I just moved from California and very exposed to Chinese food & also from the Food Service Industry. The restaurant was fairly empty for the 2 hour duration was there doing work on my laptop. I really don't like to be negative, but I will tell how this experience is. Overall I was fairly disappointed in 88 Panda for several reasons: 1) Food: Ordered the Sweet & Sour Soup, the Bamboo in the soup was spoiled. Bamboo used in Sweet & Sour Soup is commonly a canned product. For Entree I ordered the House Special Chow Fun. I got a completely different dish what was sauteed and came with rice. No deal and just kept the item and not mentioned anything to the server. The shrimp was under cooked. 2) Service: Very dry and absolutely no interaction. There were also a table with I assume is the owner hanging out with a friend. The TV channel was constantly changed from a Cable Movie, Football, and another show. I have no issue what is playing...and having some entertainment for the staff...but KEEP IT ON ONE THING! 3) I did get the runs afterwards having to hit the can several times. I didn't eat anything prior in the morning or the night before. I left it at 2 starts because I don't know if this was an off day and they do have some decent reviews. I don't want to completely knock a place down for ONE visit.

Ok, seriously so good. Chinese restaurants are everywhere but would you eat at the one on your street corner? Probably not. 88 Panda is fantastic. The restaurant is clean. The service is friendly. There are 2 menus, your traditional Chinese Food and Peruvian style Chinese Food. Very good flavor. Large portions. Fair prices. Enjoy!

My husband and I decided to stop in after work last night for a quick dinner. In short: The restaurant was dusty. The waiter was extremely friendly and welcoming. The prices were cheap/average for Chinese take out/dine in. The food was awful. Go somewhere else. Upon entering at first glance the restaurant was much larger and more updated on the inside than the outside would suggest. Lots of wood work, detailed chairs with patterned cushions, not your typical orange or yellow walk in take out Chinese place. My husband wanted to dine in so we got a booth and waited patiently. After adjusting to the surroundings there were several things that became apparent: 1. The table we sat at was set for diners, but was dirty with dust and crumbs. 2. The tables surrounding us were all dusty as well. 3. The entire restaurant was dusty and worn. 4. They still had Valentine's Day decorations hanging (It was March 28). 5. They still had Christmas Decorations out. 6. They had a huge screen tv playing Spanish television. We were literally the only people in there other than the waiter/cashier (possible manager) and a teenage boy sitting at the bar with a lap top. After adjusting to the reality I asked my husband if we could just get our food to go (out of sight out of mind), but he was in the mood for dining out so we ordered. The waiter was extremely friendly and welcoming. After seating us he brought out a bowl of crunchy noodles (the kind that usually comes with the soup) and a condiment bowl of duck sauce. The noodles were cold like they'd been in the fridge for a week, and so was the duck sauce. I decided to go with 2 spring rolls and the vegetable lo mein. My husband ordered spring rolls and vegetable moo shoo. The waiter didn't bring our drinks until after about 15 minutes, which was torture because I was dying of thirst. The waiter brought out the spring rolls first. They were clearly over cooked on the outside, but not burned. After biting into them, it was evident that the filling was raw (raw carrots, bean sprouts, cabbage, etc). My husband thought his was fine. Shortly after came the entrees, which were huge and served family style. My lo mein was just awful. It tasted like it had freezer burn, that plastic after taste. I had to drown it in soy sauce just to make it bearable to swallow. I only ate about 1/2 cup just because I was so hungry. My husband said his was fine, normal. I had him try my noodles and he said he could slightly taste the freezer burn, too. My husband said his was not so fine when we got home and he spent an hour in the bathroom that night. Needless to say, I went home and had bagel bites for dinner. There are about 30 take out Chinese restaurants in the Casselberry area, avoid this one.

I got delivery, the Honey Garlic chicken, and I wasn't really impressed. There was more breading then chicken and it was so sweet i had to make myself finish it. Some pieces of chicken were so dry I couldn't even eat it. On the positive side the rice was good. The pork spring roll was pretty good with the packets of duck sauce they gave me. And the egg drop soup was nice. I got the small, but it was still a really large portion. Overall, if I ever did order again I think I'd get something else. Not fried.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
