Really friendly service. You can tell they actually care about your business. All the food was top notch. Very pleased.

Based on this experience I cannot recommend this place. I am a big drunken noodle fan. I have had the dish all over the country and know me some drunken noodle. I would not call this drunken noodle, it used some sort of brown sauce and was just bland and kinda weird. The broccoli tasted fishy and was not fresh and the noodles were about half the width of what normal drunken noodles are supposed to be. The star to me of a good drunken noodle dish is mint leaves and they were far and few in between and they were completely killed by the weird sauce. I phoned in my order and it was very difficult. I wanted to know how much it was and I couldnt get a straight answer, I asked him multiple times for the price and he kept asking for my phone number and just talked to me like I called him at his home and was interrupting him. A lady then came on and answered questions somewhat but again trying to get information about the dish was like pulling teeth. When I walked in my first clue this place maybe would not be good was seeing a table that a group had just left and most everyones plate had 1/2 to 1/4 of food left on their plate. I know how they felt cause at about 3/4 of the way through forcing myself to eat it, I simply could not eat anymore due to the horrible unpalatable flavors. Wont go back, there is a sushi place a few more miles east on 120th whose drunken noodle dish blows this place away.

Got take out pad thai. Told them spicy but it ended up being sickeningly sweet with not spicy what so ever. I seriously had a attack craving in the middle of the night, drove across town and was truly disappointed when I got home and ate. Noodles were soggy too :(

Sesame chicken and coconut soup are always good. All white chicken in the seasame. Wife has combination lo mien and loved it. Good place to eat at but delivery shows up cold and soggy.

Very surprised to find this gem in Northglenn - of all places! Excellent Thai food. Excellent, considerate service. Cozy ambience - possible date restaurant. I had the curry chicken with peanut sauce, and my girlfriend had the sesame chicken. I had leftovers to last me two more meals. And for the price? Awesome. I've eaten here only once but will definitely be coming back.

The most un-happy thai food ever. I ordered a to-go Thai Fried rice with Shrimp , but there is no Shrimp in the food. The rice has not been mixed properly as there are lumps of rice with white color. I had requested for spicy but it turns out that the fried rice does not have any spicy content in it. The food is also sticky and i can say this is the worst Thai food i had ever tasted. Definitely will not go there again. Am forced to give rating and hence the single star else i would not have given it.

This place is very tasty! I come here quite often for lunch, definitely affordable and you'll probably still leave with leftovers (which I love!) I often get the drunken noodles and it comes in this huge bowl for less than $8. I've had a few of their stir frys - all of which have been very tasty. You need to stop by and try!

Ordered take out green curry chicken and the curry wasn't thick, it was more liquidy and soup like. Hardly had any bell peppers but had a lot of onions, bamboo and jalapeños. I'm assuming it's because bell peppers are pricey. There was also no basil in this entree which was disappointing. Tasted very bland and only ate a quarter of it. They also don't use real Thai chili peppers but red pepper flakes and jalapeños if you wanted spice. Chicken slices were large and chunky which I'd prefer smaller and thinly sliced. There were also chucks of onions which again I'd prefer thin sliced. I would not come here again or recommend it. If you like green curry or authentic Thai food I suggest Thai House in Arvada on 80th and Sheridan, they use real Thai chili peppers. Enough said.

Great Thai food! Small restaurant but service is fine and food is really good. Love the crab wontons as an appetizer. And the curry is very flavorful. Good stuff!

My wife and I are both foodies and I assure you we know good Thai food. It's not the best I've had anywhere but is the best of at least 10 different Thai restaurants in the Denver Metro area and better than most in L.A. (where we used to live) and other major cities as we both travel extensively, We live in Thornton and are glad it's so close and are here at least weekly we've had just about everything on the menu. Here's a tip for anyone who likes it hotter. My wife's a spice wimp and I like it pretty hot. The Cocont Chicken soup is tasty but was a little bland to me until I asked if they could make it spicier...WOW...what a difference.

We have eaten here a few times and I have always been pleased with the food and the service. The dinner portions are good sized. I always go for the Thai basil chicken dish.

Order takeout a couple times per month. Always friendly and fast service. I always get Green Curry with chicken - always hot and just enough spiciness!!

The food is fresh and flavorful. Exceptional service. No reason to wait in line at the fast food or chain restaurants nearby. Go to Thai Basil!

We've eaten here a few times and each time I feel a bit disappointed, because I just never get what I am hoping for. I usually get the sesame chicken and each time I feel like it doesn't taste freshly made, I just don't think it's hand breaded or anything, it tastes a bit premade. It is still decent, I just wouldn't order it again. Today I got the Pineapple Curry (Thai Hot) and I eat curry a lot, this one was not my favorite but also not the worst that I've had (I've had one that was worse). The chicken was sweet and pineapple-y in flavor, the curry itself was spicy but not flavorful. It didn't have any real flavor to it, other than a bit of pineapple and the heat flavor. This was my final try for this place, I wouldn't come here again because it is always just meh, and never overly good.

I sought out this establishment, curious after seeing mixed reviews online, and desperately wanting to find a local restaurant that offered high quality Thai food--no matter the price. The north burbs did not seem to have such a place -- and unfortunately, after visiting Thai Basil, we're still in the same place. The owner was quite welcoming and attentive when I arrived to review the take out menu, which made me feel welcomed and hopeful. I was seated to review the menu, and offered water while I reviewed the menu, which I considered a courtesy and appreciated. When I was ready to order, someone arrived to take the order promptly--another plus. Was feeling really great about this place. I ordered lemongrass mussels, chicken satay, and coconut soup to go. While I appreciate the kind service, the first reason restaurants exist and have patronage is because people are hungry and want a good meal that--for whatever reason-- they aren't responsible for cooking. Maybe they don't have time. Maybe they don't know how to cook the dish. Maybe they just don't want to. but regardless of the reason, people who go to restaurants want 1) a good meal and a 2) good deal, and are willing to pay for that. A good meal and a good deal include the quantity and quality of food and the service, and I believe, in that order.. To speak to the value of the good meal: 1) The quantities were fair. 2) To speak to the quality: The chicken satay was the worst I have ever had, and I have had many a chicken satay. The chicken was flavorless, overcooked, and tasted like what I would imagine the tongue of a sneaker would taste like. The peanut sauce was thick, grainy and practically flavorless, as well. Just really the worst I have ever had. The temperature of it was cool, rather than warm. Very, very un- recommended. 3) The lemongrass mussels had an excellent flavor--really nice spice blend and super yummy flavor, but the mussels were tough/ super overcooked, and the broth was oily, really spoiling the cook's talent in spice blend. 4) The soup was generous in some yummy mushrooms abut also (way undercooked) 2-inch onion chunks, in a "broth" that I believe was simply coconut milk and nothing more. I wish this place had the food quality that equaled their kind and quality service, which would give them 5 stars, easily. As it is, Thai Basil needs to review their recipes and the quality of the food.

Ordered my usual hangover Chinese this past Sunday and it was bomb digg. Not just because of the hangover, but I've tried a lot of the Chinese/Thai places nearby and for some reason it's impossible for them to get Pad Thai right. The spring rolls were amazing and the wontons were great, pretty standard. The shrimp in my pad Thai was perfect. Definitely going back next time!

  • S H.

This is a great option for take out. I always order the same thing but the quality can vary. I've had fresh good spring rolls and also not so fresh. I also have to request peanut sauce that is plain. They replaced with a spicy sauce with their spring rolls.

  • Molly C.

I went at 12:20 and there was no one there. However when I left at 1, there were 6 other people. Water had no ice but the slice of lime was nice. Food was very fast. I had spring rolls and Thai fried rice. I could have just had spring rolls and been full! Overall very good. Lots of shrimp in rice and curry was spicy but just enough.

The service here is outstanding! We watched our waiter hustle and do everything by himself with a great smile & attitude. The food portion is more than generous and arrives hot. We have had takeout here in the past and this too was quick and hot - with a genuine smile from the staff. Thank you for a great lunch and we look forward to trying other items from the menu.

I was extremely sad when I moved out of my usual Chinese/Vietnamese foods delivery route. I have been trying to find a new "go to" chinese food delivery option. Thai Basil was recommended by everyone at my work so I thought that I would give it a try. I am so happy that I did! I love their food. They have options for how spicy that you can get your food. I always get mine Thai Hot. I get delivery from here at least once a week. It is the fastest deliver I have ever had. They say 30-45 minutes, but usually its 20. Bangkok Chicken is my favorite, along with the Chicken Satay. I love Thai Basil!

Really delicious authentic Thai. I had the chicken satay and Penang curry, both were excellent! Small restaurant and quiet. Very clean and the staff was attentive. We went with a group of girlfriends and everyone enjoyed their meal.

YUM! I'm only giving this place 4 stars because of some of the other spots I've been to (for comparison), but man! Delicious food, really nice staff, good prices. I had the sesame tofu and the flavors were so tangy and perfect. Also had the Vietnamese spring rolls, what a ridiculous peanut sauce! I would definitely recommend this spot.

My husband and I were traveling on I25 and found this cute little restaurant on yelp. Craving Thai food, we decided to give it a try. Glad we did! While a small joint in a strip mall, the food and service was outstanding! Will return for the chicken coconut soup and pad thai.

We have been here several times over the past year and a half and every time we have been very pleased with the food and service. The portions are generous and the service is attentive. Tonight we had the Shitake Mushroom Duck and it was wonderful. The duck stood up to the savory sauce and the shrooms and veggies added a complementary texture. This place will continue to be on our list as a go to neighborhood Asian eats.

Absolutely delicious! The best fried rice I have had in a long time and my hubby inhaled his panang curry. We are new to the area and are so happy to find this gem. And the kind delivery driver forged the snow for our delivery which was exceptionally kind. We will be repeat customers for many lunches to come. Thank you!!

My friend and I came here for lunch. She had tom yum soup and pad thai. I had beef with basil (can't remember the name). According to my friend, it tasted pretty authentic. According to me, it's very tasty. Service was friendly, food arrived pretty fast. Would like to visit again.

Absolutely appalling service. The server stood behind a different table to take our order as if he was either scared of us or didn't want to he serving us at all. It seemed more like a chore to him to be there than a pleasure to wait on only the third table in there. Sure the food came swiftly but I actually asked if they could wait to bring one of our items out while I waited for my husband who had to leave for 10 minutes. I was told "no...you already ordered it". I asked if they could just keep it in the back to keep it warm until my husband came back. "No, you already ordered." So the food was brought out so all I could do is put a napkin over it to keep it warm. The seaweed salad made me feel nauseous after 2bites. It is the oiliest I've ever had...and the whole experience has put a horrible taste in my mouth and a real damper on an otherwise fantastic experience of the Denver restaurant scene. Ps. My husband still hasn't even retired yet so this is my experience just 15 minutes in. A very unhappy customer. We won't be coming back.

Fantastic Thai in the suburban food mecca which is Thornton :) Oh what a surprise it is when you find a hidden jewel such as Thai Basil. I was tired of going to my other Thai place so yelped around and found this place. I have now visited several times doing either Pad Thai or Drunken Noodles with a variety of proteins, chicken, Beef, shrimp.. and combo. All were very tasty and the price point provides a top notch value. So visit this Thai joint. Be pleasantly surprised and leave with a happy food smile!

Lunch was only $7.95. The price alone is worth sitting down for. I sat down for the Pineapple Curry, a sweet, thick penang with colorful crisp peppers and fresh-cooked basil. It was really good. Like lick-the-metal-bowl-it-comes-in-good. Thai Basil may be the most generic name you can give a Thai restaurant, but the food is anything but.

I just moved back from Hawaii, where amazing Thai food is all over, so I was skeptical to even try Thai here. I was pleasantly surprised by Thai Basil! The staff is very friendly. I'm always offered a glass of water or soup when I come for pick up and it's not ready. My favorite dish is the drunken noodles with tofu. The flavor is great and the spice is just right. My boyfriend orders the lemon chicken and really likes it (he's also from Hawaii and never really cared for Thai). This is my go to for Thai in the Thornton area!

Tried for the first time. Took a to-go of fried rice, lo mein and green curry. All entries are consistently worst. I heard of this place very great so tried on the Friday evening and ended up making food at home. Guessing chef might have been changed recently or some other reason, entrees not so tasty. Mainly it is about the spice levels, asked for lo mein noodles as spicy but got it mild. And other entries I have asked for medium and they are very mild. Now I dont dare to try again.

A strip mall gem. We've eaten in a couple of times and had delivery several times from Thai Basil. The food is better at the restaurant, there's a bit of sogginess that starts to happen with their appetizer plate from being delivered in styrofoam - but it's still my go to starter order. Their entrees are consistently good quality, the heat is consistent between visits so I'm not getting American mild one visit and Thai hot the next. Service in the restaurant has been good both times we went, and delivery times are usually right around a half hour.

Went there yesterday for lunch and would definitely return. I had Pad Thai and my wife had Royal Chicken. Both were very good and were huge portions. The service was friendly and fast. The waitress was very helpful and had suggestions for our next visit. Small place but wasn't loud and the tables are not crowded together. Reasonably priced and good variety on the menu. We both liked it and look forward to our next time there.

Smaller place max capacity is 35. Nice decor! Cloth napkins! Fancier than most other same type of food ambience. Food temp is good= freshly made. Attentive, friendly and smiley face waitress. Unique dinnerware. Lunch about $8, portion is a little on the lighter side. Chicken has a bit of after taste which could be associated with previously frozen meats? Not sure about that, but verall a pleasant experience will go back and try different dishes.

Moving here from Japan and having some great Thai food there, my husband and I were a little nervous to try this place. But there were many great reviews on Yelp and when we went, it was packed. We ordered the crab cream cheese wontons, dumplings, sriracha beef and sesame chicken. We were very pleased with everything we ordered. The portions were very generous, so we took leftovers home. On our way out, we picked up a takeout menu. The deliver as well, which is always plus! And for their happy hour, they have $0.50 bud heavy and budlight! I'm sure we'll be back!

Now having experienced so much Thai in California, I was hesitant, but looking forward to trying some Colorado Thai. Sadly, I didn't end up actually eating Thai, I ended up ordering their Vietnamese vermicelli dish. I was pleasently surprised and delighted! I have recently become obsessed with vietnamese and was sad to see that they did not have my usual yellow curry, so I ordered it. It was delicious and the fish sauce had a nice kick to it, which I haven't experienced before. As well, I topped off my meal with a delicious Thai tea, which is very difficult to mess up. If I am ever in the area, or decide to move out that way, I would definitely make this one of my go-to restaurants, so you should definitely check it out!

My friend and I come here for lunch on a regular basis. The host is super friendly and attentive (their lunch hour is quiet). The food comes fast. I usually get the Pad Thai which is delicious!!! The first time I went I got something else that I can't remember but I remember it being delicious too! We got a piece of cake one time and that was equally delicious!

Great spot in Thornton for Thai. This location has partial menu to the Thai Basil in Denver but all the favorites. You can't go wrong with their Pad Thai or curry. Also love the spring rolls. Great prices and very clean. Give this place a try! We want to keep them open so we don't have to drive to Denver :)

I was hoping when I received a flyer for this place it would be something new and good. Menu looked great, food sounded good food was BAD!!!. Terrible in fact, overcooked, under seasoned and did I mention AWFUL. Spent $44 dollars and could have eaten better anywhere else... I will stick to my old favorite.. Ooka on 120th and main, if you are looking here for advice go there

I must just say wow! Never ate here until yesterday. I'm just not ever in the area. Luckily my friend had the idea for Thai food while we decided to catch up with one another. I always wanted to try it, just never was around here. When I first arrived I noticed it was small, maybe around a dozen tables each seating 2 or able to move around for bigger parties. The staff was friendly and were on top of things. I ordered the staple Thai food, which was pad thai. I prefer beef, but they had chicken or shrimp or a combination. We also ordered the chicken satay for appetizer. The appetizer was very delicious and is also a classic to Thai restaurants. It always comes with a peanut sauce which was on point as well. My pad thai was the star though! I've eaten at many Thai places and this is the best I've had! My opinion comes from the softness of the noodles and the consistency of them. Some places cook them very runny from the sauce which I really do not like. The only very minor thing I did not expect was their thai hot spiciness level. If you do not know Thai restaurant cook their levels from mild, medium, hot and thai hot. The thai hot that I love and always order makes my nose run and lips and mouth just burn...but I love that feeling! I call it an adventure for my food! But Thai Basil's thai hot was not that hot, just in case you prefer really spicy foods. This was only minor, but other than that, the food was excellent!! Please eat here, take out or have delivery. I will definitely be back for their delicious food!

I went in to Thai Basil for lunch today and I am taking away two stars from my previous review. Though the pad thai somehow tasted better today, the service was terrible! The server was so rude to us! She did not hide her annoyance that we needed a few minutes to look the menu order. She would walk away as she was talking so you couldn't hear her, and in general was short and rude with us. I honestly don't think I'll be back. Time to try a new thai place.

First of all, I ordered delivery and was super impressed with how fast my food arrived! I live on 104th and they said it would be about 30-45 minutes but the food got here in 15 minutes and it was HOT. the food all arrived very nicely packaged with none if it spilling out of the containers or anything like that. There were also an insane amount of food with the very healthy portion sizes. As far as the flavors of the food go, I'm not too impressed. I will say that the crab rangoon was very good and the sweet and sour sauce that came with it was great. The sesame chicken was so-so and the fried rice and egg roll that came with it were less than appetizing. The thai spring rolls were okay on their own but I didn't like the peanut sauce which had an overpowering lemongrass flavor. The thai fried rice was pretty good but I've had better. For the price though, this was still better than I expected. I'll definitely give them another try sometime.

This place had great lunch specials and HUGE dinner portions. We can bring our daughter here for dinner and all of us can eat to point of being stuffed with just two dishes. We always order the pad thai because it's our favorite, but we also order a beef dish or a vegetable one as well. Order anything on the menu - it's all good. Tasteful, quaint atmosphere. It's a little small on the inside, but they have take-out and delivery if you'd rather eat at home. We always eat in so someone else can do the dishes and we've always found the service polite and attentive, but not overbearing.

Stopped in here for lunch with the husband the other day. I mainly wanted to come here for the thai tea. The tea was very good. The food tasted very similar to some Chinese restaurants I've been to (that's weird) but it was still very good. My husband ordered the spicy ginger shrimp dish and there was not a speck of food left on his plate. He loved it! I had the lemongrass chicken. It was quite tasty, not really what I was expecting (a little sweet) but still good. Next time I will probably try something different. We both ordered lunch sized orders which came with fried rice and one egg roll. I am very hard to please with egg rolls (and spring rolls) and I thought they were less than tasty. I don't like when it's only cabbage in the roll with no carrots (or meat or something!). I gave it to Matt to eat. We also had an order of crab and cream cheese wontons to share. They were really good, not the best I've ever had, but still yummy. However, I almost gave them 3 stars for two reasons. One, the waitress wasn't very friendly. (And considering the capacity is only 32 people you would think you would have a more personable experience.) And two, our account was pending a double-charge for several days. We had to keep checking the account to make sure it wasn't going to double charge us. It didn't (thankfully) but the waitress should have told us she charged us twice and cancelled one of the transactions (for peace of mind). In the end the tea and food definitely made it worth four stars. We will come here again soon to try other items. It's very reasonably priced. I hope they succeed because there wasn't a thai restaurant within an hour of my house before Thai Basil opened.

This review takes into consideration that we are in Thornton.... and that this is the same Thai Basil that is famous in Denver. Yesterday we decided that we we're going to go out for dinner and that definitely we wanted Thai. So like all other residents of the Denver area that are "in the know", this means we are going to Thai Basil. I logged into Yelp because I have a new GPS unit and wanted to see how it would route me down to the Wash Park area location... and I see this entry for a Thai Basil in Thornton ( my eyes bug out at this point ). I do the double check on the Thai Basil website and yes.... it's true they have opened a new location North on 120th. We are definitely going to this one.... We arrive at 6pm ( we are early diners ) and there was one table that had been sat... all others we're open and we were greeted and seated right away. I did read a review in which a yelper complained about the seating and size of the venue, but to me... the restaurant was the perfect size ( a sign on the wall proclaims max occupancy is 32). This size ensures that the kitchen is not going to be distracted or over burdened. The chairs are large and the tables are at a nice height. I am 6'0, 270lbs, and I did not feel crowded at all.... I'm not sure why the complaint was made by the other yelper, but if you have ever been to Snooze on Colorado... you'll feel like this establishment is extremely spacious! The service was lighting fast and the Thai Iced Tea was on the table almost as fast as I could say "thai iced tea please". Our server was quick to take our order and during the time that we arrived and ordered, they had sat half of the tables. By the time we had finished our soup, the entire place was at capacity and folks were now waiting patiently at the fron for their turn to dine at the Denver legend in the Thornton hinterlands. So word is out on the northside that Thai Basil is here, so be prepared for a little wait if you don't get there early enough. the food was stellar! The qulaity of the ingredients was top notch. The portions were large and at the prices they are charging it's an unbelievable value. I would have expected to pay about 11-13 for my entree but was only charged 8.95. The quality and the taste is exactly what you would expect at the original Thai Basil location, so this location is a 5-star rating for me. We no longer have to make the trek south to enjoy this outstanding fare. We no longer have to defend ourselves to the hipsters who question our decision to live on the North Side any longer. All we have to say is... " Come meet us for Thai at Thai Basil on 120th!!". Don't forget to go toColdstone creamery right next door! What a perfect ending to some spicy Thai Basil. Sweet premium ice cream made your way!

I can't tell you how excited I was when I say this sign that they were coming! I have eaten at the other locations, they have good quick cheap Thai food. It is not super traditional or overally amazing but it is so much better than anything else in the north area. Ask for the Pad Thai spicy and they throw a little kick in it and that makes it great!

Say the words, extra spicy pad Thai....... Three times spicy when you have a cold coming on.... Finally Thornton has a wonderful Thai restaurant.. Drunken noodles are wonderful!! Thai Basil chicken is so good too.. Their curries are worth it!!!! Yummmmmmmmm

I've been here a total of 3 times. . . It's a really clean and tidy place! They did great w/ the decor considering the space they had to work with. The best dish i've had is their Thai eggplant. Their coconut soup is ok and fills the need. Other known goods are their Crab Rangoons and Sriracha Beef. I've had some garlic chicken dish previously. It wasnt that great - and.. well I took it home and it stayed in my fridge for a while, until it was tossed in the trash. The service is alright. This past visit the waitress was polite and attentive. Some waitress we had the first time we ate there was so confused ~ brought out the wrong food, charged us incorrectly and wasn't friendly at all. She even had the cook come out and yell at her.. TWICE!? I felt bad for her! I wanted to hug her and tell her.. just breathe.. it's ok - it's just a job...! My conclusion is - I'll probably skip on this place in the future. I'd rather make the trek down to Swing Thai if I'm craving Thai.

Good choice. Was there with a party of 7, Tue evening Oct 15th. Good service, real & pretty dinnerware but most important tasty dishes. Portions were very good ... you'll be filled at the end of your meal!

I have both dined in and had delivery. The dine in service is exceptional; way beyond what one would expect from casual dining. Food is excellent. Generous portions, delicious food. Highly recommended.

Tasty fresh Thai food & friendly service. It was a good that we shared both the Drunken Noodles & Penang Curry, otherwise the flavors from just a single dish could have become a bit monotonous. But by sharing, we ate every bite and were very full afterwards. Service - 4 Friendly & helpful. Not busy and the food came out ultra fast. They checked-up on us several times. Decor - 4 Simple and tasteful, with nice thick wooden table tops & authentic looking framed posters on walls. Very small space and probably cannot accommodate large groups. Food - Drunken Noodles - 4 Ordered with shrimp, very yummy! The noodles were a perfect al dente. The only challenge was that they were SO slippery. The angular bowl (tilted toward you) helped to catch noodles as they repeatedly slid off the fork. Would keep kids entertained for at least 20 minutes! But, it needed more spice. So we asked for chili oil, which really helped it pop. Panang Curry - 3 Good flavors, but again not spicy enough to compensate for the full fat coconut milk. It was pretty sweet even after adding additional hot sauce. Overall, we've had more dynamic Thai food in the past, but Thai Basil was good. And, if in the area, we would come again.

The meat is extremely poor quality. Beef and chicken both. They taste mushy almost like water has been added. The staff is very polite and helpful. But I have given this place 3 tries and they all were sub-par. I will not be returning.

Walking on in one notices that the interior is tastefully decorated. Though overall it was just an okay experience here. Ordered the Satay Beef, it was just alright as I was a bit blown back by the use of red onion (which they used too much). It also came with steamed cauliflower & broccoli. I should have asked for steam rice since their fried rice is nothing to gush about. Otherwise service was good as the waitress was attentive and polite throughout my eating experience. Might go back again in a few months just to try something else.

Absolutely love Thai Basil! This is a very small location but don't let that fool you! The staff is incredibly inviting and attentive. The food is always fresh and prepared to order. I've had all the vegetarian dishes and they are incredible. The drunken noodles with tofu and the hot and sour soup is my tried and true favorite. Do yourself a favor try this place out!

Oh my...This little hole in the wall has got it going on. Don't be taken back by their odd location in the back of a tiny strip mall. They know how to make that small space feel warm and welcoming. They have a great staff and the food is amazing. It won't set you back a lot of money and you get huge huge huge huge amounts of it. Over all if you got 10 bucks you'll be doing good here.

My family and decided to try this place one Sunday after church. We were delighted with the atmosphere and the service. Most of the stuff on the menu was spicy (typical Thai food) but they were very accommodating for the kiddos and made their without the heat. Food was awesome. We really enjoyed it.

This place was amazing! Came here on an evening and there was a decent crowd going. I felt bad for the one waitress who was the only one serving about 5 tables, although it was a bit understaffed, she was still responsive. Our pad thai's came out amazing! Probably one of the best pad thai's Ive had around the Denver area. The portion sizes are huge and this is the only time I can say that I really got what I paid for!

Delicious Thai food tucked in a strip mall off 120th in Thornton/Northglenn. I had no idea what to expect, but we were impressed! My Pad See Lew was delicious, and my husband says his Panang curry was among the best he's had! The spiciest "spicy" wasn't all that spicy (he says), only about a 5/10 based on California scales. :) We recommend it! Fast service & very friendly wait staff, too. :)

On a cold snowy Christmas eve, we were starving and not in the mood to cook. A lot of restaurants were closed, but a quick call to Thail Basil assured us that they were open until 9:30. There was only one other group in the restaurant, which is clean and inviting, although the Vietnamese posters in a supposedly Thai restaurant were a bit worrisome, especially when the waiters are all Chinese. The food is ok, not the real Thai food that I was in the mood for. My Chicken Coconut Soup was fresh chicken in canned coconut. It did come Thai spicy as requested, but the ground up chili peppers were unpleasant to eat. On the other hand, my Thai Eggplant dish was full of fresh vegetables, and very very tasty. I'd go back just for that dish. My wife's Drunken Noodles were a bit odd. I've never seen Drunken Noodles made with flat noodles before. My daughter's Pad Thai was good, and the portion was ENORMOUS. We all ate the leftovers for lunch the next day. The bill came to $31 plus tip, very reasonable these days. Service was good, the bathrooms were immaculate, and I have no real complaints. The food is fresh, if not inspired. I'd stop in for quick bite now that I know the deal.

Super cheap, super tasty. Suck down a Tsingtao with your curry or your chicken--or curried chicken. I'd been to the Thai Basil down at Park Meadows and this place is just as good. Maybe better--what this location lacks in total space, it makes up for in better lighting and décor. A smiling hostess led my party to our table and we got a lot of food for not a lot of money. Always a winning combination. I enjoy that you can choose the level of spice you want. My American tastebuds agree. I could have kicked the heat up a bit more besides ordering the 'medium' or what that it was. In any case, I completely plan on returning to any of their locations.

I was hoping I found my new nearby Thai place. I received their flyer in my mailbox. Yelp reviews were good. I called in a lunch order. When I went to get it, I couldn't find the place. Called and the guy gave me specific directions. When I was talking to him, I noticed I had a coupon for "free cheese wonton" with order over $15. I asked if it would be too late to include and that I wouldn't mind waiting. He said "no problem." When I got there, a female was at the front desk looking exasperated. No smile. No "welcome to Thai Basil." I told her I was here to pick up my order. Her response was: "next time you have a coupon, let us know ahead." I have never been chided the minute I walk into a new establishment. I didn't respond. I usually give the person who hands me my food a nice tip for their effort. It didn't even cross my mind this time. They did give me huge portions (turned into 3 meals). I'm a pad thai lover and found theirs to be fairly bland. I loved their chicken coconut soup. The "free cheese wonton" was a whole order of 5 wantons! Sorry, but the lady who got mad at me the minute I came in the door ruined it for me. Won't be back. I'll take my business elsewhere.

Quite honestly I have no idea why people like this place. Yes, it's the best Thai place in Thornton, because it's the ONLY Thai place in Thornton. We live down wind from Thai Basil and the smell is amazing. The taste of the food doesn't even come close to the exterior smell. We went once and will never return. We got Pad Thai, which tasted like lime more than anything else. Other than that it had no flavor what so ever. The rest of the food I don't remember because it also had no flavor. This is a general problem up here in Thornton, the food has no flavor, no spice. I'm actually glad I'll be moving to Denver in a couple months, the food in Denver is so much better. I'm just flat out disappointed in this place I can't stand it.

We decided on take out for Valentines day. We ordered about 7 items and all of them were wonderful dishes. My kids gobbled up the Pad Thai as fast as they could :) The Duck was fabulous I must say. Perfect crisp. The flavor was amazing. Tasted like a cross between anise and clove oil in the marinade. Whatever it was it was simply delish!! The Thai Basil Tofu was also awesome the nice firm white tofu had wonderful texture. It could be the excitement and romance from Valentines day but I would definitely order from here over and over and over again ;)

I went there for lunch with a couple of friends about two weeks after they opened. It was nice to see our favorite waitress from Newport Chinese Cuisine there, Diane. Unfortunately, she was really the only good thing the place had going. The tables are all pretty close together, so we had to sit very close to the table. It felt like we were eating with strangers and our conversations all mixed. We ordered Thai Iced Tea and Diane told us they didn't have that yet as they had just opened. It had been a couple of weeks, so that seemed a bit unacceptable to me. We ordered the Golden Tofu appetizer and each of us had a noodle dish. The Golden Tofu appetizer was really too big, though it was decent. Our Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles and Pad Se Lew all came at different times, but they were hot when they arrived. We all agreed that the Pad Thai was almost too sweet to eat. The Drunken Noodles were a bit too salty. The Pad Se Lew was the hit of the table, but even that wasn't particularly stellar. It really felt like the place opened too soon. It seemed all very unorganized. With so many other restaurants to try I doubt I'll be back.

I moved here a while back and I've been missing my fav Thai place back home. I finally stopped in here and I have to say, I'm glad I did. Yellow curry chicken was outstanding. I was a little concerned about the price until I saw the serving size. Two meals in one. Awesome!

It's ok. I think they survive off the name and reputation of the one downtown. They have forgotton some of our order a few times when delivered. There are deffinitely better places to go.

Solid, good Thai food. I've had the pad Thai, spring rolls, crab cheese wontons and drunken noodles and it's all been good! Not the best thai food I've had, but its tasty. I've only done take out, but they're very quick, reasonably priced, and a good neighborhood option.

Great food and very friendly service. The Thai iced tea is amazing! Their Pad Thai is quite good. Cozy (tiny) location with a nice modern decor. I will definitely be returning to further explore their menu.

Quick and friendly service. Had spring roll, it had the best dipping sauce I've ever had - nice and light with coconut milk in the foreground. Also had the Thai basil chicken. It was very good. I was tickled they offered brown rice, just ask. Will be back next time I'm in town.

Man, I had a not so good experience here. Let me just say, this place is far from traditional Thai food. This is like the Thai version of Panda Express. Actually, it's too much like Chinese food. Ordered soup which was definitely not flavored well. Coconut chicken soup has too much coconut. That's not the worse part, I ordered Thai Chicken Basil and I found hair in it as soon as it came out. Waitress took it back, said she'd have the chef make a new plate. The "new plate" came out 2 minutes later...REALLY? At least make it seem as though you cooked a new plate rather than re-heat it. I'm deeply sorry but this is not the best Thai in Denver.

Pretty good Thai food. The only reason I wouldn't give it 5 stars is because you have to wait a long time for service/food.

Screamingly fresh! Delightfully quick service! Refreshing iced tea! And my Vietnamese cabbage salad with chile lime dressing was so perfect on this warm Colorado day- not overwhelmingly filling and very satisfying. And my side of rice was shaped like a heart. I will be coming back here often to try the dozen other menu choices I rejected today. For $10 a person, this is a lunch that can't be beat.

This is my go to Thai place in Thornton. I love the green curry. It has a great mix of spice and coconut. My fiancee always orders the Vietnamese egg rolls, which are pretty tasty. I've tried other places around but always go back to Thai Basil.

I LOVE this place. It is my go-to restaurant when we are looking for a place to eat near home. The service is always fast, and friendly. We always get great food and enough to take home for lunch the next day. We always splurge on the crab wantons for an appetizer which are just fantastic.

This place is worth visiting if in Denver. My meal was lovely, I had a cup of war wonton soup and fried noodle with shrimp dish that was good. My meal came quickly and efficiently the service staff were good (although the manager guy appeared too big to bring me the check, it was there a several minutes later when his support staff provided it), so that was 1 negative. Also this place seems to have quite a happy hour scene going on when I went---having past buy here at different periods in the day it seems there are moments when you truly can be the 1 of a few diners at the place so lunch time crowd appears to be dull. But overall high ratings as it truly did have it going on.

We love this place! So far we have tried the Thai Basil Chicken, Potstickers, Crispy Duck, Lo Mein, Sesame Chicken, Curry Chicken and Combo Fried Rice. Huge portions when you eat in, a little less when delivered, but still good! A great neighborhood Thai restaurant.

I had the pad thai, one of my favorite dishes. It was so sweet it was inedible. I went next door for ice cream and realized the pad thai was sweeter than the ice cream! Yuck!

No no no. Bland. Also, when you deliver to a persons home, it would be good to include the rice. Also bad to say, oh sorry, next time we will give you an eggroll. What makes you think there will be a next time? Pretty pompous attitude if you ask me. Not providing rice is like not providing the tortilla to a burrito. Just wrong.

I love Thai food, and when testing a new restaurant, I always start with the basics. In this case, we had good news and we had bad news. Bad news: The pad thai is a trainwreck. They could stick a maraschino cherry and whipped cream on top and serve it for dessert. Not only was it way too sweet, but there was another flavor in there oddly reminiscent of paste (which I loved as a kid). Good news: Ok, the above wasn't a critical DEFCON 1 type issue because I was already stuffed from the outstanding chicken sate. Not only was this the best I'd ever tasted - and I do know my chicken sate - but the portion was huge! And the chicken wasn't the thin skewer strips that go flying across the room when you try to remove them. It was almost tenderloins. I'd return there just to laugh at the people choking down the pad thai while I happily munch on that amazing chicken. It's worth it.

Long wait, restaurant was @ capacity, but it was so worth the wait! Food arrived @ our table sizzling, and was fantastic!!! This is a little slice of Thai heaven in Thornton!!! After reading the previous reviews I had mixed feelings about going to this restaurant but since we were starving and it was close, we took the risk. I'm glad we did. We had Thai iced tea and the coconut chicken soup to start. The soup was flavorful and an order for two was quite enough. Thinking we'd get entrees only, we ordered three dishes: spicy eggplant, chicken with peanut sauce and a shrimp dish with jalapeno's and vegetables. All three dishes were quite tasty with the eggplant being our favorite (much to the surprise of both of us). The place was packed and the staff (too few of them) were doing their best to accommodate everyone in a timely manner. A Mom & Pop operation like this one clearly operates with the hopes for a full house nightly but the reality is usually different. The service was OK, the server very polite. We had to wait a little bit for food but clearly they were understaffed on this busy Friday evening. Overall, I would return. The food was good, the price was right and it's a local business close to this reviewer's home. A winning combination in my book. I would recommend if you are in a hurry to eat, this is not the best place to go. But if you have some time, it's worth it. Being a new business they seem to have worked out many of the kinks, however a few still remain.

Flavorful food, good service. But a little misleading--the "spiced roast duck" was mostly vegetables with a few tiny shreds of duck. Still tasted good, though, because of the yummy coconut curry sauce.

Thank heavens this place is only 5 minutes from my house. That's both a good and bad thing, because I can get Thai food at anytime. My taste buds are happy, but my belly might sprout a growth spurt. Pad Thai is definitely on point here. I always judge Thai places by their Pad Thai, because if they can't cook that staple right, then why would I trust them with anything more complicated? But Thai Basil apparently knows exactly what is up when it comes to their food. Portion size is so on point that you could make a sword out of it. I had enough to stuff myself for two meals. Now I may be a small enough dude, but I barely made a dent in the dish when I ate it at first. It was a little more expensive than expected, but if they're gonna make up for it with that kind of portion size, then I don't mind tossing a couple more coins in their jar. Service was nice enough and the food came out so quick that I didn't even have time to scroll through the front page of Reddit. Parking is easy as well! Since these guys are so close to home, they've got themselves a new regular! I'd suggest you put them in your little black book as well.

The girl who worked my table was very friendly, provided prompt refills, and boxed up my leftovers in front of me at the table. I appreciate when a server takes the time to do something like this. Unfortunately, that's where the praise ends, as the food seemed very Chinese and should not be described as Thai by any definition of the word. I ordered the Thai Spicy Soup and the Thai Basil Chicken. The dish I ordered was described as "spicy" but was only mildly so and tasted somewhat sweet, as if someone added sugar to the sauce. The soup was very greasy and didn't seem to be naturally spicy. Instead, they added a bunch of a powdered spice which floated its way to the top. To its credit, there were two very large pieces of shrimp in the soup which I wasn't expecting. However, a fortune cookie is decidedly not Thai and shouldn't be part of the experience. Inauthentic, I believe is being kind when describing what I received.

I ordered Thai spicy shrimp. Came out in less than 5 minutes. Rice was hot, entree was Luke warm. Mushrooms not cooked. No way this was a freshly made entree. Do not go there or be cautious.

Super yummy! This was my first time ordering from Thai Basil. I did delivery. It took about 40 minutes which is what was expected. I ordered chicken coconut soup, chicken Lo mein, and chicken Panang curry. Oh, and Thai iced tea. Everything was delicious!! I am pretty sensitive to spice so I just asked for mild. Even then, the curry had me sweating! (Again though, I'm a spice wuss!). The Lo mein was not spicy and the soup was mild even for me. Overall I am very happy and would definitely order from here again.
