Caution: Brewing Co Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Very witty bathrooms. I like the laid back atmosphere. However it was very cold in the bar and they only had 4 beers on tap to choose from. I had the wild blonde, it was very tasty so I will be back to try more.

Agree with Becca R...3.5 stars and please print the beer menu on a normal sheet of paper. This place has a nice atmosphere, friendly bartenders, and a good pool table. The beer is mediocre. I've tried about 4 of them and only one I really like. Most good breweries you like all their beers, you just might only have a taste for one or two. I think if they could spend less on cool names and art for their beer and more on brewing, this could be a great place. Lakewood is sparse on breweries, they could steal the show if they put their minds to it.

Not my kinda beer, very strange flavor combos, plus I'm more of a amber ale - stout girl (they had neither). The staff seemed very pretentious and hipster-like. Not where I wanna hang out, sorry.

Met at caution for a beer with a group of people. It was a random weeknight. The setup is nice in a small strip mall. They had a lot of employees eagerly waiting to pour some beers(seemingly way too many for the number of customers) The selection of beers was very limited. They said that they had run out of several. The ones they still had were ok. It was karaoke night. The karaoke setup was pretty weak and the sound kept cutting out. I may go back when they have more beers. They don't serve any food. There is a wing stop near by, super easy to get some wings and bring them in the brewery.

Now that they've started brewing on site, they have better beer and a larger selection to choose from. I haven't tried one I didn't like, but I tend to stick with the higher ABV beers. I should give them 3 stars for still not having a TV.

The beers I tried were great, but the staff was very clicky with customers. I did not feel welcome at all. Also, their beer "menu" is on flip cards. This is annoyingly inconvenient when you are trying to compare different beers.

I feel compelled to share some love for a Brewery we've been visiting every Tuesday night for Trivia. Caution can be found tucked away in a small strip mall just south of Belmar. It's a biotch to get to if you're coming from South of Wads but the u-turn is worth it. The decor is minimalist, casual, and just a cool place to kick back some brews. They offer a decent amount of seating at the bar, a couple of various sized tables inside, and an outdoor patio area. Feel free to bring your four legged best friend because everyone will go bananas trying to cop a feel...er pet....them in this dog friendly joint. Good place for a group of people down to going solo. The staff is super friendly and always on top of having your next round ready to go. Super shout out to Ben who looks like Jimmy Fallon. I love when this dream boat serves us. The beer itself is pretty good. They have a wide variety to choose from so everyone goes home happy. Some of my favorites are Lao Wang and Honey Matrimony. Caution delivers on flavor and taste but it always feels a little "watered down". Not much hop for your buck but that's not a bad thing. Everything is decently priced so you really can't complain. You get to play with their ipads when you pay and sign/draw your signature. After a couple beers this is pretty fun. This is a bring/order your own food establishment. They are right next door to a wing stop which is a pretty good choice to go with a refreshing beer. We've also brought a variety of other takeout as well as sandwiches and chips from home. They typically have a tasty food truck hanging out back that's easily accessible from the inside. The parking lot isn't huge and can be a scramble occasionally. If you are going with a group on a busier night consider carpooling so you're not drawing straws for a spot. Over all, Caution is a pretty cool place to kick it.

Great little find. Caution: Brewing Co is almost hidden in an unassuming Lakewood strip mall space. Inside is quite a bit larger than you's every think. Larger...almost spacious. It is of course a tap room. There was Karaoke on the night I stopped in last week. A small billiard table does make for some more intimate bar-type feel. Tap room- not Brew Pub keep this term in mind when visiting. Without the health dept rules and regs- Caution does encourage BYOF or most importantly- solidifying an amicable relationship with neighboring Wings, Pizza restaurants. Lets you enjoy their impressively large and unique beer selection and pairing it with whatever you decide to bring along/ and or order in. Okay now let's get down to it- beers: After looking over the lengthy options of Caution offerings- I had to start with the Lao Wang Lager. A crisp golden Lager style beer made with a "secret blend" of Asian Spices. Complex and very satisfying but easy drinking for sure- but be careful as Lao Wang does supply 5.1% Alcohol. Next I moved on to Wild Blonde Ale. Maybe just because of the name I knew this one would be my favorite. haha. Again smooth and easy drinking but this Blonde Ale boasts 8% organic Minnesota lake grown wild rice which contributes to a subtle complex flavor and 4.6 % Alcohol. My first visit to Caution was a first date. My impression of Caution, their beers and facility lead me to say I am looking forward to trying more of the selection at Caution :Brewing Co. I can't say the same from my date- but I am happy she recommended we meet there at least.

I was excited to try Caution, but the beer wasn't amazing. Caution: Don't go and instead drink of another grander brewery. Your taste buds and horse will love you for moving on.

I love Caution breweries! First off, they have a lot of fabulous beers! The Card Your Mom is one of my faves for sure. There are a couple that aren't my style but there are so many choices, I can't complain! They had twelve different beers about a month ago so I have no idea what was up with the previous reviewers' situations because we had a lot of samples! What I can criticize is the lack of ventilation, ooohwee it smells danky in here! The brewery smell slaps you in the face upon entry and slowly fades as you get your drink on. Plus, where is the shuffleboard? Did I miss it, cuz that is what makes a great brewery into a super kickass one! The service is fabulous, they have excellent pricing (including AHA discounts), and give out free high fives. They also provide ample information on their brews and promote the local crafty lady calendar and local brew dog book. I don't know what these other reviews are referencing but they are nothing but attentive and friendly in my experience, believe me I would state otherwise if needed. Chris is a laid back, but ever present bar tender. And perhaps it was due to the place only having 4 other people there on a Saturday afternoon in a snowstorm, but we were well tended to! I do agree that they would please more people if they had screens with the football games on. But, as that is not my thing at all I really don't care. Personally, I would enjoy classic music videos or interesting beer trivia facts on to entertain me, but I digress. This location hosts karaoke and is having a contest, so check that out. There is plenty of room to chill and a great vibe that might suck you in. One of the best things about this joint is the kombucha on tap! I love love love how this is becoming a thing! Do you know what compliments your beer drinking experience, kombucha that's what! Seriously though, badass beers + great prices & service is why Caution is a sweet spot. Hit it up!

The service was great the bartender was very knowledgeable and helped me choose the perfect beverage. When you get a flight of beers they write the name of the beer on the carrier. Though very simple this helped me out a ton! I usually forget which beer is which after the bartender walks away. I also love the fact you can get several pour sizes. Beer was good!

Beer was good, but staff was lame. Non engaging and ultimately made us feel unwelcome...so we left and took our business elsewhere.

  • Doug Y.

This location is WAY easier to find than the one in Aurora was. For some reason I thought the beers I had in Aurora were a lot more added flavor forward than the flight and pint I had here were. I have to admit I'm not usually a fan of flavored beers but on this visit I thought almost all the beers were subtle and well balanced. I saw a sign on the wall anouncing that they have an open mic night on Thursdays so I may have to stop by some time for that.

Pretty good beer. Karaoke on Wednesday. The saison was good. I'd come again, I like the atmosphere.

Gotta give these guys at 1-star bump for being located out here in the burbs and running some odd beers as main options. Seems like the place has potential to be a great neighborhood spot, especially with the killer homebrew shop across the street (collaborations?).

This place is definitely Top 5 brewery on my growing list of visited breweries. First, the beer- SOLID. Good variety to choose from, and of course I did a sampler of the following: Lao Wang Lager, Oolong Duk Dong Berliner Weiss, Card Your Mom saison, Honey Matrimony brown ale, and Nite-Cap cinnamon oatmeal stout. I enjoyed every single one! The cinnamon in the stout wasn't my favorite flavor. The lager had "asian spices" which I didn't love so I passed on that one too. Then, while the brown was very tasty and smooth, it was in the 90s the day I was here so I needed something a little more refreshing. So, the saison and berliner weiss were my two pints of the day! The saison was so bright and full of good flavors (the ladies of my group preferred this one for sure). And the berliner weiss had a bit of a sour note to it that was so good. In addition to what I sampled, they also have a good selection of IPAs and other varieties. The space was pretty typical of most strip mall taprooms- nice big bar, lots of high top tables, music and TVs playing, and this one is next to a Wing Stop which is a bonus for when they don't have a food truck. It was open and clean with a decent sized patio too. Guy behind the bar was nice, though not overly chatty (I would have appreciated more beer info when I inquired his opinion on a few), but he was on top of his serving game for sure. Looks like they have karaoke and trivia nights, which is always fun, but alas I live entirely too far away to partake in those shenanigans. However, I will absolutely make it a priority to visit Caution again next time I'm near one (apparently this is their "West" location to one in Denver/Aurora). Thanks Caution! I'll see you around soon.

Really nice staff, beer was alright. We had the saison, the IPA and the harvest. Everything was highly drinkable. Would come here again in a pinch.

I love Caution West. There is almost always a new beer to try, and the creativity they have in brewing is off the charts. I particularly like their old school game night. They also have some great entertainers come in from time to time. And my favorite part is that I can bring my dog.

  • Margaux C.

Although I wouldn't call this place unique or well decorated, it's great as a friendly neighborhood brewery. It wins major points with their brews. The Nite Cap, Card Your Mom & The Earl were my favorites... I had a flight of everything on my first visit. They were all good beers but those three stood out as being exceptional. It was fun playing some pool and enjoying ourselves. A great place to go if you're in the hood... It stands above the other more suburban & corporate options around.

Caution Brewery:West has been rolling strong lately. They hit a few bumps when they first opened which caused some beers to not be on tap....oh but patience is a virtue! They're now coming up with original and very tasty new beers all the time. Last few times we've been there they've had at least 10 beers to choose from. Danny and Betty are amazing and so is their witty staff. We love these guys and will continue to support our local brewery in Lakewood!

Caution was one of the breweries we kept hearing good things about. Guessing for starters we should have gone to the one downtown but chose this location on what else we wanted to do yesterday. Walked in to a full bar with two tabletops also full. Sat in a recently vacated spot only to wait and watch the two "bartenders" check their phones, chat, and do dishes. We took off the invisibility cloak we'd accidentally worn in and still had trouble getting served. I thought the lack of beer in front of us would've prompted a quicker response. Tried the flight which included a lager, blonde, saison, IPA and honey brown. If you drank them light to dark they were ok no real standouts. Though neither of us liked the brown at all. Way too in your face smoky. Wouldn't go back here. Nothing was impressive or made me want to take any home. Not to mention this was the worst experience we've ever had at a brewery. Most places the staff are friendly and eager to discuss their beer. These guys were worried about dishes.

Great beer selection! Horrible staff! When you have to greet yourself, ask for the football channel to be turned on.....not very inviting. There's nothing worse than when you have to ask a bartender their name, they respond, but don't ask your your name.

Loved this brewery! Kind of hidden, you wouldn't expect it to be such a gem! I met Danny the Brewmaster at Winter Brew Fest, and had to check it out! This Lakewood location is perfectly outside of Belmar so even on a Friday night it isn't loud and crazy. It's super laid back, welcoming and a nice hang out spot. Tried that Smoked Red Ale and the Honey Matrimony. Honey Matrimony was the better of the two. I will be back!

Beer is okay. there weren't many people there for a Friday evening. Service was great. The place closes at 8pm which I thought was awkward.

Great variety of beers and dog friendly! They don't have food but there is a wing stop next door. The only downside was the extremely wobbly tables which caused me to lose half my beer a few times.

The beers were absolutely top notch, and our bartender Chris knew what he was talking about in recommending different choices for us. Definitely would recommend.

Caution brewery was a place I've been hearing good things about, so my buddy and I decided to check it out. We got there around 6pm on a Friday night and the place was pretty dead. They had about 5 beers available, but that quickly dropped to 2 after they were having issues their equipment and ran out of one earlier that day. Although the beer was unique, it was sadly nothing fantastic and slightly disappointing. I really wish I could've tried the other ones, which they didn't really have a time frame on when they'd be available. The biggest peeve of mine though, was when one of the bartenders decided to take a break and go smoke a joint out back. He later came back reeking of it. I have no problem if you want to smoke marijuana in your own free time, but it seems to be incredibly unprofessional to do that at work and come back stinking of it.

Here you will find unique beers that aren't true to style. Innovation is the name of the game. I sampled several different beers, and I really like their darker beers, especially, the winter warmer. Although, this was their only big beer on tap, and the IPA didn't have great flocculation or hoppyness. I still enjoyed getting a free beer, and singing karaoke and the service.

  • Jeff S.

My buddy lives a few blocks away so we came in here for a pint or two on a Friday afternoon. There were two bartenders working and had 5-6 beers on tap, including an IPA which is my go-to these days. That was about the best they had to offer, we sampled everything and decided to settle on pints of that. There's a wing joint next door where you can grab food to accompany your libations. There's a lot of space inside but it looks very unfinished and sparse. If they jazzed it up a bit it would help the ambiance. The beers overall were fine but nothing to write home about. Still, I'd try them again.

Cool brew pub/tap room, spacey, great staff, decent prices, nice array of brews. I like when the staff aren't know it all beer snobs. I forget the bartender's name, but real cool, honest, knowledgeable. Keep it up!

Really like the beer, but terrible and unfriendly staff. Came in to watch the NFL playoff games and they weren't even on the TVs. had to ask the bartender to put on a game. He seemed a bit taken back. First and last time here.

I'm with a local dog rescue and Caution has been a great community partner. The beer and service have always been good. They allow well-behaved dogs on leashes in the bar so it's a great meet-up place if your pup needs an outing.

I've never been to the main brewery, but I've run into Caution's beers at Colorado Plus and not been disappointed. So, they've opened a new taproom a bit further south. Let me start with the cons, because it's a shorter list. The taproom is a bit...barren. It's a strip mall setup with tables and a bar. It doesn't have the speakeasy vibe of someplace lie De Steeg or the fun atmosphere of someplace like Dry Dock or Copper Kettle. But it's a least nicer than Rickoli. Overall, the space could be a bit more interesting. With that out of the way, let's talk about the good. Service was excellent (prompt and friendly), but most importantly the beer was awesome. We tried everything they had on tap. A few stand outs were the fresh hopped cream ale, the IPA and the saison. Cream ale. I usually hate it. It's a watery style for people that think Budweiser is too flavorful. But the addition of fresh hops adds a depth and bitterness that suits the beer well. I'm not typically an IPA fan, but I enjoyed Caution's take on the style. They bill it as a "starter" IPA, which seems accurate. it doesn't have the over top hoppiness of a lot of the IPA's on the market. Rather than relying on astronomical IBU's to mask any other flavor, Caution produces a balanced beer that highlights the hops, but let's other flavor through. Finally, I loved the saison. it did credit to the style, but brought something new to the table with coriander and cardamom spices. A lighter beer with excellent depth and dimension. A brewery rises and falls on the strength of its beer. I can look past some mild failings in ambiance if the beer is exceptional. At Caution, the beer is worth the visit. Phenomenal brewing going on here, and well worth a visit. I will be back. EDIT: I'm way late on this, but a few months after I posted this review, I got a message from Caution thanking me for my feedback and addressing the one negative I pointed out (that the space could be a bit more interesting). Two points on this: 1) This is the way you handle customer feedback. It let's me know the business cares what it's customers think and builds a positive relationship. You can compare this to the owner of Brewery Rickoli, who is still sending me random nasty messages after I said his beer was just ok (almost two years ago) 2) I've spent a lot of time at Caution since my first review. They haven't done a lot to change to the physical space, but they host a lot of events (like Geeks Who Drink) that keeps it interesting. I think those are both worth another star.

Interesting little brewery! I liked the uniqueness of some of their brews. I especially enjoyed their Asian inspired beers. The Lao Wang Lager was crisp and almost had a tea like flavor to it. Tuesday nights they have trivia here and it's really fun! You get chances to win free beers and top 2 teams get money to spend at the bar. The bartenders were friendly and attentive! They even come to the tables to take your order and check if you need a refill, something I'm not used to from breweries like this. Stop in sometime to watch a game on the TV at the bar or play trivia or sing your heart out at the karaoke that I saw signs for. It's a great place to hangout in Lakewood!

I think an overall 3.5 star rating for this place is perfectly accurate. Everything is good, but for me, nothing really stands out enough to call it great. I've been here a couple times now and have sampled most of their offerings. By the way.... PLEASE print the beer list on a normal piece of paper? The little flip cards make me feel like I'm back in middle school quizzing myself on Spanish vocab. Anywhoooo, the Card Your Mom saison might be my favorite, but it's probably not a beer I would go out of my way to find, either. The first time I was there I remember liking their IPA, but it was out on my most recent visit. This most recent trip they had a blood orange wit that was decent but I found myself wishing they had played up the blood orange way more. I think they play it safe with their beer. Subtly can be nice but it can also be boring! Employees have always been very pleasant to me but I think the atmosphere of this place is kind of strange. I dunno, maybe something to do with their fairly random location amongst a bunch of chain retailers on Wadsworth. Then again, I've been to breweries in much weirder locations. I hate to harp on decor, because who really cares what the place looks like if they're serving good beer? But dear god I really hate the decor here. It reminds me of a cheap corporate restaurant.... If Pizza Hut had a bar..... I picture it looking like Caution. Sorry guys. Will I return? Yes. Doesn't hurt that the Petco that carries food for my chinchillas is a couple blocks away. Always nice to reward yourself with a beer after chores on Wadsworth Will I recommend? Sure. But, there are also many other breweries I'd recommend before this one We'll see, maybe it will grow on me over time!

had a chance to hang out on the west side of town and my friends and I were trying to figure out a place to talk and enjoy a beverage. So I pull out my handy dandy Yelp app and lo and behold Caution brewery was just down the street on Wadsworth. Caution is located in a new strip mall with plenty of parking and has a nice clean look. in what seems to be standard for breweries, the place is sparsely decorated and seating is very basic and maybe a little limited. I had a taster with the Lao Wang lager, there Saison, and the toaster bat black. The good news is that Denver has a great craft brew market. The bad news for Caution is that I dont ser them standing out from the competition. Its a nice choice if you live in the neighborhood, but not necessary for your beer pilgrimage.
