Terrible service, even on a slow day. Manager did follow up and even went out of her way to send a gift card for our awful experience but our second time back wasn't any better. The food wasn't cooked right either, server was rushed, and the welcome committee hadn't changed as promised by the management. Sad to see an Outback being ran this way.

Went with the fam for dinner the other day. Let me start off by saying that I've lived in Brandon my whole life and we are frequents of this Outback, I've been coming here since I was a kid. I really like the new remodel they did. Overall Outback is consistent and has good food, not great but good. Tonight there service was off, I will say. Our server didn't check on us often and wasn't very attentive. Overall I will be back as it's our families go to restaurant, but I would ask for a different server.

Not a good review Bc I absolutely despise outback I'm not a fan of the food choices but it's a nice one

Reason why for the three stars? It's simple the waitress was very slow on refilling our drinks she didn't understand what kind of island drink I wanted. She also didn't have the patience to take our drink and entree order at the same time she was too in a rush instead of waiting patiently. My 11oz steak was ordered well done but it came out the first time really raw and sent back then came back out still raw after being on the grill for three minutes with the manager coming back with the steak that was supposedly been fixed and cooked to my liking it came out raw again. I told the Manager that my steak was suppose to be cooked well done not raw he couldn't understand me as well he was too in a hurry to leave the table. It took three times to get my steak cooked the way I liked it. It even had black pepper and some kind of spicy seasoning that made the steak way to spicy to eat but the manager didn't offer any way to make it up like take my entree off the bill or how he make the customer happy. Over all experience this place has changed over the years since opening and now seems like the entrees isn't that great anymore. Seems like the staff is too much in a rush to actual see if the customer is happy with their meal first before leaving the table and making the customer wait with his entree messed up. If your going to have a bar please keep it up to date with mix drinks such as island drinks as well so when someone comes in wanting a special island drink they can have one instead being told off the bat the bar doesn't know what I am talking about isn't a drink called a 'Veev Caipirinha'' which is a very popular drink around the area most high end restaurants carry Veev Vodka. One of the waitresses even said we're not classy enough to carry this type of Veev Vodka. Yes, that is what she replied with even the three managers didn't have a clue what Veev Vodka is and same with the Bartender.

As we were seated, I noticed a strong smell of cat urine at our booth. I requested to be seated elsewhere thinking it was just that particular booth, but smell was still there. Food and prices were decent but the whole place smelled of cat urine.

Update: Sent them an email about this terrible visit. Did not get a reply at all. So.... I'm a Brandon native. I've been to this Outback location like a hundred freakin times. The service is just getting worse and slower over the past few years. What prompted me to finally write this is that we went in tonight and left without having been served. The wait to sit was maybe 10-15 minutes, perfectly fine with me. We then were sat a booth and waited... and waited... and waited. No one approached us. Period. No "Hey, I'll be right with you!" No "Has anyone helped you yet?" Nada. This went on as we pursued the menu, decided on all courses, looked around uncomfortably, caught up on our week, took a nap, etc. There were servers buzzing all around us, but none of them acknowledged us. After sitting there for 10 minutes, we only timed the last 5, we'd had it. I'm sure we could've flagged someone down, but really how would the service improved from there? That all being said, when we get takeout every few months or so, the food is always good. We'll stick with that method from now on.

Went for lunch today.. I had the Onion soup and coconut shrimp lunch special. The Onion soup was Amazing!!! I would definitely recommend it and get it again myself. It was surprisingly filling and so VERY CHEESY!!! We had no issues with the service. The waiter was very nice and attentive.

I only visit Outback on occasions that I want a quick "cheap steak". This location has had consistent food prep only about 70% of the time. My steak has frequently been cooked to the wrong temperature, but the servers are usually nice. You know how it goes, you can only pick two: Cheap, Fast, or Good. THE FEMALE HIRING MANAGER COULD USE SOME TRAINING! My happy-go-lucky, hard-working son applied for a job there. He has been trying to get into the service industry for nearly a year. He did not have the right qualifications, but when he was told this, she was extremely snotty and rude. That's a huge turn-off!

My fiancé and I like to sit at the bar when we go out to eat. I'm not sure about the main floor but bar service sucks from our experience. We went twice recently and I get the impression that they only give good service to bar regulars, which we will not become any time soon because of the bad service. The girls are nice when they actually come around, but that's not often. They will also leave the bar for up to like 8 mins at a time.

Arghh! Food poisoning. I had the pork porterhouse and fries with steamed veggies and a chocolate thunder . My wife had something different and did not fall ill. I've noticed a quality decline over the past year in food.

Worst Outback experience I've ever had and it's usually mine and my boyfriends favorite restaurant! Nasty hair in our Bloomin Onion and his 13 oz Ribeye was cooked til burnt and tough as leather, ruined steak and complete waste of money.....we would have complained further but were ready to just pay our bill and get out. Worst Outback location we have ever been to!

  • Letitia K.

Service was horrible!! We had to wait 15min for the hostess to even ask to set us. The for was burnt & tasted old. The service was slow it took us 45 min just to get salads.

We ordered the Top Sirloin steak and fries. Unfortunately, this resturant cant cook french fries. The fries were undercooked and tasted like frion from the freezer. The waitress sent over a manager, but the manager did not offer us any options. She also did not comp any portion of our meal. Penny smart pound foolish management. What else can I expect from Brandon cuisine?

Ive never been a fan of Outback, I had a really bad experience the first time I went to one. So I get flashbacks! But anywayssssss !! What I liked the most about the restaurant is that its really clean, and the staff is super friendly :) thats a plus anywhere you go. The food is okay. The portions are good. Pretty normal. The Outback Special meat was delicious. The ribs were good too. They mentioned Aussie fries, but they are just like any other place. The blossomin' onion was a little too spicy and kinda greasy. But whatevs. The only cons I have is that they took forever to remove the dirty plates. And the booths are way too tight. So for bigger people is kind of uncomfortable, ask for a table. They offer different sizes in draft beer so thats good :) but no Blue Moon :(

It has been a while since I have gotten good service in the Brandon area. Our server was Tara and she did an amazing job with drink recommendations and the overall presentation. My outback 9oz steak was not very tender but cooked correctly. The other steak we got was with the $11 3-course meal. It was 6oz and perfectly made and much more tender. Bloomin onion was amazing as always and I love their Caesar Salads. It has the perfect combination of salad dressing to make it taste amazing. We have been to the outback a few times and have always received excellent service. I appreciate great service and always tip more for it!

The food here is edible but nothing spectacular. The outback special sirloin always seems to disappoint me, it had fat running throughout it which made it very unappetizing. If I wanted that much fat I would have ordered a ribeye. The side wedge salad was the best part of my meal. Server was friendly and told me about an awesome drink that was part of happy hour. I really enjoyed it and ordered 2 more. I would eat here again but won't be rushing back.

Quick easy lunch. The restaurant wasn't busy and the food was prepared as ordered. Positive Outback experience.

Being out of town and tired after a day of shopping, we decided that Outback would fit the bill. First surprise was that the restaurant was part of a strip mall rather than the expected stand alone facility. Second surprise was that parking space was at a premium, no acres of asphalt for parking. We dealt with it. We had a short wait before a table came free. My wife had a glass of overpriced wine and I settled for a glass of iced tea. Dinner for my wife was a bowl of French onion soup and the shrimp and chicken pasta. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with fries. The quality of the food was what I would expect from an Outback restaurant. No surprises here. Basic suburban food that is filling.

Good date night spot! Both my daughter and I had steaks and they were cooked as we had order and tasted very good. Our server was polite and did a good job. Overall food wise and environment was a good experience. I would like to say though I felt overcharged for my daughters meal which I was explained there would be a mark up on her meal for Mac and cheese as a side. $10 for a child's meal is a little much to me when I could go to Texas Roadhouse and get an adult size steak 6 oz for that same price with 2 sides. But for a treat every once in awhile it wasn't bad.

I found a hair in my food.... Twice. I ordered a sirloin and tree was a hair in the fries. I ordered steamed broccoli, and there was another hair in the leaves. What is wrong with the sanitation here.

I ordered to go at 5:15 on a week night. Someone answered right away and was friendly and efficient. I arrived earlier than my twenty minute time quote and waited in the car. Someone ran out to me with the bill and food immediately. I was so shocked it was ready so fast. My husband got steak and shrimp which he raved about. 9 oz and 4 shrimp for about 19$ my chicken and veggies was about $12. Little pricey but well worth it. They even packed bread and butter for us. I just wish it came with a few more shrimp. Otherwise it was perfect. Well packed, cooked to perfection. I am glad we did a to go order because I was a bit nervous at first. We will probably be regulars in the to go ordering world at Outback Steakhouse! I recommend it to everyone

The Outback Special steak (6.oz) with loaded potato, excellent salad, loaves of bread, is just $10 for lunch ! The service is good... They tend to under-cook the meat. So, I order medium and it is medium rare. It takes about a full hour to order and eat your lunch but is well worth the wait. The food is excellent!. I did not eat at (Brandon) Outback for years due to overpricing and bad experiences that I can not remember. They have adjusted their prices and won me back! We eat lunch there about once a week....

This was my 2nd time here, first time was 15+ yrs ago and I was not impressed so never had desire to come back. My GF loves her meat ( ok maybe that came off wrong) nevertheless , she wanted to go here so off we went. We arrived here after 9pm and place was not too busy. good atmosphere not too loud my only complaint was chairs were uncomfortable and a bit pokey in the back ( no pun intended there) We started with the Spinach and Artichoke dip with chips, it arrived promptly and hot, It was good, about average when it comes to this appetizer that has become mainstream menu option. After looking over the large amount of menu options and combinations , I decided I would go with her recommendation of the Porterhouse. I ordered mine medium with a baked potato and " walkabout soup". The soup came first and it was good and different nothing great but different in a good way. Our steaks arrived hot and a generous portion , both cooked as per our request. I would have to admit it was good, a bit pricey 25.00 but it was good. Of course we are not talking Berns,Mortons or my local fav Peter Lugers in Brooklyn but for Outback it was a good steak. Side note ,she suggested I ask for a small amount of honey mustard sauce for dipping, I was skeptical but I have to say it did add a nice spin on the taste. Overall it was a good dinner and I probably wont wait another 15 years before I make another appearance here.

Outback is decent - it gets really packed in Brandon though so be prepared to wait if you do go. I personally enjoy their blooming onion and their blooming onion burger. The service has been pretty decent in past visits, although some waitresses were a little awkward. The rest of the menu is your casual fare and there honestly isn't much worth talking about once you pass the blooming onions. If you want a real steak I would recommend heading to some great venues in South Tampa instead, such as SideBern's. If you want some real BBQ though there are better options in Brandon like First Choice on 60 and Jaymer Q-BBQ in Valrico near Bloomingdale and Lithia Pinecrest. For some great chicken head to El Puerto in Ybor City.

This Outback is open for lunch. We were able to get right in at 12:15. We were served quickly and efficiently with first our drinks and then the baked complimentary warm bread. We chose the "new" steakhouse salad, which actually is a "bring back" of a steak salad of years ago. Great light vinaigrette, about 4-5 pieces of steak cooked to your liking and the yummy chopped salad with cinnamon pecans and bleu cheese. ($9.99). The red onions in the salad were far too hot to eat so we did discard them. Quality service and consistently good Outback menu make this place a winner!

Food is delicious. Staff is almost always on top of it. But parking kind of sucks. The lot is normally full and it can be difficult to find a spot.

The service is awful! We came at an off-peak time and were the only people seated in our area. It took ten minutes for waitress to get our drink order and another five minutes before we got our drinks. We didn't see the waitress for another 15 minutes when she came back to get our order. I don't know when she put in our order because it took 45 minutes to get our food. The waitress never bothered to check on us until it was time for the check. I never got the side item for my meal, we never got a drink refill , and she didn't check to see if I wanted a refill on my "unlimited" shrimp. It isn't really unlimited if you never offer to bring more. My dining companions were done with their meal, so I didn't want everyone to have to wait for me to get shrimp and the side I was owed. I was really surprised the restaurant did not offer to comp something on our tab to make up for the poor service. The service staff could use some retraining. Management is free to contact me if they would like the name of the server.

I love Outback because there are so many healthy options, you just have to dig deeply into the menu! They are very accomodating to nutritional needs- you just have to ask! They will gladly make things gluten free, without oil, etc. etc. They also have a seperate GF menu including desserts- just ask!

We've eaten there several times. Usually once a month for the last few months but we've had enough. Food has really gotten bad. Inconsistent to say the least. They burned the stakes with the weights they use to cook them with. The shrimp was a joke. The worst most overpriced coffee ever. The restaurant is dirty and the bathrooms are unclean. The service was terrible as the waitress was rude and argumentative. Poor quality!,, the only reason we go is because my girlfriends mother likes to eat out and it's close by but even she said we're not going back.

This is my local Outback and I love it. Consistently good food and service. I've been here enough to have experienced bad food and service. The manager on duty always makes things right. Things are great here consistently though.

Reluctantly we come here on a regular basis to this location. Order the exact same outback special 6oz, we both order medium, and always come out rare. Then we order another night medium well to adjust for their not knowing how to cool a steak and it comes out burnt to a crisp. This location needs new management or cooks. I can't believe a place known for steaks can't cook to proper temps. How do screw up a steak it's your job as a cook.

Fantastic food! Friendly staff! We went there at 8:00 p.m and we had to wait for 15 minutes. We ordered the The Bloomin' Onion, Spinach Artichoke Dip, 9oz Victoria's Filet. Also, we had a baked potato, garden salad, and french fries. The meal overall was fantastic. The fillet was tender and juicy although I ordered it as well done! Well worth the money! I will defiantly be back soon! Next time, I will order Victoria's Filet, with baked potato and mixed vegetables! Cant wait!

By other half loves to come to Outback - while I stick with preferring more 'ethnic-fare' he sides with a baked sweet potato and salad w/honey mustard ;) * On Wednesdays there is a 2 for $25 option we've been digging lately. You can share either a small version of an appetize or a dessert and 2 entrees for this price. This makes things more reasonable than the usual steak prices. Food - My preference has always been the Outback special: 6 oz. steak w/a greens salad (w/vinaigrette) & green beans. Hubs digs the same w/a baked sweet potato and side salad w/honey mustard. The Ahi tuna on crispy won tons and the chicken quesadillas are our favorite appetizers! Atmoshere - The Outback in Brandon upped the ante! The new decor and more 'chill' mood opens up the space and gives diners a more quaint feel than the hustle and bustle of the bar area - should you choose a more quiet surrounding. Overall - we come back, it's a great place for dinner Only set back: parking. That parking lot for all of the businesses in the plaza gets crazy!

Went to outback tonight with the family I got the 12 ounce outback special medium rare with a sweet potato and a blue cheese chopped salad. The steak was cooked perfectly, sweet potato was loaded and tasted fantastic. The only reason it didn't get the last star is the service wasn't great, waitress was slow at refilling drinks and bringing out the bread.

Great food location. I decided to take some food to go when I didn't even eat yet for my mother who wasn't feeling well and the waitress got me her food right after I finished my meal and the take out was nice and warm. Definitely coming back. Only thing that can improve is the booths, they were meant for super tall people and it is uncomfortable if you are under 6 feet. Other than that perfecto!

Great service, we ordered 13 Oz Ribeye with sweet potato. If you want a strong drink order the Ask Robyn great drink.

This "steak" house had no NY Strip. They over peppered the Cesar salad and the mashed potatoes. The ribeye was like a cheap sirloin. The expensive lobster was way too salty to enjoy. Service was a nice guy but amateur. Will never go back too many other establishments to enjoy.

  • Phillipa L.

I always enjoy their wings and Caesar salad. It's great! If you get the Outback special that comes with steak and shrimp on the Barbie consider upgrading your steak. The steak with this meal is not the best grade of steak. The shrimps are good though. Their bread is great too. I always request the honey butter spread It's delicious!!!!

  • Greg T.

So we ordered four meals for the entire family and ask for a side of ranch for salad and the asking price for the side of ranch was $7.99! this was a large side of ranch them at eight dollars worth of large so we asked for the small side of ranch in the asking price for that was $4.99. with so many great steak houses in the Brandon area why would you choose something the charge this much for a side and absolutely cannot seem to get your order right way to go to the drive thru. our family is going to drive to ya part order. choose wisely when looking for a steakhouse in Brandon.

Outback definitely makes a lovely steak. However the parking at this one is a total nightmare and there is almost always a wait no matter when you come or how small your party. I don't think my husband and I have ever gone without being asked to step aside and wait for at least a moment. Service is hit and miss. I have had wonderful wait staff and so-so wait staff here.

    (3)
  • Luis A.

I came in for lunch, my group totaled eight hungry people. There was no wait and after reading other reviews about the crowds, the stars must have aligned for us. The parking lot was also relatively empty although I did happen to walk by the one car whose door opened just as I happened by, ouch my pancreas! The server was excellent although I cannot remember her name, which is a shame 'cause she definitively deserves the cudos for dealing with my rowdy group. Yes, I went and ordered the cheeseburger and fries (my kryptonite) and I must say it was perfectly cooked, the fries at the peak of crispiness and my glass never went empty. Eight people, no complaints, all in all a great time was had by all!

Came here for a Veterans Day dinner, and I have nothing but good to say about this Outback. We got there early just in case there was a crowd so we could get in and out. They offer a free blooming onion and free drinks (non-alcoholic) for veterans day. We got there and where seated quickly and once we got out booth our waitress was there in a few seconds taking our drinks. After looking over the menu we both decided on the create your own steak we both got the 9 oz traditional sirloin she got here traditionally cooked I got mine wood fired. We also both got salads and a backed potato. The Cesar salad wasn't that great the Cesar sauce was kinda spicy and really not that good. The blooming onion and there bread was delicious though. Once we got out main dishes I really enjoyed my steak it was so juicy and had great taste. It was cooked just right and the baked potato was great also. My fiance said hers was great also. The service we got was wonderful our waitress was always around taking our plates and changing the drinks. I would definitely recommend this Outback to other people and will definitely be back for more.

This place is okay as long as you know what to order. Steaks, chicken, and sandwiches are okay, everything else needs to improve. I am not rating desert here, since these are a safe bet. Parking at this place is rough, the service is pretty good and makes up for this. I generally only eat lunch here because the place is not worth the hassle of a dinner crowd. While I do not go out of my way to go to any Outback, this one is a better one. Also this location really tries to make improvements and make your experience enjoyable, but the food is average at best.

i came here and had the mahi. it was ok. i liked the sun dried tomatoes and artichoke that came with it. i added a ton of lemon. i also had a sweet potato with some sweet butter and it was REALLY good! it was kinda overpriced in my opinion, but oh well.

Tasty steaks and a great selection of wines...win- win. I have been here twice and the service is great. The food has been just as advertised and the prices are reasonable. The bar area has plenty of flat screen with the local sports channels on.

Outback used to not be the place I thought of when I wanted a steak. Since the remodel, not only is the appearance of the entire restaurant much more modern and contemporary but the food quality has improved. Granted, it's no charleys steak house but if you have any issue they correct it immediately with a smile on their faces. The new decor and improved attitude towards quality has brought me back. Now I dine here at least 2x per month. Great restaurant.
