AMAZING PLACE! The owner is very nice and knows us and talks with us every time we come in! Great donuts too! I love the donut holes and the regular glazed or glazed with frosting and sprinkles. Cute shop and very homey. Cheap too!

These yummy donuts were brought into a class I attended for a reward for showing up. I would take this class every week if there was a chance for these donuts! They were so fluffy, light, and melt in the mouth eye closing yum! I waited till the end of the presentation in anticipation to see if there were any leftovers. I wish I lived closer so I could stop in on a regular basis!

They have the best donuts around. Once you try them, you'll agree. Friendly service.

This shop is dangerously close to work...which means I'm on the "donut diet" as of late. The donuts here are delicious and consistently made. I'm a fan of the glazed and chocolate glazed, nothing fancy, but light and fluffy with no excess oil mouth (I really hate that in a donut). There is plenty of selection- cake, jelly filled, long john's, twists, crullers, standard glazed, etc. The customer service is friendly, just have cash or check, as they don't take cards here. It's a great local spot and I highly recommend it!

So I really wanted a Donut. I see 7-11 with there standard variety then from the Pink Strip Mall i See Carol lee Donut shop. Not sure how many times i have been up and down 72nd and seen it but never stopped in. The owner is nice and friendly. They also have burritos and coffee. But this review is for the donut. I had a Chocolate Bar. Absolutely delicious. And it didnt hurt your teeth like the ones from a certain convience store that are packed with to much sugar. It had the perfect amount of frosting. Was light and airy. The other donuts in the case looked just as good. And the bear claws are huge. I shall be back and im packing my gym bag so i can work off what i put on eating donuts there.

Best donut shop in Metro Denver. No crazy flavors, but donuts are fresh and consistent. No weird residue left in your mouth and not overly sweet. Dough is light, but rich. Customer service is friendly and helpful. This is a local spot so people, respect the regulars that eat breakfast here everyday.

The person behind the counter, if I am NOT mistaken, the owner or the baker for this Mom and Pop Donut shop, is indeed a Riot! A Riot in a good way, you know. I came in, to purchase half dozen of Donuts from Carol Lee Donut Shop on Monday February 9th 2015. That morning was about 11:25hrs ish. By that time, the donuts which are on display are a not as much as variety as I was hoping for. From the conversation I had with the staff who is behind the counter, he is originally from Cambodia. I jokingly ask him, that maybe he should cook Cambodian Cuisines, and he replied, nah.. he would rather bake "American Donuts." Hmmm... Nevertheless, when I purchase half a dozen, he gave me one free donut. All in all the donuts was OK. My purchased that morning was $6.20 with tax. YES its cheap but, I want to be WOW with the Donuts, but I was not. *SIGH* All in all decent donuts. Would I go ALL the way out, to have Donuts from here? Maybe if I go EARLY when they open and see how things or how the Donuts would taste when I get the chance to eat it and perhaps from there my review might differ too.. YES, there is a couple of tables and chairs to seat, and have your Coffee and Donuts in this establishment. Nasty place...cleanliness is not high on their priority list. There were 2 men running the place...1 I believe was the owner. Friendly enough man..gave the kids some donut holes with their donuts. The donuts were just Ok...not wow...not worthy of me driving across town to get them...just OK. The other man was sitting in the kitchen, arms on the prep table, playing on his phone and picking his nose...then wiping it on his pants. The dining area needed bleach....lots of bleach.

I just stumbled across this shop on my way to work this morning. The selection was probably a little more limited than usual since it was already 9:30. I ordered 3 doughnuts since I couldn't decide what I wanted. The owner tossed in an extra crumb doughnut too. I didn't even think that I liked crumb doughnuts but this one was delicious! All of the doughnuts were super soft and fresh. I'll definitely be taking my hubby here soon!

My sister and her husband stop here frequently to buy their donuts. I just happened to taste them when she bought several boxes for her customers on Small Business Saturday. The old-fashioned was pretty darn tasty and the rest looked just as appetizing. I love a great donut from an independent shop. Can't wait to try more!

It was a donut morning. You know those mornings. Sure, the Fiber One cereal bar was in my bag, but I craved something more (fattening). And, as I did not have time to merge into the far left lane to stop at my usual Winchells, I opted to try something new. Carol Lee is a run down little store in a run down little strip mall at 72nd and Lowell. While the shop itself is actually pretty big, I was the only one in there besides the guy behind the counter. The prices are really reasonable and I will attest that the donut I had was quite tasty. Furthermore, some coworkers told me they really enjoyed the donuts, too. Then again, they'd kind of come across as jerks if they approached the person that brought in free breakfast to tell them the food sucked, so there is that. Regardless, I got two dozen donuts for under $15. I was in and out in no time, and about the only qualm I have about the place is that they don't take credit cards (yet they do take checks).

Great little doughnut shop with awesome cake doughnuts! Honestly, I haven't had a cake doughnut this good in a long time if ever. If you are in the neighborhood, try this place. It is so much better than the Winchell's up the street!

Horrible! Donuts are not fresh. They barely had any donuts and I went EARLY in the morning! They did not even have any milk and they did not have any donut holes! CHOOSE ANOTHER Donut shop!

Ahhh... the memories! This place has been there forever. My beloved father in law used to bring their cake donuts to us in Boulder, and when I found this place again I CRIED! The cake donuts are the best around!!!
