If you like Mexican food you'll love this place. The atmosphere is very authentic and their queso is delicious. If you get the Two person Majhete it's A LOT of food. The meat is tender and you'll get full fast.

I stopped in with my family while on vacation. I enjoyed the clean and festive atmosphere. They offered kids menus for the children with word searches and games to pass the time while waiting for our meal. We ordered fajitas for two and were pleased. I appreciated being asked if we preferred corn or flour tortillas. We enjoyed the fresh corn tortillas and the way our steak was seasoned. Our server, Brenda, was friendly and took good care of us. If we are in the area we will repeat!

The food is authentic. The prices are very reasonable but most importantly it's good food. The fajitas are a very generous portion size with chicken, steak and shrimp. But honestly everything is good here. We come here every time we go to Kissimmee on vacation.

I got the Burrito supreme and my husband got the fajitas. Oh goodness, it was THE BEST FOOD WE'VE HAD IN A LONG TIME!!! We are on vacation, like many other people in Kissimmee haha. I'm originally from California and I don't even think California mexican food is this good! I will be back during our vacation lol

The real deal Mexican in Kissimmee. The Queso Fundido is to freakin' die for but the customer service from Wendy and especially Oscar was outstanding. If you want great drinks, great food and great service then get your ass to El Tapatio!

Tried this place based on Yelpers' reviews for first time for dinner. Roomy restaurant (hate getting elbowed in tiny spaces), nicely decorated and not over the top; authentic old school Mexican music in background (don't have to yell to be heard like so many others). Ambiance perfect. Server attentive and friendly, not overbearing. Liked that too. Great selection of aguas frescas drinks and have bar service for those awkward date nights. Husband had vegetarian fajitas (they have corn or flour tortillas), huge serving for $8.99. He was happy. I had Dos Amigos, one chicken enchilada and one chicken burrito buried under a mound of shredded lettuce and sour cream and two tomato slices as garnish, no side dishes, $9.99. Too bland for my taste. Next time, I'll try something more exotic.

The food was amazing!!! We got fajitas, nachos, cheese dip and guacamole. The refried beans were the best I have ever had. Everything tasted homemade. The Aguas frescas were also super tasty. Best was the 2$ margaritas with a fajita dinner every Thursday. This place is a must for a Mexican food hankering.

It's been hard finding a good Mexican restaurant in Orlando. This place tops my list of Great Mexican food in Orlando. Freshly made tortilla chips and salsa with every order. For dinner, I ordered a beef chimichanga smothered with Queso cheese with rice and beans with a side of guacamole. The queso tasted homemade. The guacamole was really good too. I'll have to order as an appetizer the next time I'm there. I got my order to go and was prepared quickly and the server was really friendly. I look forward to going back and trying the nachos.

I must confess- I found this place on yelp and came for the Mojarra. I was craving it badly. However, when my husband and I arrived- we got distracted with all of the tempting and delicious options. We started with the sampler- which hit the spot as we had not teen yet that day and been traveling for a few hours, and the reason why the mojarra went lost was because we found Molcajete Tarasco on the menu! If you have never had this dish before- you ABSOLUTELY have to try it. Keep in mind that the portions for this are huge, and since we were out riding on our motorcycles that day, we ordered the single person portion and the two of us still could not finish the dish. So- what is a molcajete? It is like a stone bowl- usually made out of lava rock- and the dish is served in one of these- usually boiling hot. The molcajete is filled with chicken, shrimp, steak and chorizo and then has grilled vegetables in it like onions and cactus. The dish is served with tortillas, rice and beans and the sauce that the meats and vegetables cook in is out of this world. While I am disappointed I forgot about the mojarra, I will be ok for now as we will be returning to the area again soon and will be making a point of coming in so I can have my fish! P.S.- the staff was wonderful, the restaurant was bright and cheery and the service was great too!

Went here for lunch on Sunday with my parents because it is their favorite restaurant and I can see why! This is a cute little Mexican restaurant with great service and delicious food. There was a mariachi band playing and going table to table asking for song requests. I ordered the three taco meal (Tapatio Tacos) with lengua, carnitas and al pastor. My favorite was the lengua. The carnitas was excellent and I didn't really care for the al pastor. The tacos come topped with onion and cilantro on soft corn tortillas. My meal also came with a generous serving of refried beans and yellow rice which I really enjoyed. My husband ordered the torta with carnitas and of course he shared some with me! That is the best torta I have ever had. Really good! Had lots of avocado, meat and the bread was soft and delicious. My parents ordered their usual chicken dishes. My dad the quesadilla and my mom the Tapatio chicken. I didn't try any of their dishes but they both looked good and they enjoyed their meals. Overall, this is a great place.

This is one of Orlando's best kept secrets. I ate here over a year ago when it was called Garabaldis. The foods has flavor, seasoning, and the taste is incredible. Our waitress Victoria was very helpful, he recommended several dishes to in the cantaloupe melon drink that is a must try. I had the Cancun Salad with shrimp. The shrimp seasoning was enough to add the zest to the Salad. My date had the deep fried Tilapia with rice, salad, mixed vegetables that complimented the fish that had a seasoned sauce similar to bar-B-que-sauce. When I'm in town this place out sells any franchise restaurant on I-drive hands down.

Nothing great. Mediocre food. Traveled 30,minutes to get here and so not worth it. I speak Spanish and am Mexican and they still got my order wrong!!?

Just finished dinner just now and was very impressed with the food quality and service. Our server (didn't get her name and not wearing a name tag) was attentive and took time to explain and address our inquiries including a sample taste test for somebody with spice allergy. My mojarra (tilapia) came in fresh and sizzling and I asked for hot sauce and was given a choice and opted for the house made fiery salsa over a bottled tapatio. My wife's carne asada tacos were okay, but not juicy / sizzling excellent. The rest of the family enjoyed their food from the light, warm, and crispy chips n salsa, to the flan, cake, and fried ice cream. Only reason why not 5 stars was because the horchata lacked the grainy cinnamon and the carne asada tacos missed the sizzle like I'm used to at home in the mission (San Francisco, Los Angeles, y San Diego) Otherwise, it's all "muy bueno!" We have five more days in town and might visit once more before going home.

This was the worst experience of my life !!!!! Don't go here !!!!!! I never ever ever get upset about anything, but the people here are lazy, the food has been cold the last 2 times and only times I went, they screwed the order up both times and then said they would give us 50 percent off the bill and then at the end said they only agreed to 15 percent ! Then the women who owns this place stood up and cussed me and my wife out while my kids stood there crying there eyes out ! These people are blood sucking money hungry trashy unprofessional people ! The women who owns it acts like she is so much better then every one else and then didn't even apologize to my kids after I asked her kindly ! So if your ok with giving your money to a piece of shit like that go for it !!!!! But my kids come first and I'll be damned if I support someone who don't even have the decency to say I am sorry !!!!

Great Mexican food!!! The restaurant itself is in a weird location however once you taste the food you forget that you're in a restaurant/grocery store/ice cream parlor. Huge portions, big taste

Super fresh! Ordered a salad with grilled chicken and avocado. Absolutely delicious, clean and healthy. Steak fajitas were also the bomb. The servers are super friendly. Will be back.

Just a nice dinner. Ambiance was nice and authentic. Food was delicious. They don't skimp on ingredients and was stuffed when we left. Fried ice cream dessert was amazing and was great for sharing. Great selection of Mexican beer. Our server was kind and caring. We will definitely keep this at the top of our list for our Mexican dining options!

Had a great meal visiting with family. Generous portions, fresh ingredients and friendly service. The shrimp in garlic sauce were huge and perfectly cooked, enchiladas with carnitas in red sauce very flavourful, dessert churro freshly made and tasty. Highly recommended if you are looking for good authentic Mexican food in the neighbourhood.

Very good authentic Mexican restaurant. My taco, burrito, and enchilada were good. The rice and refried beans were equally tasty. The salsa and chips were a little disappointing as the salsa was too sweet and the chips were a little stale.

We regularly have gotten into the habit of using yelp and we have not been disappointed yet. We were in town for a soccer tournament and we had a party of 22, yes 22. When i called the friendly staff just said to come over that our table would be waiting for us. Within 20 minutes we showed up and they had our tables ready to go. after being in the heat all morning we ordered the Pitcher of House margarita and plenty of fresh chips and salsa to go around and we were not disappointed. I grew up in California and i can tell you the food is really authentic. Shared the fajita for one person and we still had food leftover on the skillet. the waitresses were all friendly and experienced explaining the menu and food to the rest of the guest which were not used to mexican food. After dinner we were surprised by Oscar the manager with a round of House tequila shots which everyone loved, it was very very smooth. BTW i almost forgot to mention that they have a musician playing the guitar, it was kool! Thank you oscar and your staff for a wonderful experience, we will see you back in september when we go back to Orlando!!!!!!!!!

Let me start off by saying I'm a Chicago native, which means great Mexican food on almost every block but once I moved to Orlando finding good Mexican food was close to impossible, until I found this place. The food here is sooooo good. The meat is well seasoned and tender and the rice and beans where delicious. I will come to this place over and over again, even though I live almost 40 minutes away.

Formerly known as Garibaldi. El Tapatio has come in and represented the Mexican restaurants well here. Different items on the menu. The place looks bigger and it's much cleaner than before. Under new management now. It's a whole different look and feel. Great food. Come hungry because even the appetizer portions are huge.

Where do I begin? It was a hot Saturday, after a baseball tournament that we decided to fuel up on Mexican food. I saw the reviews and thought I would give it a try. And I was not disappointed! The service was good and that's saying a lot considering we had been in the heat for 3 hours before and needed hydration! She kept our glasses full. I had the beef chimichanga with the beans and rice and they were some of the best I've had and I've been to a lot of Mexican food places! My hubby had the enchilada platter with two cheese and two beef with the verde sauce. It had a nice bite of heat to it. My son had a combo plate of taco, enchilada and burrito with rice and beans and it all disappeared in moments. I, of course have my usual to-go box for a later snack! The chips were fresh and warm and the sauce was definitely home made. We had guacamole and cheese dip too that were equally as awesome. So if you want some good Mexican food, try here!

  • Erin G.

The food was very average. The salsa was very bland and lacked flavor. The margaritas were HORRIBLE! No tequila and the frozen drinks were melted. Will not be back.

Had appetizer for lunch order guacamole and that's just what I got a large scoop of guacamole no lettuce or anything else so then I tryed the tostada it was very good a little pricey for lunch but still under $10.

Excellent food. Great service. And the atmosphere is perfect. I'm originally from Mexico. I lived in Milwaukee for 22 years and recently moved to the Orlando area. We've been looking for authentic Mexican but there just aren't many places at all. El Tapatío was a pleasant surprise. Authentic, delicious food and authentic decorations. From the table and chairs to the paintings. Over all, great place.

We were very pleased with this place, starting with the hostess. She was telling us of all the good dishes, as we were originally going to do takeout. She convinced us to stay for dinner instead. Our waiter was great. Very helpful in helping me understand the dishes from the menu. I had the veggie quesadilla and it was fantastic. Hubby had 3 chicken tacos and really enjoyed it. We may even go back on Friday for dinner and to see the "Live" Marachi band.

Came here to check it out. It was a Friday night around 7pm. It was kind of dead maybe 3 more tables aside from us. The mariachi band had just gotten there played very good music.. They also came to our table and asked if we wanted them to sing any songs for us. They played 2 songs with a little dance and everything. I loved them! Got a sangria good but not the best. Ordered an arrachera good but they could of hold a little on the salt..maybe more than a little. The chilaquiles where tasty. Green chilaquiles de asada. Kids menu the taco wasn't really Mexican (at least not authentic) it was served on a FLOUR tortilla not corn..wth???? Oh and with lettuce and tomato..uhmm no that's a NO No. Fried ice cream was good but tried better..I will come back just to see the mariachis. There frescas selection wasn't big just 2 flavors.

This is the best mexican restaurant in central florida, food and desserts are really good, I love molcajete tarasco it's a lava rock it comes with steak, shrimp, chicken, chorizo, onions, bell pepper and melted cheese, sides of rice beans and bandera salad. Price for 1 it's only $16.99 dollars reasonable because it's a exotic dish, Place is clean and all service it's great, I highly recommend it!!!

IF YOU dont speak spanish you might have a hard time here with the female waitress. The food was fresh and served hot. But, I didn't think the spices were that great-I felt it all tasted the same.

Probably the best Mexican I have had since moving to Kissimmee. The food was fresh and served hot. It's more of a local establishment since it is further away from the touristy area of 192. I'll go back for sure.

It was ok, yes just ok nothing great it was eatable .will I go back I would say no. First order the volcano price was 15.99 when the bill came it was 16.99 and said the price went up but yet on the menu it was 15.99 asked for corn tort, got flour the sever didn't speak English so she had a hard time understanding what we wanted. To be honest I would just go back to the one down the street.

Bruh, this place is the bomb.com . I had the Arrachera (skirt steak) and it was tender, juicy and simply delicious. It's served with Mexican rice (yellow rice with corn), refried beans, and bandera (pico de gallo, sour cream, and guacamole). The meat comes with cooked jalapeño and onion on top and your choice of corn or flour tortillas. Ask for Bianca, she was super attentive, nice, and courteous. The restaurant itself has a cozy theme going on and it's also super clean. They also have a full bar and great deals on drinks.

  • Kady W.

Pros: Chips & Salsa, agua fresca, and the hilarious mariachi band. Cons: Smelly menus and pricing. The dishes are priced $1-3 more compared to other local Mexican restaurants. I ordered the taco dinner and picked out the lengua, pastor, and asada. The asada had the most flavor while the pastor had a nice surprise of actual pineapple pieces. El Tapatio is a decent option if and when you are craving Mexican in the Kissimmee area.

Very cute location with great and fast service. Zuleicka was our service and she was very attentive and nice, even explained to me what the name of the restaurant means. The food came out super fast, we were a party of 6, and was very good, kids fries could have used a bit more salt but we fixed that at the table, other food was seasoned to perfection. Restrooms very clean.

YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY IN MY TUMMY!!!! This place has white queso dip!!! Lena C introduced me to this magical dish and I am HOOKED! The restaurant is very quaint, good setup and it seems to cater to both tourists and locals alike. They offer a lot of drink specials, although I did feel that Philip's mango margarita was waaaay too sweet and not enough kick. Stick with beer. The salsa and chips were so yummy, we almost filled up on that before the food came. My red enchiladas with carnitas were on point! I didn't try Philip's chimichanga but he devoured it pretty happily and quickly, so I assume it was yummy. Who knew there are so many little Mexican joints in Kissimmee?? I will keep this place on my list of spots to go when visiting.

AUTHENTIC! Beers= great prices 2 for 1 Margaritas! Delicious food, friendly service and unlimited chips and Salsa! price- on the high end when it comes to mexican food.

First of all, this restaurant is clean, clean, clean. Beautiful Mexican themed interior and exterior. Everywhere you look (including the restrooms) is spotless. Next the waitress was friendly and helpful with selecting an entree. I was there was a party of 5, everyone ordered a different dish and loved it. We had the guacamole appetizer that was terrific. I had a chicken burrito that was a bit salty for my taste but was otherwise delicious. The topper, the entire meal was $75.00 for all of us.

I will the food here is amazing! Service lacks and was completely turned off when I asked for a little cheese on my tacos. Server told me they don't put cheese on the tacos and I had to order a side order of cheese???? Small bowl arrived to my table who cares about the extra charge I used only a pinch on each taco the rest they tossed in the garbage?!

I was pretty impressed with this Mexican restaurant. They're serving up some authentic items like Aguas frescas! Sometimes you walk into a Mexican place and ask for it and they look at you like a deer caught in the headlights, you can hear the crickets chirping in the background before they finally answer: "uh no, we don't have that." Well, they do here, only $2 or something.. it's cheap and tasty - my only critique would be that it was a tad too sweet and more than once I was tempted to water it down. Agua fresca is pretty much fruit water. They take fresh fruit and squeeze all the natural juice out of it and mix it with water, some sugar, then add chunks of the fruit so you get a slight texture of the fruit while you drink it; wonderful stuff! We were a large party, there was about 12 of us and our food was served in a timely manner, I never had to ask for a water refill, and when I asked for salsa verde, they also brought me the extra spicy sauce too (yum) I ordered 1 Gordita because it was the only thing I saw that was within reasonable portion. (everything else seemed big enough to feed 2 or 1 really hungry person) Someone else in our party ordered a mix grill dish that came in a black pilon and along with the mixed meats it had Nopales, which is cactus and let me tell you; I daydream about that cactus. It tastes like lemony green beans but they had cooked it on the grill so it also had a smokey flavor to it. I have to say, that was my favorite thing. I know... Cactus? what? but yeah, and that's a very common Mexican food item I am told, it's just another authentic food item you don't find readily in most Mexican places. The music they were playing that night was awesome! Lovely Spanish ballads from the 60's and 70's. Wish they were closer to home, I'd visit them again in a heart beat. So if you're in the Kissimmee and craving Mexican, I highly recommend El Tapatio.

Delicious food, friendly service and a authentic atmosphere! We popped in for lunch on Saturday...it was fairly busy but the service was quick. I have a burrito (Carnitas) which was really delicious. The top was smothered with yummy white queso and the pork inside was fall apart perfect! I also love the Salsa and chips they bring to your table, both are so fresh! One negative was the margarita :( no top shelf tequila and it tasted like it was one of those prepared ones, no real lime for sure!

Service is fast, friendly staff, clean, and the menu is not pricey. On Thursday nights there are margarita special for $2 . Not sure how the promotion works, but it's very relaxed. Bring your friends and family here ..... You will enjoy it

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
