We came here for my step-son's birthday dinner and overall had a good experience. The owner or manager came and chatted with us for a while and was nice. The food was good and consistent with the other locations Ive been to. I had the cobb salad and we shared the wings and pepp pizza. The service wasn't that good and she seemed very un-interested in taking good care of us. She disappeared for awhile as well. We also heard a kitchen member hocking up a loogie while they were making our food....which isnt good. We will definitely be back (hopefully not with the same server and loogie-less) in the near future!

The last time I was here, here everything was great, but it seemed like they've stepped up their game recently. I was never a fan of their chicken Alfredo but I've noticed that they've changed their chicken and Alfredo sauce. They actually make both in house and it's amazing! A friend of mine ordered one and when I tried it I was blown away. It's not some pre-made sauce. They actually make it for each individual portion served. Next time I go there, that's what I'm getting. That and probably a Tri-State Chicken salad because damn it if I can't get out of there without ordering one.

Although pizza is pretty good. Customer service wise needs a huge improvement. That's why is getting only 3/5 stars

One of the best pizzas I've had in Orlando! We received a gift certificate on the mail from NYPD, we've drove by it many times but never stopped, so we decided to give it a shot. The certificate was for a 14" cheese pizza but we added some more ingredients to it since my husband NEEDS meat in his food! We placed the delivery order with the manager, who was nice and helped us with it. I loved the fact that the crust was nice and crispy and you could taste the freshness of the ingredients! By far the best thin pizza we've tried here in orlando. I gave it 4 stars because, unfortunately I have to agree with other customers, when delivered the food was not hot at all. Other than that little isue, I ended up wanting more! Definitely ordering again!!

We love this place and have been going there for years !!! We love Tuesday nights when we can order one pizza and get one Free... We had a "Great" server yesterday named "Angelina"... so friendly and caring to my Husband and I..... We know that Paul really cares about his Clients and the Quality of the food served there. This place is a tradition in our "Family" get togethers...

I have been to this location about five times now. I have nothing but great things to say about the food....it is fantastic!!! Very large portions for a great price. However I would like to see is better costumer service from the staff. I haven't been pleased with the waitresses there at all. There is always a feeling of rushing you out. We had one girl drop of the check to our table and actual stand over us waiting for the bill to be paid. Tonight we had another negative experience. The waitress was going to sit us at a table where space was limited but because we had a larger party we asked to be seated at a larger table. Apparently that was a major issue. As the waitresses whispered to each other shooting us looks from across the room. The talking to each other and shooting us the "stank eye" continued the whole time we were there. When our drinks came out they were slammed down on the table when served. Before we were even close to being done eating the girls where coming over trying to start clearing the table. Our waitress couldn't have been any more miserable. I am not one to normally complain but being that I as well am in the service industry costumer service is crucial. My suggestion is get the food to go....that way you can enjoy the food without experiencing the unfriendliness

I really enjoy the Madison square garden pizza pie but all of the pizzas I've had here have been good. The salads are rather tasty also. The reason I give three stars is because the service here is always a little off. Definitely order your pizza for take out.

The service was Exceptional, Food was even better. It's nice family atmosphere. Kids love watching the pizzas being tossed in the air... Highly recommended!

Really enjoyed Kids night on Wednesday. Our 2 year-old made her own pizza! Her pizza was cooked and served first (at our request--she was starving). Since she can't sit still for long, she liked the kids play table, which gives us a chance to enjoy our meal. Our server was friendly and atmosphere is casual. We ordered the large greek salad to share and a large pizza with sun-dried tomatoes, ham, and mushrooms. Everything was fresh, and the crust was perfectly cooked. Oh, and the kids pizza is FREE!

Run of the mill New York pizza. If you have never been to New York this pizza won't ruin your day. Other than that its a weak bland version of the pizza you know And love from the north east. Skip it, there are better options.

NYPD is a small local pizza chain with a few locations all over Orlando. Orlando as a whole is not a great pizza town. There are a ton of pizza places but very few that are worth trying. NYPD is a place worth checking out. I really dig the atmosphere and the pizza is pretty good. Not great but one of the better pizzas you will get in this town. I've been to 3 of the other locations and one of the things I usually notice is that cops and firefighters like to eat at this place. That usually tells me 2 things: 1) they probably get a discount and 2) its probably a decent and safe place to eat. What kind of drags this palce down is the service. I've been to this particular NYPD the most because it's close to where I live. The waitstaff here is really spotty for some reason. It's a very small dining area so I can't imiagine its the volume but there are times you come here and they just dissapear. You gotta walk up to the counter and grab one of the pizza chefs to see if someone can get you a refill or some napkins. There are other times when the staff is outstanding. One thing I notice is there seems to be some pretty high turnover with the waitstaff so that may be part of it as well. Lately we have just been ordering takeout just to avoid the sketchy service all together. Overall its a decent pizza join with sub par service.

there is no prices on the web site and when i got the delivery , no itemized receipt. its kind of cheesy , did not like it. After owner contacted me, I feel like that place deserve more star then 2 . It makes me feel like someone care about the business.

A rude server in a hurry can affect your mood right before dinner thus affecting your taste buds. Came here with my wife and two girls and server made us feel rushed . After we ordered, waited about 45-50 mins for the server to drop off the two small pizzas without asking if we needed anything else which I did.(my soda was bad) next time we saw her she can to our table , dropped the bill again angry face no talking, then left. 20 mins later she came like a flash with the restaurant half empty, took our payment without even looking at us then brought it back without saying a word then went away. I noticed the other servers were happy and talking to their guest, so this review is based on our individual experience.

Finally tried this place a couple months ago with my sister when we were crippled with a great pizza craving. We ordered two medium pizzas - one was all cheese, and the other was something of a veggie pizza (had broccoli and such). Either way, it wasn't as great as I expected it to be, and the pizza I payed for (the veggie one) came out to be around 18 bucks. Overpriced if you ask me, and as I said before, not the most amazing pizza I've ever had. I'll eventually stop by again though for a second try, because it really is a difficult thing to mess up something as beautifully simple as great pizza.

NYPD Pizza turns out a good pie. Very consistant in food and service, this location has not let me down. My husbands favorite is the Manhatten Meat Lovers Pizza overflowing with pepperoni, meatballs, smoked bacon, homemade sauce and mozzarella cheese. It;s very filling and goes well paired with some beer. For a lighter pie the margherita or the Mariono wonderful. The Mariono comes with olive oil, fresh tomatoes, garlic, basil and mozzarella cheese. The crust on the pizza is wonderful and and enjoy their tomato sauce they put on the pizza. The calzones are huge I can only eat half for lunch, but they heat up nicely in a toaster oven for later. One of the better Pizza places in Orlando.

I love the boneless chicken wings and the eggplant parmegiana dinner. The pizza is also very good. Just wish they stayed open later...

Lunch here is a great deal, especially if you go with the slice of the day. Salads are good, and there's tea in the iced tea, so you can taste it. There's a large outside dining area in front that is quite pleasant. Service seems uneven, but not a show-stopper.

It's been years since I ordered a pie, so when my wife mentioned two days in a row that she was craving pizza I jumped at the chance. I used to work across the street from NYPD and always liked their pies and their customer service. For a small pizza place with a rotating staff, they have always hired friendly staff who really seem genuine. I went with a large margherita pie and a large greek salad. the pie was very good. As good as NYC or Boston? No. But still very good and one of the best I've had in Florida. The greek salad was very good as well. Far better than most pizza shops have. What I was most happy with, however was the fast, friendly service is still here. Smiles seem to be vanishing from service workers here in Orlando so it's good to feel appreciated. Cheers to you, NYPD!

Good pizza with a NY theme. Ordered a half mushroom and black olive pizza with garlic knots. The knots - soft, fresh and BIG. Nice drizzle of olive oil and Parmesan cheese. They came with a side of dipping sauce. The pizza - thin but not too thin. Good sauce and cheese quality. Toppings were fresh and the crust was good too. Not too hard and crunchy. It was nice and soft. I enjoyed the pizza and doubt that Orlando has a better NY style pie. The NYPD theme is corny but the pizza was good. It's awkward trying to take a piss with Frankie Blue eyes looking at you :) Our server didn't have much of a personality but I really didn't care. The pizza was hot and the drinks were cold. They deliver too!

Decided to give this place another try tonight as it is literally right across the street.. Another AWFUL experience, unfortunately. I got my order to go since I live so close, and when I got home and opened everything, the order was ICE cold. They told me thirty minutes after ordering, and I showed up after 25. The guy went to the back to get my order, and came back with everything instantly (the food obviously sitting there god knows how long). Manager was rude, and said he was oblivious since he didn't make my food. The fries were cold and chewy, and the pizza just tasted really funky, whoever made it was obviously very inexperienced. I really wanted to like this place, but sadly, never will. This place is still AWFULLY managed, and the food is even worse. On a Friday night at 7:00 PM this place was a ghost town, it probably won't be open too much longer. NEVER EVER EVER EAT HERE!!

The pizza here is pretty good but like most other reviews the staff needs some work. If you go in later in the evening they look at you like you're a bother. The guys behind the counter and in the kitchen are the worst. They are not welcoming. Once came here and the waitress spilled an entire glass of water on my mother in law. Now normally it would be hilarious but she wasn't even apologetic about it. Same night I ordered a salad which never arrived. But it sure was on the bill? Its a shame to cause their pizza isn't bad. And they make Zeppoles. Another place that got too popular all at once and forgot about something called customer service. Hello Paul this was about 2 months ago. I haven't returned since. There is a young lady who was actually very helpful once. And i told the guy who said he was the manager how good she was and this guy looked at me like "yeah so". I don't remember her name but she was very nice. He on the other hand was not.

I stopped in here for a slice and a beer. The decor is nice. A lot nicer than most pizza places. The restaurant was clean. My server Gabby was fantastic. My beer never stayed empty and my pizza was delicous. I'm not a fan of hot pizza, so I ordered a couple of cheese slices, warm. A lot of places always mess that simple request up. Not these guys! Did I mention that their wings are... forgettaboutit. Top notch. If you are nearby do yourself a favor and visit this joint.

We drove pretty far to eat here and the drive was worth it. On the way there I was day dreaming about how I would love to eat some really good pizza, and how it would kinda taste. When we arrived, our waitress, Mariah, was helpful and provided great service. My pizza was really good. I ate the whole thing, which I really should not be doing, but life is a happier place with yummy food. Do go if you have a chance and you will walk away full and truly happy you did!

This place was so delicious! After a not so tasty pizza slice experience at a local pizza spot, I was really pleased to go into this place with a couple coworkers and have a better experience. NYPD is located in a tiny little strip plaza (next to a Brazilian Sushi & Taco place... uhhhh WHAT?!), and it's a cute little corner shop. They have about 20 tables and a large counter area where you can see into the kitchen. When we got there, there was only one other table, but as we enjoyed our lunch, a few other tables came in and out. For lunch, they have a handful of specials, including 2 slices or a slice and a salad for just $6. I opted for a slice and salad, and their salad was so fresh and tasty! The balsamic vinaigrette was refreshing, and the slice was delicious. NYPD is by no means a fancy place. It's perfect for a quick lunch though, and their pizza is much tastier than the other local slicery! I'll be back...especially since they have a slice of the day, which features a different type of slice each day of the month! Yum!

This is your typical, casual pizza place and a great spot for lunch. We had two large pizzas for 7 of us. One was cheese and the other had pretty much everything on it. I have to say I was impressed with both but, although I am a self- proclaimed purist, I really enjoyed the pizza with everything on it more than the other.

OMG this place makes me believe in love at first bite! I am a pizza fanatic and I could probably eat it every single day. So when the craving hit for a slice of white pizza, I wanted to find a place that offered the best, and I found that at NYPD. I ordered a personal white pizza, the menu states that it feeds one, but two people can easily be satisfied with this option. It was so flavorful and cheesy, I'm drooling just thinking about it! I also had the opportunity to tray their calzone. It was a little pricey, but after tasting it, I'd gladly pay that amount again. The calzone with only cheese is at a base price and you pay for each additional ingredient. I called my order in and picked it up so I can not speak to their table service. The establishment was neat and clean and was decorated to the theme of NYPD and the walls were plastered with awards that they've received throughout the years for their food. It was near closing when I arrived, but the employees I encountered both on the phone and in person were very nice and knowledgeable about the menu and specials. I am definitely going to be a frequent customer here and would recommend it to anyone wanting a good slice! Checking in with Yelp at the Hiawassee location gives you two free garlic knots when you dine in

That's a good pizza pie! I prefer a little sweetness in red sauce so that is the only thing lacking for me!

Authentic NY pie! Light flaky crust with just enough crunchy. Great cheese slice and for a real treat ask for the Queens Deluxe it's stellar. The calzone is huge and very tasty as well. The service was fast and friendly as well. Thanks Ashley!

Dining in at this location is such a pleasure. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting; even my two-year-old daughter felt right at home. We were treated to excellent service by Mariah and food that was hot, fresh, and delicious. Very tasty pizza! I always get the classic cheese. :)

I love this place! They have a slice of the way for only a dollar and they have a calendar that tells you what kind of slice it is for that month. Their pastas are pretty damn good too. Make sure you try the garlic knots because it's the bomb!

These guys are on point 5-stars all the way, great pizza, cool atmosphere, and excellent guest service/guest relations! Can't ask for more from Orlando's best pizza joint (in my opinion and I've tried almost all of them literally)!

I have ordered pizza from here before and it was good but when I ordered the eggplant parmesan here recently, I was extremely disappointed. The price for it is around $15 and for that amount, I was expecting something very good but the entire thing was burnt and nasty. The eggplants were very thin and burnt that I could not eat it at all. The whole thing was pretty much black. Wish they check their food before putting it out there.

Service was great, we were greeted as soon as we walked through the door by the Sean the manager. The owner Paul was extremely accomodating. All of the ingredients are fresh. It smells so good in this place!

I love the service and attention I get every time I walk in =] So far, I've tried the Tri-State salad, wings, and just a couple of the specialty pizzas, which are all good (esp. the salad). If your going just for pizza, def. get the Mariano specialty pizza... its wonderful.

Went with family. My experience was being treated to authentic NY pizza in a fun place for the kids. We got a pizza and calzone. It was a Tuesday and we didn't realize they had buy one pie get one free on Tuesdays. So to say the least with two pies and a calzone we had way to much food. Not that it got wasted. We took it home in a goodie bag and have enjoyed the next day. Overall I would recommend this place if you want real NY pizza.

  • Stacey H.

Been ordering pizza from here for over 4 years now and Id say their pizza is one of the best in Orlando. Tho sometimes delivery can take a while and pizza is no longer warm. We still enjoy this place very much. Wish they had online ordering with coupon deals like the larger chains. This would definitely help produce more business and save me the time and hassle of calling in. Thank you.

  • Phil V.

I do so ludge this place when I'm looking for a fancier pizza. They're fast, friendly, and the food's just scrumptious for a chain pizza joint. The calzones are huge, and I've always had a soft spot in my heart for the pasta bolognese. I've tried a variety of the pizzas and have never been disappointed -- I'm not a pizza snob in the slightest, so I have no idea if it's authentic NY-style at all, I just know I like to put it in my mouth, chew, and sigh happily for a little while. If you eat in, it's a very nice decor -- rich dark woods and not-too-obnoxious themed crap on the walls, all in fitting with the NYPD theme. The service is also top-notch, they really exude a sense of caring for their customers, half the time when I call some of the guys answering knows my name and asks me if I'll have the usual, which is totally unexpected from a chain restaurant. It's especially impressive when I can go a month or two without eating there. If you're not a dine-in kinda person, their delivery is always fast and reliable. If you're ordering something that may take a while (ie, baked ziti) they'll tell you it'll be a little while. Either way, if you're in the area and need some pizza cravings handled and just want something better than Pizza Hut or what have you, try this place out.

NOTE: Thank you Damien S. and the Yelp Ops team! (06/12/2011) ----------------------------------- REVIEW (01/09/2008): I went out of my way in Orlando, several miles away from the tourist mob scene, to sample "the arresting taste of New York," the slogan at NYPD Pizza. The pizza at this MetroWest location won Best of Orlando over and over again. The theme of this Precinct (restaurant) is dedicated to New York's Finest with NYPD related decor including some artwork & memorabilia on the walls. The place has a Booking Desk (takeout counter/shirts & mugs for sale), Evidence Table (beverage area), Cells (kitchen area), and Captain's Office (manager's office). The menu offers NY style pizza, calzones, salads, soups, pasta dinners, heroes, desserts, Coke fountain drinks, beer and wine. Some current specials (01/08) are offered here including several lunch specials (pizza slices, soup, salads, with beverage) and the 2 For Tuesdays (Buy One Get One Free Cheese Pizza for dine-in only). The portions are good and the prices are reasonable. The NY style pizzas here are good (not authentic, but close) which have the thin crust you can fold and eat. I also enjoy the Pasta Bolognese ($9.99) served over al dente spaghetti or ziti, which has a hearty tomatoey and meat taste and comes with a garden salad. For dessert, the Pecan Friazo (layered hard ice cream with choice of topping: chocolate, Oreos, caramel, or pecans) is very sweet and cold. Jail food has never tasted so good! On my recent late evening visit to this precinct, the meal was very good and the service here was excellent, attentive and very friendly. The tasty food was brought out quickly and my Diet Coke was refilled. This NYPD gets very high marks since my hunger was the only thing arrested here and my waitress even offered and gave me a large cup of Diet Coke for the road since the place was closing at 10 PM. Great call!! NOTE: NYPD Pizza is in no way affiliated with the actual New York City Police Department

Finally!!!!!!!!!!!! I have found really yummy pizza in Orlando...after a long, ardous search! NYPD is awesome!!!!! I had the Bleu Cheese & Buffalo Chicken Specialty Pizza as well as the Pepperoni and both were A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! Also, the garlic knots here are not to be missed. I can't wait to go back and try different items because this place gets an A+ for excellent pizza at really low prices! The large pizza was 11.99 and the garlic knots were like 3 bucks, can't beat that! Oh, and I must mention, that the marinara here is to die for! It's a really rich nice tomato gravy, YUM! Make sure you get xtra on the side for the garlic knots or whatever you want! Goodfella's was my other pizza spot, but I may have found a new pizza love in Orlando...ahhhh =-P

Well I have been looking for a good pizza since I moved to Orlando. I found this place on Yelp and it got so many great reviews that I figured we would give it a try. After 30 dollars spent I wish we hadn't. We decided to pick it up and were told it would be ready in 30 mins. I ended up showing up 10 mins early and it was done which I thought was a good sign until I got it home and it was ice cold. I only live maybe 10 mins from the place. The garlic knots were burned and my salad was basically just a bunch of lettuce with few veggies in it. Maybe they were having a bad day but, I don't see us trying this place again.

    (1)
  • Kyla C.

Everywhere we go my husband has to find good pizza (it's a thing with New Yorkers I guess). He was a little leery since it's a chain but it was actually quite good. The garlic knots we got as a starter and they were garlicy and super soft. We got a pie with mushrooms, pepperoni and olives and my favorite thing about it was the crust: flakey but crunchy, soft and full of flavor. My husband liked this place so that says a lot. I liked the jail theme but our waiter could have had a little more personality. Overall tasty stuff for Florida pizza.

  • Amy K.

The pizza is soooo good here! I've always been more of a Chicago pizza fan myself, but this place makes me doubt my preference. Dining in is awesome and I love the lunch special-2 peices cheese pizza & soda for $5.00. The only reason I can't give this place 5 stars is that their delivery is super slow. The delivery drivers are always very nice, but it takes on average 1 hr+ to get your food. Not the place you want to order quick delivery from, but the food is often worth the wait!!

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
