The shrimp tacos and the sampler platter was delicious, but the refried beans served were cold. The salsa didn't taste authentic and seemed to have tomato paste or sauce from a can in it. The server also did not know anything about the origins of where their seafood is from. We had questions about the fish to know if it was local or not, and our server had no clue.

Visiting Orlando and needed some food off the resort. Came across the street to La Finca and was pleasantly surprised to have some pretty solid authentic Mexican food. I got the "La Finca Combo"- a skirt steak with grilled chicken, Spanish rice and black beans and salad. They refilled my tortilla chips twice as soon as I asked. I eat out constantly and I give this place a solid 4/5. Affordable, authentic Mexican food with quality service.

Found an ad saying come in and meet NEW OWNER Seeing as how the old owner was why I have not been back, though we would give it a chance, Almost did not go in,parking lot was empty,no new sign, said if we see the old owner we would walk out. First thing we noticed was new painting when you walked in the first door. In side ,right when you walked in was a Hostess station; new floor, table were the same but rearranged. Menu had new covers & some new dishes; Place seamed to be cleaner. Food was good, (green salsa was not the same) so was service, WE WILL GO BACK .

Ate here today after being relegated to expensive resort food. Doesn't have great curb appeal but is fantastic authentic Mexican food. We were the only ones there for the most part but we were well taken care of and again, the food was delicious. If I lived here in FL I would be a regular.

Awesome place .. We went there on Valentines night and got right in very quickly I found a free margarita for the birthday girl and the food was pretty good.. The management is very loyal because the birthday girl left her iPhone and when we called they said they were keeping it safe or when we got back to pick it up. Doesn't look that great on the outside but was pretty good on the inside

This place wasn't good. The beans were bland, the fajita chicken salad wasn't very good..it's like they scraped the grill and added it into the salad..a lot of dark brown crusty stuff..yuck! The beef enchiladas were dry and they were too salty. My son ordered chicken strips and they were overcooked and hard. The chips and salsa were good. I did get a free margarita on the rocks because I checked in on Yelp...that wasn't bad. The service was very slow and they got our order wrong...so one person had to wait for their food while everyone else ate.. It took way too long for our food to come and then we had to wait forever to get our check. We will never go back. The reason I give it a two star is because the margarita was free and chips and salsa were pretty good.

I'm Mexican, and I actually cook really good, so I tend to be picky with the "Mexican food" in the states, but this is a place that has the original flavor, if I have the chance I'll come back for sure

The food was good and authentic. We were slightly disappointed that they did not have the molcajete as mentioned in other reviews. The interior needs some updating and may turn away some guest. I would give it a try you will like it if you truly a fan of authentic Mexican food. I lived in Guadalajara Mexico for 4 years and this is as close as we have found in Orlando.

Awful awful awful. Salsa tasted like it was bought from Safeway. Our server couldn't get our order right... And never did. There were ants. I ordered a veggie quesadilla that had nacho cheese (the kind that goes on nachos at a sports game) and spinach when the menu says it got onions mushrooms peppers cheese etc. etc. I said this to her and she got a menu and read of out loud.. Said exactly what was supposed to be on it.. And yeah I told her.. Again... That what I had wasn't a quesadilla. she didn't charge me for if but I left hungry and annoyed. DO NOT RECOMMEND. They also tried charging us for things we didn't even order.. I will never go back.

TL;DR- Great flavors, poor execution. If you order something, don't vary from the menu. I ordered the 5 taquito meal: 3 beef, 2 chicken. They brought me four; I was missing a beef taquito. I mentioned this to the server. She went and grabbed a menu to confirm how many taquitos come with the meal! Why? I told her I wanted 3 beef and 2 chicken. What did she write on the order ticket then? Thankfully she didn't have an attitude about it. So she brings me two taquitos to make up for the missing one. One problem: she brought chicken taquitos. This was particularly hurtful because the beef ones were so tasty! I didn't feel like fighting any further. My wife didn't fare too well. She requested no cheese. They kept bringing her food with cheese! I want to come back here, but I'm honestly a bit scared to. If they sharpen up their execution, they can easily be 5 stars.

Best Mexican food I've ever had. We are staying at The All star Disney resort for vacation. I've had Mexican cuisine all over the eat coast and this is by far the best! I will definitely come back later this week before we head back home to DE.

We got In a few minutes before closing so it did feel awkward but the food was good the waitress was friendly and the margarita was great. I think it's under rated . It's not the best looking place but the food was good and came out fast.

First time to this Mexican Restaurant. we decided to finally stop in after living in the area for 2 years. the Curb appeal of this restaurant is horrible but we are always told not to judge a book by its cover! THE FOOD IS AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD! Very good food but the prices are a little high for a restaurant that attracts little to no traffic in this prime location! We ordered 2 combo platters and one with carnitas which was incredible! The portion was very large and the food was good quality. I do question the cleanliness of this restaurant because of the way it looks inside and out. Also I am not sure about the health standards here but again THE FOOD IS GREAT! We will return!

I stayed at the Caribe Royale for a conference and La Finca is directly across the street so I went over to pick up lunch. I went during the middle of the day on a Wednesday and there were only 3/4 tables dining. The place is cavernous on the inside so I suppose they get more traffic for dinner or on the weekend. I picked up take out so I cannot speak to the service but I ordered the steak and shrimp with refried beans and rice. The meat was skirt steak and the shrimp were sauteed in a sauce and poured over the steak. The meat itself was not prepared with seasoning so it was a little bland but the shrimp on top gave it some flavor. The portion size which costs almost $20 was large enough for two people. I eat Mexican food often and am originally from a state with a large Mexican/Mexican-American population so in my experience I would not say this is the best or worst--just okay. The biggest selling point is convenience if you are staying at one of the hotels across the street and are unable or unwilling to drive somewhere else.

Ate here twice during our 5 day stay in Orlando. The service was great, the food fresh, and the salsa homemade. Highly recommend.

I am sooooo picky about my Mexican food. This place was great! The absolute BEST salsa I have ever had! We went around 3:30pm so they were dead, not sure how service would be when they are busy, but the server was very nice :) we did get our free margarita from yelp so that was cool. Great white queso dip. Nice authentic food! Restaurant looks a little run down, but it's clean and the food is good, so don't be put off by the outside!!! Whoop woop! Another great Mexican find!!

Good affordable Mexican. Not much to look at from the outside but we had a good experience with food and service. We had the red and green salsa with chips, all was good. We did a late lunch at 3pm and there was only one other table filled. Atmosphere was fine, little awkward being so few in a big place. We order a combo plate with burrito and enchilada and grande beef quesadilla, we cleared our plates. No complaints on the food. Would recommend.

This food is wonderful. I have never come to any restaurant three nights in a row, but this trip to Orlando I did. We stayed across the street at the Caribe Royale and typically go to a different ethnic restaraunt every night but made an exception this trip. I had steak. Chicken, fish and shrimp tacos. They were wonderfully authentic with double corn tortillas, great salsa, fresh chips, and creamy retried beans. The Texas Jumbo Margaritas were very good also. Lots of room friendly staff. If you are staying anywhere near the Caribe and like authentic Mexican, give this place a shot for your entertainment dollars.

Out of towners trying to find a quick bite to eat after a round of golf ... That being said the drinks and food was superb. Even got a FREE margarita through Yelp! The waiter was friendly and food came out quick I got enchilada verde and hubby got chicken tacos. The only reason for the four stars was although the got his order right with no pico de gallo they didn't state that the chicken was cooked in tomatoes and peppers which he doesn't like.

I had passed this place a number of times and always wanted to check it out, and today was that day. Ambiance wasn't bad. You can see an attempt to theme the place. Service was great as our server was very friendly and prompt. Food was good. My daughter even liked their salsa, not an easy task. We will be back.

Food was pretty good. Service was extremely slow. Food took a very long time to come out and drinks were not refilled once. Waitress was friendly and seemed to be only one in entire restaurant however. Would not recommend. Two stars only because food was better than average.

Decent-tasting food (except the non-mexican kids dishes, which are pretty awful). Decent price. No character or ambiance. The nail in the coffin is that it gave me a headache which I expect is from MSG (mine usually are).

no no no no no don't waste your money. Over priced, dirty and nothing we ate was good. This place will be closed down my the end of the year. Please don't waste your money here. There is a better place on the 192 attached to the mexican market next to the india buffett. I can't remember the name but its true mexican food this is not.

The place needs someone with more experience running a restaurant. The server was very nice and friendly. The food was ok. I really hope they can pull it together so it can be a great place.. This place has been open for two months only.

I was in Orlando for a conference and this restaurant was literally right across the street from the hotel hosting the conference. There was only one waitress/hostess working at 6:30/7:00 on a Thursday night while the conference was being hosted right across the street so obviously a lot of people had the same idea I did. I felt really bad for her, but the service was just terrible. There was a sign out front that said "Happy Hour All Day Monday-Thursday" but when we asked about happy hour specials she told us "No" and walked away. We did margaritas anyway and they were delicious, but very expensive (like $10). We also tried to pay twice before the lady standing behind the register finally explained to us that we had to wait for our waitress (the only waitress in the entire packed restaurant) to check us out because she couldn't. Then we proceeded to wait another 10 minutes (NOT EXAGGERATING EVEN A LITTLE), just standing on the other side of the register from this decorative human. Why she was standing behind the register when she was essentially useless in this position is beyond me. The food was pretty good so if the service wasn't so pitiful it would have been nice.

Surprisingly good authentic Mexican food. I had the chef specialty - shrimp and whitefish with rice and salad. Friendly service and reasonably-priced. Not much to look at from outside, but spacious and clean inside. I would come back to this place.

I like this place. My wife and I go here when we are in the Orlando area three or four times a year. The decor and ambience leave something to be desired but the food is always good and we have always had great service. La Finca is a nice break from the phony and overpriced theme and chain restaurants. We will be back the next time we are in town. The prices are fair and the portions are large. This is good honest Mexican food.

This was formerly a Ponderosa and now has changed to La Finca. The place is huge. I don't ever see this place packed for that same reason. I have my Go To dishes all the time. The steak tacos with onions and cilantro. The green sauce is awesome and the presentation of the tacos were cool. The put the tacos in aluminum foil and fold the tacos together on the plate. Origami type stuff. Anyway, not the point. I liked it. It was good. True the owner is non existent when we go but the servers have been awesome. I have been several times. Brought a friend from DC and she loved it. Again, all I get is the tacos. Nice to have something different around the Disney area though.

2nd and last visit. Food is OK, service is bad. Ambiance is, well, non existent. When you enter you have to walk down this long hallway to the back of the restaurant where the host stand is. It is there you can see the very large, empty dining room. They literally tore up the old carpet and painted the carpet glue that remained on the floor. Their is a tile area in the middle where the buffet used to be. They used that space for a empty bar, not even a bartender. Even the ceiling above the bar screams "There used to be a buffet here!". There is not even much in wall treatments. On this visit when we were seated there was only 1 more table seated. Next to that table was a table with dirty plates and dirty glasses that stayed in a non-bused condition during our entire visit. Then the service. It is slow. There are minutes on end when you can look around and not see a single restaurant employee in the dining room. We ordered, they brought our food piece by piece, then left and never returned to ask if everything was prepared properly. One of us ordered Burrito Supremo that on the menu clearly stated it was made with steak tips. It was made with ground beef. Several minutes passed before we again spotted an employee come out of the kitchen. When flagged down she came over, looked at the plate, left the plate and then 10 minutes later brought another one. We were all totally done by then. Also one in our party ordered a 2 for 1 margarita. He ordered his free one and it never arrived. Finally I complained to the owner, who did not seem to care, about not getting the 2nd drink. It is way too stressful to eat here. If you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy a good meal this is probably not your place. You will spend way too much time looking around for help.

I really wish I could give this place a better review. Looks like this place was taken over with out any renovation. The place looks terrible. When you walk in, it feels like you are walking into a chinese buffet. After you go down the long hall as you look into the huge dead dinning room, you get a very bad feel to the place and a musty old smell. I really felt like leaving at this point but decided to move ahead. I really like giving family owned restaurants all the benefits of the doubt. However, this one was tough to overlook. What where they thinking opening a place looking like this? This is not Juares or Monterrey, you need to at least make an effort at decorating. Now, finally the food. I ordered nachos supremos, burritos, carnitas and quesadilla. The favors where actually good and presentation, portion, temperature, all are ok. Pricing is reasonable. Service was ok but very dry. No warm reception here. So, in essence, the food is fine but everything else needs huge improvement or they won't be around long. I wish them luck!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
