Hands down the WORST food ever. I won't even refer to it as Mexican food because that's an insult to the cooks/chefs who actually know what they're doing. The food is very overpriced for the quality. I ordered chicken strips for my daughter and a beef tacorito (sp?) for myself. The chicken strips were completely dry and bland. And I was only able to force down one bite of my tacorito for fear of becoming ill with food poisoning. I also ordered a Sprite and could easily tell their soda machine hadn't been cleaned in A LONG TIME. Yuck!! The "free" chips and salsa were a disgrace, as well. The chips tasted old and the salsa was basically tomato sauce in a bowl. Anyone who says their food deserves more than 1 star has either never tasted true Mexican food or simply has no sense of taste, whatsoever. I will never eat here again.

I went back to Mexican inn for a birthday party and I can say the food was better but not a whole lot. I got a chicken taqarido which was a flour tortilla stuffed with peppered chicken with green chile and cheese over the top. It was very plain but edible and was just barely warm but not cold. The green chile has ok flavor and decent spice but is very slimy. My girlfriend ordered a chile riajno which she said was just okay compared to others she has had around town. I was in a group on the patio sitting at my own table with my girlfriend and the server was nice but I think he forgot about us because I had to find him and ask him to come take our order because he didn't come to my table. Although I had a better experience this time I would still say to go somewhere else if you want quality Mexican food.

No bueno. Flies buzzing around the dining area. Food is edible, but I'll pass on any future visits.

I have never walked out of a restaurant before finishing my meal but I did at this place. Wow...just wow. My wife and I ordered dinner plates with chicken and beef. The meat was so dry that I had to drink water with every bite to get it down. The rice was undercooked, still hard and straight out of a box. The beans...o the beans...honestly HOW do you screw up refried beans, they were horrible. The wait staff was pretty clearly hooked meth. A couple of 90 pound women with less than 5 teeth between them. This place should be shut down.

Have been going here since I was a little kid and I still love it. I love the dive atmosphere but I'm sure most people don't. I only order the chile relenos, they are the best I've ever had hands down, I also love the chips n salsa but any other food I've had there has been lack luster.

I've driven past this Mexican joint for years until one of my coworkers wanted to go yesterday. It looks a little ramshackle on the outside and appears to be a favorite with the senior citizen bunch at lunch on the inside (and they love their 80s music!) They have *amazing* spicy salsa although I'd prefer a lighter chip to go with it. Just had a cheese enchilada and my friend had a taco and one of their house specialties, an encharito (?) - she liked it. Overall I'd say the food is okay. This place is funny. And cheap. Apparently usually fast, although we got hosed on our service this visit. 3.5 stars. Oh, and they don't accept credit cards, so think ahead!

I have always seen lots of cars parked in front of Mexican Inn and thought I would go ahead and give it a try. I ordered off of a la carte and got a taco and a guacamole tostada. It was decent but not really all that authentic. In a pinch I would go back but I will stick with my usual staples when it comes to Mexican food. The food is somewhat bland but does seem fresh. Everyone working here was very friendly and the service was good and prompt. The prices are also very reasonable!

I opened an account to say worst ever...fajitas coated in sugar...pre-packaged frozen everything...even the Pico. ..clueless staff that didnt satisfy any request...worst dinner ever. Wish I could have zero starred it. Didn't even leave parking lot to hopefully save the next person from coming here.

We had dinner at the Mexican Inn Saturday night - you all should know that it is now Senor Rafael's at the Mexican Inn. They also now accept Visa and MasterCard, and the place has a new coat of paint and is brighter and much cleaner on the inside (although outside is still sketchy). I thought the food was good and they are very generous with their meat, in whatever you order. The chips and salsa were also good, however, they are very stingy with them! We went through three tiny little bowls of salsa (tiny!) and were actually CHARGED for the third one! Otherwise, the prices are good. The wait staff was good and friendly.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
