Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

I love this place. The atmosphere is warm and intimate and the food is excellent. I usually get the pad Thai or Panang Curry. The spring rolls are really good too. My 3 & 4 year old love it as well. It is one of the better priced Thai restaurants in the area and definitely the best quality food.

I absolutely love this place. I used to eat lunch here 3 times a week for over a year when I worked close by. The service is always prompt and friendly, the food is very good. It's probably my favorite of the 4-5 Thai restaurants I have been to in the Orlando and surrounding area. I have brought guests here who also love it. I am a little more then surprised about the few not so great reviews so much so that I wonder if we're reviewing the same restaurant?? I even forgot my wallet one time and they were very gracious about it. My Favorite items are the Tom yum soup and the pad Thai... my mouth is watering just typing this up!

If you're a fan of Thai, try Soong Thai asap. Takeout service is excellent and quick, and I've never had a problem communicating with the staff on the phone. Service in the restaurant is superb. A friend and I have a standing dinner date here monthly, and the wait staff have learned what we like, which I find impressive considering how many people eat here. My litmus test for Thai restaurants is always their curry and their pad Thai, and Soong Thai aces both dishes. The curry is exceptional and presented beautifully. Their spice options seem very consistent with other good Thai places I've been to; if you like it hot, they will get it just the way you want it. The same is true of the pad Thai, which is the perfect blend of sweet and savory.

Warning, 'Thai hot' is 'Thai hot'. My gf and I absolutely love spicy food, however, our first trip here ended with us in tears and regretting that we had been born with tastebuds. We are very glad we built up enough courage to return (several times) and enjoy the tasty meals this place has to offer. Their sampler is always a great way to start your meal while a couple of their hits would be their pad thai and pad se-ew; just very flavorful dishes. A major hit or miss though can be their service. One night you'd receive the perfect amount of attention/refills while other nights would leave you a bit frustrated and puzzled. In my opinion it has not been bad enough to warrant a complaint or prevent us from returning, but it does prevent me from giving it 5 stars. Ps. Try their coconut ice cream

SOONG THAI!! Where have you been all my life?!!? First visit here and I wanna go back already!! This place is located across from the West Oaks Mall, it's a small restaurant but it feels like you're at someone's home and the waitresses are really nice and sweet. They were attentive and whatever requests we had they were able to do and did it with no hesitation. Food wise, I'm so glad I came with my family because I really wanted to try everything. Yes I may have came here super hungry, but going with a group is always better :) So here's what we ordered: -Panang chicken: BOMB DOT COM! Veggies were cooked perfectly and still had a crunch to them and the broth is what sold me. Can't describe but if you know you love curry then get this! -Beef fried rice & Tofu fried rice: YES. Just do it! -Chu Shee Snapper: Perfectly fried whole fish, you can ask with the fish bones in or not. We also asked for the sauce to be on the side rather than drenched on the fish. The sauce, the freaking sauce. -Amazing eggplant: AMAZING is right! Perfectly fried and crispy with the yummiest peanut sauce -Grouper (I forget the name, but it was on the special menu): something about the curry sauce was so addicting! -Crispy Duck: Ok, I'm not a huge fan of duck but this literally tasted like chicken. SOOO good! So as you can see, I really LOVED every dish. Everything was really really good and I can't wait to come back and try the other dishes!

Best Thai food ever!!! First time eating here and it just blew us away. The duck and seafood panang curry was soooooo delicious!!! Everything else is great!! Service was excellent!!! Definitely will go back and try more other dishes.

Well well well ... Where do I start!! Service: I believe this is a family owned restaurant, very friendly staff, suggested a good seafood plate from the menu for my wife which she loved, and checked back and forth throughout the meal to see if everything was ok. Food/main course meal: shrimp fried rice was great so was the chicken pad Thai. Seafood pad Thai, which was part of their dinner specialty menu, was AMAZING. As I commented on one of my pictures "if I had 100 pounds worth of pad Thai in front of me, I would have DEVOURED IT ALL" Drinks: jasmine tea was good, unsweet so you have to add your own sugar or maybe ask for honey as a natural sweetener. Girls ended up with - I believe - Thai ice tea which was creamy and very sweet. According to them it was "pretty good" and "awesome". Desert: for $5.95, we ended up with a fried banana desert; some sort of dough deep fried with banana inside it, covered with honey and sesame seeds, it made the perfect finish to an awesome dinner night.

I would give it a 5 if the wine selection was a little better. I have been there probably at least twice a month since moving to Ocoee. Oh yes and the prices are crazy very very reasonable.

  • Nora M.

I got the yellow tail full fish snapper with red curry on a bed of vegetable and Egg rolls and I absolutely loved them. I tried their Thai tea, it was out of a bottle, it's the first time I ever try Thai tea, it was sweet but I liked it. My friend Tried their pad se-ew and said that they probably like Thai food after today. lol I am rating the restaurant based on service and food and in my one visit I got a 5 star on both.

This IS the Thai place to be if you like Thai food ... We love this joint and eat here very frequently. The hostesses are awesome. Each dish actually tastes different. Love it

This place is amazing! Both the food and atmosphere. Best Crab Rangoon's EVER. My only complaint is it's really tiny, but its nice in a way, cute and cozy. Also a good tip is to ask for the spice tray and adjust your own spice because the food is HOT.

What a pick to have the whole family out, celebrating our Wedding Anniversary! Great customer experience, very nice staff, dinner was served within the 1st 10mins after the order was placed. Plus, the servers kept checking with us every now and then. Sometimes, the kids have an acquired taste, but I was surprised to see then eating without any complains. I so recommend this place, overall I rated it a 5 stars cause We were happy with the whole experience from start to finish.

The food and service as excellent!! Walking in we were greeted quickly. The restaurant is very cozy and clean. The soup and egg rolls were very tasty!! We each had a lunch and the soup and egg rolls are included... The food came out quickly and was very hot!! Both dishes were very tasty!! We would highly recommend eating here!!

I have two favorite Thai restaurants in the greater Orlando area right now: Siam Garden and Soong Thai. I love the flavors that Soong Thai offers, and that they actually make their food spicy. If their Thai Hot is still not hot enough, though, they do have the standard spice rack for your use. There is really good ambience at this restaurant, and service has always been friendly. The only issue we've had is the occasional slowness, especially when it is an extremely busy evening. I personally think the food is worth the wait. They offer the typical Thai dishes, but also other specialties. Their prices are higher than most Thai restaurants that I've been to but with similar portion sizes, so that's the one major negative. On the West Orange side, this is the best Thai option, and I would readily recommend them to anyone who asks.

I love this place. It's sooooo good. The restaurant is a nice, small, intimate dinning room. The food is delicious. I highly recommend. They also do take out so if you can't come in just order some take out.

Driving down hwy50 looking for something to eat. I ran into this gem. It's a small place and if I would have blink I would off missed it. I'm glad I didn't. The atmosphere was pleasant and the staff where nice. But the food was even better. I had the Pad Thai (a safe bet for thai food) even though pad Thai is very common not every one can do it right. They nailed it. It was awesome. Love it!

Stopped by Soong Thai for lunch on Friday. What great lunch specials! We enjoyed an order of Ginger Chicken and Chicken Pad Thai. Both were less than $9 and included the soup of the day (a delicious Chicken and Rice Soup) and Eggrolls. The Pad Thai was ordered with medium spice and they delivered perfectly on the request. Not too much or too little. The Ginger Chicken came with a great variety of vegetables including water chestnuts for a perfect crunchy element. Both entrees were garnished with a lovely purple orchid. A nice touch for just a lunch special! The service was prompt and the food came out quickly, perfect for a work-day lunch date. You could easily make it in and out under 45 minutes. Though I went with the pad thai for my first visit, there were many entrees that sounded just delicious. I can't wait to go back and try their peanut sauce! Only draw back (for my dining partner) was that there are no refills on sodas at $1.50 a piece, but they do state that clearly on the menu. Would absolutely recommend Soong Thai for a quick table-service lunch!

Haven't been to a thai restaurant in orlando in a while. The previous thai restaurant was in my hometown panama city. The food is delicious and really good! I went during lunch and ordered the garlic dish with the shrimp. I also ordered the mango/coconut milk/sticky rice dessert (dont know what it's called) .. All tasted amazingggggg!

  • Q D.

By far best Thai I've eaten so far!!! I've tried many other places around town to compare and the layers of flavor are incredible.. The papaya salad, and the peanut sauce on the Amazing eggplant is so scrumptious!

  • Rhea W.

My first time. Ordered appetizer sampler for two, chicken Larb, pad Thai and my friend ordered Pad Bamee. Everything was very tasty . Well done.

  • Michelle W.

Inconsistent portion size and ingredients in their Pad Thai. Especially when it is a to go order. It should have chicken and shrimp. No shrimp this time!?! And the portion was smaller than before. Also not as hot as "medium" usually is. Maybe it was a fluke?

The Amazing Chicken is, well, AMAZING! Best I've had anywhere along the I-4 corridor. Highly recommended!

This is one of my favorite places to eat. I usually go for lunch and the food is always amazing. The service is excellent and the decor is very attractive. I prefer to drive the extra few miles out of Clermont to eat here.

  • Dana D.

This place was decent. It made me laugh with all the random rule postings they had like $1 extra for no ice in Thai iced tea. We got the "Amazing" curry chicken and the chicken red curry. Both dishes were okay, luke warm. May be back if we're desperate for Thai.

Two restaurants I am madly in love with now are Sea Thai and Soong Thai. But let's get on to Soong Thai: great service, friendly staff, reasonable prices, and REALLY good food. Sometimes they are open until 10 PM or somewhere around that time, it's perfect.

We love love love thos place. The best Thai in the Orlando area. We drive from Kissimmee just for the Amazing Chicken and all of the delicious curry!

Not sure where to begin, but how about the ambience? The restaurant is lovely and the music is appropriate. Then the servers - are they family? Not sure, but dressed elegantly, they are polite, and they provide SERVICE. All this is wonderful but the clincher for me is food presentation - with elegant dishes, edible flowers as garnish - so by the time you eat your food, it's so fabulous and wonderful you want the experience to last forever. Portions are large, requiring a to-go box, which is great to savor the experience all over again the next day for lunch. My favorite go-to Thai restaurant in Central Florida.

  • Robert L.

Sorry Yelpers, I guess I hit this place on an off night. Service was VERY slow. Didn't time it, but was easily over 5 minutes before anyone came to take our order. At least 20 minutes before or food was ready, which i can accept if it came out hot. Our masaman curry was warm. The phad thai was watery. The flavor of the pad see ew was just ok. I will try this place again and if warranted revise my review.

This is the Best Thai Food restaurant in Orlando! Let me know if you find one better. I've kissed a lot of frogs when it comes to Thai in Central Florida. A lot of them taste like they have a Mexican chef. Nothing against a Mexican chef but they belong in a Mexican restaurant. Sorry, I want a Thai chef when I have a craving for Great Thai Food. This is my kind of restaurant! Family owned and operated. The food is authentic and delicious. You can't have a bad meal here! The Amazing Eggplant is, what can I say Amazing! I's all great!

Delicious!!! The best and most beautiful Thai restaurant I have been to! The service is wonderful, very sweet people there, and the food was incredible, I HAD to finish my entire meal right then and there. The place is beautifully decorated and has such a peaceful feeling. Papaya salad is a must! Gorgeous presentation, lots of food and you'll be more than happy to finish everything on your plate!

I've been here a few times in the past about 3 or 4 years ago. Service wasn't very good. Several tables that were seated after my table had gotten their food and left. Also we had to ask for menus. The most disturbing thing was that no one seemed to care that tables were seated and had left before we got an appetizer. Maybe there has been a change of management but I was not pleased with the service. The only reason why I gave two stars is because of the food was still tasty. But customer service is everything to me. I will look for another place to spend money on good Thai food.

  • Natasha A.

Spectacular! This is one of my absolute favorite restaurants. Although it is not very close to my home, it is well worth the drive for that Amazing Eggplant and Seafood Pad Thai. If I lived closer, I swear I would be there everyday. It is a small place, in a small shopping plaza, but the flavor and quality of service is unbelievable. No matter how many other places I try, I still find myself dreaming of Soong Thai! I would recommend this place to everyone!

Driving home from Orlando one night and looking for thai food. Did a quick yelp search and almost headed east on Colonial Drive to try out another place. SO GLAD that we changed our minds and headed west instead! Stumbled upon Soong Thai and we instantly fell in love with the charming décor and candle-lit tables. Our server, Ghoong (Sp?) was absolutely wonderful. She was so kind and sweet throughout our visit. Husband had the Pad Thai and I ordered the Red Curry with chicken. We arrived before 6 PM and received the complimentary salad with peanut sauce (yum) and the outstanding chicken & rice soup (wow!). Entrees were served on unique plates (see pics from other yelpers). Presentation was beautiful and elegant with a fresh orchid and carved carrot pieces. The Pad Thai was not a large portion but the flavor was delicious. The Red Curry was fabulous! Nice and spicy once I added the pickled jalapeno and thai chili peppers. We truly enjoyed the experience and absolutely WILL return. Happy to note there is no MSG used in their food.

Disappointing 1-hour long wait for takeout order + unapologetic host means this will be the last time we order from here. We were fans prior so your experience may be better than ours.

I've had my fair share of Thai food being from CA, so my expectations might be higher. I was here visiting family and they took me here for dinner. I was not impressed with the service and food. I found the food to be either too sweet or too salty. However, I have to applaud them for being able to live up to the level of spiciness. If you want it spicy, and don't mind the soup being too salty or the curry too sweet, then this is the place for you. Here is my review on the food: Tum Yum Soup - We ordered the pot of soup to share. The aroma of the soup smelled strongly of fish sauce. It was overly salty. I asked the waitress for hot water to dilute the soup. We added more than a cup of water and it helped. I shouldn't be adding hot water to soup at a restaurant. Red Curry with Chicken - The curry sauce was a little too thick and sweet for my taste. It was more similar to panang curry. If I wanted it sweet and thick, I would have ordered panang. Snapper Lad Prik - The fish itself was good, but the sauce was overly sweet. I think they use a lot of MSG or sodium in their food. We were all very thirsty throughout our meal. Service: The service wasn't horrible, but I think they can be more attentive to their customers. I had to ask for lemons 3 times before the waitress brought it out. She actually brought me limes instead. They refilled our water once and failed to come by to refill it again.

My wife and I love Thai food, and we were very happy when we found out that our new home would be near this restaurant. Finally we had the time to go there and try the food. Well, I just have to say that everything was perfect. The service was great, the waitress treated us like VIPs, the food was delicious and we will certainly go back many times. They also prepare food for take out, and the price is very good - for the quality delivered I expected to pay a lot more. If you like good Thai food and live around the Orlando area, you have to go to Soong Thai.

I requested them to make a tofu panang curry. it turned out amazing!! got the curry and ordered a side of brown rice.

I've been coming here for a really long time and it's been good always but this time their portions were kind of lacking. For the chicken and shrimp pad thai I got three shrimps.. For about $13 I expect a little more.

Ok, total hole in the wall. Decor was too dark! Egg roll was over cooked...however everthing else was perfect! Really really liked the food here.

While in Ocoee, take a trip to Thailand sucka! You don't talk Thai? No worries, they speak English! I have been going for years and have been treated to a pleasing plethora of house specialties and common favorites like Pad Thai and Phad See Ew. This classy little restaurant serves up tons of options, from Shrimp Tempura and Duck with Hot Pepper to Sauteed Bean Curd with Mixed Vegetables and Lobster with Ginger Sauce. Need to get your drink on? There is a myriad of select wines and beers to choose from. So man up and pick something new if you dare. Desserts like Soong Thai's Banana and Coconut Ice Cream are crowd pleasers and will have your lady worshiping you like a king after you depart. Impeccably decorated the dining room has a traditional Thai fair. The elegant milieu makes this little spot suitable for business lunches, dates, or romantic dinners that will turn your lady's frown upside down. The tab is moderate so it won't break your wallet either. If you get the larger servings Fido is going to be happy because you will be filling a doggy bag with left-overs before you leave. If your boy got lucky on his first date and you can't figure why, its probably because he took that gold-digging hoochie to Soong Thai!

  • Far S.

This is my absolute favorite Thai restaurant. It's authentic with great flavor! I love the thai peanut dressing on my salad, hands down the best! The chicken fried rice & shrimp pad thai are what I always order, never a disappointment. I'm repeat customer and highly recommend everyone to check this hidden gem out.

  • Shelley H.

LOVE Soong Thai!! Great Thai iced tea, food is soooo fresh and perfectly seasoned...careful- they know how to do Thai HOT...which I love, but if you want it mild they do that well, too. The place is small, so you may have to wait for a table- you won't regret it!

One of my favorite Thai restaurants. Food is tasty and very reasonably priced. Service is always good and the staff is friendly. Would highly recommend eating here if you are in the neighborhood.

Finally I have found a Thai restaurant in the Orlando area that is reasonably priced along with great service and great food. Thank you Yelp. The appetizer of chicken on a stick is absolutely delicious. They bring you your own little grill to warm it up and char it to your taste. The coconut soup is perfect with tons of vegetables and tender chicken. My panang was just spicy enough and full of flavor. My wife had the amazing chicken that was of course, amazing! Ocoee is lucky to have them in town.

  • Tim B.

Food was okay, service was terrible. I called in an order of Shrimp Pad Thai, with a little extra spice. The lady clarified, so medium? And I said no, hot please. I arrived in the restaurant 25 minutes after I called (I was told 20 minutes), only to find out my order had never been put in. A girl urgently screamed to the back for a shrimp pad Thai and it came out - as a chicken pad Thai. They went back and remade it and it came out as Shrimp Pad Thai. Without any extra spice, when I ask about the extra spice they admitted they forgot and gave me a small side of a crushed red pepper like you would see in an Italian Restaurant. After returning home and sampling the food I would rate it average for Thai food, it was rather bland, and tasted exactly like it was thrown together as fast as possible after a mistake. Just admit your mistake and prepare the meal. Don't try to convince me, "it is almost ready" as you're calling the order out to the chef right in front of me. I rate pretty leniently, but after the poor service, the food just wasn't good enough to convince me to come back.

    (2)
  • Purnima A.

I love this place!! Nice and quiet! The food is always good and I have no complaints about the service. The drinks came so fast I was shocked!! It was like it was a little magic trick! Appetizers soon after and then about 15 mins later we got the entree. I do remember waiting a while for the entree when we hadn't ordered the appetizers a while ago. I almost always get the chicken red curry cause I love it. And the portions are huge, there'll always be left overs. I tend to get medium spicy cause' hot' can get too spicy and mild is a little too sweet. I definitely recommend!!

The service staff was friendly and attentive. Flavors were good and portion sizes won't leave you hungry.

The best Thai food in Orlando. I can't say enough about it. Their hot chicken pad Thai is my favorite food. Not just any hot chicken pad Thai, THEIR hot chicken pad Thai specifically. If you've never tried Thai before, come here first. You'll love everything on the menu and then become a total snob at any other Thai restaurant because you've already had the best.

    (5)
  • Natasha T.

Hands down best thai in orlando! I love the chicken pad thai especially and the red curry shrimp. Visit at least once a week. Very small location, family operated with about 12 tables in total. I have tried pad thai all over Orlando but there is absolutely no better pad thai. The plate-ware is also very pretty and interesting, modeled in the form of fish with white and blue colors to enhance the design. The staff dresses in traditional clothing which adds to the experience if you eat in but they also do a lot of take out business. This is my local spot!

    (5)
  • Jessica M.

Good Thai takeout. It's a small quiet place and I haven't eaten here. They need some music or something, or maybe it's better when it's busy, I've only picked up food on my way home and it's always strangely quiet inside. Hubsters favorite pad thai.

  • Matt M.

Great food, recommended by my sister. So we got take out from there and it could not have been better. The food was extremely well prepared and our order was ready on time. My favorite was the Drunken Noodles, which I found fantastic. Give it a try if you are in the area.

I am a huge fan of thai food...been eating it all over the country since I was a child (20+ years). Soong Thai's food is good - just good. It's not great. But, their service was great and you really can't beat the value you get here. The prices are very good, especially for the quantity you get - you even get a free soup and salad. It's quite amazing. For these last two reasons alone, I will be back. As an update, I did go back and the food was much better. During my first visit, I got the voon sen salad. It was not very good - loaded with cucumbers. Cucumbers?!?! I have never had a voon sen salad with cucumbers in it. Honestly, it threw the whole taste off. If the salad didn't have those cucumbers though, it would've been good as the dressing and all other ingredients were spot on. I also got the lad na. That was just ok with the chicken a little more tough than I expected. The flavor of the sauce was just ok but I did say mild, so that may have been why. During my last visit though, I decided to switch it up. I got the tom yum goong soup. It was great. Loved it. Perfect. I then had the pad thai for my main dish. Again, it was perfect. So, it may be a little hit or miss with exactly what you get. Some food is great and other food just ok. But overall, I still recommend this place. Historically, I've had more consistently better meals at Thai Thani (on international dr - starting at least 7 years ago). But this place is closer to me now and cheaper.

This is an excellent Thai restaurant. It's always busy at lunch, and yet the servers are always super efficient and kind, and the food is served promptly. They offer a long list of lunch specials, including many Chinese items for those who don't like it spicy. And their extensive ala carte menu is filled with great stuff. Everything I've ever had here has been excellent, but my favorite is the shrimp in red curry. Lunch comes with a cup of soup that is a bit like wonton sup, but with super fresh ingredients added at the last minute, and it is slightly different every time. Subtle but delicious. Easily the best Thai on the west side.

  • Justin H.

I love Thai food, so happy this is near my house. I had the pad Thai...definitely met my expectations! My partner had the pad bamee and enjoyed his meal as well. We can't wait to go back and try other menu items. If you're in the area, definitely give Soong Thai a try!

Delicious. Affordable. Call first if possible. I always have to check their hours though because I've gone 3 times (without thinking) and they were closed in the middle of the day.

I tried Soong Thai recently for the first time. As I went during lunch, I ordered one of the specials. As a vegetarian, I LOVE thai food-its usually got a ton of options and most thai restaurants are willing to work with you. Soong thai did indeed give me a tofu option but charged me a few bucks extra for each portion. Now, if Im not getting meat, why should I be charged extra for tofu? Doesn't make any sense. Also neither the egg roll, nor the soup (with the lunch special) are vegetarian. Most thai restaurants do allow an option to supplement for a veg option. Then the waitress forgot part of my order for the togo portion. She was kind of spacey. The food I did order (massaman curry with tofu) was tasty (Yeah!). My husband's spicy red curry was average. I would have loved to give this place 5 stars as orlando is definitely lacking in good thai places but please have some common sense. Does anyone know if this place is run by Thai people or some new management?

Amazing.... This place has four or so dishes that starts with the word "Amazing". Let that concept sink in for a bit - while you snort down on their killer appetizer: "Soong Thai Sampler! ($9.95) Gee, I was not expecting a bang up bargain really. You get 2 of all these: fried shrimps, a curry rangoon bag things with maybe some crab meat (the curry based filling is legendary yum- dang near AMAZING. This is GREAT STUFF ) , a triangle thing with a meat filling that was hard to identify the species of protein contained within, but was good! Oh, and two other fried roll things that were meh, okay. Now why would you try ANYthing else on the menu when entrees are named Amazing... blah, bah, blah? I succumb; and went for the AMAZING beef w/ Broccoli w/ peanut sauce.($10.95) Portion is okay and the mound of white-rice helps do a booty good I'm sure. Well I'm afraid something must be lost in the translation here cause AMAZING just overreaches a bit - yes IMO. The beef was good, tender and thin and the broccoli was - just undercooked, but AMAZING? Mercy that is some thick chit laid on there. The peanut sauce, was peanutty okay, yet, wtf is this TOO SWEET thing going on? Actually any sweet is "way wong" folks. I wanted a dinner not a dessert. It really was close to Butterfinger sweet. I'm afraid the garnishes are so grand, it concerns me that they might half to be recycled. PLEASE UNDERSTAND, my garnishes had NO indications of this foul play - just that they are done so well. Sorry, I couldn't defile my delicately carved creations tho I bet the health dept. would prefer that we all would. I'll try the Sampler again and steer clear of anything "Amazing" next time. Friendly server Lee, gave us good service while the place was pretty busy for a Wednesday night!

I had the Chicken Red Curry (medium spicy) and it was great!! Seasoned to perfection. I'll get it a little spicier next time. I had carry out and my only complaint would be that the container was only about 75% full and they only gave one ice cream scoop of rice. For 11.50 it was more like a lunch serving. I'll try dining in next time to see if the portions change.

What a terrible experience. First some background -my wife is Thai (born and raised) and I lived in Thailand for several years, so we know and cook Thai food. I ordered Green Curry Chicken, and asked for it to be prepared "Thai hot". What they brought was mild at best, so I asked them to re-cook it. The waitress suggested I just add some dried chili flakes from the bowl on the table. Are you serious? I asked her to send it back to the kitchen and have it recooked properly. A few minutes later (too fast to have been recooked), it came back. Now my green curry was brown, as they dumped some hot sauce in it and sent it back out. It was horrible. How embarrassing - if I owned this place, I'd be mortified. My wife ordered Yum Nam Sod, which was Americanized, with the wrong balance of flavors. It had barely a hint of spice either, although she ordered it hot. She also had Tom Yum soup, which was equally off-flavored. They serve a "Thai salad" before the meal arrives. Lettuce with a sweet peanut "dressing" reminiscent of the sauce normally served on grilled chicken sate - no such "salad" is ever served in Thailand. Another giveaway of an Americanized Thai place. There is a huge difference between authentic Thai and the "Americanized" version. There are several great Thai restaurants in metro Orlando - see some of my other reviews - but this isn't one of them. If you don't know real Thai food, and the first thing you think of is "Pad Thai" (street food in Thailand, the Thai version of a hot dog cart - almost never served in a restaurant), then you might like this place. Plenty of other people seem to. What a shame.

Excellent local Thai food. Nice and spicy. Have not had a bad meal here yet. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone that loves great Thai food!

LOVe, Love, loVE me some THAI! This place seems to have a handle on their Thai. I have experienced such disappointment with the cuisine since moving here to central Florida, but this was a very pleasant surprise! Very delicious and satisfying. . . The dining area is very elegant and intimate, and the server really went out of her way to make sure I was happy with my selection---that she understood exactly what I wanted. I appreciate that! AND it was quick!!! Look forward to returning for a sit down meal. . .soon, and very soong!

What is there to say that hasn't been said? The place is amazing, food is great, and atmosphere is on point. My coworkers and I order take out from here about once a month and there is never a bite to eat left in anyone's container.

Very good. Prices are not bad at all for quality of food. Never had a problem with the service. Had several different dished and have been please with all of them. My wide is a vegetarian and they have a nice selection for her and they will make accommodations.

Great find. Visiting the area and had a yearning for Thai. Went for lunch. Relatively small place. Just a few patrons when we arrived but it was packed by the time we left. We both had pad Thai. Cooked to perfection. I asked for medium heat. Such but not overpowering. Good size portion for lunch. You won't leave hungry.

Went with the family here last week.. I've been here a couple of times... family is under the impression that it is under new management.. since I just moved back I can't really say... We were a group of 6 that came in an hour before they closed. We ordered a little bit of everything, from Crab Rangoon, Spring rolls, Snow Peas noodles, Seafood Pad Thai, Beef with Red Curry, Shrimp with Black Pepper Sauce, and a duck dish have no recollection of the name since my father ordered it and I am not a fan of duck... I ordered the noodles with Snow Peas which is their version of Pad Kee Moa.. I asked for it hot and it wasn't.. It was hot for the rest of my family but for me eh not so much... The Crab Rangoon was really good too.. crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and tasty! I was pretty full so I didn't try any of the other dishes but everyone seemed happy... They were very attentive and friendly but it did take awhile for the food to come out... From what I understand for Orlando this is some of the best Thai... Now don't get me wrong it was good and I would eat there again just wasn't NYC good..... This is a bit unsettling since I am a Thai Aficionado and I am hoping and praying Orlando has some secret hidden gems for some Thai food... and if it's out there I will find it....

My absolute favorite Thai restaurant! I would definitely recommend the seafood pad Thai and their Thai iced tea. The service is excellent and so is the food. Every lunch order comes with a chicken and rice soup and an egg roll. It isn't an expensive restaurant. I used to have lunch there once a week. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area.

After a few times ordering take out, I decided to dine in on a Friday night. Its a small intimate restaurant. The food was fantastically presented. Very pretty plate arrangement. The food was also tasty. However, I must admit I have other favorite Thai locations around town. This restaurant, while it fits the bill while I am in Ocoee, I am not too convinced that this will be my #1.

I have been here a few times and have been happy with each visit. I have had red chicken curry and pad thai, ordered Hot both times, and there was definite kick to them. The red chicken curry is my favorite dish. It is well balanced and the rice that comes with it is cooked well. There is enough spice to let you know you have tastebuds and get your nose running a bit, but not so much that you need an ice pack on your lips for half an hour after (if you order hot... ordering Thai Hot red curry here is only advisable for the spice lover). Their water glasses are a little bit small, but the refills come fast and the service has always been good.

We came last night after hearing that this was the best Thai restaurant in orlando I ordered the seafood pad Thai. Kudos to The scallops being decent sized and the shrimp tasting fresh. However the portion was rather small and I was finished eating in half the time that my friend was My friend ordered the eggplant seafood platter. Since this dish cost $8 more than my entree, one would think her dish would have more seafood. Au contraire. The amount of seafood could be consumed in two spoonfuls. The eggplant was not very flavorful and the vegetables were the reheated frozen type. The manager did comp us a free ice cream but this dish was a letdown considering how much she loves seafood. All in all , a rather disappointing dinner because of the scant amount of actual seafood

Stumbled on this place for Valentine's Day lunch. The decorations were lavish, slightly ironic, but mostly adorable with a large chunk of class. The lunch menu was diverse. And, though not on the menu, a lot of it is available a la vegetarian. Service was impeccable until the staff sat down for their lunch. Regardless, I can't wait to go back again. Delicious, delicious, and the presentation is just as legit. Still thinking about my tofu panang curry, which came in a deluxe fish shaped plate! Woot.

Do fish have cheeks? That is our quest. We ventured into Soong Thai looking for a good Asian meal. We are not that versed in Thai cuisine but enjoy trying foods from other cultures. We like to order meals that we do not cook well ourselves. I've never mastered the art of good fried fish so we decided to try the fried snapper. What a presentation! Much to our surprise we were presented with a whole fish! Head to tail! They graciously covered it's eyes with a tomato slice. Thank you very much! After admiring the presentation we decided to give it a go. This was pure fish perfection. We ate the whole thing or so we thought. The server came to clear our plates and we got another surprise. She asked if we wanted to take the rest home. We look at each other kind of funny both thinking what would we do with a fish carcass? We politely declined, paid our bill and left with full happy stomachs. The next day at lunch I mentioned to a coworker who is Filipino our experience at Soong Thai and after a few questions I realized there must have been two sides to that fish. We never thought to turn it over! Plus, we apparently left the real delicacy on the plate - the cheeks!?! Who knew? Well, about a month later we decide to return and again ordered the fish this time preparing to eat both sides. We finally finish what we think is every last morsel. I even bravely ventured to pry under the gills looking for cheeks and seriously? I didn't see anything that looked remotely edible. We place our napkins to the side, sit back contentedly and again are asked if we want to take the rest home! At this point we think we are part of an elaborate joke but no matter. The food is so flavorful, the staff so professional and pleasant that we will gladly return. One of these days we will go with a Thai food aficionado and hopefully find those elusive cheeks!

If you are in Ocoee area and are craving Thai food this is probably the best place to go. I like this place because it is close to my house. The portion of food is on the smaller side of what I am used to at Thai restaurants, but they do make the food pretty with real Orchids. I've only been here three times and for some reason even though it's right by my house and the food and service is great. I think it's because the portions are too small for the price and I feel like I am paying too much. Now that I think about it, I never had to have a take out box the three times I've been there. Maybe...it's because I leave there hungry! Either way, try out this place...the portion may be perfect for you.

This place is horrendous!!!! I mean that from the bottom of my heart. The service is horrible. I was the first person in the restaurant but received my food last. Does not make any sense at all! I waited over an hour! The owner is racist against Asian people. They discriminate against us. The waiter refilled all the females but not the males. What a pervert. Most of their food is way tooooooooooooo sweet. I came to eat dinner, not dessert for dinner. This place made it to my list of the top worst restaurants ever. DO NOT GO HERE! You're better off spending your money at McDonalds across the street. They discriminated against us because we weren't american. Overpriced for no reason. If there was a way I could rate it -5 stars I would.

My boyfriend and I came here (already full from eating earlier), but we couldn't help but to order more food here. We both had the Lad Nah with beef. YUMMY! The noodles were perfect and soft. The flavor of the dish was just right. I love the decor and look of the restaurant. It's cozy and authentic. I would recommend this place for those who are visiting Orlando and who are wanting to get away from the touristy crowd.

Ordered good for take out. The restaurant doesn't have take out menus which I found odd for future orders . The food was really good but the soup was really bad without taste. Overall we really enjoyed our meal just would like a Togo menu.

what an absolute disappointment!! this restaurant has changed cooks. we had eaten here at least 4 times and were so excited that is actually was close to food eaten in ....yes ....Thailand! no more, that's all i can say, meat was hard to chew and swallow, i had the waiter bring back thai pad noodles to the cook it was so horrible and the cook actually said...too bad that's the way it's done now. OMG!!! now i must tell you the noodles which should be long and fresh were mushy, old cut into tiny pieces!!!!!!! not noodles anymore, just awful never, ever. i feel for the owners really, they need to bring some one in that can cook or call GORDON!!!!!

Really great food and service. (This is coming from someone from the foodie Mecca that is the Bay Area in Cali) The people working here are very nice--all smiles and courtesy. The restaurant was also very clean with a nice Thai ambiance (not that I know what Thailand looks like...). We ordered Panang Duck, Chicken Green Curry, and Basil Noodles (forgot the actual name of the entree). All three tasted really great, and the portions were large. Naturally, we were quite satisfied, so we'll be back. Btdubs, if you are not a fan of coconut milk... stay away from the curries and stick to the noodles. I think I need to visit Thailand just to see what I expect will be an incredible amount of coconut trees..... Anywho, two thumbs up for Soong Thai.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I signed up just to write this review. Saturday night I called for take out at 9:50 and was told they are closed - I knew they closed at 10 and it was a long shot but I wanted to try anyways. Sunday we decided to just go there for dinner. I noticed a sign on the door that said last seating on Sunday was 8:30, even though the hours of operation were until 10. It was 8:31 when I looked at my phone so I went in and asked for a table for three and a sling and I was told they are closed. So I showed her my phone still on and said it's 8:31 - really one minute? She just said sorry. So I walked out all annoyed while my husband was at the door with the car seat. He then went in and tried to explain the fact that we had an infant we were trying to get out the car etc (she was almost 10 weeks old and this was our first attempt to go out for dinner). She told him sorry her clock says 8:34 and we could order take out but refused to let him speak to the manager. So we left and went to Olive Garden instead. So disgusted by their behavior.

I've been here a few times and it doesn't disappoint. I'm not adventurous and I stick to the Pad Thai which is pretty good here. I've only been here for lunch. A Yelper mentioned how they go there and it's closed when they do--its because the kitchen closes and the workers in the restaurant take a break. That's the beauty of your own business and I actually admire that. My only complaints are that its a litle pricey (in comparison) and its really dark in the dining room.

This is the place to be when you want authentic Thai Food. I've visited a couple of Thai restaurant here in Orlando but this one is on top. Not only the price is better than the others and the tase is way above the top. When you go here do try the THAI Tea and the Crispy Duck on Curry Sauce... just absolutely delish!!

When we have to fly in and out of Orlando, I try to plan our flights so we can squeeze in a lunch or dinner here. Everything is to die for, especially the pad thai. Great lunch specials, great service. The soup is always delicious too. We'd have to be tied down if we had Thai this good in Gainesville!

For how many times I've gone to Soong Thai, its about time I give them a little love. They've got to be my favorite Thai restaurant ever. I should probably also state that I really just like Pad Thai. I haven't even tried any of their curries but people say they're great too. Service is pretty good too, very small dining area makes for a cozy feeling. During lunch, they give spring rolls as appetizers if you get one of their lunch specials. They were just all right. Tried some calamari as well and it was pretty standard stuff, just battered and fried with a sweet chili sauce. If this was all they had to offer, I wouldn't even bother writing this review. Let's skip right to the good stuff: Chicken Pad Thai. Where to begin? The dish looks awesome. I swear they've killed thousands of orchid plants because each time they've got a flower as decoration. I'm pretty sure you could eat it too. Very fancy-cut carrot made to look like flowers also make for a cool, edible decoration. The chicken: tender, and flavorful. It seemed to integrate into the dish perfectly. The noodles are always tender and never sticky, soggy or hard. The veggies are all cooked perfectly to make a very harmonious dish with plenty of texture. The aroma is unforgettable, especially if you like it hot. And their "Thai Hot" is really, really hot! Makes me sweat just thinking about it. The ratio of noodles, veggies and chicken is perfect. I never felt like I had too much or too little of one or the other. Perfectly blended so that every bite is a great one. Finally, the thing that really makes this Pad Thai stand out from all the rest (Thai Silk/Red Bamboo, SEA Thai) is the layers of flavor. You can taste every bit of what they've used to make this dish. I can taste the tanginess of the limes and tamarind. The spiciness of the peppers. The putrid smell of fish sauce (I generally really hate fish sauce alone, but in their Pad Thai, its very subtle and enhances the entire dish). The sweetness of...sugar, maybe honey. Every flavor you'd expect in the dish is there, and you can taste it all. I should add that it has never been bad. Even when I made the stupid mistake of asking for "Thai Hot". Start low and go slow with that heat, otherwise it will mask all the other flavors! Price-wise, its less than $10 for lunch. Stop in and give them a shot! The dinner portion is a bit larger and about $15. Its a huge dish but its so good that I've never had leftovers. I've been to Thai restaurants other than in Orlando too, but there's just none that can make Pad Thai like Soong Thai can. This is a must-visit, even if its waaaay out of your way.

I was not a big Thai food person, well I am now. This is the best Thai food ever beautiful little place and the staff has become like family to me and my many friends I have brought here. I have moved to NYC and have yet to find a Thai place I would go back to. I miss my SOONG THAI.... Give a try you won't be anything but thrilled and looking forward to the next time you can go back.

I LOVE their chicken pad thai. It is in Ocoee, right across from the West Oaks Mall. I have tried both the seafood and chicken pad thai. Although I love seafood, seafood here tastes rubbery, bland, soggy, and tasteless. Definitely get the chicken pad thai!

Went here while on vacation in Orlando. The best Thai food I've had anywhere. Service was fantastic. Decor is very nice & romantic! Crab rangoons were different from what we normally have, but still very good! The staff were so nice - it's clearly a family-run restaurant. We would definitely go here again!

While the location is a bit remote for Thai enthusiasts, Soong Thai is certainly one of the best hidden gems in Central Florida. The interior is beautifully decorated with authentic embellishments. Though there are only twelve tables, it's usually not overcrowded to the point where patrons have to wait very long. The Tom Kha Gai is spiced just right and all the traditional Thai dishes have a complex sweetness that accentuates the spiciness. Pad Thai and Pad See Ew are refreshing and the curries have just the right amount of thickness to maximize the flavor of the meat. Panang Duck is a definite winner.

Thanks for the good ratings... needed some takeout tonight and this rated well, relatively close to where we are staying. Pad Thai and 2 Friends Penang, sooo good. Be careful with the crab rangoons, they come with curry inside and I do not think the menu warned us. Will definitely be back.

This is some of the best Thai food I have ever had. Everything I have had there has been delicious. There is a nice mixture of specialty and familiar foods. I recommend that you try the fried rice (yes I said fried rice) and I especially like their whole fried snapper and the Hor Mok Talay (assorted seafood in a thai basil sauce). They will honor special food requests to some extent ( ESP for allergies or spiciness) but they really don't do substitutions- However, the way they make it is perfect, trust me. This is the kind of food that just makes you feel good. Delicious and fulfilling- Go get some now!

I read all the great reviews about them, so I got took out lunch. The lunch take out portion for their Pad Thai is just... measly... For $9+, that lunch felt much more like an appetizer barely enough to fill the tooth gaps. Called the order ahead, and still had to wait a bit for the food. I was only one of two customers! Not that impressed.

I live in Orlando, but Soong Thai is well worth the drive to Ocoee, and it's where I take my out of town guests for Thai. Located in a strip mall next to a Mattress Giant in Ocoee, the food, service and ambience cannot be beaten in these parts. The presentation is delightful, especially on the nights when they take a carrot and turn it into a work of art, such as a rose or a bird in flight, placing it perfectly on the plate next to a gorgeous orchid bloom. The staff is exceptionally nice and attentive, but not overbearing. We usually try a duck entree, but there are plenty of other excellent selections on the menu.

By far, the best Thai food in the Orlando area. I love this place. I gauge all my Thai food by two dishes: Panang Chicken and Pad Thai. Both are the best I've ever had. I would seriously recommend this to anyone in search of the best in the area! Oh, the Tom Yum soup rocks too!

By far, the best Thai restaurant ever. Lovely ambience and fabulous dishes. Service is exceptional - I love how the servers bring steaming bowls of rice every 15 mins and serve you at the table. Try the Hurricane Shrimp - a bit pricey but completely worth it.

I eat at Soong Thai about twice per month since they opened and have yet to ever be disappointed with either their food or their service. The spiciness of the food can vary a bit more than it should (I order Thai hot) depending on who's cooking but this is the only negative I can think of and that's pretty minor.

I love, love, love this place. My gluten free boyfriend can eat here...albeit only the green curry chicken. It is always fantastic. We are regulars. They have catered to our gluten free intolerance...although it depends who is there answering the phone if we want to order some steamed chicken and vegetables without sauce. We are always picking up our order. The nam sod, pad thai and duck salad are delicious and always consistent.

My wife and I moved back here from San Francisco, where we were spoiled with great Thai restaurants. First, the ambiance was nice as this place is decorated with an authentic Thai style. Our meals were very good. We had seafood special that had just the right amount of spice and loads of seafood. The Pad Thai was very tasty, but a bit saucy (personal preference).
