Eats & Sweets Menu

This is the absolute best place for any food/ dessert in Lafayette. The banana bread ice cream sandwich is pretty close to the best thing in the history of food. Do butter pecan, chai, or cinnamon ice cream.

Ice cream was hard/nonfluffy and lacking flavor (granted they don't make it themselves, but still, I would consider a different source). My friend got a cookie dough ice cream sandwich, and the ice cream had literally a single huge chunk of cookie dough. Which, I guess, still counts (even the ratio was technically correct), but come on, guys, really? Peach bread was also pretty bland, and lacked peach flavor, which is kind of a downer. And, as weird as it sounds, the portions were just too big for ice cream/dessert. I understand attempting to appeal to the stoner crowd, but obesity is generally something I try to avoid, and having to throw away half of my sandwich to prevent heart disease is never fun.

3.5 stars. Wandered in with a friend while waiting for the poetry reading at Cannon Mine to begin. Sweets looked marvelous and all the little kiddies milling around inside and outside were clearly enjoying their ice cream cones. Though my friend tried and enjoyed one of the sweets, I ordered one of the eats: a veggie hot dog. Nice that they have a veggie dog on the menu. It was good and reasonably priced. Downside is that they need to be staffed to handle the crowds that tend to gather for the ice cream. Just my observation from being there for an admittedly brief time. Love the decor and the homey atmosphere. Want to try sweets next time.

This place is seemingly always crowded, which is a good sign, but you've been warned. You're not going to pop in for anything. The good news is that the baked goods were fresh at 7pm on a Saturday night, which is unheard of. I got a banana bread ice cream sandwich, which could have been a meal on its own. Next time, it will be. My wife and daughter got ice cream and we were all very happy. Prices are a bit high, but the quality is excellent. I went back on a different day for some mini pies and ended up with blueberry. They weren't cheap at over $12 for 3, but again, the quality was amazing. The pies were heavy, dense, still warm, and loaded with fresh blueberries. I might have to go back for peach now.

LOVE this place!!! Now that they deliver to our office, we order from here all the time. I love the build your own salad. And the team there is great.

Chicken salad sandwich was delicious and reasonably priced. Staff and owner are extremely friendly. Definitely give it a try.

Love love LOVE everything about this place! Be sure to not only check out the sweets, but go in for their awesome rotating soups, quiches, and made to order sandwiches.

AWESOME. COOKIES. AND. CREAM. Their prices are a bit much and the check-in deal is hardly worth it, but man do they have a killer C&C ice cream. I'd go back strictly for that. Not a fancy place and is very homey. I'd suggest cleaning up shop a little by de-cluttering and adding a bit of a modern flare so that it looks fresh and appeal to more people. The staff is nice and overall they have a good thing going on.

It's been awhile since we have been here. What I remember is a very friendly guy and pretty tasty food. definitely recommend to try this out a few times. Maybe we will go there today to get another taste.

This place is a gem! Everything I have had has been awesome and super friendly staff, they even served us to go after they closed.....my new favorite local spot!!!!

I am a fan & I love supporting a local creamery (Boulder Ice Cream) & a local establishment. Their prices are 1/2 of what the other local ice creamery over in Louisville charge & the ice cream is better. My only reason for giving 4 instead of 5 stars is that I find the customer service to always be somewhat 'chilly' (a smile would be nice & not acting exasperated) every time I've been in (this is with several different employees) and today's 'single' scoop was only 5 bites (I counted). I call a 5 bite scoop a 'kids scoop' not a single scoop. Other than that, the location is great and I really like their ice cream selection.

Some of the best sweets around. I don't even want to walk by it because it is hard to resist. I have only tried their sweets but I hear their sandwiches are the bomb too.

Loved this place. We have been here a few times for summer ice cream and it was delicious. Came more recently in November for a birthday party. The staff had the cupcakes all ready to serve when we arrived. The cupcakes were perfect. The flavor was excellent and the frosting was amazing. Not something you are used to when coming for a 3 year old birthday party. We had a group of 25 and everyone ordered lunch. The staff was so helpful and responsive and even played a happy birthday song for the birthday girl! Totally coming back!

Eats and Sweets is small, locally owned cafe in downtown Lafayette. The atmosphere is really comfortable and kid friendly. You order at the counter and wait for your food. They have really tasty gluten-free bagguettes that you can order sandwiches on. They have 'make your own' sandwiches and salads. I usually get tuna salad, which is really good, and have also gotten their chicken salad and turkey sandwiches as well. They have really yummy gluten-free baked goods such as cupcakes and banana bread (they do contain dairy). They also have ice cream and sorbet, most of which is GF. I really enjoy eating here and recommend it! Check out glutenfreeboulder.com for more reviews on how GF friendly places in the Boulder area are! glutenfreeboulder.com/20…

I love taking my nephews here. The ice cream banana bread sandwhich is great with vanilla ice cream (not with espresso). Sandwiches are amazing. Worth going to for sure!

This place is awesome! Customer service is wonderful and the banana bread ice cream sandwich was heavenly. Pretty much the only place to go for ice cream and sweets. I've heard their food is good too hit haven't tried it yet.

They didn't want to honor their own coupon. Charged me full price anyway, then when I brought it up the manager pretended to correct it, but he actually only removed $2, the coupon was for $3. Service was very slow.

This place was delicious! I only tried the desserts but I'm sure next time I'm in town I will try the soups and sandwiches too. I had the cheesecake, which was highly recommended (and for good reason). It had two layers of different consistency, which made for an interesting and very creamy cheesecake. I also tried the pear pie, which I took home and heated up. It was also very good. Good crust and filling. The staff was friendly and helpful. They gave great suggestions and I would definitely return here. Very kid friendly and a nice atmosphere.

My son and I were having a rough day yesterday. It was bad enough that I decided we needed dessert before dinner. So, we went down to Eats & Sweets to see what they had. They've been open for over a year now, according to the owner, who served us. He explained that he prepares/cooks the sandwiches and other lunch foods, while his wife bakes the various goods such as cupcakes and mini pies. The ice cream in the shop is Boulder brand, which we've never tried before. My son selected the key lime pie ice cream, and it was really yummy. There were pieces of crust in the ice cream, adding a nice texture and some spots that weren't too cold (sorry, but I'm sensitive to cold stuff, so this was a big perk). I selected a mini peach pie. It was obviously homemade and warmed up for us. My son and I ended up sharing goodies, like pie a la mode. Yum. We ate everything we bought. The pricing was a bit steep, but not completely out of line with other shops like this that have been cropping up. We paid about $7.50 for our goodies, and I added a small tip as a courtesy. We would definitely go back. The service was friendly and the ice cream was delicious.

I'd give it 2 1/2 stars if that were an option. Everything is fresh but not worth the $$. My ham, Swiss, and basil quiche had so much basil I could not taste the ham. The quiche was also wet so the crust was soaked. We got there about 1/2 hr after ordering and wrote down our order only to find out the menu was from yesterday and hadn't changed it yet. That was a let down. They are also very stingy on the feta on the salad.

  • Jeslyn H.

I have ordered the Flour-free, chocolate cupcakes from here twice now, for a work party and again yesterday for my own birthday! They never fail to deliver the best cupcakes I've ever had! I am especially happy to have found them, as I have food allergies and both Bobby and his wife were willing to work within what I could have to make sure I would be able to eat everything within each cake! They have taken such great care of me, that I will be using them from now on, no hesitation!

Not even a big sweets fan but this place is delicious! Haven't tried the sandwiches yet but the ice cream and desserts are top notch.

The individual pear pies are amazing, they have local products, and the owners children are cute. From Pi day to deals (like the free mini cupcake we need to get!) Eats & Sweets has always been so great. Did I mention individual pies? Now you don't have to feel as bad having two or three pies!

Places like Eats & Sweets are why I sometimes miss living in the Loui-fayette area. Quaint, unassuming, local - everything you could want in a business located on a small town main street drag. Delicious sandwiches every time, and I would even choose E&S over some of my favorite highly-touted Boulder sandwich shops. The Italian is a personal favorite, yummy bread, big and stuffed fulled of meats and vegetables and just what you want when you're craving a deli sandwich. The sweets selection was always secondary to me - a cupcake, cookie, mini-pie, or piece of cake bought on impulse and savored. I don't get back to Loui-fayette much - well, ever - since making the Big Move to Denver, but this is a definitely a place that I associate with memories of my time there.

I am review #35...all of which are good, need I say more? Well I will, their service is awesome, Bobby cares about his customers. Their ice cream is good and free of added chemicals, which is a must if I am going to take my girls out for ice cream. In the summer months we go there 2-3 times a week. The location is perfect for the kids, it is right next to a plaza with a water fountain for the kids to play in, we tend to go there, let our girls play while my husband and I sit back and enjoy the evening.

After a visit to the WOW museum, just down the street, we used Yelp to help us locate a lunch spot and were very pleased with the results. I love the ordering process - you use a card to select the items you would like in your sandwich and then hand it in and they make it for you. I really find it takes the stress out of ordering on the spot - I like to contemplate. They have daily soup specials and I loved the farro in the vegetable soup - nutritious AND delicious. Cupcakes are stellar and the play area in the corner for the kids help stretch the lunch time hour just that little bit more. Two thumbs up!

  • Kara D.

I love how I could easily customize my own sandwich. I had the Italian sandwich, but changed it up to have ham and turkey instead, and it was no problem. Everything is freshly made and I enjoyed my lunch!

  • Brody G.

What an awesome place! Locally owned bakery, ice cream, and soups and sandwiches. Amazing soups! And the service is fantastic!

    (5)
  • Alex B.

Their cupcakes are excellent. The cake is moist and the frosting is fluffy and not overly sweet. They lose one star for having a limited selection. Perhaps it was because I came late in the day, but they only had chocolate and vanilla.

  • Meghan M.

The customer service could not have been better---and the dessert was amazing. I live out of state but asked about placing an order for a birthday cake delivery in a nearby town. They were incredibly helpful with taking the order and delivery, with no extra charge!! My friend received the chocolate cake with butter cream frosting, freshly made that morning and said it was amazing. In fact everyone at her office is now making this a regular stop to try all the other treats. Thanks so much Eats and Sweets! Can't wait to visit when I am in CO!

  • Meo W.

My mother brought me a mini peach pie and it was divine! Not usually a fan of fruit pies but this was perfect. Update 5/3/12 I am ADDICTED to the carrot cupcakes omg soooo good. The frosting is fluffy and is like clouds covered in syrup or something.... Idk but it's freaking yum

The soups. Oh, how I dream of the soups.

A wonderful local business! The owner is a very personable guy, and his wife makes some awesome baked goods. I have yet to go there for lunch, but I fully plan to soon. I love the chocolate cheesecake!

Friendly people, great treats! I had an Elvis Shake, which was delicious, and brought two mini apple pies home. The pies were a huge hit - just the right amount of spice, with tasty apples. I'll definitely make it back soon!

Stumbled across this cute little shop while driving through Lafayette. So glad we did! The Banana Bread Ice Cream Sandwich is outstanding. Have gone back several times just for one of these sweet treats. I'm also big fan of their single pies...warmed up with some ice cream...so good. Also discovered they make a great sandwich as well. One of our favorite little spots.

We love it here! Best soups. Best sandwiches. Best desserts ever! Locally owned and they make every customer feel like family. The employees are so kind and special. We go there every time we have family in town. My daughter won't eat anyone else's sandwiches. The cheesecake truly is the Best!

This is a great local place that has great made to order sandwiches, baked goods, drinks, and Boulder Ice Cream! Plus it is open day and evening and is right next to the Festival Plaza in Lafayette. I am so glad this place is here - help support em!

Eats and Sweets is a great little ice cream shop that's a lot of fun for kids. We love stopping in in the summer after our daughter plays in the neighboring fountain. The owner is usually behind the counter offering helpful friendly service and like another poster mentioned, the banana bread ice cream sandwich is pretty darn good. Definitely stop in some time!

  • Charles S.

We stopped by today after going to the nearby WOW kids museum and we had an excellent lunch. The sandwiches were reasonably priced, large, and custom made with dozens of options for toppings, dressings, and fillings. The soup was delicious, and the cheese and bacon quiche was amazing. The staff was friendly and helpful. We didn't have any sweets this time, but given the rave reviews by other yelpers we will be back to try them soon.

My whole family enjoys Eats and Sweets due to the quality and freshness of their food options. I love their made to order sandwiches (including the gluten free bread option for my daughter and I), their salads are fantastic, and their desserts are wonderful. My daughter loves their gluten free banana bread ice cream sandwich!

  • Valeda S.

OMG I love this place. Udi's is like a stone's throw from my work but I'm never very thrilled about their sandwiches & salads (plus its super expensive). I remembered this place and although its a 10 minute drive its well worth the coupla extra minutes! Love the BYO sandwich/salad & the mix & match (1/2 sandwich or quiche with soup or salad). Eating their egg salad sand. on gluten free bread right now - the egg salad has some zest to it that really makes it stand out. Only hard part is walking away without getting a banana bread ice cream sandwich!

  • Rachel H.

A great ice cream shop. But their fresly baked goods are amazing! They even have gluten free treats that are delicious. They also hand craft sandwiches and salads and have delicious homemade soups. Not to be missed in Old Town Lafayette!

This is the fourth 5-star review in a row, so if you're reading this take the hint and check this place out! I stopped in here by chance one morning with my two daughters, one of which was a baby. I have never in my life seen a place that was so great for both adults and kids of any age. My 8 year old went nuts over the hot chocolate bar. Yes, they have a bar of fixins with marshmallows, candy canes, sprinkles, and more. It was great. I had an excellent sandwich that was made on the spot by the very friendly owner. They had a stash of toys that my baby girl just loved. The kids were able to have fun and feel welcome, and I had a great meal and good time.

Awesome place not just for ice cream, but to grab a sandwich and soup as well! If you get a sandwich, try their marinated tofu! Also their homemade banana bread ice cream sandwich is simply amazing, try it with coconut ice cream!

Yum! We stopped here today for the first time and had some great little sandwiches! Plus, they actually have meat on them, not like most sandwich joints. I grabbed an apple pie to go, and it was delicious! So moist and sweet!

  • Peter T.

This kind of shop is a dying breed...and one I regularly support. Locally owned and operated, freshly made everything, 97% recyclable business. Sandwiches are portion strong, fully customized and they sell great natural sodas. Soup is off the hook delicious. Price is spot on. And free wi-fi is a plus, too.

My office has ordered from here a few times. The food is delicious, well-priced, and well-portioned. Delicious sandwiches and amazing soups. The staff is super cute too - always a plus.

You just don't find many places like this! A great local family run place with great sandwhiches on fresh bread, quality ingredients and selection, homemade soups, amazing quiches, baked goods, pies, and ice cream. My wife and I stopped by with our kids and quickly got to chatting with the owners. This is a very family friendly place! Prices are more than fair, and you couldn't ask for a more welcoming environment. And did I mention the amazing quiches? Usually a meat and vegetarian option on quiches, also have gluten free bread for sandwhiches if that's your thing!
