The food I ordered was really good and the service was really quick, however one or two things stop me from putting this at a 4 star. Let me start by saying that I didn't park at one of the drive-in ordering stations, I ate in. It's nice to have a Sonic that you can sit in at (something that will come in handy during hot Florida summers) and I'd be interested in coming back for happy hour for food/beer. I also think the drive-thru can be super convenient. I ordered a breakfast burrito with tots and a drink. Considering the fountain for the drink is in the back and not out front (like you might find at most fast food places) I wasn't sure what they had. Their online menu had advertised Mello Yello, which I asked for, however the person behind the counter wasn't sure so she had to go back and check. So the lack of a detailed menu in the front hurt a bit but I imagine that's growing pains from opening a new restaurant. The food came out fast. Significantly faster than the local McDonalds near where I work. However the food I received tasted hot and fresh. Crispy tots, burrito that was pretty filling and tasted like it was just made, and it didn't cost that much (even to get it large-sized). I was impressed. Cute little outdoor eating section too, complete with TV. Watch out for the sand. The few points I would take away is the aforementioned lack of a definitive menu. Considering this is a new place showing what you have and don't have, and what specials are available seems like something you'd need more front and center. I imagine that's something that will be addressed as the clientele get accustomed to the restaurant. Not only for the consumer but for the new employees as well. Second is a pretty big negative as far as dine in experiences go: no re-fills on drinks. I'm not talking about on a shake or one of their specialty drinks, but on a fountain drink. I expect that from smaller mom and pop style restaurants that only serve from a can or bottle but not from a dine-in place that gets drinks from a fountain. Last was the desert, which was a small gripe. I got the Sonic Oreo Blast which barely had any Oreos in it and wasn't well mixed, but the ice cream was still good. This place has a lot of potential and the food was really good. I think re-fills (and maybe a little bit of time) would be all that's needed to bump this up to a 4 star rating, because the quality of the food I got was pretty good considering the price.

They are getting it together. Food was ok. First time at any sonic. Lines are still very long. Hopefully will die down when they open regular hours.

We went there for the first time on Tuesday 03/11. First they messed up part our order and forgot my hot dog. The service from the young lady on skates was excellent. We each ordered the pretzel dogs. Mine was a foot long and my wifes was a regular size.First of all the Hot dog was some kind of mystery meat dog it didn't even taste like beef and to make it worse they even forgot to bring MUSTARD. I must say that he onions rings were excellent as were the tater tots with cheese. I might go back to try other menu items but the Hot dogs were terrible. Better to go to Penn Dutch who always serves their ALL beef hot dogs..

The 2nd best Chicago dog I have ever had! (The best is in Colorado Springs at Margo's located on the way to Manitou Springs.) And I have had a lot of Chicago dogs as I traveled all across the US for 5 years! It is rare to get a Chicago dog as good as this one was. My only suggestion is to put a green relish on the hot dogs that is a little less sweet. The chile cheese dog was OK but it needed more chile and more bite in the chile. The cheese was generous.

Fun place. Great service. Workers really seem to enjoy what they are doing. And where can you find anyone on roller skates anymore? As far as the food goes, the cheesesteak was awful. Chocolate shake was marginal. I just expected more.

I was so happy to see something new in the area when this location opened. They're right next to a Chick-fil-A and actually share a parking lot with them, so I thought that might hurt business for both places. But after being open now for a while and the novelty has worn off for people, the place has become more of a later night hang out. Going during the "dinner" rush (6ish) it isn't very busy. You'll see more of a crowd at Chick-fil-A instead. But going after 8 the place is a pretty happening place. I'm guessing it's because Sonic is open until 2am and serves beer and wine along with a the usual food and drink offerings. I've had most food on the menu, and I haven't been disappointed with anything. There are actually more menu items available than what's pictured on the menu, so if you don't see something you like, just look up the menu on your smartphone for Sonic, and they pretty much offer everything on that menu. My favorite is the popcorn chicken so I get that most of the time. They just started offering sweet potato tots and while I love pretty much anything sweet potato, I prefer the regular tots with my meal. Drink wise, there is a huge variety of slushies, limeades, shakes, and regular soda. Since you can mix flavor combinations there are endless possibilities. This is a place to try if you're looking for something that's quick with a variety of food offerings and isn't that expensive.

Another one of those one time place. One time means you can be here only one time and they avoid this place for the rest of your life. Truth be told that when were here, I am not satisfied. Food is a mess, how can they serve this kind of food while the customers are paying right? We deserve a better food.

Ugh. The food here is the kind of swill I wouldn't even feed to my dog. Highly processed garbage that most likely comes from a bag. I even think they may fry glasses of water here. Getting past the piss poor excuse for food, the main attraction here would be there slushes or freezes which are icy, sugary concoctions that I really only find myself drinking if I feel like I am melting and need something freezing cold, now! Other than that, I could easily pass by this joint and go get a smoothie or a drink with ice in it elsewhere. Crappy stuff here folks..

Gross don't waste your time or money We ordered $30 worth of food and everything was greasy, cold and flavorless.

Shocklingly nice fast food restaurant. Very clean lines decor. Staff is crazy nice, especially N'Lisha (sp?). Got us everything we asked for and always had a smile. Hope her bosses are recognizing here. Then a darn good burger and a delicious coconut cream pie shake (yeah, today was a 'cheat day')...yeah, right. Recommend!!

  • Shannon H.

Not the best food but if your drunk and no where else is open then hey lol. Food is really greasy and also the onion rings are sweet like they use the same oil that they fry there desserts in .

  • Les R.

The absolute worst...this is my second try...once after it had just opened...and today, probably two years later? The pretzel bread was not only too thick, it was stale...the bacon (if you'd call it that) was broken into pieces and laid atop the hot dog...the cheese sauce was minimal...the "Handmade" onion rings couldn't possibly be...they were small, tough and the breaking was flavorless...I ordered at the car hop kiosk, which turned out to be the only good thing here...order was correct and came out quickly...I kind of wished they had taken their time to make the food better! My last time...I yearn for the Stewart's or A&W drive in restaurants of my youth...this is not it!!!

I'm already a huge Sonic fan but this location is especially nice. Its on my way to school and I was so excited to find it since there are no Sonics in my area. The employees here are extremely friendly, I forget I'm in a fast food place. The food is always fresh. I've been here a few times and I have a great experience every time. Keep it up guys!

    (5)
  • Kristen L.

Most sonics I've been to are great. This sonic is the worst. They close the car hop early so everyone has to go to the drive thru. The drive thru is SO slow it's not at all uncommon for the line to wrap around the building and spill in to the street. At least they have hot food.

  • Miguel P.

Really good, I'm impressed for this fast food chain. Unlike other places, this restaurant was not under employed. They had plenty of workers that were all very friendly. The food was not superb, which is why I don't give it five stars. Tasted a little better than McDonalds but the service truly sold me. Very attentive, personal customer service. I truly hope it doesn't change.

  • Harry S.

This location has 2 location names here on yelp and they should be merged so I am posting my review here too ... Finally a Sonics near where I live but not totally impressed as of yet I am not sure if they just need to settle into their new location or what, but as of now they have a few issues they need to work out such as they have a friendly greeter as you walk in and she tells you that you can order at the bar or walk to your right to the cashier and place your order with them and then find a table. When you look around there are no menus accept a little threefold brochure taped to the cash register. Why not have that friendly greeter hand the customers a menu as they walk in since they forgot to install a sign on one of your walls or even better yet use one of e five flat screen T.V.s as a digital menu. After you place your order and sit down you are to listen as one of the servers skates around and screams your name over the music and all the people talking in the small confines of the dining area. I for the life of me can't figure out why would you have a half dozen servers on roller skates with trays of food in a very tight areas with lots of people and tables placed quite close to each other? As for the food I had a Chicago style hot dog which was pretty good a pc they use the wrong type of relish but if your not from the Windy City you probably won't even notice. I also ordered a burger and it was cold, if the cheese doesn't even come close to starting to melt in a wrapped burger it simply means it was put together while it was already cold. At least I can say the entire staff is friendly and asks you if there is anything else they can get for you more then once. On a good note order the peach cream slush it is the most bestest ! I guess I will give them a second try in a few weeks and see if they ironed out all the wrinkles.

I hate you guys. Why do you have to make your milk shakes so thick? They're so hard to drink and you can't enjoy them with your meal. I got a pretty good neck workout trying to suck it. I decided to get a hot dog this time to mix it up from the boring ass burgers. The hot dogs are tiny and really not that great. The only hot dogs worth getting were the cheesy bread dogs but they don't have those on the menu anymore. The quality of the food is equivalent to school cafeteria food especially the tater tots. I was half expecting Napoleon Dynamite to come out and put them in his pocket. I used to like going to Sonic when I was on a road trip to the middle of Florida but it seems now that they have sonics down here in south Florida the quality also went down.

  • Anastasia M.

Love the price and the food if you know what you're ordering. I love their mini shakes which are the perfect size and the perfect price. Also, I loved the hot dogs-all of the offerings were delicious and considering the price, they were a steal Not so great, the chicken tenders. There was a weird taste to it. Maybe I just got it on a bad day, but I wasn't crazy about them. I'll add as I continue to try their food.

I'm very impressed with the degree of proficiency in this business since it's only been open for a week. It's nice to have a Sonic with indoor and outdoor seating. The indoors can be opened up during the summer, which is even better. One glitch was the lack of menus, the only one was at the counter where you order. They later started handing them out to people coming in the door. Even with people having to stand at the counter and decide what they wanted, it moved really fast. The place was packed, inside and out, so we expected to be waiting for a while. I don't think it took more than 5 min. for our order to come skating out to our table. Then comes the accuracy test. All of the fast food outlets in our area perpetually fail this test. These people have it together. 8 items ordered, 8 of the correct items received in the proper state of either hot or cold. I decided to try something new - the Island Fire burger. It wasn't on the printed menu, we saw it on the website. When I asked, the said that they have all the items on the regular menu, plus wine and beer. The burger was good! Two beef patties, bacon, pepper jack cheese and BBQ sauce. The meat was hot and juicy. The cheese added just the right kick and the sauce gave a hint of sweetness. It all worked. The only food issue was that both order of tater tots were about half crumbled. They also offer beer and wine at this location, but you can only order them if you're eating indoors. I guess that way, you won't be driving off with an open container. A responsible decision on their part. They do need to correct the hours on their Yelp page. It says that they close at 5:00 and they're actually open til 10. Overall, it was a surprisingly good experience and we'll definitely be going back.

I was happy that they were open on a holiday but that happiness was ruined when I actually got my food. Our burgers were ice cold, not sitting out and not hot anymore cold but as if they had just come out of a refrigerator cold. My tots were undercooked and our onion rings were also undercooked. Terrible waste of money. The staff was completely lazy and careless and took zero pride in their work.

After reading that this Sonic was having new restaurant problems, I waited. So I came to have lunch with my son and was underwhelmed. I wanted a corn dog...they had none, so I ordered a chicago dog and it was cold. My son reported his double burger was just ok. I am sad, as I like a good Sonic. This unit seems to lack a soul.

  • Ava D.

Location is all wrong for a Sonic due to lack of parking & they're jammed up next to Chick-Fil-a. The beach theme is all wrong for the neighborhood. Best thing on their menu so far are drinks such as slushies, limeades & deserts. I ordered the super sonic cheeseburger and it was cold although place was packed which I didn't notice until after I left and didn't want to return due to lines. I expected a nice hot juicy burger like I get from most Sonics I've visited but there goes my expectations. I also had a cranberry lime slush and that was quite refreshing as well as my sisters cherry limeade. The Oreo sonic blast we had for desert was delish. Overall I would visit again after the newness of it has worn off too see if food got better but right now it's 3 stars because of slush and blast desert.
