Although I do prefer that they used to serve more game items on their menu, Praha is a local gem. The location is great, the atmosphere very relaxing and the food has always been wonderful. This is not a quick dinner experience though; you should expect to spend at least 2-3 hours. A bit pricey but has proven reliable for taking out of town guests for a nice dinner experience.

I rarely give 5 stars, but this place almost got it. The food is delicious. If you want to taste authentic homemade Czech food then come to Praha. It was perfect. Excellent service, a great vibe run by family that owns it. I highly recommend it. It would be nice if they had a few more czech beers to offer tho...if they did, then the 5 star rating may have been dished out.

Beautiful dinner! This is a Czech restaurant with traditional food.

As a person of Czech heritage who has eaten in Czech restaurants in New York and Prague, I can say that the food here was both authentic and delicious. I highly recommend the roasted duck or sausage platter. It's essential to get a dish with bread dumplings as they are a Czech specialty and ideal for sopping up delicious sauces. Wash it down with a staropramen on draft and save room for the terrific dessert tray. If you're looking for delicious authentic Czech food - this is the place.

I loved the atmosphere of this little establishment. The hostess was warm, friendly and professional. BUT, I wasn't impressed with the food. I was in one of those moods where what I really wanted was a perfectly cooked Filet Mignon. I am equally comfortable with a tofu, fish or salad entre, but this night, a night that I explicitly decided on 'The Praha Restaurant' was a night that I wanted my mind quietly enamored with the wonderful taste of a nicely seasoned, perfectly cooked steak - preferably a filet mignon. To save the adjectives, it wasn't great. I felt that I would have been better served if I had gone to King Soopers, bought a nice cut of meat, thrown some pepper on it and cooked it on my gas grill. I think I will go back one more time as I have heard wonderful things about the restaurant and there are nights where the cook is off. I was reviewing their menu just now and the pepper steak as well as the Citrus Halibut look wonderful. I'm a bit adventurous and I love the restaurant's location (out in the country) and the history behind the restaurant. This is a case where I really want the restaurant to deliver and willing to give a second chance.

Tasty German/Austrian style vittles. If you're reading this, you'll probably be the youngest patron in the house. Decor is classic. We had the Spaetzel, truffle fries, Schnitzel...and something else. A nice change of pace, and relaxed atmosphere.

Four of us went to Praha last night. The waitress was super nice and friendly. We had a nice table set off from a lot of other people but then there were not many people in this place. We got there at 5:30 for happy hour and wine was $4 for a full glass, no half glasses here. Other better wines were $5 for the whole evening. We were brought a basket of bread, warm but tiny pieces and not many for 4 people plus if we had wanted more bread it said an extra bread basket was $4 so we didn't ask for more bread. We ordered 3 appetizers: truffle fries but couldn't taste much truffle on them, 4 shrimps (good but nothing special) and Cheese spaetzle with bacon and some other things in, not much but was good. We had wanted to order the Camembert wheel but they were out. I ordered the Hungarian Goulash $16 and a Gorg salad $5, the salad wasn't anything to write home about and was not much. One of our party had soup and think it was asparagus pea soup and he seemed to like it. Two people in our party had Sauerbraten (something like $27). They seemed to like it but not anything special. One had RAHMSCHNITZEL which looked very good and she said was very good. I wish I'd ordered it because my Hungarian Goulash was interesting but not so great as I thought it might be, tasted like too much Paprika to me and a bit salty. We ordered a strudel that came with whipped cream and a chocolate rum ball also with whipped cream. These were pretty good but I didn't really taste the rum in the rum ball and for me strudel is more for breakfast or brunch. I had wanted to order the white cake with strawberry but our party just ordered the other two so I never got to try any of the cakes. I might go back, service was good, but it was expensive, about $200 for 4 people with several glasses of wine each, probably won't be my first place to go when I think of eating out though. I wish some of the dishes would have been super good making me want to go back for more but they just weren't.

Foursome agreed to meet here although no one lives near Longmont but were looking for something European. What follows is a description of the world divided by perception and reality. Perception of what schnitzel is - I think veal; Praha thinks pork - tho reality was different from perception, the schnitzel was excellent. Sauerbraten was above average; pork medallions, fine. The only complaint was what looked like Hungarian goulash. Looked good but the meat was somewhat fatty. Our professional waitress brought another dish and we got some excellent desserts gratis. Not sure if the fault was in the goulash or the way the diner handled her complaint. Decor is European, menu looked European, and our wait person was one of the nicest, most professional I've ever met. My Wienerschnitzel was delicious and bountiful enough to share with the three others.

This is one of the best restaurants in the Boulder-Longmont area for fine dining. The atmosphere is cozy, the staff is very well trained and the food is excellent. They also have a bistro menu for the budget minded. Either way you can't go wrong. The wienerschnitzel is fantastic, as is the filet, the duck and the sauerbraten. The soups are to die for regardless of the type. This is the place to come if you want to have a wonderful meal in a quiet, romantic setting. It's not a quick meal as one other yelper commented but it's not meant to be. You can't go wrong with this place.

I had dinner here on New Year's Eve 2011 and it was one of the finer evenings I've had in a long time. The wait staff were sincerely warm, friendly, and courteous. The food (sole for my partner, pork roast "Gustav Klimt" for myself) was excellent and portions were ample. When we had finished and were sipping the last of our champagne, the chef came out, thanked us for coming, and wished us a Happy New Year. And, indeed, the year started off well.

Was super excited to try this charming, family owned and operated establishment. It's very pleasant and charming inside. The atmosphere reminded me of my grandparents' cozy home, and is somewhere I could picture returning to for happy hour. Wanted to be wowed by the food- with hearty menu items such as goulash, spaetzle, and truffle frites. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The salad was a meager, underdressed (I'm not big on dressings either), spaetzle dry, and fries-not only lacking the decadent flavors boasted on the menu, but also clearly frozen and not fresh-cut. At $9.99 an order, I was picturing a real potato- not the reconstituted type you'd expect from Denny's. The redeeming aspects that will bring me back are: happy hour, Czech Pilsner, polite service, and the family's clear dedication to the establishment. Maybe my boyfriend and I got an off night- because they seem to had a loyal following.

One of the best restaurants in the entire Boulder/Longmont area. The food is amazing, the atmosphere very relaxed and enjoyable, the service top notch and the prices are also very reasonable. We had a party of six and everyone agreed it was one of the best restaurant experiences we have had in a long while. We will definitely be returning.

We have been enjoying Praha for years! We enjoy the staff, and the atmosphere is very cozy and comfortable. Chef Monika is an amazing chef! Such talent! Her soups are so delicious whatever the vegetable she chooses!! I've tried many different dishes on the menu, and I do have my favorites! I love the filet...always tender and cooked to perfection! I've never had a better tasting red cabbage EVER!! The desserts are to die for! The wine list is wonderful as well! There really isn't any great fine dining in the Longmont area except for Praha! You won't be dissapointed! Cheers!

We went to Praha on a Friday night around 8:00 We were VERY rudely told, after standing there for 15 minutes, that the restaurant closes at 8:00 pm. Don't even bother wasting your time with a place that obviously cares so little about customers and is quite comfortable turning them away. We won't be back.

We ate here with friends for the second time on June 4th, the occasion being our 8th anniversary. On our first trip here in January, I had the Poulet au Citron, and absolutely loved it. This time, I had the Gorgonzola and Leek Encrusted Tenderloin, and again, absolutely loved it. Between the two trips, the four of us have worked through a considerable portion of the menu and we've never been disappointed. The other couple have spent time in Europe, Dave lived in Germany for a while when he was in the Army, and they are hearty fans of Praha. Service is good, but it will never be fast as everything is made from scratch to order. This is a place where you're going to spend some time over dinner, and really, I think that is as it should be. Take your time, enjoy it. The bread is fresh and hot, served with real butter. The butter may or may not be soft. The soups, thus far, haven't been to my liking, but that's my personal taste. Their salads are pretty good, but that's not really the highlight of the restaurant. The food here is great, but it's not fast and it's not cheap. You're paying for good service and great food, and that takes time. Dessert is also a great thing here. Most of them are made in the kitchen and they have not yet disappointed. I've had the chocolate rum ball twice, great way to get your chocolate on. The desserts are also seasonal, which makes them, like the rest of the menu, somewhat variable. I can't agree at all with DD's or Stephanie's reviews. This is not fast food, you're going to wait for your dinner. We've felt the portions were sized just right, and we're big eaters. Maybe you would be happier at Applebee's or Olive Garden, but I'll definitely go to Praha for special occasions when I'm in town.

I'm a local, and this is MY restaurant and where I want to take my loved ones to celebrate, as much and as often as I can. The food, wine, and warm, homey atmosphere in an old school, really stick with you after you leave. AHHHH! This is one of the few, premiere restaurants in a country setting, that still survives, with hay fields all along the way, and well worth the drive, Besides getting a European trained chef, and dedicated staff, you'll find hand-crafted recipes, with specially selected wines to accompany whatever you order. There's not a single dish that I wouldn't savor and recommend highly to you. The bar is small and intimate, Try a draft Staropramen or a bottle of Czechvar. The sisters Monica and Judy, with mother and her home-made apple strudel, and others, make this place special. Like horses? Judy is also the director of the Colorado Horse Rescue. Talk about delicious, don't let this one pass you by! The beer garten is coming soon!

The atmosphere is nice and thank goodness since we had to wait 40 mins to get our food - and we were the second table in the place! The wait staff is very well trained and something you would expect at a 4 star restaurant - however, the mother of the chef is so stern she makes things extremely uncomfortable. I felt like she was watching over every move. Paper over hanging the table and she was folding it. Your server wasn't allowed to deal with the check - she would. I felt like the portions were stingy. While waiting the 40 mins - we did get a dinner roll. ONE each! If I made someone wait 40 mins - I would be offering more than that. My husband ordered the two braut special. Which mentioned a roll and kraut - we were shocked when the server returned to see which he wanted the roll or kraut. He then got two 2 inch brauts cut into a beautiful pattern with homemade mustard (very good) and a few tbsp. of kraut. Definitely not enough for my hubby and he isn't a big eater. Mine dish was good though - it was they spaetzle and enough for me (not a big eater). This place could really be a REAL gem - IF... 1) either offer tasters, so the long wait isn't so obvious 2) more generous with the food (it really is good), 3) gave a drink or two to the staff before service!

If you like European food (especially Prague/Czech) this place rules. Amazing bistro European and traditional dishes. I had the RAHMSCHNITZEL - Thinly-sliced pork sauteed and topped with fresh mushrooms and a delicate Noilly Prat sauce. Served with spätzle and seasonal vegetables. It was exquisite. My date had the Czech meatball soup before her Chicken in a lemon balsamic reduction with polenta and vegis, also delicious.

The food was great but severely overpriced. The portions were way too small for the price and it took a long time to get to the table. (We only got 1 piece of bread each during that time too.) The atmosphere and decor were a little kitschy and the service was lukewarm at best. Expect to shell out a lot for the meal here.
