I love their chicken quesadillas. I started coming here about 4 years ago and they have always made the best "americanized" mexican food in the area. I've noticed that they have lost a bit of quality for this location only. Its not as clean as the other locations and the line is crazy long. Sometimes you might even have to wait 20 min before giving your order. Thank goodness staff is extremely friendly!

Will start with the con in order to end this review on a good note. Went on a random Thursday for lunch, the employees are soooooo slow, they took forever to acknowledge me and take my order. While making my food, they world ineffectively, while there was a very big line behind me . Now for the pro... I had the chicken quesadilla, which it was very tasteful, For about 8$, you get a large chicken quesadilla with chips on the side. The quesadilla was full of chicken, and very very yummy flavors . Don't forget to take the pico de gallo for the chips when ordering take out, I made that mistake

Food is good but it's best if you bring a friend as these plates are HUGE. Price is ok Their veggies ARE from someway next door... I can taste their GMO food Anyways this place is just a cool hang out Will be back once every 6 months

.....while my thesaurus is looking for an adjective to describe the burrito I just had, let me do a little reviewing here.. Similar to a Moe's or Chipotle the biggest difference you will find is in the tortilla used to make the burrito. Freshly made and grilled, the taste of the flour tortilla is immediately discernible. It makes a huge difference. All the ingredients look fresh and well apportioned on each order. The menu is typical Tex-Mex with tacos, rice bowls, burritos, and quesadillas. All of them made to order. An order of chips rounds out your meal. There's a salsa bar and for the more robust eaters amongst us, you can order guacamole and queso on the side. A little warning, the guacamole is fresh, chunky, and delicious! Tip - A little queso goes a long way. Order it as a side and dip your chips to your heart's content!

It's very similar to Moe's and/or Lime. It's great food for a good value. I personally had a Pork and Bacon quesadilla and it was delicious. Complimentary nachos are good by themselves, but I definitely recommend the queso to go with them. The wait time was a little long, but the place was packed, so it felt reasonable.

The food here is very good and fast. I hear it's owned by subway. It's a lot like moes, but much more delicious in my opinion. They accept five star so you get a free meal when you collect enough points. I always get either the chicken burrito or the rice bowl. The chicken is always flavored perfectly! Just the right amount of lemon flavor. You can pick from whole wheat or white wraps and they have a brown rice option. YUM. I always ask for sour cream on the side and for some reason they always seem to forget, very strange. The only thing I wish they would change is their salsa verde from the salsa bar. It taste like it comes straight from a can (I bet it does). Otherwise the other sauces, pico and mango salsa rock. They also have different sauces behind the counter that you can add to your meal or get on the side. The habanero and garlic cilantro are my two favorite. Check this place out for a delicious meal when you don't feel like cooking. You won't regret it.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Cantina! Forget chipotle please.. they're just taking your money. If you're hungry and are craving a huge and delicious burrito or bowl, then Cantina is where you need to be! It's cheaper, they give you way more food, they have a bunch of different sauces to put in your food and the chips are FREE! I've tried their burritos, nachos, bowls and quesadillas but I've never tried their tacos or salads. They have some salsa's out for your chips. The mango salsa is seriously so amazing! Don't leave without trying it! They also have a rewards program so every now and then you get a free meal! I'm always coming back and always leave with my burrito craving satisfied.

Really yummy! The nachos are very good but I wouldn't recommended ground beef it taste artificial. I got that the first time and did not like it. The best way to go is either with steak or chicken in my opinion (not a pork person). The nachos and quesadillas are really delicious. The Pico de gallo and melted cheese top it off but don't forget the refried beans! I recommend this place for anyone looking to get some Mexican treats and not just chipotle.

If you come here bring your patience because not a single person here likes to work. You'll do lots of standing and waiting, is it worth the wait ? Depends on how much you don't want to cook... Where's the manager ?

    (1)
  • Mario R.

An upgrade over Taco Bell, but that isn't saying much. Ground beef needs a little more flavor, refried beans are out of a can, and their green sauce tastes like water. What the hell is it supposed to be anyway? I definitely won't waste my time driving here again, especially since there is an authentic Mexican restaurant closer to me.

  • Lemay S.

Amazing! Move over Chipotle!!!! All of their tortillas are made instantly while you wait in line. Great service. Something it gets packed, but worth the wait.

So I've been to this place many times and I feel the need to review it now because I haven't been there in a while yet still feel the same way. When I started going, I loved it, I've only eaten a burrito here but it was my go to burrito place over chipotle, since I get a salad there. However with time, I started noticing a weird taste in my burrito and eventually realized that it was the guac. It was as if the guac was bad or something so I stopped ordering guac and it was okay. The only thing I really love is their cheso. I've been told that they use the same ingredients as subway and I don't eat subway so I stopped going there. Regardless the food is okay, the service is horrible, no one speaks English or cares about making the customer happy and overall it's terribly overpriced.

Love this place. They raised prices, but the portions are huge. You can split a meal. Great taste!

  • Aly F.

Service was good, but the ground beef was horrible. Tried the taco platter with ground beef and was highly disappointed. However the chicken quesadilla was better but very greasy. I wish my experience wouldn't have been so disappointing.

I cannot believe that this place was close to my house for the past few years, and I never visited them. My friend and fellow Yelper, Jania T., took me to this place before I left for my Thanksgiving trip, and this place was phenomenal yet simple with a touch of class. It is basically a Subway for Mexican food. You just go to the counter. Choose whether you want burritos, tacos, salads, quesadillas, etc, and then go through the ingredients bar, and choose which ingredients you want. By the way, all ingredients taste fresh. If you want double meat, they will give it to you for a few dollars more. Also, I must warn you that the guacamole is a tad bit salty. So avoid it, if you are trying to avoid extra salt from your diet. Their salsa bar also has eight different types of salsa, which is quite flavorful. I highly recommend the mango salsa. It has the right amount of sweetness in it. I will come here again if I want quick Mexican food--you easily get your food in 10 minutes or less.

  • Amanda T.

I always come here since it's walking distance from my house. This place works sort of like subways where you run down a line and add whatever toppings you would like to your meal. ingrediants are always fresh and the\y portions served are large. Beware the line here is always long but it's well worth the wait.

    (4)
  • Julie H.

We eat here all the time. My kids love the food and so do I. Everything is fresh and you can choose from a variety of toppings that are heaped on subway style while you watch. The avocado ranch sauce is amazing. They have a bar of fresh sauces too. The staff is always friendly too. I plan to be a regular for a long time.

  • Rachel M.

Really confused about some of the ratings on here. I've eaten here several times and the staff has always been very polite and friendly. Everything I've eaten from here has been fresh and super delicious. Comparing Cantina Grill to Taco Bell is a low blow. Seriously, I encourage you to order just a -plain- cheese and chicken taco from here and one from Taco Bell to really compare the main ingredients. I'm sorry but there is just no comparison. Here, the ingredients are always fresh and delicious. Definitely try the queso! Also, the fried cheesecake is one of the best fried cheesecakes I've had in Kendall -- that white chocolate coconut sauce is sooo good.

  • Ray F.

The tacos are ok, but the service is super slow and and on top of that they confused my order and gave me different thing then what I order and payed for! I asked the person to repeat the order, like I always do, when they handed me the bag....and they confirmed it. As soon as I went home I saw they had given me 3 soft tacos instead of 6 hard tacos!!!!! You guys need to focus, everyone looks and acts distracted. I didn't have enough food for everyone and it really bummed everyone out, My son love the burritos and he love the place, but i will think about came back there.

Cantina Fresh MEX Grill is still the best place to get Mexican food in Miami they have great individual Steak Quesadillas and Nachos and staff has always been as friendly as a Dolphin love this place yummy food

Ok yes I admit I walked in about 30 mins to close time but its a saturday and all three employees behind the counter looked at me and no one acknowledged me. I stood there for a few minutes and i guess they were hoping i would just leave, which i did. Horrible! It was going to be my first try and I will not be back!

Best food ever! Always fresh! They do take a little longer since the tortillas and meat are made to order. Go try it out

  • Janexis R.

Came here with my parents for the first time yesterday and I must say I was pretty impressed. The food portion is good & they have a lot of different toppings to choose from . The only reason I'm giving it a four stars is because there were little flies around our table half of the time and that was highly irritating I hope it's not always like that . My rating on taste is a 5 though will come again but for take out .

Great service. Delicious food. Always fresh. You get a lot of food for the price. Super great customer service.

  • Leo R.

Food was ok but I did find it a little overpriced. Over $ 8 for a burrito plus a $2 drink is not bargain in a not so fancy setting..

    (2)
  • Rotten R.

The food is definitely delicious. The chicken is so tasty. Copious amount of delicious toppings. They're a little slow and in my opinion way too expensive. I've had just as good quality food for much less.

  • Sergio F.

Love this place ! Definitely way better than chipotle. Although, the burrito is good my favorite is the chicken quesadilla ! Great Taste ! Plus make sure you get some queso to dip your chips in. Customer Service varies but overall great place to eat.

  • MickeyBlue I.

Although it merits only 3 stars I have to say that the majority of it was due to efficient and good customer service. The service is extremely slow and unorganized, but we were lucky to be served by the young Ricky Martin look-a-like who was very quick and professional. The food is nothing to write about. The steak is tough and chewy not really good quality. The chips are fresh and crunchy, and the cheesecake was surprisingly good! Topped with fresh strawberries, chocolate drizzle and whipped cream. Overall I doubt I'd return.

I love love love me some cantina grill!!! There aren't a lot of good food choices in this area and I'm so glad cantina is here ! The food is fresh & truly delicious !!!!! The quesadilla is my fav, the guac is incredible & the prices are spot on.

Im a frequent customer for Cantina and everyone that works for them are amazing except one employee. I didn't get her name but shes a elderly lady with glassy and you wont miss her with her attitude and sassiness. I believe there food is really amazing but i don't they are losing customers because of this ladies poor service. Hope no one else goes through this experience.

If you like Mexican food, you MUST try this spot. It has the same ordering style as chipotle but the quality of the food is 10000 times better. Hands down one of the best Mexican restaurant . The habanero and chipotle sauce are to die for along with there queso dip . There wraps for burritos and quesadillas are freshly made while you're ordering and every meal comes with a side of fresh chips ! I DEFINITELY recommend this place

    (5)
  • Katy S.

Cantina Grill, I like you! This place has it going on. So much that they are even expanding their space (construction is currently going on in the store). Chicken burritos-YUM! And only $5-you simply cannot beat that. Their queso is amazing with the chips :o) Tacos: I only recommend the chicken, steak, or ground beef. Their pork was horrible. I'm a regular here and really dig their food. Plus it's really close to my house so who can beat that?

Can't go wrong with this place portions are huge the nachos are amazing, always supper busy so count on a line but it's worth it.

I use to be a Moe'z Southwest fan till a friend told me about Cantina Grill, this place is AMAZING and they make the tortilla's right in front of you from scratch!!, They have amazing fire roasted corn and a mango salsa which is to die for!!!!!

  • Rosario P.

This is really a 3.5 review. The staff was friendly for the most part (except for a rude guy working the register). We walked in at around 9:30 p.m on a thursday night and there were about 5 other costumers in the restaurant. We ordered the steak burrito with extra guacamole. It was very good, especially if you add some of that mango salsa they have at the salsa bar. YUM! Their queso was pretty good as well, and if you check in with your yelp app you get one for free ;)

  • Heather S.

I tried this place one time and it was alright. I figured I would give it a second try and I regret it. The food is not fresh and tastes mediocre. I went with my boyfriend and he now has food poisoning from the burrito he had. I tried to get in contact with the company but they don't even have a website. Definitely will not return to this place. I'll stick with Chipotle.

  • Sebastian G.

Was here with my friends, ordered a burrito and it was delicious. I loved that they made the tortilla on the spot, they have tons of sauces to choose from, all the ingredients seemed very fresh. Downside is how long it took to get the burrito done, the service is a little slow (there was a lot of people when I went only 2 people and 1 cashier) other than that great place

    (4)
  • Carlos P.

The steak quesadilla was amazing. The chicken burrito was also very good. I will definitely be coming back. Its so close to my house, I'm surprised I hadn't seen it before.

    (5)
  • Lola F.

Their tortillas are made fresh (they make them wheat too). The burritos are huge, the fish tacos are my fave. Best Mexican fast food place. They do get busy during lunch and because everything even the tortillas are made to order the line can take while so if you have a short lunch I'd call and order first. They offer frequent buyer discounts. You pick your bowl, burrito, taco, etc. and then you choose what toppings (pile it on). I tend to eat here for lunch pretty often.

    (4)
  • Cyn P.

Fresh ingredients and quick service. Love their rice bowls, quesadillas and even their salad. Make sure to ask for queso!

    (5)
  • Tyrone J.

Had a terrible experience. The burrito I have purchased was huge! But size isn't everything. There was barely any chicken inside and it wasn't good. It's the best burrito in miami. According to the miami times. I just don't taste it.

Great burritos and quesadillas. For a good price. Best I've had I have become a regular. Love this place

Only place I've seen in Kendall that makes fresh tortillas. Food is great, fresh and made to order.

  • Mariella A.

Love this place! Since the first time my husband and I came; we've been hooked! They give you the option of white or wheat tortillas, but what's great is they're homemade; they pull the dough balls out and flatten them with an air machine. You have several toppings to choose from and if you're a sauce kind of person like me, you're in heaven! They have like 10 different sauces to choose from; my favorites are the garlic cilantro and the habanero. You receive tortilla chips with every order and you pick which salsas you want from the salsa bar. Each night they have a different special; be sure to ask about them. All in all...great "fast food" Mexican joint in the west Kendall area.

    (4)
  • Rachel P.

Great fresh-Mex!! The Queso is sooooooo yummy and seems to me a hard find in Miami. I love this stuff and you get a small one free if you Check-in on Yelp. Both the hard tacos and quesadillas are delish. I can see how people would compare this to Chipotle, but to me, it is much better! I think all it needs is frozen margaritas and it would get the 5 star treatment! Also, the have a cute little area in the back just for kids, kids table and tv.

I came here on Saturday evening for Michelle Z's "I Love Meeshes to Pieces" / fund raiser event for her upcoming race with the Leukemia/Lymphoma society. When I saw the name "Cantina Grill", for some reason I was expecting to find decor similar to a Senior Frogs or Carlos 'n Charlie's. In reality, Cantina Grill is located in a strip mall and reminded me a lot of Baja Fresh in its appearance and concept. As someone else commented, the process works a lot like Subway: You get in line, pick your entree (burrito, nachos, quesadilla, taco platter, etc.), select a white or whole wheat tortilla if applicable, then pick the type of meat you'd like (chicken, pork, ground beef, steak, fish or meatless/vegatarian). Beyond that, you work your way down the preparation line similar to the way you would at Subway and tell them which additional items and toppings you'd like them to add (i.e. white or brown rice, black or refried beans, cheese, guacamole, sour cream, salsa, etc.) I had the steak burrito which was $7.99, and was charged $1.19 extra because I got guacamole on it. Each of their entrees comes with chips and you can help yourself to about 6 different types of salsa. My burrito was HUGE, and with the chips/salsa, it made for a meal so large that I wasn't able to finish it, all for a bit under $10, not including a beverage. Not bad! The service was good, staff were friendly and on this night the 5 or 6 people behind the counter had no trouble at all keeping up with the constant influx of customers. There are 2 big screen TVs inside, but the seating area isn't huge so if you come when this restaurant is busy, you may end up getting your order to go. Cantina Grill does serve beer (Bud Light, Miller Light, Bud Light Lime and Corona bottles), but because of the decor and overhead fluorescent lighting, this isn't really the place to kick back and have a beer with your meal IMO. Kudos and a 4th star to this locally owned business because, on this night, they agreed to give 20% of their sales towards Michelle's fund raising efforts as she prepares to race for the Leukemia and Lymphoma society!

This place has become our new lunch spot when we're craving Mexican food! The concept is similar to that of Chipotle, but the food is a million times better!!! It also surpasses Lime Fresh Mexican Grill since it's cheaper and they're not stingy with their meat, which is always good! The place is pretty small with a few tables and it can get crowded and smokey. We had the Steak Taco Entree (two soft or hard shell tacos with chips) and the Steak Nacho Entree with whatever toppings you choose. You can choose between a whole wheat or white tortilla for your tacos and burritos. And please be advised - the nacho entree is big enough for two people!!! Make sure you try the QUESO!!!

So I think it's time I updated my review since I did it in 2012. First off, I've been consistently going here since this location was half the size and this was the only location. I love love love everything they make here, from the steak burritos to the roasted corn. The place is very clean every time I go, which is mostly on the weekend when they have longer lines around 8. The staff is very friendly and don't be wary if you think the older folk only speak Spanish. I'm not going into much detail with every individual item because they're all just great. The ingredients are fresh and the proteins are juicy and well seasoned. As far as sauces go, you can never go wrong with southwest chipotle or the mango salsa for the chips. The queso dip is also something you should try at least once! This is not going to change the amount of stars I put originally (4) but I would like to point out that I have a grievance with their very simple ordering style. If you're not familiar with it, you pick any meat(or go meatless) from there menu and your order is that price whether you pick a salad, taco platter, quesadilla, or burrito. I went on a diet recently and I slowed down my Cantina intake, so naturally, the best thing for me to do without stopping my visits was to order a salad. C'mon, $8.50 for a chicken salad? There's about half as many ingredients going into it compared to a burrito. Separate it(and maybe the taco platter) from the others and charge a bit less.

  • Michelle J.

I can eat here everyday!!! Service is great as long as you don't get a new employee, otherwise be patient because service will be slow but the food is worth the wait. Chicken quesadillas are my favorite. Hubby loves the steak rice bowl. The chipotle sauce is the best. Also they have a great rewards program!

    (5)
  • Annette F.

Although the food is good and the portions are enough for two. Service was lacking. If I'm speaking to the server in english why in the world would she continue to talk to me in spanish. I know we live in "north Cuba" but my first language is not spanish. This is probably why they had to redo two of my orders.

    (3)
  • Javier L.

This is by far the worst "Mexican" restaurant ever. They quality of the food doesn't surpass fast food quality.

    (1)
  • Ashley C.

Chicken nachos are a hit! Very juicy chicken. Also ordered steak rice bowl, it's alright the steak was chewy but good flavor. My boyfriend ordered pork tacos that he said were delicious. Only complaint was the distribution of pork between the tacos was off,one had a pinch of meat and mostly cheese. Wouldn't go out of my way for this place but if it's close by, its a good spot.

Went for lunch very similar to chipolte serivice was very friendly and the place was very clean. Food was good you have a few choices and you ass the meat. I went for the quesdilla for $8.99 and you can add whatever you want comes with chips, and salsa.

  • Jacky G.

So I went back, and I HAVE to say that I was extra pleased this time around! Back when I wrote my first review, I received an email from them saying they apologized for the poor service and that they really wanted to make it better. They even offered me a voucher to use on my next visit, but I declined it because they asked me for my mailing address, and I preferred to not volunteer the information;you never know! For that in itself they deserve a huge amount of credit! Any business that makes such effort to keep their customers, deserves a second chance! This time, I went on a Friday afternoon on a teacher's work day and the place was much less crowded than the first time. The gentleman that took my order was VERY nice and attentive. He made my food exactly how I wanted it and the entire time with a smile and a pleasing attitude. I had the burrito with chicken and it was fantastic! I don't know what it was about it this time, but it really tasted awesome! The mango salsa, again was DELISH! I was even able to use a check-in offer for a free cheese side. I still think this place is a bit pricey, but I don't mind paying for what I consider great tasting food, and now really good service! Kudos for improvement and effort!

Honestly the best burrito I've had in Miami. I was sold when they freshly pressed and cooked my tortilla right then and there.

This place is great! My bf and I are regulars and I don't think we'll ever get tired of the huge portions and deliciousness of this absolute gold-mine. Only down side would probably be the wait.

  • Emily B.

For a semi-fast food place the quality is great. The chicken & meat are well seasoned, the toppings are fresh, & the queso is def a guilty pleasure. Most of the employees are quick & friendly. The points system they have set up allows you a free entree every 10 or so (I'm not 100% sure). Anyways, it's a top Tex-mex spot out here in west bird road area.

  • Sabrina P.

I love Cantina's if I can eat there all day everyday I would. My favorite is the Chicken Quesdilla is amazing. I would rather spend little more money than going to Taco Bell Grade D meat.

  • Michelle Z.

All I can say about this place is summed up in one word. Queso. Queso, Oh Queso. You come in a cup Queso, oh Queso, you come filled with luck. Queso oh Queso, so creamy and white Queso oh, Queso my tummy's delight. Queso, you fool, you have me addicted. Queso, without you, my food is conflicted. Queso, you give my nachos some style. Queso, my favorite, my tastesbuds gone wild.

  • Rachel S.

I used to come here all the time before I went into crazy work out mode. The chicken burrito used to be $5 & it included chips & a drink... ugh Obama you're ruining the economy. I love their steak quesadillas & their improved subway cookies lol. Queso is pretty good & I love their mango salsa even though I know it comes from some kind of jarred brand. Mmmm gotta start coming here again on cheat days though.

Best described as the Mexican "Subway" experience in its freshness and style of ordering. You wont find abuelita in the kitchen cooking or an extensive menu of home made Mexican goodness but in its most simple form it is fresh and quick. The service is friendly and very fast, they have the ordering process down packed. The line is usually out the door but it never feels like your waiting very long. Seems to have plenty of seating for the crowd and its maintained pretty clean. Flavors were good, again very fresh, and they serve beer need I say anything else? I'm in for being a repeat customer. Good for a quick meal and if your hankering a healthier version of Mexican fast food.

One day in my journey to the opposite end of the earth.. err.. the county, I stumbled upon this joint. I drove right past it and a minute later hunger struck! I wondered.. Should I try it? I pulled out my iPhone and quickly stabbed at the Yelp app.. 5 stars? My Prius suddenly veered 180 degrees and drove me right to the doorstep. Upon entering my first impression was.. Oh, another Chipotle knock off! That was until I started to order. Flour or whole wheat tortilla asked the nice lady at the counter.. Flour please! She then pulled out a lump of dough and made my tortilla in front of me. Pork please! She pulled out a nice helping or pork and put it on the GRILL! Ok, definitely not a Chipotle knock off as they really do emphasize the Fresh part in their name. I finished my order with an assortment of toppings, including refried beans which is also not something done at their chain competitor. And to my surprise, my meal came with complimentary tortilla chips. Freshly made chips at that! I was even more impressed when I took my first bite. Freshly made tortilla wraps really do make a huge difference, it's so light and well.. fresh! I enjoyed every bite. Is it authentic Mexican? No, but it's damn good. It made my little trip to the other side of the planet worth it.

This place used to be AMAZING (like 7 stars worthy) but with time the quality has severely degraded! The last time I visited I was slightly disappointed. Yes, I think it's amazing how they make the tortilla as you order. And that's what distinguishes them from Lime and Moe's. But I feel like they are robbing you when you ask for meat on your burrito. The chicken burrito had just a small amount of chicken droplets.... To the point where you almost have to ask for a magnifying glass to see the chicken. Maybe 2 years ago I would have put Cantina as my number one Mexican fast food place. But after my recent visit it dropped down to my least favorite. The food is still good but I don't like when restaurants rob me for my money. If I'm paying more for chicken there better be chicken on my burrito!

This is as good as a burrito gets. It is the size of a newborn baby. And it is delicious. When you finish eating it, you will not believe you ate so much. It is the same price as Chipotle, but it's better. I love chipotle, but this blows it out the water. If you are ever ridiculously hungry and need food fast, find a Cantina!

I'm keeping this short but sweet. This place is by far the best fast foodTex-Mex in South FLA. The ingredients are fresh; service is great and they have a great rewards program. Check- in and you get a free side of queso (yum yum). Definitely check this place out when you get a chance and are in the mood for a quick bite. Everything on their menu is delish and the chipotle sauce is to die for :)

After not having the greatest time at Chipotle, I was looking for a place where this type of food can redeem itself and I found it! Granted, it's not authentic yummy Mexican but it still is delish. Definitely better than Chipotle and maybe even Moe's due to the fact that you have the option of whole-wheat tortilla or white tortilla, brown rice or white rice and 3 different types of beans. I was able to try their infamous queso and boy was it great with the chips! A must try when you come to this place. It was great in terms of service and efficiency. When I'm in the mood for Tex-Mex kind of food, this is my place to go from now on!

I live in Homestead and yet i find myself traveling to bird road and 147th ave for some great mexican food. Weird huh? Mexican food is not Taco Bell people. Mexican food is Mexican food made from real meat and real cheese. Throw that taco bell out the window and head over to Cantina Grill. Voted best burrito in Miami you know they know how to throw down a great quesadilla and taco. Oh! Oh! Oh! Don't forget the queso please! Get some nachos and dip dip dip it into the queso. YOu will not be sorry. After hearing some very good things about this place i decided to leave Homestead for some tasty and healthy mexican food. I was not dissappointed at all. Time to do mexican hat dance and then have some queso!

Tried this place and was impressed with their options. They offer whole wheat tortillas and rice. The Queso is also good. Unlike other local places, here they prepare the tortilla to order.

When I hear of a place my friends love I have to check it out, I am SO glad they were right in leading me to Cantina. If you are in the mood for something that tastes indulgent but it still on the healthy side Cantina is your place! Brown rice, grilled chicken and fresh veggies make for a delicious, satisfying and waist friendly meal. If you're throwing dietary caution to the wind, try their queso. It's a delicious little cup of white melty cheese that tastes amazing on everything you eat. Try it! Pair this with a big screen tv they will gladly change the channel on for you and you've got a friendly spot for a quick bite. I am officially adding it to my list of places for a convenient meal!

I love this place! They have the best nachOs ever! Its a chipolte style/moe's type of place. Burritos, fajitas, tacos and things like that. The person who helped me was named Mari, and she hooked up my nachos. When you check in with your yelp app you get a free queso, or free drink. I definitely like this place, the food is good and service is great.

Beats Moes, Lime, Baja and Chipotle. This place is seriously delicious and has a real homemade taste. I have been there a few times for take out only and always order the steak quesadilla with a whole wheat tortilla. I don't know what the secret ingredients are but the steak seasoning is perfect and not too salty. Also, they let you put just about every topping available in the quesadilla you can definitely share it with a friend. The chips and queso are worth the calories so order it and top it off with a chocolate chip cookie that is warm and gooey. I also like they are not cheap skates when it comes the amount of salsa you want to take so fill er up.

For a quick quesadilla this joint hit the spot. It's another fast-food Mexican-ish spot. They have the option of whole wheat tortillas which is nice if you're opting for healthier. Located in a strip mall, this was a nice change from usual fast food options. It definitely has a Subway like feel to it. Clean, efficient, quick. Am I dreaming of a return visit, no. Does anyone dream of Quiznos, Subways, Moe's, no ok Do people keep going back? yes Cross-apply to Cantina Grill

Voted Miami New Times Best Burrito of 2011 - Suffice it to say their burritos do NOT disappoint. However, everything on their menu is fresh and delicious. I love their rice bowls but the quesadillas are equally amazing. The fact that they serve beer is awesome and this is THE place to be on Cinco de Mayo. The new expansion is great and makes the place so much more comfortable and less cramped. Love love love going to cantina grill for a delicious, reasonably priced meal!

Not bad for a quick "Mexican" meal. The portions are big enough to share with two or even three people. They don't cheat you with their ingredients... So keep this in mind!! I've ordered the quesadillas and they put wayyyyyy to much cheese (literally two cups)... Can we say Heart Attack??? Unless you like tons of cheese, then I guess you'll be fine. I've never tried anything with chicken there, it looks like frozen chicken or super processed. They probably do the same to the steak, but I must say it taste good. They prepare it right in front of you and they have tons of choices to put on your burrito, tacos, and quesadillas. They give you chips with all your meals. Their salsa looks fresh (haven't tried it b/c I'm not a fan of salsa) However, they have this delicious orange sauce that's chipotle mixed with something else... Ohhhh it's sooo good. Spicy!!!! The cookies are good as well.... The owner of this place owns the Subway next door, so it's the same cookies. My daughter loves them.. They are always soft! It would be nice if they reduced some of the prices, but you do get a lot of food. If you are in the area and are looking for something other than fast food... This is a good choice... Ohhhh and you MUST know....(The only negative) you come out of there smelling like the place.... Keep your perfume/cologe/body spalsh near by... Happy eatings!!!!

Went here expecting decent mexican on the go. I was upset when i got a burrito (gf got tacos) we both were really disappointed int he quality. I somehow walked about paying 17 bucks for a burrito and taco meal (no drinks) My Burrito was 85% rice 15% ground beef The ground beef lacked any flavor last time i will go there

Went for the first time the other day on my lunch break, I had a chicken burrito, and I was at a lost for words! I was recommended by a few friends of mine, and I finally had the chance to go. Amazing place! Mango Salsa is on point!

I go there nearly every week at this point. Based on early reviews they clearly did some quality control late last year, and it's paid off. The steak is great. If there is a downside is it's frequently busy, and dire need of expansion into the neighboring suite.

My fiance and I are obsessed with this place. Since Lime is not in West Kendall (yet!), Cantina Grill is a fantastic substitute. The quesadillas are amazing. The food here is comparable to Lime in many ways, but this is a great place to go if you don't want the loud music and atmosphere that LIme has to offer- this place is small on ambience, but BIG on quality food. Also, they have one of those frequent visitor cards that gives you a free meal after 10 visits. It's a small business that's trying to grow in an increasingly competitive market of fast-food Mexican places, and they give some of the bigger, more popular places a run for their money. You can't go wrong here.

This mexican food is INCREDIBLE! I love this place. My hubby and I go every chance we get. Their food is always fresh and the taste is awesome. We found out that the owners are really mexican and they cook as authentic as it gets! Our favorite dish are their Nachos. My God they are huge and can feed a family of 4 with just one order! they also have some tasty healthy option slikes thier ground turkey instead of beef and they have whole wheat tortillas instead of the regular white. they have salads and a bunch of fresh veggies to pick from as well. I highly recomnd Cantina grill!

We are bimonthly patrons. Chicken quesadillas are amazing. Tried straying and went steak only to be dissapointed. The meat was tough. Extra chewing aside, We love this place.

The night we went it was free coronas and budlight!! not sure if this is a normal occurance on a Saturday Night but it was sure good to me! :) Best Sauce: Mango Chipotle! WOW!! Fresh and Yum! Small location and a little too out west for me. Not too many choices, tex mex style.

I frequent this place way to much to not raise it up a star. Easily, this is the place I eat out the most when I have no idea what I'm craving. True, it might be because of how convenient it is but I am not one to go to a place based on convenience. Flavor is always number one priority to me and this place is not lacking in that area. Although, this place may not be five star worthy, it definitely deserves the four from me. I love the fact that the tortillas here are freshly made. That was the thing that first caught my attention. And the fact that they have whole wheat brings it up a notch. Add whatever you like as if you were in Chipotle or Moe's except with some better options for the health conscious, such as brown rice. I also get burritos but have also tried the quesadillas, which are extremely cheesy (which I love). All meals come with free chips as well. The service is efficient as can be and the place is well kept. No complaints from me. And I love the fact that they are constantly having specials. A few weeks ago they had beef burritos for 5 bucks and this past time I went it was chicken burritos for 5 bucks. Tips- The queso is great for chips or burrito. I love the southwest sauce in my burrito. I always ask for extra.

This place was terrible. The was ok. But the service bad and they nickel and dime you for everything. Chicken Kitchen is so much better. You all have you're work cut out for you!

I love this place. I used to go to chipotle but this place is sooooooo much better and won't make you sick (see my chipotle review for more info). I have ordered every meat and none have let me down. They emphasize fresh and they deliver.

Personnally i love their burritos... That's pretty much my main thing there, i don't really like chips.. My wife really enjoy them thoughspecially with the guacamole. The service isnt always good and one of the guy should really learn how to close the burrito correctly... I'm happy they are going to open one on 107 ave and 88st soon... Closer !!

In my travels to California I experienced some good Mexican food from casual restaurants. This was not the case at Cantina Grill. The food tasted like it had been sitting around a while. I ordered the fish taco platter and my friend had a meat burrito. Both were lacking in flavor and the cheese was just a lump of a mess. I did enjoy the veggies in my taco, though again, tasted like it had been around a while. At the very least it was edible, I did not have a bad reaction to the food. Service was so-so. I have to remember that this is fast food Mexican.

Food is okay, however the service is horrible. the cook ask me if I was doing this for take out or dining in. I chose the wrong answer apparently by saying dining in. The cook explained to me in spanish (i guess he instantly forgot his english) that he was closing already (closing time is 11pm and it was 1025p).. So if you decide to go, make sure you get there at 10, they just might close almost an hour early...

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
