I love the quality of food for the price. Everytime i eat here, I leave fully satisfied. There should be a Pei Wei instead of Mcdonalds in all the corners of this town.

I like Chinese rice almost everywhere I go but this is not my favorite spot for Chinese rice. The customer service is ok.

Over priced takeout disguised as "fancy" Chinese food. The tables seemed clean, but were sticky. 2 stars only because the crab wontons were good.

Pei Wei...you're my answer to a cheap, but filling, Asian meal. I'm really sad that this place is so far from us now because the food is delish!! Well, that may not be a bad thing... Their crab wontons, a regular on our list (my bf and I), is simply some of the best out there. Always crisp and light, they serve quite a bit and fill you up in the process. The Mandarin Kung Pao and the Thai Dynamite dishes are heaven. All of this for a very affordable price. We have never spent more than $30 at this place. I mean, where else can you go and get so much variety for such a small price? Sometimes this place gets packed and it takes a while to get your order. Other than that, the service has always been great. Pei Wei fills my needs for Asian cuisine on a budget!

Great food if you're craving something like PF CHANG's. Especially since it's run/owned by PF's. Good prices and and anyone should be able to find something they like if you enjoy PF CHANG's. The staff was nice and it's great to just order and pick a table to sit at. Fast food without the crap food....

my 1/2 priced PF changs pleasure. hubby eats mongolian beef and lo mein and I get sesame chicken with lo mein and always pour some extra mongolian sauce. place gets packed but there's always space. take out is great.

Went there for lunch. I have to say that overall I like this place, however, took a couple of stars off because the service was extremely slow, and the waiters seemed to disappear. Having said that let's get to the good stuff. I had the Japanese Udon Noodles with vegetables and Tofu with a the vegetable fried rice. I have to say that it was worth the wait, The noodles were perfectly done as were the vegetables, the tofu is the best tofu around and that includes the one from the big cousin P.F. Changs. The fried rice was moist and tasty. My son had the Mongolian chicken and he said that it is still the best around. So if you don't mind waiting in line and then waiting at your table for the food this is the place to come for some good Asian food. Another tip I can offer is to either order to take out or avoid the lunch rush.

This Pei Wei is located in the new shopping center located on the home of the late Don Carter Bowling Alley. So sad they destroyed it. Pei Wei is the fast food version of PF Chang's modified. The set up works great for those that don't like to wait 1 hour to eat. The place is a classy fast food. You order get a little number on the stick and they bring you your food. Their menu is not that big but they have enough to satisfy different taste. I personally like the Mongolian Beef, the crab wontons are so crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside, Yummy! The service is not bad, you can ask them to mix the sauces for you like PF Chang's and they don't have a problem helping you. Also FREE refills on soda if you are into FREE refills. Take out is a little slow I suggest you call in ahead and just walk in and walk out. They are very attentive to make sure you have everything you need in your take out bag so that you can eat on the go. Parking can be a little challenging but not that bad. There are plenty of eateries around this Pei Wei so the shopping center get packed.

Where's DON CATERS!!! Miami has changed. Very delicious place. They are owned by PF Changs. When you drive by it looks very fancy. But once inside, it like a cafeteria. You make a line order and they bring the food to you. If you like PF, you'll like this place. I was here when they first opened and they have improved. At first the portions were very small, which made the place pricey. But know the portions are a good side. The place is very clean. They have self service fountain drink and teas. Also free parking, which can sometime be a little full.

Pei Wei shines best during the non peak dining hours. Seriously... this place gets packed for dinner and the service and lines get ridiculous. I for one hate waiting in long lines for anything, especially what is supposed to be "fast food" I too had a negative takeout experience. I loved that I could order on line, but was pissed when I showed up and the wait time was an extra hour on top of the 30 minutes I was originally told. "Are you kidding me?!" I told them to cancel the order and walked out. I'll go out on a limb and say that the food is good, not spectacularly the best I've ever had, but a step above your typical fast food quality, good. The portions are generous, the price is on target and the flavor is good. The menu is limited but still manages to have a little bit of everything for everyone, even for the kids. Noodles, rice, chicken, beef, shrimp, & tofu in about a dozen and a half diffrent combinations. I will say however, that thier spring rolls are truly great! If you don't like spicey tell them ahead of time. Unlike other places that will make it spicey upon request, they make it spicey unless told otherwise. Will I go back? Perhaps I will, but I can't say it's really something I "crave" more of.

Love Pei Wei, really great food, I highly recommend the crab wontons and love there mongolian beef. Great staff and always clean. Can get busy at some times especially on the weekends

great cheap place to eat. The noodles are the best i've ever eaten, they had pork before, but they took it out. the later you get there, the harder it is to get a seat.

this place impressed me. I went there expecting much high prices. i was wrong. My wife ordered a bowl and i ordered a regular meal. there was alot of food left over and it was good even the next day. Awesome place. Meals and Bowls range from about 5 to 7 dollars and all you can drink soda. Great place if you have little ones.

I've been here a couple of times and I think it's a great spot for a good quick bite. The prices are not bad , the service is pretty quick and the food is good every time. The crab wontons and the vegetable springrolls are the best.

I work nearby so I decided to stop by and get something to take out after my coworker visited one of their restaurants in Orlando and enjoyed it. It's cheap, but I think it could have even been cheaper considering how crappy it tasted. I felt like I had just been served an Asian tv dinner. I guess I was expecting too much, but even my coworker said that the same plate that she ordered tasted completely different in Orlando. As always, I loved the fortune cookie.

Food was good, and came out relatively quickly. They did bring all of our food including appetizers out at once which was a little overwhelming. The staff seems a little disorganized, and come across as if they are rushing you to leave. Good food, but next time I'll take it to go..

  • Jorge G.

For the price its great food. The less expensive version of PF Changs. The dishes are similar, but made a bit different. Taste is neither lost nor gained since they are a bit different. Either way, its good food, and its the new type of "Hybrid" restaurant -- You pay first and get your drink, and you are given a number at which point a food runner comes to your table to bring you your meal. Just a faster version of a sit down waiter service restaurant, with more quick-service pricing.

  • Mike A.

Great place to go. Crab wantons are a must. They have really good spicey dishes like the Pei Wei spicy and if that's not your thing they have honey seared chicken and sweet and sour. Other goodies are the lettuce wraps, pad Thai and always a plus, beer! Kirin ichiban is the best.

I definitely wont be coming back here again. Maybe it was the fact that I was sick and could not distinguish any real flavor, or their food just really sucked. Either way, my experience here was not good. The interior is pretty cool, and thats about it. I ordered the Wonton soup, bowl rather than cup, and was super disappointed. First of all, it came in a medium sized red plastic bowl, like something you would use at home to store left overs in. What the hell?! The soup was bland and had huge pieces of spinach in it. I mean HUGE. I dont like big pieces of leaf in my soup. Guess I'm just picky. My even pickier boyfriend ordered the Mongolian chicken with fried rice. He was upset they didnt serve beef, but said the chicken was cooked good. Once again, the flavor was a little off. I had a bite and didnt care for it. Over all, the price is pretty decent, which is why I gave them two stars. But, you literally pay for what you get. The service is on point though, and the cashier at the front was super nice. However, I'd have to say that the best part of Pei Wei is their free fortune cookies.

I went here for lunch last week and i was skeptical at first because my friend (minal) had tried it twice already and was not satisfied. We usually share similar tastes when it comes to asian food but i decided to judge this place for myself. Granted i've only had 1 dish here but the Dan Dan noodles were great. Good flavor, good portion, and decent price. I've also never had real Dan Dan noodles so i can't attest to its authenticity but for what it's worth, i'd go back.

I picked up my 9yr old and asked him what he wanted to eat today. He was looking forward to some ribs; but as we left the nearest Staples we spotted this place and actually entered the Chipotle right next to it. He didn't want Chinese he said; but when we stepped into the place it caught our attention. There was a delicious aroma in the air, never that greasy oily feeling in the air. My son was excited to sit on the stools right by the cooking area. We ordered at the dine in counter and sat down with a number. A very friendly wait staff came to us with our food and made sure to ask if everything was to our liking. We had free refills at the fountain station and ate a little bit of everything. Not really; but the egg rolls where delicious. The Pei Wei chicken was nice with the brown rice. My son ate some Lo Mein with Teriyaki chicken. He loved it. Definitely coming back to Pei Wei as an alternative to the traditional Chinese take out.

the food was ok. a definite step up from food court chinese but that's about it. and then when you look at the nutrition info which seems healthy but then you see that every meal is 2 servings of protein and 2 servings of rice (i confirmed with corporate, since the spreadsheet is kind of confusing), so what you thought was a nice little meal is well over 1000 calories, holy crap, do they inject it with oil? i'm never eating there again.

I am giving Pei Wei a five star rating in relationship to fast food. This is the third time I have been to this chain, twice at the North Kendall location and once in the Orlando area. Every experience as been Excellent. The establishment is always clean and organized. The register staff is friendly and willing to answer all questions. They are eager to please and are very knowledgeable. I was was waiting while another guest was having their order taken and a large party came up behind me, immediately a staff recognized the increase in patronage and immediately opened another register to help me. My wife and I started off with sharing a four count ( which is a great option, or you can have the full 8 pieces) mango California roll. It is krab ( I don't know why they spell crab with a K), mango, cucumbers, scallions, rice, sesame seeds with the usual sides served. It was refreshing and satisfying, although I would have liked more of a mango after taste. I chose a Caramel Chicken dish for my main entree. I was worried it would be too sweet, but was intrigued with the Carmel name. It turned out to be a lightly spicy dish with a wonderful Asian slaw that also included shredded cucumber with the carrots and cabbage. That slaw sat on top of my chicken that was mixed with a caramel chile sauce, pineapple, ginger garlic lemongrass , mint and my favorite rice sticks. I chose brown rice. This dish had everything I wanted and I would order it again. My wife order a Mongolian Chicken and stayed with the recommended white rice. It had a wonderful sweet soy sauce, chunky cut scallions, garlic and white mushrooms. My wife enjoyed it and I thought it was good. We decided on water, but when we got to the beverage station we saw that they had a mandarin green tea and a chai black tea. I was also excited to see the new type coca cola beverage dispenser that has 20 choices. So we decided to change our original waters that were not charged to a delicious tea. I went back up to the register and told them of our change of mind. They said no problem and to help my self. I asked how much and the nice lady said don't worry help yourself. I don't know if she had seen that our food was already out or that she wanted to be nice. To me it spoke volumes of customer service. I will definitely buy my iced black chai tea from now on. i do have a warning about the way the menu is set up. It seems simple with guided numbers on the steps. Step 1 you pick a protein (chicken, beef, shrimp or tofu). Then step 2 you decide white or brown rice and what sauce and vegetables. Here is where every one gets a little confused. Im not sure why, but the name of the sauce is there and the description of what comes with that sauce is under the title. So basically you pick the the sauce you like and its vegetables. There is also a section for noodle bowls. Finally is step 3 where you can customize it. Whether steaming or adding more of something. Thee is a large sign or individual take out menus or even a board at the register. Regardless DO FREAK OUT, some one is there to guide you through the process with a smile. I went to the bathroom to was my hands before I ate and the bathrooms were clean and neat, which is always a comforting indication on the cleanliness of a restaurant. If only there was a Pei Wei closer to me I would have it made!

I'm giving them two stars because they discontinued the coconut curry sauce. It was my favorite. Avoid this place during lunch time and up until 3pm, at all costs ! They're super busy and it's mostly with take out orders. So if your sitting in the restaurant you're going to be waiting more than 45 minutes for your food. It's supposed to be FAST food, good fast food. Nope, it's slow as hell. I still love heir ginger tea and countless fortune cookies. Hope they step it up by hiring more employees/cooks.

Holy sodium! My way of eating has changed considerably since my original review in 2008. Everything served here is so incredibly salty that it's just not doable anymore. So gross. It's basically the McDonald's of Asian food. Yuck!

Always a great experience. I eat here about once a week. The manager, Nely, is wonderful. Always says hello, remembers my order to the T, and is kind to my 3 year old. Recommendations: Spring rolls, konpow chicken or shrimp with brown rice (spicy). I have also ordered the salad--- yummy. The sushi---ehhhhhh, not the best, but ok for an appetizer should you reaaaaallly want sushi. The service is always great, and I know that in part it is due to the management team doing a great job. Additional note: the Pad Thai has its days. Some days it is delicious , Other days I have had to return it for it being too hard or too spicy. Just know that you can speak up and be taken care of. I will continue to eat here.

It's pronounced Pay-Way, not Pee-Wee! Offering fast and convenient Asian themed food, Pei Wei delivers with great portions and flavors. PF Chang's little brother caters to the lunch and dinner crowd on a budget. A good bowl will run you about $12.00 with a drink. Good for a casual meet up with friends, or a quick lunch in between errands. The menu is simple and ordering is pretty quick. The food is prepared as you order, and delivered to your table nice and hot. Can't stay, you can order ahead, and pick it up. Sorry, no deliveries! Ordering is done by the numbers and by the styles. If you're not familiar with the cuisine, the staff will help you with that too. Ask as many questions as you like, they love it! All the cooking is done in an open kitchen where you can watch the cooks handle those woks over the intense open flames of the gas burners below. If you ask nicely, they'll pose for photos too! My recommendations - The Vietnamese Spring Rolls with the Sweet Chili and Peanut Sauces were excellent, so were the Szechuan Green Beans. The Thai Spicy Chicken with Noodles....not very impressed flavor wise and the noodles were extra rubbery and soggy. The manager offered to refund my money and I accepted. I'll be returning to try a few other things on the menu, and offer additional insight. As far as service is concerned, they get extra points! If you eat at the restaurant, remember that the servers work for tips as well. So leave them a few bucks before you leave as a thank you.

Yesterday was my first time at this Asian little fast food/restaurant place. Overall it wasn't a horrible experience but there were certain things I didn't like. I wasn't thrilled of the fact the menu wasn't in a physical format and it takes me forever to decide what to order so when I got to the ordering destination I had no idea what I wanted so I just went ahead and ordered something I was familiar with which was teriyaki chicken with rice. The food was edible but it was overwhelmingly drenched in teriyaki sauce so I wasn't able to eat it all. The setting was cute since I went with my boyfriend that was a plus (he loves this place) I think in general it's whatever... And I was disappointed that they didn't have vanilla coke available in their coke machine even though they offer it. It's not horrible but if there's anything they can change it would be the trenching of the sauce.

We love to come here. However, today we placed an order on-line at 4:55pm to be picked up at 5:40pm. We get here at 5:40pm and my order has not even been started on. Extremely disappointed with the service today.

I love Pei Wei but this location is terrible. We found hair in two of our three plates. There restaurant is way to small for the waves of people. Service was ok.

Bad service. Terrible. The last 3x's have been awful. Was once good, but new management has turned this place bad.

  • Daniel C.

Very disappointed with this specific location. I ordered the Mango California Rolls, tasted of "cold". Like they were pre-made, and left in the refrigerator. Also ordered the veggie tofu teriyaki with brown rice. The flavor was plain, the veggies tasted like they were unfroozen, and pre-heated. Sorry, but everything I loved about this restaurant has now turned into a franchise restaurant. Not a complement. Last time you'll ever catch me eating here again.

  • Alejandra A.

Love love love most of the things on this menu! It is simple and easy to order from. Nothing sucks more than looking at a long, full of fru fru crap menu. This location never disappoints other than on a weekend it can get way too crowded so you are better off ordering pick up (and even that is a mission). Service is quick and friendly. It is always clean. Some of my faves include: the Korean beef or chicken lettuce wraps, fried rice, Mongolian, the ginger or honey seared chicken, lo mein.. you get the point. This place is always an option for a quick dinner and hopefully it won't disappoint you.

COOKIES! I'm here several times a week just for these damn cookies. (Just $1!) Who could resist? They're perfectly soft and chewy....definitely sweet. I usually grab a coffee at Starbucks or Panera in the same plaza and a cookie -or two- from Pei Wei on my way to work. On occasion I've dined here for something other than cookies...though a cookie dinner sounds delish right about now! I've had: -Mongolian Beef: yum...but too many green onions -Pad Thai: my favorite! use the lime. it's weird but it works! -Crab Wonton: delicious. made with real crab...or at least something other than just cream cheese. still a bonus. Freestyle Coke machine is alwaysss a bonus in my book. Tons of DIET CAFFEINE-FREE choices this way. See you mañana!

This is the next best thing to PF Chang. The pad thai noodles are delicious. The line goes by pretty fast and the servings are huge. I have always able to eat some and take some home for later or lunch the next day.

  • Don M.

Meh. I mean, I like PF Chang's so I suppose I like Pei Wei. It's fast-ish food so my expectations are not that high. Still, it's a disappointment every time we come here. The staff is never very friendly and usually distracted talking to each other. The food is okay but a long way from extraordinary. The restaurant itself is usually sort-of clean but also often unkept. Like I said...meh. A better, more invested staff could turn this place around but I'm not holding my breath.

Been here a few times and overall good experiences. Yummy food. It's normally pretty busy though. It helps to call ahead and order when on the way so that your food is ready by the time you arrive. Unlimited fortune cookies are a plus. And their chocolate chip cookies are a hit. I really like their crab wontons and chicken lettuce wraps. They have pretty tasty salads and nice variety of sauces for their fried rice.

Just opened three days ago. Address not listed yet. You must visit PEI WEI at 12175 S. Dixie Highway. Dixie Belle Shoppes. I went with some friends today and the food was amazing. We were greeted at the door. The cashier was very attentive and took our order. We felt like we were the only customers in the restaurant. The food was served right away, the waiters and the serve was excellent. I highly recommend it.

I don't put 0 star because it is impossible, WORST PLACE EVER. This was my first time eating here and believe me I won't go back. I ordered fried rice and chicken and it was half cooked, the flavor was the worst also. The worst part was that my boyfriend's rice was COMPLETELY uncooked and when we asked for another it came the same. We asked for a switch of brown rice and it literally took 20minutes until we complained. At the end we got a refund of 2 $10 dollar gift card but who cares? I NEVER WANT TO GO TO THIS PLACE AGAIN. Customer service=horrible, food= HORRIBLE HORRIBLE.

  • Anarella B.

Tried their new crunch rolls and they are delicious! Simple little rolls but they hit the spot. And of course you can't go wrong with the crab wontons...they are so addicting. I always have to get them when I go. The only thing is the Mongolian beef is a hit or miss with these people sometimes it's amazing other times like today a little too salty and way too much mushrooms.

Slightly upscale version of Chinese fast food. Good for a quick bite and casual dining. The Mongolian Chicken and Lettuce Wraps are always pretty good. You can also opt for brown rice for a healthier bite. Cheaper than their upscale PF Chang chain but about the same in terms of taste.

Pei Wei is a glorified Panda Express. No more, no less. It's all Americanized Asian cuisine cooked with a ton of sugar and salt. No MSG, but I still felt bloated after my meal. It was fine for a lazy Sunday take-out.

    (2)
  • Julie M.

The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because the food never disappoints me. The service can be slow, and the managers need to stop yelling at the employees in front of customers. My husband and I sat at the bar and it made for a very uncomfortable experience. We witnessed employee to employee eye rolling, muttering under their breath, and management belittling employees. I get that sometimes things get tough in the kitchen, but seriously?! RELAX. The lettuce wraps are great, honey seared chicken is always delish and the rice is always plump and perfectly cooked. Rangoons are also a fave of mine. Definitely a great place to kill my cravings for PF Changs.

  • Erica S.

I cannot get over how much this location has gone down hill. I got the small portion of the teriyaki chicken, worst 7$ I've ever spent. It came with 3 measly pieces of chicken on top of brown rice that tasted like cardboard, I couldn't even eat it. When I talked to the guy who brought my food out he basically said, "well that's how it comes" and walked away. Do yourself a favor and eat at the chipotle next door.

My friend and I got sick from eating the spicy tuna rolls! I should have known better than to eat tuna at a fast food restaurant but it was only at this location that I got food poisoning because I never had the problem in the Aventura location. Never again.

Fast, quick service EVERY time I've come here. Great little quick stop if you're looking for quality and quick. When I found out they are related to PFChangs, I knew it was worth the try, and I was right. The staff seemed very knowledgable and focused on their work, although I did notice a lack of manager floor presence during a busy lunch hour. Little help maybe?

I loved this place! I like the concept of the "fast food" feel by ordering your food in line and then being able to have the "restaurant" quality food and service by then going to choose your own table and having the friendly staff bring out what you ordered! My over all experience was very enjoyable. I ordered crab wontons as an appetizer which was very good and then as an entree I ordered the chicken teriyaki... All I have to say is Yummmmm!

I have been coming to PW for years. Matter of fact, I lived near their Headquarters in Phoenix. A take out version of their parent company PFChangs, it is a very simple concept. walk in, look at the plasma, pick your meat and then the style and flavor. This does not get any easier... My favorites, Korean Beef extra spicy, Mongolian beef Extra spicy, Shrimp and lobste sauce, and on he apps the spring rools are pretty freggin good. They have the 1001 soda machine flavors and all you can eat fortune cookies. All for about 25 bucks for two. Beer and wine available too...

I came here with a friend, and I must say that the food definitely got better from last time I visited. I got the honey chicken, and it didn't come with that slaw they used as a filler item. It came with brown rice (could have been moister) and sweet chicken covered in a honey glaze. I think they should stock on more cookies because they were gone, but I enjoyed the fresh, honey succulent, comfort food.

This place is a great alternative to PF Changs. It's relatively quick and yummy food. I always get the steak Pad Thai. However, there is always a line at night on the weekends and during lunch and this can drag pretty long so I suggested ordering ahead.

It's kind funny when some people say "oh I haven't had chinese food in a while. I want to go to Pei Wei or P.F. Chang's." Pei Wei is a smaller version of P.F. Chang's and it is asian fusion. Altered to fit the American taste buds. Everytime I go here I'm always unsatisfied. Last time I went here I ordered the Mongolian beef with brown rice. Le bf ordered I believe it was sweet and sour. In my experience they always give a lot of rice compared the the amount of protein they give you. I find it unfair when you are paying $8 for a dish. I could go to chipotle for the same price and eat much better. The mongolian beef was good. It was sweet not spicy and good flavoring. The sweet and sour chicken was too sour for what I was expecting. I would only go here for a quick bite and if I am in a hurry.

I used to eat here all the time when it first opened up but I came tonight to grab a quick dinner and the rice was old and stale they messed up the order and we were waiting for the crab wontons till after we ate dinner. Definitely not coming to this kendall pei wei anymore stay away!!!!

PEI WAIT. After waiting 25 minutes for one dish, yes one, it tasted worse than run of the mill Chinese food from the local canton. It was the Thai dynamite with chicken. Guess I shouldn't expect much here...

I have been to this Pei Wei twice & after both visits I just wished I had gone to PF Changs instead. For the portion/price ratio along with menu options & atmosphere I much prefer PF Changs over Pei Wei. I added a bunch of photos so check them out.

Great food at good price! The manager works and helps everyone and has a great attitude. If you don't want to drive a a P.F. Chang's just pass by here.

This place is too good! From the seating to the food, nice dining area and the fast served food. I would recommend the Mongolian beef. The serving sizes are always big so come hungry if you want to eat here or could always share. Def a local at this place

PF Changs is 10x better, this place sucked balls! Crab wontons were the only edible portion of my food. Wanton Chicken, Steak, and Fried Rice ALL SUCKED!

Where to start? Took a l9ng time to serve the food. Im ok fine. Then one of the waiter spills water on my and my gf. Ok no problem, everyone makes mistakes. Another 15 min pass before we get our food. My gf exclusively asked for lomaine or how ever you spell that poverty food, she gets noodles instead. We flag down a waitress and she takes another 15 min to get the manager. I am done eating my food she is not manager gives us the usual bs of how this is noodles and not lomaine, manager acts insoucianton top of everything., she does not make amends to our needs, and keeps saying the same thing over and over again. My gf starts crying and once again this experience has illiterate why I will not go back here ever again or eat asian food for a long time. ps. They did not have knives and took forever to clean tables. And as you can tell, they do not make amends to disgruntled customers.

The Thai Dynamite Shrimp is my favorite dish here and I like that you can add fried rice to your dish for a nominal add-on charge. Sriracha sauce, red bell peppers, and carrots really make this dish delicious. I also like the Sesame Beef. Sometimes the line to order is pretty long, but the food is worth the wait. Also, you get free refills on your soda and fortune cookies!

This is my go to spot when I'm in the mood for PF Changs but don't want to endure their insanely long wait times. The prices are reasonable and the food is good. I normally have the Mongolian Beef or the Honey Seared Chicken. Don't forget to try their chocolate chip cookies. They are surprisingly good and for $1.00 you can't beat the price.

Nightmare service at the takeout counter tonight. (1) they gave my order to someone else despite ordering online and I was there waiting before this person even came into the restaurant (2) when I finally got my order was chased down in the parking lot by staff telling me they mistakenly gave me the wrong order (3) after being assured my order was right, in fact I was being given "an extra order".- I get home only to realize my order was missing two other items my daughters ordered. Ughhhhhhh. I maybe able to understand if the restaurant was busy, but it was not AND I ordered one hour ahead of my arrival.

This place is great! Every single dish that I have tried has been super delicious. I recommend the Mongolian beef, its my favorite, and the lettuce wraps are full of flavor with fewer calories. Customer service is outstanding! However, on weekends there is a minimum 30 minutes waiting time for take out. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants and would recommend it.

I LOVE Pei Wei. I highly recommend the crab wontons and the mongolian chicken. Both taste amazing. It's never really packed, I think they just fill up quickly around lunch time. There are no "servers" here. You just order your food first, choose a table and they will bring your food to your table within 5-7 minutes. The "servers" just take away unwanted plates. There is a soda fountain machine so you can refill your drink as many times as you want, and a huge basket of fortune cookies at your leisure. Love love love love love.

The food here isn't particularly spectacular but it's cheap, comes in big portions, and they offer way more vegan options than any other place I found in Kendall. I especially like that the cashier always asks if you're vegetarian, which then informs the cooks so they know to not add any meat sauce/condiment/other. I went with the Japanese Chili Ramen, which sounded very exotic and delicious, but it tasted like generic Asian food. It had rice noodles, tofu, veggies, and an unidentifiable chili sauce. I didn't find it particularly flavorful or spicy but it was better once I added Siracha and soy sauce. I will say that I was pretty impressed with the tofu. I was expecting your usual tofu, either soft or firm, sauteed or fried, but this stuff was thinly sliced and tasted like it was smoked and baked. Yum. My friend ordered the orange tofu with rice and that was pretty good, but again, not heavily seasoned and not a particularly strong orange flavor. We split the vegetable spring rolls, which were good, but were really small to be $2 each. Considering how cheap the food was and how vegan-friendly it is, I would definitely go here again.

While waiting for take out order, I observed one of the girls working in the front wearing gloves to clean inside a cabinet with a dirty towel and water. She used the same gloves while handling the take out orders. Not once did she change or remove gloves prior to handling food.

So good! You can ask for just about anything with tofu. Love the chopped salad with tofu and the teriyaki tofu bowl. And always start with the spring rolls. The sauce is so good.

This is a wonderful restaurant, you get a massive portion of food at a good price. The menu is a bit confusing but the people at the front explain it perfectly. Coming here many more times.

hunger takes me several places. today it took me back to pei wei, yay! i had the crab wontons, which never disappoint. the mongolian beef, as usual, was awesome. the beef pad thai was ehhhh. it can take a few minutes to order, but the service once you sit is rather quick.

I had been here previously with my parents and I can say the experience was decent because I thought it was a-okay to come back with my boyfriend. This time around I ordered the Sweet and Sour Chicken while he ordered a Chicken Pad Thai. Though the menu was eh, interactive we placed our order and within minutes it appeared in front of us. Me like speed. One problem: food was hot. VERY hot. My poor boyfriend had a runny noise and red ears after attempting and somewhat successfully eating his dish. The Pad Thai was delish and definitely spicier than our usual Thai place. My Sweet and Sour Chicken was quite satisfying though the taste of the ginger in the pineapple and veggies was too strong for my liking. The Fried Rice was very good and I liked the fact they showed the chunks of broccoli and not those mystery food items that you sometimes wonder what they are.

Mongolian beef with brown rice never disappoints me. Crab (cream cheese) wontons are super yummy with a sweet chile sauce. Spring rolls are also very good. Service is fast and food is great!

I like that this restaurant is like PF Chang's little brother. It has some of the same dishes at much more affordable prices. I also like that you pretty much get to build your own meal - pick a meat or tofu, pick a rice, and pick a sauce. Or you can try the rice/noodle bowls too. I recommend paying the extra fee for fried rice with you meal - instead of brown or white. It's an option not mentioned unless you ask for it. When this place first opened, I went every week and tried ALL the difference dishes, so I really know what they are all like, isn't that sad? My favorites: the Orange (I like that it comes with carrots and snow peas), the Mongolian (is that politically correct, anyways?), the rest are ok. I really recommend ALL the appetizers. That's pretty much my favorite part of the meal. The Crab Rangoons are excellent with real crab pieces and a great sweet & spicy plum sauce, the minced chicken lettuce wraps are delicious but messy, and the Vietnamese Chicken Salad Rolls are my favorite too (they are like salad egg rolls with peanut sauce but in a clear noodle wrap). Things I didn't like: the Pad Thai, Lo Mein, and Teriyaki Bowl. I'd pick one of the Entrees instead plus an appetizer. I can't tell you how many people I've told about this place and bragged about it being such a great find!

We used to go here all the time - Once per week. The food was good, better than normal chinese take out. However, recently, it's gone downhill. During my last visit a week ago, we had to wait 10 min for a table to be cleaned (the busboy wouldn't even acknowledge us) while the waitress stood there with our starters. As soon as we sat and started eating, our main dishes arrived. They were cold and obviously NOT made to order. The chicken had already been cooked and some sauce poured over it. And there were 3 pieces of broccoli in my ginger broccoli chicken. We were supposed to speak with the manager, but instead the waiter brought us over a compensation - some lettuce wraps at the end of our meal. Are you serious? Our meal that night was $43 - I'd rather go to Ruson right up the street for that amount of money.

I love the Mongolian chicken at this place. Every time I go, I am determined to order something new, but I always end up ordering that or the vietnamese chicken salad rolls. Pei Wei beats any Chinese take out place in my eyes... The prices are reasonable and the portions are more than enough for me. I'd give this place 5 stars, but the Lo Mein here isn't nearly as good as the one at PF Changs- and that makes me a little bit sad.

  • Jorge R.

I write this review with a heavy heart. I love the food here. "Then why did you give them a 1, Jorge?" Great question. I'll start by saying this, I'm in the restaurant industry. I know what restaurant partners go through especially with staff. When errors are made, management should go above and beyond to make this right. So when a server drops a tray full of food next to me getting soy sauce all over my clothing, I would expect at least an immediate apology. Staff didn't even bat an eye. It wasn't towards the end of my meal, a manager happened to notice my frustration and asked to cover my dry cleaning bill (which is 1.50). I would have had to get it done and bring a receipt. How is that service? I wouldn't even dare to offer that. It's sad that service isn't taught anymore. I'm not the one to ask for a comped meal, but a simple immediate apology would have gone a long way. I haven't returned since.

This place is at the verge of being just......eh. I have always loved Pei Wei however, this last visit was a little disappointing from the disorganized customer service to the minuscule pieces of tofu in my dish. I really like the concept of a "cheaper version of PF Changs" however they should not skimp on the quality of the service and the food. GET IT TOGETHER PEI WEI!

I will let you in on the most important feature of this restaurant: Basket with fortune cookies at your seizure. I'm talking hundreds of cookies sitting right next to take out boxes, yelling, " take me you big fatty." And I did, I did eat 5 cookies at the table, and I stuffed 10 into the take out box. Fortuned the F* out! Thank you Pei Wei.

Love this place! Get the Honey Seared, you'll thank me later. Great place, nice ambiance, and if something is wrong, just change your plate, no questions asked. PF Changs on the cheap God bless.

I love peiwei! Their noodle bowls are so good and its a good alternative to having to sit and be waited on at a normal full service restaurant when you are on a time constraint. Its pretty great quality for the price imho. Order the Japanese Chile Ramen with Tofu and Vegetables! After being a vegetarian for 3 years I know how hard it is to find really good tofu dishes in Miami. Pei Wei is one of two places that I know do it REALLY well. I don't know what they do it, but its godly! I have even googled for the recipe, but no such luck. I suppose that means I have to visit Pei Wei more often for my fix ;)

I've been holding off on reviewing this place for a while. Nothing personal..I just try to stick to one of a kind locations than review a chain. That said, Pei Wei is a chain restaurant. Nothing spectacular or unique about this one that you wouldn't experience differently from the other 7-8 Pei Wei's spread out in South Florida. There is, though, something about this particular Pei Wei that everyone in Kendall just flocks over for. What that means is that come dinner time, there is a long line at the door. That's not because the employees at the registers are slow asses..no, its that the restaurant is *too* small. Way too small in my opinion. In fact, this Pei Wei should be more the size of the 2-times-larger Panera bread next door. If you don't want to stand in line and wait for some group before you to leave their table, order take out. On busy days take out can also take a while..somewhere around 30-45 minutes.

I was starving and this was the first restaurant to be on my path. Place is nice, fast service and decent for the price. Of course I went for the Mongolian Shrimp with a side of Pad Thai. Can't go wrong with that meal! Better than fast food for sure and not as pricey as PF Chang.

If I'm in the area and want a cheap lunch or dinner, this is where I'm headed. I prefer this place over it's sister restaurant, PF Chang's. The food is similar between both places, but here it is way cheaper. My dish is usually the chicken Lo Mein, which includes noodles, golden brown chicken, mushrooms, onions, carrots, and scallions. Their spring rolls are really good (when they don't serve them drenched in grease), and the crab rangoon are a must try. Another dish which is quite good is the Mongoloian beef. One thing I can't get on board with at this place is the rice. It is poorly made, and it doesn't stick together like the rice at Asian places is supposed to. Then again, this isn't really an authentic Asian restaurant. Still, they do serve up some quality stuff, and the portions are more than enough, as you will find yourself sometimes taking the food home. I've had other items, like the lemon chicken and the honey garlic chicken, and they're pretty good. The chopsticks at this place are awesome, though. They never break at the top like the ones at cheap sushi bars, and there are infinite supplies of tasty fortune cookies. I highly enjoy and recommend Pei Wei if you want a good lunch/dinner, and only want to spend around $20 for two people.

PAD THAI. =D I love their Tofu Pad Thai. Yes, it's obvious, I probably don't know good Pad Thai if it slapped me in the face, but I actually prefer their Pad Thai to most places. It's pretty spicy. It just needs a few dashes of soy sauce to get it going. I find the quality of their food increases/decreases depending on the time of day. When this place is full, there's always something wrong with my food. The noodles are overcooked, or it's missing the peanuts. SOMETHING IS ALWAYS WRONG. Obviously, it's disguised fast food. But I enjoy it. Dare I say, I'd probably take Pei Wei over PF Changs on most occasions.

Oh pei wei you showed promise at first and you let me down hard. Being out of dinner ideas, and in the mood for asian we decided to check out baby p.f. changs I mean Pei Wei. After about a good look at the menu, we decided on the crab wontons, chicken lo mein, honey garlic chicken and beef and broccoli. Right when we were seated the crab wontons came out followed by Shrimp lo mein? The manager must have quickly realized the mistake because he came over to see if everything was ok before we could flag him down. My sister enjoys shrimp so she was cool with the mix up and we let it go. If this was the only issue we might have been talking 3-4 stars but it got worse. Then we get my honey garlic chicken, and the beef and something else, but not beef and broccoli. there was no broccoli on the plate? We flag down the waiter who delivered the dish and let him know this was obviously not our dish and if it is, its missing a crucial element. He said ok took the plate and was off back to the kitchen. So we sit and wait for the new dish.. and wait... and wait some more, and after a while my mom calls for the manager to let him know the situation. He said no one had informed him of the dish being sent back and was extremely apologetic and went to get things fixed. He had the kitchen make a new dish but by the time it came out the rest of the family chowed on my honey garlic chicken and didn't really want it. Instead we packed it up in a to go box to eat another day. The manager came by again to apologize and gave us a $10 card to come back another night. The sad part about this whole story is that all these screw ups happened and there was only 2 couples in the restaurant. and one person waiting for take out. so It wasn't busy in the slightest from what I could see. The only saving grace was the food... I loved my honey garlic chicken and the leftover beef and broccoli was delish, the lo mein was just ok. Maybe next time will be better. I'll have to use the card and update the review. (edit: i had posted this in the wrong pei wei at first, this is the correct location now. Kendal drive and 137 ave)

IN SUMMATION : If you're looking for AUTHENTIC tasting Asian food, avoid Pei Wei. If you have an insatiable hunger and looking to fill up that belly , Pei Wei provides good sized portions of food. They don't skim on the rice, chicken, shrimp,etc... I just wish it would taste better. My family ordered take out from this location. This is what we had (I ate from each plate) Thai Coconut Curry - pasty/clumpy not milky like I expected it. Not enough to "drown" even a 1/3 of the rice they give you. Far from any authentic coconut curry taste. Pad Thai - if you don't know what this is supposed to taste like, you'll just think "wow, these are some unique TANGY tasting noodles". Def not Pad Thai I've eaten before. Spicy and it sucked. Caramel Chicken ?something.. It's a new item. I forgot the name. It was OK. Fried Rice (w/shrimp) - a little above average. Pretty tasty

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
