The Q here is decent. The owner is too big of a jackass to bother doing business with. I've been Trying to eat here off and on for 2 years. They are supposed to be open til 6 PM (What damn restaurant closes at 6 PM?!) but the owner can't be bothered with actually you know, staying open when he Says he's open. Worse yet, no telling when he closes. They can LOOK open and not be selling. I don't need BBQ This Bad no matter how much I LOVE it. If the owner cares this little for his business and his customers then there's no reason for me to give him my money anymore.

Ok, I don't give out five stars very often, and I am extremely picky about BBQ. I had seen some reviews on my cell phone last week looking for BBQ and found this place... but we were on the wrong side of Ocala. Fast forward to yesterday, I was by myself travelling from Orlando to Gainesville and decided to stop by and bring it home for a reheat meal for football on New Years Day. I may have gotten a sandwich as well for immediate consumption. I wasn't really hungry when I stopped, so I got a beef brisket sandwich and half a rack or ribs. The ribs, cooked perfectly, not too fatty. The meat comes off the bone easily but doesn't fall off and still had some firmness to it. Like I said, in my opinion, cooked perfectly. No sweet sauce slathered, light dry rub, not spicy and a lighter wood/smoked flavor. They were excellent. I heated them up in the microwave a few minutes ago and still had a better consistency than any of the places around Gainesville. The sauce is on the side, a little spicy, a little sweet and a little smokey. Pretty unique flavor I can't explain. I personally prefer a mustard based sauce. However, You don't need much sauce at all for the ribs.... Ok, so here is where the retired officer with the perfectly groomed hair gets five stars.... The Brisket Sandwich from Heaven I have never had brisket that I truly thought was excellent until now. The sandwich probably had about 1/3 lb(maybe more) of the most tender and juicy beef. It was sliced slightly thicker than deli sandwich meat and had a good balanced rub on it, not overbearing with the wood/smoke. Not too spicy, not sweet and not to salty. It doesn't need sauce at all because of the great flavor and the juiciness/tenderness. I now regret not trying any of their sides. It was two bucks more for the combo (drink and side). With the quality of their main fare, I would imagine the sides are very impressive. FINDING THEM So, this is a mobile trailer in a fenced area with picnic tables. It is about two blocks west of I75 on the left behind a large real estate office. It is almost impossible to see from the road and is actually located on the side road that runs along I75. SW 40th Ave, but they list their address as 3960 Silver Springs Blvd (SR 40) (which I believe is the real estate office address). 11-6 Tuesday through Saturday.

This place is great!!!! I eat here atleast once a week, the pulled pork sandwich is huge, the guys there always tease me for not ordering sides but the sandwich is so big I can't eat anymore! The ribs are great too. Stop by and try them out you won't be disappointed!

Too notch brisket! Yes it's a food truck but its putting out multi floor flavor. And of the BBQ doesn't seal the deal for you then sample the sides. Sweet potato casserole will put you in a delightful diabetic coma and the onion rings loops of luscious flavor. Only one or two picnic tables so get there fast or hope that your vehicles air conditioning is working well and the driver allows you to eat and drink in the car. Had the chicken and pulled pork here in the past and both were just as good as the aforementioned entrees. Excellent, smoky, flavorful, and tasty slow cooked southern fare.

Ok, they say the 2nd time is a charm...dinner last night once again did not disappoint! We had the brisket and roasted chicken. Wow! It was wonderful!!! The side salad was so wonderful! None of that iceberg here, they went the extra mile and had seeded diced tomatoes several sliced of cukes and the perfect serving of dressing. On to the green beans...so nice to see smoked ham bits for that perfect flavor. We ordered the corn bread and again I can say yum! The serving of brisket was generous and the roasted chicken was 1/2 of a good size bird. Service was prompt and very courteous without hovering...just the right mix. The owner made a point to visit the tables to meet and greet the customers! I consider this the great finish to a wonderful "home cooked meal". Give it a try!

Decor still resembles the previous Pizza Hut. Beef brisket was very tender and tasty. My wife and I had the collard greens, French fries, and baked beans which were good. The garlic bread was very.tasty. For appetizers, we had their chicken wings were incredible with the crispy texture due to flash frying and incredible smokey flavor, and the onion rings were just what the were...onion rings. My wife had the full rack of baby back ribs which should really have the option of a half rack. The baby back ribs were really dry despite a dry rub and not really tender which I find amazing since they were baby back ribs. Everything was great but you really need to get your baby back ribs right to call yourself a barbecue place.

Fantastic BBQ the best in town. Recommended to everyone! The brisket is to die for. Mouth watering goodness in every bite. The shredded pork is almost as good! Don't miss this opportunity for great BBQ sause!

Champions has now moved to south Pine in the old Pizza Hut. They have closed the food truck and turned it into a real restaurant. Crowds have been big as they work through the new location. There were a few kinks the night we went but food is still excellent.

I have to start off by stating I am not a fan of roadside BBQ stands. My co workers raved about Champions for over a year before I reluctantly gave in and joined them. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. The burger and fries was actually one of the better burgers Ive had in a while. Now I am inviting others to join me at Champions! So hats off to you guys.

Not a truck anymore. Champion has a home on Pine Ave. After eating from the truck, a picnic atmosphere, I have now tried the restaurant. Food is as good as ever. Had the pulled pork plate with two sides and a biscuit. Pork was good. It had a light mix of their main sauce in it when served. I would prefer straight pulled pork and add my own choice of sauce, but theirs was fine. Nice size helping. Had green beans and sweet potato as sides. Both were good. Biscuit was tasty. No leftovers. My friend had the beef brisket. Said it was as good as any he'd had. Tender and flavorful. Big salad. Mac & Cheese side was delicious. Baked, the best kind. Restaurant itself was clean and neat. It was a Pizza Hut in it's prior life and you can identify the layout, but no pizza signs. Lunch crowd on Friday was medium. Tables 1/2 to 3/4 filled with customers coming and going the whole time we were there. Waitress was quick and attentive. Give Alesha a gold star.

It's a food truck, the most amazing food truck. The dry rub ribs where so good they didn't need any sauce. The baked beans where perfect as well as the fried okra. There not open on Mondays and they close at 5:30 and sometimes they run out of stuff so get there before it's gone you won't regret it!

This place rocks! Big potions of meat and really good meat. The pulled pork had just a bit of spice and isn't too sweet. That sandwich is huge! The brisket is smoked beautifully and is tender. I haven't needed any sauce on the meat. I'm not a big spare rib fan- but the flavor was great. For the sides.....if you have room- I'd suggest the baked beans and for a super sweet tooth the sweet potato pie is decent. As for the fries and onion rings and okra.....it's nothing to get excited about. But if you're at a bbq place go for the meat! A friend had one of the best looking burgers from there too. Most impressively was that I put in about 7 different orders today for my co workers and they got all of them right.
