I finally made a pit stop at this place on my way through the South end of the city after hearing people rave about the cool new "chicken place" in Lakeland. It definitely has the feel of being the Panera Bread of chicken joints. Nice, spacious, and open concept dining room, tons of natural light entering the restaurant from the store-front glass at the perimeter of the dining room. The restaurant is exceptionally clean, tons of seating, and has the latest/greatest soda fountain. There is a rather unique and rarely seen prison-style hand washing station in the restaurant which is foot pedal activated with Yardley English Lavender soap. It is a nice touch not to have to go into the bathroom to wash your hands. PDQ definitely gets 5 stars for cleanliness and amenities. I ordered the chicken caesar salad and was shocked at how fast it came up. So there are the positives. The negatives are really what take the ratings down. I don't know what in the world they're passing off as caesar dressing, but the goop that was on my salad was so salty that it was almost inedible. I pulled off the croutons because they looked as if they were fried to a burnt crisp. The salad portion was tiny, especially for the price I paid. For another $1, I could have gone to Crispers and gotten a pile of chicken caesar salad. The chicken they used was in no way chicken tenders - it was gristly, had a very odd texture, and like the salad itself, a very small portion. The food was so salty that I had to make four trips to the water fountain just to refill my glass. I may try PDQ again just to try the chicken tenders, but I will not be going back anytime soon and I certainly will not be going back for the salad.

The service was wonderful, and the restaurant is beautiful. The food however is really terrible. My children ordered the chicken strip meal with fries and a Yahoo. The chicken is dry and according to my five year old "yucky".. The fries were a greasy clumpy mess that tasted terrible. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich, and the buffalo sauce was so salty that it was not edible. I also got a big clump of greasy fries. We really wished the food was good as the employees attitudes, which was WONDERFUL. The food was so bad, that there is no way we will go back.

The place is nice enough- lots of natural light, bright and clean, and pleasant staff but the food has been hit and miss. The crispy chicken sandwich was over cooked and had too much flour- took two bites before I got to any chicken. One time the fries were much too salty. Another time the chicken tenders were too salty. But on another visit the fries and tenders were perfect. I'm not sure if I want to come back just to see if they hit the mark.

Service was very good, and the restaurant is exceptionally clean. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Salad, and it was quite good. Though I felt it was missing something. I felt hungry when I finished eating the salad, more so than other large salads I have had elsewhere. The Blueberry salad dressing was much thicker, than I am used to. In fact I have never been served such thick dressing. All in all it is a good restaurant for someone looking for a menu, with at least some healthy choices on it. Something that can be next to impossible to find in the Southern USA. Which is very sad, and another story

First time here, very clean and large dining area and fast service, my sandwich came out nice and hot and was very tasty as were the fries, but I still think chick Fil a has better chicken. Easy seating with a high chair as well and very friendly staff.

They have the absolute best ranch dressing for their salads that I believe I have ever tasted. The chicken nuggets are pretty good, they are rather greasy at times but full of flavor. I think a few extra minutes in the fryer would probably help. The french fries are truly hit or miss. Sometimes they are just god awful and are super greasy with no flavor or they are crispy, fried to perfection and salted just perfectly. The grilled chicken sandwich is amazing. It blows Chick-fil-A out of the water. Hands-down. The milkshakes are absolutely amazing. Total ecstasy for your mouth. The Oreo milkshake is the best! And of course the blueberry coleslaw. How could I forget about that? Always crispy, very flavorful and a excellent substitute for the most of the time soggy french fries. They use Joffreys tea. They have the best sweet tea in town. Somebody here actually knows how to make it right! Perfectly sweetened and you can still taste the tea without being overpowered by sugar. Most places make sweet tea that all you can taste is the sugar and not the team. Their tea is absolute perfection. Five stars because most all of the food is excellent except for the fries -- coleslaw makes up for that as well as the milkshakes

I'm pretty shocked that this place doesn't have close to a 5 star rating. The service is crazy fast The restaurant is clean and bright, lots of natural light The kitchen is wide open so you can see everything There's a hand washing station in the corner of the dining room Bathrooms are very clean And the food is amazing! The chicken tenders are well seasoned and the homemade dipping sauces are on point! I usually pair my strips with the Buffalo Bleu sauce, my husband prefers the sweet & spicy sauce. The fries are shoestring cut and you can tell that they're just potatoes + salt, no additives. Anyways, I love this place and it's perfect for family lunch/dinner time!

PDQ- PLEASE Dont question the AMAZINGNESS of this joint. Went here for a quick meal as I heard some amazing things about their tenders- and BOY were they right! A lot of places like to used processed chicken and that is not the case here- full tenders that are moist and the batter is crunchy and has its own distinct flavor that makes it PDQ, Now, their Creamy Garlic sauce HITS THE SPOT. If you are a garlic fan- it makes their chicken to a whole new level- Their coleslaw has plump blueberries that make the traditional side something different and "tropical" - great for a Florida day! Side note: Their hand washing station is a cool feature that makes you avoid having to go to the bathroom just for that. The only reason I give a star down is I wish the prices were SLIGHLTLY lower- and I would be their much more often.

I have been to this PDQ 3 times, and every time the good is great, service is great, and the place is clean! People will naturally compare it to Chickfila and Zaxbys, but I think PDQ is better. I like the shoestring fries much better than CFA waffle fries, and the PDQ dipping sauces are great. The chipotle one is my favorite.

I thought the food was great! Better chicken than Chic-fil-a, but I think Chic-fil-a has better fries. Will be back again!

Edited: After some months I have visited again and again! I have tried the crispy chicken sandwich and love it. I still have to stand with this dirt like after taste in either the chicken or seasoning. I don't know what it is but I notice it more on the grilled chicken sandwich. Other than that, I love PDQ's customer service and crunchiness/freshness of the veggies on the sandwiches. The creamy garlic sauce is also a must for fries, tenders, or even sandwiches! The fries have definitely improved. They are SO good when straight out of the fryer but yes, they do get soggy a little too quickly and I can never finish them before so. The blueberry coleslaw isn't my kind of thing. It's kind of tangy and I prefer sweet. I will be coming back all the time. They have grown on me and I look forward to trying other items on the menu.

I will start off by saying the customer service here cannot be beat! The manager greeted me as I pulled in and every one was very nice. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich without the bun and the order taker advised me of their carb-friendly grilled chicken lettuce wrap (which I don't think was listed on the menu) but basically it was a head of iceberg cut in half with the chicken in the middle. It was more of a lettuce bun instead of lettuce wrap. Either way, it was very messy and the honey mustard was so watered down that it was running down my hands. I would not order it again. I might go back one day and try something different but won't go out of my way to do so.

GREAT service and food. We have been here twice and will be back. The first time I ordered chicken tenders, very good. Recently I ordered grilled chicken salad, think I will ask for the dressing on the side the next time! Keep up the good work!

Wow. Just Wow. I like many others have driven past this location curious as to what was going in & then curious as to what "PDQ" really was. Is it like Zaxby's? Maybe a new twist on Chick-fil-a? Is it like Publix Deli Chicken? Well the answer to all of those questions is a resounding NO! PDQ is unlike any quick service restaurant I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. I had the pleasure of taking their "Fresh Tour" with General Manager Jeremy & Catering Director Dale. After explaining a bit about the background of the brand (The founder of Outback is involved) and a bit more about their philosophy (PDQ stands for People Dedicated to Quality), they took us on a tour of their entire back of the house. Their dedication to Quality and Fresh Food Fast standard was reflected in everything that they do. From cutting fries fresh to not having a freezer in the restaurant (how many fast food joints can boast that), their core values are present and well exercised. Coming from a background in restaurant management myself, it's easy for me to find fault from either and ingredient or operations point of view, and while Jeremy was very up front that they are "still learning", I couldn't find anything wrong with what they were doing, or how they were setup. The restaurant flows well, the stations in the 'heart of the house' as they call it are well thought out and their staff is top notch. After our tour we were able to get down to what counts most, while a good clean kitchen and great company vision are important, the food is what's going to make or break an establishment, and let me tell you PDQ knocks that out of the park! Their Tenders are amazing, the house made sauces are perfection. The apple slices with toffee dipping sauce were a delightful surprise at a "fried chicken joint", as were their hand spun milkshakes. To sum it up, you owe it to yourself to go by PDQ, sit down with the family (be prepared to have your food ready before you choose a table), and enjoy a delicious meal. This is definitely turned into the best chicken place in town and their food, along with their attention to quality and friendly atmosphere have earned my loyalty and my lunch dollars. Go try PDQ & go do it now, every day you wait is another day you could have been eating there!

Chicken fingers were probably the best I have had. Blueberry coleslaw was real good too.

I ordered the grilled chicken salad, chicken was good but I felt like the salad was missing something. The blueberry dressing is very thick and I found it to be tart. Everyone was super friendly and the drive thru service was really fast. I would try this place again but I would try something different.

The restaurant is extremely clean. The chicken tenders are your traditional hand-breaded chicken tenders. They're good, but nothing special. The fries are freshly cut. Once again, they're good, but nothing special. You are able to choose from a variety of sauces to dip your chicken. A sauce bar, like Tijuana Flats, would allow customers to sample the sauces and determine which one they'd like to have. Otherwise, you're blindly choosing what you think you might like. The food was good, but it's no different than Zaxby's chicken with "skinnier" fries from Five Guys.

I had a mediocre experience with a PDQ in Tampa so was not jumping to try this place again. Perhaps that was a bad decision. I joined a large party of 20 at this PDQ and was amazed how quickly all of us were served, from order-taking to order-up. I got the chicken tenders meal with coleslaw and drink for $7.29. The tenders were excellent (could've eaten more than 3!). I chose chipotle BBQ sauce and sweet heat sauce. Both were great but the chipotle was more of a cream sauce with an excellent flavor. Sweet heat was more of a horseradish kick. The coleslaw is good but the blueberries were tasteless and unnecessary (I think a weird combo). Had fun with the modern touch button soda machine (though there was some waste due to my not understanding how to work it). Friends enjoyed the big salads, another got a sandwich that she enjoyed. They had kids on the front sidewalk with chalk and others playing a beanbag game on the side sidewalk. Not sure if that is always an option for kids. The din in the place was a little much for me. A decent eating place if you like chicken. Oct 2014 revisit. Rating still stands. loved the grilled chicken salad (tho the purple color of the blueberry vinaigrette is offputting, still tasted great.) Not fond of their milkshake--too creamy thick with no "ice creamy" feel, hard to describe. Friendly staff working at being QUICK. I agree the tenders are "skinny" but they're real, not pressed, and very moist.

Customer service was outstanding but the food was not so good. Chicken Tenders were small and very greasy as were the fries. Everyone likes different things and its not for me.

If all you do is chicken tenders then you better blow me away. Pdq did not. Tenders were small, over breaded and overcooked. Dry and lukewarm. Fries were greasy and salty. My wife enjoyed he blueberry coleslaw very much but I don't like coleslaw so I can't comment. I wish a manager had come and spoken to us but no one did. I won't be back.

This place is like Chick-fil-a but good. Delicious sauces. Chicken tastes fresh and not as processed as chick-fil-a. Fries are the best in town.

I live in Pinellas County, and do not have a PDQ near me, so when I was visiting in Lakeland, I had to try this place. I had the chicken tenders, and found them to be wonderful. They were super tender, and not greasy or salty. The fries were good, and they had a great variety of drinks. The place was spotless, and the service was the best I have experienced in any fast food restaurant.

Loved it. Restaurant was clean and the food came out super quick. They were packed when we went but we still found a table and still got our food fast. I wasn't a huge fan of their sauces but their chicken fingers are so good you might not need any. Their chicken tastes fresh and not processed and their little hand cut fries are good. There was a lady going around giving out what looked like parfait samples to everyone but we left before she got over to our side. The staff, from what I could see, were all working hard either cooking, taking orders, or cleaning the restaurant. They were always around wiping tables and sweeping as soon as someone left. Good stuff. Will definitely be back.
