I've been going to Golden China since they were on the other side of Normandy next to the old Publix when their name was China Wok which has been going on 13 years. Their food is always prepared hot and fresh and most importantly, their restaurant is ALWAYS clean! Their prices are very reasonable, and they always give you excellent proportions. Their food was so good I would often travel all the way to the west side (since I live and work on e other side of town) because they were my only favorite Chinese restaurant. I would even order 2 meals to carry me over to the next day just to satisfy my fix! Now unfortunately the bad. Back in November 2014, I started noticing a trend whenever I ordered their boneless spare ribs. There were times the ribs would be so severely undercooked that I just could not eat them and brought it to the attention of the cooks, and management which at the time, was really no big deal. I just made a habit of checking the food before I left the restaurant. Then the worse happened. About late December, I ordered the same boneless spare ribs combo with fried rice. It just so happened that I didn't get a chance to check the food because I was in a bit of a rush, when I got to work I took one bite and immediately got sick with food poisoning later that same night. I noticed that the ribs again was undercooked, but had a weird smell and had long black strands of hair. I must be a pro at getting sick because I keep a extra prescription of ampicillin in situations like this. I called the manager and informed her and she apologized profusely and begged me to bring the food back, but I was so disgusted I threw the food in the trash that day. Since then, I've notified the department of health, and I'm still hesitant, but will consider giving GC another chance in the near future hence not trashing them and giving them 3 stars.

On my never ending search for Szechwan (beef, chicken, pork, shrimp or tofu) I went here. To be honest, this place was the closest so far. Not because the dish tasted anything like Szechwan, but because it had the most flavor out of the different places I've been to. I've determined that there must be one giant water tower in the middle of the city filled with egg drop soup because every place I've been to tastes exactly the same. It's just okay. Nothing to write home about.

Been here often. I'm a huge fan of American Chinese and this is spot on. The helpings are huge which is great because I love leftovers. They have great Lomein and I highly recommend their Mei fun. They have a good selection for a vegetarian like myself. If you go to Publix on the westside of just go to that strip mall I highly recommend them for lunch dinner or take out.

Nothing special on the outside. The boneless spare ribs are superb, I have had none better anywhere. The rest is good, vegetables fresh, the rice a little dry.

I keep going back, there must be a reason. I've now tried several new items here and they continue to exceed my expectations. One of note, the Bourbon Chicken Lo Mein. Sliced chicken cooked in saucy, slightly spicy gravy and served with lo mein noodles and light veggies and an egg roll, $6.95. Plenty of food, excellent taste and tenderness but above all, excellent customer service. They have a busy take out service but when you eat in, Karen will always step out from behind the counter to make sure everything tastes good and see that everyone is satisfied. They are doing everything right to survive in this economic downturn in a sea of Chinese Restaurant gluttony

Pretty cool Chinese food. I've had the honey chicken and bourbon chicken. The pork fried rice is awesome. Pretty quick service. The also have Orange Fanta, you can't beat that.

Really good veggie fried rice!! Great location. The portions aren't that great, but it's still worth the 8 bucks!

Good place close by for quick Chinese. However disappointed with Shrimp and Mushroom lunch special only had 2 shrimp in it.

The food is okay. The egg rolls are good (despite the burnt spot on mine). The noodle dishes come with rice (instead of full noodles, which they charge extra for), so it's a carb overload. Overall, though the combo is cheap, get anything without noodles for optimal health. I am not coming back here. For a health equivalent but with more options and flavor, whataburger across the parking lot is better.

This place is great! We've been to many Chinese food places in the area and none top this one. Everything on the menu is great. The staff is nice and the place is clean. I highly recommend Golden China.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
