    I enjoy Sushi Hana. The sushi is always fresh, presented nicely, and the service is always with a smile. I really do not understand why the negative reviews. Seafood is now incredibly expensive, either in the grocery story or restaurant. Thank you Sushi Hana for the many delicious dinners! Keep up the good work!

    Dear Lord. Make the Kenny G stop! The miso soup was good, safe no doubt from the reality of add-water miso paste. The staff were lovely. Now. My mum always warned me about these square states. Was I stupid to think that fried oysters and simple rolls of yellowtail and tuna would be a good idea so far from a coastline? Yeah. Probably. The fried oysters were bits really. I couldn't finish them because really, I wasn't sure that they were oysters. Tuna tasted weird, and the yellowtail was ok but sloppy. Pieces fell apart. Super duper sad face. I just moved here. I wanted sushi to celebrate my first paycheck at my new job and I got frozen oysters and old fish. I will give an extra star for the cold Asahi. But again. Beer. Like miso paste. Is hard to mess up.

    Incredible sushi, extensive menu, superb service. A gem in Longmont. Have eaten here countless times and always have a smile on my face leaving afterwards. Friendly people run this place. They always give you free salad and delicious miso soup. I wish they had some music playing though.

    I guess I would say I am a regular here. When I visit Longmont, this is my go to sushi joint. As far as décor goes, it is nothing impressive. I think it used to be a fast food restaurant. So if you are looking for something fancy this is not the place. The sushi and sashimi are always fresh and cold. I know someone posted that the temp was off, but every time I have been there it was on point. They have a wide selection of appetizers and hot entrees as well. As far as prices go, they are a bit steep for what you get. I think they may have trouble finding reliable wait staff. The ones that are there are running around like crazy. This is definitely something they should work on. Other than that, I recommend you give Sushi Hana a go.

    It was somewhat edible. Some of the sashimi was not even cold, but room temp. The rice was a bit dry and otherwise not great quality. The tempura veggies were decent though. I would give them 3 stars, but the rice is the staple/base for all sushi, and I make much better sushi rice. That being said, I am a novice sushi maker. Morimoto would destroy this place like chef Ramsey in a so so French restaurant.

    May not be the best in world but definitely the best in Longmont. Love the sashimi. Great staff. I don't get why low reviews I've had sushi around the country and world and I'm thankful for this gem close to home. To those complaining about the fish not being cold. It's not supposed to the. It's supposed to be stored cold but served room temp. Serving it cold can actually hide bad sushi as any old fishy flavors won't be as obvious when the fish is cold. Room temp bring out true flavor and quality.

    Enjoy this place. The sushi is very good, and they have some awesome specials from time to time. More than that, their more traditional Japanese food is what I crave. The Udon bowls are wonderful. Most of the time I order the Katsudon (fried pork cutlet in a rice bowl) and it's fantastic. The owner is very friendly and grateful for your patronage.

    The salmon sashimi was incredible. The food was well prepared with fresh fish, generous cuts of sashimi and good service. I'm planning on going back next time I pass through Longmont.

    Semi-Sensational Sushi Here's the deal.. Sushi Hana was my first sushi restaurant experience in Colorado. The ambiance is fitting and makes you feel warm and fuzzy in that traditional Japanese sort of way. Granted, I'm not sure if the owners are Japanese themselves but they did a descent job. This place has tons of potential when it comes to their space utilization (front waiting area). They can also start adding small touches and making it a more modern to get that crispy clean feel folks like these days. I'm not sure if grandmas stinky/tacky kitchen will ever make a complete comeback but some diners and cottage like restaurants do fairly well with it.. but I digress! The food is OKAY! They do offer lunch & dinner specials. I must agree that the fish isn't very cool to the touch. A lot of people are very sensitive to that factor and regard it as a freshness issue. All warranted since this isn't one of those fancy-shmancy omakase (google it) places that cost $400+ per person for food alone. Oh, how I wish to experience Urasawa in Beverly Hills. Anyway.. it was, in fact, not the best quality fish around. From the temperature to the texture. It wasn't bad but one may expect more for the price tag. I'd hate to say it but the on site sushi chefs at King Soopers can pump out some fair priced goodies themselves. We did receive great service. Very kind and cordial. Not sure if we will ever go back but I just might since I'm a sucker for sushi! Take that as you will...

    Probably closer to 2.5 stars, to be honest. This was our second visit to Sushi Hana and I was definitely more impressed the first time; this visit was just ok. The sushi is pretty good, the service leaves just a little to be desired but I would say the pricing is fair. I've come to think that a sushi place can be best judged by the nigiri sushi - you know, the rice-on-bottom, fish-on-top. Because there is less to dress it up, you can really tell the quality of the fish and it's a good basis for the value since it's not cheap. Sushi Hana's nigiri is just ok. A few of the pieces were a bit chewy (cuts of fish that aren't chewy elsewhere, with higher quality meat) and perhaps even flavorless. We did enjoy the roll that we got...didn't particularly care for their miso soup. We might continue to look for better sushi elsewhere in Longmont, though.

    I don't know why the reviews aren't higher on here, unless there is something fishy going on (which I guess is a fairly lame pun for a review of a sushi restaurant). Seriously, the sushi, the tempura, the service, the entrees - it's all very, very good. For my money, this is the best Japanese food in Colorado.

    Best sushi around. Andrew always has the most amazing presentation s..Great staff alwasy make you feel like you are part of the family. We always let Andrew order for us and he does not disappoint.

    This place has gone downhill, sadly. It was the best sushi in Longmont. Now we must go elsewhere. It is pricey, the place smells a little too fishy. They must have changed owners.

    This is the worst sushi that I have ever had, it was also super expensive considering the quality of fish. I don't mind shelling out close to $80 for two people as long as the sushi melts in your mouth - it didn't, and I actually couldn't finish my last bite and spit the salmon out. I have never, ever done that at any sushi restaurant. I seriously thought I was going to throw up. The fatty salmon was not what it was supposed to be: buttery, smooth, and wonderful. Instead I thought I was eating the nasty fatty part of a steak, you know the piece you aren't supposed to eat. The rolls were very small for the price, not only in length but in the amount of ingredients. I cannot believe that this restaurant was recommended. I will not be coming here again. I will be spending my $80 on a way better sushi restaurant in Boulder or Fort Collins. The staff was great though.

    When this place first opened in 2005, the food and sushi was very good. Things started to go downhill somewhere in 2010 and so I stopped patronizing the restaurant except maybe once a year. Recently we decided to give Sushi Hana another try and this will probably be our last time. The Beef Ramen has gone from a superb piece of art in 2005 to tasting like instant ramen! The pan fried noodle (chicken sorba) tasted no better than a Chinese lo-mein take-out. I was about to try the sushi, but the young hispanic looking "sushi" chef behind the counter did not instill any confidence in me about the fish and so I decided to not tempt fate with the sushi. Something must have changed since 2005 and so goes one of the last decent place to eat in Longmont.

    If I could give this place a ZERO star I would - the WORST service that I have ever experienced. EVER. After waiting AN HOUR AND A HALF for our food, which wasn't even that good, we wanted to talk to the manager who came over to yell at us!!! All the while the "waitress" ( say it lightly because she actually didn't do anything ) was telling us we were threatening her?! WHAT? We asked her how long until our food was out. how pathetic!!! Seriously take your money somewhere else... this is a WASTE!

    My husband wanted to get takeout sushi from our favorite spot tonight.... but they were closed. We had gotten takeout from Sushi Hana a few years ago and were seriously disappointed, I don't know why we expected anything different. We spent $35 on TAKEOUT- one Mango shrimp roll, one eel roll, and an order of their jalepeno appetizer since they were out of Fatty Tuna. Granted, $35 is a perfectly reasonable amount of money for two rolls and an app..... if they were fresh. I tried one piece of each roll, and that was enough for me. Even with added tempura flakes, everything in the roll had the same flavor and texture. Fresh ingredients stand out from one another, and this was certainly not fresh. The app sounded great- kind of a Japanese jalepeno popper- but was flavorless and soggy. I just don't understand where they managed to find jalapenos with no flavor or spice. To add insult to injury, our order came with one set of chopsticks...... and nothing else. I guess they're trying to cut some corners.

    $17 for a bowl of pork roman that was bland. The pork was dry. And the portion was small. Not worth the money. I went there one other time for three sushi and it was not prepared right. It looked like it had been premade earlier in the day. I think I will shop elsewhere.

    I was hungry for Sushi and happened to be in the area. I had decided that if the place was deserted, I'd eat elsewhere. Nothing worse than stale raw fish. Quite to the contrary... the place was nearly full at lunch. I ordered half a dozen different rolls which came with the obligatory Miso and a salad. Each of the rolls were very flavorful and were well presented. I especially enjoyed the Kobe beef roll. Although I didn't try it, they also serve a variety of other dishes including bento boxes and Malaysian curry soups. I'll be coming back!

    My family and I love Suhi Hana. We used to go to the Indian place that was in the building SH is in now, and when SH moved in we had to try it. My 10 and 19yo sons love sushi, and on birthdays and other special occasions we find ourselves here. It's always a wonderful experience. The miso soup is excellent and the fish seems fresh and in excellent condition every time we go. My sense is that the portions may be getting slightly smaller since they opened, but the kids disagree with me on this one, so I could be wrong. Anyway, it's excellent food at a moderate price. The staff and particularly the chefs are great. Highly recommended.

    Just don't order sushi or sashimi then you'll be correct. It may be the best sushi house in Longmont, but the fact is the fish is not fresh. You can just get the idea from the color of salmon. Anyway, Udon tastes good. The noodle tastes smooth, vegetable is fresh, and the soup is tasty.

    Generous portion for their udon bowl and appetizer sashimi combo, average food quality for a japanese restaurant, slightly overpriced sashimi and sushi. I'll forgive them for that since they have a very enjoyable seating environment. Although located right off main street, noise insulation was excellent, barely hear the traffic even though I was seated next to the window at a booth. Staff was friendly and responsive, got kinda slow towards the end when I try to get my check.

    I wrote a little haiku about Sushi Hana: Went to eat sushi. Stomach is still so empty. So is my wallet. Ron H. is wrong about portion sizes getting smaller - they were *always* small. If you come, be prepared to pay $15 for 3 bites of rice and fish. Portions are usually smaller in Japan after all, but even my Japanese wife thinks Hana's portions are very ungenerous for the money. We loved the Indian restaurant that was once at this location.

    My husband, the kids, and I love this place. The sushi has always been fresh and good colored for us. It also has a full menu of hot dishes that are fantastic. This makes it easy to take a non-sushi lover out and they will still be satisfied. The service is excellent, always helpful, always friendly. Prices seem par for a "sushi", a little high but as reasonable as the other sushi places in town. Sushi Hana is even more reasonable than several other Longmont sushi restaurants. I highly recommend Sushi Hana. It's our favorite sushi place in Longmont and we go as often as we get a chance.

    Tasty, and pleases even out-of-towners who claim to be lovers of sushi. Me, I nearly always like sushi... it's like an Americano; I've never had a bad one. I remember getting sushi in the subway in Japan, and to me, even that was good sushi. Only a few times in my life was it 'super duper'... and this isn't 'super duper', it's just very good. I do like the rolls at this place, they're well-put-together in terms of what they combine.

    Still searching for great sushi in this area, and Sushi Hana is definitely not it. The sushi was mediocre, wasn't even rolled particularly well, and the service was atrocious. We had 3 different people 'serve' us and only one of them was worthy of a tip, and sadly she wasn't actually our waitress. And talk about over priced--a bento box and a couple rolls of sushi ran us $50 (and we even had water to drink). Not impressed.

    I've been here several times with my Asian girlfriend, who keeps encouraging me to try new things, particularly seafood. I'm a regular user of chop sticks, at home, with any food and for cooking. We go to Sushi Hana for sushi, but we never get to the sushi, and wind up ordering the specials instead. We have not been disappointed. I've had two Bass dishes that were just yummie. The wait staff has always been good if a bit over-eager in an innocent way. Very nice building and environment with wooden booths. If you're looking for cushioned seating (I'm not) you might want to bring something. Parking is in the rear, and a bit of navigation is required to get there: heads up.

    When I go to a place with "sushi" in the name, that's what they should specialize in. Sure, they have sushi, but it's not very good. Not very fresh, not the right color. Sushi Leo over on Hover has MUCH better sushi. However, I do have to say that their curry was quite good. It's the only reason I'd go back.
