We saw The Tudor Rose online and my husband thought it would be a nice place for a getaway. He was right! The main house is beautifully decorated and the hosts are delightful. It was quiet and peaceful, a wonderful respite for a few days. Health issues prevented us from taking in the local offerings (biking, hiking, geocaching, horseback, etc) so we spent our extra day in the B&B. We relaxed in the cool family room, played backgammon on the deck, read some books, and enjoyed homebaked cookies and iced tea. The food was uniquely prepared and delicious. We enjoyed an abundant breakfast both days, with protein, fresh fruit, and delicious coffee. We would return to Salida to stay here, and hope to do so soon.

Tudor rose was incredible from the innkeepers to the breakfast to the large room with a private hot tub! Everything was top notch

This was our first time staying at this charming B & B. I came here with my Daughter, Mom, & her husband. My Mom and Phil, have been here before and when we arrived, Joh was at the door with a warm welcome. He remembered my Mom & Phil and was like they were there last week, when it had been several years. The rooms were great. We stayed in The Lancaster Room, huge king bed, and very inviting. Breakfast was great, stuffed french toast with eggs and sausage, orange juice and coffee. If I were to come back to Salida, I would make sure I booked two nights because one is not enough. Kathy

My husband Michael and I luckily found Tudor Rose. We had a small wedding in Salida and the 5 chalets accomodated our 20 guests wonderfully. There was plenty of space and all necessary appliances for all of our guests to feel comfortable. The chalets are fairly close to one another but each one still feels private. Jon and Terre were extremely accomodating with the check in/check out and allowed us to set up tables and corn hole near the chalets. The views are wonderful (especially chalet 4) and it is still close enough to town to enjoy dinner and the river. A million thanks!!

Spent the night here and enjoyed every minute. The back porch is such a tranquil place to spend the evening. The room was clean and homey-like staying with a friend. The inn keepers were so kind and accommodating. I have recommended this bnb to my friends.

We liked the Tudor Rose B&B chalet #1. Warm environment and rustic western decor, the chalets are roomy and full service (Would have liked a private jacuzzi, master room full closet and master bath tub but hey - no deal breakers here). Bring your dogs and horses as well (Recent coggins test required - check their website for details). There are enough large cross fenced paddocks to keep your horses happy while you explore the area without your horse. They also have closed in stalls just in case you want to get your horse out of the weather. The Colorado Trail is close by to ride all around the majestic area and don't forget to take in Mount Princeton Hot Springs. John and Terry aim to please and it shows. We'll stay here again and recommend you give it a try yourself.

Tudor Rose was a great internet find. Rooms were an excellent bargain during the snow season. They offer several different rooms and chalets for larger groups. I was pleased to spend two nights with them. Features I enjoyed: a filling homemade breakfast, tv with dvd player, hot tub beneath the gorgeous night time sky, 37 acres to walk around, 2 abandoned log cabins, the two friendly dogs, our hosts, and the comfortable bed. Go here and enjoy trips to Salida, the Sand Dunes, nearby hot springs, and Monarch

My Fiance and I planned a weekend get a way/visit with friends in Salida. We stayed at the Tudor Rose for 3 nights. Both of us really enjoyed the atmosphere, the views and the friendliness of the owners. We stayed in the Lancaster Room and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The 2 breakfasts we had were delicious. We enjoyed the grounds that had a small nature hike and played a few games of horse shoes by the Chalets. We would definitely be back!

Just got back from a Colorado trip that included a rafting trip in nearby Buena Vista. When I found this place, I decided to stay overnight here instead of driving back to Denver afterwards. I was little nervous that it looked that nice from all the pictures and all the reviews, but was so cheap. Clearly had nothing to be nervous about, though - apparently Salida is just a really cheap place to stay. We absolutely loved it here and would absolutely recommend it to anyone who has a reason to be in the area. For people who are trying to figure out exactly what kind of place it is: it really does feel exactly like a house you're just renting a room in, which is sort of weird but sort of cool. You walk into the living room, which you can hang out in if you like - the proprietors have their own space downstairs, but you're sharing the common space with the other guests, and with the proprietors if they're about. They're super chill, though - I chatted with them a bit, they're great people. Now I understand so much better the name "airbnb" - because this sort of personal feel is what a proper bnb *should* be like. :) Also for that reason, because it's so small, if you want something, the hosts (it really feels more like they're hosts than just the owners of the place) will totally go out of their way to get it for you. My wife likes sleeping with a ton of pillows, and when she mentioned that, they *immediately* went and grabbed her a bunch. We stayed in the Blue Room, which does have a private bathroom (a little small, and just a shower, no bathtub, but it is a proper private bathroom). The room is also a little small - it oddly doesn't have a proper desk, just a bed with two side tables, one of which I turned into a desk. It does, however, have a fridge, which was nice. Sadly, our room faced towards the smaller, not-covered-in-snow hills, but it was still a very pretty picture. Bed was extremely comfortable, though I wish the curtains had been a little bit stronger (right now, in that room, the sun *will* shine right in your face and wake you up at 5 in the morning.) Breakfast is served at either 8 or 9 AM (your choice), and it is fantastic. Clearly all home-made and cooked fresh right for you, it consists of a piece of very good sweet bread, assorted fruit, and whatever main dish they feel like cooking that day. One day it was an omelette, the other day it was a very fancy-looking ham, egg and cheese baked *onto* a biscuit. You would totally pay 10 bucks for this breakfast at a restaurant and consider it worth it. The whole area is gorgeous and just so relaxing. We took a walk around the grounds the morning we were checking out, and we saw a couple rabbits, and just sooo many different birds. Only a couple minute drive into Salida (good if you want dinner), but it really does feel like you're hours from anything. Strongly recommended.

Had a wonderful stay here over Labor Day weekend. Our room was clean and well-appointed, breakfast was tasty, and the location was perfect for exploring Salida and day trips to hiking and hot springs. I would definitely return!
