Tried this place for the first time today and the food was good. I love Greek food and was excited to try this restaurant. What I ordered was the chicken gyros with lettuce, tomato, onions, and feta cheese with a side french fries. Even the tzatziki was fresh in taste and delicious.

So their service is pretty good. Attentive and nice. I've eaten here a few times since I work near the location. I won't be back due to small portion compared to prices.i get a side of TWO falafel for three dollars. That was seriously shocking. I left this place hungry after that and an order of salad. I guess that's why they call it hungry Greek since you'll pay for two meals to be satiated.

My boyfriend and I have been here twice so far. I've ordered the combo gyro with a side of potato salad and also falafel (because who doesn't like falafel?!). He ordered the chicken Caesar pita which he LOVES. Service is fast and friendly. The atmosphere is lovely, open, and bright at the entrance. This is definitely a place we'll frequent. The gyro is yummy as is the falafel and the potato salad is to die for (it'll be my staple side from now on) Why only 4 stars? The prices are somewhat skewed. An extra $2.99 for a side of 'okay' plain fries/potato salad/side salad or rice and a drink not even included. The same price for 2pc a falafel seems also a bit high to me but yet I continue to order it... Give and take I suppose. Also, I am a rice eater and the rice here was just okay(Minute rice not basmati?) which is why I'll be siding with their potato salad Good place. I'd suggest it.

I am in love with the hungry pita with chicken which has tzatziki and hummus on it :) must get the side greek salad with it.

This is one of my favorite places to grab a quick bite to eat on the go. The Hungry greek is fast, fresh and has good prices. I always get the gyro sandwich or the gyro platter with rice & greek salad. Their salad is some of the best greek salad around, especially because of the dressing they use and the potato salad hiding on the bottom. When I went with my gf, she ordered the chicken souvlaki platter and I tried one of her chicken skewers. Didn't care for the seasoning on the chicken, but she likes it a lot. We've also tried the spinach pie, which was good, but not as good as my family makes it at home. It's rare that I've found a greek restaurant that makes it better than my homemade style. I just stick with the gyro every time, can't go wrong there. We are lucky to have such great greek food in Clearwater and Tarpon and this place is definitely one of the best "quick" style ones.

This place was awesome. Tuesday's they have $5 gyros. They are fairly big with predominantly all meat. Good bang for your buck. I recommend it.

Damn, I didn't want to like this place. It looked like yet another chain and I'm from Atlanta where most of our Greek restaurants are all mom&pop shops. This is one of the best gyros I have had in a long while. The pita bread was warm and extremely fresh. The gyro's are a pretty decent size too. I had the falafal and it was fantastic - not greasy, very tastey. This is going to sound weird, but I love the way they cut lettuce for these gyros -it's shredded! Most place put some flacid unappetizing chards of lettuce, but this place is different. This location is right on gulf to bay near the big Target shopping center. IT is actually a nice place to sit and enjoy lunch because there are a ton of windows that lets a lot of light in and actual comfortable chairs. They also have a little outdoor seating area to eat at - bonus! Service - friendly and prompt. Can't ask for anything better! While I was waiting on my food, they were fulfilling orders right and left for these HUGE cakes. If you order a cake here, be prepared to feed an army.

LThis Is a great little Greek place and will now be my go to spot for a great pita or salad. The ingredients are fresh, both the chicken and gyro meat were flavorful, and unlike the other chain Greek places like little Greek and Athenian gardens, the Greek dressing is made right. The pita bread was served nice and hot giving it the perfect texture. For a casual restaurant quality and taste is spot on. The price is fair compared to other similar places and the portions were more than adequate. Neither my wife or I finished our food. To sum it up: great Great food, fair price, clean atmosphere, ok service.

Simple and good Greek food. Makes you want to drive the extra 30min to the sponge docks, but it will suffice if you don't have time.

I used to work at the Hungry Greek on race track road a few year ago. I loved eating the food every day I was there and that is true at this new location as well One of my favorites is the chopped mini Greek salad! I love it because its a good size for one person, the ingredients are fresh and most importantly of all they use the farmer boy Greek dressing, which is out of this world good. The souvlaki meal is also good, with nice skewers of grilled chicken with tzatziki sauce and a side of their Greek rice which i could eat every single day In this new location it's very nicely decorated and provides quick service. Prices are good for the portion sizes. Ill be back!!

Very nice place. Food is super fresh and hot . After you order they bring pita bread and tzaciki sauce for your table. Bread is perfectly toasted . Their chicken is a bomb. I love the Greek salad with potato salad . Dressing they use is delicious. Thumbs up for Hungry Greek

This joint is a bit new, along with all of the staff. So you kind of get a lot of "I'm not sure" answers. But the food is quite decent for fast Greek food. Plenty of parking, but during lunch it can get overly crowded. They built the place really well with lots of room EXCEPT where the fountain drinks are. They are tucked in a corner with only one way in & out. So when it's lunch time and lots of people are getting drinks, it's a bit tough. When the staff are better trained and the place is grooved in, I'm sure it will be better. I met the owner, he's a nice guy and is working lots to perfect his customer service.

I didn't eat here. I can't. Bummer, I wanted to try this place for their falafel. One problem, they only use soybean oil, which a) I'm allergic to and b) it's not healthy for anyone. I wish restaurants would stop using soybean oil. But it's cheap so that's what they buy... Fortunately, with all the health concerns, many restaurants are changing to healthier oils and getting rid if the soy oil. Soy is one of the top 8 food allergens. And a lot of people just don't want soy in their diet for multiple health concerns regarding the estrogen effect. And no one wants hydrogenated soy oil, it's very bad for cardiovascular health. I hope this restaurant sees this review and considers changing their oil to a healthier non-allergen choice.

The Hungry Greek is a new place to eat in Clearwater Mall. It's fast food mixed with sit down. You order at the counter and sit while they cook it fresh. The price is ok, there is a very large selection and the food is good. Great mainstream Greek. I get the Greek salad (you can't mess that up!) and my husband goes for the pitas. That's all very tasty. We got the falafels which were just ok (Mana Mana Mediterranean food in downtown Clearwater ha the best falafels I've ever tasted, hands down). But the food portions are huge here!

  • Coia W.

I usually love this place and the only reason I get a Greek salad is for the potato salad. The large Greek salad with chicken usually comes with 2 scoops of potato salad. Today I got back to my hotel and realized I had none. And only received one container of salad dressing. Biggest disappointment ever. Not coming back. Sorry been so loyal to this place up until now and had one bad experience.

This is not the be all end all of Greek cuisine but it does really well for what it is. Decent fast Greek food. WAY better than what you get, say, in the mall but not as good as a good mom and pop place. The salad is particularly good and has a sweet non traditional dressing (as told to me by a friend who's picky about salads) the gyro platter and sandwich were both really good as well. So yeah don't expect to be blown away but it's a great option if you win the area and want something fast and good.

Wandered in here after shopping at Lowe's and boy was I glad we did! I thought the food was fantastic. The Gyro meat can compete with anything you find in Tarpon Springs, the pita was fresh and crispy and the veggies in the salad were super fresh as well. The Ceasar dressing was very good, lots of flavor. Portion size was good, we both ate our left overs for dinner. It's super casual and priced well, not cheap but fine for what you get. All of their desserts come from Hella's bakery so you know they are delicious and also pretty to look at. It was hard to get out of there without one! I'll be back

I try to make it to the Hungry Greek on Tuesdays for a five dollar Gyro. It is packed solid with meat and tzatziki and onions, and really is a pretty good Gyro for five bucks. I have also has the Falafel and it has a good spice, but not as good as the Gyro. Try em out! It's five bones well spent!

I think the food is ok, just ok, my issue is that the young worker who was wearing plastic gloves was throwing away trash and cleaning tables and dragging his hands along the countertop with the gloves on and then going to touch someones food with out changing them!!! DUH? The gloves are to protect the customers not keep your hands from getting dirty while you are working. Stupid. And I will never eat there again. These food chain owners need to tell the kids to change the gloves before touching tables, money and food!

  • Anne S.

The food was amazing! The BEST falafel I have ever had. Moist and crisp without being greasy. The gyro eat was fresh nd so flavorful. The only thing keeping it from gettiing 5 stars is their tazaziki sauce needs more flavor. I will be back to try more deliciousness.

Yummy! I got the Hungry Pita with Falafel and a Greek Salad--it was delish, I'm no falafel expert, but these had great flavor with nice crunch on the outside. The accompanying salad was huge and fresh! Well done!

We've gone back to this restaurant about once a month or so. I've continued to get the pastitsio every time, and the quality has definitely gone down. The first time, one side of the noodles were hardened. In recent visits, I've had more and more of the dish come out rock hard. Generally, two whole sides are overcooked. Last time, the entire bottom was overcooked, as were the sides. The portion size is still generous, but with about half of the dish unedible, it's not as generous as what it seems. I'm beginning to rethink my interest in this place. Maybe I'll just start getting the gyros, and hold off on the Pastitsio until I can go to Mykonos or Costas.

From a Greek: not bad for Greek fast food! Kids really liked the pita bread. Avyolemono soup was good. Spinach pie almost as good as moms (but not better than my wife's !)

I've had their Gyros and think they are very good. I would recommend you guys try it. I will be coming back for more :)

I just stopped in for the first time tonight. I was craving a hummus wrap with veggies and couldn't find exactly what I was looking for on the menu so I ordered the veggie pita and asked them to add on hummus on whole wheat pita bread. The whole wheat pita was awesome, just as soft as I imagine the white pita is. Most of the time I expect a little bit firmer pita bread when ordering wheat but this one was not. My pita was loaded with shredded lettuce, but a little skimpy on the veggies and hummus. The flavors were very good, but in the future I would like to see a little more of the good stuff. Looking forward to checking out more of the menu. A falafel pita will be my next order.

Just had a Greek salad with chicken. Tastes fine, but they might want to rethink the presentation. The salad is piled on a smallish plate that makes it difficult to manage. Everything falls off the plate onto the table and the potato salad is buried down below. Ask them for the salad in a bowl to make your life easier. Good flavors, fresh salad.

Probably the best 'fast' food I've ever eaten (ok, with exception of In-N-out burger). This place is the bomb, the quality and freshness of the food stands out and the customer service is exceptional. Don't miss the lemon chicken soup or the traditional Greek salad (the mini is a meal in itself!) And the tiramisu (not Greek, but equally delicious) has the right amount of sweetness and a good dose of espresso powder on top.

first time here and I don't think I'll be back. there are far too many choices for Greek salad. I'm also leaving hungry.

Yeah that was alright. In fact that meal was on point. I walked in and ordered a fried grouper wrap on whole wheat. I had a Greek beer while waiting. I point blank asked the girl if ordering the fish was a good idea and she said a very good idea. It certainly was when I had extra tomato and Tzatziki sauce added to that wrap. I ordered a Greek salad on the side that I inhaled after I caught on as to why. The salad dressing is too damn goooood(in other words, it had a touch of the white cane devil). I could eat that same meal everyday.

We were on our way to a different greek restaurant and decided to pop in here instead. What a great move! It is excellent. We were greeted warmly and the staff helped explain the menu options. You order at the counter and the food is prepared fresh and delivered to the table. The place is immaculate. We had the chicken souvlaki platter, the gyro platter, the baked pasticio platter, and the kids chicken souvlaki platter. Each plate came with a big, fresh greek salad, with super hidden scoop of potato salad underneath. On the side came a hot plate of pita with a side of cold, creamy, cucumbery, tzatziki. There was even an option for whole wheat pita. Yummy yellow greek rice was also included. We describe this as good food-good money, as each platter was super affordable. The Budweiser was a cheap price,$1.50 a pop. The kid behind the counter was affable and friendly and even offered our daughter a yummy chocolate mousse cake treat. Highly recommended. Go eat here now.

We were in the area and just stopped in here one day. It's now become a destination for us. The gyros are SO delicious and everything is fresh. If you go on Tuesday, the gyro is only $4.99 rather than $6.99. They've got great gyros, decent chicken gyros, crispy fries, amazing Greek salads with the potato salad, and not so great soup. It was too sour for my taste buds. Stick with the gyros and salads and you won't be sorry! Also, the staff are all young, friendly guys. Such a great staff! We've made it our go to spot on Tuesdays. So see you there next Tuesday!

Gyros! Why is this not way more popular? These guys have a nice selection of gyros and sandwiches along with the delicious, oversized side salads that typically have beets and humans along with your typical fresh salad veggies. Everything here is oversized and you definitely get a lot of bang for your buck. The place is very clean, organized, and the staff is very friendly and willing to answer questions as well as make suggestions. After ordering, you take a seat and as soon as your food is ready, they bring it to you. There is a case right when you walk in with an array of pastries. I have not given into that temptation yet, but the do look really good. With the gyro being so big and delicious, I don't know if I'll ever have room for a pastry!

There are so many fast casual Greek spots in the Clearwater area and Hungry Greek just doesn't measure up to the rest. We stopped by for lunch and ordered a veggie pita, Greek salad with falafel, and dolmades. The restaurant was clean and spacious. Patrons order at the counter and food is brought to the table. The staff was nice, but service was slow. Too slow... Like "how long does it really take to make a salad" slow. The pita wasn't delivered quite as ordered and the salad was just OK. Although the falafel looked like it was previously frozen, the were pretty tasty. Unfortunately the dolmades were so bad. Unfortunate to say the least. It's a perfectly fine spot for a quick meal, but there are some other restaurants of the same genre that just do it better.

We stopped in for lunch and I asked the guy taking our order to suggest something. We ended up with chicken pitas. The chicken was a little dry, but overall it was ok. The food was fresh and the staff was friendly. I'm not sure if I will be back though. Nothing wowed me. I will admit the Greek salad looked really good as it was delivered to a table next to me.

Very good place. Friendly stuff. I would recommend gyro sandwich. You get very fast and good service. To go orders available also. I've been coming here and will come again. Im giving 4 stars to this place and to the gyro sandwich.

Not quite fast food, and not quite a full sit down restaurant. This place makes great food at affordable prices. Gyro with a side salad will leave you full, satisfied and energized. If you have more than 30 seconds for lunch head here and feel good about yourself.
