Excellent pizza! The crust is incredible. The ingredients are top notch. We ordered the Salicia (spelling?) and the Molto Carne pizza. Both were great. Highly recommend.

I sought out this place. There were raised garden boxes of flowers and such in the dirt streets at the intersection out front. It was busy inside so we took it to the picnic tables out front. The pizza bread was outstanding. It hit the spot with cheesy crispness. The marinara sauce was salty yum. The beer: standard fare. The friendly service was what made the experience all the better. It was efficient and the waitress was nice and pleasant. She offered up history and words of wisdom. Being a small town local place, everybody knew everyone else. So the local banter chatter around the front patio seating area was entertaining, and, maybe slightly profane, creating chortles to my eavesdropping ears. Sometimes it seemed they were speaking a slang that only Ridgway Colorado folk spoke or understood. It was a great experience. Visit. You'll be glad you did.

Beer was ok. Pizza took over an hour. We finally told them to put it boxes so we could leave. It was dece Way too small of a place. Bartender was nice and attentive. Would never go there again though.

Sue is the best server in Ridgeway! All 3 pizzas were great and the beer is fantastic. Pale Ale, IPA and Irish were refreshing! Sat outside and the kids loved it!

Since we found this place, we're never going back to Ouray Brewery. The beer is good, but it's even better at home out of a 32oz can that they sealed in front of you.

Don't want to influence anyone's expectations. But one of the best pizzas I've ever had. Hope to come back on our next ice climbing trips.

We spent a few weeks traveling out west and this was one of our favorite places and we didn't even eat the pizza! We did regret that when, on the last night of our stay there, and the 3rd evening we had been at the restaurant, the bartender told us the the owner enjoys making beer, but pizza is his real passion. The salad was good. The locals go here too, so you can learn some things and meet people, but it is a bit crowded since it is small. Their beer selection was excellent. My husband especially enjoyed the cask beer. Ask if one of their beers is available that way and give it a try. Great little Pub!

These out of towners love this pizza and beer spot. Great, unique pizzas and decent brew. We came here twice during our short stay. It is small on the inside but apparently we timed it correctly because our wait wasn't long. Our server was fantastic too!

We came here after ice climbing to grab a pizza to take back to our cabin. The pub is very small and it was a sunday but it was packed...every chair was occupied with people standing. Didn't matter for us as we were just picking up food but if other people want a quick sit down, you might be waiting a little bit. We each had a beer while waiting and both were good...I don't drink much at all, but mine was tasty (i think Irish light?) The pizza was ok but a tad dry. I felt like there was very little sauce. Ingredients seemed fresh. The dough was dry and a little hard. In summary: recommended. I would come back but might try a different pizza. I had the garlic one...maybe it's better during dining in?

My boyfriend and I were staying with friends in Ridgway for his birthday in early January. After an awesome day in Telluride walking around and enjoying some drinks, we opted to hit up Orvis for a soak (lovely, btw) and then get some pizza and beer. We arrived at the peak hour for dinner, and had to wait at the bar until a table cleared up. The bartender was super friendly and funny. I actually don't really like beer, so when he asked what I liked, I was sure he would balk at my answer and offer me some wine. What surprised me, however, was that he didn't do that at all. I mentioned I liked sours and saisons, and totally understood that they didn't have either. He understood what I liked, taste wise, and offered me s ample of the Irish. It was delicious! Usually people give up and I end up drinking some cheap red blend with a kangaroo on the label. But this guy not only knew his beer, he also cared that I enjoyed my experience. We didn't mind waiting for the table and the pizza and salad we ordered were well worth the wait. Very delicious on both ends. It's a small place - only a handful of tables and the bar. I recommend going either before the dinner hour or slightly after. And if you end up having to wait, I highly doubt you'll even notice. Thanks again for the hospitality! We loved our experience!

I wish Taco Del Gnar and Colorado Boy were side by side with a door between them. But this isn't a perfect world, so we'll have to do the best that we can. Every year I visit Ridgway, there's something new. It's been a couple years for Colorado Boy now I think, and I have been remiss in writing my review. Short and simple: so damn good. The beer is incredibly smooth and flavorful. Every day the beers on tap change (a little bit). Every single one of them is excellent. I don't usually like an IPA - not a fan of that really bitter taste - but the Colorado IPA has changed my playing field. Anywho... I tried to bring 2 growlers back to Los Angeles with me, and as expected, they didn't quite live up the fresh at-the-pub standard. The beer is alive in the glass, and I knew that it might "die" a little bit in transit. I think this is a good thing, because I'll continue to drop by year after year when I visit again. You guys rock, thanks.

Update: before leaving Montrose we enjoyed their pizza from the Montrose location it was what we remembered from Ridgeway in 2013. Would increase the star rating but it wouldn't be for this location. Hopefully the owners will notice the recent bad pizza reviews coming out of your kitchen in Ridgeway.

A great location in sleepy Ridgway! Cute from the inside out and fantastic food and beer to boot! English Pub Ale and Irish Red were our favorites while devouring a whole Home Pie. Tipped off with their specialty flour less chocolate pie - it was a great night! Their homemade chili oil is delicious when paired with the home pie, but recommend pouring on a plate and dipping as it comes out a little fast. The staff is wonderful and friendly - definitely make you feel like a local. They have a small merchandise stand where you can buy some tees or ball caps, and also an bring home some growlers of their brew for great prices. Only downfall was the space. It is very small and when it's a busy night you can tell. But it's a great opportunity to rub elbows with the locals and get the scoop on great trails, things to do and see, and take in that small town vibe.

I've lived in town for the past 3 winters and come by here once a week to have a beer. My best advice would be that you should never come here hungry unless you want to eat the pizza. The smell of it is irresistible and it does taste amazing as well. the garlic and the pesto are the best and tastiest, but I've liked every different one I have tried. The Pub Ale and the IPA are the most flavorful beers in my opinion. Whatever is on cask is usually good too. Sometimes the seasonal beers are a little bland for my taste. The only downside to this place is how crowded it can get...not a pig deal if you are by yourself, but if you have a family get there by 4:30 or it's sometimes a long wait for a table. Can't fault a place too much for being popular! Went there last night and had 2 beers and a pizza for $15! Can't do too much better than that these days.

If I lived anywhere near Ridgway (or Montrose) I would be a serious regular at Colorado Boy Pub & Brewery, and I can't even drink beer. But this place is so fantastic and warm and inviting that I can't imagine growing tired of it. I just spent a week in beautiful Colorado near Telluride, and on our last evening, we decided to indulge in incredible pizza and locally brewed beverages at Colorado Boy. We'd seen on Yelp (and on their website) that they serve GF pizza, so we figured it'd be the perfect place to spend our final night of vacation. We also learned that they only have 25 seats available, and when we called to ask about reservations (they don't take them), we were politely told to have a "plan B" just in case 30 parties showed up before us. That sounded a bit scary, especially since it was a Friday night, but we only had to wait about 30 minutes or so for our party of 10 to get two tables. I was happy to be seated outside where you could look out into the mountains and enjoy the beautiful, cool, summer air. Such perfect weather! The inside of Colorado Boy is TINY. Super warm and very close quarters with a kitchen, bar, a few tables and booths, giant brew kettles where they make their own beer, and a little place to buy souvenir t-shirts, growlers, and pint glasses. It's awesome and happy and fun inside, but if the weather is right, I'd recommend waiting for an outdoor table where you have a bit more breathing room. Now for the food. Oh my gosh. These are some beautiful pizzas with some awesome ingredient combinations. They have your classic cheese, pepperoni, and margherita if you're not feeling too adventurous (house made mozzarella, yes please), but they also have options like the Salsicia with mushrooms, sausage, and goat cheese; the BLT with garlic olive oil, cheese, bacon, Gorgonzola, spring mix, and fresh tomato; and the pizza I ordered - the Rustica, with Gorgonzola, artichoke hearts, garlic oil, cheese, roasted peppers, and capicollo ham. Whoa. Now my pizza (on their house made gluten-free crust, which was delicious) was much thinner than everyone else's, but to me it was perfect. The flavors were bold and spicy and fresh, and I 100% recommend it! I also had some of the Spring Creek salad to start (goat cheese, walnuts, dried cranberries, spring lettuce). Gorgeous and so simple. Really delicious. Colorado Boy has several house-brewed beers of course, but they also make their own root beer and serve Snow Capped Cider, which is made in Cedaredge and tastes wonderful! Our waiter was incredibly friendly and so laid back. The kind of guy who likes to talk and joke, doesn't write down orders but remembers them, is very attentive, but isn't overbearing. He told us that he invented the BLT pizza, which is pretty brilliant! I'd return to Colorado Boy in a heartbeat. :)

My favorite brewery in Western Colorado! Their Irish Red is top notch and their IPA is awesome, especially when hops are in season and fresh from the farm. Hand tossed pizzas from the wood fire oven and great salads as well. If you feel like beer and pizza, it's definitely the place to go.

  • Kevin H.

Driving up to Telluride? Bored of the long drive? Swing by this brewery for a beer or two. They've got great stuff there. Their IPA and blonde ale were especially good. The place is small, but it's quaint, and it's surrounded by some fun arts / antiques shops to explore. Also, we did not eat anything here (except the free popcorn), but the flatbread pizza looked great!

Often fairly crowded with locals, because the beer is FANTASTIC. Smooth and tasty for sure. I've never eaten there, but I hear the pizza is good. If you like well crafted microbrew, this is THE place in the area for it.

  • Jenine D.

Brick-oven pizzas, craftsman beer, and a full lineup of characters make this one-room brewery the talk & charm of this true Western town. An awesome place to grab dinner after any number of nearby amazing hikes, even--especially--if you're flying solo. I came on a busy Friday evening, found the last remaining seat at the bar, and was forced to abandon my magazine when a neighbor two seats down poked me and insisted I try his fennel-sausage pizza while I waited for mine. At first I refused, but seriously, how long can you say no to a smiling old man and a delicious creation of cheese and dough? After sampling the brewery's porter, which I found to be rich and chocolatey, the bartender recommended I try their "refreshing" blend of said porter and their lager. Having never been in a place where the establishment actually mixes beer for you, I was intrigued and wound up really enjoying my special brew. While eating my pizza (my Mediterranean didn't quite measure up to the fennel sausage), I caught up on all the live music happening over the next week, descriptions and latest incidents involving a couple of the crazy landlords in town, and general Ridgway gossip. Take all that, add the picturesque sidewalk seating, where should it be full, you're welcome to bring your own lawn chairs and expand the section (be warned, though, there's no awning and should it rain, you'll be standing with plate in hand crammed like sardines inside)...and we have my favorite destination in Ridgway.

We stopped in after climbing in the Ouray Ice Park and were blown away. Not only does this place have the best micro-brewed beer around, their pizza is absolutely AMAZING! This isn't just great mountain town food, this establishment could hold its own as a great pizza and beer place in any foodie haven. The only aspect of the place I found to be lacking, was the limited amount of space. Given the quality of food that they are producing at a steal of a deal, it should pretty much guarantee a packed house any day of the week. My advice would be to get there early, the limited seating and popularity with the locals had the place totally full by 5:00pm the Friday we visited.

Great pizza, and they even have a local egg cracked in the middle as an option which is really quite delicious. I had the fennel sausage pie with an egg and the Pale Ale on Cask. Mmmm...

Absolutely outstanding experience. I have never been this satisfied at a restaurant/brewery similar to this. The service was excellent!! Very friendly and accommodating. They serve only pizza---the best pizza I have ever had!! Simple and delightful. We live 6 hours from here and we will DEFINITELY be returning. The prices are excellent! This place has done an incredible job with their food, beer, management, and staff! Thanks!

This place appears to run the town of Ridgway...literally. The mayor bartends here regularly. As far as brews go, the small-batch beers are wicked good, most notably the ESB and IPA. The menu is limited to pizza, but these are some handcrafted gems with creative and tasty ingredients/toppings (I hear they import the flour for the dough from Italy). The space is as tiny as you can get, only about 25 seats or so and a limited patio, but very cozy and inviting. Wish we had one o' these in Phoenix! TIP- don't forget to ask for a free bowl of popcorn, and don't go on Mondays (they're closed).

    (5)
  • Jared G.

I use to love stopping here after a hike. All of the beers I have tried here are really good. He definitely knows how to brew beer. The free popcorn is a plus and it is really good.. I usually eat way too much. Only complaint is that I wish it was open more hours since I seemed to miss it being open after a lot of hikes. Also tough to get a seat if it's even remotely busy.

    (5)
  • Justin W.

They were out of the blonde and Irish red (their two most popular) but the porter and summer ales were just heavenly. The pizza bread was also delicious!

    (5)
  • Matt B.

Don't know what to say about this place. Literally...it's awesome. They have great beers (their IPA is excellent) and they serve incredible popcorn! It's a smaller place with about 6 bar stools and maybe 5 tables. But it's the beer and the atmosphere that make this place great. Have been in on back-to-back nights and lot's of different folks from the community stop in for a pint or to fill up a growler. Very cool spot and the combination of good beer and excellent popcorn make it a great place to stop for a beer.

The only reason that is not five stars is that they need more space. But amazing pizza and beer. The Studio 54 of Ridgway, everyone goes and its always packed, so pick your time wisely and drink up.

Stayed in Ridgway for a few days on vacation last September as part of a UT, CO & NM micro-brewery road trip. In all we hit 9 micro-breweries, and Colorado Boy was our favoriate. We had just finished some "white" water rafting on the Uncompaghre River, and cruised over to COBoy with the intent of having "a few" beers. The brews were all fantastic (my girl loved the Porter so much I lost count of how many she drank) and we pretty much shut the place down. We were kind of fixtures at the bar while other people were coming and going, and we met a lot of friendly folks during the course of the evening as they were stopping in for a growler or a pint. Got to know the aprentice brewmaster a little, and he had a couple of beers with us. Aparently there was a meeting of the minds that evening -- the operators or brewmasters from most of the breweries in the area (including New Belgium) were drinking at Colorado Boy. If you like beer, stop here & have some.

I was so excited to try this place out and was so disappointed not only in the pizza which was mad salty but the people who run this place were so rude. The beer is great however.

My husband and I were visiting the Orvis Hot Springs recently and ate here on our first night in town. Normally I wouldn't go for pizza since I work at a pizza place, but the pickins in Ridgway are slim and I wasn't gonna turn down house brews! The beers were delicious. Loved the Irish Red, the Pale Ale, and the Scottish Stout. For pizza I had The Garlic and my husband had Sweet Tomato. They really know their oven well as there were no burn marks on either of our pizzas. Both were so good we came back for a second time and had the spinach salad (loooved the pesto vin) and shared the fennel sausage pizza, which was definitely the best of the three we had. I also really love that you can get just a half pint of beer (or a whole jug!) so little people like me can try out all the beers and still make it home safely. ;) if I ever find myself in your small town again will surely visit!

Spent the weekend in Ridgway and debated between the Ouray brewery and Colorado Boy. Glad we stayed in Ridgway! Menu only has pizzas, but they are very good. I enjoyed the Blonde and Pilsner beer. Would recommend! Only downfall is the hours - 4-9 daily.

    (5)
  • Vance T.

The IPA is deadly. Outside the milky way galaxy, to put it lightly. It's not as hoppy as some, but very well balanced. The blonde is also a very well designed and a quite brilliant lager. I'm not interested in food when I indulge at a brewery. L.V. Thompson

Thanks!

IPA was unbelievable and Irish red one the beer cask ( order whatever is on the cask). Pizza and spinach salad was the bomb!

Awesome pizza and great beer! Adam is one of the most knowledgable bartenders in SW Colorado. Very unique for SW Colorado.

If you come near Ridgway and don't stop at Colorado Boy, you will regret it, maybe not today, but eventually. Beer and pizza are wonderful. Don't miss out.

If you're not a local here, don't expect to be acknowledged. You get the feeling you are not welcome.

Amazing beer. Amazing pizza. Not much else to say but you need to go here! They know what they are doing.

Often fairly crowded with locals, because the beer is FANTASTIC. Smooth and tasty for sure. I've never eaten there, but I hear the pizza is good. If you like well crafted microbrew, this is THE place in the area for it.

The IPA is deadly. Outside the milky way galaxy, to put it lightly. It's not as hoppy as some, but very well balanced. The blonde is also a very well designed and a quite brilliant lager. I'm not interested in food when I indulge at a brewery. L.V. Thompson

They were out of the blonde and Irish red (their two most popular) but the porter and summer ales were just heavenly. The pizza bread was also delicious!
