I've been here twice for take out so keep that in mind. Both times have been mediocre at best. The take out guy kept me standing at the take out booth for five minutes while he worked on something. It was kind of rude. The inside of the place looks pretty nice though. And it does have TV's at the bar area.

I really loved this place. They were so friendly and the food was so good. I ordered 2 kinds of ribs and they were both perfectly moist and tasted great! We also ordered the spinach and artichoke dip and it was so good. Overall the service and food were great! I highly recommend!

Smokey Bones looks great and is clean but the food is a little pricey for the amount of food you get. I'm not saying you don't get a lot of food, because you do; I just think its not as much as I would expect for the price. The food is good but nothing extra special. I usually get the puled pork but there's not really much flavor unless you drench it in sauce. The service is acceptable but the servers could be better. The servers are nice overall but not the best servers by any stretch of the imagination. I would say Smoky Bones is a nice place to go if you need somewhere to watch a game or your going out to dinner with family The plus side to Smokey Bones is that they have a rewards card and Sunday triples the points, My parents have about 80 dollars worth of points but you can only use 20 at at time. So the points are a great bonus, because it can get a bit pricey.

Jan Gallant from Magic Eye Communications Has Babyback Ribs At Smokey Bones in Clearwater, Florida My cousin Denise doesn't get to eat real American babyback ribs very often, since she lives in England, and they don't seem to make them there. I knew that she would want them right away upon arriving, so I took her to Smokey Bones in Clearwater, Florida. Now that's where to get those succulent, pork falling-off-the bone,11 hour long smoked babyback ribs that we all love. Their ribs are seasoned with lots of herbs, molasses, honey, brown sugar, and other 'secret' ingredients, and smoked for several hours. They are juicy and so tasty, and the pork is so tender and a little spicy, falling off the bone, just the way they should. The cole slaw is very crunchy and flavorful and taste like it's home-made. And the fries were outstanding. The menu is full of a variety of delicious flavored ribs, enormous mouth-watering burgers, and southwestern entrees. We just might have to return for another rack before she leaves for England!

Very crowded but wait staff was quick and awesome. Food was good. I would return based upon this review.

This place seems to keep re-inventing itself. I hadn't been there in over a year and it seemed totally different this time. The food is very good -- what I would call upscale BBQ. Definitely a step up from Sonys BBQ. I had no complaints with the menu or the food quality. However, I found the prices to be a bit high. Most meals were $13 or more. That's kind of high for BBQ and I'm not sure how they justify those prices. To make matters worse, the portions were pretty darn small. After splitting a $10 appetizer and having my $13 meal -- I still was not stuffed by any means. So I think this place is good --- if someone else is paying...

We like coming to this restaurant when we come to Florida. The service is always good and they have a great selection of food on the menu for everyone in our group. Yes it is a chain, but they never disappoint. The smoked turkey and sweet tea is the best! We will recommend this and keep coming back.

Mostly, pretty good food. We eat there often.

I have wanted to like this place so much. Today was the third time that I told my wife to remind me of how disappointed we feel leaving the restaurant each time we stop here. The service was better today but the nachos my wife ordered were cold. Also, found 3 hairs in my fries this time. Will not make this same mistake again.

Whenever we go to Smokey Bones we always sit at the bar. The food is always good and the service is decent, but can definitely be improved (sometimes we have to wait too long to get the bartender/waitress's attention). Once in a while my bf and I get a craving for Smokey Bones; he for the coleslaw and Cuban sandwich, while I crave for the wings and pulled pork. We both like the Bones Brew. Can't beat a huge glass (maybe 22 oz?) for so cheap (I can't remember how much but it's definitely under $5). I also love the 4 types of bbq sauces that are always at every table. My favorite is the spicy one. I drench my food in it. With so many TVs, full bar and its own beer that's sold so cheaply, Smokey Bones is definitely a great place for game day. Oh, and I believe it opens until 2am so it's a perfect place for late night bbq cravings.

Ah Smokey Bones, gotta love it. I'm a huge BBQ fan and while I will say this isn't the most 'unique' or authentic place I've been too, they never disappoint on BBQ or ice cold drinks. One of my favorite things to order is the loaded baked potato and salad combo. The salad choices are either caesar or house salad and both are really fresh and delicious. The loaded baked potato is piled up with cheese, green onions, scallions and brisket or pulled pork (they'll also substitute chicken if you ask). Sometimes the brisket is a little bit fatty, which is kind of a downer, but that's just how brisket is. They also have great drink specials daily as well as late night specials on wings and other plates. The service is quick and friendly, although be prepared to wait if you go on a weekend night as it's usually pretty busy and as a bonus I get $5 off email coupons on a regular basis just by joining their club. I'm a fan!

I ordered the 1/3 slab of baby back ribs along with a Caesar salad and French fries...all of my food was good and the ribs were falling off the bones. We were busting but if try this place again if I'm in the area or if I come across another one.

1st time here from Texas and the Hooters waitress recommended this place. The food tasted great. Loved that there is a BBQ Sauce Legend to explain them all. 1st off the smoked chicken wings are the shit! They recommend the pulled pork and smoked turkey and it did not disappoint. The only thing I didn't like about the turkey was I got a fatty piece. The smoked sausage was ok. Chicken Alfredo was good. Hot wings were hot but good! The waitress was really friendly, service was a little but was able to overlook that cuz of good service.

Can I ask everyone a honest question? Did this place used to be really good? The early reviews indicate it. A few people said it was really good. It was recommended to me on more then one occasion. Atmosphere wise I like it. The food is not doing it for me. My girlfriend ordered pork tenderloin. I never tried anything so dry in my entire life. My burger was just as eventful. The burger roll was old and stale. My fries tasted like they were cooked hours before then quickly reheated. The burger overall lacked flavor and it had to be sitting in the window for awhile. It was cooked Medium instead of the Medium Rare. It was no where near juicy. I kind of feel like we went when no one in the kitchen cared about the product they put out.

I chose the make your own burger option and chose a 1lb angus burger on a pretzel bun with all the regular trimmings plus grilled onions it came out marvelous. It also came with a side of onion rings which were great and super crunchy. For my friends though we found the nachos were terrible the wings generic the ribs dry. Overall just a meh experience but at least I had a sweet burger if not excessively greasy. Id say if your just looking to watch a game on Sunday and hang this place will fit the bill. Similar to bdubs.

Horrible food, burgers were cold nachos had no cheese. Service sucks go to 5 Guys next door if you want a real burger. Will never eat here again

We like coming here for drinks and snacks but the dinners are definitely subpar. The smoked wiings are the hubbys fav, I'm hooked on the nachos with shredded chicken. ENough for two though so make sure you have someone to share with. Dinner when we tried was uninpressive with the thinest steak we've ever seen and ribs that were overcooked. Stick to drinks at the bar area and snacks and you'll do well. They do have awesome drink specials!!

Definitely not worth the calories. Food was salty and chicken chili was cold and sloppy. Definitely not the experience I remembered from years past

Love the food. But the foreplay waiting to be seated is not much to my liking. Always the wait is at least 35 minutes. What to eat. Appetizers are ok but very much to tgiFridays. As for meals eat ribs. The broccoli is the bomb!!! That's it!!

  • Beth S.

As far as bar food goes, this place is great. Lots of fried yumminess and pretty straightforward bbq. It's not exactly a place I go to specificially eat bbq but it's great for drinking beer and watching sports. The appetizers they offer range from standard chips and dip to savory fried corn dogs with a sweet and tangy honey mustard for dipping. They have great wings with tons of different sauces. The place is packed with tvs and the service is usually pretty spot on. Their desserts are out of this world delicious and quite guilt inducing. I'm not saying Smokey Bones is any sort of culinary mecca but it is perfect for what it is: bbq, beer, and sports.

  • Frank R.

This place is pretty decent I liked the wings a lot. the salmon i got was not cooked that great but sent it back. no fault to their own. I much prefer it slow cooked than smoked so it doesn't dry out. When I received it back it was much better.I would and plan to go again. remember to order the smoked wings! for what u get the prices are good. many different sauces.

Ordered 2 salads chicken Caesar and a steak with spinach. The salds had little to no dressing on the chicken or steak and greens. The croutons were stale and tasted horrible. I will never return to smokey bones over priced.

This is a nice place to get some BBQ. You must try their donuts. They are made fresh for you and put in a brown paper bag.

Food here is either hit or miss. I have been here a couple of times and it seemed better this time than previous times. Staff was on the ball and the food came out correctly and cooked to order this time (last time I got someone else food, which they then took to their table).

We arrived at Smokey Bones at 11:30am had to wait for 10 minutes to be seated because the servers were not ready the other customer were also getting a little put out. When finally seated we noticed the music they were playing was rap music now all the customers that were there at that time were 50's and much older not the kind of music you would expect for a family restaurant just my opinion. After the waitress took our order it was 15 or 20 minutes before we got our food and they were not that many customers and they had also ordered and was waiting for their food. It is a good place to go for barbecue could use some improving.

Whenever I am vacationing in Clearwater Smokey Bones is a must stop. The barbecue pulled pork and ribs are outstanding. The staff is friendly and diligent. Nice sports bar type atmosphere many different games going on. Recommend highly.

I wish I got the smoked wings. I got the breaded, thinking I was going to be on a roll of breaded chicken wing luck. But no. Skip the breaded wings.... Ribs are great...the double trouble is good....skip the caesar (I mean, my bad for ordering a salad at a BBQ joint), brisket is great specially if u get fatty bits.... Only order the beans if u like suuuuper super sweet beans....I like sweet stuff but I would skip those

One of the best late night place around. Non judgmental and fun. They have great specials for food and drinks. The pretzels are good and southwest eggrolls are good but the wings are GREAT! They have different daily specials and the staff is not overly friendly. The server I had, Alec, was very good and very professional.

We travel to Clearwater every year. This is a must stop, at least once., Sometimes twice. Super BBQ. Steak salad is superb too. Chicken is my fav though. Being from Kansas City should tell you something, we know our BBQ and smokey bones does too.

Great BBQ restaurant in the Clearwater area. I was greeted at the door by the hostess and was asked if I wanted to sit at the bar or a table. I opted for the bar as suggested by the hostess, for shorter wait times. I sat at the bar, typical BBQ bar joint type bar. Service was vey prompt and the waitstaff and bartender offered great customer service. I had the ribs, chicken, and sausage combo. This combo was so good I came back and had the same thing the night before leaving FL. All in all good service and good food.

We go here a lot, but the prices keeping going up! Really who is gonna pay $17 for wings?? Hit or miss with the food. Sometime it's excellent and sometimes it sucks. Draft beer is warm. Not sure why they won't make it colder! It is 90 degrees outside and trust me your customers want COLD beer. It is so close to our house and we keep hoping things will change.

Excellent food and service... Drinks are good too... I loved the St. Louis style ribs and they had the best smoked chicken wings I had ever tasted this place is one of my favorites

Head a great late lunch here the other day. I got the pulled pork and my boyfriend had the chicken pasta. We were both very pleased with the taste and portion. Our waiter was awesome and told us about the four bbq sauces that you can mix and match. Yellow and green were my favorite. Seems like a good place for late night or drinks and a game.

We have been coming here since they opened years ago. Never again. First complaint: We arrived on a Thursday at 5 p.m. and asked to sit on the patio. We were told there would be a wait - when we have never had to wait for patio seating before which is why we usually choose to sit there. I asked why we had to wait when we had entered from the patio and it was virtually empty but full of tables that needed to be cleaned. The hostess looked confused and said they couldn't seat us until the tables were clean and the wait would be 15-20 minutes. After 20 minutes we returned to the podium and asked how much longer we were going to have to wait. The same hostess informed us that they just cleared the tables and someone took us back to the patio. We passed a table on the way to the patio that asked if we were seating on the patio and we told them yes. They replied that they asked for patio seating and were told they weren't seating on the patio. We get to our table only to find every table that was a mess when we arrived were NOT cleaned off - so there was no reason for us to have waited 20 minutes. I asked to speak to the manager. Several tables were seated after us and their drink orders were taken and their appetizers were delivered before our drinks arrived. The manager delivered our meals and was unaware that I asked to speak to him. I asked him to return after our meal - never saw him again. Second complaint: 2 weeks after that incident we went back on a beautiful Sunday around 2 p.m. We again asked for the patio and were told the patio wasn't open despite there being other customers out there. I asked for a manager and a different gentleman from before arrived. I began to explain the complaints from our last visit and he cut me short where I didn't get to explain everything to him. He advised that he had NO servers scheduled on the patio and that we could sit out there but that we would have to wait 45 minutes. For what? To order? To get our food? This manager was rude and condescending and acting like he was doing US a favor by not seating us on the patio. Like the other reviewer below - I advised him that we have been patrons for years and we wouldn't be back. He told us to have a nice day or something to that effect. I contacted their corporate office and was advised that their manager couldn't make us happy and they were sad to see us leave but they respected our decision. No offer to fix the situation and they didn't address how rude their manager was or why there was no staff sheduled for the patio. I wrote a reply to their corporate response and have never heard back.

I actually went back a day or two after writing that review, the salad I used to get was their "log salad" it was bomb, and they stopped making it. D':

My first time back since they changed their menu and I enjoyed it. I love the stacked baked potato and salad meal - their Caesar salad is delicious. It's very filling. I also had the Blush Sangria, one of their Signature drinks. It was perfect. I am used to having red wine sangria and this was a nice change. The only reason I did not give them 5-stars is because I took an order of their Hot Bag O' Donuts home and they were over-cooked, just about burnt. Next time I'll have to check them. Other than that, it's a nice location, clean, not far from my house, and a great time!

This is our go to place when we want some casual dining. But this last trip left me looking for a new hangout. We we seated and a ordered appetizers as normal. The dry rub wings are a perfect starter. They came out quick and piping hot. Then things fell apart. Our server rarely checked back with us. We went more than ten minutes with an empty glass. Then we waited, and waited and waited for our food to come. After 25 minutes, we asked about the status of our food, and the server assured us that the food was being plated. Another ten minutes go by until it makes it to our table. Diner 1 had the Bone in steak, that was dry and burnt, The veggies were fresh, but the potatoes had been sitting in the window for several minutes. Diner 2 had the Asiago Chicken Penne, It was light on the sauce and dry and tasteless. Our waiter again disappeared, I was ready to go refill my glass at the wait station because it'd been so long without a refill. The portions are getting smaller and the prices are creeping up, it's time to dump the servers that aren't making the grade. When we called later to complain about our service/experience, we were assured we'd hear from a manager in a timely manner. We never have.

We had a business lunch here. The food was OK and the servers were friendly but I feel they have the music a bit too loud in there

I ordered a California turkey burger $9.79 (fries are an additional .99). What I got was a previously frozen processed turkey burger that was something I would expect to get at McDonald's. Our server noticed I didn't eat it, and when I told her I was disgusted with it she rightfully took it off my bill. The service was good, but I wouldn't go back to try anything else there. $10 is even a lot to pay for a good hamburger, but one so disgusting as that one was I wouldn't have eaten it for free.

The food is consistently good at any of the franchise locations. The problem here was the service and lack of organization. Dirty tables that remained dirty for the duration of our experience, the lines of people waiting, the server who seemed uninterested in serving and who got defensive when my husband asked if his beef brisket was supposed to still be in the plastic bag on his dish..... yep that about sums up that nightmare..I mean dining experience.

I used to take my family here on a regular basis. My wife absolutely loved their baby backs! Unfortunately the last 2 times we went completely ruined everything. The first incident was just a cluster from the get go. We were greeted at our table by a server guy who announced that he was new. He then took 22 minutes to bring us our drinks. (iced tea and sprite) My wife then ordered for the kids and then for herself. The normal baby back full rack ( 1/2 for now 1/2 for next days lunch). At that point the server walked away without even asking me what I wanted! My wife called him back over and told him he forgot MY order. He looked at her and said, " Oh! You're going to eat the whole rack all by yourself?" Really dude? It's baby backs, not half a cow! Anyway, I placed my order and the food didn't take too long to arrive and tasted ok. Upon receiving the check and my paying with my credit card, The server came back with the ticket to sign and I noticed that he rounded up the bill when charging my card. Not like an automatic tip. He rounded up our bill to the nearest dollar and then I was supposed to add a tip and sign. Not cool! When I mentioned this to him, he said, "It's not even a dollar". Really????!!!!! The second incident was a take out order. The ribs were literally raw and since we had already gotten all the way home. I called to tell them and the take out lady put me on eternal hold. "looking for the manager" maybe he was in the bathroom , sick with Salmonella!

Now, this is what good BBQ should taste like! Ranch bunkhouse setting in shopping center leaves a little to be desired, but it is all about the food. Atmosphere 80 (For the inside of the restaurant) Service 90 ( Very caring, at least our guy) Food 90 ( For the ribs and smoked turkey dinners) Value 85 (A rare treat .... really good food for a fair price) Try it, you will like it !

This place is located in the same complex of Target, Costco, Lowes, Starbucks and etc. They have a really good location. There were a lot of people at the time of our arrival and we had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated. Our server was nice and prompt. I ordered BBQ pulled pork and it was not bad but nothing special. It does come in a big portion for a very reasonable price. If you want to have a decent BBQ at a cheap price, watching TV then this place is a good option.

    (3)
  • Valarie G.

Large restaurant and decent BBQ. The service could use some help as our waitress seemed overwhelmed and we had to keep asking for refills. We also had to ask for the sides we ordered as they did not initially come out from the kitchen and they took a while to show up. Overall it was not bad but I was not impressed.

I used to really like this place, but I think they got new management about a year order ago and they seem to have changed some recipes and quantities of food. The ambiance is really nice, full bar, lots of TVs playing lots of sports, lots of beer which you can never be mad about. Service has always been very good when I'm there. I would give the food a 3 service a 4 and ambiance a 4.

  • Alex O.

Much more Expensive than what I would have imagined and burger was raw on the inside when I asked for "well done." I never send food back because I'm paranoid of what they might do to it so I just ate the fries for dinner and nuked the burger when I got home. I gave the place two stars because the inside was like a paradise for drinking and watching games on their numerous flat screens. Not sure if they had a new cook or what but I doubt I'll ever eat here ever again. Slow service for us as well... Inside was like 60 degrees...We were freezing the entire time we were there. Server was nice though

Solid barbecue joint in the Clearwater Gulf-to-Bay, US-19 shopping center. Tender and flavorful ribs with multiple sauces tableside to choose from. Hearty portions, even for an appetizer size portion of pulled pork mini burgers. May not be authentically-made barbecue (is it a chain?), but you can't go wrong with anything here. I think they even have a frequent diner's club where you can get specials since some people in our dining group got some membership card here. Huge space with lots of room for big groups. Service while spacey is pretty attentive.

  • Stacy P.

This place was packed on a Saturday night. The prices are high and the wait to get in was incredible...but I was able to make a delicious vegetarian meal (although pricey). It was a friend's birthday so I didn't get to choose the place. A restaurant chain being to make vegan or vegetarian options is quite rare. So this place gets some thumbs up from me.

  • Tara F.

I agree with most of the reviews i read. As far as bbq goes i think you can get better and cheaper at sonny's if u want a chain. the ribs are way over sauced probably to compensate for how dry and tasteless the meat is. The brisket tastes like it was cut three days before you ordered it and sat waiting for you to come by. Chicken sandwich wasn't bad but nothing you couldn't find at a fast food place. I will say the smoked wings are pretty tasty and their "chips" i forget what they are called but they are mighty tasty as well. The service is always decent too but i've always sat in the bar area so dunno about the rest of the place. over all if you wanna hang out with friends have some drinks and watch some interesting trivia on the bar tv's its great...if you want good bbq keep it moving.

For a chain, this place serves some decent food. I've been here several times - first review though - and I can honestly say out of everything I have had, only one item fell short of great which was one of the new flatbreads. They also do really great drink specials on almost any night and they have a decent sized bar which stays open fairly late most nights.

I ordered St. Louis Ribs-FullRack, when I got them they were VERY tough- even the barternder said they should not be so tough. She asked me if I would rather have Baby Back Ribs- o.k. fine, 45 minutes after I first walked into the restaurant I finally got my food. After I was finished eating I went to the restroom (my drink and plate was still on the bar where I had been sitting) to wash my hands and when I came back one of your off-duty employees (T.J) had decided to take over my spot. He was not in my chair but had his drinks and news paper where my drink and plate HAD been! I sat down and T.J. told "Hey, someone's sitting there" i said "yeh, I am - for the last hour". T.J. had obviously been drinking and he and his friend ( I don't know the friends name) started making snide comments about me taking HIS chair!!! I'm just sitting here waiting for my check so I can pay for my dinner having to listen to your drunk employee give me crap about "his chair" for 10 minutes until the bartender finally brought my check!!! At one point T.J. reached for his newspaper which was on the bar in front of me and almost brushed my face with his arm- like he was trying to provoke a fight!!! Then as I was leaving "I said here, now you can have the chair"- Your emploee, T.J. called me an asshole! Really glad I came to Smokey Bones on Christmas Day! I didn't realize this place was a chain. This place is not too bad. I can't really complain. Food was A-ok. Service was good. I really enjoyed reading their philosphies posted throughout the restaurant. Really fun to read. They do offer Wi-Fi- which is great! The deal we had was pretty good. I think it was $10 for your selection of 2 types of meat and 2 side orders. Good portion!

Lotsa food for $13...ordered 2 combo chicken n ribs... enough for dinner again! Waiters n waitresses tag team so service good. Sides need a little umf... to set them apart for other bbq joints in area...small in dining area during lunch was packed.

We used to go here all the time when I was living in Clearwater and it is a fun place. It's a chain but i would say it is probably the best BBQ you're going to get in the Tampa Bay area. I tried a pretty much everything on the menu and what I quickly realized is you *have* to order the baby back ribs. Anything else is average to below average but the babybacks are out of this world. The bar is also a cool place to chill out and watch a game. For desert, get the donuts!

I am a big fan of their st. louis style ribs, the nachos, and the sports bar atmosphere. a good place to eat and catch a game.

We were in Clearwater beach this past weekend for the IronMan and ate here after the comp to splurge on calories and it was so worth it that we went back the next day for lunch! The prices were amazing, the food even more amazing and the beer and mixed drinks were delicious! My table of eaters all ordered the 2 favorites meal for $9.99, a ginormous beer for $2.50 and a fancy drink for only $6 (def no shortage on the tequila)...we were so stuffed and "sauced" that I can't wait to go back to Florida so that we can visit Smokey Bones' again. The waiters were all very friendly and attentative, but seating took a while (it's pretty poppin) and we didn't get to sit with our full party, we were separated. They were also a bit slow on special requests, so I have to minus them one star. I'm from Cali...we love the BBQ, but sadly we have no Smokey's near us...my mouth is watering. Time to go back!!!

Smokey Bones looked like one of those typical chain restaurants from the outside, and felt like the bastard child of a Hooter's and Lonestar inside. Our hostess was very nice and seated us promptly for a late lunch. The air conditioning had to have been set on 60 though because despite asking 3 times we never got rid of our goosebumps. Our Waitress was horrible, easily one of the worst I've had. She only had 3 tables and managed to forget to bring us silverware... twice. I ordered a Sam Adams from tap and it came in a frozen pint glass. I should have expected that in this type of restaurant but didn't think to mention to bring mine sans ice. One day Americans, especially the uneducated beer drinkers of the south, will realize that you NEVER serve beer in a frosted glass. The Burger I ordered was there house specialty. It's called the Smokehouse burger, although there wasn't the faintest hint of any type of smoke. The fries were decent, but the burger was flavorless. I would have to go back for a second try to try some of their BBQ, but I've never heard anyone rave about Florida BBQ.

The food was just OK for the price, and the portions are on the small side. I WAS NOT WOWED AT ALL. I would say there are a lot better places such as, Sonny's or Pit Boss that taste better and are a way better value. I will not be going back. In this economy and with the large choice of restaurants, I wonder how this place stays in business.

Jeana (Gina?) and Michelle - What a wonderful couple of people! So it was 1:20am, and we hadn't really had dinner - so we thought we'd grab some wings. A couple of the other wings places had just closed, so we called Smokey Bones and got a very pleasant Jeana on the phone, who told us to come on down to either pick up food or eat in (they closed at 2am, but she still invited us to sit down). We ordered garlic buffalo wings for my wife, and I had a 1/4 barbecue chicken with fire roasted corn. When we got there, the food came out a minute later - We sat at the bar where Michelle took care of us - What a nice, friendly person! My wife enjoyed the wings, and I had one or two myself - I don't like buffalo sauce, but these wings were still very tasty. My chicken was okay - Great flavor in the skin, but didn't enjoy the meat as much - it was tender and nice, I just may not have enjoyed the specific type of sauce that permeated through. The corn was very good - a different flavor, and you could tell it was really on the grill. Jeana came out later and greeted us, and told my wife that she felt bad after we hung up the first time we called that she didn't take our order down so it would be ready when we arrived (we called twice to see if it was open, then later to order)!! It was too much - Granted it was 20minutes to closing, and almost 2am, but these two took care of us as if we were the first people to ever come in the restaurant. And after all that, they didn't rush us once to leave. While the food was good, we would come back because Jeana and Michelle made it such a wonderful experience - Thank you both!

It's packed every time I come here. I do not understand the fuss. The food is just OK. The takeout service is terrible, which is why I'm giving it 2 stars. I come here frequently because it's close. Every time I come here I have to wait 5 minutes just for the takeout person. 4 servers will go to the takeout station before I get to see the takeout server and they never offer to place my order or grab the appropriate person.

Not a bad place. It's a step-up from joints like Chili's and Applebee's (Although, I guess that's not saying much). The food is pretty good, and the atmosphere is chill. They've got a few TVs around the perimeter of the ceiling, and there's a speaker at each table which can be tuned to whatever TV you'd like to watch.

I'd been meaning to try one of these BBQ chain stops as I've seen a lot of them around the East coast. The inside was nice (albeit very 'chain like' and we were seated promptly. Service was average. The food was a bit of a disappointment. I had a rib combo. The babyback ribs were amongst the smallest I'd ever had. And they only had the option of wet ribs...no dry rubs. The sauce wasn't all that great either. The pulled pork that I got with the combo was pretty good though and I would have loved to have more of that but alas (yes I just said that) there wasn't much of that either. Based on the size of their ribs and the serving size of their pulled pork, I'm picturing a farm with baby miniature toy pigs running around. Overall, the place wasn't terrible but if you live in the South you have SOOOOOO many better options. Going here if you live in FL, NC, GA, SC is like going to a Red Lobster in Maine.

Great Baby Back Ribs. Their baked beans are delicious. My kids love to eat here but is a little expensive for 4 people every week. Just a once every couple of months for us. Wait staff is so-so never had real bad of great service. If you like ribs I would give it a try.

Was my first time here, and I was excited because I heard nothing but good things. The wait was decent for having 30 people walk in all at once. Once seated, it took a few minutes for server to get our drinks, but he was very friendly! Heard great things about the brisket, so that is what my other half got. I ordered the baby back ribs with a loaded potato, no sour cream or chives, with a soup as my other side, which I asked for before my meal. I noticed our server was busy, bc he dodnt bring our food, but he looked to be keeping up, but I never got my soup. Then dinner arrives, and my potato has everything on it, sent it back and it came plain?! Really!? Then my other half asked for no chives, this one had EXTRA! his brisket was chewy, fatty, and not edible! My ribs were DISGUSTING! no meat at all, what was there was dry, and over smoked! We are not complainers but when I received a 40$ bill with plates still full, I asked for a manager. We told the manager our problem and said bc of this we pokey won't be back, his response was ok! Really, ok!? Had to complain more to not pay for my meal! RE-GOD-DAM-DICILIOUS! Told them we would not return, they didn't care! Save yourself the wasted trip! Go to Boston market there brisket is WAY better! Can't even give this place one star, but i had to, to submit my review! Sad! :(

The food was great and so was the service. Our waitress Bailey was awesome. She was able to help give us recommendations on the food selections, checked on us often and was really nice. I ordered the West Coast Club and my friend ordered the chicken fingers. The food was delicious.

I would give it a four for the food - it's exceptional when they get it right - a four for the friendliness of the staff, however my order is ALWAYS wrong when I go here. Every time I go, my order is messed up, and I don't end up getting what I really want. Last time I went, I had to wait about 40 minutes for my food, and the time before that, I had to wait over an hour for my food, with only an apology at the end of it. As much as I crave some of their specialties, like their delicious skillet cornbread, I don't think I'll be going back.

Been here several times, and I have never had a bad meal, (except when I ordered that bison burger, and that experience was all my fault). Whether you stop in for a cold drink & appetizer, or bring seven generations of kin for dinner, you'll always have a great meal. They offer quite the selection of meal choices, and they always serve it to you with a smile.

This place was packed! It was fast, had great service and a large menu selection. The food was decent but wasn't fantastic. The jalepenos weren't spicy and they up charge you on sides and have electronic games on the table to trick you into a few dollars extra.

So I was SO excited for my pulled chicken chopped salad which is one of my favorites. I love the pecans the dressing the artichoke, yum! Only this time the lettuce was BROWN the chicken was FAT AND CARTILAGE. There were NO PECANS. I couldn't even eat it. It was literally the worst meal I have had in quite some time. Very very disappointing I will never ever order from there again:( what a waste of 12 bucks!

I don't go to Smokey's much during the day, I am normally an after ten goer. They have a good late night menu, and if you go Monday they have cheaper beer pitchers and all you can eat wings. The Memphis dry rubbed songs are amazing. Everything I have tried is pretty delicious, the loaded nachos are great for sharing! They have a full bar, but the drinks are a little pricey. Service is good too :)

It's always a pleasurable experience here. Upbeat atmosphere, quick and enjoyable service, and very delicious food. We had a Pulled Chicken Salad that was loaded and BLT Burger that was huge, fresh and tasty (along with just-right fries.) Since it's Friday, we hopped on some doughnuts for dessert. Excellent all the way!!

I love the food here even if it is really sugary, processed and full of GMO produce. I assume this because no where does it say anything on the menu is organic. My husband and I love, love, love the spinach and steak salad! Unfortunately they stopped adding the yummy, incredibly delicious fried mushrooms in the salad and replaced them with cooked Shitake mushrooms. It's still our favorite but the switch definitely took it down a couple of notches.

Call me a tourist, but I loved this place! It's barely a five-star, but I have to give it to them for "wow"ing me several times. The entire experience was great and we loved all the food. Nice job! As the waiter explained, they specialize in the slow-cooked BBQ meats. We had ribs, roasted corn, smokehouse chicken sandwich, sweet potato fries, Mac & Cheese, and a pulled chicken salad. The last one was a little weird, but everything else was top notch. The specialty drinks (Irish pirate and cherry cream) were not very strong (as is common for full-bar restaurants), but otherwise well-crafted. I give props to the wait staff and the hostesses for all being very friendly. They joked and chatted with us, and made sure we were well tended-to. The music was a little loud for my mom's comfort (we all thought it was fine), BUT when she requested, they turned it down no problem. My sandwich was a little dry, BUT there's a stash of flavored BBQ sauces at the table! We had never seen a 'bones bag' brought to the table for our remnants before- very creative. The place was well decorated (done up nice for Xmas, and the staff had Santa hats). More TVs than you can shake a stick at. Good work, folks. Keep it up!

This place is amazing! The building itself looks like a log cabin and you can smell the meats smoking from the parking lot. They have the best fried pickles I've ever had, which is saying a lot because I've had fried pickles from many different places! They also have the best sangria I've ever had. Their strawberry sangria is absolutely killer. The Brunswick stew is also delicious, with chucks of BBQ pork and corn. They also have a selection of four house made barbecue sauces. They are all delicious and I must admit I mixed three of them together on my pulled pork sandwich. Theirs Mac and cheese is also delicious! You can get it as a side or an entree.(the entrees have different meats and sauces and there are four different ones to choose from). The service was also a TEN! Out waitress was very attentive and I saw a manager bussing tables to help out! So awesome! We will definitely be back!

It is a chain yes but I have never been disappointed by this Smokey Bones or even the one that was close to UCF. Consistency from one location to another is definitely admirable! I love, love, love their beef brisket!! And all their sides are cooked to perfection. On my recent visit, I ordered their four cheese mac n cheese with toppings of carmelized onions, pepper jack and pulled pork. Omg, say no more!!! It was perfect and just the right serving. Justin ordered the turkey and his, too, was awesome. Out of the sauces, we both said we liked the Carolina Mopping sauce the best! For less heat, the KC option was a fine choice as well. I'm part of their Bones Club so I will definitely be coming back for me!

Monday-All You Can Eat Wing Night. $10.99 The wings are so meaty and the fried winGS, so crispy!!! There's a small tablet on each table that allows you to order additional food&drinks and check your bill. for $1.99 you can play games. Some with other random cuatomers in the restaurant. Very fun!

About the service: I came in about 2p on a Sunday just to check out their menu. No hostess to be seen, customers waiting looking annoyed. Once I finally got a menu I decided to come back for dinner. Dinner is when the all star servers were working and I was very well taken care of. About the food: the apps my bf and I had were awesome. Cornbread and cheese fries yum yum. The entrées were a different story. salmon, brisket, chix, and mac and cheese, all extremely dry, had to drench everything in BBQ sauce. Also very pricey for mediocrity. Come for the apps, look elsewhere for your entrees.

At times if you go to a restaurant and give a complimentary comment to the server, from the very beginning of service, you may just get better care and that is just about true about any customer service. However, that works in reverse many times also. The reviews I see, are mostly unfavorable. In fact, it shows struggle and not smoothness and power on that part of this chain. The company means well, but needs encouragement and a push to achieve like a store such as Perkins across the way. Even area organic food stores which command top dollar for their offerings, sometimes need help. Ashlee Young, is an example of one who is endeavoring to do her part for "Bones" and she gives a command performance. She set out a crisp bones bag and squared off the creases. Moreover, smiling, she placed our drinks and made sure that replacements arrived on time during the night. My wife and I felt assured. Sometimes, it's all in the motion, "aviance" that can make a customer's visit into a great one. I really enjoyed my meal choice of an over-sized hamburger, crowned with Swiss cheese, mushrooms and bacon. Nevertheless, that is why under freedom of rights and pursuit of happiness, we can make a better world. By the way, several classmates in Design I class at SPC have helped me, so let's "pass it forward!" Let's look beyond the now and seek "that which can be" It is not right to squash another's hopes, dreams and well-being. So let's uplift our brother and sister and go on. Came here with the grandparents, mom and the girlfriend for a vacation meal. I got the brisket and the ribs. It was a huge portion. Also tried some of my Granddad's Wings and some of my grandmother's Grilled Salmon. The unfortunate part of the meal was the service. The kitchen smoked my Grandma's salmon and she had to wait 20 minutes for the Grilled Salmon. This wasn't our waiter's fault as he entered it correctly. Seems like quite the hangout/ bar place in the evening.

Service was excellent. It always is! I've eaten here twice in the last 3 months. I've had dinner and lunch. In the last 3 months I am the second person to get extremely ill on the food about a hour later. He was sick on the ribs and I am now sick on the burgers. Missing work and all. Def something wrong here! I will not be eating here again.

We haven't been here in over a year mostly because of their over-pricing. However, we were temped back due to a coupon. Yes, we're cheapskates. As we were seated, we noticed that their menu had changed again but that is NOT a bad thing. Very few restaurants adjust the menu to accommodate their patrons. We started with a cup of Brunswick stew and a house salad. The stew is awesome here and the salad was just OK. I'm 'old school' and wish they had Thousand Island dressing as an option. Oh, well. We then both ordered the combo platters with 1/4 BBQ chicken(white meat) on both and sausage and and brisket, respectively. BBQ chicken is one of the better things they do. It's always moist. The sausage and the brisket were above average, too. After living in Texas, it's tough to find a restaurant in the Tampa Bay area that serves BBQ brisket and I miss it. If you like baked potatoes, be sure and get the loaded bp here! Also, the baked beans are very good. I'm very glad that we were prompted by the coupon we got in the mail and revisited this restaurant. I still don't think that we'll get one of their $13 hamburgers again but if you stick with the BBQ, you won't go too far wrong!

We hare not huge BBQ fans so I have avoided dining here. Big mistake! We finally gave it a chance due to a $10.00 off coupon and I have to say I'm really glad we did. They have tons of non BBQ food. He went with the garlic Ribeye, rare with a red wine mushroom sauce on the side, which the server recommended. It was perfectly cooked, seared on the outside but cool in the center. It was one of the better steaks we've had in a long time. He got coleslaw and mashed as his sides, both good but the coleslaw was noticeably fresh. The red wine mushroom sauce? I would eat my shoe if it had that shit on it. So freakin good! I ordered the brisket sandwich and the server mentioned that they have a prime rib sandwich that's new and not on the menu yet, so I went with that instead. It was shaved Philly style and came loaded with onions, peppers and cheese. The bun was perfectly toasted so the edges were perfectly crunchy. The steak was seasoned and moist. This was also a monster size sandwich for $9.99 and I ate off of it twice and gave some to the dog. I thought it was a great value. The only thing that fell flat was the fried pickle app we got. I thought there was way too much breading and the ranch dressing that was served with them was runny and full of dill. We got a new dressing that was colder so it was less runny but I still found it to be dill over load. I would skip this appetizer. The place was very clean and our server could not have done a better job. I think her name may have been Caitlyn? I thought the prices were very fair considering the quality and quantity of the food. I will definitely return!

This place has great chicken wings! They offer them naked (not breaded) and your choice of over 10 sauces. I had the sweet and tangy and it was delicious. I would have liked extra sauce on the side because there wasn't much on the wings. The fish and chips dish (I only tried the fish) was outstanding; juicy, beer-battered, and a generous portion. The onion rings we're huge and delicious, probably the best I have ever had. Order the side, it's generous and less expensive than the appetizer. Ambiance was what I expected from a chain but the food and wait staff made up for that.

Sometimes you just want barbecue. Smokey Bones is usually good and on this Father's Day, not terribly busy. We were seated after just a brief wait and then waited in our booth some more and then some more after that. We were given plenty of time to pursue the menu and check out the drinks menu. That menu came to us literally dripping wet which help us wipe down the slightly sticky table. Thoughtful. We also had time to look at the computer on the table where we could order stuff or call our waiter. We probably should have done that. When seated, our hostess didn't mention the thing and we mostly ignored it. It seems one step closer to working at a restaurant for my taste. The gentleman we presumed was our waiter made a number of passes helping patrons at adjoining tables doing his best not to give us any eye contact whatsoever. He was good that. I did hear him complain however about how busy he was at a neighboring table. Anyway, when we had enough waiting and walked out I asked the gathering of hostess at the entrance if we were required to call the waiter only using the table tablet. She said no nor seemed too concerned when we gave up waiting and left. We then drove to GrillSmith by Countryside Mall for a wonderful Father's Day dinner.

I've eaten at other Smokey Bones locations, and the food is consistently good. The service is always good as well. It looks as though they've gone though and done an over haul of interior and taken away the 'rustic' lodge look and given it an update to a more hipster vibe. I love the sayings on the walls. The one that caught my attention tonight was "A good dry rub enhances our meat. STOP LAUGHING" Tonight we ordered the fried pickles, a salad with pulled chicken and a sandwich for the husband with "kettle chips." While the mains were ok, I have to say that while I expected that the pickle chips should be a bit crispy, they were more on the mushy side. As though they'd been pulled from the hot oil too soon. The kettle chips too, were thick and un-crispy as well.

This is a great family place. It's super loud...bring the kids! They have an extensive menu, but haven't tried anything other than their BBQ which is pretty good. It isn't super chainy like a Chili's or Applebee's, but you can definitely tell that their side items aren't freshly prepared every day or every other day. The pulled pork is really good. Fav sides are fire roasted corn and the cinnamon apples. Service is a flip of a coin. I've had pretty decent service here, but this last visit it wasn't anything special. I'm not giving a 3rd or 4th star because the restaurant is filthy. Every time I've been the seats and table are sticky, there is food and trash on the floor under the booths, and I've never been overly impressed with the care of their bathrooms either. But if you can look past that, go enjoy some BBQ :)

Only gets the 4 because the manager was very pleasant and the rest of the service gets and A for effort even if they could have been a bit faster and more organized. Came to Smokey Bones later in the evening with some good friends visiting from out of town. We arrived around 10:30 or 11pm. Turns out it was their birthday. Not my friends, but Smokey Bones. We did not find this out right away as we wandered over to the patio area, but after sitting and waiting for a few minutes and before anyone even came to take our order the manager pops out of no where. Now it was mildly crowded on the patio and very crowded in the bar and restaurant, but it was a Friday night around 11pm and that should be typical for any successful establishment. The crowd also helps explain the fact that service was slightly slow (not terribly, just slightly). We did find it odd that before we even order drinks to that cost money, we get free birthday cake shots. They were good, but I am a big time White Russian fan, so you better like milky kahluha-ee drinks. For a little bit of birthday flare, they put sprinkles and frosting around the rim. As he delivered the shots, the manager jokes about turning 14. I joke back that I didn't realize 14-year-olds can serve alcohol. We also got coupons that conveniently did not go into effect until the next day. We considered staying until past midnight to redeem them, but decided against it. We waited a while for an actual waitress to realize we needed to be served. We order a few beers and drinks and caught up with each other and relaxed. We were not looking for anything wild and crazy and this turned out to be a bit wilder and crazier than we expected. But we did not spend to much money and we had an excellent time. Nothing terribly special, but the perks and manager get this place a boost above the ordinary chain and I would not hesitate to recommend. (Note while I did not have Smokey Bones awesome nachos this time, you will never go wrong with them!)

Me and my 2 kids ate dinner here during our weekend visit to Clearwater and were highly disappointed! Our appetizer was the spinach and artichoke dip that had no flavor at all which resulted in us adding salt :( never a good sign! my kids ordered 16 wings buffalo and spicy BBQ which once again were disappointed. Also had a side of fries that came 10 minutes after their wings..... The wings were very soggy and not very pleasing to look at. I ordered the chicken tenders which was ok but then again you can't really mess that up lol. The worst of all was the service. We had waited for refills forever and I was waiting for another beer for over 30 minutes! when waitress finally came back she said I'm sorry I forgot your beer so do you still want it?! Like really! Come on lady!

Corporate bbq. First time being in a Smokey Bones after hearing good things. Meh. Ordered the brisket meal with 2 sides. Up charged for Mac and cheese is fine but don't give me a cup of pasta with a sprinkle of cheese and tell me it's worth an extra couple bucks. Brisket tasted fine but I doubt it was a 1/2 pound as advertised, especially after I had to cut off a lot of rubbery fat. I eat out a lot and this was my first chance at smokey bones. Might give it one more chance but if there is a local bbq joint nearby I'd go there instead.

I went here with my book club group and we had a great time hanging out. We met at the bar until everyone arrived and I had a dirty martini. It was just okay. Definitely not the best martini I've ever had. The bartender was very nice as were the hostesses. As soon as everyone in our party arrived we were seated immediately. The table shared some chips and salsa and spinach queso, which was great. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich which comes with bacon and onion ring straws. It was delicious. I also ordered cole slaw on the side, but was served French fries by mistake. I just assumed the universe was telling me to eat fries, so I did. They were very good. I was not blown away by anything at Smokey Bones, but everything was pretty good and we had a nice evening. I'd go back.

I'm from Eastern NC and we have our own flavor of BBQ. I tried the BBQ sandwich and it was excellent! The wait staff was very attentive and was seated very quickly even if it was July 4th. Would def come back.

This place is infested with flies. When I say there are flies, I mean there are so many that if they joined forces they could drive Putin's forces out of Ukraine and Crimea forever. This isn't your typical "oh dear, a fly came in through the open door" type of inhabitance. These flies were born here -- molded by that sweet, sweet BBQ sauce. Go somewhere else. Anywhere else. Just don't go here. Unless you love flies on your food, then you should definitely go here.
