This place is as dirty as they come for restaurants. I went today with my family for lunch to satisfy a craving. When we received our utensils wrapped in a napkin I opened it half-way, took out the fork and began eating. Later when I opened it all the way, there was a TINY ROACH WRAPPED IN THE NAPKIN!! I threw it away immediately and told the waitress. As a family member finished his dessert I noticed something on the fruit, at first he thought it was a watermelon seed although it looked suspicious. I inspected it further and put it on a napkin and it was ANOTHER ROACH ON THE FRUIT!!! When we brought this to their attention they offered an insulting 10% discount when the whole thing should've been compted. I will never go there again and the HEALTH INSPECTORS SHOULD CLOSE THIS PLACE DOWN!!!

Disgusting!!! After what I found on my food... I used to go here almost all the time since it is across FIU. However, I decided to not go because at how disgusted I was after finding half of a dead lizard in the salmon that I was about to eat. Not only they didn't apologize and charge me for the food instead of giving me a discount for the inconvenience, they come up with the excuse "It's only a face." Of course, it's only a face of a dead lizard with of its body cut off and some of the intestines coming out of it. It was disgusting, I refuse to ever eat there even if they offer me free food for a year.

Terrible. Save yourself. I'm surprised I'm alive. The food was cold, sushi terrible, service non existent.

Today was a bad at China Apple Buffet. The customer service was mediocre. The food lacked appeal. The house special fried rice looked like it was made straight out of Latin America. The chicken selection was scarce and soggy! The waitress was not on point with the refills. The pizza was sauce less. The overall experience was abysmal. Horrible

This buffet place with quick food for a cheap price, it is ok. We are careful in our selection of what we eat here. The place looks filthy and run down. The waiters are nice most of the time we have been there. I wonder why this place has not been inspected by the Health Department. Be careful with what you eat at any buffet places. Remember: you get what you pay for.

OK for cheap, mass produced buffet food. Have been here several ties for a quick bite. It's really not bad food, just average. The service is sometimes awful with hostess on her cell phone often, still continuing to text while walking you to your table... but again for cheap, quick food it's ok.

Ehhhh it was okay nothing special. Typical Chinese food. Nothing really stood out to me at all at the place besides the price. It's one of those you get what you pay for places. After visiting here it made me miss living in North Miami and being two minutes away from Ginza.

Last went there on a week night at 9pm-ish.(they close at 10) Walked in, took a look at the buffet tables and the word "dreadful" came to mind. It was all downhill from there. Okay, it was late but if you're still serving than the offering should be fresh and tasty looking. The dregs that I saw were just that. Dried out,old and sad looking, stuck to the pan or sitting in a grease puddle... I could go on but why bother.I won't be back. Funny, they did let a party in after 10. Guy sitting at the table next to me had a whole plate of old-dry looking french fries which he ate enthusiastically. No accounting for taste. To be fair, the honey chicken was good, decent. My friend took all that was left and nothing else. She was happy. Don't understand how a really good place like Ookie Sushi , formerly King Buffet, where everything was fresh and constantly replenished no matter when you were there goes out of business and China Apple prevails.. Such is life.

Most horrible eating experience. Called to ask if there was sushi and stir fry before going and then when we got there and no stir try and the sushi doesn't look rather edible at all. Never heard of sushi with ham in it. The air conditioner also wasn't working so it was terribly hot. Not worth the money.

The buffet special here is very affordable! $16 bucks for 2 included fountain drinks and tax. Unfortunately, the food was cold and not yummy at all! I tried a lot of it because I understood food at a buffet may get cold at timespans if it's slow. But it was lunch time! I got there at 12:15 and a lot of the food was cold. The only thing I liked was the wonton soup. The fried rice had no flavor. I think they should consider having less offerings and focusing on a few select popular dishes that are maintained fresh and prepared well.

Wow. I went today for a quick lunch with my cousin, it was pretty empty and we basically didn't really see the server for a refill on the drinks or check so when I finally paid I placed a line on the tip because really what did they do after I ate just one plate? She told me 'it doesn't include tip' (guess they don't include good service either? Lol) I wrote in a dollar. Shouldn't have been pressured to write anything after that crappy service and attitude. I've never had a problems, always polite and I tip well but this just takes the cake in first time experiences. P.s we both got sick haha guess next time we'll aim a bit higher. :D

Terrible food. This place used to be GOOD and DECENT. But as it's raised its price, it's lowered its standards in the food! The sushi is DISGUSTING and soggy and wet. Tastes horrible and stale. Left out on the table in a fly zone. Nobody swats the critters away. The shrimp is NEVER fresh. The cooking is bad. It's not even decent. Waitresses stands in the waiting area chit chatting and doesn't even notice your pile of empty plates!

As long as the place is packed with people, the food will circulate, which makes the food decent. The most variety of foods I seen so far. Sure it's not Shinju but you get what you pay for which lots and lots of food.

Showed up at about 820 or so and the place was still full of patrons. Scene reminded me of Tijuana Chinese spots I frequented as a kid because of the decor and the Spanish speaking. Other than that, I had no preconceived notions as my hunger was taking over any type of coherent thought. Attacked the buffet tables with a ferocity hardly seen in most. Went after the chicken dishes as those looked the most appetizing. Totally didn't see the fried food tables until my third trip. Killed the sushi table leaving virtually nothing for others except for ginger. Had some chicken terri generic dish that I enjoyed. Never will get the hot and sour soup though. It was hot, it was sour, it wasn't good. The soup and the service was my only complaint. I had to wait for about 25 minutes for a refill of water. With spicy, sweet and salty food, you need a pitcher of water. I ate so much, was uncomfortable full. Promptly came home and fell asleep watching Game 6 of the Western Conference playoffs.. That's how much the food got me. Thanks for the food coma, China Apple Buffet!

I'm going to start by saying three stars because you get what you pay for if your going to pay 8.75 at a buffet. This isn't Shinju or POC, this is China Apple Buffet on 107 and 8 st. First of the place is actually really nice and huge, the fish tank is pretty gnarly! On to the food.. It was okay. Everything was a bit cold. But I mean it wasn't bad at all.. Just not great. The service was the same and the food, okay, not great, just okay. As it was getting more packed the food was fresher, they were bringing more stuff out. I guess we ate dinner a little early? 6:30ish. So that probably explains if some items were just sitting there. But nonetheless it was good and yeah, I would come again.. Its only 8.75!

Lower your expectations and you might actually enjoy yourself. I know that sounds awful when talking about anything, let alone a restaurant. But this place really isn't too bad. The place underwent new management, but the food options are relatively the same. From the outside, it could look pretty nice. As soon as you walk in, there is a giant lobby and two huge dining rooms. The service is alright. They never really smile but they refill your drinks and take away your plates, so they still do their job. The food here isn't too bad. They have your normal chinese food staples like honey chicken, lo mein, fried rice, and the like. They also serve up various other dishes like chicken nuggets, pizza, roast pork, etc. Last time I went they had sushi, but not sure if they kept this up. The food is pretty decent. Nothing tasted extraordinary, but nothing tasted awful either. The ice cream and salad bars are actually pretty good. (Friend had 9 bowls of ice cream once, because we told him we'd pay for his meal....we did and later, he paid for his meal...he paid dearly.....) Lunch is REAL Cheap. Dinner is one of the cheapest buffets you can find as well. They have several buffet tables so the variety is there. Years ago, this place used to be a happenin' buffet. Now it's died down considerably over the years, but remains a decent chinese buffet option.

It's pretty much like any other Chinese buffet, but, at least when I went, the quality of the food was better than the other buffets I have eaten at. We got pretty good service, they smiled, were friendly, refilled our drinks and were quite attentative to our table. They do have a sushi buffet which I loved because they have a great selection for the price that you pay for the buffet to begin with. If you eat a lot of the sushi, make sure you tip the sushi chef though :). Dinner buffet was $9 which was awesome because I've never seen one that cheap before.

i have gone here two times because my friends and i we were looking foward to find a good and cheap buffet and i did this place is alright it has many dishes to choose from and the price per person is not that cheap nor expensive and so i woudl highly recomend that if you like chinese food. it is well worth for the price.

Not bad at all. They have a pretty decent selection to choose from Chinese food, a few American dishes, a Sushi cart (which you can have made fresh for you), and an ice cream cart as well. It's a simple place, not expensive, two people eat dinner there for $22, and lunch for less than $17.00. I like the Sushi, garlic vegetables, and fried shrimp is pretty good too. Although I didn't try it, I was told the pizza is actually very delicious. Some dishes don't look appetizing. It's a big place, you probably won't have to ever wait to be seated.

all I can say is that the place is dated, looks dirty and the food did not taste as yummy as other buffets I've been too. I will never come back as the service can use some help.

Me and my girlfriend came here 2 hours before they closed. There was barely any cars in the parking lot and some of the lights were off inside. We both hesitated to go in as we saw no one inside, not even the hostess. We were hungry so we went in anyway. They turned off the heat for the food and it was very cold and very little variety to choose from. This is why I rated 1 star: I asked for a refill and instead was given a check. These people are horrible! AS SOON as I placed my money on the table and tried to get up the waiter RAN to the table and GRABBED the money as soon as she can and counted it. She was so rude! She was all up in my face and in my way counting the money while I tried to get up and leave. She was too busy counting instead of saying thank you. They think you dont pay or tip. I couldn't believe how fast and desperate these waiters are for your money like animals! They treat you like criminals and I REGRET leaving a tip. Me and my girlfriend had so much gas afterwards and couldnt stop using the bathroom. NEVER ever again. (I consumed sushi and immediately spit it out in a napkin. It tasted old and bland and I didnt want to regret getting worms) Please, go somewhere else. I still couldn't believe how fast she snatched that money from the table before i even got up.

I came here with my fiancé last weekend, and since we were too far from our typical dinner spot, we came to this buffet and I must say I will never come here again. I am not picky with my food whatsoever so for me to write a review says a lot. So, anyways we came here around 10ish I believe, the place was super super empty for a Saturday, both him & I were pretty astounded by the fact that a restaurant was DEAD on a Saturday night. When we got there, I noticed how run down this place was, I even mentioned to my fiancé that I felt like I was in a mental hospital on how bleak the placed looked, (lol) everything just looked cheap and old. Now for the food, the food was extremely cold, as if it had been out all day, (which it probably had). It didn't even taste that great to begin with, and the service also sucked. The waitresses were too busy yapping away, watching tv and not even minding that we needed refills, my fiancé asked for one and never even got one. As we were leaving, my fiancé tried to put his money and tip and automatically leave in order to avoid being bombarded by the waitress but unfortunately since she had been eyeing us our whole stay there, she came to our table and looked to see if we had tipped her WTF. And to add the icing to the cake, me and my fiancé had some serious problems with our tummies after we had visited the restaurant and as I'm typing I still feel horrible. End of story, the food was sickening and cold & the service was horrible. Save your money and go somewhere decent, avoid this food at all costs;10 bucks is not worth getting sick. Never coming here again.

One star because no stars is not an option. Highly doubt would pass an inspection. Food is cold and looks like it has been sitting out all day. Won't be back.

I really wasn't expectation much when my friends decided they want Chinese buffet, but I didn't argue. It's pretty much like any other Chinese buffet. The quality of the food was not great, but then again what more can you ask for. They pretty much have everything you can order at any Chinese restaurant plus some more; pizza and chicken nuggets. Yes, their ice cream was pretty good, but nothing I would have had at any other restaurant. Since what everyone thought was vanilla was actually lime, I settled for a couple of scoops of pecan and coffee ice cream; which was surprisingly good.

This buffet has good service and good food. It is sometimes messy at the buffet area, but they clean up fast and that is the fault of the people who are serving and not the staff. You will always get seated quickly and refills of your drinks quickly. For students who go to FIU this is a great option for quick lunches before your next class, though you may want to walk to and from the restaurant so that you get loose before eating and after eating.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
