We tried Pueblito's because of all of the great reviews on Yelp, and we were not disappointed. The staff was friendly, the service was good, and the food was delicious. I had the cheese enchiladas and chile relleno combination plate, and my boyfriend had the cheese enchiladas and something I can't remember the name of at the moment... which is a bummer, because it was the one thing that was disappointing. Whatever it was, my boyfriend expected it to be fried in a shell, but instead it was really just a tostada. In any case, the red sauce was tasty, and the Mexican cheese in the enchiladas and the chile relleno was super tasty. The relleno was spicy - I liked it, but be warned that they do not remove the seeds from the chile :) We tried the white cheese dip because of all of the rave reviews on Yelp, and it did not disappoint. It was a little runnier than I expected, but the flavor was really good. Overall we had a good experience, and will definitely be back!

Last time I was in there ordering take out I saw a waitress recycling a used salsa into another bowl. I was so disgusted I walked out and never went back.

Great Local mexican food joint. We get corn tacos al pastor and they are alot like the ones we had in mexico a few weeks ago. We go here a few times a month and have never had a bad meal but we order the same thing every time.

I've had a lot of Mexican food in my life, but I've finally found a place that's consistently great across the board. The waiter was extremely helpful and personable, and the food was easily the best Mexican food I've ever had. Anyone who comes for an extended visit in our new home will be coming here for a meal, maybe two. I had shredded beef enchiladas with spicy green chile sauce. Smothered in white cheese, too. Wow! My wife and son were very pleased with their dishes, too.The price is also right. The three of us were well fed with drinks for under $30.00. We'll be back frequently.

I stopped hear randomly with a buddy on our way back to Denver from the mountains. They have the best homemade salsa and chips I've ever had. I can't remember what entree I had, but it was excellent. I made a point of stopping here a second time with my wife when we were passing through, and it did not disappoint.

This is a real Mexican restaurant. Love the food and atmosphere. Staff is very nice and will do anything to serve a good meal. Will go again and again. A local favorite.

This is a great authentic mexican restaurant ...especially for Loveland. I would have rated it a 4 star however, the service is not that great...they kind of leave you hangin' but other than that...it's really really tasty! I normally order the Pollo Loco, it's chicken in a yummy sauce with beans and a guacamole salad on the side. The carne asada is Delicious too! If you are looking for a local authentic mexican restaurant ...look no more.

The best part of our meal was the fresh tortilla chips brought out when we sat down. The accompanying dipping sauce was thin and similar to spicy tomato sauce. We had the deluxe steak fajitas with an extra of grilled shrimp. The steak was chewy and the shrimp were rubbery. The tortillas were not sufficient and were served wrapped in aluminum foil rather than in a tortilla bowl. We asked for two more and were charged for them. There were no serving utensils for our main dish.

Finally tried El Pueblito. Wish I had waited like forever . This is NOT mexican food . The server had no clue what green chile was.? We split nachos and a chimichanga. Both came smothered in some buttery tasting white cheese sauce . No spice basically no taste just butter(yuk). Meat in chimi was ok but flavorless just pot roast I can do that in my crockpot too and a whole lot cheaper than $11 for a 4oz porrtion.Green sauce was straight tomatilla n onion. Tasted sour like tomas do.The only thing with flavor in the whole joint was the bottled habanero sauce sitting on the table'.The salsa served is Rotel blended to eliminate chunks, now that is just Awful ! Looking for mexican food run away from this place! Want some bastardized form of wannabe Cali metro yup grub welcome to el pueblito .

This food is awful. Been here twice now. Came back the second time because I thought I really liked the salsa, boy was I wrong. Literally everything was gross! Won't ever be back!

Awful... very evident this place doesn't care much about food, service or drinks. One of the worst experiences I've had in a long time with a restaurant.

My husband and I love this restaurant! My husband is Mexican and knows his food...he is so happy to eat here. Service is good, drinks are great, the food is amazing!! My favorite item is the torta! Mmmmmmm!!!! My favorite place to eat! A+++

It's pretty busy on Friday nights so be prepared for a wait and keep track of where you are in line as they don't maintain a wait list. Highly recommend the Burrito Ranchero. Authentic food.

  • Kat S.

Wow--they're food is awful! How can they call this authentic Mexican food. They're salsa is Pace, wait....its worse than Pace- it's just tomato sauce with no flavor or spice. When we asked for some salsa with some actual flavor and heat they added red peppers to the tomato sauce. Unbelievable! Save your money and eat anywhere but here.

First time here and will for sure be back. Got burrito taco lunch special for $6. Had it smothered in spicy green chili and it was fantastic. Skip the salsa they bring you and ask for the bottle of habanero. Amazing! Only wish I could speak more Spanish as I tried without luck to see where I could score a bottle of it.

Pretty good food. I can't speak to authenticity, but it's what I expect in Mexican food. The chips and salsa are tasty. The enchiladas were good, but I like them better in red sauce and they serve verde. The service keeps it from being 4 stars. Not very attentive and sometime not as clean as I would like. Hoping to find a better Mexican go to here.

OMG, I had been craving Mexican food that was actually spicy and delicious since moving to PA. This place did not disappoint. I had chicken Enchiladas with there spicy green chile sauce, and it was so so good. It was hot, but not so hot I couldn't eat it. Mostly it just had a lot of flavor. I ate every last bite on my plate. The only reason no five stars is that the margaritas were very sweet, and our pitcher tasted mostly of sweet and sour mix, and very little of tequila. Overall delicious and I would go back in a heartbeat.

  • Leita E.

My husband and I stopped in there to have a margarita and an appetizer. The drinks were good but the nachos were horrible! I feel like we were ripped off too. The pitcher of margaritas we thought cost $10 ended up costing $15. And the nasty nachos that we couldn't even eat cost $9 when we thought they were $5 ( they weren't worth a penny!) We, of course, will not go back. My advice? Choose ANY other place but there to eat. Btw, it smelled less than appetizing when we walked in. I knew I should have ran for the door!

Had dinner here last night. Chips and salsa were good, liked the fact they give you a large bowl of salsa. Ordered a combo with a burrito, chalupa and taco. The chalupa better known as a tostada came out on the same plate as the burrito where the sauce from the burrito turned it into a soggy mess. The taco was average, did not care for the white cheese they used and it had no tomatoes on it. The burrito was decent and the tostada would have been better if it had not gotten so soggy I could not pick it up. Overall not bad but they need to make some minor improvements in my opinion.

Great food go here about 1-2x a month. Got food poisoning from the guacamole, so did my friend. Everything else is pretty good, especially the cheese dip. I don't like the pastor, it's more authentic rather than sweet. Great service and staff. Offer a discount program too which is sweet.

It's edible..... But not very authentic Mexican food. I ordered the carnitas and started wondering if I got the wrong order or something. I received three slices of pork ( it was perfectly tender) but again it was just slices of pork. I was expecting CARNITAS in green chile with beans and tortillas and delicious slow cooked cubes of pork! But I got sliced pork Maybe the Mexicans in Denver that make the delicious food are from a different region than the Mexicans in Loveland !?

Someone recommended this restaurant to us while in Loveland one day and we really enjoyed it! Great flavors, good service, great prices. Carne Asada, green chile, rellenos, tamales, margaritas ... everything was good! THIS is what we need down in Boulder!

Stale chips, cold beef, bad lettuce (the edges were actually black), and found plastic packaging in my meal...but good red sauce.

Most of the reviews were pretty good so I wanted to try this 'authentic Mexican food'. The place was crowded when we got there so I anticipated a great hole in the wall place. The chips were good, the salsa was ok but not the best. I ordered a burrito and chile rellano combo. The burrito was nothing special and the rellano was horrible. I don't like to give bad reviews but the food here is not worth going back for. One positive...our service was pretty good.

Well, I thought the salsa and chips were awesome. Salsa had a nice bite to it and the chips were good, even better- they start you off with a big helping of each. No need to worry about waiting for refills there. It was so good I was looking forward to the meal. Turns out I should have filled up on the chips and salsa. I had the #1 combo. Taco and two enchiladas. There was NO sauce whatsoever on the taco. Just meat(dry) cheese and lettuce, very disappointing. The enchiladas were not much better, somewhat bland. The red sauce was no more spicy than ketchup. I won't be returning.

Loaded too Their guac The Bad: Burritos Quesadillas Chime changas The service has always been fine. Nothing to write home about but never bad either. Get one of the Goods and you will be happy!

I had heard though some locals that this was authentic Mexican. Well It is good it is cheap. Is it the best Mexican in Northern Colorado ?? Not ready to commit to that yet. What was good. Chips were fresh, Salsa was Fresh, The cheese was authentic.

I can't comment on the food, atmosphere, or prices. I went there on 4/27 and 10 minutes after their opening time their doors were still locked. So I am giving them 1 star for not being open when they should be

My go to spot for Mexican in Loveland. Flavor is always good (I particularly enjoy their salsa) but the service is absolutely hit or miss. It tends towards miss, but at least the food comes out quickly as soon as you can order. If you're not in a hurry this is a great little place for a tasty meal. Alternatively, if you go when it's not busy the service is fine.

Is it authentic? Maybe. Is it good? YES!!! I love their Chimichangas. The white cheese sauce is killer. The manager is hot too. Lovely lady. Very friendly. Check it!

I love this place! I have been a regular since they opened. Their portions are huge and the food has a different flavor than a lot of Mexican food restaurants. I'm not really sure how to describe it -- just fresher and spicier, although not necessarily hotter. Regarding other reviewers stating the service is hit or miss, I somewhat agree. They have had the same wait staff for years, and they do appear to be kind of leisurely in their level of service. It's definitely worth the wait though. My favorites are the cheese enchiladas and beef tacos. Their rice and beans are not run-of-the-mill either, but are both really tasty. Portions run large and plates can easily be shared (although I usually don't because it's too good to share!)

Go to Mexican in Loveland! Super good food and you cant beat the price with a sack of beans. Try the burrito fajita. They cover it in yummy melted queso, it is so good! Plus the portion sizes are outrageous, like my BF cant finish his outrageous. Only little thing I think they could work on is communicating the wait time a little better. We ate here last week and there was a bunch of us standing in the waiting area and no one knew how long it would be. They sat us after about 10 min's but I still would have liked to know.

I'm a fan and I think having the owner as our server and speaking Spanish helped our cause. She explained certain parts of the menu and why/how they are different. Similar to another reviewer, al pastor is only pork, not steak. The carnitas was chopped pork not shredded (keep in mind carnitas means "little meats") but they told us ahead of time, it was still tasty. With that said, shredded typically means juicy than chopped. I could have skipped the steak taco and kept the fajita quesadilla. Strangely, it was delicious. The chicken and veggies were well seasoned and cooked perfect. I wasn't a big fan of the pollo barracho mainly because its a green chili base and outside of New Mexico, I don't prefer it. Contrary to another reviewer, I truly enjoyed the refried beans. If anyone knows authentic, check out the restroom, it will prove the authenticity of the place!

My wife and I have eaten here off and on for over 5 years. It's a very good place for lunch or dinner. The cheese sauce they serve on some of the plates is excellent! I find myself either requesting certain dishes prepared with the hottest green or ordering a side sliced fresh jalapeno's. I order the Enchiladas Rancheros most of the time. They are excellent and it's a pretty good size plate to boot. The ground beef used in the tacos and enchiladas is prepared well and is not greasy. The salsa served with the chips is a bit different, looks like tomato sauce, but is quite tasty and has a small bite to it. The service is good. We have probably eaten here 30-40 times over the years and have never had a bad meal or experience. I recommend it to many and they too have had good experiences dining here.

This was not a bad place for Mexican food. The dish I had was good. I also ordered the mushroom quesadilla which was a bit problematic. The mushrooms tasted VERY canned!

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant. Always excellent food and the service is outstanding. I eat here at least 4-5 times a month and would recommend to anyone looking for great authentic Mexican food.

I've taken my family here for the last 5 years. The kids meals are priced right and are always a hit. Can't say enough about the magic white cheese. Service is excellent. I catered my 40th birthday and they were FANTASTIC. The food was hot and ready to be picked up right on time. We've tried other Mexican fare on and off, but always end up missing the El Pueblito experience. The fact that the restaurant is locally owned with the owner working her tail off to make the experience the best possible is only a bonus.

We went here last week for a late lunch. The place was relatively deserted - the man seating us basically just pointed to a table. No communication at all. Bad start. I got a burrito while hubby got the enchiladas. Neither was anything special. Service was sub-par, food was just "meh". We won't be back.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
