Awesome bar. Totally my kind of of place - the drinks are amazing and they have great selection of beer. Highly recommended for a quick drink or to stay all night, the staff is super friendly and the owners are always there to greet you. Must try the Painkiller!!

I am going to get straight to the point: I wanted to like this place. I was rooting for it-- we were ALL rooting for it. My first experience here was great. It was late night on a weekday, I wanted a simple drink and I showed up here because I heard the new owner had really revamped it. He sure did! Before, this was the seediest joint in Miami Lakes. The former business owners didn't know what they had on their hands, especially for the fact that its located next to Los Perros-- pretty much the spillout for most drunken nights for anyone in the Miami Lakes/Hialeah/Miami Gardens area. I came, the bartender told me they always had shot and beer specials and I got my buzz, paid and left. Great experience! But, last night this place completely dropped 3 stars-- and I think I'm being generous even giving it that. When I showed up, it was slam packed! Good for them, bad for me. The bartenders were awful, though, which made it worse. Two young girls with glasses, fumbling around behind the bar, struggling to make simple drinks. At first, they took SO long to take our orders. About 15 mins into being there, they hadnt even looked at the four of us standing there. Finally, their boss asked if we had ordered, and when we said we had not, he commanded one girl to serve us. The girl did, went over to the other side of the bar and didn't make our drinks. In fact, I went outside, had 2 cigarettes and when I went to check-- she just BEGAN to make our drinks. When I watched her, she did not fill her pour measurer for any of our drinks and forgot to put Jameson in my friends drink, and had we not watched her she would have probably passed house liquor off as top shelf. She also accidentally poured an extra shot of liquor out and we all watched her pour it back in the bottle, now contaminating the bottle of vodka-- which is illegal. Honestly, these two girls were so bad they should be fired immediately. The drink prices are great. Especially for how great their drink menu is-- spectacular. Had my drink been properly poured, I would have felt okay about it, but it was so weak I closed my bill and left immediately. The owner or manager (not sure his position) was way more attentive than our two bartenders. I really hope this place improves in service quality because I definitely will be returning if they up their game there. I will be sticking to their beer & shot specials, for sure. Who can go wrong there?

This is exactly what Miami Lakes needed for a long time! I'm so glad there is finally another alternative to Flanigans or Ale house in the area. If you're looking to drink from an extensive list of craft beers or have a cocktail look no further, this is the spot! This lounge is small, clean, cozy, and overall has a chill, cool, friendly vibe to it. The bartenders, managers, owners are all outstanding, and are extremely attentive, the service here is absolutely five stars! The drinks they make are on point, seriously they put so much care and passion into making their drinks, if you don't believe me just try the old-fashioned! One of the best I've ever had! They also have the boilermaker special daily which runs about $6-8 dollars and consists of a daily selected shot & beer. The drinks are also at great affordable prices. Another cool feature about this spot is they do have a selection of board games to play at the bar as well such as connect four, jenga, pac-man, galaga, and darts. At the bend lounge they also have numerous events held throughout the week such as ladies night Wednesday, Karaoke Thursdays, oh and of course happy hour specials as well, and did I mention they're the best! If you follow their Instagram account you can catch up on all the events they have planned for the month. They also do tap takeovers, I know the last one was with MIA brewing and it was a fun, great time! I'm a regular here at The Bend, and have been coming since after the first month they've opened. I've been extremely satisfied with the service and always have a great time out here. I hope this bar stays to last, and if you haven't been here yet I highly recommend trying it out! I've told all my friends about it and all of them enjoyed the atmosphere, drinks, and service at The Bend too.

Visited after a friend told me the previous bar had been sold and was under new management. Wow! What a difference. The place has a great 1960-70s vibe while still being modern. Drinks were decently priced, bartenders were quick, and the mojito I ordered was good. Packed on a Friday but not impossibly busy. Could use more food but Los Perros is right next door and open late.

Love the ambience! It's a shame they only have one bartender and drinks are watered down.

Good place in Miami lakes to hang out and have a few drinks. It definitely has potential to be awesome. The service is friendly and good on slower days but when the bar gets full, the staff can sometimes easily forget about you. The drinks are made well and the prices are good. Very chill; sometimes a little TOO chill. I would really like to see this place stay open. It gives people in Miami lakes/ Miami Gardens more options!

Great atmosphere and the staff are friendly. They do allow you to bring in food from outisde, which is great. Bar is not up to date, but the atmosphere and music makes up for it. Great crowd

After hearing about this place on Yelp and reading all the great reviews, I was really excited to finally check it out for myself and enjoy some fancy cocktails. My boyfriend and I went on a Friday night around 10pm and were pleased with the ambiance, layout, and decor from the minute we walked in. We're Mad Men junkies lately so we have a soft spot for anything with a 1960s-70s look. We instantly thought: "This is a place Donald Draper would like to drink at." We were immediately greeted by, what would turn out to be, one of the best mixologist we've ever had. He was very personable and made some good recommendations on drinks and snacks. Their cocktail list covers the quintessentials - Mai Tais, Martinis, Mojitos, Old Fashioned, Margaritas. Yet, just from watching the bartenders make the drinks, you could notice how much effort they put into avoiding the use of mixers and short-cuts. I started with a Pain Killer and the bartender recommended a Sazerac for my boyfriend, an Old Fashioned with a twist - the glass is rinsed with absinthe so it leaves a unique aftertaste and flavor. I'm a whisky girl so I was surprised I hadn't heard of it before, but I totally dig it. It was definitely up there with some of the best old fashioned drinks I've had. My Pain Killer was really delicious, too. It took me back to being on a tropical island with a piña colada in my hand, but better. It wasn't overly sweet, but still had its fruity taste and a nice strong kick at the end. While we enjoyed our first cocktails, we ordered some of their seasoned popcorn to munch on. They come pre-packaged, but tasted fresh and delicious. The bacon and cheddar was great, it tasted a lot like real bacon - not artificial tasting. Their salt and vinegar was just as tasty, and we found that mixing both flavors together really complemented the other. For my second round of libations I went with their Moscow Mule. I had never had one before and was happy with how refreshing it was. This place has a nice extensive beer list. I think any real beer lover would be giddy just looking at their lineup. As we enjoyed our second (and last) round at the bar - a Delirium Tremens and they Dark & Stormy cocktail - we took in the good tunes coming from their electronic jukebox. There was a nice mix of 70's Classic Rock, old school hip hop, country, you name it. We also spotted a dart board in the back. The whole vibe of the place is very laid back and comfortable. By the time we were leaving to grab some food next door at Los Perros, every bar stool was about full and there was a good crowd going. I can only imagine that once word spreads about how great the drinks, service, and vibe of this place is, it will start filling up every night. We look forward to returning soon to enjoy some more delicious cocktails. I just wish they had more variety of snacks/food. Although I get food isn't really what they're trying to do, it probably would've kept us there longer if we could've had something more filling to curb our hunger. I also didn't see any of their board games lying around that I had seen other Yelpers post about. Watch out local Miami Lakes bars, this place is about to give you a run for your money!

Just came to this place on a whim. A cozy place, I read about the illegal activities in the Miami New Times. Drinks are priced well. The staff are extremely attentive. I think I will make this my new hangout spot. Screw flannys and ale house. The crowd is wonderful and causal. It is a harbinger of good feels. Will recommend to anyone seeking a secluded yet inviting place to hang with friends or dates. Parking is available, GALAGA is available, and awesome cocktails and Beer are ever flowing with quality and style.

If you live in Miami Lakes, this bar used the be the rowdy lounge next to Los Perros. This little bar has now been transformed into a specialty cocktail and craft beer lounge. Once you park outside, you will see a banner that states exactly the truth- it's not what it used to be. This place is dimly lit, has couches, and and outside area if you are looking for an intimate conversation. They have a pretty great beer selection, and every time I go, the mixologists get better and better. There is no longer a need to go to south beach for those wonderful cocktails we enjoy, as they are now in our backyard! The owner and bartenders are very knowledgeable and kind. I truly hope this bar flourishes!

I really enjoyed it. Went this past Friday with the bestie to get a few drinks and catch up. We made it for Happy Hour. Although it wasn't too full at the time you can tell who the regulars are. My drinks we amazing, I had 3 Painkillers and each was just as good as the first. We tried the popcorn in the Sriracha and Lime flavor and it was delish. The salami and cheese platter was a little small and the crackers were stale but hey we can to drink right?! They had board games and a mix of music. They also have a jukebox for those who aren't enjoying the music and a small outdoor area where you can sit, drink and listen to the music. They allow you to bring in outside food since they don't really sell any. I have planned to go back and check out ladies night.

Great place to drink a Mai Tai. This place is completely renovated. The service is fantastic the best bartenders ever. They are consistent in every drink. The price is between $7-$8 in cocktails how I think are cheap for well made cocktails. They have special like ladies night Wednesday 7-9pm ladies drink champagne free. Thursday karaoke night. So if you want to enjoy a Good chat with you love one or some friends this place gonna be your hangout place. The music is thru a jukebox so always is Good music playing. So let's go drink. Salud!!!

What can I say? Miami lakes really needed this. Craft beer, excellent cocktails and amazing service. Shannon was beyond helpful and knowledgable. I will definitely be coming back to this hidden gem. Did I mention the atmosphere? Highly recommended.

This place rocks unique in a whole new fashion. Who knew Miami Lakes could have a place like this? Best happy hour in town for sure and fair pricing. They continue to expand their menu and you can order food from adjacent restaurants in the Plaza. This is for sure a hidden gem that you must visit. Service is excellent and bar tenders are educated on craft beer and cocktails. I recommend the Vanilla Porter for beer and the Bees Knees for a cocktail. They also have an outdoor area with seating, it's very chill.

Want a different scene outside of your usual watering hole? Then check out The Bend Liquor Lounge in.... Miami Lakes!!! Ok, it's not South Beach or Ft. Lauderdale, but it IS a refreshing getaway from the same ol' faces and places you may be used to. I went on a Saturday night. This place is FUN. It has a 70's vibe to it that is just awesome. The bar is an octagonal shaped beauty in the middle of the place. There are board games! Who doesn't like board games!? You have Jenga, dominoes, UNO, and some very potent adult beverages (at reasonable prices). There's a small dance floor by the DJ booth, so if board games aren't your thing then you can get down to some jams. My bartender, Nick, super down to earth and a good mixologist. The place and the crowd are very chill and all about having a good time, no 'tudes. The place opened about a month and a half ago (Google what was there before if you like interesting stories) and they are planning on having karaoke, theme nights, etc. If you want a fun night out with friends at a totally new and interesting spot, then give this place a visit. It's open during the daytime as well. And, you'll have plenty of free parking since it's located in a shopping plaza. No polyester or platform required, but go ahead if you want to.

The old fashions are made to perfection, they're my favorite along with the Dark and Stormys. Best cocktails in town! The owner spoke to us for a while about his passion for good cocktails and it shows by the menu. Nice staff, and atmosphere. Happy to see a place like this open up in the neighborhood, as there's not many good places for a late night drink that's not chain restaurants like Ale House or Flanigans. For what the drinks are, the price point is great. Heard there will be a liquor store coming soon as well. Miami Lakes has definitely never had anything like this, and we welcome the bend with open arms !

Don't let the exterior strip mall vibe fool you, once you step inside The Bend -- this place is NICE!! Everything about it is AWESOME; from the retro 70's look of the bar to the AMAZING drinks they have. Ok, it's a bar...so let's talk about the drinks: craft cocktails that rival South Beach's best....ranging from Old Fashioned to Mojitos. The bartenders behind the bar has skills. Out of the blue, I asked for a Sazerac (not on the drink menu, and I was expecting them to say no since SoFla doesn't know this drink let alone serve it) but guess what? My man made me 1 of the tightest Sazerac I've had...whaaa!! It's not just the cocktails, they specialize in craft beers as well. From local faves such as M.I.A. Brewery, Gravity Labs, J.Wakefield....to Belgian classics like Chimay & St. Bernardus. If you know those brands then that means you're prob sold & on you're way to this place already. If you don't know those brands, you need to upgrade your beer game. Next, ambiance: seriously the retro 70's feel is awesome....btw, we're not talking about run-downed 70's here -- it's a clean, modernized 70's look. The circular bar kinda reminds me of those great hotel bars from the past. They have a sweet outdoor patio if you wanna just chill. I've been there on a weekend when they have this DJ playing retro classics from The Smiths, The Cure....to Pharcyde & 3rd Bass. Seriously, who plays 3rd Bass nowadays -- I'm a Big Fan of this DJ!! Seriously, just GO...you won't regret it!

This is what I am looking for for a long time. Nice and cool place, I felt relaxing at the first check in. Waitress were so friendly. So many delicious food to order. Nice and a lot of different kind of drink, but I like the best their sunrise margarita on the rock. Tastes so good. I was so enjoyed my time here this Friday night.

This place is amazing! I don't believe it's taken me so long to review this bar. My boyfriend and I make the drive from Kendall just to drink here every now and then. It's completely worth the drive! The drinks are cheap and strong and all the bartenders are sooo friendly and professional. I always recommend this place to friends. Seriously a must visit if you're in the area.

The place is by far one of the most laid back places I have been too. The bartenders are great and it is in a great location. Ask for a pain killer one of there specialties. Boiler makers every day, great pricing yiu won't break the bank here at all. A++++ rating, you must check them out.

Amazing drinks, but we would of stayed longer if they had food. Ordering from a neighboring food place and being able to eat their is a big no no. It's a fact that clients stay longer and buy more drinks when they have something to munch on. I would recommend making a small menu with finger foods.

Stopped in on a Saturday night and wasn't expecting much.... Man was I surprised! Every drink was made to perfection! I was able to go thru there whole menu (with help from friends) and not one drink let me down. Bartender (forgot his name) definitely knew what he was doing and was very nice. I definitely will be returning ALOT

I love it here. Ever since it opened, I've been here at least three times a week (and lately, once a day). Happy hour ($6 drinks and $4 drafts) is from 4-8. If you work in the biz, or in the service industry, you get a discount as well! Ladies night is on Wednesday - Ladies get free champagne from 6-9, they have karaoke on Thursdays starting at 9, and a DJ from 10-2 am on Fridays and Saturdays. They're closed on Mondays for right now, and they're actually open from 3-3 (not 4-3, that hour makes a difference!) so someone should fix that... My favorite bartenders are Nick, Shannon, Nick, and Ned. They make an awesome drink called "The Karolina" and out of everyone that's made it for me, Ned makes it the best..Try it. Management is also really cool - Mo, Ned or Michelle are extremely welcoming and always around if you need something. Awesome place, awesome vibes. It's a lot cleaner than most places in the area, MUCH cleaner actually. I come for the company (they're cute! What can I say?!) and awesome drinks. Plus I can play all the No Doubt I want on the jukebox and nobody complains :) I love this place.

Love this place! If you're looking for somewhere with great drink specials, original concoctions, and an overall laid back feel this is the place. The bartenders are great as well! Love their painkiller drink as well as their wells banana bread beer! Must try those if you're into sweet drinks :)

  • Anette O.

Great selection of craft beer!! Pretty much impossible to find in Miami Lakes so I'm happy to have this option very close to home! The bartenders are super cool. Only downside for me is the death metal playing. I've sat outside in their patio the times I've been and it's so loud that it's annoying. Different music would be great! Would make me stay longer too

  • Rina C.

Finally...a great bar so near home. I can totally see myself coming here every now and then. I thought it was closed but as soon as you open the doors its like entering a different dimension. it wasn't really big but its not small either. It has a nice outside patio for intimate conversation and a jukebox with a lot of variety. I can't complain. I really enjoyed it.

  • Chris G.

It could be a great spot if they played a better selection of music. We're in Miami.. country music doesn't cut it.. that's why I left Charlotte. Second time here in the last three months... better than the Ale house for sure. Music please!!

Jasmel, my bartender on her second day made one of the best old fashions I've ever had. If I was a Florida resident this would definitely be my bar. This atmosphere is very laid back and the perfect place for a drink or two or three after a long work day. I love a place that has good drinks and a good atmosphere!

  • Olga A.

Was here a few weeks ago. Didn't even know this place existed here and I live about ten minutes away! This is a fun bar with a retro 70s feel. I loved it! The bartender looked young but he was super attentive and very knowledgeable about the drinks. I don't think they serve food here but there's a place next door that gets slammed with customers so if you're hungry you can grab something from next door. This will be a great addition to my usual local hangouts. Flanigans and Ale House can kiss my booty. No more waiting around for a seat at the bar!

    (5)
  • Ladyane L.

Aweome place! Some of the best drinks I have ever had! Ned is an amazing bartender..had both a Moscow Mule and a bee's Knees...both were amazing. And get this...both were under $8 each! Yes, handcrafted cocktails at a decent price! For those of us living in the eastern parts of town, this is a drive however so worth it for the great drinks and atmosphere. No attitude here...just a cool 70s vibe, a Ms Pacman Machine in the corner and some good stiff drinks. They also have craft beers and local breweries are well represented. A dive bar with class! Very high on the fun and festive meter.

Great local "Upscale" dive bar to unwind on a Friday night after work. Nice environment with a 70's vibe. Will definitely be returning.
