I don't get why people gave such low stars reviews. Yes it is smaller portions than your average American fried meal but the point is to experience the most iconic British food. I got a Fish & Chips (I am french and it's probably the only British speciality I will praise) and I usually don't eat fried food with as much enthusiasm. This was a "light" fried fish in my opinion, so very enjoyable to me. The fries are home made and it's not pouring out of my plate, it's a smaller portion just enough for the European I am. Add some vinegar because it's the Delawarean tradition and avoid adding ketchup....! (Please the fries for what they are...) It is a nice place if you want to avoid the huge crowd downtown Rehoboth Beach or if you don't want to leave a tip since you order at a counter. Still the service here is good. I had dessert and they served me after I was done with my fish & chips. It was a Key Lime pie (home made too) and it was a "bloody" killer ;)

Excellent fish and chips. We ate there last night. The lady that took our order was very friendly. They brought the food quickly. It was nice and hot. The salads were cool and crispy. The only negative was the wacky silverware system. You press a button and get a fork. Sounds simple, it's just weird. They earn and deserve my 5 star rating.

Nice quick food spot to either eat-in or take out. Food was tasty I ordered the fish and chips and wasn't disappointed. My girlfriend and nephew ordered the crab cake sandwich and fried clams and chips. My only complaint was, I ordered a tap beer and my cup was not filled to the top... Had a Great experience anyways ..

Great fried fish but I'm a bit disappointed that I never received fries with my order after asking for them. It's always a pain when you carry out and only realize you're missing an item after arriving at your destination.... I would've driven back if the traffic wasn't at a standstill.

Great authentic British pub grub. Fish was nice and flakey. Chips were perfectly crisp and the malt vinegar went terrific with them. The decor was amazing. All decked out in London Underground signage and colors. It even had a vintage and gorgeous Mini Cooper on display. I also had the battered sausages. These were pretty good I would have like a little bit more batter or a thinner sausage because the batter always fell off while cutting them. But the sausages were flavorful and paired well with HP sauce. My mother had the battered chicken which she loved. Some of the best honey mustard sauce we have ever had.

They deserve 5 stars for the fries alone. Actually they deserve the 5 stars for making everything in-house and not buying it from a vendor like every other place in the area. We rarely stray from the fish and chips.. they are that good. We have tried the sticky tofee pudding, small portion. .but it is really good. The only real negative is that some menu offerings are small portions for the price. ( not the fish and chips, but some items ).. also I would believe someone who said they got something that seemed under seasoned. We are local and have had some really bad food in this area, but this place is really worth the price.

I like to think of myself as a man on a quest to find the best fish and chips! As of 2 weeks ago I would have sworn that the best was not anywhere near Lewes DE. Then it happened, driving to the beach I saw it...Go Brit!!! I had to stop and I must say Go Brit has taken the lead on my quest of perfection. The fish and chips were outstanding, the ambiance was authentic, and the London Pride paired excellent with my deep fried fillet of friend!!! This place is a must try. Additionally, my daughter had the shrimp and they did not disappoint!!

It's a rare to see on the east coast a fish and chips place. Convenient to beach goers, this little restaurant has a cute little moped out front that just begs you to take a seat on it and grab a selfie or two. Once you all inside, you place your order at the counter (try the mushy peas), collect your drink at the fountain beside the register, then take your order number to one of the many booths and tables inside. The place has souvenir t-shirts, Keychains, and even some European candy to take home. Don't forget to check out the vintage VW Beetle they had by the door, sadly you can't get inside it, nor is is available for sale. The decor is not overwhelming and the place is pretty spotless, considering that it is a "fast good" kind of place, where you throw away your own trash.

Having been to the UK multiple times, I can say that the food here truly resembles that of "British food." The fish I had was very well done - fried to a light crisp! Go Brit actually serves well fried food, not like that mushy gooey stuff that you get at other restaurants. Moreover, the restaurant was themed and decorated very well. They owner clearly spared no details, from the Mini sitting in the restaurant, to the way your food is presented. But where this restaurant looses stars is in service. Despite the cashier telling me that my food would be out in a couple of minutes, I had to wait what felt like 10 minutes for my food. Additionally, I had asked another cashier a question, and she just walked past me while uttering a few words, all without even making eye contact!

Looking for some great fish and chips? Go Britt is the place to go! The batter in the fish and shrimp looks clunky and heavy, but when you bite into it, it is light and crispy. The portion of fish that you get is huge. In fact my hubby and I often share. The coconut shrimp is good and the sauce they serve with it is sweet AND spicy. The crab cake is 90% crab. The Shepherd's Pie and the Seafood Stew are both delicious. We will always come back to this place when we are in town. It's always a win!!

Sad when a "fast casual" British food chain can make better fish and chips than many restaurants I have been in! The batter had good flavor and for the price the fish was very large. It is served as one long piece of fish which is a nice change from the traditional fish stick style common in restaurants. It made for a better balance between batter and fish. It was fried perfectly and was not soggy at all. Very impressed. The fries are fresh cut and tasty. Overall the food was really good. We finished our meal with the Sticky Toffee Pudding which was a little small for the price but tasted much better than I expected in a chain environment. PS: They also have a vegetarian option - a veggie burger. I would not touch it but my wife really liked it! She tends to be a very picky vegetarian! This is a small local chain that is looking to expand through franchising. If I had the money I would be happy to invest. But until then, please hurry and open one in Harrisburg, PA!!

When you order, you get one. huge. amazing. hunk of fish over either a bed of really good fries, or a caesar salad. I got the salad, and really loved both flavors together. it's worth trying. Owned (I think) by the same people that run the British fish n chips place on Rehoboth Avenue near the Boardwalk, it's a far cheaper location to operate (nicer too), and the price of the meal is far cheaper here than next to the beach.

Fast service. Best fish and chips I ever tried. Chips are okay. Clam chowder has too many potatoes and portion was small.

The fish and chips as well as chicken salad were great. It's pretty affordable since where I come from anything fried seafood is hefty for a puny size. As first impressions go, so far so good.

Let's put it this way, my husband (who is a Brit) looked at me and said, "So... moving to Lewes?" That's how good this was. The fish and chips were spot on and he was so happy to have Mushy peas (now I am looking on Amazon to find out how to buy them and make them at home). The woman at the counter was very friendly and came to ask where my husband was from (her husband is also a Brit). We were planning on having crabs for dinner but couldn't pass up the opportunity for proper British eats and Go Brit was definitely a good call !!

Mushy peas! Awesome!! Fish - crunchy batter. So tasty! Nothing short of bloody fantastic!

Best Coconut Shrimp ever, ever, EVER. Only five come per order though so that kinda sucks but definitely worth it. The group I was with ordered a little bit of everything...crab cake sandwich, fish and chips, beer battered chicken. All of it was fantastic. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 only because the fish tacos weren't really tacos per say, more like a fish wrap. So if you're looking the for the typical fish taco with a Tex Mex theme maybe skip getting it from this place. All you really need is the coconut shrimp anyways lets be honest.

Laid back and very friendly. It was my first time here and kept it simple with fish and chips. The piece of fish you get is a nice sized piece of fish. I know that this dish is fried, but it was a little too greasy for my liking. Great piece of fish none to less. I would return and try another dish.

This place is very yummy! Get the "chips" (French fries) they are fresh potatoes, not frozen. They have a nice menu with the traditional British fare plus some Indian dishes as well. $5 fish sandwiches with fries and coleslaw for lunch is a great deal. The owner Allison is just lovely, and she is from Britain so she knows authentic British food

We thoroughly enjoyed Go Brit. The fish was big, flakey and fresh. The fries are thick cut and decent (not my favorite type of fry but not bad). I would not recommend the sticky toffee pudding, I've had better. You order at the counter and then they bring the food out to you. They are using this location to pilot the idea of franchising the restaurant. Not a bad idea but I think they probably need to

  • David E.

The fish was good. The fries ruined it. I really enjoyed the fish and the fry on the balanced fish-to-batter ratio. Not a lot of seasoning but the fish was flaky and seemed natural. Sadly, the fries tasted as though they were previously cooked and then reheated in grease. (If you've ever tried reheating fries, you'll understand.). For $12.90 I was told to grab plastic utensils and my cup to get my drink and the food would be delivered. The receipt I was to sign had a blank for a tip and I left $2.00. I was left wondering wh y. I never tip at LJS's. Two stars for the fish. Pass...

When here for a quick bite after a morning at the beach on our way back to our hotel. The selection is pretty good. Got the standard fish and chips and they were pretty good. Definitely fresh and worth what I paid for it. Will most certainly go here again while on vacation.

  • Bryan G.

Good location, friendly service. The mashed potatoes and mushy peas could both use a little more flavor-maybe that's what makes it authentic British cooking? If I had any real complaint it would be the price. You could go down the street to Cracker Barrel or Ruby Tuesday and get more food (and full service) for about the same price. Still, Go Brit is a nice change of pace. Especially if you're in town long enough to try a few places, this is worth a stop.

Its ok for the fast food feel its kinda expensive.service was ok not great. Meal was definitely worth 3 stars. If you are looking for something quick but sit down type of restraint this is your place. It earned my 3 stars but nothing more.

Got the crab dip. The tortilla chips it came with were semi-stale (they look pre-packaged)... and the water tasted like the Chesapeake.

We are big fans of Go Fish, the sister restaurant of Go Brit. This one is further out of town, and a great place to stop to take a break from outlet shopping or after a day at Jungle Jim's. It is a little pricey, but the gentleman at the counter was very helpful at suggesting a way for us to save a few dollars on our meal. I ordered a piece of fried fish over salad greens (the dressing was a very good blue cheese vinaigrette). My husband had the fish and chips. I liked the chips - no complaints. One son ordered a crab cake, which I did not try, but he ate up entirely. My other son had the chicken and chips. Very tasty. I like the fact we order at the counter and food it brought to us; it makes for much faster service than the Go Fish restaurant. The place is large and comfortable. I really enjoyed it.

I love me some fish and chips! Being an American who's never been to London, I have no idea what "real" or "good" fish and chips are. Do you mean Gorton's and Ore Ida on a plate with ketchup and tartar sauce? Yum! So when I review a place like this, I go strictly on taste and quality of preparation. The fish was fresh and large. By large I mean it was probably the size of your standard boardwalk churro (about 10-12"). The fries that came with were good - salty but I believe that was the desired effect. They were the thick cut variety with noticeable sea salt crystals. Was it good? Put it this way: At 11am, I wasn't hungry at and I said 'Oh good, this is a lot so I'll have food for later. At 11:15 I was throwing an empty basket away. My wife got the shepherds pie, which I felt was a bit muddy and salty. The green beans and carrots were hidden inside and we had to spoon around to notice there was something else inside other than the beef. I liked hers, but not as much as the fish. This was definitely a take home because it would've been way too much to finish there. I personally felt it was a dollar or two overpriced, hence the four stars. But hey, you're at the beach and you're spending money anyway, so I can't hate. But if I decided to grab a beer with it, I'd be spending over $30 on a dinner for two that doesn't serve the food to me. I think that's a tad much, but to each his own. All that said, I visit here every month or so and will absolutely come back every time. My faves: - Fish and chips, duh

After going to the original location - go fish! - in Rehoboth Beach, we decided to try out this newer location. It was well worth it! Unlike the original location which is like a traditional restaurant, go brit! has you order at the counter when you arrive and then they will serve you at a table of your choosing. This seems to expedite the overall speed of service. There is also more room in this location, so the overall atmosphere is an improvement.

Sub par and bland food. Is this what real British food is like? If so, count me out! It's also a bit pricey for what you get. I ordered the shepherd's pie & it was bland, dry and quite frankly, disgusting! People go out to eat because they want to experience something that they can't replicate at home in thier own kitchen. I know for a fact that i can make better food at home! Everything was way overpriced. The Shepherd's pie was $10.75 & was the size of a small bowl. I'd pay that much if it were from a fancy restaurant and the food was actually good, but for a "fast food" chain, it's ridiculous. My friend ordered the fish & chips and also said it was very bland and very greasy. I will not be going back. The atmosphere was nice, but quality of food & price were not up to par.

The great experience here started as we entered and were politely greeted. We asked questions about items on yhe menu and wetr even offered a sample when I asked what mushy peas were. While dining, my only complaint was that I didn't like the iced tea from the fountain. When they heard that, the staf f t here brewed me a fresh cup of tea and brought it to me with loads of ice at the table. I can not stress how awesome my experience here wss and I will stop by again when in the area. Fresh really tasty food, good priced and excellent service!! Most impressive!

Have lived in the United States for some time and haven't had fish and chips quite like it before.... The mushy peas and curry sauce are outstanding and I will be spending many dinner times and lunches here this summer... Cheerio...

My husband got fish and chips and I got chicken and chips, we both got drinks and the risk was just under 20. The did was really good too. Certainly not fancy but some of the best food I have had at that price.

my husband had the fish n chips which he said was very traditional tasting and just the right amount of batter -- not too crunchy, but it didnt fall apart either. the tartar sauce was also just right. i had their clam chowder and LOVED it! then i got the crab cake a la carte. it was so fabulous that i almost went back for another one!! for dessert, he had their fried battered cheesecake which i HAD to try and absolutely loved it as well. i also ordered Alisons Homemade English Sticky Tofee Pudding which was probably the best sticky toffee pudding ive ever had. they had it in caramel sauce and whipped cream.

Went here over the weekend and ordered the platter with fish, chips, coconut shrimp, and crabcake. The platter itself was pretty big and a lot of food, enough for two people. The fried fish was nice and crispy and not a soft, soggy batter crust like some other restaurants. The fish meat was nice and flaky and perfectly cooked. However it could have used a bit of seasoning and was a little on the bland side. The crabcake was great with lots of meat and minimal breading. The coconut shrimps though were a little over-cooked and not very tasty. Also disappointing was the signature "sticky toffee pudding". The portion was pretty small for the price and didn't have much toffee flavor. It just tasted and looked like plain bread pudding. But despite the problems with the pudding & shrimp I'd definitely return and have the fish & chips again and maybe try some of the other dishes. The service was extremely friendly and courteous and definitely offsets any problems I had with the food!

We had the fish n chips and shrimp n chips platters. First the good. The fish and shrimps were solid (batter did fall apart and the was light) and the food was served FAST. On the minus side, the 'chips' were a little soggy and the portions were just average. We had a late lunch during off season and it was a good place for kids too.

Go Brit and it's sister restaurant on Rehoboth Ave (Go Fish) offer wonderful, traditional fish and chips. So happy to have them around for a night out that won't cost an arm and a leg

  • thomas z.

Had take out on Tuesday. They have a large menu. But the prices seem a little high. Fries were not good. When you say fish and chips you think of more than one piece of fish, after all it's not an expense piece of fish. Cole slaw was not good must have been left out on counter it was not cold. Order clams came burnt. To bad their's not a captain D's here they would put this place to shame. And captains D's isn't the best.

Food tasted fine but what a rip off- I went the first week so they may have made adjustments, but we had what amounted to a light snack for about $12 each. Portions are just too small, and I'm not a big fat slob or anything.
