Oct 2014: 4-stars... I'm From the Boston area and used to NY style pizza so this is the closest to pizza from home. I love the crust most of all! UPDATE: whoa, what happened to borriello bros! I used to order from different locations, always consistently good, but the past 2 orders were so very bad. Most recently I ordered from Monument in late June and as a result nearly swore off the concept of eating pizza. Two pizzas: No sauce, undercooked, a sloppy inedible mess... And it was not busy or a lull. What gives? I may give BB another shot in a few months but until then there are other places to go. Such a disappointment for a regular haunt! I hope management does some internal and external surveys to pin point and fix what is going wrong... Clearly from other reviews, my experience is the new norm.

Outstanding pizza, with a tasty, crisp and a slightly chewy crust. Marked down a little for bad estimating on pizza prep and delivery times. Allow extra time when ordering, and enjoy!

Hands down, the best NY style pizza I've ever had! I'll be back every chance I get.

Can't give 5 stars - because it's not actually ny pizza, but it is really good for outside the tri-state area. I think it's the water (I.e clean) that makes the pizza/bagels different. Not bad, just different. These guys are as close as I've tasted in a good long while. Place is happy for Yankee fans too... :)

Not bad for pizza, I am sure that they have a lot more on the menu. Hubbs and me ordered a pizza with pop, we were traveling back to San Diego and had our pets waiting for us.... A cockatiel, a 15 lbs black cat, and a curious and spirited Pomeranian. It was easy on and out.

This is my favorite pizza chain, and I was happy that one was close to our new home when moving back to the area. I've used the location twice--once for delivery and once with their lunch specials. Both were good experiences, consistent with what I've come to expect from Borriello Brothers. I was surprised by the reviews, but they were consistent, especially with the rude manager, who I have not encountered, and the poorly put together/cooked food. Either they got their act together or we've had good anomalies. I'll definitely be back -- often, so will be a bit more cautious and observant after reading the reviews. Hopefully they've taken the feedback to heart and addressed the problems!

What happened to Borriello Brothers? As the chain has expanded, so has their distance from the good, quality pizza they used to be known for. I've been to just about every BB location around Colorado Springs, including this Monument location on multiple occasions, and I've watched the quality, service and even the pizza itself go completely down the drain over the last 6 years. They used to have the best NY pizza in town - maybe the State - and what I was served at both this location, and the Research location bares no resemblance to the pizza they used to make. I don't know if this is just a case of bad management, franchising without regard to quality control, leaving the stores in the hands of kids, or just that the owner is expanding his 'chain' of stores without actually checking on the 'managers' running these places. My latest experience will be my last - and is a great disappointment from a restaurant I used to love. My husband and I visited the Monument location on a Thursday night. Placed an order for one large pizza at 7:03. We were told it would be 20 minutes. We went and sat down at a booth and waited - staring blankly at the T.V.'s that weren't turned on. 20 minutes pass by - then 25. My husband inquires about the pizza and is told by the kids behind the counter, who looked completely confused by his request, that they were 'sorry' and that the pizza would be out in 5-7 minutes. We continued to wait - 30 minutes, then 35 minutes - My husband asked again - and again they looked befuddled and fumbled around looking at each other and told him again - oh it will just be a few more minutes (because pizza is indeed complicated and time-consuming to make). After a 44 minute wait, the pizza arrives - and it was the worst looking, completely thrown-together mess of a pizza we've ever seen. It had so little sauce that you could barely see it - and the sauce and cheese on one side of the pie fell short a good 3-4 inches from the edge of the crust. The half with olives had so many olives carelessly thrown on it that it tasted like pure vinegar, and the entire pie had an off taste of what was clearly the juice of banana peppers or pepperoncinis which must have been on the last pie they cut. The crust was terribly uneven and so paper thin in places that it just had not flavor. The second it was laid on the table, we asked to see a manager. A guy of about 22 shuffles up to the table with attitude and asks what the problem is. We asked him if the quality of that pizza is up to their standards, to which he said nothing and just goes - what's wrong? Do you want me to have them remake it? To which we pointed out that not only did we wait 44 minutes for it, after he was the one who took the order and told us it would be 20 minutes - but that everything about the pizza was terrible, and nothing like the pizza we've always had from Boriello Brothers. The last thing we wanted to do was wait another 30-40 minutes for a pizza. We also pointed out how it had hardly any cheese or sauce, and that the crust was improperly stretched - to which he points out that 'that's their crust and it's not like pizza hut'. Sadly - this is what you get when you leave a restaurant in the hands of kids - because that's the case here. The kitchen is being run by kids with no sense of quality control, accuracy, inventory control as evident by the toppings, or a sense of pride. The 'manager' has absolutely no clue when it comes to customer service and how to handle complaints - and a pizza that sad should never have left the kitchen. Adding insult to injury - and further showing that this place is mismanaged and bleeding profits - is the fact that said 'manager' then walked around to all the other tables around us, apologizing for their wait and telling them their food was on him and offering to bring them free garlic knots while they waited. It was a good little show of playing manager after we complained and those around us noticed - otherwise, he'd have still been in the back ignoring customers. Such a total disappointment that our once favorite pizza in the state has been reduced to a poor quality, inconsistent, over-priced playground for the display of how to ruin a business with lack of management.

It has been 2 years since I've had Borriello Brothers seeing that I wasn't initially a fan. Well last night they lost another star. We ordered pizza via a great Groupon deal, it came with garlic knots and salad. The salad had some black wilted lettuce and the garlic knots were burned. But of course we didn't know these things until we showed up at our friends' home with the food. The "Club Med" pizza was delicious but many of the pizza slices were minimally covered by the toppings and sauce. When I arrived to pickup our order I checked in on Yelp and found a check in offer for a free order of garlic knots. I showed this to the cashier and she said "I don't know what that is." But instead of asking someone how to ring it in she just said couldn't do it. So much for the check in offer, kinda defeats the point of having one.

Not what I was expecting, but the pizza really didn't taste good. I got a pepperoni and salami pizza. While we were there someone was putting together chairs so it was loud, at 6pm! Not a good experience.

SLOWWWWW SERVICE, RUDE MANAGER! Do NOT go here for fast food. I ordered a slice of pizza, took *whatever* was already cooked hoping it would be ready quickly.ore than 10 minutes passed until I had to go ask them where my slice of pizza was. I didn't complain but nicely asked how much longer until the kids realized they left mine in the oven. The Manager came over and reminded me that 10 mins was not too long to wait. Huh? I didn't ask for his opinion. Very rude. The owner needs to check on his customer service once in a while. This is not the first time a "slice" has taken forever. Just get takeout next time when you're not in a hurry.

Very good pizza. The restaurant itself is nothing spectacular and the staff are ok. The food is a bit overpriced but still one of the better spots in Monument, CO.

I simply didn't think the pizza was very good. The crust was good but the sauce tasted generic (canned) and they were really skimpy on the toppings. They also messed up our order and rather than giving us the extra cheese we ordered they somehow interpreted that to mean another pizza and charged us for it as well. I mean, how can a pizza place not understand an order for extra cheese? The pizzas aren't really worth the almost $20 they charge for one.

They literally never get the delivery order correct. Ever. I've addressed it several times, nothing changed. Every. Single. Time.

Kind of crappy. Ordered the 5 Boroughs on their square-cut, thick crust. The crust wasn't cooked all the way through and was raw in the center. The sauce was dull and the meat wasn't as good as even some chain restaurants are. Wish I had gone somewhere else. All-in-all though, it still beats Domino's.

I'm a recent transplant from NJ and the best I can say is the pizza is OK at best relative to NY but good for CO. Service is really slow both for delivery and pickup. In fact the last pickup I was told it would be ready in 30 minutes when I called in. When I got there on time they told me another 10 minutes (ie the pie is in the oven). Not true, I waited another 35 minutes for a total of 65 minutes. I was so angry I flat out told them I have never waited so long for a pie and if they were in NJ they would be out of business in short order. Another pickup I waited 10 minutes after I arrived and was given the wrong pizza. Waited another 15 before they baked another pie. This place really needs a better workflow and more ovens to handle the volume. In contrast, La Gondola in Ramsey NJ is great pizza and no matter how crowded, your pie is ready in 15 minutes. Part of the problem is this is a chain whereas back East, most pizza places are run hands on by the owner.

We decided to stop in for some Pizza this past weekend and had an overall great experience. We ordered the Clemente "Meat Pie" and some garlic knots. The pizza had a good flavor. The hand tossed crust was not as crispy on the bottom as I usually prefer. The garlic knots seemed to be a bit unevenly cooked but tasted good. The employees were extremely friendly and helpful. The dining room and restrooms were very clean. I think I will try the ultra-thin crust next time.

Except for a fancy Pizzeria in Phoenix, AZ that was run by a nice Italian man that used an imported oven, and imported ingredients, This is the BEST pizza I've ever had! Eat here if you want pizza!

Nice place with good pizza, and they happily put up with our dysfunctional group and our many order changes and request to put the Bronco's game on.

Sorry to all you guys that think this is good New York style pizza. The crust may be thin, but so are soda crackers. The sauce is tomato purée straight out of the can...no character at all. The after taste is, let me think...yes, like sucking on dirty socks? Based on their pizza, 2 stars is generous.

I love this pizza! Friendly staff and good food. Try the garlic knots! The only bummer for me is that they have Pepsi instead of Coke.

Not crazy about the calzones, kinda dry for me but the pizza rocks!

A first at a dine in pizza joint: Cold pizza. How do you get cold pizza when you are sitting in the pizzeria? We ended up eating a slice each and taking the rest home. Second, the place is very drafty. They do not have an airlock so whenever someone comes in to order a pizza or pick up a pizza you get a nice blast of winter air. As for the pizza it is good. Pretty bad though when you have to go home and warm up your pizza so you can taste it hot.

The pizza here is usually good but overpriced. The service however is usually marginal even for an "order at the counter, get served at the table" style of restaurant. Today the service was so bad I was finally prompted to write about it. We ordered lunch and it took 30 minutes to receive our complete order which trickled out over a 15 minute period with no communication from the staff as to when we might expect the rest of the order. I had to ask the wait staff no less than four times to bring one of the beverages. It got so bad I finally had to ask for the manager. To her credit she comped the meal after hearing how atrocious our experience was. At this point, too many marginal in-store experiences and too much money for the quality of the food for me to ever go back. I might still consider their pizza delivery but at the price I doubt it.

Delicious pizza, amazing desserts! The cannoli isn't really a true cannoli, but it's still delicious - try the chocolate covered one if you're feeling fancy.

Chris the manager answered the phone when I placed a to go order & was incredibly rude when I aske what the specials were and placed my order. When I went to pick it up he was rude then too and didn't even acknowledge when I came in and had to wait to be rung up. However, Ferris rang it up and brought my pizzas over and he was so nice! Pizza was super tasty but I'm not sure that made up for being rude.

I'm an ex-New Yorker. Go back to NYC frequently. This is OK for NY pizza. I think its the sauce, maybe too sweet; just doesn't taste like the pizza in NYC. With that said, its the best you can find here in Colorado springs-Monument area. For excellent pizza I recommend Bella Paninni. It's not NY but it is very very good.

Somebody else introduced me to this place as "The Best Pizza outside of New York" and I have to say I agree. It is just really really good pizza. They also have great slice deals. This is on my "can't miss" list!!

I've only been to NYC twice in my life- each time for about a week. I remember the food everywhere I ate was just fantastic. This is probably the best NY style pizza you will find in Colorado Springs. Does that mean it's great- No but it's pretty good and if you're really jonesing for pizza that is not- run of the mill dominos, pizza hut, papa john's- I recommend this place. The chicken paramaigiana pie is pretty good and their lunch specials are decently priced as well. Overall if you're in the mood for pizza and want a taste of NY style-check this place out, they might surprise you.

Really great pizza. I recommend Fried Eggplant. They have gluten-free personal pizzas. Took over old Rotelli's site. They are much better.

I don't know anything about true NY style pizza but this is really really great pizza.

I grew up in NY. This is the best NY style pizza I've found outside the NY metro area. The downtown Colorado Springs location is slightly better, but this one makes living in Monument so much better!

pretty good pizza, but it's filler pizza, nothing special. delivery takes a long time on busy nights, so order early on fri and sat nights.

the pizza is OK bit pricey for my family but delivery is fast and the service is usually good when we eat there. The garlic knots are the BOMB!

When you order a buffalo chicken pie, you expect to see chicken. We couldn't taste the chicken or any buffalo sauce. The bacon, onion and tomato tasted okay. We did ask if we had the right pizza and where the chicken was? The waitress said "its there,". Where? The hand tossed crust was good. Shame the buffalo chicken pizza doesn't have chicken or buffalo sauce, oh wait, it's there.... You just can't see it, or taste it.

We had lunch here today and it was not that great of food or service. The pizza came out so greasy that you could actually wring it out on your plate. They forgot to bring out our fried dough and didn't give us our cookies that we had paid for. We had to go back to the counter to pick them up. The service was okay and the pizza is very greasy, so be prepared as it made my girlfriend's stomach roil a bit, but didn't bother me. If you have other choices then I would go somewhere else in Castle Rock, CO.

We got this pizza to go last week. I am not a fan of thick crust but that's what my husband got not knowing there was thinner crust and it was great. We will definitely order there again.

So this is a review based purely on food and not the location, the location is only because it's close to my house and they DELIVER! I've had their pizza and garlic knots in the past and today I decided to have another go at it. So I sat down at my trusty MAC and logged into their website at borriellobrothers.com . because it had been a while I needed to reset my password which was a very painless precess. With it reset I got to ordering. The site has a lot of food listed and laid out across the top in a tabbed format. You select the baseline for what you want and the tab opens to show you the various choices you have. The only downside to the variety of choices is that some of the descriptions are very vague (Garlic Knots - how many are in an order?). That is just one instance, but the other thing I'd like to see is the ability to see a larger blown-up image of the food choice when you click on the picture. These are all website things and obviously have nothing to do with the quality of the food and the taste. Now for the food choice tonight! I ordered an 18in March Mayhem Deal with a side of Garlic Knots and for dessert a Brooklyn Blackout Cake. The pizza was ordered with Lite sauce, green olives on half, mushrooms and grilled chicken. The food arrived perfect although a little on the chill side, but that's due to the distance the driver had to travel. I'll be ordering from here again, but this time I'll get two orders of Garlic knots (12 total) and maybe a smaller pizza as the 18" was a lot for the two of us.
