Had a great experience with a dinner that was so much fun. The owner of this restaurant should congratulate Cody on being such a good waiter. He is one of the best waiter we have ever had. He really knows his craft. Food was great. Dessert was also wonderful. This is surely a treat that everyone should experience.

I have very few complaints about this restaurant. I've been here 4 times now and have been satisfied with each visit. My girlfriend and I make it a point to come to this location once a year for our anniversary and are continuously satisfied. The Wisconsin trio cheese fondue is VERY wine-y. My girlfriend wasn't a huge fan but that sherry rang through strong and I loved it. We always get the Caesar salad which is not very big but I don't even mind because I know I need room in my stomach for the next two courses anyways. Third is the main entree. Honestly their main course is overpriced. Every main course. However the mojo cooking option is GREAT. Citrus and garlic-wow! Then comes dessert. Omg. Bananas foster and the chocolate s'mores dessert at the BEST fondues I've ever had. They have great specials that you can arrange; last time I had them sprinkle rose petals and place a vase of roses. Extra $$ but you can't put a price on her face when she walks up the the table. Yes you're going to spend money here. A lot. But from start to finish I've always been well taken care of and that makes me care a little less about the price at the end of it all. Great place.

My partner and I developed a taste for The Melting Pot while living in North Carolina. But who doesn't love a nice pot of melted cheese?! This was our first trip to the Louisville Melting Pot and we had a great time. Our server, Megan, was on point the entire time. From excellent drink recommendations (The Eiffel Tower forever!) to a warm personality, she expertly anticipated our needs and made sure we were set for maximum dipping. We are those people that show up just for a pot of cheese and a pot of chocolate - I have no regrets! We started with the Classic Alpine - a nice blend of Gruyere, fontina, and more. And to follow it through, we stuck with the classic chocolate and peanut butter dessert fondue. There was more than enough to dip for each course. In the end, my partner and I fought most over the apples during the cheese course, and the rice krispies during the second. We can amicably split brownies and marshmallows, but once some gooey rice krispie chunks come through, it's warfare. Parking in the area can be a little rough, so allow yourself some extra time while in downtown Louisville.

We went on date night here. They got us into a nice secluded area, which we appreciated. Our server, Rolo, was really friendly and chatty. We wished we hadn't been in a hurry that night, because he was a funny guy. One thing we can say: this is a hard place to eat quickly. It simply takes time to cook everything. We tried the four course dinner with the Good Earth (vegetarian option). For this option, I would recommend at least 2 hours 30 minutes minimum. We started with the cheddar cheese course. This is my favorite thing to eat there. The veggies and bread are unlimited, so you can ask for more if you run out. They prepare the food right at your table, which elevates this from a regular dinner out to performance art. The next course, salad, was simple but good. We both ordered the wedge salad (no bacon, since we're vegetarians) and the best perk was the sizable chunk of Roquefort on the plate so you could control how much of the tasty cheese went into each bite. The third course was a veggies cooked in broth. We chose the coq au vin, which is vegetarian. They provide LOTS of stuff to cook, including: potatoes, mushrooms, asparagus, raviolis (2 types), tofu and edamame. They also provide six different dipping sauces. Our favorites were the spicy cocktail sauce and the curry sauce, but they were honestly all good. Dessert is your choice of a chocolate fondue. We opted for the dark chocolate. They served it with fresh fruit, crumb coated marshmallows, pound cake, Oreo and graham cracker crumbs. I may be forgetting some things, but suffice to say, lots of dipping options. In the end, I think next time, I'd opt for the cheese and chocolate courses (our faves) and avoid the full stomach/empty wallet combination. Actually, if you just choose a couple of courses, it's pretty affordable. Hell, the cheese course is only $9 per person, which is a great deal.

My wife and I had been to La Fondue a couple of times, but this was our first trip to The Melting Pot. Since there are a lot of restaurants in the area and this area is very popular, parking was not easy to come by. That isn't the restaurant's fault, but did figure into the overall experience a bit. Once inside, the ambiance was very nice, the staff was very friendly, and the food was awesome. We had the flaming turtle chocolate fondue for dessert, which was amazing, but we couldn't finish after being so full from the other courses. Overall, a wonderful dining experience in a beautiful area of town.

It will be hard to review this since I wouldn't go back. This is just my personal preference, nothing against the restaurant. There was so much going on, it was hard for first time guests like my party. We've never been to a place like this and how long do we cook the food? What sauce is for what? I only burned myself a few times too. We had a good time, but the price was just ridiculous. If I am going to pay $85 for a dinner, I do not- DO NOT- want Tostitos as a garnish. That was probably the worst part of my dinner. It was crazy and fun, but never will we return to a Melting Pot.

What a disappointment. We were looking forward to a nice dinner. Our server Mark from the start didn't even introduce himself or welcome us. He just stood there and we had to tell him we wanted to order drinks. Very awkward to say the least. The drinks and our first course took way longer than usual. Once we were ready for the main course Mark was having trouble getting the temperature right so we could begin. As a result, we sat there waiting for close to 15 minutes. The manager came by and said "oh it's oil, that's why! Just wait a bit". Awesome. Finally, the oil was ready to go. Boy was it ever! Our food was incinerated on the outside and raw in the middle. The oil was smoking! Our server was apologetic but the damage was done. What made a bad situation even worse was that our server couldn't handle the situation. We told him that we knew it wasn't his fault, even though it probably was. We had to switch tables for the dessert course. Another 15 minutes later and I had to actually get up to find Mark. I find him on his way to our table. At that point it was clear that he had given up on us and did not care to deal with us anymore. The manager took $50 off our check and gave us some free chocolate fondue coupons. Once again we had to hunt him down to pay our check. It seems utterly ridiculous that a fondue restaurant is unable to provide its customers with a safe and efficient service. I will not be back. Does anyone want some free chocolate fondue coupons?

This place was a BIG let down. We normally go to the Littleton one but recently moved north so thought we'd go to the more convenient location in Louisville for our anniversary. First off, parking is an absolute nightmare here. For some reason they don't offer valet. Don't even try to go on a Friday or Saturday unless you want to spend a minimum of 20-30 mins driving in circles to find a space. This location is TINY. There were so many tables and chairs crammed in to this space it keeps it from being private or romantic at all. The space is supposed to seem rustic. In reality it seems run down. Our waitress was ok, nothing amazing. She seemed annoyed to be working for the first half of our meal but then calmed. I don't know, maybe she took some shots or went outside to smoke a joint (it is right by Boulder after all). She messed up our salad orders, forgot our butter for the lobster until the lobster was nearly gone, and when we ordered celebration shots she brought us a martini and 2 shot glasses, so we essentially had to make our own. The food was fine but let's face it, you cook it yourself, so if it's bad it's probably your own fault. Would I return to the melting pot? Yes. Would I return to the Louisville location? NEVER. I would rather drive over an hour to get to the Littleton one than 20 mins to return to the Louisville location.

I come to the melting pot at least twice a year for special occasions. The dinner is always a fun experience. We like to come with a group larger than 4 people so that you can get two burners. We always do the cheese dip with salsa and chips and then another more white cheese for veggies and bread. The turtle dove chocolate fondue is the highlight of every trip. The place seems very well run and I always look forward to coming back.

Three of us went there for two of our birthdays. Parking is hard, not the restaurants fault. When we arrived, we were the only ones there, we were seated in a dark corner, would've rather been seated near a window where we had some light and could see outside. We had the "special", which ended up costing us over $150 and didn't have alcoholic beverages. Food was just "okay", nothing spectacular. They were told there were two birthdays at the time we made reservations and we were told there would be a traditional birthday dessert. We reminded the host and the server when we arrived about the birthdays. Nothing was mentioned the entire time we were there. The server dropped off our check, we left cash, with a hefty tip. As we got up to leave, the manager ran over to our table, grabbed the folder with the money, opened it to be sure we paid. That was embarrassing. Needless to say, we won't be going back.

Not sure about the other Melting Pot locations, but this Louisville location is mediocre at best. In my option if the manager doesn't know how bad his server 183.James sucks and for the most part the service in the whole place sucks. Well then I guess you need to look at the manager and fire his Butt! For the high end price you pay to boil your own chicken you think that they would hire servers that acted like they gave a crap! SO do your self a favor, when you feel the need to boil your own food go to the other location their reviews seemed better, because for the price $$$ at this Louisville location the Management just doesn't give a crap.

I went out with a very special friend, just the two of us, and I know he really likes food, and has a love for cheese, so this was a home run! We went to the Louisville , Colorado location, and we had Jess as our great server! He was knowledgeable, informative and made us feel very comfortable within a short time. I had never been to any fondue restaurant, and being that this was my first fondue experience, Jess was great in describing how to navigate the menu, what the steps were, and was very efficient in a friendly manner. I had the Ahi Tuna, and it was delectable! My special friend had the surf and turf combination, and it was amazing! We will definitely be back ! Thank you for a magical evening!

I love the melting pot! I usually frequent the Littleton location (which is better in my opinion) but we decided to switch it up and try the Louisville location for Easter dinner this year. They were offering a special that was too good to pass up, $29 per person for 3 courses, which is a steal. The meal it's self was enjoyable, as always. My least favorite entree is the chicken, they should put some kind of marinade on it or something so it doesn't taste like just boiled chicken. My favorite was the pork tenderloin, it has the most flavor, and tastes great dipped in the curry sauce. I also love the green goddess dipping sauce on all my vegetables. My one big gripe about this visit was the service. It was seriously lacking. Every time we needed refills on our drinks the waiter was no where to be found. You are able to ask for more vegetables or bread for the cheese or more dipping sauces for the entrees, and every time we asked for something extra we would be finished by the time it actually showed up at the table. It was definitely a little frustrating. And by the time we were finished with our meal, everyone who had come in after us had left already. I think I'll stick to the Littleton location.

Even though I have driven past the Melting Pot in south Denver many times, I have never eaten there before. My 19 year old daughter met some friends at the Louisville location about a month ago and raved about it - so we thought we would give it a try. My wife is a Celiac (must eat gluten free), and we had printed off the gluten free menu off your web site. When we mentioned this to Robert (our server), he basically said "you can put that away - I will take care of you and make sure your food is safe for you to eat." It was an absolutel pleasure for my wife to be able to eat out at a restaurant without having to constantly watch out that there was no gluten in her food. Robert had a full understanding of her dietary issues, and made sure she didn't have any problems. This was our anniversary (23rd), the roses (which you can order - ether just pedals, 3, or a dozen - obviously for an extra cost - which was reasonable) were on the table waiting for my wife, and we were quickly served our drinks. The food was terrific and the service was the best. Robert and the rest of the staff made sure throughout the night that it was a special evening for us. I highly recommend this place!

Andrew S. was absolutely amazing! After working in the "fine dining" industry for many years, I have an abnormally high bar when it comes to quality of service. Needless to say, Andrew far exceeded my expectations. He was punctual, personal, knowledgable, energetic, and most of all- FUN! Hands down, without a doubt, you have an absolutely amazing young man working for you. I accidentally stabbed myself with one of your fondue skewers, (please note that I was perfectly alright) and per my request, Andrew brought me a personalized band-aid with "The Melting Pot", hand written on it. This was one of the MANY thoughtful touches that Andrew included in our evening to make it more than just a dining experience; it was magical. I'm not sure if you are aware of Andrew's impeccable table presence, so I was hoping to write a review that would be slightly short of screaming it from the roof-tops. Please, do yourselves a favor and promote this young man from within. A server of his caliber would bring forth a quality of leadership that most could only aspire to be.

Love fondue!! This was my 2nd melting pot that I've visited and I loved it just as much as the 1st time I ate there. Love the concept of cooking your own food. It is pricy but it's worth the splurge! We always get the 4 course featured meal, it's a tad bit cheaper that way and they've always let us substitute things we don't want. My favorite part of the meal is the dessert. We get the flaming turtle, they give you strawberries, rice crispie treats, brownies, bananas, marshmallows, chocolate marshmallows, pound cake, and cheesecake! Yum!!! Make my mouth water just thinking about it!!

My boyfriend and I have eaten here for 2 of his birthday celebrations and 1 anniversary. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The food out of this world. We love the Coq a Vin cooking style.

This is actually my favorite restaurant. It's a little pricey, and you have to just enjoy the whole fondue experience to appreciate it. But I love the quirky decor in this location, and it's a fun way to while away a couple hours besides just having another steak somewhere.

Wow. We were seriously underwhelmed when we visited Sunday night. After last year's terrific dinner, I decided I wanted to go to Melting Pot in Louisville for my birthday again this year. I played it safe and made my reservation a month in advance knowing that Denver Restaurant Week started that same weekend. No problems with the reservation per se, but both my hubby and I felt that the staff treated guests requesting the DRW menu just a little bit differently, and not in a good way. It started at arrival. I wish I had caught the name of the nicely dressed gentleman in the gray suit and purple tie at the hostess stand, or rather, leaning on the hostess stand flirting with the waitress. He seemed rather put out to seat us once he looked at the list to confirm our reservation. Sorry, sir, I know it's hard work flirting but the managers pay you for a reason. Our server, Drew, started out nice enough, but the minute I mentioned we wanted the Denver Restaurant Week menu, he immediately rushed through his speech so he could jet out of there. I almost had to grab him to ask for a wine recommendation, and all he could muster was, "Well, I'm a cab guy." While he did recommend a terrific cabernet, at no point did he ever ask if I'd like a refill during the entire service - and, our water glasses weren't refilled much at all, either (although he did a nice job spilling water all over hubby's shoes the one time he did refill our glasses.) Pacing was off as well. One thing which impressed me last year was that as fast as we'd finish a course, the next was always magically ready before we even realized it. This year, lots of empty plates and twiddling our thumbs. The restaurant was not especially busy (less than last year to be honest). Perhaps kitchen issues? These problems seemed to plague two of the other tables in our section who were both there for DRW, but not the party behind us who seemed to be doted on the entire evening. I understand, they probably don't make a fortune of DRW. But what Drew didn't realize was that we were prepared to spend a little extra on beverages and don't mind an upcharge for things like mojo broth, etc. We like the DRW menu because of the chance to sample so many different things, not because we're cheapskates. After this year, though, we may take our business elsewhere. Sorry, guys!

The food is delicious! That is about all I can say that is positive. The issue is that fondue places are also about the experience - and that is what is severely lacking here. I have been here with an assortment of friends as well as my husband over the past few years and each time the experience gets worse. The last three times our reservations were messed up and we weren't even given an apology. The servers are unprofessional and are slower than molasses. What kills me is that you're then supposed to tip them this absurd amount based on percentage because your bill is astronomical....all for ridiculously subpar service. Looks like we are done with The Melting Pot. I wish there were more options like this locally!

My wife and I went to Melting Pot for anniversary and we both left disappointed. Food was not bad, but it certainly is not worth $100 for 2 people (drinks will be more). It is way overpriced. We will not return even if it was half price, it is not impressive. If you do 4-course, you will start by sharing Cheese fondue, it was good but bread is not tasty and you get a little bit of vegetables (couple carrots, broccoli, cauliflower) and apples. After that you get a small salad. Third course is your main entree and you have to cook it in the broth, I ordered "Land & Sea" and you get 4-5 pieces of chopped steak, 4 small pieces of chicken and 4 shrimps (that's your main course). There are some vegetables that go with main course and you have to cook them too (you will share some broccoli, potato, mushroom). Dessert was good, but nothing special. Overall: overpriced food that you have to cook. Will not come back.

My first experience with the melting pot was last night for restaurant week. The food was good, but I was expecting more cheese-dipping (which only occurs with the appetizer). I was surprised that we had to cook our own food...it wasn't very relaxing trying to time the different meats. The teriyaki beef as well as the shrimp were very good though. Overall, I really enjoyed the appetizer (even with the standard cheddar it was outstanding) and the milk chocolate fondue. The service was sub-optimal though. The waiter seemed annoyed that we chose the restaurant week option and made us feel awkward about it.

The Melting Pot is always a consistent and enjoyable meal. I especially like to go with groups as it is a very social dinner and allows everyone to mingle and discuss. This melting pot as like all other I have been to had great fondue, many choices and the service was top notch. If you want a great family / group event this is the place!

"This visit we came in to purchases a gift card for family, as we love the Melting Pot so much. The entire staff in the restaurant was friendly and helpful. We had a drink at the bar while waiting, Haley was personable and friendly. She informed us about many of the available wines, as well as about a local tequila that they had, made in Golden, CO. (State-38)"

I am kinda shocked anyone has had a bad experience here. I went last year for my birthday, and again last night for my boyfriends birthday. Both times have been nothing short of wonderful. The experience is so much fun. The food is so tasty. I love everything about this place and will continue to go back. I would highly recommend this place.

Nathaniel was fantastic and so was our meal. He made some great suggestions for us and was quick to get us a sample of a wine that we were interested in. Towards the end of the evening it seemed that their seating scheme broke down, and he was given every new table that came in ... that meant that he was rushing, which was totally NOT his fault but did affect the level of service despite his best efforts to the contrary. As always we enjoyed our dinner at the Melting Pot in Louisville and will return!

I took my first trip to The Melting Pot (Louisville location) this past weekend. It was a Friday night, and we were without reservations. The host was super polite, and let us know that we'd be seated as soon as something opened up...within an hour. So, my bf and I sat at the bar and enjoyed a flight of local beers, before settling on a Vanilla Porter and a New Belgium Oatmeal IPA (yum!...the Oatmeal makes the drink super smooth...almost like a nitro pour). We hung out, and within 30 minutes were being seated. The first thing that struck me was how interesting the building was! I can see why people call this place romantic...dark wood, dim lights, and multiple rooms with seats abound. We sat on the main floor near the back, a party with multiple kids nearby and a four top next to us. Yet, due to this place's acoustics, it really felt like we were alone! Within minutes, a very happy server stopped by and we began the rounds of fondue! Settling on the signature cheddar for the cheese round, we weren't disappointed. The combination of cheeses with bread, veggies, and apples (!) for dipping was fantastic! I really could've stopped there! Then, we had the House Salad which was the perfect quantity in between all of the other rounds of fondue. Next up was the meat fondue round. We went with a sampler, and again were really pleased! I love the little potatoes, broccoli, and mushrooms that accompanied the shrimp, pork, chicken, and two types of red meat (I don't eat red meat, so I couldn't really tell you what they were!). Along with the food, there were 6 different dipping sauces to choose from: teriyaki, curry, a sour cream concoction for the potatoes, creamy gorgonzola, and two others. Yum! Then, of course, came the most decedent portion of the night: the chocolate fondue! We went with the Flaming Turtle (to which our waiter literally added a gravy bowl of flames!), and were in heaven! Holy cow...bananas, brownie bites, pound cake, strawberries, cookie parts, rice crispy treats....all provided to be dipped into the equally as delicious chocolate/caramel fondue. I'm hungry just thinking about it all! Overall, I was very happy with every part of my experience at the Melting Pot, and can't wait to go back!

This place was terrible from the get-go. Everything was wrong down to the reservation. it was so bad that we ended up walking out in the middle of dinner. This place is old and tired. One of the burners at our table didn't work properly so our fondue was not heating up. We were brought dirty glasses that had to be replaced. The server was forgetting things. There was no way I was gonna sit through this dinner at the prices they were asking. Steer clear of this place!

The service was great, the food was delicious! The ambience was romantic... Our server knew the menu well and had some great recommendations. They were very careful with my food allergy and the timing at which each course came out was prefect for us to enjoy our friends and drinks (from the bar). I have been to the Littleton location and thought this one to be more charming. We will go back. We stuck with the set "Double Date" menu and were not disappointed. Bananas foster and dark+ white chocolate fondue are the way to go :)

I want to start by saying that we love your restaurant. So maybe you have a suggestion about our issue. We visited your restaurant last night for our 30th anniversary, and we loved your food, your hostess was very lovely and our server Jess was outstanding. Our problem stems from a couple with a crying baby that was seated nearby. The baby cried and fussed off and on for 2+ hours. The parents never once took the baby out. I know at least 2 different couples asked for different seating as they did not want to be seated that close to them. We put up with this for the whole 2 hours of our dinner. We kept hoping that one of the parents would take the baby out. My husband did speak with the manager afterward. He was polite about it, but with a bill over $200, and a special night ruined, will we ever come back? Will any of the other customers from last night come back? I know we were not the only people disturbed over this-but how far should a customer have to go to get a nice, special evening? Should I have gotten up and suggested they leave? Should the manager have done this? Should I have asked our server to hand the other couple our bill? No offer was made by the manager to comp any/part of our bill, or for a future visit. Can you please address this issue with your staff and future customers at least? Can you offer a "family night" or at least keep small babies separated? We have kids, we like kids, we just don't want other people's kids ruining our evening. Rude people just ruin it for everyone...... :(

This is so fun! The building is different from the normal strip mall vibe of other Melting Pot restaurants I have been to. There is an old mine shaft that they are using as part of the dining room, and cool mining accents throughout. The food is of course wonderful and the fondue thing is always a good time. My husband and I came here one night after-hours for a ghost hunt, which was creepy and fun! They claim that the spirit of a woman and possibly local miners remain in the restaurant because of the location and the use of old mining stuff in the décor. If you are in the mood, try to get there for the "early bird" or happy hour special, which is a cheaper way to get the exact same dinner you would get a couple hours later!

Liza was fantastic! She went out of her way to make sure our dining experience was great. We had a member of our party with a gluten intolerance and she went as far as replacing all of our utensils between courses just to be sure there wasn't any cross contamination of the gluten free pot with skewers that had been used to dip bread. Her knowledge of the menu and friendly demeanor turned a great night into an exceptional night. We will definitely be back!

Loved visiting this location with my boyfriend and his daughter. Our server was amazing, recommending particular dishes that the little one might like and suggesting things we might like - very helpful and kind! Service was generally prompt, although we waited about 20 minutes after we finished eating (in a nearly empty restaurant on a Friday evening) for our check. That said, I'd go back, especially just for dessert!

I will still come to this location as it is the closest to me but I have had two experiences here which knocks my rating down one star. The first was when I ordered a martini being charged for a martini + a shot of baileys instead of just making me the Baileys Espresso Martini from the menu, so almost $20 for a single martini. I paid it and didn't complain because it wasn't the waiters fault I had ordered the martini at the bar and they transferred the tab. The second was when I came in for a fixed menu, waitress offered to switch to the fiesta cheese, then being charged the upgrade fee when I had specifically asked if there would be one and told no. So lessons learned. Always pay my bar tab before transferring to my table and if I am ordering from a fixed menu do not substitute, period.

The experience is always nice. Third time going as of this year. I think it's more about the atmosphere then anything else, though. I had the four course fondue: Cheddar cheese, California salad, the original five meats w/shrimp, & the flaming turtle. All of which were good. I told the waitress to surprise me with a drink and she did good. Everything feel worth while when it came to the meats. Over all, it costed $200 for three and was about the experience and the atmosphere. Definitely good for special occasions.

Now I know why I'd never been to the Melting Pot before. Why are fondue places always so underwhelming? The idea sounds great, but we had a lousy experience at a restaurant in San Francisco that wouldn't let us "just" order dessert, and the Melting Pot had a similar attitude. I made reservations for a busy Friday night. My six year old had just finished first grade, and I thought that chocolate fondue sounded like a fun way to celebrate. We arrived on time, and my first impression was that this is a cool looking restaurant, kind of like an old castle or haunted house. Oh yeah, it smells bad too. I guess it's that mix of seafood and poor ventilation. Oh well. Anyway, we were seated promptly (the place was packed) but strangely, after the usual "your server will be by in a minute with your menus", the hostess threw ONE menu on our table (for 3 people) as she walked by a minute later. If you're keeping score, so far, the place smells bad and the hostess is rude. It was unbearably loud too, until someone had the good sense to close one of the doors that separates the different rooms. Our server was much nicer, although I wasn't amused to learn that we could only order one type of fondue, since the table had just one burner. My daughter wanted a Yin Yang mix of white and dark chocolate that didn't interest me at all. Oh well. The fondue wasn't great anyway. The quality of the chocolate was sub par. I'm used to eating high quality, high cocoa content dark chocolate, and this didn't come close. They also skimp on the goodies to dip into the chocolate, to the point where our server felt bad and offered us some more strawberries to go with the few we had been given. Seriously, for $29 plus tip, I expect more than a couple of crumbs of cake, brownie bits, and a few marshmallows. I won't be back. I guess there's a niche for the Melting Pot, but count me out next time.

for the last two times I have come to this location, I have not been impressed with the service. Spending over $120 for food drink etc, I expect better from the Melting Pot. The service has been okay and last night was not acceptable at all. Our server was probably the worst we have had in the 5 years we have come to this location. I am thinking I am done with Melting Pot, but especially this location as a result of this. I agree with the guest (LESLIE) Who posted recently about being underwhelmed and how the people ordering the 5280 menu were maybe not treated well at all. If this is true, the manager needs to address this ASAP - it is unacceptable. Our server was not good, but the manager honored our request to sit at a 2-pot table away from the bathrooms. That was nice and the only reason I didn't give them 1 star.

My girlfriend and I went to The Melting Pot in Louisville on Monday night to celebrate our one year anniversary. I had been to another location and had done fondue at other places but hadn't been to this one before. I was wondering what type of building it would be in, hoping there wasn't a modern feel to it. No worries, it had all the old building ambiance I would ever want. The only glitch in the evening was waiting for someone to take our drink order after we were seated. It took about 15 minutes for our waiter to finish giving his spiel to a few tables about food safety and how to use the equipment without injuring anyone. If the wait staff can't get to new tables for such a long period of time it would seem to make sense to have someone else take the first drink order a few minutes after being seated. We went for a the Wine Dinner special, which is $100 per couple and includes a bottle of wine. Of course the wine we wanted was another $20 and they were actually out of it, so they swapped out another (better) bottle and we were on our way. Everything the rest of the way was outstanding - the Wisconsin Trio Cheese Fondue, California Salads, a wide variety of meats, and the Chocolate Wildberry Crunch Fondue. They even brought us a couple of glasses of champagne with the desert - and told us we could keep the flutes, nice touch!

First of all - I would say this is somewhere you go for the experience - not necessarily the fine cuisine. Three of us - myself, my husband and my 13-year old son went here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. One problem is that as a table you all have to agree on the type of cheese and the type of chocolate for the dessert since there is only one fondue pot per table. It wasn't an issue for us but I could see how it might be for others. I thought the ambience was very nice - the building has a lot of character and didn't feel like an ordinary chain restaurant experience. Our waiter was very personable and very funny. My son who normally eats with the manners of a rabid dog was super patient with cooking his food one piece at a time. The waiter told each of us how long we had to cook our entrees - we all had our phone timers going to keep track. The food was good, good portion sizes - nothing spectacular though. My son loved the experience so much he exclaimed that he wants to go back for his birthday dinner.

September "Customer Appreciation" deal: 4-course set menu for $68. We saw this deal online and made a reservation to celebrate our anniversary. Very regretful. We were seated 20 minutes after our reservation time, when the restaurant was not even busy. A lot of reviews complain about this, I've noticed. Might as well just go and wait for a table. Anyway, our server told us about their specials but did not mention the one we had read about. We brought up the deal, and he seemed to turn cold and got very short with us. Our fiesta cheese fondue was the best part of the meal, and really the only enjoyable part, because by the end I was very uncomfortable with our service. Whenever I have fondue, the servers always explain what they are adding and making. I had to ask every time, and he explained the dipping sauces for the main entree so fast I barely understood a word. It was like he really wanted us to get out of there as fast as he could. Extremely rude and ruined our dinner celebration. The food is very overpriced in my opinion on the regular menu. Way too much dressing on the salads which did not taste very fresh. Love the cheese and the dessert fondue, but the dessert gets too sweet after a few bites. I would say it's best to share with a few people at least. You really go here for the experience, which was ruined. Will not be visiting this location again.

Denver Restaurant Week/Birthday dinner- I had never been but everyone in our group said The Melting Pot was awesome so I decided we'd celebrate my boyfriends birthday and conquer a restaurant for DRW... I was very disappointed. Our main server was weird... She was constantly confused. We had so many people come to our table. The server, bartender, food runner, and the bar manager... And our server went missing for long stretches so many of those other people couldn't help us. The food... The best part was the fresh veggies and apples and first cheese dip (Wisconsin Trio). After that - the lobster ($16 up charge) was salty and just wrong... Something was off. The shrimp was ok, the pork was gray-ish, the teriyaki meat (I'm still not sure what it was) was ok... Then there were these little spinach ravioli's that literally fell apart after 15 seconds in the broth... The dessert platter... The milk chocolate was ok... The white chocolate was a little blah... The brownies, cheesecake, strawberries - very good... Overall... For the price - I could have bought my own fondue set and made a better meal with better service. Luckily, Cards Against Humanity was waiting at home for us!

Love the decor, food, and the service make this a great place to spend a special occasion. This location does a wonderful job of making you feel at home and even offer special things for anniversaries, dates, or just a regular night with your special someone. The only negative with this location is parking can be difficult. Be sure to make reservations and get to Louisville early to find a spot to park.

We went for valentines day. When making reservations I was told they only had one special menu for the entire weekend. 4 course meal at $55 per person. Started out fine with the cheese fondue although there was about half as much cheese as we needed for the dipping items we got. The salads were watery and the dressings were tasteless as a result and when we mentioned it the manager thanked us for letting him know but never took off the price of the salads. Any quality restaurant would have done that. The main course was fine and the sauces reasonably good though not great. The dessert chocolate fondue was way to sweet and the dipping items were even sweeter. Then when the bill came they charged me for a $14 glass of wine even though I ordered the house wine at $9. The service was fine but the server must have main lined caffeine considering how fast he went through everything. Being new to the restaurant I think a little patience on his part would have been nice. Overall, I fel bullied and conned by the entire experience. For $175 for two people and only one glass of wine I would have expected better. A lot better.

I was fairly disappointed about my experience here especially due to the hype, the reviews in general about Melting Pot, and the price that was paid. I took my wife here for her birthday, and purchased their BIG "Lovers Lane" package. It comes with a guaranteed ready private table, yet we waited 20 minutes to be seated in a restaurant with 2 other couples inside of its lobby. The waiter was awful. Neither of us had ever been here before and explained this to the waiter. He half mumbled through some of the menu and flipped it around for about 30 seconds and said yeah that's about it. We specifically asked him to explain to us what our package included. With another one of his single winded flops of the menu, he vanished for about 30 minutes before even asking for our drink order. This pattern basically happened for the entire dinner. By the time that we had left, literally the only people left in the restaurant were mopping the floors and waiting for us to be gone to shut down. THE GOOD SIDES.................the food was really excellent! The cheddar fondue appetizer, the soup broth dinner, and the dark chocolate one for dinner. Tip: bring your own egg or boggle timer that you can count out increments of 2 and 3 minutes, so you don't have to fret about undercooking your chicken or pork in your isolation at your crash course in boiling your food on your own.

I love cheese and chocolate. Really just get those two, and skip the meal. I mean it is good, but the cheese and chocolate is the best part of it all.

If you have been to the melting pot before you understand that the food is phenomenal. That is not my beef with this place. This was the worst service I have ever had at a melting pot, and i have been to plenty all around the country. We were served our food before our drinks even arrived, which were terribly made and poor quality. The server acted high and couldn't keep up his tables although it was a slow Tuesday night. If you want to eat here, treat yourself right and go to the one off of littleton blvd, it's worth the drive.

I recently took some friends, for a total of 7, as a treat on me. We were seated around a pole in a pretty bad location in the back, that was next to an abandoned bar. This was rather odd as the bar was all of 5 feet from what I would suppose should be an intimate location for a large gathering. The server was rather put off that we didn't opt for a second wine pairing meal. A) This was rather insulting as those of us that were drinking chose the $120 premier meal and B) The two people that were not drinking were under the weather. The experience felt like they were having a competition for who could sell the most pairings, as restaurants often do to encourage servers to up-sell and increase their ticket amounts. This is sad in that you pay a premium for the meal here anyway, you shouldn't feel like you are being sold. Interestingly, for a table of 7 (5 adult,2 teens), there were only two burners. I mention this because there was no difference in portion size for the 1st and 4th course (cheese and chocolate respectively)compared to two weeks prior when I went with a friend (when I actually had a wonderful server and a fantastic meal). You can get additional servings of the items to be dipped, if you have the cheese and chocolate. I feel they skimped this most recent time, and I'm wondering if the server is actually the person who portions things out, and the quality of the two servers actually manifested in the allotted portions. I ordered the same $120 option both times and the most recent was short multiple items. How do I know this you might ask? Because the last visit was my daughters birthday and interestingly enough I took a picture of the desert as she was blowing out the candles. I don't mention this to encourage people to order less as a sharing tactic and then ask for a bunch of additional items. Rather, if you are going to go here, don't go in a big party where they stuff you together and short you on fondue, the only reason you are patronizing their restaurant. Additionally, the salads were entirely lackluster and lacking volume. Comparatively, the Bananas Foster desert was ridiculously good. In fairness, my last visit here was great. I owe that to the server. The female server we had previously was incredibly attentive and even came over and re-lit my 3 y.o.'s Birthday candles so she could blow them out multiple times. She was what I expect from a fine dining experience, making it memorable and worth every penny. The male server most recently seemed better suited working at a hamburger joint. After spending $325, I was less than satisfied and confused with the inconsistency, leaving me hesitant to consider returning.

This is my favorite restaurant in Louisville. The decor is great and was obviously designed with Louisville's mining history in mind. My wife and I started going there for special occasions when we began dating 6 years ago, and occasions there always continue to be SPECIAL. People below complained about the slow service, but that's obviously intentional--this is a restaurant you go to to spend a whole evening enjoying good company and good food. Expect to spend at least two hours there. Highlights are always the fiesta cheddar fondue, the coq au vin cooking style, any dish that includes shrimp, and the chocolate turtle fondue. Many of their Big Night Out specials are also delicious. Sign up for their Club Fondue before you go to get a coupon for free chocolate fondue with meal purchase.

Wife and I stopped in here for dessert after getting BBQ down at LuLu's. We didn't have reservations and they were able to get us in on a Saturday evening (around 9pm) - strangely though they needed our phone number to "confirm our reservation". While we were waiting we both ordered Irish Coffee from the bar. My wife had the "standard" one, but I'm pretty picky on mine. So I talked to the bartender and he made me a very good one with Bushmills (instead of Jameson), and no Baileys but instead a little dash of sugar. His service and skills stood out to me. We ordered their ying-yang dessert fondue, and both agreed the regular chocolate was better than the white (I don't like white chocolate anyways, but the wife loves it). They brought it out very quickly to us, and it was all good. Honestly though there was a bit too much very sweet stuff on the plate to dip into sweet chocolate for my taste, and even my wife though it was a bit much. They did offer to give us more dipping stuff when the plate was about empty and still had fondue, but we were way over stuffed. I REALLY enjoyed the cheese cake that was on the plate. Our server "went out sick" and the manager finished serving us (worried me about about the server, but neither of us got sick so all's well that ends well). I mention this because when we 1st got our check it had an expensive bottle of wine on it that we didn't order. The manager fixed it, and I'm sure it was just because of our server not being there. Still, pay attention to the bill. Personally I think they go a bit over board on the whole "dark and romantic" thing, but I can see how it appeals to some. Over all, I am not real interested in going back, seems a bit over priced and while the staff was friendly, they just seem to be full of themselves and trying too hard to be upscale. My wife may make me go back, as she still wants to go there for dinner.... well I guess we all know who wins that battle.

We came to Melting Pot in Louisville for Restaurant Week. I choose this one over the Melting Pot in Littleton because well, let's be honest, the one in Littleton is terrible and impossible to get reservations with. Carl was the best server I've had at a Melting Pot. He was attentive, helpful, fun, and added to the experience with his overall stellar service. I wish more servers were like Carl, I would come back to this Melting Pot solely for the service I received. The 5280 menu had some amazing food on it. Cheese fondue with bread, veggies, and apple slices followed by a choice of three different salads. Then the main course which had shrimp, teriyaki steak, filet, chicken, and salmon. Finally a dessert of chocolate (with nuts) cheesecake, brownies, red velvet cake, rice krispie treats, marshmallows, bananas, and strawberries. The cocktail sauce for the shrimp was heavy on the horseradish so it's not really for everyone, but I enjoyed it. Overall it was a great evening, delicious food, and amazing service. Will be coming back.

Best fondue, best value and best servers. I love this location we come about 2-4x a month and it's always a great experience. Sometimes if you get the wrong server it can be a painstakingly long dinner so that's why we request our regulars.

Food is good, customer service is lacking big time. Celebrated our anniversary and made reservations a month in advance, we were seated 20 minutes after our reservation time. We chose to do the Lovers Lane menu... Website advertises you get a printed photo of your evening in a sterling silver frame, well apparently that is NOT true. Instead I got an emailed photo (so I have to print myself) and they said they no longer offer the frames but I still had to pay the advertised price ($150 per couple). Maybe they should update their website! Got our cheese fondu and sat there staring at it for at least 10 minutes because we didn't have utensils and there was no server or staff member to be found. If I ever go to a Melting Pot again it will NOT be the one in Louisville... This isn't the first time I've had poor service at this location either.

The food served with the cheese fondue was old and stale. The food served with the chocolate was also not fresh and stale. The meat was decent quality, but the broth was mediocre. The mixed drinks were very obviously made with bottom shelf liquor. I'm outraged by the price with SUCH low quality food and beverages. I will never go back. Not worth the money.

Last night we went to dinner with a group of 4 at the Melting Pot in Louisville. We had, quite possibly, the rudest server I have ever encountered. Her name was Shannon. Shannon was irritated that we asked questions about the menu, irritated that my husband asked to have no Gorgonzola ( he's allergic) and argued with us because we were not ready to order when she came to the table. If you have the misfortune of being seated in her section... Run for the hills. She should consider a job with zero public contact. Fortunately, we spoke to the manager and he gave us a new server named John aka Trolley. He saved the night. Awesome service, this guy was a real pleasure. We loved the food and had a great evening! Loved the s'mores chocolate fondue.

I love the Melting Pot! I've been here twice, both times around my mother's birthday. Sure, it's expensive, but worth it. I loved the first time I went, which was a special occasion, and wasn't disappointed the second time I went. Everything is incredible! Both times, we had excellent service. Even though the last time we went, we ended up eating our chocolate at 10:30, 30 minutes after they closed, our server was extremely nice and accommodating, not rushing us or anything. I also really love their salads. I can't wait to go back for the next special occasion!

We came here for Valentine's Day. When we got there, we were seated only 5 minutes after our reserved time and we had a booth in a hallway - quiet, dark, and romantic. Our waitress was attentive, but not overly so. A couple times she came by to refill our water and said nothing, which was much appreciated. The manager came by at the end of our meal to see if we had had a good experience. The food was fantastic. We loved the dessert, but neither of us is a big fan of white chocolate. It was a bummer that our only two choices were white chocolate mixed with dark chocolate or white chocolate mixed with raspberries. We would have preferred some regular milk chocolate or dark chocolate with no white chocolate mixed in. Still, the food was delicious, the service was excellent, and yes, the bill was quite high - almost $200 for fondue and two glasses of wine - but it was a good night. Due to the expense however, we probably won't do this more than once a year. We had a very nice experience here, but it's worth mentioning that this place is a bit disorganized. We made reservations over a month in advance and received a confirmation number. When I called to confirm our reservations, the hostess informed me she couldn't find the reservation! It took another 2 rounds of phone calls to get the situation rectified. Not the most encouraging start to Valentine's Day. Another thing to keep in mind is that there is street parking only. It's worth it to arrive early to look for parking.

I went here for a girls night out. Cheese , chocolate , wine and girl talk! We had a very attentive server who really did try to find out what our individual preferences for food were that night. {That in itself is a Feat! If you have been on a girl's night out with about 9 girls, you know what I mean} I loved the cheese course and the chocolate course. The entrees for which we ordered the big night out, were not impressive. I like the basic concept of fondues, so for me it's a very pleasant experience to cook at the table and share the food.

I came to Melting Pot on Wednesday to get in on the "Restaurant Week" pricing that is going on the whole month of March. There were 6 of us in the party, 3 couples which made it easy with the fondue bowls and everything. We were brought upstairs to a booth, u-shaped and made perfect for 3 couples. It was great upstairs, we were in a very private spot and there was a skylight right near which added to the ambience. Ryan was our server, who was extremely attentive, gave us great suggestions, even swayed away from making bad drink decisions, and was just overall a very good server. I wish there were more like him in the industry, he seemed to truly care about his job. We decided to go with the cheddar fondue app for starters(for extra, you can have spinach/artichoke, four cheese blend, and a couple of other apps for extra). We decided to keep it simple and just stick with the restaurant week menu. The trick is to not fill up on bread, because it will make you full. They also brought granny smith apples out, which was a surprisingly good combo with the cheddar fondue. I had the house salad, with the tangy house dressing(kind of a cross between thousand island and catalina) which was super tasty! The salads were big, and everything in was very fresh. One side of the table picked the coq au vin fondue and the other side picked the mojo which was a great concept since we got to pick two different cooking styles. Made for some variety and difference. The sauces were also awesome as well, I enjoyed the teriyaki sauce, had that on the salmon and chicken. The filet didn't even need a sauce, it was SUPER tender and OMG good. Everything on our plate was just the right amount, and it was fun to interact with everybody and chat while cooking our food. The dessert was amazing too, the chocolate sauce came with caramelized pecans in it(YUM!!!) and the best part of the dessert was the oreo covered marshmallows and the brownie bites, of course, dipped in the chocolate. This was a super fun evening, no stress whatsoever and no rush at all for us to leave or anything. If I strike it rich someday, I will be back more frequently, but there will be a special place in my heart for the Melting Pot always, for special occasions!! Thank you Melting Pot Louisville for an unforgettable night!

The melting pot was a perfect date night for my husband and I. We had a very private booth that we could close off with curtains. Be prepared to stay awhile as you will get full service with many delicious options. We had the "lovers lane" which was so romantic. I enjoyed cooking our meat in the fondue and later dipping fruit into choclate. The price was great considering all the food you get to eat. The service was great. The waiters were attentive, helpful and happy.

Ok the reason for the 5 stars is Eric our waiter, HE WAS AWESOME he most definitely made our dinning experience a great one. He explained anything we asked him pertaining to our order we never sat with an empty glass he MADE it a wonderful experience. When we go back we will only ask for Eric! We did have a previous dining experience and OMG nightmare, but thanks to Eric and his excellent service the nightmare experience is a distant memory! We will be back for sure to have a romantic meal! ERIC you ROCK and thanks for making our experience an awesome one!

This was probably the most painful and confusing 4 hour dinner I've ever been to. Horrendous service!!!! Our table of 7 was completely out of water for almost 40 minutes. Our waiters were completely unprofessional, so inattentive, kept pushing us to spend more money when our party was very clear about our intentions, brought us things we didn't ask for, and forgot things that we did ask for (like coffee at the end of the night... We asked 3 times. Unacceptable.) The food quality was not good at all and everything was waayyy overpriced! $17 to boil mediocre veggies in broth?!?! For that money, you can get a creative vegetarian entree with actual flavor at a much better, local restaurant in Boulder. Next time, my family and I will have a fondue party at home. All in all, this restaurant is "high end" for the lower class.

Way to drop the ball...... On Saturday, May 12, 2012-I took my family to the Melting Pot in Louisville to celebrate our birthdays ( all 4 of us have May birthdays) and to celebrate Mother's Day. My daughter is expecting her 1st baby any day now- so this was to be a special dinner. Things got off to a very slow start- once we were seating- we were given menus and a glass of water and then we did not see anyone for another 20 minutes. The waiter finally came by and told us sorry- but he was very busy. Once we finally ordered- it was another 10 minutes before we were served our drinks. It did seem like the service finally caught up- and we were brought our cheese fondu and then our salads. The main meats came out- and I had to remind the server that we had ordered lobster tails- and they were not on the plates. I really have no complaints about the food- just complaints about the service and the management. Unknown to us- my son that lives in Seattle, had called the restaurant and had wanted to pay for our dinner as a birthday and mothers day gift. He has called the restaurant several days in advance to make the arrangement and was assured by the hostess that they would take care of things. He even call Saturday afternoon and spoke to the manager to make sure that everything was in order, that they had his credit card number and his phone number. . When the server brought us the bill -he was to tell us that it had been taken care of- and to wish us a Happy Birthday from our son. Needless to say= this did not happen. The bill comes- we pay for it. Nothing was said. On the way home our son called to ask us if the restaurant had given us his message. We had no idea what he was talking about. He was not happy- nor were we. The management clearly dropped the ball--- I would have expected an apology from the manager. I know that they have my phone number-because they called me to reconfirm the reservation. My suggestion is that if you are celebrating a special occasion -- find a local restaurant , with a local chef-that will appreciate you as a customer. What should of been a very memorable evening will be memorable but for the wrong reasons.

I had my first Melting Pot experience down in Littleton, and in all honesty, that location is better than the one in Louisville. Perhaps it's the design of it or perhaps it's just the decor was a little more modern (god forbid I use the term hip). If this location feels a little like a renovated tavern...it's because it is. The atmosphere is supposed to be cozy and intimate and it certainly is. It's an occasions place, not for an every weekend night out. Good for celebratory gatherings and just something different from the norm. Reservations are definitely recommended. Keep in mind here folks, that this place is for special occasions. They list the theme of the month on their website so that you can take a look and see what they're offering before you go. Often times you'll find specials listed for a good price. From experience I will tell you unless you really enjoy everything tasting like red wine, do not use the coq au vin cooking style. Wifey and I prefer the mojo cooking style, which carries a citrus/garlicky taste that comes out pretty well on most everything. Court bullion is a good alternative, but I would probably also stay away from the oil. Deep frying filet mignon is a crime punishable by death in the culinary world. The sauces they provide are tasty. With red meats I enjoy the gorgonzola cheese sauce. Their curry is my second favorite which is great for shrimp and chicken. I also enjoy the cream cheese/chives sauce, especially creating the "stuffed mushroom" which is basically turning the stewed mushroom upside down and putting a good amount of the sauce on top while letting it melt. All in all, it is a decent place to break the monotony of weekend dining. Also a good place to introduce friends to fondue, which is an experience meant to be shared.

I want to like it more. It is in an awesome old building. The food is fun. I enjoy fondue. But even if we have a reservation, we always have to wait for a table. This saddens me. We went in when the place was empty, around 5:30-6 on a weeknight, and we waited 20 minutes for a table. The service (aside from sometimes snooty hostesses) is super great, and if you are forced to wait sit at the bar and have a cocktail, the drinks are stellar. But is also pricey- we have found ourselves only going when there is a special or we get a gift certificate from our folks. We have also had good luck just getting one course and booze, like cheese and booze, or dessert and booze. If you get the whole four course meal they have to roll you out of there.

we went to the melting pot in louisville for 5280 and it was wonderful. it is the first restaurant that we have gone to for 5280 week that didn't alter it's restaurant table settings by crowding in extra tables. i realize this is a speciality type of restaurant that can't easily just move a table in and set it up for fondue but i must say it was our most enjoyable experience of restaurant week. you could actually talk with and hear the peopla at your table and you didn't have someone bumping into your chair every minute trying to either serve food or get up from their table. the food was excellent and the service was just as good. after 4 great course we walked out of there fat and happy!! it was fun and only the company was better than the food and service we received. will definatly be back!

Hubby and I love the Melting Pot. We have gone there for dinner for the past 2-3 Valentine's Days. We have always had a great experience and wait staff has been very knowledgeable and helpful with their recommendations. Everyone including the managers, wait staff, and bartenders have always been very friendly and helpful. They know the meaning of excellent customer service. The Valentine's Day Dinner has a set menu with two choices for each course. We love the cheddar cheese fondue, the buffalo for the main course (lobster doesn't work well with fondue), the raspberry walnut salad and of course the chocolate fondue (either milk or white chocolate - delicious!!) for dessert. Go hungry and don't be in a hurry because the entire experience takes about 2-2 1/2 hrs. It's expensive so that's why we only go once a year, but we love it!!

I went here with a group of ladies from work. The atmosphere is fantastic. Very dark, and romantic. The tables are set up so you have privacy. The food was okay. I thought it would just be cheese, but I was pleasantly surprised with the broth. The Chocolate fondue was fantastic The waiter did very well. Very personable and responsive. My only issue with this place is that it is overpriced. Its good, but not that good. I will definitely go back, someday.

My favorite date night restaurant. Consistently good food and great service. With the unique format you are forced to have a conversation with your dinner guest. My wife and I always havea great time at the Melting Pot !

Well, I took my son for his birthday and I'll say that in addition to the atmosphere (1970's mine building restaurant theme...remember all the bars/restaurants that had this theme ages ago) the food and service was less than stellar. First, I ordered a 'split' of wine (as shown in the menu) and was told that only the sparkling wine came in a split...really ?...then update your menus/wine list. Second, the smell of cleaning fluid (and the overspray from another table being cleaned) is a real turn-off. Third, canned drink mixes ??? Fourth, we were seated long after our reservation, even though there were open tables. The portions were tiny and the shrimp not fresh (limp and smelled so we didn't eat). The dessert was OK. Wouldn't take a date, or friend/family member back there again. I echo the 'waiter didn't mention the monthly or other specials' comments from other reviewers. Our waiter seemed a bit 'put out' when I asked about the September customer appreciation special. And, it was my son's birthday, which the waiter even asked about but did nothing special...no slice of cake or special non-alcoholic drink. We celebrated later, after leaving the MP. For the price...I'll go elsewhere for dinner and, especially, for special celebrations.

Worst service I have had in a very long time. We were there for 2 hours before I spoke with the manager and just asked to pay our tab and leave. We were sat 15 minutes after our reservation and then we just waited for everything after that. The cheese fondue was delicious and the salad was tasty but that is all we had. Our poor server obviously couldn't handle his section so we had to suffer. The manager was very polite but she couldn't make right the poor experience. We will not return.

This restaurant - like anything - has its time and place, and you have to know how to use it. Melting Pot, in my opinion, is a great spot to take (reasonably behaved) kids 8+ to learn how to behave in a restaurant. It's a nice restaurant - dim lights, cloth napkins, good wine list...but it also has flair that is interesting to kids. The decor is like a mine shaft (if you remember Baby Doe's Matchless Mine it's like that) and the interactive fondue cooking is entertaining. The restaurant is high-end enough that it provides a good introduction to dining for kids learning good restaurant etiquette. The staff was very good, the food tasted great, and the overall experience was very nice. I deducted a point because I guess that cooking greasy food at your table causes some weird dirty film on things, the vegetable options were limited, and I'd really rather have someone else cook for me.

My girlfriends and I went to The Melting Pot for dinner a week ago and we were really unimpressed. First of all, the atmosphere was off. It was SO dark that we couldn't even see our waiter (he had to duck under the lights above our table so we could see his face), and it was FREEZING cold in the place. We asked if he could do anything about the temp and he just kind of laughed at us. We ordered the feature dinner for two (shared among three girls - still too much food!) and the veggies that came out with the cheese were kind of brown on the edges and the bread was very salty. For the meat course we ordered the coq au vin and somehow every piece of meat tasted exactly the same. Not good. When we finally got around to the chocolate, it was SO late (we started at 8:30 and it was 10:30 by the time the chocolate came - much in part to the fact that our waiter rarely came by to move things along) and we literally just wolfed it down to get out of there. I had never been to The Melting Pot before, so maybe this was an off night. I might be willing to give it a try again in the future, but probably not anytime soon. Unfortunately it really just left a bad taste in my mouth and a disproportionate dent in my wallet.

This is "Our" favorite place to celebrate anything big! The waiters are always amazing and friendly. You get 2 hours of quality time with your loved one!

Server, Jeremy was really great. The food wasn't as good as it has been most other times I have been, but maybe that's just me. The staff is so cordial and accomidating. Great place to celebrate something! Parking can be a little tricky, but worth it.

Every thing was GREAT, except for the service, our waiter just flat out was horrible. The waiter forgot you drinks, forgot the side dish of the lobster tail we ordered, about 30 minutes he was gone, that's while we were eating dinner, did not speak UP. Just a bad night

We have been to several different locations, many different times, and this one is GREAT. The service was above the normal great service that you get at any Melting Pot. The food was wonderful as always. The atmosphere was better than the Dallas, and other Denver locations. The only one I have been to with a better atmosphere is the one in Phoenix. Be prepared to drop about $100 after tip and drinks for two...it is well worth it.

I have to say that I love fondue and have been to a couple of places. The Melting Pot in Louisville used to be my favorite. It was always a great treat. That being said they screwed up every part of the meal my last time there. To start, even though I made reservations we waited 20 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. (on a Tuesday night) Then we waited another 20 minutes to place our order. When the food came it seemed to be of lesser quality from previous visits and it seemed that they couldn't keep the oil at a regular temp. The restaurant itself was cold. I was surprised to see several people in flip flops and cut off shorts and there were several kids running around. Now don't think me a snob - I think all of that is fine but not in a place where I'm going to drop 150 bucks for a two person meal. To me this is supposed to be an occasion. With all the other fondue places in the Denver metro area and the diminishing quality of the Melting Pot Louisville I see no reason to go back.

This was my second trip to the Melting Pot, but first time to this location. The first time I went to the one in Littleton. I have to say I love the inside of this one better! it is very nice and dark, perfect for a romantic evening. I was told it use to be the old library in town. Anyways, their food is great! A little pricey. They have my favorite salad in the whole world called the california salad. It's got mixed greens, cranberies, raspberry dressing, walnuts & gorgonzola cheese! YUM! Since this was my second trip I didn't do the full meal. I got the salad for $6 and then split a dessert and it was the cheapest and best meal ever! it is rather expensive at around $100+ a couple if you do the cheese fondue, salad, main course & then dessert.

Great social experience. Fondue is excellent and great care is taken to make the experience memorable. Need 2hrs at least to eat. It's a slow fun process.

Always delicious. However, their dinner isn't their strong suite. Go for the cheese and chocolate fondue.

Fondue good! Fondue pots and cooking your own meat is even better! The Melting Pot in itself is a unique dining experience. It is a fondue style restaurant, bringing you the raw meats to your table, allowing you to boil a combination of spices and whine on a burner built into the table. Oh, and you cook your meat yourself! I will forever love The Melting Pot, even if it is a chain all around the United States. This particular location offers a very warm atmosphere and is well worth stopping in.

The Melting pot isn't really a place I would go for everyday dinner because it is a little pricey. But it is a great place to celebrate something or have a special dinner. I wouldn't say that their dinner is the best, but their dessert is fantastic! The chocolate fondu and things they give you to dip it in are awesome. The cheese fondu is also to die for!

First and last time I will ever go here. For the money, there are far better places to go. Where to start, well, I ordered a mixed drink from the bar not realizing they were $10 EACH???? Then, fondue was not what I thought it would be, personally, if I am spending almost $50 I would prefer food that isn't poached, the cheese was stringy, too much garlic (and I LOVE garlic), the portions of the entree were small, to say the least especially considering the cost and to top it off, we had a waiter (if you could call him that), each time any of us asked for water, utensils, whatever it took 25-30 minutes to get anything and this place was far from full the evening we went. Never cleaned off the table which made getting to the pots even more difficult. He got confused, couldn't remember who paid, who didn't, forgot to bring out salads and plates for everyone and granted, there were 12 of us, but I mean there were other large parties, and considering of course we were forced to give a 15% tip, the service could have definitly been better though not much worse. I have never spent $50 at a restaurant and received service or food like this nor will I again.

Expensive, but fondue at the table cooked in front of you is awesome and the kids love it!!! :) Dress up, apparently jeans and a t-shirt is a little frowned upon.

My husband, my daughter and I went to the Melting Pot to celebrate her birthday. The service was awful. We asked for everything that we ordered (different fondues, since my husband and I only had cheese and she had meat) to come at the same time. Her fondue arrived after we were done eating. We also ordered a bottle of wine that arrived after we had finished our dinner. It is not the first time we have problems at The melting Pot and I don't intend to return.

We ate here for our 20th anniversary together. Though it was our first time to eat here the place has been around for years and gets high marks in word-of-mouth recommendations. The food was great but the prices are higher than you'd think. If you order a multi-course fondu meal make sure you have the time. Also, the ambiance is very dark so don't walk in there tired or you might be fighting food coma near the end!
