We headed up to DeLand for the opening weekend of the Persimmon Hollow Brewery. I liked the laid back vibe and the family atmosphere. People of all ages hanging out and drinking some better than decent craft beer. Overall I'm a fan, but I gave it three starts only because the beer still needs some work when comparing it to other four star breweries like Due South or Salt Water Brewing. The beer is fine, but not great and if I lived in Deland, I'd probably visit regularly. At least on the weekends, there are food trucks in the alley behind the brewery where you can grab some nice snacks and bring them in to the brewery. Overall, I like the place.

Visited Florida for a week and tried beers from all around the state, including Cigar City. Persimmon Hollow by far was the best. We shared a flight of their Tripel (beer of the week), Dubbel, Beach Hippie, and their pale ale, followed by a pint of the Beach Hippie. All were quite well-made and had a good consistency, flavor, mouthfeel, and crispness. My brother-in-law had a cider (I think from another brewery) and enjoyed it as well. I attended Stetson from 2002-2006, and boy do I wish they had been here. I was highly doubting PH's quality because it's a small brewery in Florida, a state with notoriously awful beer. Keep it up, guys!

Great place to hang out and try some good and creative brews. My wife and I loved it. 4 out of 5 stars because I wish they served food, but I think you can bring in your own food. We were only gonna have a few beers, but ended up staying for a few hours. Very chill place to relax, saw people bring in games to play with friends and family. Staff and most importantly the customers were all very nice and had a good time talking and made some new friends.

If you are a true lover of beer then look no further than this outstanding little brewery in downtown DeLand. Persimmon Hollow has a wide selection of hometown brews that are flavorful, distinct, and what the beer gods are surely drinking up on mount brewlympous. There's something here for everyone, whether it's a pint or a flight, definitely be sure to try something new when you stop by. This spot has plenty of comfy seating, a large selection of beers, and a industrial feel with a modern twist. When you enter the space it's like you're in an old warehouse with beautiful exposed wooden beams, a rock slab bar, and a concrete floor. Behind the bar the entire back wall is fully glass, floor to ceiling, where you can see the brewing process take place. The whole vibe is what you would think of when a crafty small-town microbrewery and I absolutely love the atmosphere. If you're within driving distance of this place be sure to stop in and enjoy yourself for a few hours!

What an amazing brewery! We did a 2 flights off all their beers and they were all good. I don't really like certain styles, like the wit beer, but it was a good version. I liked all of the stouts and the beach hippie IPA. The bartender new his stuff and made for good conversation. I will be back!

Was not impressed with any of the beer. The DeeLand White Ale in particular tasted like someone mixed it with their feet. Some others were not terrible but not great enough to want to order a second pour. The environment is OK if you are in college or a hipster that wishes you were still in college, but to me it was too loud and crowded. I'll try it again some time in the future to see if the beer has improved but my first couple of visits were very disappointing.

Good beers and a good time. My wife is from Deland and we always have a hard time figuring out where to hang out when we are in town tonight. This is a great place to spend a couple hours hanging out with friends and enjoying beers. Relaxed environment, just the right amount of music and loudness- not too loud. Try the paddle wheeler red, I enjoyed it. The wife enjoyed the beach bum IPA. They also have golden tee, darts, and pool.

Love the atmosphere and friendly staff. I tried and enjoyed all their beers as well. Their stout and white ale were particularly good, but they're all well above average. I also enjoyed their small but carefully selected handful of guest taps. This will be a regular stop any time I'm in DeLand.

Excellent brews from ipas to reds to stouts . They also carry growlers which u can take home with you. Beautiful setting in downtown deland and you can also see all the casks and fermenters through a glass window ! My current fave is the sleepy holler.

Oh Deland - why do you decide to try to get cool years after I leave? Been wanting to try this place for a while since I heard about it and made a special point to come out here. The beer itself has a great flavor to it. We tried a flight and sampled a good portion. The problem is that it all seemed flat (not sure if that was intentional) and they seemed to be heavy handed on the sugar. Don't know if they were trying to get the alcohol content up, but all of my glasses were "sticky" if you know what I mean. The space itself is awesome and a place I could definitely hang out on a Sunday afternoon, playing pool or darts, or Stetson-branded corn hole. The spread of tables was also inviting and the service was good - although there was no rhyme or reason to how the flights were presented, so we had no idea which beer we were actually drinking half the time. They really should put them in order or give you chart.

Great place, but no flights! I like to go into a place and try all the beers. This is the ONLY brewery that doesn't have flights. We talked to one of the owners and bartenders about bringing in flights, but they still haven't. They will allow you to buy half pours but you have to ask cause its not listed on the menu.

Deland has finally made the map. We now have a brewery. Very cool old warehouse converted to tasting room. IPA is good. White ale is a bit too bitter for my taste. Belgian stout is fairly good as well. Cool vibe worth checking out.

Discovered this really neat craft brewery on a recent Sunday. We ordered 2 flights ($7 each) that included 8 of their well-crafted beers. Loved them all. No food but great chips for $3 a bag. Very personable staff. A wall of windows showcasing the tanks and brewery operation. Overall a very pleasant experience. We will definitely return.
