Been here many times and the sushi is always fresh! The staff is very friendly and we never have to wait for anything. We always have sushi with clear soup and tempura to start. The dynamite roll is a must! We usually have a Philadelphia roll (cream cheese, yes!) and a veggie roll of some type...the avocado roll is a favorite. No matter what you order, it's served with a smile...and if you're there for dinner you'll get a pineapple boat from the chef!

Staffs are all really nice and attentive. The atmosphere is semi modern. I love the variety of this place. It not just sushi. They have bento boxes. All source of salads and they have udon noodles. The seafood was pretty fresh. Waiting time wasn't to bad either. However , we came at a good time . While we were in the middle of our dinner people were coming in nonstop. This place is the spot! Wish it was a little bit bigger. Overall, I recommend the sashimi or any raw sushi combo. Every fresh. The udon portions are big a while. It's definitely worth a try!

The only thing I love more then sushi is GOOD sushi. And thats why I keep coming back to fuji sushi. I have both eaten here, and ordered take out and its consistently yummy. My two favorite rolls are the Dynamite roll and the spicy shrimp tempura roll. I ventured off once and ordered their fried rice which I wasn't a fan of, the vegetable tempura and the sauce that comes along with it is a thumbs up and their yaki soba is bomb! The inside of Fuji Sushi is cozy, the employees are kind and attentive, the food is good and its close so I I'm a fan.

Greatest Japanese food in the city. Modern set up inside. Well put together restaurant. Staff was very friendly. I got the Dynamite and Philly roll. My boyfriend got the chicken teriyaki. Came out on a skillet. Everything was fresh, hot and tested great. 10 out of 10 stars. Will be returning frequently.

From the outside it doesn't look like much but once you open the door it's a well put together restaurant. The sushi was delicious and made right in front of me. Good staff and all around good experience.

By far the best sushi in jacksonville! I have been coming back here for the last six years and I have not been able to find a better sushi place.

I was in Jacksonville on business and went to Fuji Sushi based on Yelp reviews and am so happy I did! I actually ate dinner there for the 2 nights I was in Jax and will definitely go back next time I am in town. It has a very clean, welcoming and intimate atmosphere. And then of course the sushi is delicious! The service is top notch, too. A must if you like sushi!

I LOVE Fuji. Every time I go I have a great experience. The owners are very friendly, Celine and Don and they always take time to say hi or make the environment as nice as possible. The sushi is awesome and there is never too long of a wait. Lunch special (Mon-Friday 11-3:30) is a great deal; soup and 2 rolls for 7.99! Expensive for dinner but definitely worth it.

Great authentic sushi that isn't crazy expensive. It is our go-to place for local sushi.

A very small intimate restaurant that serves excellent Japanese Steakhouse cuisine. My wife and I ate here today and decided to make this a regular "go to lunch" place for us. The food was very good and the service was excellent.

My wife and I wanted to try a new sushi place since we both love sushi. We decided to go to Fuji Sushi for lunch after reading the mixed reviews on here, and we were disappointed. The place was fairly busy when we first walked in, which I thought was a good sign. It was a fairly small sushi restaurant, but it was comfortable. We ordered the lunch special "Any Two Rolls for $7.99" (California roll and crazy roll), American Dream Roll ($8.50), and the lunch Steak Hibachi ($8.95). The sushi lunch and hibachi each comes with a soup or a salad. The taste of the sushi and the hibachi were mediocre at best; it was definitely not something I'd write home about. The sushi rice was a bit too soft; the steak was a bit too salty; the fried rice was meh. I had to drench everything in shrimp sauce to make them taste better. I've definitely had better tasting sushi and hibachi in Jacksonville. The presentation of the sushi was not impressive. Actually, one of our sushi rolls (American Dream Roll, see pic) were arranged in the shape of a penis. The hibachi did not look or smell very appetizing either. The real disappointing part was the portion sizes. The fried rice came in an extra small bowl, and there was a lot less steak than I expected. The sushi portion felt even smaller. The only roll that came with six pieces was the California Roll! The other two rolls only had five pieces! So the two of us had to share an odd number of sushi pieces. I felt really cheated after eating here. I will not come back here again.

Amazing service, great food! I love their lunch specials and I love getting takeout from them. They have so many great opinions on their menu, it's always worth trying something new. I have yet to find something on the menu I dislike.

Not note worthy but not horrible either. Good rice, good miso. Sushi chef was good but not really good enough for a night out. Most notable was the amazing service. Great wait staff made all the difference! Location is ideal for office workers in the regency area.

Delicious sushi, beautiful presentation, reliably great service. We love this hidden gem and the cozy setting of the bamboo lined windows.

This is a little place but cute inside. The waitresses are all very pleasant and courteous. The prices are slightly higher here I think than some other sushi places, but the food is good quality. It is the closest sushi restaurant to my house so that makes me like it even more :) My boyfriend loves sushi and can eat A LOT, so we got the love boat last time and it was displayed so cute and with a good amount of food. We ate it all and the chefs choice special roll was very good. I like that it even came with eel, which you may not get in other restaurants. It took a little while longer than anticipated to get our food, but they had a full house so it was understandable. The pineapple they gave us from the chef for a little dessert was a nice gesture and very welcome!

What a great experience. The food was well prepared and the appearance spoke of loving attention to detail. Great, attentive and friendly service. All for a very reasonable price. So many sushi places in jacksonville, they all seem to run together after a while. Despite the non-descript exterior, Fufi Sushi is a real stand out. Will absolutely return.

One of the few places that offers traditional Japanese dishes. It's consistent, clean, and friendly. They're a lot of other Fuji's in Jacksonville, but this is the only one worth my money.

Came here on a whim because of Yelp reviews. The food is really good. The Florida Roll is outstanding as well as the American Dream Roll. We also had a Hawaiian roll and Spicy Tuna roll. All very fresh and delicious. We will definitely come back!

The food is great and staff exceptional. Recommend spicy salmon, volcano roll & crazy roll although you can't go wrong. In town on business looking for good sushi and found it with the added bonus of hospitality upon arrival.

Lunch specials offer a great deal ! Three sushi rolls + salad for $10.99. Decent size rolls and good service. It's a small place but always seems to have a few people in there. The location is kind of weird - it's in a strip mall type building directly across from Ross. Check it out. Good lunch spot !!

My husband and I are both huge fans of Fuji Sushi. Our favorite is the dynamite roll. YUM! The place is small and feels a bit out of place in a strip mall but it doesn't affect the meal so I'm not bothered by it. Be sure to check out the special offerings, usually written on a board by the sushi bar. My favorite roll was featured as a special once and isn't on the regular menu but I snapped a pic of the description when it was on the board and just ask for it whenever my husband and I dine there and they always happily oblige. The staff is attentive and friendly without being overly intrusive or annoying. They also give diners a beautifully presented pineapple after the meal. It is a perfect light dessert to end with. We really love it and are sad we have to search for a replacement when we move soon.

Great sushi. I am very picky about my sushi and this was the best I've had in Jacksonville. Get shrimp sauce on the side for an extra treat.

Surprisingly good sushi from a strip mall. The wife and I are big sushi fans from the west coast. Ever since we moved to JAX, we have been on the lookout for some good sushi. More often than not we have been disappointed. The quality of the fish was not that good, and the rolls were uninspired or just nasty. We have finally found some decent sushi. Fuji sushi is located across from Ross and Michaels at the back end of the strip mall. It is not much to look at from the outside, but stepping inside things look better. The miso soup was decent, but nothing special. We tried the crazy roll (awesome, you must try it) and a few other rolls. The wife also tried the tamago (omelet) sushi, and I tried the yellowtail and the maguro (tuna). The nigiri sushi (fish on top of formed rice) was decent, but still nothing amazing. Most of the rolls involve eel, crab sticks, shrimp and avocado, so there is not a whole lot of variety. Most of the rolls sound the same, and are just built a bit differently (crab inside or on top, etc). Though this is not the best sushi we have ever had, it will definitely do in a pinch. We will definitely be back.

Doing an update since my last review. On our lunch break (yesterday) we decided to go to Fuji Sushi. Although the sushi and everything else is great. The service is WAY to slow! The entire hour lunch break we had was spend drinking our waters. We had to literally stuff our faces once we got our food and ended up being late getting back to work (which is only 5 minutes away). We had to ask repeatedly for drink refills, silverware, and sauce. People who sat down way after us had gotten their food, eaten and left before we even recieved ours. Yes, I will go back, however I DO NOT recommend going their on your lunch break or if your in a hurry.

Traveling for business and this was close to the hotel. The place is not fancy but the sushi was great. I has the seaweed salad, Ichiban roll and smoked salmon sushi. Service was good as well. I will be back when returning to Jacksonville.

Once upon a time, the GF did not eat sushi. She thought that sushi only involved rice, seaweed, and raw fish - 3 things that were not eaten by WASPs who grew up in Plano, TX. Then she met me and I eventually convinced her that sushi need not contain raw fish. Her fear of catching parasitic nematodes eventually went away and now we eat sushi once or twice a week. When we do, we almost always go to Fuji Sushi. The Sunshine and True Love rolls are ridiculous -so good, that you may briefly forget their exorbitant price of $10 a roll. Not everything is that expensive, though. In fact, this place has some of the best prices for sushi that I've seen in Jax. In addition to the usual sushi/sashimi fare, you'll find a pretty extensive menu of Japanese food that you don't normally find in a sushi restaurant. Bento boxes, udon, shogayaki, etc. But, rest assured, they have the usual tempura/teppanyaki/katsu triumvirate as well. Also unlike other places where they give you the cut up orange at the end of dinner, this place gives you a cut up pineapple. The wait staff is very polite, in that giggly, apologetic Asian way we're all used to. And, yes, the restaurant is run by Chinese. Get over it.

Fuji Sushi is a great lunchtime place for sushi. I've been here a few times for lunch and it's always good. I've also had their lunch box and that is just as good.

Exceptional staff, phenomenal sushi and a meticulously well-kept dining area. I've frequented this location numerous times in various circumstances (busy, slow, moderate) and have always been welcomed by warm, friendly and prompt service. The sushi always tastes fresh and is brought out with an exceptional presentation. Their food is truly a work of art. Soups are solid, tea is hot and delicious, and for reiterative purposes the service is world-class. I've pestered them with numerous outlandish requests and haven't been met with an attitude once. I wish them continued success and hope they continue to improve on their winning formula.

Absolutely no lie, the best soft shelled crab I have had from South Florida to Washington state. Sushi chefs have phenomenal presentation skills. Very nice people. Not CHEAP but not RIDICULOUS. Pleasant environment.

I'm happy to say that this is my local Sushi bar - lucky me! The owners are lovely & friendly. They always remember what I like & how I like it....crazy rolls, shrimp sauce & hold the fish eggs - delish! 9 times out of ten I order to go but I've eaten in as well & there's no difference in quality of food or portion. The Sushi is always fresh & delicious. The interior is charming, modern & very zen like. Absolutely the best Sushi in town - that I've found in Jacksonville thus far
