Wow - our group absolutely fell in love with this place! We had a great table on the patio with a beautiful view of the mountain, but the inside was equally as charming. Our waiter was great - personable and very efficient. The food was really incredible and surprisingly well priced for a resort town. We tried the pork schnitzel stack, shrimp tacos, tomato basil soup, salmon salad and the chicken pot pie. We will definitely be back - this place is legit!

This is a great place to eat in Mountain Village! The food was delicious, the service was friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was laid back and chill! Perfect for the end of a busy day! We were pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes too! Yummy! We will be back next year!! A great place. Good food, great service, beautiful location! We have a new favorite place in Mountain Village!

Outstanding food, great atmosphere and awesome service - ask for Brett. Our food was incredible and we got such a good table on a Friday night and we were able to chill fireside and listen to a great band. The service (Brett) was the best. We'll be back next year for sure!

Since we visited in off season there wasn't much open in Mountain Village but luckily we came across Tomboy Tavern. Friendly staff, good food, fun atmosphere. We ate here twice and had great burgers, delicious truffle fries. The squash soup was excellent as was the chicken pot pie. Good consistent food.

Rating based on Happy Hour: In a mountain town...on top of a ski resort--good food at great prices is hard to find. Tomboy's HH ran from 3 to 6 and we were super pleased. Drafts were $4 and there was a great selection of local beers and other Colorado craft brews. There were some other drink specials too, but we stuck to the beers. The food is what got us though. They had a Burger/Beer special for $10. It came w/ fries. My wife and I split it. It was one of the better burgers I've ever had! Nothing fancy...just a good, old fashioned, juicy burger. We also had the wings and trout dip. They wings were amazing...super crispy w/ a bit of a sweeter sauce. i usually don't like sweet wings...give me spicy all day, but these were amaze balls. The trout dip was good too...but we couldn't finish it! We left full of food a couple beers for under $40 w/ tip.

Fantastic, friendly service and great happy hour prices. For $10 I got a burger, soda and fries. The food was decent but the ambience of the restaurant was the best part. It was elegant rustic with beautiful wood floors and tables. It overlooked the bike/ski trails and gondola. We also had the nachos. My kids loved them. I thought they were ok. Beautiful town in the mountains of CO.

Tomboy tavern is in a very cute location with great views of the gondola and all of the surrounding mountains. I ordered the Mac and Cheese and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. They brought out the creamy mac and cheese in an adorable little pot: my very own pot of gold! While I throughly enjoyed my meal, my sister's Cesar salad was rather disappointing, and my father's Carnesta pork plate was lacking. The server kept forgetting to bring our drinks and the food took awhile to come out. Overall it was a okay meal, but we will probably try a different restaurant the next time we come to Telluride.

Great creative cocktails. Good food. The Mac N Cheese is good. The service is great. One night they ran next door and brought us pizza! We always try to hit this place when in town.

Awesome atmosphere located in Mtn Village. The decor was neat and dining room was cozy. Great selection of beers on draught with a dinner menu leaving you intrigued. The Bison Pastrami Reuban was excellent and the hot wings were delicious. I will definitely be back to try more.

Summer visit. Kid-friendly outside, kid menu, made accommodations to menu for us, kids can roll down the hill and look at the gondolas above. They have heat lamps, but we didn't use them. Excellent service, excellent beet salad, shrimp tacos. Beautiful bar inside and very, very cozy.

My mother and I brought both of my daughters. The chicken pot pie is the best we have had in years. Everybody liked it! Also Jacob our server was just wonderful! We would definitely come again.

Same as another review, we were in search of a good, healthy meal after being in town for a couple days. Their menu online made us all agree (2 adults, 2 kids) that this was the place. Started with the San Juan nachos... I could have stopped with those. Sooo good!! Me and the kids each ordered burgers which were delicious. And the regular fries were a hit for all of us. My husband got the carnitas dinner at the suggestion of our server, and he raved about it. Before my food arrived, I got a Bloody Mary - it was quite large and very tasty :) Husband ordered a Coors Light three times and got a different beer each time, never a Coors Light lol! He didn't seem to mind though. The location was great, the vibe was upscale but relaxed. Everything was very clean and I loved that we had a large bottle of water at our table! We had a table looking outside so I was well entertained buy all the dogs and their owners. Very thankful to have a real traditional American menu to choose from. We will definitely be back for our next visit. Thank you to the staff for the great service and food!!

Known for their chicken pot pie, I got the chicken pot pie. Eh, ok... kinda soupy rather than thick and hearty as you would expect (and desire) in the middle of a day of skiing. The buffalo brisket sandwich is excellent. The thousand island is supposed to be spicy, and really wasn't, but even without the bite, I found it to be extremely satisfying and I'd return again simply for this sandwich. Really cool water jug they put on the table for you that I wanted to buy, but didn't have the ability to safely transport it home. Do you care about this? Probably not. My wife had a burger, which was very good. The fries were good. They have a great outdoor seating area and standup bar outside too which creates a great ambiance in the middle of the slopes. We returned a couple times in the course of our week skiing. It was the only place we returned to because we wanted to try all we could, but this place was worth it.

Rode the Ghandi over from Telluride to grab dinner here. We'd eaten nothing but bar food the 3 nights before deciding to try Tomboy, so we were in search of a meal that wasn't astronomically expensive but that also, just maybe, I don't know, contained some of those green things that everybody these days seems to think are healthy for you. Tomboy served that need. I had a nice New York strip with garlic mashed potatoes and some sauteed squash. Really good flavor and tenderness to the steak, and they hit the medium rare request right on the nose. It was a very satisfying meal, and it was nice waking up to ski the next day without feeling like I'd swallowed a cannon ball whole. We even got an interesting tidbit from our server--apparently Nitro Milk Stout takes 7 minutes to pour at altitude. Who knew???

This was a really cute, amazing place to eat. There are beautiful mountain view looking out the large windows of this restaurant. The chairs and tables are very comfortable, and there service was great. Very flexible. I went during happy hour and there was a beer and burger deal for about 11$ but they let our family replace the beers with sodas. The nachos were delicious. Definitely 5 star Nachos. But the burgers lacked a bit and were for like 3 1/2 for me because it was burned on the outside even though inside tasted outstanding. They do not play around with their portions! My lips were stretching to take a bite out of one of their burgers. I recommend the telluride burger. And the truffle fries.

We came here because the receptionist at the hotel where we stayed, Camels Garden, recommended this place. We were glad we listened to her. The place is really close to the gondola. Once you exit the ride, you'll be able to spot the big yellow umbrella. The service at this place was excellent and so was the food. Our server was Jacob, and he did a wonderful job explaining the menu and provided us with great recommendations. To start, we had the pan seared edamame. It had a mild level of spiciness (they used a combination of dried chili and sichimi togarashi, which was Japanese mix-chili flakes) and it was packed with flavor. My partner had the Tomboy Burger, delicious and cooked perfectly, and I had the soba noodle bowl with pork. It exceeded my expectation! The broth was light but had rich flavor, the veggies were great, and the pork was very yummy. Overall, a very satisfying lunch. We had a seasonal summer beer and an order of the gin with cucumber and lime. Very refreshing! I could go back to this place many times. Unfortunately we had to drive back to Denver. Oh well, next time then!

Food was great. Shrimp tacos had lots of yummy guacamole. Pork carnitas was a great serving size. The issue was the service and the kids menu. The manager was very attentive and helpful but our server seemed annoyed to be working. I had to go to the bar to order a second drink. He brought the wrong side (fries instead of salad) and we told him but he never came back. I had to get up and grab manager and when I told him the correct side was out in 2 minutes. We were clearly there to watch the hockey game with a party of 8. After we finished our dinner he dropped off our checks. No offer of dessert or more importantly, another round of drinks. My husband had to close out and then order a drink. I get annoyed when Mac and cheese is on the adult menu but the kids menu is Kraft. My 5 and 3 year old are not too adventurous but they like good food. The chicken tenders left little to be desired. The French fries and truffle fries also not good. Clearly frozen. Fresh cut fries are so appreciated. And "truffle" here means colored salt. So, great tacos, carnitas and a breaded pork sandwich on pretzel roll, but hope for a better server and tastier kid items.

Perfect spot for lunch when skiing telluride. There is often a wait for sitting outside but it's worth it. The nachos are awesome. I'd rate it a 5, but I've had slow service a few times.

Great burgers, great buffalo pastrami, nice atmosphere. What a spot for lunch or after skiing for a drink. We came back 2 times! When gets crowded can get disorganized.

Don't go here unless you have kids or they will try to push you in a tiny table in the back. Hostess was terribly rude to hubby and I on our last day in Telluride...we come here every year and she was the first nasty unprofessional person we have ever encountered. She said they want to save the nice tables upfront for people with kids so we needed to move...wow, guess they don't want young professional couples as their target market. It is empty here in a Telluride due to lack of snow..and TT has been empty too so asking us to move to the back in an almost empty restaurant at lunchtime with a very bad attitude was uncalled for...should have gotten her name...skinny, short brown hair, avg looking.

Mountain Village is a place built for tourism, unlike its sister village, Telluride, which is a mining town converted into a tourist mecca. As such, Mountain Village doesn't even have the superficial image of a quaint, historic outpost. And its restaurants tend to be just as touristy. As such, I never expect to be impressed with a meal in Mountain Village. I believe Tomboy Tavern occupies the same space that the worse-than-pedestrian Hop Garden did, and I will say, the Tavern is a vast improvement. The Tomboy Tavern is named after the old mining town just below Imogene Pass, high above Telluride. I don't know why they chose this name, other than as an attempt to disassociate the establishment from the surrounding tourist pabulum. I started out with an overpriced watermelon drink, under the "non-alcoholic refreshers" section of the menu. I liked most of these drink ideas, and the watermelon one was delicious, but each of them was priced $2-$3 more than it should have been. For my entree, I went with the G$ Burger (pronounced "G Money" - don't embarrass yourself when you order one) and truffle fries. The waitress said my options were "no pink" or "some pink," which I found a bit odd. I asked if they can do medium rare, and she said that's what "some pink" is (no, "some pink" is medium or medium well, which it turned out to be). The burger itself was pretty good, despite the issues with the temperature. The waitress came by mere seconds after my food arrived to ask how it is, and didn't return again until well after I finished. If you're going to check up on my food before I even have a chance to touch it, you might as well not check up on me at all. This is one of my biggest pet peeves about restaurants. The truffle fries were very tasty. It is definitely worth the extra $2 to upgrade. Despite the obvious problems with the dining experience here, I left relatively pleased with the meal, perhaps because my expectations were so low. They have a few things they could work on, but it's not a bad place.

I've been here for dinner twice and for après ski a handful of times. The service stands out- every server I've had has been friendly and helpful. Tomboy Tavern's food (American) is reasonably good, but the truffle fries, as other reviewers have mentioned, are wonderful. I'm a fan of the rustic decor too.

Stopped in for lunch skiing. The place was busy but had reasonable wait time. The food was reasonably priced and very delicious. I would definitely recommend the Mac and cheese with short ribs. The truffle fries were awesome as well. The shrimp tacos were good but a bit small, you get three per order and they are like street taco size. The burger was fine but not that impressive. Definitely a great stop on the slopes!

Within a few months I ate at this place three times. We had our wedding reception here. The first time we came, we didn't tell the staff we were booked to hold our reception and we were still incredibly amazed at the wonderful food and service. The second time we came here, it was to try our menu. The food and service were again, amazing. The third time was for our wedding reception and everyone raved and went on and on about how delicious the food, service and beverages were. Overall, the staff is amazing (especially the manager Maury, what a gangster that guy is), the food is fantastic, the beer selection is incredible and the cocktails are creative and delicious. Don't hesitate to give this place a chance if you find yourself in Mountain Village looking for a place to have a beer or a bite to eat!

Great atmosphere. Friendly bar staff. Comfortable seating with couches and TV's. Nice big bar to sit around. Yummy looking menu. Good local beer selection. I would recommend Telluride Brewing's FaceDown Brown Ale.

We came to Tomboy Tavern for a burger and they did not disappoint! Ordered the Tomboy and Tavern burger. Both were ordered medium -well and they were cooked perfectly!! The toppings for the burgers were perfect, both of us enjoyed our choices. We had the regular and truffle fries, loved them both!! The regular fries had a bit of seasoning and the garlic on the truffle fries was delicious! I ordered a side salad and it was large enough to share. The house dressing was a bit salty but overall tasted light and refreshingly, different from a heavy cream dressing. They have good beer specials and unique drinks. I did try the Foggy Mountain Breakdown, which was like a rum & coke mojito. Very nice minty flavor. Atmosphere is nice and casual with rustic ski twist. Do come in and don't miss this place for the summer season!!

Location - prime for mid ski refuel. Food - really good: kale & quinoa salad, shrimp tacos, tortilla soup... All really good flavor. Beer selection - choice! Price/value - Meh...paying for convenience. Service - all staff we encountered were friendly, no mountain snobbery, but seemed overwhelmed... Overall experience/why only 3 stars: We attempted to miss a large part of the lunch rush by going around 1-2 pm on New Year's Day, but no such luck. Food took about 45 min, and it was a little frustrating to see multiple tables seated after us eating before us, especially when hungry. Our server forgot one of our two beers, but continued to provide status about our food. It was neither an unpleasant nor memorable experience... Just average. I would go back, but I would explore other options as well.

Food was good- Do not order a Bloody Mary. My boyfriend and I ordered them and they were so awful. Filled with spicy horseradish. Had to send mine back. Maybe it was a fluke.

Took the gondola up from Telluride, beautiful ride through the clouds and started snowing halfway up the first climb and by the time we went back down to the area with the Tomboy it was coming down pretty hard. Since we were there right at the time that everything closed for the off season (Oct 20-Nov 20 this year) it was the bartender handling all the guests at the bar plus the restaurant. Luckily other than the bar there were less than 10 tables but there was a stead turnover of them. Sat back where we could enjoy the snow and fireplace and not get blasted by cold air when people came in. Had the House Smoked Rainbow Trout Dip and Chicken Pot Pie. Both Rocked! Went back the next day for lunch but they were closed for the Season. So glad we got to try them so next time we are in town, we will get there more than once. Missed Allreds which is also on our "next time" visit list.

Nice casual and fun atmosphere right in the heart of mountain village. Big tap beer selection and decent service. The pot pie and schnitzel sandwich were both awesome and the truffle fries too! Great place for good food and good beer.
