My wife and I got out for a brief meal without the kiddos and decided to give them a try. The atmosphere is really nice, they did try and seat us at an odd little ice cream parlor table barely suited for one but were very accommodating when I asked to sit ANYWHERE but at that little table. Anyway, on to the service and food, both were great. They had a good selection of bottled and draught beers. I had the Turkey BLT with Cole Slaw, it was a little small but filling and very tasty. My wife had Greek Salad I believe, it was fresh and big with nice mixed greens, not just chopped romaine. Unbeknownst to us they were celebrating the 6th anniversary of the restaurant so they brought us out a little cheese sampler appetizer for free which was REALLY good! We will definitely be back!

Met some friends for breakfast and I had a egg/avocado/tomato sandwich (I think there was pesto too) which was great. I was pleasantly surprised that this is not overrun with people on the weekends like most breakfast places (at 9 am, maybe it gets worse later...?) They have an awesome dessert menu and I plan to be back just to try these items (all of them!). My only complaint was a lack of specialty coffee drinks.

Awesome cafe. The gluten free options are many !! I had the frisco plus soup tomato florentine. Hubby had beef and cheddar-not gf with pasta salad. He said sandwich was great but pasta salad too much olives. Cute decor with local art

We met some friends at Sun Rose for lunch on a quaint location in Longmont. The service is very friendly, and considering there were 8 of us, very efficient. I started with the hummus. It was good, but not as flavorful as I like (but I make an excellent hummus at home). I paired it with a lemon drop. For a small cafe, they had a nice selection of beers and libations. I had the roast beef and mushroom sandwich with gravy. It was delicious. The meat was tender, the mushrooms robust, and the gravy pulled it all together. My dining companions enjoyed their food, smooth gazpacho (which was delicious), and various other sandwiches and salads. Solid cafe that is sure to please your entire party.

Finally got around to going to Sun Rose Cafe. It's been on our list for some time and we decided to go last night for dinner. Really good food. While it's very deli cafe styled, it was a nice dinner. Wouldn't put it up there with a fancy place, but a decent night out. Atmosphere was bustling and busy, it's open and you can watch the cooks behind the deli bar prepare your food, sorta. Food was very flavorful with no complaints. However, I would highly recommend the bacon wrapped dates. I've had them at some very high end places and these would rival them at any level. Trout and ravioli were our entries and both were excellent. The ravioli was made with smoked cheese, which gave it a wonderful flavor. Very different than traditional italian, but worth it if you want something different than regular tomato sauces. Good value for the food and drinks. Friday night they had live music, which was a small ensemble of blue grass. They were not loud and it made it very pleasant. Not a "high end" place, it is technically a deli after all, but good decent food for a good value.

Roast beef with mushroom sauce on sourdough... Simply delicious. If you like beef and mushrooms go for this. Beef was succulent, mushroom sauce tasty, and the cheese.. Awesome. Atmosphere-wise, high ceilings with sun-roof so the environment is cheery, and not to mention spacious. WiFi access is speedy and free, great place to chill out.

The food is simple but delicious. The watermelon gazpacho and the Moroccan lentil soup are both simple but flavorful. The sandwiches we had were delicious as well. The place is however quite loud for being a "cafe". Overall it's a great addition to Longmont's downtown scene, that lacks quality food.

This is a really nice little cafe. I like the atmosphere and the service was good. The menu had a lot of delicious options! My main gripe is that it just wasn't much food for the price. My mom and I shared their amazing bacon-wrapped dates with gorgonzola cream, which was $8 for 5, and then I had the half sandwich and soup. The sandwich was ok and the soup was really good! But even after paying about $12 before tax and tip, I was hungry again before we left the restaurant (and I don't have a big stomach!). It just wasn't a great value.

GREAT food and drink! When I am in the mood for a fresh awesome salad I will order from here. Only reason I deducted one star is because every time I order the "bowl" of soup (for pickup) the size is a cup. I wonder what the portion size would be if I got a cup of soup? Anyway, besides that great soup and salad, good food!

Bon appetit, Croque Monsieur!! We just found our new favorite lunch spot! If you've never had a Croque Monsieur, do yourself a favor and come to Sun Rose Cafe and have one! Great & friendly service with a clean and bright atmosphere. From the classic architecture to the beautiful artwork on top of the exposed brick walls, make this restaurant a great place to bring out of town guests. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some leftovers to pick off of my wife's plate!!

The Ham and Brie with fig jam is amazing, I'm not a huge sand which/bread fan, this panini bread was perfectly toasted and high quality! I tried to replicate their AH-MAZING Lavender Lemonade at home... Total Fail! Had to go buy a couple jug for at home, which thank you so much SunRose cafe for selling your spectacular Lav Lemonade for my personal home or picnic enjoyment!!!!

My wife and I came here for breakfast. I had the Tomato and Avocado Panini, which was great. She had the traditional breakfast, and really liked it too, particularly the potatoes and buttered sourdough. Service was fast and attentive. Restaurant was clean, open, and quiet (but that might have just been because there were only 4 or 5 occupied tables when we came in) We would definitely come back. Reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was price was a little high, but tolerable. If each dish was $1-2 less, would have been five stars for sure

Stopped at this little gem and was thoroughly impressed. Service, food, and atmosphere amazing! I got the salami and pesto scramble. It had the perfect amount of cheese and pesto sauce. It came out a little watery but regardless it was excellent. My boyfriend got the spinach and mushroom Benedict. It was so good it didn't need any other sauces to add flavor. The meal was delicious!! We also took a half gallon of lavender lemonade to-go. All the reviews raved about it!!!

This place has yet to disappoint! Love this place! Lavender lemonade, grilled cheese with avocado, and the tuna melt are our favorites. Breakfast is great too. You can't go wrong here.

Nice big cafe with friendly service and decent food. My gluten free husband and I stopped in early on Saturday evening to grab a quick bite. We really appreciated that they had options available for those with Celiac. Too bad his pulled pork sandwich was a depressing sight. They were super stingy on the pork, making the sandwich a sad sight to behold and not very satisfying or filling. I had to actually ask my husband if there was actually meat on the sandwich, bc it didn't look like it from across the tiny table. The sandwich didn't impress my husband in the slightest, prompting him to say he wouldn't come back, given the option. My grilled cheese with avocado and tomato was tasty and filling. I ordered soup as my side, but didn't get to eat it due to it's scalding temperature and how full the sandwich made me (I'm pregnant right now, so I fill up fast.). I enjoyed the sandwich quite a bit, and took the soup to go. Overall the experience was A-Ok. Nothing stellar, nothing too horrible (save the pulled pork sandwich.)

SO GOOD! how have I never been here before. Stopped in with some girls I work with and we got a few apps. First off, the sun rose mimosa is so delicious. They use lavender lemonade instead of orange juice and I recommend it for everyone. The best mimosa I have ever had. We ordered three different apps, the salmon bruschetta, bacon wrapped dates, and the cheese plate, EVERYTHING was delicious. I will most definitely be back!

Sun Rose is my family of three's go -to restaurant in Longmont. Atmosphere is welcoming, service is friendly, and, most importantly, the food is always delicious. We regularly go to Sun Rose for lunch and dinner, and have also done breakfast there on several occasions. Between my husband and I, we have tried most menu items, and haven't yet hit a dud. Favorites include the salami and pesto panini, avocado and tomato grilled cheese, tuna melt, turkey Rachel, black bean burgers, pork tenderloin, grilled sausage combo, portobello ravioli, tuna melt, flourless chocolate cake, and lavender lemonade. Soups are always tasty, as well, and their house salad is unique, fresh, and yummy. Also, their kids' quesadilla on pita bread is, hands down, my two-year-old's favorite entree when we go out. We always have a lovely experience at Sun Rose, so we keep heading back for more. Highly recommended.

One of our favorite restaurants in town. They have great food and good drinks, the sunrose martini with their lavendar lemonade and the dark and stormy are a couple favorites. The stuffed, bacon wrapped dates are amazing. The smoked chicken salad and the pork medallions with Yukon potatoes (when it's on the menu) are my favorites. I also really like the salmon with quinoa and arugula, but it hasn't been on the menu recently. They're creative and the menu is interesting. The food is always fresh. They always have nice, lightly cooked veggies on the side. The service is kind and professional here! All together things move a little slower in the kitchen, so enjoy a cocktail and/or some stuffed dates and relax, just don't come here if you're in a big hurry. They also offer a lot of gluten free options and if you suffer from celiac or a gluten/wheat allergy, I believe they have a gluten free zone in their kitchen! (Obviously, you'll want to check on that to be sure.) But if you're only intolerant or sensitive to gluten, you'll find good options here.

Another great meal hummus app. A must as we'll as the mimosas . The grill cheese with three cheeses and avocado, very tasty. The pasta salad was good but too many chili peppers it was overwhelmed. The pesto smoked chicken wrap was very good.

Delightful! We stopped in after a visit to a local orchard. We started with great lavender lemonade. My tuna melt was different (hummus and artichoke hearts), but delicious. I got a half sandwich with soup, and my lentil soup was terrific as well. I'm not sure I'll find myself in Longmont again soon, but if I am I plan to stop in at Sun Rose for a meal!

Excellent selection of sandwiches as well as plates. The Elk sausages are phenomenal, service was great, and definitely somewhere I would go back to. Portions are a little on the smaller side, but works well for lunch.

Came in for dinner and was very impressed! I had a ham and Brie panini with fig jam and a bowl of watermelon gazpacho. My wife had the pork medallions. Both meals were delicious. Server was very nice and attentive. Great atmosphere and reasonable prices. Highly recommended!

Where has this place been all my life?! Sun Rose Cafe is a hidden gem in Longmont. I think it went unnoticed for me for so long because the store front is small and, frankly, rather boring in appearance. However, when you enter the restaurant, the architecture and design give off a fun, eclectic vibe. With brick walls featuring local art, a dining bar, an open kitchen, and a fun ceiling, this cafe stands out from your typical let's-attempt-what-Boulder-is-doing cafe. (Longmont generally fails in that department.) Their lunch menu, in my opinion, is ten times better than their breakfast, but I was pleased they offered humanely-raised eggs. Their menu caters to your typical local foodie, with plenty of carnivorous, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. Lots if interestingly prepared options on the menu. I've had the Verdura deli sandwich, and even without the Mozz on it, it was delicious. I've also had their black bean burgers multiple times, and I must say they are set apart. Even the chips they sell (not house-made) are noteworthy! (Seriously, try the jalapeño flavor!) Oh! Also, order yourself a glass of lavender lemonade. The staff is friendly and know their food/ingredients/menu well. Kitchen is prompt and clean. The place fills full every time we're there. Seriously, this is a really yummy cafe and an unexpected place to find for dining in Longmont.

Absolutely loved it here. Doesn't look like much but the food is delicious. They have so many gluten free options and they taste so good! One of my favorite places!

I feel embarrassed as I've lived in Longmont for 20 years and have tried to support businesses in town as much as possible. God knows how many times I've walked past Sun Rose and didn't know that it existed. Until Saturday. We finally noticed it while walking up Main, and went in for a late lunch. Tables have plenty of space and the staff was great. They not only know the menu, but are understandably proud of their food. Our sandwiches were great. Fresh bread, fresh ingredients, at a reasonable price. They serve Breakfasts! And Dinners! How could we have missed this? This might be a new "walk-able" favorite place. We will return, and soon!

What a great spot! The ambiance is great towards the back, with high ceilings and lots of light coming in. We sat down and a very friendly waitress promptly took our drink orders. I was wearing a geeky shirt (lego Moss from "The IT Crowd") and she was excited about it, and chatted briefly about what an awesome show it is. The lavender lemonade was very refreshing, although my husband thought it tasted like a Christmas tree. My grilled cheese on seed bread was excellent, great bread and great cheese, definitely hit the spot as simple as it was! My husband's creamy chicken soup, however, was truly phenomenal. I don't generally like soup, and I could have eaten the whole bowl. It wasn't heavy like some cream soups, and was chocked-full of vegetables and tender chicken. And his sandwich, a "Mediterranean" tuna melt that was the special of the day, was amazingly delicious! I thought the olive spread would be overwhelming, but it was actually a nice compliment to the tuna. The menu is creative and large without being overwhelming, and there are tons of options for sides as well. We're looking forward to trying the desserts next time!

Just happened to be walking down the street looking for a place to eat (I was visiting from out of town) when I came across this quaint little cafe. I loved how it had a refrigerated case that displayed all the yummy cold cut meats and desserts! There was also a bar area, in addition to some plentiful table seating. I also noticed that there were some shelving that offered specialty grocer items to take home. The atmosphere was wonderful, well let and artistic with a variety of paintings and black/white sketching from local artists. The server was very pleasant and gladly recommended some popular items off the menu. I took note to some of the patrons around me and found their variable dishes to be equally tempting as well. I truly love the lavender lemonade! It was refreshingly different without being overpowering. And the fruit tart off their menu is just to die for! This is definitely a place I would recommend and would gladly return to! The price was a little on the high side, but I felt the food quality and experience made it worthwhile.

whenever I come to Longmont from California, all my friends ask me to meet them at the Sun Rose. Not only is their food consistently good, but it is a friendly place to catch-up with friends. Favorite sandwich currently is the grilled chicken salad. Very rich and good! Thank you, Sun Rose for a friendly, community meeting place! I'll be there again today for the 2nd time!

Adorable and spacious cafe that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and has a bar. Staff was welcoming and courteous. Breakfast menu has lots of variety: granola with yogurt and fresh fruit, a range of egg dishes including egg sandwiches. Yum!

Fives stars on all counts. Enlightened menu, novel, creative, delicious. Limited vocabulary restricts more superlatives, but they deserve the praise. Might be one of the best on the front range. Amended September 13- if given the death sentence, I would request the fiocchi for my last meal.

I had a great lox, bagel and fruit today. Fresh and perfectly rich and oily lox on a toasted bagel. I got it to go and it was fast and the service was friendly.

Arrived a bit before 8pm and it was very quiet-only three other tables. It took 10 minutes for someone to take my order. I ordered the grilled tomato, avocado and cheese and inexplicably it took nearly half an hour to come. It was good but rather small and way overpriced. The check for that small sandwich with no drink was $10. I am from out of town and am puzzled at why others find this place so great. The menu was not particularly inventive and, as a vegetarian, there weren't many interesting choices. I'm here in town for a while but certainly won't go back.

Hello, gorgeous, where have you been all my life? First thing, lavender lemonade! Lovely, warm space, great service. The special was a turkey huckleberry wrap which was wonderfully fresh, and the curried zucchini and chick pea soup? Forget about it! Enjoyed my first visit, can't believe I've lived here this long without stopping in!

Took some Celiac suffering friends here while they passed through town. They loved their breakfasts and commented that more GF places need to feed people like the Sun Rose does. Had a great breakfast!

Our breakfast experience could be described as having high hopes that were quickly dashed. The facility is attractive inside and features works from local artists. We had to try the omelets after hearing so much about them and from the descriptions they sounded wonderful. Service was very prompt with water and coffee. This cafe seems to attract the aging hippies and assorted fruits and nuts wielding iPads who camp out glomming the free wifi.....very annoying when there is a shortage of tables. The Novo coffee is very good. Our Reuben and Green pepper omelets arrived promptly, yet luke warm and rather bland. Perhaps we try again for dinner. Breakfast was disappointing. All in all you can get a better breakfast at Janie's. We were disappointed after hearing so much about it.

Lots of things worth trying here. I wonder however who would order the vegan black bean burger with bacon?

  • Christopher V.

We love this place for breakfast and they probably have the best waffle I have ever eaten. All the benedicts are great twists on the original, and I usually don't like benedict. They use a house made white sauce that tastes creamy with hints of herbs and wine, not a generic mayonnaise-type sauce. This place is a great example of Longmont surpassing Boulder. You can't get food this good in Boulder...no really! I've never been let down by the food here, any meal of the day. Once had a bad service experience there for dinner, but spoke to the owner about it and he is a nice guy and all the service since has been great. Lisa in the mornings gives us awesome service and remembers what we like! All in all, don't pass this place up. I hope they become a staple of Main street!

  • Scott C.

Excellent food. I mean, really excellent. It's also got a charming ambiance, and the owner is passionate about the place and, quite likely, he'll talk to you about whether or not you liked it and what he can do to make it even better. These guys would even do well in a foodie place like Boulder, but hopefully, they'll stay in just Longmont. I like the idea of having a place this good in Longmont that Boulder doesn't have. There's something just 'right' about that.

  • J A F.

I've never had a bad meal there. They have gluten free options which is a must for me. The gluten free is more expensive here that other places but the food makes it worth it. The service is adequate. If it's full of diners the volume is a bit much, they need to fix that. The ambiance is diner class.

Great breakfast. Friendly service and very interesting menu. I would like to come back for lunch & dinner. I had the basted eggs with linguicia. Fantastic. Coffee is really good too.

  • Krisitn M.

Great gluten free options. They have a whole menu devoted to their gluten free options. They use high quality ingredients. Owner is always there overseeing everything. He is really nice. Wait staff is almost always friendly (I did have one negative experience once but that's it.) Great atmosphere and really cool that they promote local artists. It can be a bit of wait for food if you go for lunch on the weekends, especially if you order gluten free. It is worth the wait though. The one complaint I could make is they do not have many vegetarian options.

  • Meo W.

Everything looks so yummy and everything I've tried so far has been so yummy....the people are always so friendly and patient, really is an awesome place. The Bacon is delicious, the smoked turkey is so good, mmmm the pickle slice they give me with my sandwich is really good too....very juicy. carrot cake slice was HUGE and amazing. I definitely don't mind paying 10$ for a sammich here...you know it's quality, fresh, and delicious, I did also think it was a small sammich the first time I saw it, but noo they do not skimp you on any ingredient so I was satisfied. :) I've heard people pay the same price or more for shit sammiches elsewhere.......

My family went to Sun Rose yesterday while we were in town visiting. We are from the South so this type of food was a little untraditional, but we are always open to try new things. We were greeted with friendly service and after asking about what was best on the menu our waitress gave us a few of her favorites. We were all pleased with our meals and our service. Sun Rose is a great cafe and we would all go back!

  • Amber P.

Sun Rose claims to buy the best foods, local if possible for their restaurant/store, and based off of some of their items being gluten-free and a little more "artsy" than most places, I poked a little bit of fun at them for being a hippie restaurant. I feel a little bad about this now. Where the menu items are definitely a little more unique and less mainstream, they don't go over the top with snobbiness. The atmosphere was nice and I honestly had a hard time deciding what I wanted to have for lunch. They are somewhat pricey for sandwiches though: with a drink my tab came to $10 (before tip.) I thought the portion was small at first, but it filled me up and was excellent. I will definitely be going back to try some of the other menu items, and really want to try breakfast sometime. Recommended on the Menu: Salami and Pesto Panini, Cous Cous Salad, Lavender Lemonade

Sun Rose Cafe is located in Old Town Longmont, in a quaint old and well-maintained building. It appears that the old ornate ceiling tiles were preserved, and they really stand out when you walk in. There is a deli counter and prep area to one side of the cafe, and on the other, an area that shelves specialty grocery items. The dining area is in back, and the exposed brick walls make a great backdrop for the art displayed by local artists. We visited Sun Rose for a late lunch and ordered sandwiches - I ordered a turkey BLT on marble rye that came with healthy slices of avocado, and a side order of cous cous. The cous cous had slivered almonds, dried cranberries and apricots tossed in - a flavorful combination. The BLT was also quite tasty, but overall it seemed like sandwiches were priced a bit on the high side. Even so, I look forward to trying their breakfast and dinner menus.

I love to eat, so you might find it surprising to know that breakfast is my favorite meal. What's even more surprising is how challenging it is to find places that do justice to my fave a.m. food: eggs. Sun Rose Cafe is one of those places where you know you're going to have a great meal right when you walk in the front door. It's like brunch ESP or something. My lovely friend Connie suggested that we stop in here for breakfast yesterday when I was in town, and I was impressed. They feature local foods from area farms, dairies, and bakeries, a diverse menu (a pretty extensive beer and cocktail menu too), plus a little deli at the entrance with all kinds of meats, cheeses, crackers, sodas, and other goodies. Good news is they encourage sampling if you see something you want to try and buy. Connie had the breakfast panini with rosemary ham, pesto, egg, grilled tomatoes and provolone - and since great minds think alike I had the salami-pesto scramble with fontina and provolone. Delish! At one point we both had to literally stop ourselves from eating so fast because we were scarfing everything down - it was so good, we had to take time to savor the flavors. We also both drank the blackberry sage tea with a slice of lemon. I don't know about you, but I usually like sugar in my tea and found that I didn't need it because the flavors were so tasty. I also totally dig the atmosphere of this place - vintage tin ceiling, a lovely skylight in the back, paintings and drawn art on the wall, a tall bar where you can sit and watch them cook. Oh, and did I mention this place is totally reasonably priced? $15 for both of our meals, and I couldn't clean my plate. That's a good deal to me. I will definitely be back! Check out their website for a live music schedule.

I went in here today on a snack whim. Unfortunately, they have a pretty limited menu of appetizer/snack items on the menu, but I happened to be there at an acceptable dinner hour so I went ahead and ordered dinner. I have to say, I found it kind of hit or miss. I ordered the Mediterranean wrap which was pretty much the same as any Mediterranean wrap. It certainly wasn't bad, but it lacked originality for sure. My mom, however, ordered the Fresco panini and that was fantastic. I don't usually like pesto either but it was just right. If you go, be sure to order a glass of the lavender lemonade. It's pretty sweet, but it's delicious!

A sweet little discovery thanks to Yelp! Enjoyed a late lunch before heading out for a little dorm shopping. Lavender lemonade was a perfect pick me up to start..followed by the vege wrap and cucumber gazpacho for 2 of us, really good Reuben for another, and elk sausage sandwich for the adventurous one at the table. The dessert menu was soooo tempting, but with too much to do, we had to pass...but we are going back for some soon!

Delicious, delicious! This is my Cheers! I have had nearly everything on the menu and there is not one I wouldn't have again! My all time favorites are avocado & tomato panini for breakfast with a side of the most delicious bacon. Lunch is either the verdura & salad, or southwestern bean burger. The dinner menu has salmon with an apricot sauce on salmon. Also roast beef & gravy and pork tenderloins. I love the lavender lemonade; the dirty martini is wonderfully dirty! Carrot cake is addictive! I love the servers they are attentive and pleasant. And the owners are passionate about the place and delightful to talk with. Great additional to Longmont.

Updating this one again! I am really loving Sun Rose these days! I am still super excited about the affordable and delicious breakfast options. I love that you can drop in to buy eggs (from Long Shadow Farm in Berthoud) and bread (from Boulder's Breadworks). Also, they now have their liquor license and offer some food in the evening. I haven't gotten around to stopping by to sample their drinks or dinners because of my baby, but I hope to eventually!

As a family group we choose to eat here one late morning. The restaurant was not busy at that time but they attempted for fit 9 of us into a seating area that would comfortably seat 6. Even though we were obviously crowded into the table, we still had to ask for additional seating to have enough room. The service was PAINFULLY slow. Everyone had to request a refill. The waitress messed up the order and blamed everyone from ourselves to the cook for her mistakes. On the plus side the food was excellent. If they could get their service to match their food and pick up the pace a bit I might be tempted to return. As it is we won't return unless we have a couple of hours to kill and aren't so hungry we feel as if we'll starve to death before our food arrives.

The setting is lovely, but the service is AWFUL! Our waitress was so rude. We waited 15 minutes to have deserts delivered to our table after our drinks were already made. We thought they simply forgot about us, since there was only one other table occupied. When we asked for our bill, they rushed back to prepare our deserts to take out. Not possible for me with 3 little ones, and on foot to boot. There was a lot of "nothing I can do" "you HAVE to take these deserts with you" "I can't unring your deserts, sorry, no one knows how to do that" etc etc. Both employees were very rude. I told them I would pay, but I was going to file a complaint. Suddenly they were able to fix the bill. However, they were very rude, they never apologized for not serving me the food I ordered, and they acted like it was my fault. I will NEVER go there again, and I strongly suggest you try the much more popular, ZIGGYs. They are able to handle a lot of customers, have excellent coffee and food. I just wanted to give someone else a try, and I am sorely disappointed that I did.

Finally convinced my husband to venture to Longmont for a brunch, and we set our sites on Sun Rose Cafe. They offer the perfect dishes for a relaxing weekend brunch but the Little Buggers are closed on Sunday!

This wasn't the first time I wandered on into this establishment, but it sure has been a while. It was way back when the first opened and my father has his art there for the opening month. Really nice couple that owns it, and I can't for the love of me remember their names. Either way, they was very nice. I don't know why I haven't returned, an oversight on my part I suppose. But now that this place is back on my radar, look out wallet and or stomach. For some reason this place is hard for me to find, not that it's not right because it totally is, but I just seem to pass it by. So be forewarned, SW corner of 4th and Main, bam! The place is packed with goodies, little candies line your backside as you ponder what to order. Baked goods fresh in front of you, while your order is made fresh. Studying the menu it's not your basic turkey and cheese sandwich place. Meat and Cheese sampler, umm yes please!! Tradizionle, a delight of meats on a hunky roll, Buffalo Brats? I've never even thought of how awesome that would be. I ordered the special ham panni that was amazing, I've never had basil with ham, but I tell you it was a good combo, the bread too was different that other places, in that this-is-way-better kind of way. The special came with a Mushroom Barley soup that was equally as tasty. My cohorts ordered the grilled cheese and tomato bisque. I have never had a grilled cheese with Fontina (which tasted a lot like Ricotta), but again it was wonderful. Tip the business end into some tomato soup and that's a mean meal! The little tyke in the group got the mac and cheese stuffed hotdog, who can think of genius like this!?!? She wasn't as into it as I was, stealing a few bites here and there. To top it all off, some Molten Chocolate Cake was in store. Whew, bring a shot of insulin for this puppy, it's sweet and mind altering (in the good way). Bubbling magma cake with chocolate sauce artistically covering the top and if that wasn't enough some whip cream next to it. It is a bit more than your local Subway, but when you leave here you don't like you've licked a dirty dollar bill. More like you're pleasantly at one with the sandwich Gods and you can feel their praise raining from above. Whatever it was, I'm going back for breakfast tomorrow!!!!

Sitting at Sun Rose right now after just finishing a delicious lunch. Caprese sandwich, cucumber gazpacho finished off with an italian lemon cake. Lisa took care of me, providing wonderful service and awesome suggestions. Next time I get back up here to Longmont, I'll be sure to come back here. Thanks for a great experience!

I absolutely love Sun Rose! I think I actually dream about the Tomato and Avocado Panini. I don't know what it is about that sandwich, but I can't stop eating it! The staff is always friendly and fast, especially with coffee refills. And the Lavender lemonade is really amazing. They have live music, beautiful artwork and a really cozy atmosphere. Definitely worth checking out! Oh, and they have a lot of gluten free options too!

I was not all that impressed with my experience here today. While I was thrilled to take my out-of-town guest to a place that had a gluten-free menu (a requirement for her), I felt that the prices were quite high for the amont of food we got. We had my 8 month old daughter with us and my sandwich had avocado on it, which I was breaking pieces off to give to her. We asked the waitress if we could have one slice of avocado on a plate for the baby...it took forever to get (ONE slice of avocado!)...and then she charges us a dollar for it. A DOLLAR. That made the whole avocado cost about 25 dollars.

Cute place, nice atmosphere. Food was good, not amazing, but good. I like looking at the art on the walls while dining. I've only had breakfast there, and I'm interested in trying their dinner menu. Would definitely recommend.

A wonderful, neighborhood place. Excellent food at reasonable prices. Friendly atmosphere inside a beautiful, old brick building downtown. Susan and Steve (the proprietors) know many of their customers by name. It's that kind of place.

I stopped in today to grab a sandwich to go. Most places sandwiches are just okay but this was probably one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. I had the Smoked Turkey and Bacon Panini. It was awesome. I will be stopping by here for lunch regularly!

Lavendar Tea! What a treat. I love this place. I love the atmosphere. The high tiled ceilings, the beautiful window letting in light above the front door, and the old store look at the front half of this building. The food is fantastic. The service has been just a tad on the slow side but nothing too off putting. A great place for you and a friend to share an intimate lunch.

I have been here several times now and every time it has been either delicious or phenomenal. I have always either ordered part or the whole special, and it has not disappointed yet. The watermelon gazpacho I just had with my Rosemary ham and brie sandwich was just the right amount of sweet and cool on a hot day. I have met the owner, who also comes up with the dishes served, and he is very polite. He will come out in the restaurant and help the waitresses and cooks when things get busy. I respect that. All of the staff are polite and happy to serve. Every time I have walked out with a happy stomach and a smile on my face.

This is a case of really really wanting to write a 5-star review! My boyfriend and I headed here for dinner last night because I was craving a good panini type sandwich but wanting something local rather than a chain place. I read the reviews and I was super excited to try it. We walked in and were greeted immediately by the cook. The atmosphere was cool - kind of coffee shop-ish, kind of art gallery-ish. I was definitely sold on the look when I saw the ceiling and skylight. The cook said that a hostess would be with us in a moment. She never came to seat us, instead the cook told us to go ahead and pick a table and she'd bring menus to us. No big deal. There were only 2 other tables when we got there so we weren't scavenging awkwardly to find a table. We ordered waters and then ordered the Stuffed Dates with Gorgonzola Cream. The description is better than the product itself but it wasn't bad. They come in an order of 5 dates which was plenty for 2 of us. The bacon was good and the cream sauce was also good. I'm not sure I'd called them "stuffed" though. Each date had half an almond. My boyfriend ordered the Sausage Duo. He cleaned his plate so it must've been good! I took a bite and there was a sweet note in either the potatoes or the mushroom gravy that I just couldn't quite figure out. I ordered the Tomato and Avocado Grilled Cheese. Since this is ultimately why we chose this place for dinner, I was excited! I was not disappointed. The bread was perfectly grilled, there was more than adequate tomato and avocado, the cheese was melty. I was a happy camper! I ordered the quinoa salad as my side. It was average but still good. I heard a microwave beep several times throughout our dining experience. I'm not exactly sure what they microwave so it didn't really bother me but it did make me wonder, how fresh is the hot food? Now to discuss the service...Once we chose our table the waitress took quite awhile to get our drink order. I had to ask what the soups were that day. There was no drink menu but I could see that our waitress and the other waitress were working on them. Maybe this is unique to me but I get really irritated when I have to ask for a drink menu. As a restaurant money is made by people ordering drinks so I shouldn't have to ask! Then our waitress was sort of m.i.a. for quite some time because she was busy chatting with the other waitress while they were filling what I assume were the drink menus. I'm all for having friends at work but when your TWO tables are being neglected as a result, that's a problem! Overall: The food is worth coming back for. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the place and can see why they do live music on the weekends. It definitely lends itself well to that! The service was irritatingly slow and the waitress seemed far more interested in mingling with her co-worker than tending to her tables. The cook was super friendly and probably would've been more attentive if we had sat at the bar. I'll definitely come back because I'll take local dining over chain dining any day but if you're going to compete with chain places, the service has to be on point!

This place looks deceiving small from the street, but it is actually very large inside - decorated with local art pieces and vibrant walls. Their homemade lavender lemonade is as GOOD as it sounds. If you are going here, you should totally get it. It is a delightful refreshing twist on standard lemonade. The food was amazing as well - I had the tomato avocado grilled cheese with an add on of turkey meat, with a side of couscous (which was inspiring in and of itself)!. My bf got the turkey melt, which he seemed to enjoy! The panini was so big I took half of it home and enjoyed it later that evening. Overall we had a really nice experience here - Sun Rose Cafe is great spot in Longmont for some delicious, affordable lunch. Its a nice alternative when you need a break from the breweries or restaurant style dining. The perfect little (but really big) cafe.

The interior is nice and old-town, service was prompt and very friendly. I had the Reuben with double meat and it was about the best damn Reuben I've ever had. Very lively, excellent components, well constructed, and the flavors just popped. Will definitely go back to try some more.

Great menu choices. I ordered lavender lemonade and it was a refreshing change to ordinary lemonade, I was pleasantly surprised. Had a panini and that was also excellent. My first time there and I will definitely be back and will recommend to others.

So the bad news, no more carrot cake!! The good news, the panna cotta is great..... Sweet caramel, firm texture, crunchy nuts and chocolate... Another good option is the blueberry cheesecake with whipped cream, berries and sauce. The crust on this is weak but the rest is good. Tip... Sit outside if there is a concert going on or sit inside if you want to drink alcohol. They do offer live music on Friday night inside.

The food here is great, I've never been disappointed. The building is beautiful with the old pressed tin ceiling, exposed brick wall, stained glass windows in the front up top and the art is always changing. The staff is friendly and efficient. Great little Longmont gem!

First stop upon our arrival from Los Angeles. Based oue decision to dine here solely on great yelp reviews. It did not disappoint. It was a big plus to arrive during happy hour. Ate solely from happy hour menu and it was delicious! BBQ quesadillas, hummus and avocado salad were a hit with adults and kids. City star beer was tasty and balanced our meal nicely. Great service, ambiance with lots of local art work. Cute, quaint, family oriented town.

Finally went here, and was blown away by how delicious everything was. We each had a cup of soup--my husband tried the wine/cheese soup which was perfect--delicate but rich and creamy at the same time. I had the Italian 3 bean soup and it also was really tasty. Then I had the Greek salad which was everything it should be--fresh greens, dappled with feta, olives, delicious tomatoes (where do they get them this time of year?), and dressed with a nicely balanced balsamic vinaigrette. My husband's crunchy corned beef/bacon sandwich was excellent as well. Service was just a tad slow, but the proprietor checked on us a few times, and the waitress was cheerful, knowledgeable, and so we didn't mind. Ambience was bright and cheery, open and airy. They now have wine/beer available, and they just passed their 1 year anniversary. Sun Rose Cafe is definitely a keeper!

The best thing about the Sun Rose Cafe is that they have a wide variety of vegetarian selections. I had the black bean burger - my first at a restaurant. However, my biggest complaint about most vegetarian dishes, this one included, is that they are so bland. Some hot peppers and spices would have made a good black bean burger great. However, I like the menu enough to come back and try something else. The atmosphere is relaxing and the staff was really friendly. This is a great small town restaurant that is a nice break from the ordinary.

Very good food, atmosphere kinda sketchy if that matters to you. Our server was very intense, did a great job just not what I would call warm. The prices were reasonable, the portions were decent. Not a bad little place for a quick lunch!

Oh, Sunrose, how I love thee! If you get the chance, definitely check it out. The food is excellent, and they are very responsive to dietary restrictions. The staff is wonderful, and they seriously serve the best coffee in Longmont. I swear I dream about their paninis at night!

My wife and I tried Sun Rose for the first time for a weekday lunch. The atmosphere is simplistic, quiet and unrushed. The reuben sandwich was good - nothing special and no wow factor - but good. The cucumbers in mint yogurt I believe would have been good had the cucumbers retained their crunchiness - they were clearly mixed into the sauce for too long and were quite soggy. The lavendar lemonade made a great Arnold Palmer. We decided to try the cafe because we knew they had a gluten-free menu. My wife had a roast beef sandwich on gluten-free flat bread and really enjoyed it. Our waitress even gave us the business card for the local Longmont bakery where we could find their gluten-free products. It was a bit pricey when the gluten-free sandwich was factored in ($12.95). (Why is everything that has less added to it always more expensive?) Other than that, we enjoyed the experience and the friendly staff. I'm not counting the days until I can return but I wouldn't hesitate to stop again either.

WONDERFUL little cafe. A great place for a cafe sandwich, Saturday breakfast, and buying some yummy treats. Kind of like the Cheese Importers in some ways, but a bit more grounded in downtown Longmont. Owners/Managers are delightful and remember you. Staff tries really hard, and while perhaps inexperienced, have always pulled-though for a good experience. Kind of place that you feel good about going to. Fresh and original takes on the usual cafe fair, served quickly but ultra-fresh and hand made. This is what Panera wants to be! My only complaints- no 'fancy' coffees (espresso, cappuccino, etc.) are served, they are closed on Sundays, and they lack a good sign to help you find them. NOTE TO OWNERS- please re-think your signage. A large, 'cafe' sign above your awning would be good. We have recommended people try Sun Rose and they drove/walked right buy it because they thought it was a store,

I love this place. I get my best thinking done here, it's cheery, comfortable and the staff is generally knowledgeable and kind. Also, they really support the local community- posting up local artists, etc. The food is scrumptious. My only problem is I feel like they don't know whether they want to be a fine dining restaurant or a cafe. Usually, I like to keep a low profile, grab my coffee and hide out for a few hours while I get my work done. However, they make a big show of bringing you your coffee, with sugar and cream, which then makes you feel like you need to leave a tip on top of the more expensive cup of joe- double what I normally pay. So, I don't go quite as often as I would if it was a little less expensive and extravagant. However, if you're looking for something with a little more class, some delicious food and the kindest waitstaff in town, don't miss this cafe! p.s. Signage could do WONDERS for this business. Owners, make this a priority- everyone should know where the Sun Rose is and I have a hard time finding it to this day!

Love the space this new(ish) local business has created. The giant glass ceiling makes the giant space seem warm and inviting. The service is friendly and the food delicious. The lavender lemonade is one of the most refreshing drinks I've ever had. The paninis and sandwiches are inventive and they have a great looking beer and wine list. The service can be a little slow and the sandwiches on the pricey side, but I'll definitely be going back soon.

My husband and I went to Sun Rose for dinner last night, and it was amazing. This is a little gem in Longmont. I had a grilled chicken salad that was wonderful and savory. My husband had the wild boar and chicken sausage with pesto pasta, and it was delicious. The ambiance is great, and the service is excellent. And, don't forget to try the carrot cake; it's the best carrot cake that we had ever had. We will definitely be back!

Great little cafe in Longmont. Large, bright, open space lends itself to chatting over a nice gourmet sandwich. Definitely try the lavender infused lemonade. It is a little pricey - expect some sticker shock when the bill comes. But all in all a nice treat.
