I took photos for this restaurant for a magazine. I met the owners of China Plate and they are really, really nice people! Their kitchen is also impeccably clean from what I could see, since I was right in the middle of the action. I didn't taste their food, but it looked good. :) Probably typical though.

We were looking for a Chinese Restaurant and the GPS led us to this place. We saw the sign for $4.75 for lunch and thought this would be some good Chinese fast food. Not so, rice is yellow with a little bit of pork bits and tasted bland. We had to literally douse our rice with soy sauce and sweet and sour to bring out some flavor. The shrimp dish I ordered had like 4 shrimps and the rest veggies. My hubby bought beef and same situation, little beef with a gang load of veggies. I guess if you wanted something to fill the tummy and had no need for flavor, I guess this would be the spot but.....I'd rather get a $5 footlong subway sandwich at least, they'll make it your way.

China Plate has been open for a few months now, and I decided to get delivery this afternoon for the whole household. They have a huge selction of dinner specials for 7.25$ and their menu, website, and restaurant (from the exterior) look preety nice. So we decided to switch from our usual take-out place and try a new business. I had the Garlic Shrimp with fried rice, and my hubs had the sesame shrimp with fried rice. The shrimp and sesame chicken was okay. However, the fried rice tasted like plain yellow rice (it was really yellow, no char and no soy flavor) with a few pieces of pork tossed in...there were no veggies, and very minimal flavor. We also ordered wonton soup...which had no shredded pork, onions, or bok choy. The wontons and broth were very oily, and the broth tasted very lemony...odd. I will tell you this...they have great customer service. The lady that took my order was very pleasant, the gentleman that delivered was very nice. And I guess the lady had accidentally typed my order as garlic chicken and not the shrimp, so they included a hand written note saying that the extra food was ours free because they had messed up the order.

China Plate is so close to my house that we order often, and every time I regret it. Like the other review said, their customer service is awesome. It's family run and there is often little kids running around the dining area. But the food is just so bland. The garlic broccoli and sauteed broccoli are basically the same over sauced dish. They're edible but never satisfying. The vegetable lo mein was disgusting.

The average price, portion and flavors that is a Chinese restaurant. Great delivery speed time. Accurate orders that I make online. Their noodles are flavorful. Lunch is cheaper even though it's the same portion size for dinner. There is a delivery fee and $15 minimum. They pack the food the containers so you'll have plentiful leftovers. It's got a bigger menu selection than other comparable Chinese takeouts. Good overall place for your night in watching Netflix.

When I first started ordering here the food was very good. The teriyaki beef steak was awesome but I'm not sure they have the same cook. Taste totally different. Probably won't order that again. But I do like the brown rice.

Average to OK if the following conditions are met: 1) Do not dine in. The place doesn't seem to have A/C, and in Florida this is the eighth deadly sin. There's one TV on the left side of the restaurant as you come in, usually with some cartoon on for the children of the employees. You will usually come into a completely empty restaurant, even though there's ample seating. There is a reason for this. 2) Do not get delivery. Just pick it up if you're ordering Chinese in this city, period. This isn't New York. Deliveries can take up to an hour or more (and I basically live across the highway from this place). They only deliver within a 4 mile radius too. There's also the typical $15 minimum, $2 charge and a tip only to have lukewarm food by the time it gets to you. 3) Don't expect 5-star Chinese food from what is essentially a 3-star take-away. Aside from that, the food is pretty good for what it is, and the portion sizes are rather large. I personally think they have some of the best fried rice. It's not as salty as typical Chinese, so the MSG doesn't kick you in the mouth when you eat it. It is a little pricier than typical Chinese take-aways of this quality. If you want something to pick up on the way home or at lunch, I say why not?

I really wanted to give this one star but the delivery time was good and the people were nice. The food on the other had was SUCH a disappointment. A part of my family is Thai, I've worked in Thai restaurants for years. This is an absolute insult to call any of these menu items "Thai". My friend and I ended up ordering from here on a Friday night after seeing that they delivered Thai food. Our order included a Thai Curry, some Pad Thai, and some "Thai" Fried Rice. It was absolutely disgusting. We had also asked for brown rice and ended up with white rice. The curry had no flavor to it at all. It didn't even resemble a curry base and the liquid part looked like they had thickened a broth with corn starch, I didn't even get a hint of coconut milk or Thai spices. There was barely any liquid curry in just a load of veggies and such with a coat of this starchy goo. The Pad Thai was like someone cooked rice noodles with onions & sprouts then covered them in sugar. There was no real flavor to it, just a mild, sweet pile of mess. The rice was decent but it seemed to have been cooked a way too far in advance. We literally ended up tossing it all out and ordering a pizza. You may have better luck with the Chinese food they serve but avoid the Thai items for sure.

We ordered food from here tonight and they told us it would be 40 mins...an HOUR and 40 minutes later our food showed up after having to call multiple times to see when our food would arrive. I will say- when the food arrived it was very tasty. Their spring rolls are yummy!

Just moved to the area and looked up this place. Food was really good happy with crabrangoon and general Tao. I like that you can buy small portions if you want which are big anyhow. They had great home made hot mustard and I like the brown rice option. I will come back again thank you for the speedy service as well!

I like to get carry out from China Plate. Its your typical Chinese food for a fairly cheap price. The food is good and filling but nothing special.

This restaurant was a Lil hard to find at first because the front of the building is parallel to 436. Came there during lunch which was convenient due to close proximity to work. I got the orange chicken lunch special it came with pork fried and a soda. Overall good value but the food was ok at best. Definitely a To-Go restaurant. There are plenty of tables to sit at but I wouldn't recommend eating in.

This is as typical as it gets. I can't suggest any dish in particular, and who needs my suggestion? You've had all these dishes 50 times. American Chinese food is nothing if not homogenous. Youuuuu L does not recommend eating in, and I agree. The place has potential for a sit-around kind of place. A little coffee, a few beers, some wifi (they currently have none of the above) and this would be a great place to kill 3 hours. But you know they won't. Why? Because it's the same Chinese food joint you've been to ad nauseum (literally?), in every podunk/bugfart crossroads in the US, and as Confucias said, "the nail that sticks out gets hammered back in."

I think it's easy to say that this is your typical, boring Chinese food. I'll give them credit, the delivery time was pretty good and the lo mein was decent. Nothing is gonna blow your socks off, but that's most Chinese takeout nowadays.

Really nice people and service here! Food is typical American-Chinese but tasty.

My friend and I decided to check out China Plate over the weekend. We ordered the egg drop soup, honey chicken and beef with broccoli. Great service and the portions were huge for the price as well as very tasty. Also we found the restaurant clean and presentable. We both would recommend China Plate.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
