This place is really an ugly hole-in-the-wall and not a place to stay to eat. But if you're willing to carry out or cater, their BBQ is wonderful. I had to satisfy a large group of hungry Texans, and they raved about the chicken and the sausage that I selected as part of the meal. They have a couple of options for their BBQ sauces that I appreciate. I like the baked beans a lot - nice, smoky flavor. The cole slaw is average or a little below average but I always order it anyway! Definitely a place to consider catering. They balk at delivering the catering, as they're a smaller operation and have issues with leaving the joint. The catering portions are generous, but we always run out anyway! So don't stay for the ambiance, but definitely bring home some great food with very reasonable pricing!

From the second you walk in, the sweet, smokey aroma lets you know this is going to be a great day. We've had them cater my dad's 60th and often for lunch and diner. The prices are very reasonable for the portions you get, and the quality is incredible! If you like smokey, spicey, Kansas City style deliciousness you have to go to Brickyard!!

This place is AMAZING! Great mom and pop place that serves some of Colorado's finest BBQ based foods. The ribs were fantastic but their BBQ chicken sandwich was fantastic! Definitely the place to go if you're craving some BBQ.

Since moving to Colorado, I haven't been able to find any decent BBQ. It just doesn't exist! Yes, I was spoiled growing up on Memphis Pit, but surely there HAS to be somewhere in Colorado that can make decent BBQ, right?!? I think Brickyard fits the bill perfectly! Here's my total impression from start to finish. It's in a run down shopping center on County Line, I cringed, but the smell of smoke in the air compelled me to go inside despite the fear of how many ways this could turn bad. Inside, it's very basic. You order at the counter, you fill your own styrofoam drink cup, you find your own seat. It's VERY BASIC. Inside all the tables seat 4 people tops, so we had to push two tables together by ourselves to accommodate the 8 of us. The onion rings we ordered were PERFECT! Crisp, not over battered, not dripping grease, absolutely perfect! I always want good onion rings, but find them oddly hard to actually find. So that was my first surprise. I ordered the Half slab of ribs with a side of coleslaw to share with my husband. The ribs were delicious, I ended up eating 4 of the 5 spare ribs and sending him back to order his own meal! Ha! You have to keep in mind though that this is basic BBQ and not fancy pantsy froo froo frilly look pretty BBQ. No, they aren't smothered in a rub, they aren't plated up all beautiful with garnishes, but they are cooked slow and gently and are fall off the bone perfect! This is BBQ at it's basic best! I mixed half spicy sauce and half regular and was pleasantly surprised by the heat and flavor from a bottle sauce. Usually, a bottled BBQ sauce in a squirt bottle would send me running in fear, but their sauce is actually pretty good! Now here's what really wowed me....the cole slaw! It actually has a tangy vinegar dressing on the slaw that makes it really sing on the tongue! I love love LOVE cole slaw, but often find restaurant versions too often to be bland and too creamy, but not so with Brickyard's! It gets a 9 out of 10 on the perfect cole slaw scale! Overall, the atmosphere lacks a bit, but if you can put your upscale expectations away and kick it old school bbq style, you'll find Brickyard BBQ delivers with great food at decent prices! A hidden gem on Countyline Rd! We'll definitely be coming back again for that delicious BBQ! And if you want a prettier atmosphere, order it to go! :-) it's worth the try.

I love this place. It is just a little strip mall place. No booze, but great BBQ, slaw and beans. You can't go wrong with their bbq. And they seem like nice people.

The portion is incredible! I ate it around noon and I was still stuffed at 10pm. :) A lot of people talked about their fries. I have to say...it's the best fries that I haven't tasted for quite a while.... The fries are thick cut and freshly fried. When it comes to the meat, I have to say that my favourite is the links...the crispy casing and soft filling complemented by the spiciness...it sort of remind me the spicy sausage that I had in Little Italy in New York. The rib and the brisket are alright. I like to see a little bit more moist for both. The chicken is probably the weakness item of all. Not that it tasted bad, but w/o the heavy saucing, the meat-taste is very obvious when you take a big bite. But here's thing, I haven't found anything "spectacular." I mean when you go to Sawgrass barbecue (Austin), Rudy's or Jim's (Memphis). They all have a "niche." Sawgrass is it's special blend of dri-rub; Rudy's has its special sauce and the different moist level; Jim's has the mid-south style sauce. Hopefully, the chef @ Brickyard can figure something to stand out. I'll be back for the all-you-eat-ribs next week.... :)

The best bbq I've come across in Denver! Highly recommend their beef burnt ends, steak fries, potato salad & cole slaw!

  • Rob R.

They Care if You Like the Food Wonderful meats, great sauces--and the sides! The best steak fries I've head, wonderful potato salad, and the best baked beans imaginable--which, if you are wise, you will eat with the french fries! They have such wonderful sausage, too, great pork and beef brisket. The Dining Room is welcome and comfortable, with KC Jazz playing. You feel welcome, they're very eager to help you enjoy your meal, they're great for take-out--our barbecue go-to.

I had the beef brisket, baked beans, and fries. Everything was super yummy. I also tried some of the hot links which were tasty. The brisket is really good and the bbq sauce is amazing. The sweet potato fries have sugar sprinkles on top but the guy was kind enough to make us another batch without added sugar. Overall an awesome bbq place and not too pricey

  • Tif D.

Good ribs, all the other meats were very disappointing. Steamed hot link...what? Tried something called "burnt ends" or something like that, well they were tasty; however, these little pieces of charred deliciousness used to be on the brisket and the pork- which is why both of those probably sucked. Great fries, really; steak fries perfectly crispy throughout. Average cole slaw & BBQ sauce. No fried okra. If I go back, I'll get the ribs and try the baked beans. I really dislike the big plastic bottles of practically rotten BBQ sauce; I see the bubbles and it's quite unappetizing. Just give people warm, fresh BBQ sauce in a ramekin with the order.

  • Paul L.

The brisket is amazing. The spicy BBQ sauce has a decent kick though I would like a title more. The only bad thing in my opinion is that they do not have any rolls for the sandwiches, just a thick bread. I prefer a roll or bun because the sauce doesn't make them as soggy as just bread. Can't say enough good things about the meats tho. Easy choice for a good BBQ lunch/dinner.

It was just ok. Had high hopes based on other reviews. I ordered the combination platter, with brisket, pork, and chicken with a side of fries for a late lunch. The fries were the best part of the experience, with the meat being a bit dry. Flavor wasn't very strong in either the meat seasoning or the sauces. Portion size was good. Staff was very friendly and courteous, decor and cleanliness were good. I really wanted to like the food more, but was just underwhelmed.

Great Kansas style BBQ. Burnt ends and beans are delicious. Beef brisket sandwich is great too. The owner is very friendly and service is spectacular.

Best BBQ in Denver. Can't go wrong here. I like to smoke my own BBQ but sometimes I don't have time or am lazy, 100% best in Denver probably in the entire state. They have burnt ends which are few and far between at other restaurants.

  • Eric B.

Went in late for lunch and the service was very good! The manager was very polite and hospitible. Food was not my favorite. The meat was done right, I just did not care for the sauce that they use. Burnt ends were very good, again, I didnt care for the sauce, but the Service was amazing, and thats the only reason they get 4 stars.

good bbq although sometimes the brisket is not that great. great fries and the sauce is awesome! Burnt ends are always a treat and the hot links are great. good prices too!

This humble BBQ operation keeps costs down and serves pretty darn good BBQ and fixins at a fair price. For me they do the best job on their whole pork ribs (yummy Three Rib Plate!!), burnt ends and baked beans. In fact all the side items are really good and you get a generous portion that is large enough to split so when my wife and I go together we usually mix things up and share. Smoke, smoke, smoke... Love my BBQ cooked low & slow over hardwood, but for my taste, Brickyard goes to far (minus one star). Ribs and brisket can hold up to heavy smoke but chicken loses its flavor and gets overwhelmed by too much smoke. BBQ is a regional thing and I find you usually like whatever style you were raised on. Nevertheless, I wish Brickyard would use more dry rub and less smoke so you could taste the meat's natural flavor, especially with their chicken. Brickyard will serve all their meats plain upon request with sauce on the side. They offer just two well done sauce options, both made in house, original or spicy. Both are outstanding and I usually mix a little of each so it doesn't get too spicy.

Popped in for lunch... oh yea. A good little selection of lunch specials that include the food, a side and a drink. Very filling and very good meat with some sauces available. It was so good, I ate another half order of the Burnt Ends. From now on, that's the Go To meal. Burnt Ends. Do it.

If I had to pick a place in the area from the options there are this would be it every time. It wasn't the greatest BBQ I've ever had (my pulled pork was a little dry) the first day but my left overs were tasty. I am sure we will go back in. The restaurant interior is a little stark, I guess you could say in a manly sort of way. When we were in there was hardly anyone else there the entire time and I'm not really sure why...

Best BBQ for miles around. Brisket and hot links!

    (4)
  • Ben C.

The BBQ, corn and onion rings were all excellent. One thing I would have liked better is to have the sandwiches served on a fresh roll or something that resists moisture. My refined white bread BBQ sandwich felt a bit like an afterthought and was soggy on the bottom. My review would have garnered a five star had the bread been a bit more appetizing.

I have traveled the entire US and have visited some of the best BBQ joints...this would be one of the best. The ribs are outstanding and Monday and Tuesday nights...all you can eat!

Best BBQ I've had in Denver. Could do better on the sauce though.

  • Adam S.

I thought this place was generally quite good. I had the beef burnt ends with the sweet corn as my side. The ends had a good flavor to them. Maybe not as tender as I prefer, but they tasted right. The corn was good. I also had a couple bites of the sausage sandwich which was quite flavorful. The sauces were just ok for me, and I was a little disappointed that they didn't have a mustard sauce, but what can you do. I also found it a bit unusual that they serve the ends sauced here. I'm not used to that. I think I would have preferred to have them unsauced. Big plus for offering koolaid as a drink. I think this is probably the best BBQ I have found in the Denver area so far, but the search continues...

  • Chris H.

OK, I have to admit that I am a BBQ snob. I have a certain type of sauce that I like which tends towards a sweeter sauce. I had the pork sandwich here and the meat was very very good. Nice smokey flavor. If the sauce had been a sweet sauce I would have given it 5 stars. The sides were also good to very good. I tried the cole slaw which was a combo vinegar and mayo based (which I find to be rare) and it was very good slaw. The baked beans were very good with a little bit of a smokey flavor.

After reading the other Yelp reviews, I thought this place was going to be my new favorite BBQ place. I went for the ribs and when I got them I was surprised that they were the giant pork ribs and not the baby back. Not a huge deal, but the quality of the ribs were. They definitely were not falling off the bone, in fact I could only eat maybe a 1/3 of the ribs b/c it was so tough to chew. Usually I would fix this situation with some extra BBQ sauce, but I ordered to go and they didn't give any extra and the ribs themselves didn't have all that much. On a positive note, the sides were actually pretty good. I had the beans, coleslaw and potato salad. The place also smelled awesome and I could tell the ribs were well smoked (just not melting in your mouth). I will probably give it another shot for the brisket, but next time I want ribs I'm going up the street to Rib City.

I don't know what regional style 'q it is/ is supposed to be and/or if it's authentic, but all I know is when I'm was craving barbeque , I leave this place with a happy face and belly. Beef Burnt Ends - As good as it gets! Charred and crispy little nubbins atop a generous pile of smokey succulent pulled meatiness. Hot links - AMAZING! Not very spicy, but lean, smokey and delicious. It was a mere $1.50 to add one to my Burnt Ends platter. Not as large nor as good as Hickory House's (my fave), but close. Brisket - Not sliced like you often get, but shredded/pulled in appearance. The amazing smokey flavor was complemented perfectly by the vinegary house BBQ sauce on the table. Baked beans - I am not usually a fan of American baked beans but theirs are killer. The beans are tender, and the sauce is rich and unbelievably smokey. The serving is enough for two people to share. Steak fries - Yeah, they're from a bag, but they are cooked perfectly. Again, the serving is ample for two people. Apart from the not so great decor/ambience, I just don't know how it gets any better!

This use to be our go to place for BBQ. Not sure what happened (maybe a new cook?) but it sucks. The brisket was dry and same with the pork. The only thing good is their fries and baked beans. If you are looking for some good BBQ, this isnt the place.

  • Tim L.

Delicious, smoke-infused meats. Generous portions- get the rib plate. The burnt ends are a treat. Other places burnt ends are little blacked knobs of toughness. Not here. I'm definitely going to get them next time. Get the beans- they use the burnt ends from the ribs or some of the other scraps of meat in them. Quality and quantity of the food is so good, and their prices are very fair compared to other bbq places. Please check the photo below to see how much of the delicious sides they are going to deliver to you with the rib plate. I love Jabo's meat for its rich smokiness, but the sides at Brickyard are executed better across the board. If you're in the neighborhood- give this place a try. They do sell the various meats to go. If you don't go for lunch and don't want to pack the family up to drive there, do yourself a favor and get some, get some!

  • Jim C.

They had smoky ribs, good flavor, the meat falls off bone, their different sauces were all very good. Don't bother with the burnt end, too dry. Baked bean was ok, nothing to write home about. The coleslaw was missing a lot everything. Just go for the ribs, and you'll be just fine.

    (3)
  • Sean P.

I thought that this place was overall pretty good. The sauces needed a little bit more in my opinion but overall a decent place. My co-workers had the burnt ends which they sain, like others have, that they were a little dry. I had the coleslaw and the baked beans and they were bland in a word.

    (3)
  • Sarah S.

This was really great BBQ! I got a lunch special - Chicken Sandwich w/ Fries and really enjoyed it. The sandwich was made with home made bread and the chicken was very tender and there was just the right amount of sauce on it - not too much / not too little. The sauce was very good too. I would definitely recommend it.

Best BBQ I've had in Colorado, hands down. I absolutely love the smoked ribs, with some of their spicy table sauce. And the hot links, outstanding. I live a mile from here, and can usually smell the meat smoking in the air. This place is great.

  • Jefferson H.

Really, really good food. Consistent and delicious. Yes, it's pricey, but that's BBQ! The beans and burnt ends are delicious. Excellent brisket, and you can have all the sauce you need to dress up your meal. Hmm BBQ!!

My company had a video shoot at a nearby studio and I needed to cater for a group of 9 or so peeps. I yelped this place and read over the reviews...sounded good--figured I'd give it a try but admittedly, I'm not a big fan of bbq and didn't have that high of expectations. Well, I was very impressed. A lot of food comes in their party packages and it is very good--not doused with sauce in advance. We got chicken and beef brisket and both were delicious, moist and smoky. The beans in particular were a big hit as a side--I heard several comments about them. My husband said (and he is NOT a bean fan normally), "We need to have another video shoot soon, just so I can get some more of those beans". Great job, Brickyard BBQ!

Mmm, delicious and affordable BBQ. How can you go wrong with that? This is a very casual, very mom-and-pop feel BBQ joint that has a relatively limited menu, but very low prices. My father and I ate there for around $15. I'm giving them a 5 rather than a 4 simply because the quality-to-price ratio is extremely good. They're actually less than Brothers' BBQ (which I also still like) and about as good. Note that they're probably not as close as Brothers' for most people I can definitely see myself going here after work when I'm hungry but simply don't feel like preparing food. I only ate there once (this afternoon, actually) but I'll definitely be back.

Brickyard BBQ is a taste of home. I am from Kansas City and LOVE bbq! Brickyard looked and smelled like the KC BBQ joint. I ordered the Burnt Ends. They were perfect! A mix of LC's and Bryants. Imagine LC's tender, juicy nuggets with a chewy crust mixed up with the sauce, ala Bryants. Their Burnt Ends are WAY better than Oklahoma Joe's in KC. Their regular sauce was also perfect. Typical KC style sauce. Tangy, slightly sweet, slightly spicy. Kind of a tangier version of Gates sauce. I loved their steak fries, too. Perfect for dipping in the sauce. I also had a few ribs. Their ribs are what we call 'sticky ribs'. Smoked forever in a rub and then sauced over the smoke at the end. Sticky, smokey and tender. Since I live in Longmont, visits will be hard, but still, its worth the drive. And since I do live in Longmont, I will still go to Brickyard before I go to that other 'KC BBQ' restaraunt in Longmont/Boulder that is overpriced and their sauce lacks flavor.

  • Chris R.

Great Kansas City BBQ in Denver. Loved the burnt ends. The sauces were similar to Gates...not real spicy and heavy on cumin, but they were excellent. The only negative would be slow service. We came during the peak lunch rush and waited quite a while for our food. But it was worth it.

  • J W.

Best BBQ restaurant I've ever been to. (Based 100% on food.) The dining room isn't much, but it's clean and there's extra sauce on the red and white checkered clothed tables and rolls of paper towel to handle all the drips. The walls are painted red and local teens and families have written all over them in Sharpie. I usually get a pulled pork sandwich. It's just served on white bread, but the pork is fantastic. Smoky and moist. Love the sauce. At around five bucks it's a great deal. The fries are big (steak cut), freshly fried and some of the best I've had. One regular order will easily feed two. Sides are solid, but nothing to write home about. Both take out and eat-in food quality is spot on. Just know that if you eat in, you'll smell like camp fire for the rest of the day, making those around you insanely jealous of the fantastic BBQ meal you've had.

  • Jon R.

Yelp FAILED! After reading reviews I decided to check out this place and I left highly disappointed. The ribs were just ok (nothing to brag about), sauce was runny, baked beans were from a can, and the potato salad was purchased from Walmart. I must admit I sometimes take shortcuts for my potato salad and theirs tasted just like the ones at Walmart.

    (3)
  • Daniel B.

This was surprisingly good. It is a good option for a quick lunch. I hade the brisket sandwich.

    (4)

Good BBQ, they do a good job on all their offerings, I usually get the chopped pork. Good value. They are not open Sundays.

    (4)
  • James V.

The ribs and burnt ends were terrible( one star). Very dry and tough and little flavor. I've had burnt ends that were 10X better at kitchen table cafe. The worker acted like that is how burnt ends are suppose to be like. They need to take take a trip to kitchen table cafe and they will get an awakening. Their BBQ sauce is average. I would go back for their brisket and their beans(4 stars). Its so hard to find good "consistent" BBQ in the Denver metro area. I would go to Wayne's smokehouse all the time if I could but its a 45 minute drive to Superior,CO. Next closest place would probably be kitchen table cafe.

    (2)
  • Tim S.

Some of the better brisket and pork I have had in Denver. Meats were moist and smokey. Lun h special for $6.95 seems a pretty good deal. My only complaint was that sauces seem to have too much tomato paste. Service was relaxed and friendly

  • Terry K.

Pretty damn good BBQ. My wife and I tried the brisket, pulled pork, links and ribs and they were all good. However, the ribs were the best of all the meats we sampled. They have a menu selection called "Burnt Ends", which is interesting. It's the "bark" from the pulled pork or brisket sold by itself. Give them a try if you go in. Brickyards french fries are some of the best I've had in a long time. Their BBQ sauce is average and served on the side which I prefer. The spicy BBQ sauce is the better of the two offered, in my opinion. We tried one side of the cole slaw and it was disappointing, as cole slaw usually is.

Best BBQ I've had in Denver. Great service, not that busy on a Saturday night so that was nice too. Had brisket sandwich and it was perfect. Hot BBQ sauce was not very hot but both were delicious.

Another Texas BBQ connoisseur review...these guys are great! LOVE Brickyard BBQ. One of my favorite things here is the beef "Burnt Ends." It's more of a Kansas City style BBQ with a fantastic sauce...but good beef is good beef...and these guys do it well. Prices are good for the quality you get. We talked with the owner...a super personable guy. It makes you feel good to find a non-chain restaurant and good folks who does something really well. And free wireless as a bonus...can't beat that! I would recommend them highly!

Super good BBQ. Since living in Austin, Tx I've been hunting for a chill, good, little BBQ joint... The search is over. I've found it! The brisket was, hands down, my favorite but my husband voted for the hot links. The pulled pork was also excellent. Sides were great. The fries are thick-cut and way too many to eat in one sitting. The baked beans taste like they've been flavored with the fat drippings from the meat... So... Yeah... Yum! Their spicy BBQ was my favorite out of their sauces. Not too spicy but just enough get to let you know it's there. Meals served with white bread & pickles, as it should be. Prices we very reasonable (plater with 3 meats + side about $12, sandwiches about $6). We'll definitely be back!

  • David A.

I ordered the pulled pork sandwhich. I expected a toasted bun, but it came on regular white flimsy sandwich bread. (the kind you usually get on the side). The pork tasted like it was cooked in a crock pot, definitely not smoked. Was a little chewy and dry. The tea was served out of a fountain drink machine, not brewed fresh. The potato salad was good. You get an average amount of food for $10.

Denver BBQ part 3 Don't know why but as soon as I landed in Denver I got a craving for ribs and BBQ. This happens to me often. After a disappointing trip down the street at Rib City I was determined to get some quality ribs. Yelped and found the Brickyard not far. I drove over only to find it was closed! yelp.com/biz_photos/bric… Closed on Sunday bummer! Have to wait another day or two. So I came back 2 days later at 7:30pm.Saw a banner that said all you can eat ribs $19.99 You don't have to twist my arm very much to get me to saddle up for a rib fest deal like that. The kid at the counter taking my order seemed like he didn't want to be there and appeared a little annoyed that I wanted to order the Tuesday AYCE rib deal. I was hungry and didn't care. Ok I get it 1 hour to close and you want to clean up and leave. But what about the customer? So in about 5-10 min out comes my first plate of 5 ribs. yelp.com/biz_photos/bric… Not so eye appealing as the Yelp pictures I had seen. I tried them first with out any sauce other than what they came with. Again I tasted celery salt above the rest?? Is this a Denver thing? Also I love a good Kansas City rib they're generally moister and more meaty but these were super fatty! When I finally rounded up the "kid" and asked for a few more ribs he acted more despondent than the first time con eo dude really! Round two was just as fatty and used the sauce to hide the long cooked ribs beneath. yelp.com/biz_photos/bric… R by then I learned to mix the two BBQ sauces for a better taste. They have original and spicy sauce pumped from 2 gross jugs yelp.com/biz_photos/bric… Both reminded me of watery KC Masterpiece stuff. OK place and maybe I didn't catch them at their shining hour but I was not a happy camper. I felt rushed and the quality of meat was poor. Also they need to learn how to trim the meat better as I got several bone fragment/slivers with my meal. Also a better attitude from the staff would help.

Just ok. My husband and I shared a combo plate since it was our first visit. We got brisket, pork, and chicken. All three meats were dry, especially for barbecue. The fries were great, but I can get fries anywhere. The young man working the counter was very helpful and pleasant. Barbecue sauces were tasty, especially the spicier one.

We had lunch here today and everything was okay. The service was way above average, but the food was nothing over the top special. However, it is well worth the price and if we need a quick lunch then we will definitely stop by.

Went to yelp to find ribs. Picked Brickyard to try. OMG they were so good...fall off the bone. The ribs are "Spare ribs" not babyback...big ole spareribs. My husband (who is yelping on his own) ordered the Tuesday nite special "all you can eat ribs 19.95" he could not finish his first plate there were so many ribs on it. Ive never seen that, usually on the 1st plate of an all you can eat special they give you 4 ribs, you have to ask for the second plate when they deliver the 1st. Not here and Mark, the owner was asking if we wanted more when 1/2 through the plate. The beans were homemade with brisket. Yummy. We will be back, thanks yelp for helping us find this place

Absolutely my favorite BBQ place this side of town. The pulled pork is to die for! Take out is just as easy and delicious as eating in. Bring a sharpie to add to their wonderful wall art!

Average BBQ and horrible customer service. I've been here 5 times and every time they just throw the food down and say "here ya go." They have never once said "thanks" after I gave them $. Yes, you give us food, and we give you money. Both parties should say thanks. While taking orders maybe be helpful for once instead of telling me to just look at the menu. You can get away with that if your food is top notch but this is just an average BBQ joint that a lot of people go to b/c there aren't many BBQ options around.

Have eaten here a few times over the past year. Ribs are definitely the specialty here and you can't go wrong ordering them. They give you the option of sauce, and their regular sauce is really tasty. I've also had their "burnt ends", which are also really good (and a very good value). Their sides are also very good. I've tried their cole slaw, potato salad and baked beans, all of which were very good. Atmosphere is pretty basic but not divey; just a good home-town BBQ joint type of joint. If you're after a really good BBQ experience without a lot of frills, this is your place!

I was ecstatic to try a BBQ place that had such great reviews on Yelp.....disappointment all around. The food was probably worth 2 stars, but starting out the place had a banner on the window declaring "All you can eat ribs" Monday and Tuesday only to be told they didn't have that special that evening. I got the impression they never have that special. Then the bald guy behind the counter was the rudest person I've met in years. I don't know if he was the owner, but I hope not. Otherwise he needs a serious course in hospitality! Won't be back. In fact, I left so upset, I'll likely tell 10 people in addition to this review. He makes Dickies BBQ look like The Rendezvous now!

I was deceitfully led here by positive reviews. I will admit the ribs were able to fall of the bone, but I was rather disappoint by the actual taste. What good is perfectly cooked rib without perfect taste? The ribs were a little pricy too. But, the beef brisket sandwich was fantastic! Who knew? The meat was cooked nicely and the accompanying barbeque sauce was delicious. I would definitely recommend this with their fries. As another person pointed out, please skip the potato salad. Also, what kind of barbeque place doesn't have beer or a good tele? This one. The noise level was quiet as no one was there of all the times I've gone. In conclusion: Beef brisket: yay. Ribs: nay.

Being from midtown Kansas City I really miss having great barbecue three or four times a week and was really excited when I learned about Brickyard's "Kc style bbq". Unfortunately the only thing nearly like kc style was the fries which were good, a lot like Gates or Arthur Bryant's fries. The burnt ends however, were very chewy and served nearly cold and the sauce was terrible, having a strong oregano flavor making it taste like spaghetti sauce.

We are KC transplants been here 3years....the ONLY thing we miss about KC is the BBQ. This place is KC style and it's dang good. The staff is awesome. My fav are the pork burnt ends hubby always gets ribs. We try every place we come across for BBQ in Co and this is the best we have found. Love it

Good down home BBQ. They even have Kool Aid.

Nope. We are not going back there. The young man at the front as you enter was great. The burnt ends were way dry and tough. The coleslaw must had been made days before as the cabbage had taken on the red from other ingredients. I guess I was also surprised that the BBQue beef sandwich was on white bread. Sweet potato fries from a bag probably and they had sugar and maybe some cinnamon on them.

My fiancee and I love barbecue. We have lived in Texas and have experienced great Kansas City Barbecue as well. The guy at the front definitely has a little bit of an attitude but he warmed up quickly, especially when we ordered all meat. The ribs were the best thing there as many people have expressed but they were not fall off the bone. They were good, not great. Not enough flavor to the meat and I wasn't crazy about the rub/seasoning. The burnt ends were flavorful but tough and chewy. I've had some incredible KC burnt ends before and these didn't compare. The brisket was thinly sliced and not from a great cut as there isn't a choice between the regular and moist cut as there are at many barbecue places. The sauces were fine but again, nothing special. I will probably not come back here unless I am in the area. Time to continue the mission of finding a 5 star barbecue place in Denver.

I wish they had a location by our place. BBQ is awesome. No alcohol is served but that is no big deal.

Perplexing how this joint received so many great reviews. Very average BBQ. Quaint little place, but NO beer! I wouldn't go out of my way to get here. No fried okra. Only a few sauces. If you live nearby, it's family friendly, but nothing to rave about.

Ok I'm confused. Strong reviews and I was not impressed. Out of both pork an beef burnt ends. Potato salad mostly frozen. Fries good, baked beans amazing. Ribs just ok. Service good. At 7:15 on a Friday night the place was empty. The sauce was a vinegar base, so true Kansas City BBQ. They had a busy take out business.

If your idea of bar-b-que is meat smothered in bar-b-que sauce then you might be happy here. But if want meat that has seen real smoke then you need to go somewhere else The ribs were tender , a bit over done when you do the bite test. NO SMOKE ring at all!!!!! Not even any smoke smell in the meat I ask for a tiny sample of brisket, just to do a taste test. A tiny sample is $4.95.

I am from the south where we know a little about good Bar-B-Q and I have too say that Mark at Brickyard Bar-B-Q knows his stuff. I ordered the all you can eat ribs and when I picked up my first rib the bone slid right out. Every Rib was like that. All I can say is that was some Dadgum good Bar-B-Q. I will definitely be back. Their Beans and fries were pretty Doggone good as well.

I've been back twice since my first visit. The amazing smell on there told me I must have come at a bad time. We came on a Saturday close to closing the first time. Both times since my bad first experience have been great! The pork burnt ends are fantastic and the ribs are amazing! I will be back if the quality stays this way!

Tried the ribs and the brisket. The brisket was decent, nicely cooked, tender but needing something more for flavor, in my opinion. The ribs were the "short-end" of the rack (shorter bones), and tended to have the stringy outer layer predominate the meat. I'm not a fan of that. Maybe you are. And it tends to be thinner than the rest of the rack. The selection of the short-end could have been because it was a 3-bone plate? The flavor was fairly good; it was definitely tender and juicy, with an interesting but mild smoke flavor. The staff was very accommodating.

I got the three meat combination: brisket, pork and links. Here's what I liked: The sauce was great. The fries were great. The pork was pretty good. The sausage was just okay. And the brisket wasn't that great. Overall, it was better than some of I've had in Denver, but still it can't compete with anything in Kansas City.

As far as I'm concerned, this is the best BBQ I've found in Denver. I have family from Kansas City so I must admit that this isn't to that level, but nonetheless it's damn fine food for Denver. They have great burnt ends, the ribs are stellar and the hot links are above average (although not great). I'm a big fan of the hot BBQ sauce they have on the table as well. The atmosphere is pedestrian, but it's an affordable BBQ joint... I wasn't blown away by their brisket or the pulled pork, but overall, this is a good bet to get your smoke fix. I was also actually pleasantly surprised by their "dessert of the month". I've had both their chocolate cake and lemon cake, and was happy both times.

I went to Brickyard many years ago, didn't love it and never went back. Bad mistake! I should have given it another try before yesterday. It is now great. The ribs were excellent. I'll order them every time I go. The beef burnt ends and beef brisket were both stellar. Ditto on ordering them every time. The sides were great. I particularly liked the steak fries. One of the things I didn't like about Brickyard years ago was that they used some really lousy brand of ketchup. It's a little thing, but it makes a difference to me. They now use Heinz, and with good ketchup, the steak fries were delicious. The pork burnt ends were fine, but not as good as the ribs, beef burnt ends or beef brisket. The guy at the counter was pleasant, and the service was great. I'll be a regular from now on!
