This is my very first experience at Relish, and I'm happy to say that it was a delicious one! I arrived in the in twilight hours between lunch and dinner (which I seem to do quite often), and the staff was generous with their time and opinions! I always like to know what the staff thinks is best went going to a new place... Even if I don't take their advice, it often leads me down a culinary path I might not have traveled. Even with all of the fancy burger options, I went with the ol' reliable bacon cheeseburger, in order to adequately compare and contrast to other burgers. It. Was. So. Yummy. I also got french fries, which were terrific! Side note: Thank you so much for having Minute Maid Light Lemonade in your soda fountain! It is often quite difficult to find diet AND caffeine-free beverage when eating out. If you're near a Relish, do try it out! Your tastebuds won't be mad.

Burgers are amazing. There's not a lot that needs to be said. Staff is friendly, diverse topping and sauce selection. Also the only place in Gainesville you can get poutine, a Canadian french fry dish that is mind blowing.

Great spot for people watching. It was even a better spot to unwind and enjoy a good burger while the people in down town of Gainesville walk around and enjoy the night life. The toppings are endless and the bacon was fresh. Yes I said bacon. I had the double burger with everything add bacon. I also had a good conversation with Shawn Pugh which I can see managing the place in no time. Thanks for welcoming me in my moving transition! This will be a spot I will recommend to my friends and followers for as long as people like Shawn are employed. Good job Relish!

Decent burgers, the nice thing is you really get to custom order it. Choosing which ingredients you want, and which meats (Turkey, Beef, Chicken, Veggie). My one complaint is that it is a little pricey!

I'd pry rate this a 3 because it's pretty mediocre. Ok food, pretty good corn relish, but overall nothing special. It's pretty busy though.. Good service and the people working here were friendly.

Delicious customizable burgers with plenty of vegetarian options! Relish is a very conveniently-located casual burger joint that has a wide array of patties and toppings to please even picky eaters. The prices were reasonable and the food was made quickly. The quality was typical for what you would expect at this type of eatery, but the variety really makes it stand out.

I expected this to be a lot better than it was. Especially the poutine maybe if I was drunk at 2am downtown then I would've enjoyed it more

Really nice burgers. The setup to this place is similar to Pita pit. You tell them what kind of meat you want and then while the meat is cooking they prepare your bread and toppings for you. They are vegetarian friendly too. A lot of toppings and sauces. The burgers are juicy and similar to a Five Guys but I would say better. I've had some pretty bad experiences with burgers lately in Gainesville with gourmet burgers such as the ones at the Top which ended up being disappointing. This was like going back to the basics and it was perfect.

Big juicy burger and great fries. I think they cracked the McDonald's fry code, they are very similar! Made to order, fast and fresh, and lots of sauces to choose from (even Siracha). They'll also add an egg if you want one, I like having this option.

I always pick up my food from here but the service I receive while there is wonderful. I have yet to order anything I don't like from them however, the salmon burger is by far my favorite thing on the menu. Everything is always fresh here but is done quickly still. I will definitely be returning!

I like how they have the skinny style of serving your burger. The skinny style allows you to have your burger in a salad and you could have it sliced or not. You get to pick the dressing and toppings as well for your skinny style. And to top it off its not pricey at all.

I gave this burger joint a good review because it met my expectations exactly. It is what it is, a burger/dog joint, and everything was great. Tip- when pouring ketchup be careful the curry ketchup and regular look the same and I ended up eating half the fries thinking they were not good. I had poured the curry ketchup on them by mistake. Fries were good. It's also open late at night on weekends and Thursday.

So disappointed, this food has left a terrible taste in my mouth. I went here for a lunch break at work. Was there at 1pm on a Monday, they had no tomatoes and no coke from the fountain. i watched each customer in front of me ask for tomatoes and the guy dressing burgers kept telling them all he had were the scraps in the bottom of the container. It wasn't clear if the tomato bin was empty because they were out in the back, or if they just hadn't cut anymore up. Seriously needed to put a sign up if you were actually out. Instead each customer walked away annoyed, especially since the focus of this place seems to be all the different toppings you can put on your burger. Out of supply items aside, the fries tasted horrible, like oil and salt, watching the guy load them directly from the freezer to the fryer (which they keep right next to each other) should have been a dead give away. But the burger just tastes awful. Still have a bad taste in my mouth. I'm a big fan of Five Guys Burger and Fries and this place does not come close to their food. yuck.

A friend and I ordered their poutine fries, and the gravy was very salty. We continued to eat as much as we could bear anyway, but I wanted to be nice and let the cook know for future customers. She was completely rude and ignored me. Bad fries, bad experience. What a shame, because I usually enjoy their food.

The burgers here are delicious. Best way to describe this place is the subway/chipotle of burgers. You order your patty, drinks and fries then load up the toppings. The guy next to me ordered peanut butter on his, I had a wild salmon burger with garlic mayo. Washed this down with a craft beer. Being from California and trying many burger shops I really expected the same. I really love this place, wish they would expand to west coast!

Pretty good burgers at cheap prices! The setup is exactly like subway and it you add a few microwaves and replace the menus, it would be impossible to tell the difference. However, Relish does it's job, is a classic burger joint and is just fine. I probably won't come back, but that doesn't mean they don't fill their role well.

I really like this place for one simple reason. Since I do not eat cow and pig, I love ANY place that makes a good Turkey Burger. And they have a good Turkey Burger at Relish. Pretty much the atmosphere is like a larger, more TV-oriented Subway or Firehouse. You order in line, you customize your burger, sandwich or whatever- and you pick it up at the end or when they call your name. Burgers are pretty much cooked exactly to order as I have heard the cashiers ask groups of people coming in how many patties would be in their total orders so the cooks could get them on the grill. I love the curry ketchup, even though I have seen several people say they don't like it. I say if nothing else, give it a try in a cup with some fries and see if you like it. It is great on the turkey with just lettuce and lots of pickles. I would go here as a good place for burger and fries. Plus, it never seems to be SO crowded that it is difficult to sit in the restaurant and eat. Then again, I've only been twice- once for weekday lunch and once for Sunday lunch.

Probably my favorite place to eat in downtown Gainesville. It's like Subway for Freshly Grilled Burgers and Fries. I don't know why a national chain hasn't already thought of this. Food tastes amazing, and is reasonably priced.

Build your own unique burger, chicken sandwich or veggie burger with their awesome selection of sauces and toppings. I haven't tried it but people rave about the fried egg addition on the sandwich/burger. Fries are mediocre - fresh, but minimal in size and seasoning. Try the garlic parm seasoning on your fries though, add some yummy flavor. Staff at downtown location is exceptionally nice and friendly. They have beers on tap which makes for great burger and beer combo. Nice clean facility. Worth toughing the downtown parking situation. Far less crowded than mid-town location.

Loved the shakers of flavor for the fries. Soooo many options for dressing your burger that it can take a while to choose, but your burger is grilled to order by then, no waiting. Soooo delicious. New favorite burger joint.

First Relish I ever went to and it got me hooked on their delicious burgers. The ambiance is perfect and it is in a great location downtown. Staff is very friendly as well.

I'll preface this with, I hard a difficult time choosing between a 3 and 4 star. I had to go with 3 because I think the fries are awful. No quality burger joint has crappy fries. They were freshly fried right in front of me, so it wasn't like they were cold or soggy. They were just tiny and I'm not a fan of the "home fries" taste from a burger joint. The burger was good though. The burger was not "huge" as many have said. It's a good size, but "huge" they are not. I had a double and I'm sufficiently stuffed after eating that and the fries. Topped with cheese, a fried egg, boom boom sauce, lettuce, and tomato, it was good. The boom boom sauce had a good flavor. There's a lot of differnet sauces and relishes to slap on, but most of them I just look at go, "who the hell would put that on a burger?" The patties themselves are pretty similar to 5 guys, so on that comparison, I'd take 5 guys over Relish any day. I paid almost $10 for this burger and the crappy small fry. The same price at 5 guys gets you the same burger (minus the relish) and 5 times the amount of infinitely better fries.

***I reserve 5 star for exceptionally out of the ordinary.*** I had a very good burger here. Socal Burger Love is in the house! My wife Laurie and I met Rob the owner and had a nice conversation with him. It is pretty clear he knows a thing or two about putting a great eatery into the community. The best thing about Relish was the opportunity to be a burger builder and then have it crafted by grill-smiths. You won't go wrong eating here. I recommend putting tzatziki on your burger, so good! Fries were very tasty and overall I would have to say kudos on the idea! It definitely has franchise expansion opportunity. I bet we will see Relish all over the country in a few years.

This was my first time at the down town location and I must say it's a great spot. I have been to the other location multiple times and really like the downtown one a lot better. It's more spacious and welcoming. For this trip we got the chicken sandwich, which I highly recommend if you haven't had it before and aren't feeling the heavy juicy burger. We ordered to go and walked it over to House of Beer which was a great idea and made for a good lunch. You obviously have to get one of the relishes, I like the tangy relish and usually find another sauce to turn up the heat a little bit. Try egg on your burger or sandwich it really adds to the experience. The fries are great but if you ordered a double you won't need the fries. If you haven't been to this location make sure to stop by and take in downtown Gainesville.

Compared to the other location in midtown I preferred my experience here. I had the grilled chicken sandwich and it was delish. Like I said in the review for the other location, I just think it's so hard to rate them because my satisfaction is so based upon what toppings I chose. I like their selection and would probably revisit them again on a lunch break when I'm craving a good chicken sandwich.

Great concept.... really simple menu. Pick your size ... one two or three patties... pick your toppings... pick your sides and drinks... easy peasy. The burgers are good! I can tell they are never frozen because the meat is always nice and juicy. I haven't gotten too adventurous with the huge variety of sauces and relishes that they have yet, but I'm sure I will be coming back frequently! Fries were not that great... they were not well seasoned and still have the new fryer taste since this location just recently opened. Maybe they will be better in a couple weeks once it gets broken in a bit more!

Delicious. Fresh jalapeño, many sauces to choose from (I picked mango habanero), and Cajun spice shakers for your fries, Fantastic!

The vegetable burger tasted horrible and cost $10. Yuck.

Here's what I did: double patty plus cheese plus bacon plus fried egg with mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, salt & pepper with bbq sauce on the side plus fountain drink. That's all you need and puts 5 guys to shame.

We loved it, great burgers and great fries a step up from 5 guys.
