Located on Hyw 6 just west of Hwy 139 in Loma. The building is the WS cattlemans auction place, the restaurant is on the left side of the building. The restaurant is very pleasant with county theme(of course), the ligthing is not to bright or dim, the music is just in the background, just right. It has a full bar with 12 of so bar stools. Our servers were very pleasant and helpful but did not get in the way. The menu was western style food, burgers, steaks and such, all home cooked fresh and hot! I had the burger with chillies, it was great, best burger in the Valley, beat Red Robbin. The better half had chicken fried steak, outstanding with homemade potatoes. The bottom line is the beer was cold, food was hot and fresh and the service and servers were great. Ya gotta go.

This is the best place hands down! We come out here from California and I ALWAYS stop here to eat. I was a vegetarian for 8 years, and let's just say their meat made me change my mind!!! So yummy!!!

We went for Sunday brunch with the family. I ordered chicken fried chicken and the chicken wasn't cooked through all the way. It was RAW! We were for warned by the server prior to the meal coming that the cooks were new. Not only was my meal botched but everyone else's meals were luke warm. Disappointing experience overall! You'd think even new cooks could at least cook chicken to temperature and give tables hot food...

What can I say that others haven't said better? Woohoo! As good as it gets! Never expected to find such a fun and tasty restaurant in this location. The interior is very pleasant and not overcrowded by tables. You can eat and still enjoy a conversation. We were there at breakfast and it was wonderful. When our waitress came out with our food - we were sure we couldn't eat it all, but somehow we managed. I had the prime rib and eggs. Very good, the rib was well done (I can happily enjoy beef well done to really rare, but some people will not like the well done rib). The meat was tender and well seasoned. I had scrambled eggs which were a little more omelet like than scrambled. But still good. I ordered a side of chopped green chile - which was amazing. It was fresh roasted - not out of a can or the freezer. Nice taste and nice heat. It added the perfect zing to my meal. My husband had the carne asada with over-medium eggs, refried beans and hash browns. His meal was absolutely perfect (with my green chile added). The meat was super flavorful, tender and amazingly generous. That will be my order next time! I am looking forward to lunch, brunch and dinner here at our next visits. So far, this is one of my favorite places in the Grand Junction area!

Map was a little off. It's on 50 and 12 1/2 rd at the Livestock Auction. Food was good and pie even better. Great fresh brewed iced tea and homemade ranch dressing.

Sorry, it was a 5 star but anymore I give it a 1 star servers are energetic but the kitchen has constant turnover and there's no sign of the owner on a Friday night

Weirdest location ever but the food, service and coffee were great. I had the Stayhorn benedict with the pulled pork (available Sundays only), an odd flavor combination but really good. Looks like it would be a great place for a steak dinner.

I had the highly touted prime ribs and eggs but wasn't that impressed. It was more like a breakfast steak; we gave it a 4/10. The corned beef and hash that my bf had though was good. For sure a 9/10. Staff was friendly, courteous, and checked in often!

This was one of our favorite places to eat, but just recently we went out for a nice family dinner and realized they were training a new cook. Our 20$+ steaks came out cold and when we finally flagged down our waitress, who was pretty much absent the whole time, she took them back to the kitchen only to come out luke warm this time! Being that we are return customers, you'd expect more than "we're training a new cook!" 125 dollar meal......disappointment!!!

Love that our Grand Junction friend took us here. Very fresh/delicious meat. I'm not even a big meat person, but I like this meat. The prices are very reasonable as well. I have yet to try the pie (shocker! I know), but everything we have had has been very delicious. I even tried to be good the last time I was there and got a salad with steak on it and it was such a good salad (or was I just hungry?), but either way, it settled nicely in my tummy. The wait staff is very friendly there, and I love the family feel of it.

Very good restaurant, a locals hide away with awesome food. I've been there twice, once for lunch (steak sandwich -- delicious), once for dinner (ribeye -- YUM). The food was always excellent, the service during dinner was a bit slow, but it was a Friday night and they were busy. It can get a bit noisy on the busy nights, but the food makes up for any misdoings.

I came in on a Sunday for lunch. I ordered the corn beef rueban. The meat on it was excellent and so was the bread. I had a side salad for my side. I want to come back to try some more of their menu.

This place is quite the hidden treasure, but it is sooo worth the drive! Only open for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights, breakfast and lunch 7 days a week. The atmosphere is upscale western, you can dress casual or dress up a little too. They have a GREAT selection of steaks that range from $16-25+. I recently had their special, which was a $16 Flatiron steak and it was better than any filet or ribeye I can remember having!!! They also have a great Country Fried Steak, their hamburger is delicious also. We basically count the days until Friday night and find excuses to go! Ask for Toby, she is the BEST!!!

What a find.....only restaurant in Loma, and what a place it is. The food was delicious, the staff efficient and super-friendly, and the venue, well, interesting! There aren't too many places in the world where you can enjoy a yummy bowl of cheesy grits with andouille sausage, then step into the lobby to learn about artificial insemination of cows. LOVE IT. We will definitely be back when our travels take us that far west on I-70.

There is no sign, so just drive through the huge dirt parking lot of the Cattleman's Association building and the door is towards the left. I visited after reading the other positive Yelp reviews. It's wonderful! I had the chicken fried steak and it was excellent. The beef was flavorful and tender and the breading and gravy were perfect. The mashed potatoes were made from Yukon Golds and were also very tasty. After seeing some huge open face prime rib sandwiches go by I knew I'd have to come back to try one out. The entire staff is friendly and professional, the restaurant and bathrooms are immaculate, and if you time your visit right, you get to attend a livestock auction after your meal. If you want a truly authentic cowboy food experience, this is it.

We stopped here for dinner on our way to Grand Junction after reading Yelp reviews. Great food. Friendly atmosphere. Amazing peach pie. Liked it so much we stopped again for lunch coming back from Aspen. A local's place. Gives you a feel of what ranching lifestyle is like. And food is great. Highly recommend stopping in here!!

LOVE this place. Great food, great service, and a unique setting. If you want beef as good as it gets, near the source of the food, come here. You can't beat this place's prime rib and chicken fried steak. And the pie is to die for, if you have room. Really delicious food, large portions, friendly service and beautiful authentic Western decor, right next to the sale barn.

The best prime rib I have had in the valley! Very down to earth atmosphere. We frequently take our company out there to dinner and always recommend it to our friends asking where to have a good steak. The breakfast is also excellent!

What a great surprise. About a mile west of the intersection of Hwy 6 & 50 and Colorado 139 is the Strayhorn Grill. The grill is in the Western Colorado Cattleman's Sale Barn so you can imagine the outstanding western decor. The food is excellent. My wife and I were there for the Sunday brunch. This was the first Sunday brunch they had done so service was just a little slow but not a problem. My wife said the omelet she had was "the best". I had the Stockman, a huge slice of prime rib, eggs, hash browns, toast. The portions were very generous and delicious. Take a drive to "cowboy country" and enjoy a great meal, wonderful service, and very reasonable prices.
