Had a pretty sub par experience here. My wife and I ordered some tacos with another group and the lady taking the order lost our ticket so we waited 25 minutes while everyone else got their food. I went back up to the cashier and she couldn't find the ticket and didn't remember a thing that we offered. So I reordered and we waited another 15 min for our food. Tacos were average, the chorizo wasn't fully cooked and the fish tacos were covered in mayo. We won't be back.

One of those amazing, hole-in-the-wall finds...and it's in MY neighborhood!!!! Great flavor, beautifully presented.

Our new favorite! Great Mexican food, seriously good. Their breakfast burrito puts the others to shame! Tacos are also another great choice. Once you try it, you'll be back too!!!

This might officially be the lowest rating I have ever given. This place was not good. From the moment I walked in I was assaulted with the smell of dirty grease. It was so thick I could feel my pores clog as I sat there. The food was not terrible but it wasn't great either. Everything was fried in the same nasty grease. Carnitas, Asada, Relleno...all had the same oily, greasy taste. Service was ok...which is the only reason this place is not getting a 1 rating. Prices were not that bad, but more than the food was worth.

This is authentic Mexican food, with an authentic grunge atmosphere. Don't be fooled by the pretty pictures on the website - any more flies in the place and I could not have finished my meal... oh wait - I didn't finish my meal because I had second thoughts about the salad. If they ran the air conditioner and kept the door closed, it might keep the flies out. Until then... well what do you want? As it is - this is 1, maybe 2 steps down from the experience at a QTs BBQ - sort of an informal atmosphere and the food is greasy, unhealthy, but not bad tasting. I expect I'll go here once every 3 years or so... :)

So glad this Taqueria moved into the neighborhood. But I just read that they were just across the street? How did I not know about this? Well, it was a great move. In the 5 weeks that they have been in their new location, I have been close to a dozen times. Each time trying something new. And it always impresses. I first went to try their breakfast burritos. Chorizo or bacon. Either way you choose, delicious. The chili rellenos are great too! Just tried the huevos rancheros today. Did not disappoint. Walking distance from home. It would be great if they were to get a license to serve cervezas for the hot days ahead of us.

Ruben's authentic Mexican food is delicious! Great tacos and the best breakfast burritos in Boulder County!

New location! I didn't realize this was the same place that was in the gas station across the street, and honesty, the idea of Mexican food served at a gas station seemed a little strange to me, so I never tried it- until this morning! Amazing breakfast burritos, fast and friendly service. New location is clean and really nice too!

Gone here twice now...once for breakfast burritos, once for lunch....good food, good service, nice people that work there. We enjoyed it very much both times. They lose 1/2 a star because their green chili (for smothered burritos) is missing something but I am not sure what, and another 1/2 because even though the place is clean, the decor is kinda blah. Minor problems when the food is made to order and so yummy! We will be going back lots! :)

It's so nice to have an authentic taqaria in our community! Their tacos are $1.50 and are traditionally served with cilantro and onions. I also loved getting a glass bottle coke with my meal. If you're hungry for a taco fix this is the place.

Finally a great Baja style taco place nearby! Prices are right, the meat is plentiful and delicious and the pick de gallo is fresh. Owner and staff are helpful and happily converse in English or Spanish.

Sorry, I don't agree with the other reviewers and was sad we wasted our time there! It's dirty, the food was twice cooked, and they charged us randomly. It was awful!

Huge burrito made SO fast to order. Awesome homemade salsas. The chef was super friendly and accommodating. I would love to see this place thrive. There are few breakfast options near my house or on my route to work and you can't beat the thirty second drive over, or the prompt service since I'm almost always running late! Really want to try other options on the menu. The aesthetic is not special since its in a gas station but for a quick grab and go I am super stoked to taste what else they offer. Definitely worth enduring the flickering gas station lights for a tasty bite.

Ordered steak tacos, rice and beans, and cheese fries. Steak tacos taste like card board, rice tastes like wet towel, no beans provided, cheese fries are edible. For $27 dollars this is unacceptable.

The tacos were simply great. We were looking for some authentic street tacos and found them. Coming from Kansas City and our great Mexican scene, I was very apprehensive... But this place delivers. It was quick, cheap, and very flavorful.

Do not let the gas station front fool you! We recently moved here from Northern California and have been in search of a "legit" taqueria that doesn't serve fried tacos and chimichangas. We ordered tacos with carnitas, chicken and lengua (tongue). They were all amazing and fresh tasting. The salsas packed real heat & flavor vs watered down taco served you often find around here. Be sure to have a refreshing agua frescas to help cool it off. We look forward to going back and trying the burritos & plate entrees. The owner, Ruben, is extremely friendly & has truly started something special here in Lafayette!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
