I absolutely loved this hotel. The staff was extremely friendly, location was gorgeous, breakfast was yummy and inside this beautiful dining area with trees and a fountain overlooking the mountains. Our room overlooked mountains with a hot tub on the balcony. One of the best hotel stays I have ever had! Worth Worth the trip if you are wanting to visit telluride.

I've never really stayed at a resort/spa before so I didn't really know what to expect when my fiancee and I came here. We purchased the groupon and so we got a pretty good deal and then also decided to upgrade to a room with a hot-tub which was pretty worth it. The room itself was really unique and well decorated as well as very spacious and comfortable. The view from our private patio was amazing and the weather was perfect so we spent quite a bit of time out there. The atmosphere is super relaxed and inviting, and it is also pretty small so there weren't that many people around which was nice. We swam in the heated pool and had only 1 or 2 other people around us once and another time there was nobody at all. Everything here is beautifully done and perfect for a relaxed getaway if you are the type that can live without at TV in your room and enjoy being left alone. We also had a couples massage which was really nice, but I'm not sure how it compares as it was my first one ever. I sure liked it though! Awesome experience, beautiful setting.

I found this place in the 5280 magazine and decided to head down there with my boyfriend. They have many different packages to choose from. We chose the one with lift tickets to Telluride and the hot springs. I wold definatly recommend staying here. The staff is friendly and very helpful.

Wow! I just got home yesterday from a weekend stay at the lodge with my fiance. We stayed in room 304 which was a one bedroom condo. They provided everything we needed in the kitchen for the two nights (pots, pans, dishes, silverware, utensils, cups, coffee maker, etc...). We were worried about not bringing our fan because we like moving air but to our surprise, there was a ceiling fan in the living room and bedroom. It had everything for a romantic getaway... a whirlpool tub for two under a skylight, a steamer shower, a private jacuzzi, a fireplace... just lovely. We also had a couples massage with Wyndham and Kay- so professional and personable! Nicole at the front desk and Kristin with the Spa were very helpful as well! We did have a bit of a scare with a loose air vent so maintenance had to come fix the issue but it ended up working out very nice- he was just finishing as we got back from our massage. It was very reassuring that our condo was entered twice (one by housekeeping and one by maintenance) and nothing ever went missing (we had our cell phones, car keys, wallets and cash laying out on the counter). There were only two suggestions I had- 11AM was kind of an early check-out (versus 12 or 1) but everyone should know that they were willing to work with us to offer a check-out closer to noon. We ended up leaving on time anyway :) The other thing was the bed- very uncomfortable, unfortunately. The only thing that made it bearable was the pillow top sheet on top of the mattress. It was very springy and my fiance has a bad shoulder so he woke up sore. We will return again but will make a note to bring our own memory foam mattress topper. I would give this a 4.5 if available :)

I love Chipeta spa and go there every time I go to the mountains. They have great message options and a very nice facility. The recently added pool and salt water hot tub are a nice addition. I've never stayed at the lodge but I think this would be a wonderful place for a spa weekend. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is because each time I am there, something is not working. On my latest visit, the wonderful meditation room was cold (the fireplace was not working to warm the room) which was a major disappointment as I love to relax in this room. Also, the hot water tank in the spa is small. Someone had left the shower running in the steam sauna and all of the hot water was used up by the time I needed to shower. A solution was found by having me use the shower in the workout facility. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful but it was still a disappointment to have to walk outside in the cold. Overall, I love this place!

Kind of hippyish. Definitely not my style. I'm more of the Embassy Suites free happy hour type. Man, did that hippy blanket on the bed stink. I haven't smelled anything quite like that since I lived in Bellingham and smelled those Neo-Bohemians on a far too regular basis. Chipeta's within walking distance to True Grit Café which makes it a little more passable. My room had no AC but the portable fan and open window helped. No TV either but to tell you the truth I didn't even miss it. Nice that they provided deodorant and a razor. Advice for hippy guest maybve? Apparently, Chipeta is famous enough to make it into the Denver Museum of Nature & Science.

Very cool adobe Style hotel...lots of water features, patios, stairways and hidden verandas to relax and get lost in..this was a very cool and unique place. Heated solar pool and hot tub. Four corners cafe onsite looked good, but we didn't eat there. Weekend nights they have live music on the rooftop bar. Highly recommended

This idyllic getaway in beautiful Ridgway is our new favorite place to relax. The staff are so friendly and attentive, it is central for Telluride and Ouray outings and the spa is very tastefully planned and serene. We visited in the low season, sat by the fireplace at night, enjoyed the solar heated atrium in the day and walked to Kate's Place each morning for breakfast.

A spirit of generosity pervades this place and its lovely setting with the San Juan mountains as a back drop. The staff were kind and helpful and our rooms were designed to please. The spa, which is very comprehensive, and the outside hot tub with its beautiful view added to our sense of relaxation. A nice complementary continental breakfast sent us on our way as we sadly left this place, named after the honorable and much revered Ute, Chipeta.

I'm reviewing Chipeta's Four Corners Restaurant which we visited last week. The rooftop views of Mt. Sneffels and the Cimmarons are fabulous, but the dining experience was quite disappointing. Our waitress, who was quite nice, informed us that "we are out of chicken and out of salads." This was at 7 pm! Out of salads! My husband and his friend ordered hamburgers and the waitress came back to tell us there was only one left. My husband got the hamburger and asked for it medium rare - it came well done. I ordered pasta with "roasted seasonal vegetables," and it came with four thin slices of sauteed (not roasted) zucchini and 4 cherry tomatoes. This was $13 and did not come with a salad or anything else. After dinner, our friend asked for a kaluha and cream, but the bartender said, "we're fresh out of kaluha." So we sat around the fire ring nursing our glasses of wine, when a manager came to tell us they were closing and we had to leave! Wow! What a disappointing experience. even our waitress felt embarrassed. The lodge is lovely (I honeymooned there 5 years ago), but the restaurant definitely needs a new manager ASAP.

This review is based on the Lodge only, and not the spa or the on-site cafe or bar. We spent a few nights at the Chipeta Sun Lodge and were honestly disappointed with the experience. The Great: - Location. A quick walk has you in the heart of Ridgway where you can find restaurants, cafes and shops. There's also a lovely park just across the street. - A beautiful salt pool that is narrow and long, great for doing laps. The Average: o Price was typical for this type of Lodge. o Adequate parking. The Poor: - Our room was stuffy and lacked circulation. If you shut the exterior door and left the window open it was pretty stuffy, even with the fan going. The small portable swamp cooler didn't make a dent. - Pillows were terrible. They were thin, small and lacked any sort of support. - Thin towels. Were they just old? Either way, unacceptable. I'd expect these type of towels in a Motel 6, not a Lodge & Spa. - Terrible mattress. Fairly thin, hard, and uncomfortable. I absolutely love firm beds, but this was simply a lack of quality. Once again, I'd expect something like this from a cheap chain. - Slow sink. The sink drained extremely slowly in the bathroom. You'd think that the person cleaning the room would notice and fix this issue. - Flimsy locks. I didn't feel very confident in the doors staying locked while we were away. I know that we were in a cheaper room, but the deficiencies were over the top and made it a completely sub par experience.

This lodge has a beautiful backdrop with the mountains. We checked in and received a short tour of the complex amenities, which included a pool, salt-water hot tub, steam room, sauna, free coffe/tea/cookies, and a spa and restaurant on site. Our room was nice and had some unique decorations (2 sinks, one with a mosaic of fish and the other with cactuses. There was a private balcony with a hot tub and a table with 2 chairs. However, we could not find the light switch to turn on the balcony light. The bed was comfortable and the shower was spacious. The room was set up like a studio and the bathroom was not fully enclosed. There were robes you could use while you were there and could purchase them for $50. The spa treatments were pretty pricy, but the massage we received was great. Ask for Tracy.

What a beautiful place. I would defiantly stay here if I were in the area. Unfortunately I only toured the property and spent the night on their roof top patio having drinks and enjoying the night life that was very lively for such a small town. The drinks were good and the atmosphere was amazing. This would be a perfect romantic getaway location for sure.

the lodge is old. the room was my problem. i was on the third floor and there was a terribl noise and vibration. I went to the front desk after 2 hours of this noise. they told me it was the bathroom vent in the room below us. they said they would call and take care of this. "But they were busy so put up with it". I asked for a room change but was told no. tehy were not full but would not accomodate us. finally I left the room and went to dinner in the cafe which was just poor. chicken breast over done. when we finally returned to our room it was quite. went to bed early and was woken to the same noise at 7:30am. what a calming spas. they don't care..... finally I spoke with one person who didn't like my attitude but felt sorry for us. we were about to check out so she credited 1/2 our room feee. lousy place.
