad (to go) and it was fantastic - dressing didn't seem bottled either. However, two friends in the group had orders that were incorrect and no napkins or forks came with our order. Also, when I came to pick it up, the hostess just seemed overwhelmed. While I liked my food, the mistakes and service were annoying to say the least. This will be an alternative only if the restaurants around it are overflowing.

I really enjoyed this place. Right off the bat, they serve water and sweet tea with a separate carafe for refilling. The service is very attentive and the food is served fresh and is excellent. The menu has a wide variety of items, including breakfast and lunch items. It would be cool if they added mimosas and bloody maries...might give them a 5 star eating. ;)

The food was decent and the service was okay. Waited a significant amount of time to just get silverware but it wasn't really that big of a deal since the waitress was kind. The portions of food were ok. I rarely eat breakfast, but when I do, I like to go to good breakfast diners an let loose. Don't expect pancakes or extras to come with the meal. Overall, good food.

We went there for Saturday brunch, waiting 30 mins to get a table and 30 mins to get our foods. My husband's soup was cold. Service was ok, foods was average.

Best best BEST breakfast in the area. I always get the biscuits and gravy. The service is great every time. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is that there's no alcohol (mimosas are the best part of breakfast, let's be honest) and it's pretty pricey for breakfast food. (About $15 per person depending on what you order). For that I'd rather go to a brunch place (World of Beer has bottomless mimosas and Bloody Mary's on Sunday) With that being said, I'll be back. It's 5 minutes from my house and that gravy is awesome.

Not a Fan. I had the corned beef and hash. I asked if it was chucks of Corned beef or like the one in the can. I was told they make everything fresh and it would be chunks. Well guess what came out....something that looked like it was from a can. I wouldn't have minded it had she said ours is fresh made but resembles the can style. Oh and boy was it salty. I couldn't even eat it! When I couldn't tell the server because after she took the order we didn't see her again till it was time for the check. Then getting the check was a whole other ordeal! Maybe it was just a bad day as it was Father's Day, but that's no reason to slack!

Not a fan of this restaurant. The food is average and honestly it's overpriced. The ambiance is nice and the service we had was great but we more than likely won't be back. I've found several non chains in the area that provide a better breakfast at less....

I had been excited to try this place for awhile now & today was my first try. I got a lunch combo & the turkey Apple sandwich was good & the Greek salad was alright. The person I was with got breakfast & her eggs were hard & look as if they were made way prior than our arrival. The manager was very friendly & understanding. I did like that they bring a carafe along with the drink. As for brunch places in this area I'll be sticky with the Brunchery.

Let me just get to the point here, okay. Do you like Eggs Benedict? I really like Eggs Benedict. When I say I really like it, I mean like if it's on a menu, buffet, or even an option for me I'm ordering it. The warm, creamy sauce and the marriage of flavors, just twerking all over your taste buds. GOSH!!! How can you not like Eggs Benedict man. It's vital to breakfast food and life in general. I ordered it here. I have a brief suspicion that they MICROWAVED MY ENGLISH MUFFIN. HAVE YOU EVER HAD A MICROWAVED ENGLISH MUFFIN? IT'S LIKE CHEWING A WARMED DISH SPONGE!! Like when you have to turn your neck to get a piece off. THAT'S A PARTY FOUL MAN!! This has to be some sort of return of karma. But, in order not to eat a chewy microwaved english muffin again, I'm living my life right from this point on. Free hugs for everyone and I'm volunteering at the animal shelter. I'm not even going to talk about anything else because my feelings are hurt that they made my favorite breakfast selection bad, when I was really hungry. That's rude. This is payback.

  • Dina R.

My 1st time here did not disappoint! The best Whole Wheat blueberry pancake ever!! It came with blueberry and warm maple syrup! Come hungry, I could only eat 1/2 since it comes with eggs and your choice of bacon or sausage. I had the chicken Apple sausage. Everything, including the service was delish!! Just wished they offered a non dairy milk alternative. Will be back soon!:)

It was a busy brunch morning and we only had a 10 minute wait . And boy was it worth it. For a place that has the word egg in the name I was expecting great eggs and they lived up to the expectations. But not just stopping there the rest of the dish was just as good as the eggs! A final good point in the meal was the fact that you get your own personal coffee carafe and are never waiting on refills. Worth the wait if you are in the area or even worth the drive over if you want a nice classic breakfast.

    (5)
  • Hope S.

Worth the wait. Staff is friendly, food good and restaurant is clean. Eggs were perfect which isn't always the case on a busy day. You won't leave here hungry!

  • Stephen H.

Great service and excellent, quality food. They actually have Arnold Palmer on the drink menu! Fresh avocado and really good salsa. Only a few small misses kept it from a fine star breakfast place

  • Diane H.

The service and food was not worth the wait....just go to "The Recipe Box" for the best breakfast in town.

We arrived as the establishment was becoming busy. We have driven by numerous times and the crowds have always deterred us from stopping. We ended up going because our favorite breakfast place, Ciccio Cali next door, didn't open until 10am on the weekend and we were strapped for time! We waited about 5 min before a server came over. We ordered for beef hash and eggs over medium with sour dough toast and my partner had the apple chicken sausage and eggs with fruit. Let's just say I regret now that we didn't wait for Ciccio to open. The food arrived after about 15 minutes. My eggs were cooked over hard, not over medium, meaning that the yolks were solid. The corn beef hash was luke warm and very salty and the sour dough toast was chewy and barely toasted. My partners meal was "so-so" according to him. Eggs were a bit runny. The server was sweet when we reported the deficiencies and was apologetic. The manager came over and was apologetic as well and offered us a drink to go. A drink to go??? Uh, not interested in that. Look, I don't complain because I want a free meal- I express my feelings so that they can correct the issues. The server returned having given me 50% off my meal as a courtesy. I did not ask for it, and it was nice of her to do so! Kudos for good customer service. I honestly do not understand why this place is always bustling and why Ciccio isn't. Perhaps because Ciccio is a bit more expensive but the food is FAR superior in every way. Well, we tried it but we won't be back. If you notice in my Yelping, we tend to visit many of the same places repeatedly, simply because when you know where to go for an amazing meal- you stick to that plan! Sometimes when you stray from certainty you get burned!

Against our better judgement my husband and I decided to give this place one more chance. When we lived in Colorado we went to The Egg & I almost every weekend, so I guess we're just having a hard time letting go. This time both the food and service were horrible. My husband and I each ordered one of the skillets. He got poached eggs and I got over easy. My eggs came out over medium and were edible. My meal wasn't good at all but it was edible. For some reason the food here always comes out luke warm. My husband's eggs came out really really overcooked. They were gross. He asked the waiter if he could get a different order of eggs, either poached or over easy, something that would be runny. After 10 minutes the waiter told us that the cooks were cooking the eggs. Meanwhile my husband's food is cold because he's been waiting. Another 5 minutes pass and we flag the waiter down and ask for the check. My husband hadn't touched any of his meal, it was cold, and still no eggs. The waiter never said a word, never asked if anything was wrong, didn't send a manager over...nothing. We paid for the meal that my husband didn't touch and left. The second we got home my husband cooked himself breakfast. I guess we should have done that from the start. We definitely won't be back again.

I guess when you have several reviews, you're bound to get a handful of people who give you a low score. My experience here? First off, it was definitely an upper-middle class type restaurant. Everybody has a proper haircut and was very well groomed and dressed. I like to judge places like this by how well the treat me..... a greasy, muscle bound, tattooed, beer belly, biker. And they treated me better than okay. And the food was excellent. The apple cinnamon pancakes were out of this world. And the service was great as well. Those who gave this place one star are obviously whiners and complainers.

I've been here several times and it is always good. The space is always clean and inviting. The staff is always more than accomodating. Whether it's just me and my hubby or a large group I've always found the servers to be very attentive and friendly even when they are really working hard to take care of our group. The food is good. They have a great selection of sweet and savory breakfast items as well as some light lunch items. My favs include the waffles and the raisin bread french toast. If I had to say one negative it would be that sometimes there isn't a lot of attention to detail with the food. I've had my potatoes come out cold, ask for fresh ones and they still came back barely warm. That has only happened once or twice out of the many times I've been there. Overall, it's a great spot.

First time to stop here. Definitely a great place for breakfast. Plenty of variety to choose from. Corned beef hash was great.

    (5)
  • Heidi G.

Overall, not bad, but not great. Waffle was great, but eggs and sausage were just OK. Decaf coffee was barely warm. Our server seemed a little "off" but all the other severs seemed great. Guess we got the short end of that stick. It's not a bad place, I think we just got a bad break.

  • Anthony G.

There were a little over price and they messed up my order twice. They don't mix cream and sugar in your coffee

Not hard to mess up breakfast. Egg & I managed to provide a nice breakfast. Been here several other times when visiting my brother.

Breakfast was Great...it was different but delicious...I enjoyed the breakfast burrito & the ranch potatoes are sooo good! The caramel crunch coffee was even better! I'm def coming back to try & enjoying more of their breakfast...menu has a nice variety of options for breakfast! So I def recommend for breakfast!

I would give it ZERO stars if I could. This was our third visit and still the same thing over and over. POOR SERVICE, cold food, terrible manager(female working at 9:30 on 11/13/14. Her statement "I don't know what to tell you, if you are not happy you should tell someone ". Hum, I thought I was...... I guess managers don't have the competence to correct problems anymore! Same your time and your money!! I've eaten at truck stops with better customer service

  • Lauren B.

This place is really good for breakfast. I went this morning and got the biscuits and gravy. They were soft and fluffy and had a little kick to them. Their vanilla iced coffee was delicious and thy even gave you a free second refill. My only issue is that the waitress never told us we needed to go inside to pay so we were waiting for a while until another server told us.

Had the croissant breakfast sandwich and it reminded me of my dad's cooking. Service was a little slow, but I was in no rush so I didn't mind.

I was the opposite of crazy about The Egg & I. I came with a group of people for lunch. We actually had plans to have lunch at another local establishment, that was too busy, so we decided to give The Egg & I a try. Let me preface my comments by saying that the one person in our group that ordered breakfast really liked it. The rest of us got lunch and were not as impressed. Our food all came out at different times, which was a bit awkward for a work lunch. When I ordered the Southwest Salad, the server asked if that was all. I was wondering why he asked that. I don't have a huge appetite, but I was still a bit hungry after the salad. It tasted alright, but it isn't something I would order again. The rest of my group had similar experiences and we all left feeling somewhat underwhelmed. Would I be back? Yes - I would like to give their breakfast a shot as it is likely pretty good. I don't feel that The Egg & I can compete as a lunch choice against some of the other establishments in the area.

First experience- CRAP. Second experience- CRAP ON TOAST. After a prolonged wait with twenty other hungry folks staring at a meeting room with seven empty tables - which is immediately contiguous with the main dining area and far easier to service than the meager outside seating they had open - we got a seat. The wait staff appear mostly to be on Quaaludes or thorazine and saunter about in slow motion. Croissant sandwich was inedible if u know what a croissant is meant to taste like - Burger King's, which are awful, are better. Potatoes - tasteless. Coffee- good; would be nice to have enough creamer not to have to wait 20 mins for more. This entire experience is punctuated by lackuster food at moderate to high prices. The register is positioned right by the entrance, so you must bump and move about with the unsuspecting souls who are still waiting - poorly conceived and a pain - to pay your bill and exit this dunghole. Hostesses need hairbrushes and style advice as well: very unprofessional skanky appearances. That they have the crowd they do is a testimony to how desperate people are for a place to relax and dine. My wife mentioned she would have enjoyed McD's more. NEVER AGAIN.

Was a little disappointed when I came here for breakfast. Basically it reminded me of a commercial breakfast eatery, like first watch. The food is good, but was hoping for something a little more special or creativity. Brandon is way to full of chain restaurants that sport mass quantity over creativity. Their special brand hot sauce was extremely salty. Switched to cholula hot sauce instead. The service was spot on, the food came out hot, and the ingredients were fresh. Probably will come back if I don't feel like driving to south Tampa for breakfast.

Came here with my husband for breakfast on a weekday. Food was alright. He had an egg white omelette and I had the Mexican omelette. I was actually disappointed. Have heard good things about this place, but my omelette was nothing great. I would go to about 10 other places by my house for breakfast before I'd stop here again.

Crab Cake Eggs Benedict!!! It was one of the best things I've ever eaten. It is a must try!! Love this place

After watching crowds outside for a while had to try it for breakfast since I live right around the corner. The place the almost empty at 8 on a Saturday which was a change from what I had observed driving by so decided to stop in. I got the biscuits and gravy with grits and eggs ordered over easy. Eggs came out burnt with hard yokes. Biscuits are not fresh made and were dense and chewy like they were frozen and thawed. I sent the eggs back and a few minutes later got back slightly above raw eggs which was clearly an angry line cook making a statement. The coffee and grits were good though. But that won't bring me back. First Watch and The Brunchery are better options in the area. Even Waffle House above this place.

Wonderful food horrible service. our waitress never came back. i grabbed the person who brought us our food to ask where the rest of our food was and to send back my hard as a rock softly scrambled egg. Finally after finishing our meal without ever being ask if we were ok I got the manager to get me our check. Very sad they were busy but not that busy.

  • Egg And I.

Dear Yelpers, Have you ever had to perform an abortion with your mouth? Well I did, at the Egg & I. First of all, how do you fuck up a cheeseburger?! You could tell right away that it was a pre-made patty, full of grease and NO flavor. It wasn't even cooked all of the way! They need to send their cook back to Mcdonalds where they found him. The people of Bloomingdale/Brandon area are delusional if they think this place is good. First Watch is far better.

My favorite Brandon breakfast place! Great food, great atmosphere, great staff! I eat here often, very often with my family and we all love it.

I got sat in the corner behind the entrance...don't think it was because of my wheelchair but now I'm wondering. Waitress came immediately to take my drink order and brought my hot tea. She said she would be back in one minute to take my order and after twenty minutes I asked another waiter if I could order. I waited ten more minutes and decided to leave after no one came. It's a Monday and there are about fifteen people total in the restaurant....not busy at all. Doubt if I come back!

Here at noon on a friday morning. Seated right away, plenty of open tables. Menu is solid, good variety for families. I ordered the Cambridge skillet and wife got raspberry pancakes. Skillet was pretty good but nothing special. Similar to village inn really. Portions just ok. I was still hungry when I finished. My wife said pancake was ok but she liked first watch better. If you're looking for great, pinkys in tampa is a great spot.

This was a pleasant place to have breakfast. It was busy and seemed that every family had a toddler with them. The place was really kid friendly. The friendliness did not stop with the kids from the host all the way through to paying the check. Everyone was very friendly. The waiting crowd and the full dining room was a witness to this. The décor was very modern and inviting the dining room along with a meeting room off to one side had tables and booths that held small to medium size groups and smaller booths for one or two. The one drawback to this place, the tables were close enough the wait staff seemed to dance around each other to deliver the food. This did not seem to hinder the progress of service. Shortly after arriving at our table, a waiter came to take our drink orders. I noted they offered two different types of coffee: Signature Brasilia Blend and Rainforest Bold. I ordered the bold and it was as I expected very dark and rich. The other thing with the coffee is they serve it bottomless in your own personal warmer. I ordered the Waffle Eggspress that came with a waffle, two eggs (medium) and two slices of bacon (crisp). The eggs and bacon came out as order tasting as one would expect. The waffle had something unique about it a texture that reminded me of wheat waffles. I inquired if the waffles had wheat in them. The waiter informed the waffles contained a special blend. The waffle was delicate not quit flakey and was prepared to a perfect golden sprinkled with powdered sugar. I noticed on the menu that they offered their meeting room at no charge. Next time I am in Brandon area for breakfast this place will be a contender in the choices.

It's always nice to see quaint breakfast and lunch places opening. After waiting 4 months for the construction dust to fade it's finally here. The staff is diverse with and friendly, interior crisp with quaint decorations and slogans on the walls. The menu was fabulous with several different options of eggs Benedict alone, two of which we got of course. There are so many good choices that kept walking by. I know I need to sample many more. Both the wife and I remarked on how light and tasty the Benedict's were rather than the usual over rich hollandaise sauce. It's delicious food! And the plate was empty before we knew it. Shame I start my diet tomorrow, but Eggie, I'll be back!

  • Hannah A.

Now the only reason this is two stars is because our server was kind and the food we did get was good. But, let me start off with the fact that I'm sick, about to go to work and all I wanted was some soup and to eat with my husband who is about to be deployed. So I order chicken noodle soup and he orders the Texas skillet. The Texas skillet comes out and my egg does also but then they tell me they're out of chicken noodle. That's fine, I'll take the other soup of the day, chili. It comes out in about 30 seconds. It's freezing cold. So, now I'm eating my husbands food as I don't have time to wait for anything else because I have to work. Very disappointed.

  • Julie N.

I love their food and coffee game. Its on point. Only two complaints. The AC sucks, its always humid in there. And they need to do something about where they make people pay. On weekend mornings its a complete cluster F**k of people standing around trying to pay, and its awkward when they ask you how much tip you want to add. Let someone do that without having to say it in front of all of the people waiting to be sat. AWKWARD

Ate here two weeks ago. Very yummy breakfast food. Not for intimate conversations as the tables are so close together. Could hear the girls next to us talking about sneaking into neighbors pools. My husband and I have very different tastes and we each found something to thoroughly enjoy! Egg white fritatta with Parmesan cheese was amazing!!

  • Hala K.

We waited about 30 minutes from the time we ordered to even receive insight on where our food was because our waitress didn't tell us they were running behind. It wasn't until I flagged down a different waiter and asked why we haven't received our food did we find out about them being behind. We ordered at noon and received our food at 12:45. And when we finally received our corn beef hash it seemed very bland. No seasoning at all. However the apple cinnamon flapper my boyfriend had was excellent. I will say the bright spot was the manager came by and asked about our experience, when we explained what happened he was very polite and apologetic for the issue. He understood the lack of communication was frustrating and even though we didn't ask for it, he didn't hesitate to cover the cost of our meals. I would recommend giving this place a try, simply for the fact that management seems very diligent and I don't feel one crowded morning is enough to permanently define an establishment. Also, because they took the time to discuss the experience with us definitely made us feel better. I will definitely venture back to Egg & I as I feel they have more to offer than what I experienced today and I look forward to my Next visit as I am sure they will exceed any expectations!

Hostess sat us in section where our waitress had a huge party. We waited almost 10 minutes before our waitress came to our table to take our drink order. We gave her our order at the same time. We waited and waited almost 20 minutes for our French toast and eggs. Our food was stone cold. Soggy french toast, cold scrambled eggs and two pieces of cold dried out greasy bacon...Our bill came to $23.00 for two breakfast plates with cold food also the having to wait so long left us with a bad impression and we will not be back. I complained to the person at cash register and all she said was she is sorry and waitress had a big party? Will not be back.

While I love this place the hostesses should know that customers can hear every nasty comment being made about other patrons when they turn their back. I've come in, put my name of the list and stood or sat at the closest available seat which is unfortunately right next to the hostess podium. Sadly, I've heard these young girls make several not so nice comments about customers, while it may be juicy to hear lol I must deduct a star for lack of professionalism. I understand it's a stressful position but if you must complain, do it out the ear shot of the customers, that's just common sense.

We were very happy to have a new breakfast place in our area. This is a good example of be careful what you wish for. We were seated immediately. The place is pleasantly decorated, sunny and open but could I tell you what they were? Not a chance. Our server was very nice and brought coffee. Wife drinks decaf, me leaded. We each got our own carafe which I love,, I can drink lots of coffee if it is good and this coffee is real good. Great start. Wife chooses hash and eggs, I choose a mushroom spinach sausage omelet with grits and English muffin. The food arrived with a minimal wait. Wife likes her eggs over medium, no runny whites. They were cooked exactly right and she had sour dough toast, a welcome throwback to our California days. My omelet was covered in what I thought was cheese but turned out to be their house specialty, hollandise. I like hollandise but I wish they would have asked if I wanted it. The only other criticism I have about the food was that the cheese was Swiss, not my fav. The grits and English muffin were just fine. The biggest beef here is the price, this breakfast came in at $28 with tip. Not exactly Denny's prices. The coffee alone was 2.50 each. Will we return? Doubt it, Riverview Sandwich Shop is a much better value. If you go ask a lot of questions about your meal such as what kind of cheese or does it come smothered in hollandise? A little caution goes a long way here but do you really want to spend that kind of money on a breakfast that you have to micromanage? I think not.

The food was tasty, but the restaurant could really use some doors to the kitchen! Or tell your employees to refrain from LOUD personal conversations and cursing! There are too many other good breakfast places in Brandon where I don't have to hear about your f$#*n rent issues..... The manager was unavailable for giving my feedback.

Arrived around 9:30 AM on a Saturday for breakfast....10 min wait which I thought wasn't bad at all...except there were a ton of empty tables inside and out...so not sure what caused the wait....I requested a table outside and we were showed to a table inside. I needed coffee too badly to argue. Decor was no mas...I didn't get it but that's just me...so far everyone is super friendly. The server arrived and quickly provided pretty good coffee. The menu has big variety of breakfast choices from very healthy to "what the hell"....I ordered the Vera Cruz chicken and avocado egg white omlete. It came with a side of fresh fruit (apple slices, blueberries, strawberries, pineapple, cantaloupe, and honeydew melon), a buttered toasted english muffin, and a side of salsa. The omlete was delicious and packed with lots of chicken, green chilis, and diced tomatoes. The avocado was fresh and flavorful. Overall I was pretty happy with everything. They even provided to-go coffee cups so that we could take some coffee on the road. We will definitely come back to try their lunch menu. Cheers!

Awesome breakfast...definitely get an item with the pork green chili! A little kick to it, but very tasty. If you want to eat breakfast there and not have a wait, get there early!

Our first visit was a Sunday morning. It was understandably crowded. We decided to wait anyway, and wait we did with 45 minutes invested to finally get a small table for two despite the many assurances that we would be seated within 10 minutes or so - - repeated four times. The waitress was harried, not particularly friendly, and seemingly uninterested in feeding us though by now we were starving! It took another 45 minutes from the time we ordered until our meal arrived. She never once checked in with us during the wait time, no updates or apologies. I must say that the food was excellent. Piping hot and cooked exactly how we wanted. The experience was not totally unpleasant but no way would I choose again to invest a total of 2.5 hours for breakfast. We decided on a second visit during a weekday morning which was presumably slower. We were seated immediately. Different waiter but the same detached, uninterested demeanor as the previous waitress. Our food arrived within 20 minutes or so but wasn't close to being warm much less hot. Even the coffee was lukewarm. The food was not bad but really? Lukewarm? So when the check was left at the table corner I never saw the waiter again. I placed my credit card out and assumed he'd swing by and cash us out but he did not. Finally I got up and exited to the register area and inquired if they had any future plans to accept table payment because the register area was lined up with people waiting to leave + the lobby was crowded with people trying to get in. A complete bottleneck. The lady replied "No, we have no plans to accept payment through the waiter at the table. This is similar to Village In". I replied that I thought they'd want to differentiate themselves from Village Inn and the rest; and she replied, "We let our food do the differentiation". All the while there was no eye contact and she was downright haughty! I assume an owner. If not, and she's a manager or employee...I'd get rid of her. I think I'll stick with Village Inn. They're half the price of The Egg & I their wait staff are friendly. They hustle. The Egg & I has a really nice looking menu but that's about it. Overall they present poor hospitality and below average food and temperature. Some of the employee are just downright hostile!

Very accommodating waitress and chef! So happy to make little changes to make my meal personalized for me! Yay the Egg & I

Didn't live up to the hype at all. This was one of the most expensive, unsatisfying breakfasts in a long time. I had waffles with eggs (over medium) and bacon. Waffles were okay, they have a "egg and I" waffle iron that puts their logo into the center of the waffle, pretty neat. The bacon was just okay but was disappointingly thin. The eggs, while cooked to temp, were more greasy than baked pepperonis (most greasy analogy I could think of), it's like they were poached in butter. I had to napkin off the grease multiple times and I still couldn't stomach them. When I told the waiter he just said "ok". My dad had corned beef hash with eggs (over easy) and while the hash was "alright" his eggs were well done, no runny yolks. He travels all over the US and said this place didn't do anything for him. My wife's meal followed the same trend, just ok, but she wanted bacon which didn't come with her meal. It was $3 for a side of bacon so we ordered it and it was 3 strips of their THIN cut bacon. Long story short, for almost $50 with tip, I would have expected a more memorable experience. So disappointed, was hoping this place would be the new "breakfast go to" but we will just have to keep making the longer drive to The Recipe Box.

I eat here around 5-6 times a week. Most of the service staff is great, and the food is moderately priced and always good. Today I had my favorite, the raisin bread French toast. I always eat it without syrup, the cinnamon butter they serve with it is more then enough topping. Best breakfast in Riverview so far :)

We had a terrific brunch on a sunday morning with an amazing server, Seth, who definitely made our experience unforgettable. The food was delicious, and the seasonal coffee was unforgetable.

Quoted 15 min and waited 30 but everyone was very nice. Once ordered, food came out very quickly. Everything was hot and tasty. The ranch potatoes are fabulous!

Very overpriced & small portions. Mediocre tasting food at best. Service is fine. Not worth the price.

We come here for breakfast. It is a restaurant that was needed in our area. The food is good. The portions are for normal people. If you like hoggin' it's not for you.

The food at the egg and I is excellent. I would ear there as many times as I can and I would wait in line , like many who have breakfast there but not long at all . The food is worth the wait. That is why I gave it five stars.

It's a cozy environment with delish food. My husband and I are from the keys and I hesitate in getting crab Benedict's anywhere else because they are never as good as back home. Well, The Egg & I has brought me home. I ordered the crab Benedict's today and it's amazing!!!! The pumpkin coffee competes with Starbucks pumpkin spice late. This is my new every weekend breakfast place!

Beautiful location at Winthrop Plaza with a fresh country interior. I ordered the Mexican Skillet (minus the pork/meat) and a iced hazelnut latte. The salsa was delicious and the house potatoes perfect. I had the 2 eggs over easy(medium) I could smell the butter that the eggs were fired in, definitely not in a bad way. Smelled great! The iced coffee was not too strong, had enough sweetest to it, and the hazelnut flavor was not overpoweringly. I can't wait to go back to try a new dish!

Came here for breakfast. I had the apple granola pancakes. Very tasty and a generous size. The A/C was set a lower than it should and the food cooled off quick. My girlfriend had the stuffed french toast and again liked it a lot but too much to finish. The vanilla coffee was just as good. We'll definitely be back to try other items on the menu.

If you're looking for horrible canned food at egg-spensive prices check out The Egg and I. I had the corned beef hash. It was obviously the same stuff that costs $1.88 at Wal-Mart with bad spices and onions. With eggs and 2 pieces of toast my breakfast that would have cost $3 from Wal-Mart cost me over $10 (with a beverage). I should have known, they're menu mentions that they "Proudly serve" products from companies that specialize in processed (Hormel, Oscar Meyer, etc.).

Sunday was busy with a 15-20 min wait. I had the 2 eggs with bacon and sausage which was really good, not wowed. The style reminds me a lot of first watch. The other photos that I posted were from my partner and friends. Outdoor seating available.

The breakfast today was not very good. We had a frittata and a colorado scramble. Both dishes had to be sent back because they weren't completely cooked. Neither of our breakfasts tasted very good. Tasted almost like powdered eggs and now we are both nauseous. The servers were very understaffed (not their fault). They did try to keep up but we waited for quite a long time for a cup of coffee. The staff was frazzled. Not sure I will go back.

This place is so good! It's small, food is great and the structure of the building is neat. I've only been there once, so for me to give it 4 stars says something. I ordered the eggs Benedict and hot tea and it was so so good...I was impressed. The only downside is the parking, but we will definitely go back again and again.

Went here today for breakfast and I have to say I am impressed. It was my first time but I went with a friend who goes often. I ordered their Arnold Palmer tea which was delicious. I then had an inlet to play it safe but it was delicious! They also have ranch potatoes that are excellent!!! There was a lot of people there but the wait wasn't very long at all! Nice place to have breakfast!

Went here with my niece and we both had the turkey with avocado and bacon with a side salad It was amazing. Inside or outside dining. Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices for breakfast or lunch.

Went for breakfast today with my husband and 17 mo. old daughter. Hostess was pretty clueless and made us stand by for several minutes while she conversed with a coworker. There were many seats available and she took us to a table opposed to a booth. We chose our booth of choice and settled in hoping this would be a better experience than the last time we were here. Not quite. Food came out and my husbands hash was piping hot while my eggs Benedict was literally cold, and the potatoes were inedible they were so cold. I told the waitress and stated I would eat it anyway but wanted to share my displeasure. The manager came over, MANDY, and she was less than professional. In fact, it was laughable! She said, "I did everything I was supposed to do" and said "maybe you should speak to someone if your not happy"....DUH!!!!!!! I thought that's what I was doing????? She was short, dismissive and rude. We will not be back. It's a lot of hype (long lines always, etc..) for nothing better than Denny's. Save your money and cruise to Waffle House.

We went this past weekend and were disappointed. The interior reminded me of Village Inn. Our waiter took our order and vanished after getting our drinks. Our order took 25 min to get to us. My wife's order, egg benedict, was cold and my Greek Frittata had too much grease or olive oil on it and order was not complete regarding side items. Spent $25 for the two of us. This owner wants to open another store in Tampa. He better attend to this one first.

The service is not great. We got sat on the patio and waited for 10 minutes before even meeting our waitress. They never even addressed that we waited or apologized. Will not be coming back

I have enjoyed myself every time I have been here. Food is always good. They menu has a ton of options and I've always loved their seasonal specials. Coffee is also wonderful. The service has always been exceptional. Great place for breakfast!

Nigal was our server he was professional and personable. We arrived slightly after the breakfast rush. The restaurant was very clean. I ordered the jack scramble which had a good amount of flavor but I would say the eggs were slightly undercooked. My wife ordered the blueberry pancake which was HUGE! Her pancake was also slightly undercooked, but tasted good. Overall experience was good and our son was happy with his smiley face pancake.

Ate here for brunch this past week. Had the blueberry pancakes, which had fresh blueberries, but came with a little cup of blueberry compote (not sure you needed it). Pancake was delicious. Ordered it with the sausage patties and stole some of the potatoes from grandma (also delicious). Price was right. Other folks at the table were ordering all kinds of Eggs Benedicts, which looked amazing. Also interesting were the raspberry granola pancakes (interesting twist with the granola) Bottom line: Great breakfast place. Go and eat there.

Read several mixed reviews about this place so I decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did. I ordered the spinach, mushroom and bacon omelette. it came covered with melted Swiss cheese and a lemony hollandaise sauce. The eggs were perfectly cooked and the flavor combinations made for an excellent breakfast. The wait staff was friendly, my server upon hearing this was my first visit took some time to go over some dishes and shared some of his favorites. Overall it was a very good experience and I plan to return soon.
