We moved to the Riverview area from the suburbs of Chicago. This is the only Mexican restaurant around that is not fast food. We have been there three times now and the food has been good, but the service is painfully slow. We waited over an hour for our food: my husband ordered a burger and I ordered off of the vegetarian menu. Our waitress was attentive though. Last time we where there the waitress did not return our credit card. We didn't realize it until the next morning. Fortunately when we went back they had it. If you have the time I would recommend it. Make sure you leave with your credit card though. Next time we are going to call ahead for take out.

I have been here a few times with my family when I'm visiting them in Riverview - it seems to be getting busier every time I visit. There was a 45 minute wait last night for dinner - so you may want to call ahead and plan accordingly. The inside of the restaurant is colorful and is like a brighter version of Vallarta's Mexican Restaurant. The menu has a number of options from Tex-Mex and American to full-on Mexican options. I normally go with the enchiladas, which are a solid pick - but decided I was in the mood for something different last night and ordered the Steak Ranchero which is a ribeye steak with ranchero sauce and cheese, accompanied by a cheese enchilada, rice, beans, guacamole, salad, tortillas, and cheese. The steak was incredible - I have to say it was well above my expectations and filled with sabor! The rice and beans are good, but I prefer refried black beans over brown. The horchata here is pretty good, but I prefer their Jarritos Mexican Soda drinks. Our waitress, Julie, really made the experience though. Extremely attentive and helpful. My Mom was coming down with some kind of cold and the waitress was kind enough to move us inside and to bring my Mom a glass of hot water with lemons to help soothe her throat. Service was awesome. Overall, a cool Mexican spot in Riverview that I can recommend.

3 stars for the cooks - 0 for service - both times we've been here the food has been great and the service terrible

I'm wondering if the current 3-star rating is due to the horrible service during the first few weeks after opening. We've visited this Mi Casa location several times and I can definitely say that they have made a complete turnaround on their service! The food here is always very good and fits the bill when I'm craving Mexican. Their sangrias/margaritas and draft beers are 2-for-1, which is always awesome. Love the sangria! I opted to try something new on this visit and ordered the steak a la Mexicana. It was spicy and so good! Diced beef skirt steak with tomatoes, onions, and peppers accompanied with rice, retried beans, guacamole, salad. The meat was so flavorful! Riverview (especially south to Big Bend Rd) doesn't have a lot of restaurants, so it's nice to see a good Mexican place thriving in this area!

Oh no, I feel sorry for the wait staff!! Kitchen over whelmed, lots of excuses!! Poor food. Yo Kiero Taco Bell would be a better choice

As always very good Mexican. The enchiladas can't be beat. Chips and salsa may seem trivial but they are excellent

We've been here a couple of times and had great food each time! The servers' recommendations have been spot on and we have never had to wait very long for a table, service or food. I would definitely recommend trying Mi Casa if you want good food!

lazy staff!!!! We had Luisa and my partner and I went in to the restaurant at about 730. Hostess was unpleasant and darn near chastised us for considering seating ourselves. We were eventually seated and about 15 mins of waiting at our seats still no contact by server. I had to signal to many that passed us for service. It was NOT BUSY! Finally a Luisa server came to us. Rolled her eyes and was just as surly as ever. We ordered two margaritas and she promptly refilled obviously inebriated patrons and overlooked us. Luisa did not care one iota. My First and last time there. I will discourage anyone from going there. I've been here long enough to see restaurants change there a few times and if they continue their service in that fashion I predict another restaurant biting the dust soon! Pitiful. The two nacho chips that I managed to choke down were ok. Hence the one star.

Just finished eating. Food was good but service was terrible. We sat for over 45 minutes to refill drinks and they literally forgot about us. This is the third time we have had this type of service. Also, mac and cheese for my 2 year old...$6.50 for mixrowaved kids mac and cheese?? Not coming back anymore. Very dissappointing

Loved the food and great customer service from Saul who helped me order the carnitas just the way I liked them delicious. The extra customer service from Saul makes me feel valued as a patron

My hubbie and I lived in the Apollo Beach before there were hardly any restaurants, so when we finally got a Mexican restaurant (our fave cuisine), we were thrilled! Service: Our first experience was horrible and made us not want to return. If this was the case w/ you as well, I'd encourage you to give them another try. Now that the kinks are worked out w/ opening a new business, service is much better! Food: This part is why I give it only 3 stars...mainly because of the inconsistency. My hubbie and I love the flavor of the Pulled Beef Burrito, Steak/Chicken Fajitas, and the Fajita Chicken Salad. That being said, the Quesadillas and the Vegetarian Combo (Bean Burrito and Bean Tostada were average at best. Drinks: This is the best part, they don't have Happy Hour...they have Happy Day. Buy one get one drinks around the clock and our fave...2 Modelos for $6. Can't beat that! Definitely glad to have this place around the corner...we will continue to be regulars. Just wouldn't drive across town for it.

There aren't a lot of options for Mexican in Riverview. This place could really be making a killing. The food is actually not bad and some of it is very good. The service, however, is bad and simply seems poorly trained and managed. We've been in a fee times since opening and it hasn't gotten better. Even without other options we probably wont go again. No reason to award poor service with our dollars.

What happened!?! The service has gone downhill fast. Very slow with many mistakes. The food is still pretty good, if you can get it.

This place has been getting worse and worse at their service. While walking to be seated at our table, I noticed a table that was not yet cleared. The same table remained covered in glasses, used silverware and plates as we left. This was on a Monday night and it wasn't like there was a crowd gathered at the door and there were several tabkes no even occupied. They didn't tell us ahead if time they were short-handed. Our waitress finally came toour table after ten minutes and there was no apology at all. She left with our drink order and came back ten minutes later (it boggles my mind why, since the dining room isn't very large at all and the drink dispenser was literally ten feet away from us. Upon receiving our appetizer 20 minutes later, we realized that we had no plates or silverware, our drinks were emtpy, and there were no napkins on the table. I had to flag down a different server to give us napkins for a spill. When the waitress gave us our silverware she said "here" and then handed me 6 forks and 6 knives laying on one napkin and walked away. When I opened it, the silverware was streaked with water spots all over each piece. The waitress did not return to ask us if we wanted our drinks filled at any point. I had the yell "Excuse me!" To get her attention after 15 minutes went by. When the food came, they just put it anywhere of each front of us. My dad had to wait an extra 10 minutes for his food to be ready after everyone else was served and had already been waiting 30 minutes after our appetizer. I can honestly say, we have no interest in going to this restaurant again. The only thing it might have going for them is their food, but the service seriously lacks and it doesn't even appear that they care if their customers are even happy.

Been here couple of times and have tried couple different things on the menu. Pretty decent food. Again, I've been spoiled when it comes to Mexican food. Outside seating is great if you have kids (who can't sit still). Drinks are always on happy hour (buy one get one free, so I am always a happy girl by the time I leave). Service - hit or miss. Sometimes it's great, sometimes it's realllllllly slow (it doesn't bother me for the most part because that's how I usually tip them). Food is pretty cheap and place is clean.

  • Jen K.

We were craving Mexican and decided to try out this new place. The service was extremely slow. Even the bowl of queso took 15 minutes to come out. When we asked what was taking our food so long the waitress blamed it on a big party that was seated before us. When it was time for the check we couldn't even find her. The food was ok. I've had better. Pretty bland flavors. I know this restaurant is new. I'll give it another try in a couple of months.

We have been here a couple times an I think the place is great. My wife thinks its just pretty good. We both agree its probably one of the best in the Tampa area. They have seemed to have some challenges with service. One time I sat down at a table and the lady at the table next to us said 'plan to wait an hour for your food'. She obviously wasn't happy. We have yet to experience an unbearable wait for anything. The servers we had were all very nice. The Gordo's wet burrito and Carne Guisada were both very good. Additionally, one key item for any 'mexican' restaurant... they make a good margarita. I even met a guy who used to travel from Apollo Beach to their Plant City location. That's how much he liked their food!

I lived in Mexico City for 8 years and I have a deep love and appreciation for all things Mexican. That said, this is a good restaurant if you're looking for Tex-Mex (not authentic Mexican) food. I ordered the enchiladas and my wife ordered the chile relleno. Both were tasty, and if you've never had real deal Mexican food (you know...from small restaurants in Ruskin or Wimauma where a sign could read 'no Espanol, no servicio' ) you would find food similar to other Tex Mex fares in the Brandon area. In conclusion, if you're looking for food that meets the typical gringo expectations without too much of a cultural shock, visit Mi Casa. However... if you long for the real deal Mexican taste, try a small establishment in Ruskin or Wimauma. Gracias.

Service very slow! Food is not bad! Wish I had silverware to eat, wait long time for a to go box, I the end I had to get up and ask for one, and for the check need to get up get up again and ask for my bill! Not worth that waiting !

  • Crystal P.

2 stars for the outdoor seating and great drink specials. This place is a good spot for meeting friends for drinks and some chips and salsa but I did not enjoy my food at all. Unremarkable. My shrimp enchiladas were under seasoned and cold and the refried beans had the consistency of baby food. No bueno.

  • Tracey B.

I like this place even though the reviews are mixed. We don't have much to choose from locally. When I'm in the mood for Mexican food this is where I go. Restaurant is clean - staff is always friendly. I usually get a side of queso and the shredded chicken quesadillas. Hubby gets the steak fajitas. I've also had the enchiladas verdes which was really good. I'm not a salsa fan, but my family says it's really good here. I'm very particular about my tortilla chips and these are just average imho - not good not bad. Honestly where else are you going to go if you don't want to drive 30 minutes? Taco Bell? Tijuana Flats?

Very commercial tasting not authentic Mexican food. Wasn't able to appreciate as I have been lucky enough to have some homemade tamales and tacos from a great family that lived next door. Service is very poor sloooow.....Very average/edible food

We gave this place a few weeks off after our first visit to give them a chance to iron out the apparent difficulties in the kitchen and to get their liquor license. We were pleasantly surprised on our last visit - food was delivered fast & hot, staff was very friendly, host checked on us during our visit, but was not intrusive, and the food was excellent. This is a far cry from our first visit a few weeks ago.

I had high hopes for this place, riverview needs a good mexican restaurant and thus far this one has proven to be not good, with pre made line food, hot plates to heat up the food and keep warm, bad home made salsas, no flavor, not even basic salt and pepper ... Stale chips and bad service, the food took for ever to come and the server did not come back to see how we were doing until after 25 minutes, and by then.. We were done.. No salt and pepper or bottle salsa on the table, the rest of the servers/food runners kept getting the food delivered to the wrong tables. It was a comedy of errors ..

  • Charles R.

Food was good. Service not so good. There were empty tables throughout restaurant, but had to wait 20 minutes for a table??? Once seated server paid very little attention to my table never refilled tea or other drinks. Took more than 45 minutes to receive food.

Great food with good service. Nice decor with very big portions we chose to share a meal.

  • Linda O.

I have been here three times..... Each time food has been great!!! Service seems to be an issue! Two of three times I have had to ASK to get service! The last time being today ....our table of 4 waited and waited for the standard chips and salsa and drink a to be ordered... When the table next to us got the salsa their drinks and ordering their food I finally headed towards the kitchen to ask if we could something...anything! I intend to try one more time as their food is good.... And will be calling the manager tomorrow. I hope they can up their game in the service dept!

Came here for dinner and drinks with girlfriends. We came on a Thursday night and it was packed! We sat at a high top by the bar. The menu had a lot of good looking options and there was a decent amount of drink specials offered. Our waiter was nice enough but you could tell he was super busy. It took a LONG time for our food to come out. Good thing you get chips and salsa while you are waiting because i was starving! When our food did finally come out... my friends order was wrong. Luckily he was able to fix it without making her wait another hour! The food was really delicious.. i ordered chicken enchilladas. The prices really didn't impress me - my plate was $10.99 which isn't awful but for the service and wait it wasnt worth that to me. The drink special for draft beer was 2 for $6 which was decent. I wish they had more draft beer options but i settled for Corona Light which was okay. I may give this place another try on a slower evening to see if the service issue was a one time deal.

As the others have pointed out this place is slow. They have been open for a few weeks now and nothing has changed since I went the first time. Also, if you enjoy flavorful food you wont find it here, not sure they know what spices are for. Lunch specials are not that special either....to pricey. I will go across the street to Qdoba where the food is good and I don't get charged for jalapenos on the side.

This place is awesome. We arrived an hour prior to closing and had to wait for a hostess and table because it was packed. Loved the decor and atmosphere. Wide range of menu items. Reasonable prices. Friendly servers. Will def be back.

Best place for Mexican food. Service was fantastic. Spend time with the bartender, Marvin. The guy knows his stuff. All day two for one happy hour!!

The food is alright I quess considering it's about the only Mexican Resturant in town it would be better if they made fresh tortillas but over all I give it a 3 stars for effort.

We came here with some friends for their drink specials and nearby Mexican eats in the Riverview area. Food: I ordered the seafood salad which was good. It was in a taco shell, which my hubby demolished and had small shrimp on greens. I was able to ask for salsa instead of dressing. My only change was to have the shrimp be bigger because they were almost popcorn sized. The white queso was delicious and was big enough to share with the table. Endless chips and salsa are always the key to my heart. Hubby had steak enchiladas and said they were okay. He accidentally used the extremely hot red sauce on the table - which I thought should have been marked (I had a tiny bit and my mouth was on fire.) Service: the staff and servers were very quick and pleasant. Amy? I think that was her name, always came by to check on us. Overall This is a good deal for local Mexican food as the drink specials are 2/$6 beers and 2/1 margaritas if you live off of Big bend and 301. Would I come here again on my own? Maybe, but only if nearby.

UPDATED 4/17/15 - OK - let me start by saying that I don't like to give anyone a negative review, but sometimes, you just feel compelled. That being said, we've visited Mi Casa on Big Bend 4 times now, and of the four visits, we have yet to get our food in a respectable amount of time. Last night was the absolute worst, and was just shy of an hour before our food finally made it to the table (and only after we flagged down the manager to find out what the problem was). He informed us that there "was a large party outside, and they were backed up". Our server was inattentive, and even while we were waiting for that hour, our beverages were empty more than they were full. Now, in the defense of the MOD, once we had our little chat, everything perked up, including our servers attentiveness. Now - the food is good, actually, it's excellent for Tex-Mex fare. Don't let my review of the restaurant's service levels incline otherwise. If you are looking for decent, "gringo style" Mexican food, this is about the best you will find between Brandon & Bradenton. Everything we have had over the course of our four visits has been delicious. No knocks on the food whatsoever. Just BE PREPARED TO WAIT. It's a shame, I would easily rate this place 4 stars if they could get the service levels back. I'm going to give them one more shot (I think 5 tries is more than fair, so....) If they can't get the service levels under control, and soon - we won't be going back. Here's hoping that they too, read these reviews & react to them.

These high ratings must be a joke, place was pretty slow when I was there and wait staff was well, lazy rather chit chat with each other than anything else. The little queso dip bowl I received tasted like white velveeta melted down and served semi nuke warm...I don't know about you but the Mexican restaurants in Florida are lacking. This place is like the rest, sub par at best. Lack luster flavor, food is so bland...would have rather went to taco bell... Also, tables were extremely to short and chairs are way tooooooo tall for them felt like I was sitting at the kiddie table.

Soooooooo one month later we returned with the family for dinner. I wish we could report better. So where do we start, service was good.....um......um.....um......service was good.....um.....um.....um......did I mention that service was good? How does a restaurant serve food with no taste? Mi Casa should be named Mi Casa No Tasta. Four dinners no taste and mine was cold. Service was g.....ooops sorry. Don't know if we'll give this place another chance. I guess it depends on how I feel about service.

  • Gerard B.

Nothing to complain about with this place. They have their liquor license now, so having some grown up drinks with your meal makes it a little better. The good - nothing in particular stood out as exceptional. The so-so - the food, the portion sizes and service were all adequate. I've had better at other places and have definitely had worse. The bad - nothing really. I wouldn't go out of my way to make a trip to visit this place, but if it is nearby and I'm in the mood for Mexican, this place will satisfy the craving.

I come to this restaurant quite regularly. The beer is ALWAYS 2 for 1 and ALWAYS cold. Marvin, the bartender, is very good at his craft and the food is excellent.

If you're in the area of Big Bend and 301 looking for good Mexican food. Then stop in at Mi Casa! Great food and the assistant manager Saul is amazing. Very kind, accommodating and truly showed he cared about customer satisfaction. Way to go Mi Casa, keep up the good work.

Great Mexican Food. You know you're in the right place when half the people in the place are Mexican. Also ask for Julie and you won't be disappointed with the service. She is awesome. She remembered us from our last visit 2 months ago.

  • Chris S.

We had been waiting on this location to open up and fill the void of a tex-mex restaurant in the area. Is it the most flavorful? Nope, but it IS quite acceptable, and the servings have been generous on each of my half dozen visits to this location. If you leave here hungry, seek medical advice. The place does fill up on weekends, so get there early, and don't engage in shenanigans with the hot sauces, as it may take awhile for your server to get you a refill. The restaurant dining room and restrooms have been clean and well maintained. This one has made the list of places to go here in Riverview as it grows up.

Not great. Having come from Gainesville Ga, we know authentic Mexican. This was not good as I know it. Servers are very young and lack experience. Can't say I'll be back. Still looking for a good Mexican Restaurant. .

  • Dave M.

Good for what it is This is your typical Tex-Mex place. First, let's get one thing straight: It's not Mexican. Mexicans don't eat this. If you go to Mexico City and order a chimichanga, they'll look at you and ask you what in the sam houston is a chimichanga. It's Tex-Mex. Yeah, they eat tacos in Mexico, but they're not like the kind you get at an American Tex-Mex joint. This is typical of American Tex-Mex places. It has the decorations, the music, the bathrooms are labeled "Caballeros" and "Damas". It has the typical Tex-Mex menu. You know it is. I don't need to tell you. The service was good. The waiter was a very friendly guy. He kept bringing us chips and salsa. When there was too much tequila in the margarita for Precious, he happily brought it back and watered it down. He was a very endearing guy. The food was above average for a Tex-Mex place. A lot of places like this cook the actual food in the morning and then leave it heating all day. The food here seemed to be a little fresher. Precious got some tilapia. It was good. I got a chimichanga with frijoles fritos and arroz. It was pretty good. The guacamole was good and obviously made on site. This is a good Tex-Mex place. But it's still a Tex-Mex place.

You need to specialize your meals. Have them put 2 shots in one drink instead of 2 for 1. Otherwise the chips and salsa are not the best but better than some. Again you have to mix your cheese and salsa. It's not a bad place and usually served right away in bar side.

    (4)
  • Christina G.

I'm not sure exactly what has happened to this place. When it first opened it was great! But slowly kept getting worse. Especially the service. When you see a bunch of servers huddled at the hostess stand chatting when I'm in need of a water refill, not right. Beans tasted reheated the last time we went and the rice was dry and tasteless. Haven't been back and won't be back. What a shame. Used to be one of our favorite places to go :(.

2-1 Margaritas, 2-1 Beers, Shrimp Chimichanga and Gordo's Wet Burrito Went in the middle of Friday Night dinner rush. Quoted a 20 minute wait for 2 but bar seats opened up. I think they had a patio area but it didn't look open. Margaritas were weak AF! It's just mix from a carton and some cheap tequila. Food was really great. I really liked the portions of the salad items on the Chimi plate. Queso was really good. Bf loved the Burrito, which was the size of a newborn baby. Took us hours to recover from all the great food we couldn't stop eating. Bar service was great. Menu and food pics on here are accurate and consistent with our experience. We'll be back. Pros: Great food and service, great queso, reasonably priced for dine-in food Cons: Limited parking, weak margaritas

I normally come here for lunch when I work in the area every 2 weeks so I can't comment on how this place is at dinner time. It's usually busy at lunch but have always gotten right in and sat. Decent tacos but I'm addicted to their house salad with grilled chicken. Something with the spice of the chicken it's so yummy. They have a nice outside patio and the decor and ambiance is fun.

This is a great, traditional Mexican restaurant. We give it a 4 out of 5 because it's more expensive than it should be. We came on Sunday and it was 2 for 1 margaritas, and they were pretty delicious! We got the Mi Casa sampler and the queso. For my husband and me, this was the perfect amount of food. And my husband is a big guy with a big appetite! We sat in the bar area and the service was quick. Don't be fooled by the outside storefront, even though it is in a strip mall, the inside is pleasantly shocking! It has a fun and colorful ambiance and is large inside. They also have an outdoor eating area that is covered.

It's a good spot when you are craving Mexican and don't want to drive to Brandon. The food is pretty decent when in Riverview / Apollo beach where your options are limited. (Actually your only other "mexican" option in the area is Qdoba.) The salsa is really really reallly good. At dinner today there where 3 of us and we ate 3 bowls of salsa. The ground beef is bland and could use some better seasoning but I still ate a lot of it. The chicken dishes are pretty good so if you are trying to pick between beef or chicken, go with chicken. I'm confused about why the pick 2 meal does not come with lettuce tomatoes sour cream etc when it is the same price as every other meal and every other meal comes with the toppings. They are very friendly and food served fast but they only refill drinks if you ask them to. The restaurant itself is small but clean and well decorated. They have a sign that says 24/7 happy hour deals so that's definitely a plus! I just wish they would have told me that. I didn't see the sign until I was leaving. Do-over? Probably only if I don't feel like driving to Tampa or Brandon.

I met a friend here for lunch for a reunion. We hadn't seen each other in 31-years and the waitress was very cool about us camping at her table for 4 hours! It was actually not super busy and we left her a 35% tip. I had the pick 3 for $13.99 and had 2 enchiladas.. One shredded beef and one chicken, and a cheese quesadilla. It was ok but did not make my taste buds jump up and down. The chips did taste home made as well as the salsa to dip it. We enjoyed those. The decor is bright and cheerful and would be great for a celebration. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

This place is hit or miss. The salsa is typically very good and made fresh which is a plus. But I've also been there when it was watered down and bland. Same with the food, the ground beef is bland, the enchiladas are sometimes very good other times bland. I once ordered food to go, they messed up my order, and I was not upset at all, but when I went back to the restaurant, the manager was very rude to me, and basically told me it was my fault. The service is also hit or miss. It's silly to have an outdoor patio with no smoking, especially since there are so many flies and mosquitoes out there. Maybe that would help. I have friends who smoke who won't go there to drink because they can't smoke. Bottom line is, If I want a taco or fresh salsa and guacamole I will go to Don Julios, the food truck around the corner.

Second Visit and just as good. We just enjoyed a dinner last night. We had margaritas which were two for one. They were delicious. Knowing this place is connected to the same one in Plant City gives it a lot of credibility in my book and it's apparent by the wait to get dinner on a week night. I would highly recommend this place for really great traditional Mexican food. And I'm really glad to see something successful at this location. It's a great addition to the few choices that are in Apollo Beach.

This is a decent mexican restaurant. Nothing spectacular but the dishes are good. There are better mexican places around in Brandon or Tampa but its nice to have a decent one in Riverview if you dont feel like driving and want something close to home. To be honest i think i like them more everytime i go. Good salsa, and the queso is good too. Places is clean and well decorated. Staff has been freindly eveytime i have gone.

This is very good Tex-Mex food. It's a great place to take your kids and able to find something for everyone. The salsa is good and a great appetizer for the kids while waiting for your main course. If your kids aren't into tacos then try the kids menu that offers burgers, chicken fingers, etc...

Just like all the other reivews they were under staffed and the service was slow. Looked like they had a party of 16+ people already there and other tables walking in. Besides that the food was average. More Tex mex than authentic Mexican. They did have a buy one get one happy hour on draft beers which was nice. Salsa was fresh and made in house.

Good food, okay prices. Staff is not friendly or attentive. Had to wait 45 minutes to be seated when there was 5 open tables waiting to be seated.

I would have rated this a 5 but the food prices are a little high. I read all the previous reviews and despite the fact that everyone said the service was bad I went and ate. I got excellent service drinks took four minutes the meal took eight. Excellent!!! I got great service with a smile and the manager even stopped to talk to me. I had the chile relleno with rice and beans with the red sangria all of it was fantastic. Please go here and give them a chance. I will be going back. :)

Food was good, as usual, however the service was ridiculous. Upon entering the restaurant, you would have had to had a stroke to get someone's attention. Finally we were seated, and after ordering with our waitress, she basically disappeared. We were trying to get her attention for about 10 minutes to order food for some family at home, while she was flirting with one of her co-workers. Once she finally came over and we ordered, she came back and informed us that the kitchen was now closed. We were TEN minutes after they closed...hmmm, I wonder if that 10 minutes of flirting would have allowed us to order? Once she told us that the kitchen was closed, she asked if there was anything additional we would like.... Maybe the kitchen to be open?? Anyway, we will be back because it's the only good Mexican around, but I sure hope the service improves.

Wow! What a great first experience. The food is very fresh, of high quality and it comes out fast. The interior is expertly decorated and has a fun and authentic Mexican atmosphere. The food tastes all completely homemade and the salsa was great. Pricing was reasonable and the staff was friendly. I highly recommend this place!

Service was on point except we had to ask for silverware. Quick refills on drinks. Quick delivery of food-I ordered the fajita combo-shrimp, steak, chicken-only complaint is that the tails were left on the shrimp. Food was tasty. Salsa that was served with the tortilla chips was not overly spicy. Overall a positive experience.

First night out with my wife and 2 yr old in a while, was very much looking forward to a nice dinner at this restaurant. I talk about what happened from "greet to receipt" -My wife checked in with the host and she asked for a high chair, before the hostess saw my 2 yr old and myself she asked if my 2 yr old would need silverware, I thought this was a strange question. -we were a little stressed because we had to wait for 20 minutes for an outside table, even though there were 6 tables out 12 open, the bartender was very nice, poured me a beer and had a professional way about him. -Now the server, (I am writing this review while I am waiting for her to take my payment) She came to our table and asked for our order, she didn't say hi, give us her name and she even acted a bit annoyed that my 2 yr old said hi to her. -Our order came within 20 minutes, food is awesome. Server (still don't know her name and I am still waiting for her to take my credit card) did not come out to ask us one time if we needed anything, she did not ask us how our food was and when we looked like we were done she finally came out and asked us if everything was ok. My wife waited about 15 minutes then asked another server to send our server out for our payment. Overall this was a very poor experience, no music, service stunk but the food was great. And by the way....still waiting....................... She's here! Her name is Sha....! I won't say her name...

I've been here twice. My experience the second time was so much better than the first time. The food is really good! 2-4-1 sangria! Although, not enough alcohol. The best part of my visit was the complimentary salsa! It has to be the best I have ever had in a restaurant. I will be back!

I've been here twice. The first time was cool. Enjoyed the food and the service. The second time was a Friday. The hostess was awful. It was a forty five minute wait which is no big deal. We sat in the waiting area out front. After we waited for an hour I asked to check were we were on the list and she said she called us 15 minutes ago. I saw this happen to 2 other people because she wasn't calling our names, just kinda saying them and looking around (there were a lot of people waiting and it was really noisy). I was trying really hard to keep an eye on her so I was surprised it happened to us. She said it would be another hour wait because the only had one table for 5 and we already missed it so we just left bummed.

Was glad to see they opened a location in Riverview. They do have great food but its a bit on the pricey side. I ordered chicken fajitas for lunch with a water and with tip the bill was just over $20, a little much for lunch. They do not have lunch portion. Service is good location is cute.

Was definitely not impressed. Although the waitress was friendly and tried hard there was definitely issues all around. We did enjoy the ambience and atmosphere. The 2 for 1 drafts definitely made up for a few lower points. Such as Getting silverware and napkins for the party of 8 was a chore. Mostly because they had none available. Only half the table got straws, just some little things nothing to big. Overall the waitresses did their job well, I believe management mostly and some on the kitchen is what earned this lower rating. Salsa and chips were on the table fast and fresh so that was a definite plus. Overall food came out pretty fast for a Saturday night and party of 8. And wait staff did pretty well keeping our fun little party of 8 going. But some of the food items were well below satisfaction. Parts of the app sampler were delicious, but half of it was just rolled up taco shells with a speck of food inside. Most non-gratifying bite into something ever. What really made me unhappy was my fajitas. One of most important parts of fajitas is the tortillas, and they were horrible which in turn affected the whole fajita meal negatively. They were cold, crusty, hard, and tasteless. Looks like they roll 30 of them up in foil and throw them in a heat warmer and they sit there forever. I blame management on this one. Better policy of operations would resolve this issue. Why not heat up fresh tortillas for every paying customer that orders fajitas? Does it really increase your kitchens efficiency by eliminating the 20 seconds it takes to heat up 4 small tortillas? Is it worth the cost of money loss from dissatisfied customers who are less likely to eat there or refer their friends. Again that is the point of the fajitas, if I want a plate of veggies and meat I would've stayed home and made stir fry. Also note, another member of our party had fajitas and had the same horrible tortillas. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing? Some places just don't do certain things well. So I know fajitas and app samplers are off the list here. But other people said they enjoyed their meal so I'm sure there is some good meals on the menu. Overall this place is what it is. A budget friendly local Mexican joint. I wouldn't avoid but I will have trouble deciding to go here over the more delicious and convenient Qdobe (but heavy limited on options) and my all time favorite Tijuana Flats (all around operation food and service of this place is amazing).

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
