My wife who hates Thai food and usually scoffs when I make the suggestion had the angel wings and was seriously blown away! I had the green curry medium hot (usually pick that at most Thai places to see if they're any good). And I wasn't disappointed either. I've had Thai in l.a., Denver, San Fran, and Portland and this stands up against those. The owners are very sweet and accommodating and definitely aim to please. The only bummer is there decor and seating, they have some awkward booths that seat four built in and they could probably accommodate more people if they remodeled. I could care less because the food was amazing but the wife made me mention that and the Christmas lights. ;)

Can't skip this one! Nothing generic or unsavory. Superb service and food complimented by a well-decorated atmosphere. Tom Kha was a refreshing start. Panang curry was a wonder: haven't had too many other places compare in richness of flavor. Scallops were a great option in addition to the regular tofu, chicken, etc. Brown rice hit the spot. Some sushi is offered as well. Ridgeway is lucky to have this!

Incredibly delicious and authentic Thai! Everyone with me loved their meal. The owners were some of the friendliest people I've ever encountered. It's a tiny hole in the wall, I'm going back tonight!

I'm surprised to read the rave reviews of this place. I live in Ridgway and frequent The Colorado Boy for their delicious pizzas, but one evening we found the line too long and our starving 3 year old need to eat pronto! We decided to try Thai Paradise instead of wait for a table at The Colorado Boy. It was a cold winter night and we never would have expected to be just as cold inside the restaurant as we were outside. My daughter and I never took off our down jackets the entire meal. The waitress was very friendly with another couple that was previously seated. They were obviously local and she tended to their very need. However, since it was our first time, we were not familiar faces, thus, no interest to her. She was the only wait person on the floor, not surprisingly because there were only 5 of us in the restaurant the whole hour we were there. The waitress treated us like we were insignificant from the moment we walked in and then proceeded to treat us that way the entire meal...making her "local" cliental as comfortable as possible. The food was subpar at best. We've eaten many times at the Thai Paradise in Telluride and have always been happy with our meal. I thought the two restaurants were owned by the same people and if that's the case, the owners need to manage their front of the house and kitchen staff a little better. Maybe do some quality control? Taste some of the food that they are serving their customers? In a nutshell, all three of us left feeling a little grossed out by the experience as a whole.

Visiting a friend in Ouray and the first place he took us was Thai Paradise. We sat on the patio because we had our dog with us and it was fantastic. We had tempura, soft shell crab, satay, curry, and lots of wine. Everything was delicious and the service was great. Can't wait to come back!

I usually don't like Thai or other 'exotic' foods - mostly a meat-and-potatoes kind of guy. We went here only after our 1st choice was unexpectedly closed. I had a hard time ordering and wasn't looking forward to it. But I was blown away by the flavors. I couldn't tell you what they were, but it was really, really good. The "Nipple Platter" (appetizer sampler - yes, that's it's real name) was a good tasty selection and the main course was really amazing. I'd definitely recommend it.

WOW! Who would have thought in the boonies (I am from the city) I would find some of the most epic food!!! I love Thai food and the chef/owner knows how to make amazing food. The local ingredients push the flavors to new heights and the customer service was delightful. All 4 of us ordered different dishes and all of them were amazing. Looking forward to going again this summer

A really great surprise. Very sweet mom and pop place with eccentric decorations - surprisingly a lot of seashells for a Thai place and a landlocked location. The food...I will be very honest, I'm not a Thai connoisseur. I love the typical Pad Thai and Drunken noodles, but beyond what I'm very aware of is Americanized Thai, I can't tell you much. I have had boat noodles from a place in Thai Town in LA that blew my mind. So there's that. In general, I feel like I can tell when flavors are missing. But back to Thai Paradise, solid for general Americanized Thai. I got the third level of spice for my Jungle Curry, and I handle spice really well (not like "American Spicy", but "Asian Spicy"), and this thing had me tingling in all the right ways. Exactly what I needed on a cold, snowy day. They also had an option for organic chicken, which I thought was Surprising. And nice. Their Thai Iced tea, definitely not the best I've had, but you get one free refill. And when you order some spicy curry, it's all around perfect.

The prices at this place is a little on the high side. With that said, the food is great! I've spent some time in Thailand and the food here tasted just like the food there! I always order pineapple fried rice and the serving size was plenty!

Spectacular Thai in while on a Mountain High! No visit to the west is complete without a stop into Thai Paradise. This year's adventure dining included the house specialty "Angel Wings" a unique dish, thats well worth the 6 hour drive from Denver to try! The staff of Thai Paradise are the real stars of this 22 person capacity establishment, the chef/owner has a fascinating story and continues to represent his heritage with dignity and enthusiasm. Try it. NOW!

Everyone is reviewing this restaurant in light of its tiny, small-town setting. If compared against Denver, LA, or even Telluride locations, its just average. I've eaten here maybe 5 times. Tonight, Massaman curry was ok, rubbery chicken, under-cooked carrots. To enjoy the place, you have to get past the rude, overweight, blonde lady looking like that which you'd expect to interface with at an Ohio bowling alley. We'll call her Bowling Alley Barb. I came in alone and was promptly placed at the bar with no one else there, everyone else sitting in the side of the restaurant-- in these uncomfortable, rickety bar stools (myself). Bowling Alley Barb slams a water pitcher in front of me in anger because I dared ask for 2 whole water refills. The $13.95 curry is actually, surprise!!!, $15.95. Barb asks me if I want my change after putting a $20 in the tray. This is really unprofessional. Ok food. Lousy, presumptuous service. If you can make it to I-70 or Telluride, there's better, and, cheaper--free from Bowling Alley Barb. It's a shame as the owners are the cooks and classically gentle people, generally doing a pretty acceptable job at cooking. Suggestions: They need to dump Bowling Alley Barb, buy less rubbery chicken, and slash their Telluride-style prices.

Such an exquisite experience to dine here. The perfect place after a day exploring the mountains. The food was exceptional, both in taste and presentation. The coconut milk soup was perfectly balanced and so nourishing. The rest of our orders felt fresh and flavorful. The service was great - friendly and perfectly sassy to fit the spice of the food delivered. So glad to have stumbled upon this place. Highly recommended

Negative: It's a little pricy. Positive: This is a !@#@#!$#@ delicious Thai restaurant dropped seemingly at random in the tiny town of Ridgway, CO. We had the taster appetizer tray, which I highly recommend. It's the best way to get a little taste of everything once you realize that you cannot choose between all of the delicious sounding apps. I had the drunken noodles, which were well spiced and delicious. My wife had the Green Curry. She asked for it "Thai hot" because she's crazy like that, and the dish did not disappoint. Not only was the dish itself super spicy, the waitress brought out a little dish of the owners own special recipe hot pepper cocktail. With a couple of beers, tax, and tip, we ended up spending $70, which was a bit more than I was expecting. However, I can't be too too angry about price when the food is great.

My boyfriend and I stopped in here while we were on vacation and we were very impressed. My boyfriend got the sweet and sour pork. I got a coconut-curry with chicken. The flavors were complex and delicious! We also ordered the crab ran goon, which had a thicker wonton. The owner came out after our meal and chatted with us for a few minutes. The decor was unique and we had a great experience. We were weary because ridgeway is a small town, but please check this place out, it's worth it!

Cozy, colorful little find in Ridgway. I did not expect to find flavorful Thai cuisine out here, but overall I'm glad we popped in for lunch! I wanted to give Thai Paradise 4 stars, but our overall experience was only OK. We walked in and stood around for what seemed like a long time until someone finally greeted us even though we smiled and made eye contact with the staff several times. We didn't know we could sit anywhere until they said something. We chose one of the fun, pillowed seating areas on the other side of the half wall. Food: Neither of our noodle dishes had any spice. We had both ordered "hot," but I would describe them as mild at best. Luckily the flavors were there and spot-on - still very delicious. The fiance's egg roll was burned, greasy, and tasted off, while mine was still golden and cooked perfectly. I didn't know that could be possible on the same ticket? Finally, from my understanding of the menu, we were supposed to get rice as part of our meal, but it never came and by the time we finished lunch, we were full enough anyway that it didn't matter. Service: The staff seemed hesitant, maybe even awkward. Enough that as our dishes were getting cleared, our server dropped the small bowl containing leftover egg roll sauce and nearly splashed our clothes with sticky ooze. Thankfully, it missed both of us and our mild-mannered server apologized, but he didn't wipe it up before leaving the bill sitting on top of the stickiness. Weird. Ambience: The music played in the background was mellow indie stuff, but the volume was low enough that the silence of the other diners in the restaurant made it seem very awkward. These diners were seated at tables immediately around us, but none of them talked to each other! This silence was made even more acute by the kitchen staff - even they didn't seem to say much back there (we should've been able to hear everything through the open hatch). This made our own voices sound out of place, and it wasn't until two older gentlemen with deeper voices walked in towards the end of our lunch did Thai Paradise finally appear a bit more lively. Maybe the dinner hour isn't as sleepy. We noticed lots of people walking in for their take-out orders. I think if we lived here, we'd do the same and order "super hot" next time. For all the strangeness on our first visit, I'd still recommend it and would come back to give it another chance.

I loved this place!!! I eat Thai food all the time, and was surprised to find a great little Thai place in Ridgway! Friendly staff-it was raining and full, they were promptly drying seats to accommodate everyone. Spice--appropriate Thai spice. I love fire, definitely available if you order Thai hot. A little pricey for small town, not expensive by Denver standards. High quality food. AMAZING seafood!!! Will definitely return if anywhere in the area!!!

If you're in the area, don't miss it. 5 stars all the way. Very small restaurant but very large menu choices. Recommend coconut soup.

Super delicious spot in a small town with not too many options. The Tom Kha was one of the best we have ever had. The curries were very hearty and nicely spiced. They don't skimp on the portions either. Nicely sized to guarantee a doggie bag.

We are out of town visitors and love to try local places where ever we travel. This place came highly recommended and we like Thai, so we thought we would give it a try. We are traveling with our pups and the waitress was not the most welcoming when I asked if they could sit out on the patio with us. However, we were able to sit in the corner with our puppies as long as they were "VERY well behaved and did not bark." My husband and I both order the same dish with same spice level. My dish was MUCH spicier than his and it was pretty expensive overall (we ordered chicken pad Thai). We also ordered an app that never came out. Luckily it wasn't on the bill. When we asked about it, the waitress said "oops, I forgot that" without any other explanation or apologies. It was VERY apparent that the waitress was more eager to wait on the locals that came in (who name dropped their connection with Ralph Lauren) as opposed to us. I generally ALWAYS tip at least 20%, but I just couldn't do it this time.
