The good: order the street tacos, we had the marinated pork and it was phenomenal. I will go back for those. The service is great and the margaritas are stout ;) The salsa and cheese sauce are subpar.

I gotta say this place impressed me! I will qualify this by saying that one of their GIGANTIC margaritas got me basically drunk (also because I had to finish my boyfriend's so he could drive us home...twist my arm) and so my review may be tainted by drunk goggles and drunk taste buds. We were also STARVING after a long hike. If you like seafood: order the seafood fajitas. Wow. Such good flavorful white fish, shrimp and scallops. The portions here are INSANE. My boyfriend's Mexican flag burrito (green sauce, red sauce and sour cream) wasn't even finished by him...which is the first time I've seen him leave food on his plate. The service really is suuuuuuper slow so just be prepared to be there for a long time. Order a marg. They're bigger than your head and delicious. All will be right with the world.

Looks better than it tastes. Tons of items on the menu. We ordered the Deluxe Nachos, chicken street tacos, and a children's plate of chicken fingers and fries. The kids complained that the lemonade was too sour. Service was relatively slow - our server never checked on us and we finished our meals before we could get extra napkins (one comes with each meal). Just very meh. WAY overpriced. Not worth a return visit.

We just had the best Huevos Ranchero . The red chili sauce was delicious, not too hot, and good corn tortillas. The service was happy, quick, and not intrusive. We would definitely eat here again. Terrie Mangat

The food was extremely over priced, mediocre, the server was like a slug bringing the food, the margaritas were over priced AND WEAK. $70+ meal for 2 people...?!!!!

We were passing through Salida and were craving Mexican food. Ended up at this place and glad we did. The decor is bright and fun Mexican theme. We both had margaritas which were perfect. The burritos are big, packed with meat and other fillings with refried beans and rice. I hardly ever eat refried beans in a restaurant but I ate them at this place. The chips and salsa before dinner were delicious. The service was attentive without being overpowing.

Food was eh....service sucked. They were inattentive to the point of we had to flag down a server to leave. They never checked on us during dinner and my sister's dinner was incorrect. Wouldn't go back and won't recommend it.

I just moved to town and had to find Mexican food stat! A Texas native is always looking for the good stuff. This will suffice as our go to greasy Mexican joint around here. I'll admit the service was not attentive we had to ask to get seated but the place was huge so they could not see us waiting. We will be back.

I'm a salida local and I came here on a Thursday evening and to be honest, from start to finish I was impressed. Menu was a bit confusing but our server was very helpful and recommend a great dish. Very prompt and polite. Great service and great food. Drinks we're okay, pretty standard. I was not wowed by the top shelf margarita. All in all a great place and great meal.

I saw the night before passing by that this was open for breakfast and I love huevos ranchero. Traditionally, it's two or three fried eggs over easy on top of corn tortillas topped with ranchero salsa. Servered with a side of refried beans. This is what I ordered. What is got was what I described but also topped with Pico de gallo and shredded cheese on top of the eggs and the entire plate was drowned in a very oily/greasy pool of sauce. I asked where are the beans? She pointed out that I couldn't see them because they were beneath the level of the sauce. I ask why is there so much grease and oil pooling on the surface when there is really no typical ingredients that are oily. She said they make their sauce with chicken broth. Apparently, they don't know how to skim the fat off the broth before they add it. It was kind gross with all that fat floating on top. See my photos. Every bite just seemed greasy. She offered to bring something else and I just asked for beans that aren't drowned in the fatty sauce. The beans are alone were really great with tortillas. The beans were perfect creamy smooth consistency. It a shame about the huevos ranchero because it could be excellent if they didn't use the oily sauce and so much of it. It's a big restaurant but I was the only one there. I think they could easily bring up the quality and taste by fixing a few things. I truly only gave them 2 stars because the beans were good. It was just all that grease and sauce... Terrible.

Went there for a hot meal and good service. I should have kept driving in the snow! Slow to no service! I had to ask twice for everything! My wife and I ordered a chicken and beef burrito. Both were gold inside! I just sent mine back with 2 bites. My wife had them recook her. We were charged for both! Why would I want to pay for bad service and a cold burrito. I was so disappointed that I just paid and left! I won't be back! This is the second time I've had crappy food served to me there! 0-2 = no more!

We went here on Valentine's Day night because everywhere else was packed and it was fantastic! The margaritas were great, the servers were pleasant, the food was fabulous and we were given chocolate covered strawberries for the holiday! Would highly recommend!

Mexican restaurants are hit and miss and this place is a hit! I'm staying at a hotel near by and it was good enough for me to come back again for a second time while I'm here! It's a small town so if they are still in biz they gotta be doing something right! Had a margarita while I waited for my food... Not to bad!

Food was average. Service was slow and they forgot things, however, they did remedy when reminded. But, it's Salida and if you need Mexican food after a day in the mountains or on the river, it will do. Just don't go expecting great.

We've been eating here whenever we come to Salida. Years ago, we wound up arriving in Salida really late and pulled into the parking lot of Fiesta Mexicana 5 minutes after they closed. We (hungrily and sadly) started to back up, and someone came to the door, and opened it, waving us in. They encouraged us to order dinner and eat it there, all the time apologizing for the noise they made while vacuuming and putting up chairs. We left a sizable tip and have eaten there ever since when in town. The portions are generous. Saturday I had a t-bone and beans; that T-bone was better than one I recently had at a "world famous" steak place. My wife's burrito was filled with perfectly cooked chunks of pork. The margaritas are large and made to order; we haven't had one yet that was comprised of mix. Everyone that works here is friendly and go out of their way to make you happy. Salida has a number of good restaurants, and I rarely see Fiesta on a list of "must try" places in Salida. It's not swanky, but do you want that in a Mexican restaurant? Try it after a long day on the Arkansas, you won't be disappointed.

The restaurant was festive and CLEAN (even the bathrooms were very clean). The food was good, hot, fresh and presented well. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. I would definitely eat there again!

Eh. The food is okay ... just okay. I've eaten here two or three times over the past ten years. Each time I've been disappointed... and then I forget about the experience and talk myself into going there after a few years have gone by. The food is mostly underwhelming. Regarding the rice and beans that go with their dinners, the portions of rice are skimpy, and the beans are much more of a gooey liquid bean paste than actual beans. Their dinners are not cheap either. The atmosphere is "over the top" in its decorations, with elaborate & colorful designs on the tables and Mexican mariachi music. They also have booths -- that's a plus. All in all, you can do better.

Stayed in Salida for a long weekend and this place was so good we had to come back a second time! The first time we showed up with around 15 people completely unannounced, and they sat us all immediately and the service was impeccable...even with the added pain and complication of separate bills for each couple/group of people!

Terrible experience. Place was empty but took forever to seat us. The nachos were greasy and flavorless. The red sauce on my burrito tasted like spaghetti sauce. My friends combo plate was bland and he sent it back. When questioning the manager as to why he had to pay for terrible food he didn't eat the manager was rude and said "you picked at it and you ate the chips." The manager wanted to argue and didn't even try to make it right. We should have just stiffed them and walked at that point...

We've been eating here for so long we can't remember the first time. The decor is kitschy and fun, the service is always good and the food is always good. Consistently good food. We're not in Texas, kids.

Very average to below average mexican, somewhat cheesy interior with very cheesy and not-so-great entrees... It feels like a tourist place that knows it's not heavily reliant on repeat business. I'd skip it and go to Amica's, Moonlight Pizza, or the Boathouse...

What the...? I have eaten at the Show Low, AZ location many times and would give it a 4 star rating. This location in my home state was a huge disappointment. I kept telling my friend how good it was, and we were looking forward to eating there on a recent road trip. Might as well been a completely different restaurant. The service was mediocre at best, the server was not very attentive or friendly. Actually had to go ask him for the check even though he was vacuuming right next to our table. The food sucked. Greasy ground beef that was so nasty that by the time I picked up my second taco, the entire shell gave way due to sogginess and everything fell out on my plate. These guys seem to think that cheese is a garnish rather than something meant to give the food any flavor...I hate that. On top of everything, it was very expensive and I felt totally ripped off. I wish I could write the owners and let them know that I really like the Show Low location, but the one in Salida ought to be closed if significant improvements can't be made...but of course there is no web site. Just terrible, don't waste your time and money unless you love bland and greasy food that's expensive.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
