Arrived at 7:00 on Saturday night. Seated immediately, no wait. Booth was clean and large, plenty of room for party of four. Live music playing (singer with acoustic guitar playing popular songs) added to festive atmosphere. Waiter was prompt with drink and food orders, stopped back enough to feel taken care of but not so much as to be intrusive. Prompt with refills on drinks. Started out with buffalo chicken dip. I'm not a big fan in general but my party wanted it. Came out piping hot, cheesy and delicious. Came light on corn chips but proved to be just the right amount to polish off the dip with. For my meal I took the waiters recommendation and tried the blackened mahi mahi sandwich with the magic jerk sauce. AWESOME! Lots of flavor, including the pretzel bun. Turned into a drippy mess but really satisfying. Since this place is a Wings place, I felt obligated to try some. I went with an order of five traditional wings with buffalo kiwi sauce and shared with my wife. Would have enjoyed a meal out of these too! Nice heat on the tip of my tongue and lips with a sweet kiwi finish. Unique flavor that was new to my experienced wing-eating pallet. Not the meatiest wings but made a nice companion to the fish sandwich. I also had the cole slaw side (at the recommendation of the waiter) and it too was amazing. The tropical fruit mixed in made for another unique sweet flavor to offset the heat. They feature a "fryer free" kitchen but I didn't feel my meal was compromised because of it. Really enjoyed my dinner! Others in my group had French fry's that I tasted and although it was close, they didn't fool me that they were baked. I'd recommend staying away from the fry's and trying a different side. Party of four adults dined (without alcohol) for about $60 plus tip. They had a large list of beers as well as some Mac and Cheese dishes that are calling me for a return visit! We'll see what the remainder of the vacation brings! Give this place a try, I'd eat here again.

Not a bad place to watch football. The place wasn't too crowded, some tables even have their own screens. The waitress we had was pretty good. For appetizer we got the bacon cheese fries and they were really tasty. We ordered the 30 piece boneless wings (Spicy Garlic Teriyaki, Buffalo Kiwi, and Jerk Spice). They were ok for wings. I thought I'd try the Buffalo Kiwi since it wasn't a flavor I ever heard of. It was not too great, but I enjoyed the other FlavorSaver better. The Spicy Garlic Teriyaki was my favorite, but way spicier than I thought it was going to be which was fine. The desserts aren't on the menu for whatever reason but we tried out the dessert quesadilla and turned out to be the best thing we had. I'd recommend getting it.

IDK what the first persons problem was, but brand new restaurants are gonna be hit or miss when they first open.....that's how it gets its bearings...that said the wait staff was very new, left us behind when seating us (didn't say "Follow me" or provide any sort of indication she intended to seat us). She wasn't rude though, in fact all the staff we interacted with smiled the WHOLE time and was extremely friendly...the previous reviewer said the food was so-so...it's baked chicken, not fried, so it's not supposed to be crispy...our food was outstanding but the island fries are a wee bit overpriced for a basket of fries and three sauces...most wing places are judged on their sauces, this one gets a thumbs up...I had the dry garlic Parmesan and mango habanero, jalapeño ranch and bleu cheese for dipping. 50 choices of beer on tap is a healthy plus too. We will absolutely be back.

Mediocre Food, Horrible Service. I decided to go to Island Wing Company after my first day in Destin, and chose to eat there after hearing great things about both the food and the atmosphere. I had high expectations that were not met in the slightest. It was during a March Madness Final Four game, and the restaurant was full of people. It was clear that the restaurant was understaffed, for when entering the building there was not even a hostess waiting at the entrance. My family and I were waiting for a good ten minutes before we were even helped, and a few more minutes later we were seated. Things were looking good until we began to order. Our waiter was friendly and kind. He took our drink order and our food order at the same time because my family was all ready, and then headed off. It took forever to get our drinks, and our waiter never returned to check on us and provide us with refills until our food arrived. My dad ordered a beer, and never received it the entire evening. I ordered a burger, which was mediocre, and my family ordered mac-and-cheese, which they said was amazing. After that, our waiter disappeared for a while. We finished our food during this time, and were ready to go. It took asking two different workers at the restaurant to finally track down our waiter to give us our check. After leaving, my entire family was in agreement that it was one of the worst service we had ever experienced. Overall, I give Island Wing Company two stars for ok food, good vibes, and horrible service.

Great service, a huge selection of craft beers, and wings too. You can order flats if your not a big fan of drummets. ..the bourbon sauce is to die for. Just loved it. Will be a frequent flyer at this great find....

A Must stop and eat when in Destin. I had the wings with the Buffalo kiwi sauce and OMG.....they were to die for good. We are huge foodies so trust me when I say it is a memorable experience. Hubby had mahi tacos and to quote "these are the best fish tacos I've ever had!" and he's had ALOT! Beer choices may seem a bit overwhelming if it wasn't for the waiters being very attentive and helpful but not overbearing in making customized suggestions for your taste. We skipped desert for the dark chocolate stout beer which was well worth it.

We visited this past week with family and parents. (Party of 8) The food, service and beer selection was incredible. I have had dozens (maybe hundreds) of different types of buffalo wings and think these rate with some of the best. All food in restaurant is baked (no fried food throughout) and the wings were out of this world. Would have never thought baked wings could taste so good. They also have 57 different beers and had a few great/rare ones on tap. Finally, the service was attentive through out our meal. We will certainly return next year during spring break.

Best wing place in destin hand down! The place is awesome and the food is fantastic. Great place to eat and watch a game or just hang out with friends. Lots of beer on tap and other drinks. Patio is fun. Sometime service can be slower than desired but nothing to bad. The food (wings in particular) are incredible! Since baked not fired seems a little healthier too. Def the place where locals go for wings in destin. Good price and value too!

To be fair I have never actually been here and have been so excited to go to this local establishment. I tried to call in an order to pick up there and from the moment the representative picked up the phone and I said I wanted to make a to go order the female rep was NOT welcoming or accommodating. She told me to hold for "a minute" so she could take my order. 1 minute turned into 4 minutes of me holding while I heard every detail of conversation that was around the phone and going on at the counter, I heard other orders being taken and an extreme amount of noise. Now being that I have never stepped foot in this place hearing all this as my first impression was not very good, why couldn't have my to-go order been taken and the female representative just go back to what she was doing? I ended up hanging up after being on hold for a total of 5 minutes and then calling back...and then calling back again...and again..and then 1 more time. No one picked up after my first call and so I never ordered and I never went into store. They lost my order and the revenue from it and now I am hesitant to even suggest anyone else go there or for myself to go there at all.

I don't know even know where to start, let's say pathetic. This place is a joke, 20 minute wait before drinks orders where taken. Then another 10 to 15 minutes for our order to be taken. Needless to say 1 hour 15 minutes later we had to request for the manager to come over. She was a real smart a$$. After her stating it had been 33 minutes since our order was taken she fought to try an explain. She finally comp out bill by %50. I understand it's a tourist area that could result in long waits, but they were dead. I might just be a one time ordeal but I will not be back anytime soon. The traditional Sweet Caribbean wings were really good.

  • Zack M.

Great beer selection, friendly service, but the food was horrible. I had 2 different types of wings, and they were soggy and tasted like they were fresh out of the bag from win Dixie. I've had great baked wings before and expected a crispy non fried healthy treat. They were soggy, fatty, and the worst wings I have ever had. The place is great other than that. Destin has needed a great sports bar like this, but the food has to get better.

    (1)
  • Susan F.

Not happy with wings. Ordered boneless wings med. Boneless lemon pepper. Did not have blue cheese dressing or buffalo wings.

    (2)
  • Evan J.

Food was pretty good. Wings were good and the fires were baked but tasted somewhat burnt. I'd probably come here again.

  • Tommie W.

Compared to the other food in Destin, this was one of the best places I ate at.. Had some wings and fries, and was happy with them.

    (4)
  • James B.

This place has the worst service ever. Half the place was completely empty and the lady told us we could sit but she wasn't going to help us for over 30 min. Last time I was here the bar tender was super rude also. Will not return that's for sure

Got wings to go. Ordered by telephone. First of all the food was good - four types of wings tried: Traditional hot, thai curry boneless, garlic parm traditional and jerk boneless. All very good. Couple of suggestions to make the "to go" part better. None of the boxes of wings were labeled. We were able to figure out by a process of elimination which was which (number of wings ordered) however, I am not a "hot" fan - if I had bit into one of the hot ones by mistake - I would have been really upset. Ditto the dips - none of them labeled and they all look identical. Honestly I think we got 4 blue cheese vs what we requested. Last thing - we ordered carrots and celery and got one small box for four orders of wings! I hope that was a mistake. All that said - the food was good - the service timely and I would go back. Loved that wings were baked vs fried.

  • Cali H.

We come here a lot, love the TV set up and the wings are good too. Wish they had mac n cheese as a side, apparently lots people ask for it but they can't make it happen. Also, you'll get much better service if the female bartenders are working. The B team male bartenders (one who happens to be the bar manager) have a hard time seeing empty glasses and up selling you drinks, especially when they stand in the corner talking to other employees all night. We will continue to come back, just always hope they step up their game!

Delicious food- some classic foods with a twist, great service & live music, & fantastic beverage choices!

The wings were average and the actual wing menu was the last page. I ordered a burger which was below average. Service was very slow. Nice and clean restaurant.

Got the 4th star for draft selection. Food was ok. Got boneless wings half and half chipotle cheddar and sweet Thai chile. Thai chile was good, but I wouldn't get the other again.

I'm really glad this place opened; Destin needs it. I love the layout of the bar and restaurant. There's outdoor seating, booths and lots of tables, all of which have unobstructed views of the myriad of big screens they have on the walls and around the bar. It's a very open place, which is great for sports bars since you want to be able to see multiple games at once (usually). There is a TON of beer flowing in this joint. As I'm writing this review, Island Wing Company in Destin hasn't been open very long, so I'm sure they'll tweak their draft and bottled beer selections over time depending on the demand, but I was impressed at the current selection, as there was something for everyone. The menu is a quintessential sports bar menu. Sandwiches, burgers, quesadillas and wings (yeah, yeah, there's rabbit food, too). I love the wing sauce options, especially Mango Habanero (COME ON) and thought the dipping sauces complimented the menu. It's still a young place, but the staff is happy to be working, the food is good to eat, the beer is cold and The Game is on.

DOG-FRIENDLY! Called around for a dog-friendly patio that had NFL Sunday Ticket and Island Wing Company was the only place that we found that would air the game was wanted. Their patio was also capable of airing two other games on their big flat screen TVs. Ordered the jerk chicken salad and big shrimpin' quesadilla. Salad was disappointing but the quesadilla was excellent. Four stars because of the dog-friendly factor, the waitress being so accommodating and friendly, airing our game, clean patio and the shrimp quesadilla.

This is the first restaurant my family and I ate at while spending a week in Destin. We weren't looking for anything in-particular or anything fancy. This place is family friendly and we had a great time! I recommend the Mac n' Cheese burger it was everything I could've imagined and the entire family was asking for a bite. I was very satisfied with my meal. My parents both got boneless wings and they raved about those as well. My sister on the other hand was not pleased with her meal. She got the Mac Daddy which is macaroni and cheese loaded with bacon. She is a fan of bacon but claimed there was way too much of it. The service was fast and friendly and the food came out in no time. If you're not looking for anything fancy just somewhere to have a nice dinner with your family in Destin, this is the place for you!

Good food and drinks. Waitress was a little slow and could of been more personable. Nice bar area for watching games.

Very good and as close as this girl gets to eating "healthy" :). Real food that's baked only not fried :O. Blasphemy- I know! But it's very delicious and the waitress we had was wonderful. She got me extra sauces that were otherwise "not available" according to another waitress :). As a tourist, that was much appreciated when trying something for the first time. I had The Bandito burger. The more I poured the chipotle ranch sauce the more smoke came out of my ears but it was great!

It's a BW3 knockoff, but a good knockoff, indeed. The wings here are baked, not fried, and it definitely makes a huge difference in taste. After being seated, we immediately noticed IWC has a great selection of beer. Bells Oberon. Yep, sold. For wings, we went with the Jerk & Mango. The wings, albeit small, were some of the best that I've had. Very flavorful, and baked. The fries were just OK, but I didn't care, as we came here for the wings, beer, and to watch college football. The service was good, and there are TV's everywhere. In fact, each booth has their own personal tv. So, if you're a sports fan, love beer, and want good, baked wings, I highly recommend IWC. Unlike a lot of B'dubs these days, it is refreshing to dine in at an extremely clean establishment. I will return next time I'm in Destin.

Great atmosphere! Great food! Great service! A nice change from the usual "eat out" places!! Will definitely be back.

This place is FANTASTIC. From the service to the food to the atmosphere, my party and I were blown away. There's lots of options on the menu and something for everyone. The service was efficient, friendly, and quick. I would definitely return.

It's gross! Dirty, sticky, somewhat smelly. The staff look miserable. Great beer selection, but the food is just a step above terrible. I do not recommend this establishment

First time in Destin, Florida and my family and I were looking for new places to try. 1.1 miles away from our hotel and a few reviews so we decided to try it out! Cool atmosphere there, plenty of tv's, and a crap load of drafts on tap. But it was EMPTY so we expected it be a quick visit. However, that was not the case. My brother and I shared the wings (About $1 something a wing) Spicy Garlic Teriyaki, Firecracker Citrus, and Sweet Thai Chili. I asked for lemon pepper on the side and the waitress goes, "Oh thats really weird.."(either because that's a Texas thing or because shes just new). The ladies tried the tacos. One had the Ja'mon Jerk Taco and the other had Mahi Wowwie Maui taco. For the baby we orded two pieces of grilled chicken. The wings were amazing. Great crunch, lots of flavor, very filling and hot! The fries are $2 more. Not worth. Lol was cold and nothing special about them. The tacos, however, was a different story. The ladies said, and quote, "Taco Bell is better. Not really much flavor." The baby couldn't eat the tenders either because it was really dry... had to ask for new pieces(which were kind of better). Long story short, only come here for their wings. Lol

Stopped in yesterday for a cold one and were very impressed. Lots of craft beers on tap, but not to the exclusion of American standbys. The Bartender was very helpful in picking out different beers to try. We hadn't intended to eat, but one look at the menu and we were ordering. The traditional wings were good, but had to pick a lower end sauce since my wife was sharing. Kicking Honey Bourbon is very good and has a fair kick to it. But, the Mahi Reuben was fabulous! Funniest part was the Pineapple Coconut Rum Slaw. I hate coconut in any way, shape or form, but I could eat this slaw all day long. Can't wait to go back!

  • Erica K.

Wow the food was amazing. I literally have nothing bad to say about it. Portions were incredible... steamed veggies were exactly what I wanted. I have a huge issue with service. If you have this many beers on tap you should have a knowledgeable staff... And you should also have a wait staff that knows what they are doing!

  • Gwen W.

Went for lunch today, they were out of 4 requested beers (that were on their menu) lunch came and my wings were old and dried out, no moisture at all, some of the wings were so over cooked they where hardened on the bone, overly saturated with sauce to HIDE the poor quality, the wings were so small I asked if they were off a Cornish hen. Not a great day to eat or drink there. 2 Thumbs down today!

I tied this place on a whim, and I'm really glad I did. It was late at night, so they weren't too packed. Our waiter was extremely helpful. I had two flights (sampler tray) of beer. The waiter was knowledgable and even gave me a couple extra to try. HUGE selection of beer. Oh and the wings? Superb. Their wings are baked, so this is a much healthier alternative than typical fried wings. Granted the healthiness can be done away with depending which sauce you select. I picked 4 different sauces, including peanut butter and jelly. You have to at least try pb&j wings! I also had fish tacos. I was sampling everything I could in my first trip. Excellent food, excellent experience and atmosphere. A musician set up and began playing just before we left. Nice way to end a great experience. I will be going back frequently!

This place. Where do I start? I went for dinner tonight, on high hopes of good food from a friend's recommendation. I had been here once before for a couple beers and said friend got a veggie quesadilla, and it was good. I was excited for veggie "wings" (and apparently lots of other options), so this was where my mom and I ended up tonight. Our server was friendly and quick to arrive at our table, but once we got our food order in, she disappeared. Our food order was: veggie "chicken" nuggets with pineapple coleslaw and carrot and celery sticks, a side of fries, a quesadilla with the "rasta rice", and a beer flight (on special for $6). The food came out pretty quickly, but was also pretty bad. My mom said her quesdilla was good, but that's where it ended. My nuggets were room temperature, the "rasta rice" was bland yellow rice with canned black beans, the cole slaw was regular cole slaw with canned chunk pineapple thrown in. The fries...tasted like fries. Frozen, baked fries. Once we finally got our server's attention, I told her my nuggets weren't hot and asked if they could put them in the microwave or some such thing. She obliged, and brought them back a few minutes later, still room temperature. I can't make any comment about the quality of those, because they're Quorn brand, which are usually pretty good, if you're used to meat analogs like that. After a figurative forever, she came back to the table to check on us (and didn't ask if my dinner was any better) and I asked for the check separated. She brought one check, and it came out to $34 and change. Here's a breakdown, minus tax & tip: Quesadilla: $10 Veggie nuggets: $10 Side item: $3 Carrots & celery sticks: $1 (which is a petty amount to whine about, but she didn't tell me there was a charge when she offered it) Beer flight: $6 Tea: $2 Pretty steep for subpar food and awful service, if you ask me. Guess I won't be back.

We came here last year for the college football national championship game and came again this year. We sat at the bar and had a great time once again. Bar staff was attentive and our drinks always full. the food, as always was good. I recommend the mango Habanero sauce on the boneless wings... very good and the tv setup is good as well. Thanks for the great time, keep it up.

I'm really not sure what the negative remarks are about. Particularly that the place is "dirty and sticky". The restaurant is brand new and is one of the cleanest restaurants I have been in. In addition, the food is great, the wings are some of the best in town, and the staff is professional and courteous. That's why so many of us locals are regulars. Island Wing Company is opened late and the staff will accommodate just about any reasonable request. It's a shame that people write comments that just are not true. Also, this is a great place to catch a game; not many places are as open, clean, and have the number of high-quality TVs that Island Wing Company has. My only complaint is that they have too many beers on tap.

  • Pancho V.

Great service, great beer selection, great wings! I had the Mango Habanero and Garlic Teriyaki wings. The Mango Habanero had a vinegar flavor like traditional Buffalo wings...I didn't care for. The Garlic Teriyaki were fantastic. Good prices!

We've had pretty poor luck with Island Wing Company's food in the past, but we were in Destin and wanted to catch the second half of a game. We told the server we wanted to sit in whatever section was showing that game. Sat for about 10 minutes. No server or no acknowledgment. Got some beers at the bar after getting tired of waiting. I joked with my girlfriend that maybe no one would ever show up and we wouldn't have to feel guilty about watching their TV without getting their food. Someone finally showed up. I got a burger, which as always ended up being dry and tasteless. Shortly after we sat down after specifically asking to be able to watch a specific game, someone changed the channel to a channel that was already on 3 other TVs around us. I asked them to change it back, and they said someone asked for it to be changed. I guess I'm not someone so I don't count. This place is just worthless in every way.

  • Jennifer I.

This bar is pretty neat. Each booth has its own television, which may or may not be a good thing (boyfriend ignoring you while you eat a meal = bad thing; being able to watch a game together if you're both into sports = awesome). The food here is also delicious, and I like that they do not fry their wings. Yes, that's right, they bake their wings! I've seen some of the reviews on here saying that it's loud, it's crowded, etc. Well, yes, that is true...it's a sports bar, and it's going to be loud and filled with rowdy boys. If you're looking for a quiet place to have a romantic dinner, this isn't it. However, if you're like me, and you enjoy mixing romance with sports and debauchery, it fits the bill.

From the Wife. "After hearing great things about the Island Wing Company, I came for lunch with my husband. We ordered the tuna dip as an app. And it was nothing like what we expected. It's more of a tuna salad (be real, it IS tuna salad) that you put onto crackers. The flavor was good but it should be on a sandwich. It was misleading. I ordered the buffalo Mac and added chicken. My "buffalo" Mac came out without the chicken and had such strong bleu cheese flavor it was overwhelming. Our waiter was very absent and even when my husband had been out of beer for 5 minutes, getting the waiter's attention was difficult. When we finally got him and told him about the missing chicken he went to the kitchen and returned with a bowl of completely plain, bland, chicken for me to mix into my Mac. Not really what I wanted since the Mac barely had any sauce so the chicken stayed plain and gross. Mixing it with my cold macaroni wasn't really appealing. Our waiter never seemed to notice that I didn't eat my lunch. My husband got the mahi tacos And said that they were good and my son had the kids cheeseburger which looked okay. Total of $51 for an overall crappy lunch is super disappointing. I wish the waiter or manager had cared enough to ask me about my meal but we were charged for and paid for the added chicken and the uneaten nasty Mac. Won't be back."

Updated review...first couple trips here, when it was fairly new, it was ridiculously loud, and it was football game commentary cranked up to 11. It was absolutely impossible to have a conversation, and just a terrible experience. Well, I'm happy to say we've been back a couple times recently and they seem to have discovered their volume knob on the TVs - woohoo! I love the fact that there are no deep fryers in this place. The food is good here, so as long as they don't forget that they have that volume control on their TVs, this will be a fairly regular place for me.

  • Shazana H.

The wings (both boneless and with bones) are among the best we have had. And we know and love wings! The mango habanero are delicious as are the hot! The kids meals are $6 and you can get 5 wings and a side of really fresh, hand sliced not sautéed to death squash, zucchini and broccoli in a very large bowl. Not to mention a great beer selection. Definitely a great find!

I've been here around a dozen or so times in my recent 6 months of living here. Wanting to watch the UGA game, my boyfriend and I decided to go there to watch the game and grab a few beers and food. We sat for over 10 minutes before I finally decided to just walk up to the bar and order our beers there. I asked if where we were sitting had a server, since we already had an appetizer planned to order (plus planned to drink more beers) and the bartender apologized and sent someone over. From then on service was mediocre at best. While I was watching UGA play on one tv straight ahead of where we were sitting, my boyfriend began watching the UT game on a nearby tv (it was on 2 that were side by side at this point). Then, both of those tvs were quickly turned to the UGA game (which was already on on many televisions). We asked a male employee about it, I believe he was a host, and he basically brushed it off, saying someone wanted it changed. To which we then said, "Okay, well we're ready to go." I did not however say, "Hey, please take away my half full beer" but guess what, he did anyway. Slow service from the get go, strike one, changing the tvs to all match one game, strike 2, taking away a customer's half full beer- strike three, you're out of our list of places to ever spend money again. Many better places in Destin to spend your money on beer, wings, and service in general.

I order something different every time. Never disappointed! The food is always great, especially the fish tacos. Vast selection of beers on tap. Love their baked wings. The spicy garlic teriyaki are my favorite!

We're locals and apologize for not discovering this place sooner. We love it! Full bar with over 50 beers on tap. The mac n cheese, chili, orange-ginger wings, and mahi fish tacos were outstanding. Staff was friendly as could be and it was clean, so we're not sure about all the negative comments below. Awesome sports bar with TVs everywhere with games showing. Highly, highly recommend this place!

  • Monica B.

I've eaten here several times since they opened this year and every time has been a great time. The food always tastes fresh and the portions aren't too large like most wing places. We come for the beer selection (the best in town for draft beer) and for their wing sauces. Absolutely delicious. Their steamed veggies are always fresh vegetables too. Nothing frozen. Service has always been friendly and attentive. It's one of our favorite lunch spots for sure.
