Being from New York City I am very glad I found this place. It's a Very awesome place to eat at. Everything bagel has nice flavor to it. The ambience is very comforting also. I recommend the cinnamon rolls.. They literally should be labelled a drug because of how addicting they are. Try their cold brew black also.. It has a nice strong flavor with a subtle kick to it. So far the drinks I have had have been very smooth and flavorful, well blended aroma and good coffee taste. Starbucks and Dunkin donuts are all dump franchises. This place is a true COFFEE SHOP. The other benefit is that they are open till 10PM on Friday and Saturday. The customer service good and the staff is very nice! Keep up the great work and I wish this business the best. Definitely has the hipster vibe I used to experience back in Brooklyn.

Considering that they are right next to a Dunkin' Donuts, this place seems to really hold their own. The coffee menu is extensive and they feature fair-trade, organic, earth-friendly options to please every hipster. I usually just order a drip coffee, so I can't comment on the fancy drinks, but I'm sure they're good. The last time I went, I ordered a toasted plain bagel with cream cheese. It was delicious. I appreciate, too, that they gave me the cream cheese in a small to-go container, which meant that my bagel didn't get soggy on the way to my destination. The scones and muffins that were on display looked very tempting as well. The ambiance is cool, quiet, and vintage-feeling.

First, let me say that their iced chai tea is very good. If you are getting coffee or tea then you are fine. The food is horrendous. My co-worker and I picked up a sandwich to go for each of us. The sandwiches were gross and were not quality. The first issue was opening the brown bag it came in and there was two pieces of bread with ingredients not put together. They were not even wrapped in anything and just laying in the bag. The avocado was brown. My other co-worker at in the place one day and she went to take a bite out of her sandwich and there was a live roach in it. She complained to the manager and they didn't offer to pay for it or anything. The people that work at the drive thru window are usually rude and have an attitude.

Love this place it's pretty much my second home. And they have the best cold brew in the world.

Love this place! Good music, great coffee, sandwiches and breakfast items. Never go to Dunkin or Starbucks if you can go here instead. I like the "dirty chai," which is mixed with espresso.

I met a friend here as it is halfway between us. I was drawn here due to the the previous positive Yelp reviews. It has a very hip atmosphere, a great selection of coffee and tea, and a selection of sandwiches and baked goods. I must say that I am pleased to report that the quality of the sandwiches and drinks were very good.

Come here almost every day. Perfect place to work or meet. Coffee is delicious, especially the cold brew. The sandwiches are awesome too. You have to try the baked oatmeal sometime.

Definitely the place to go in Hernando Co. for good coffee. I came here for coffee with my family. I'm visiting from Seattle, so my expectations were pretty low. I'm not a connoisseur, but I have some sense of what is good and bad. I had a latte which turned out to be delicious. The did latte art!! Not bitter, foamy enough. They also had a curious cold brew machine. Of course, we're in Brooksville, so the baristas (?) were nice. You're a fool if you go to DD instead.

Beware, hipsters be lurking. But on to the review. They typically have a few different coffees to order along with a few different brewing methods. I usually choose pour over. The coffee was quite complex and satisfying, the origin of the coffee slips my mind at the moment. We ordered a curry egg salad sandwich on homemade white bread, which was fairly straightforward with a small kick of curry flavor. I ordered a ham, egg and cheese on a bagel and that too was quite satisfying even though it was simple as well. The atmosphere is laid-back college town with a mostly younger crowd hanging out or studying. I enjoyed the coffee mostly and would visit again if we're in the Brooksville area.

I've been looking for somewhere to go to sit down and enjoy a coffee and some kind of pastry or something sweet. Starbucks doesn't quite fit the bill because they're food always looks better than it tastes. I found the Coffee Barn through Yelp and decided to give it a try. Based on the advice of another review I brought my husband along to share a cinnamon roll with me. When we saw the cinnamon roll in the case it didn't look that big, but it's deceiving. It's rich so a few bites is all you'll need. I only took a few bites and my husband finished it off because he didn't want it to go to waste. By the end he felt sick from all of the sugar but kept going. He said it was a crime to throw away something so good. :) He's a cinnamon roll snob and he says that this is almost as good as the homemade cinnamon roll his stepmom made for him a few months ago. He's already talking about returning tomorrow to get another one. I also ordered a chocolate chip muffin which was really good. The mocha I got was also great. One small thing that I love about this place is that they give you real dishes instead of disposable stuff. The mocha came in a coffee mug and the cinnamon roll came on a plate with real silverware. I'll definitely be back to try some of their other coffees and some of their homemade bagels and sandwiches.

This is the gem of Brooksville! Since moving to town a year ago, I've been to the Coffee Barn at least 20 times. Their coffee is great (I love the Americanos and cold brews) and the cinnamon rolls are a force to be reckoned with. They are a family favorite (tip: ask them to heat them extra long so the center is nice and warm). For lunch, they have sandwiches made fresh to order. I like the vegetarian--hummus, cucumbers, tomatoes and lettuce. It's a much better choice than fast food. My husband gets a guacamole BLT and we are both super happy. :) You can also grab a coffee and hop online for a leisure afternoon or a morning work session. The music is great, the workers are so genuine and caring and the coffee is awesome. Enough said.

Great little local place! Coffee is excellent and roasted just up the road in Tampa. Breakfast sandwiches are made and grilled fresh. Outstanding! Staff is very friendly. Don't go if you are in a rush though....it can get a little backed up at times. Overall, great stuff!

my first visit was great, I had The Sheila sandwich after being recommend from staff, it was a nice mix of flavor combinations. I returned for a second time and had the ginger pumpkin soup and grilled cheese sandwich which was also amazing! A friend will be visiting and we will enjoy lunch and great coffee. Great place for the locals but also those visiting the area wanting a relaxing place with great food and atmosphere.

Definitely my favorite coffee place around. I love their Irish cream iced coffee but not quite as much as I love their "not Cuban sandwich" (yes, that's what it's actually called). It is delish and all of $5.99. Comes with a pickle spear and a side. Unfortunately the coffee barn is about 20-25 mins from where I live in spring hill but I have made the drive out to brooksville just for this sandwich. I am a big advocate of small business and feel strongly about supporting them. Besides the coffee and sandwiches you have to love the actual decor & style. Inside you'll find mismatched furniture and couches. My favorite thing is the "take one, leave one" bookshelf where you're supposed to take a book for free if you have another to leave behind. Super cool feel in there. You honestly just feel like you're hanging out with your friends when you're here. Lastly, the banana chip bread is divine! They don't always have it but when they do.. Grab it! Everything they serve is made right there in the kitchen. Owned and run by the nicest people you'll ever meet. I can't say enough good things about this place!

Quaint place to get a good cup of coffee and excellent baked goods. A little too "hippy" for me. But the people are very friendly and the food is very fresh and well prepared. The flavors are excellent. I would certainly recommend it to others looking for good food and friendly people.

Solid coffees & an eclectic environment. I had a decaf Mocha and it was great. No bitterness or chalky aftertaste. Their food menu looked good and I overheard them say they make everything themselves. I would definitely go back.

A decent enough place, I suppose, if Starbucks is too expensive for your taste or you want better beans. The coffee here is quite good, even though the person making it took about 10 minutes to make my cappuccino. Also, the person who took my order was making the coffee, and I had to wait 5 minutes in line while he flirted with the girl in front of me. I noticed her coffee only took about a minute to come, so it appears the younger staff need a little more training in the respect of treating paying customers equally. When it finally got to my table, it was lukewarm. He probably forgot he made it and brought it to me only as an afterthought. The sandwich I ordered was fairly good, but I expected much more for $6. The bread tasted somewhat old, and the meat and cheese inside tasted like ordinary cold-cuts from the grocery. The apple slices inside the sandwich were a pleasant surprise. A pity that they tasted like they were sliced and refrigerated from the day before. I didn't try any of the baked goods, however they didn't look like anything special that you couldn't get from the grocery for much less. The pickle served with the sandwich was also warm and floppy (yuck). The table I sat at looked like it had been removed from an old metalworking or tools shop, and the chairs were far too tall or too short, and sitting at the table and bending over to eat was incredibly awkward and uncomfortable. Perhaps I'm just spoiled by European coffee shops with fresh bread, high quality meats and cheeses, and extremely polite staff.

Been going here since they opened. Awesome coldbrew and the owners & staff are uber friendly & cool. And did I mention free WiFi!? Odds are if you're a hipster you'll love it more than plaid & IPA's ;-)

My favorite coffee shop in the area! Coffee is excellent. I really love the Ethiopian Sidomo roast. The roast is full bodied but smooth! They don't really advertise it, but the coffee is fair trade and organic because they work with Buddy Brew in Tampa. So not only delicious, but ethical. If you're not into coffee try their breakfast or lunch sandwiches. Everything is baked in house. I have tried their biscuits, bagels, and Italian Herb bread. All are amazing! Cinnamon rolls are ginormous and gooey. They also have vegetarian options. The atmosphere is also really inviting. They really don't seem to mind having people hang out. My only recs would be that they create some sort of policy to kindly request that people not have loud cell phone conversations. And it would be great to add some more teas to the existing selection.

I found the atmosphere here friendly and relaxing. During my visit, it was not crowded, the music volume was just right for conversation, and the couches were comfortable. While a bit pricy ($6.00-something for a simple sandwich and chips), the guacamole BLT tasted great and made for an appetizing light supper. Don't go if you're too hungry, though! My pour-over coffee was good-not too strong, not too weak. I wanted French press, but the press was broken. Kudos to the staff for being kind and offering me any free drink for the trouble. The peanut butter brownie was absolutely amazing! In sum: the atmosphere is relaxing and enjoyable. I gave it 5 stars because, despite the high price for a sandwich, the coffee was priced decently, the staff friendly, and the setting exactly what I look for in a coffee shop. If I lived in the area I would definitely frequent The Coffee Barn for studying and hanging out.

I love this place. The coffee is locally roasted and brewed fresh. If you're a coffee connoisseur then THIS is your place in the Brooksville area. Great atmosphere, delicious coffee/food, amazing people. The place has a really cool coffee house vibe complete with a vintage cruiser bicycle hanging from the ceiling and locally made food/craft products being sold. They have free Wi-Fi and it worked very well. As one would imagine we saw folks working on their Apple computing devices. We shared one of the very large fudge brownies, a cold brew, and the passionade (Homemade Iced Tazo passion tea with lemonade). The cold brew is made by steeping the coffee in cold water for 18 hrs. It.Was.Amazing! The passionade was superior to the Starbucks version. The staff was extraordinarily friendly and VERY knowledgeable. Being new to the area the staff suggested quite a few local restaurants and businesses. I would give this place 5 stars but the selection of pastries and sandwiches is a bit limited. The coffee selection was relatively substantive so I was a happy camper. If you're in the area STOP IN!

Great, tasty, smooth, hand-crafted lattes. If you're only accustomed to what Starbucks offers, go here, get a latte or a mocha if you're feeling like something sweet, and be enlightened. The cinnamon rolls are baked fresh in the morning and are legit, but make sure you bring help :) The 1-star from the gluten-free reviewer is pretty harsh - I try to limit gluten intake myself, and my mother is celiac, so I know first-hand it's pretty hard (and expensive) to find tasty things that are gluten free. I think it's awesome Coffee Barn is at least trying. And at any rate, come here for the coffee.

Have only had coffee and some pastries here, never an actual meal. The coffee is great, so glad I could find a place to satisfy my cuban coffee urges. All the coffee I've had here has been very good. The pastries are also delicious, especially their huge cinnamon rolls, which are pretty much a meal in themselves.
