We ate at the bar area and the design was cool! The food took a while. They advertise to use local and organic products and to cook everything from scratch, not using fryer nor microwave. The food was pricey! My husband had the leg of lamb with polenta and It was very good he said. My scallops were small and overcooked, i picked risotto as a starch with it and it was nothing great. The scallop dish pieces didn't work together for me. And for the price of $33, I expected them to be big and not chewy. Would not go back, there are better priced places with really great food.

Just about average. Diffident staff. Food was ok. I had the duck confit served over an odd "cassoulet" which was more undercooked white beans and random green vegetables than cassoulet. We didn't stay for dessert and certainly didn't feel welcome. No big deal as the food wasn't worth a return visit.

This place was amazing! Definitely the best mussels I've ever had. The crab stuffed sole was also delicious. I almost went with their buffalo shank with marrow but I had beef ribs for lunch and even I can have too much red meat. The waiter was well informed and the ambience was cozy and romatic, with views of the snow lined courtyard I can see why this place has remained popular so long.

I ate here twice on our recent trip to Colorado. The first time was during Happy Hour in the Bar. I had two small plates and a nice glass of Valpolicella. The Bartender (Tao) suggested the Steak Skewer with Demi Glace & Soft Polenta and the Mushroom Strudel with Champagne Butter Sauce. Both items were great and convinced me that this would be a perfect place for Diane's Birthday Dinner the next night. We showed up early for our reservation the next night, but they seated us without a problem. Our Server was Tao from the night before. He was amazing! Remembering my girlfriend's name and that it was her birthday, he made her feel special the entire night! Everything we had, from soup to salads to our entrees was fantastic. The Highlights were a Roasted Pear, Fig and Fennel Salad with Candied Pecans and Chèvre, over Fresh Greens with House Dressing, A classic Minestrone Soup, a simple Pan Seared, Flour-Dredged Chicken Breast with Portobello, Spinach and Marinara and a meltingly tender Braised Beef Short Rib. As I've stated before, service was impeccable and they are wheelchair accessible. Vinny's will be a Frisco must do for us any time we are in the area!

Service and atmosphere were excellent. The pasta and mussels were really tasty though a little bit too buried in sauce. Definitely a full plate of food!

Really good food and service! Wish it was nice so we could've made use of their patio. Their garlic mushroom soup was to die for!

The Holy Grail of Chicken Parmesan has been found!! I can honestly say it was the largest portion of chic parm i have ever seen and it was cooked to perfection! It was outstanding! 5 of us had dinner here last friday night and everyone loved their food. Everyone had leftovers to take home for lunch the next day. My gf ordered the Lobster Manicotti which was very good. I would probably order this next time i'm there if the Chic Parm wasn't so damn good. My only complaint is that service was so-so. The waiter was very nice and new the menu, but service was pretty slow and i had to ask for a beer 3 times (literally) before he remembered to bring it out. I think if the wait staff was better here this place would have a much better Yelp rating. The food is so excellent though that it more than makes up for the mediocre service. A must try if your visiting the area. Food: 5 stars Service: 3 stars

I was a repeat customer tonight and ordered the pear salad as a starter. As I almost finished with my salad, I noticed a large green bug crawling across my plate. I was completely disgusted and brought my plate to my waitresses. Her "manager" came out to speak with us and said " it's organic, that's the nature of the beast and it only happens a few times a year". Didn't offer any sort of compensation aside from a free salad. Yay. We said we weren't willing to pay our $9 bar tab but were forced to pay it and of course we didn't want to stay to finish the meal after being treated like that. This is completely unacceptable and I will never go back there. I don't think anyone should visit Vinny's after seeing how they treat a repeat local customer with bugs in their food. Terrible customer experience.

I debated between 4 and 5 stars just because we have only been there this once for lunch. Summer Sunday lunch, beautiful weather. We got a perfect table in the courtyard. Attentive service from the hostess and waiter. Delicious eggplant parmigiana with house salad for $10. The marinara on the eggplant makes me want to come back and have more. Perfectly breaded and fried, medium thick slabs of eggplant medallions. The house salad had such a tasty vinaigrette for a warm summer's day, nice greens and even shaved fennel. The husband had a lunch special chicken cheesesteak with potato salad. Both were not your usual take on it, perfectly seasoned, and interesting. $10. We both want to come back! It was casual today and probably gets a tiny bit more fancy for evening. The floor upstairs to main restaurant was pennies embedded in the floor. Interesting and clean decor.

Found this by reviews and decided to give a try. Had the butternut squash coconut curry soup that was outstanding! Husband scored the buffalo osso bucco and I had beef short ribs. Both were superb. All ingredients seemed very fresh and just-prepared. Service was amiable. Highly recommend this place in Frisco!

Excellent food, excellent service. A hidden gem, not visible from the main drag. We had duck confit, beef tenderloin with polenta, caprese salad, minestrone soup, creme brulé, cherry tart. All very flavorful! We highly enjoyed a nice anniversary dinner, no kids (do not recommend bringing children, this is a nice place) we will return!

Pretty decent find! Came in STARVED & were seated in the bar area immediately. no one else was there aside from us, which is usually a tell-tale sign that you shouldn't eat there- not at all! They had a great Happy Hour Menu!! As per usual, their happy hour ran from 3-5pm. All their plates were for $5, well drinks were $2.50 & a dollar off bottles beer. I had the rigatoni which was fantastic! A nice find for sure.

Vinny's is definitely my favorite restaurant in Summit County. Not once have I been unsatisfied with my food or service. Most recently we went in to celebrate my birthday and I treated myself to a perfect New York Strip, everyone in our party was very happy with the food.

This was the one dinner in Frisco we ate outside of our home and it was a lovely choice. We did go fairly early as we took our almost two year old son with us and he likes to eat with the senior citizens at the early bird special time. The plus side is there was no wait for either a table or our food. Our server was wonderful - really knowledgeable, polite, and quick with the things that were important to use (wine and Ephraim's food, mainly.) I chose to order a soup, salad and starter for my meal instead of a main course and it was definitely enough food, plus I had a lot of variety. I went with the soup of the day; a roasted pear, fig, fennel, candied pecans, and chèvre, salad; and the grilled beef tenderloin with polenta appetizer. They have a reasonable kids menu and crayons for little guys and gals to play with while waiting for the food. We were in and out in about an hour which was perfect for us and while the prices are on the higher end for what we might normally spend when eating out with a toddler I think that they were more than reasonable for eating out in general, especially in the mountains. We would definitely come back for dinner with the whole family or as a date, and I'd even be interested in checking out the bar for happy hour as the atmosphere looked warm and welcoming.

I came here with a group of 6 and we sat in the main room, which was warm, buzzing with activity, and a bit smoky from the grilling and cooking. The servers seemed a bit overwhelmed but they were helpful and they knew their menu very well, even the wine list. Before the meal we had tasty salads (mine was a pear salad), good bread, and a rich locally-imported Spanish wine. My main dish, which a friend also ordered, was a short rib with polenta in a delicious sauce. This was perhaps the biggest short rib I've ever eaten in my life, it was steak-sized, and incredibly tender and delicious. I think it was the special of the day, but I highly recommend it. I would be happy to come back here next time I'm in Frisco.

Horrible unfriendly waitress who was totally short with me when I asked a question about salad sizes. Didn't even mention beer on tap or daily special. DO NOT come here hungry, it takes about 45 mins to be served a...salad. soup took about 28 minutes. wat. by the way, what the hell kind of place WARNS you "the kitchen is small, so the wait for food is long!" W-T-F. how is that an excuse?? much less i could not believe she even told us that, Gordon Ramsay would be shaking his head so hard. everyone else got served bread as they waited, we didn't. we had to ask for...pretzels... wine pours are WEAK, come on. 5 fries with the burger, for real??? seriously a huge let down, go to Prost for YUMMY food, pass on this pretentious place.

A group of six were accommodated and taken care of on a Friday night. A few memorable moments: the server recited every detail of the specials to make our mouths water, 5 out of the 6 ordered specials and were incredibly impressed, the hostess/owner was helpful, and the bar space was lively yet intimate. Highly recommended when you are in Frisco!

We loved Vinny's! As others have mentioned, there is a lot to love! First, I dare you to try to count the pennies that make up the floor tiles. The do-gooder elementary school principal in me felt a little like a law breaker sitting atop so many pennies, but it made for a fun twist in an otherwise quirky but cozy decor scheme. Next, our server was incredible. He explained each dish perfectly and was enthused to dish (See what I did there?) about the ingredients in each menu item. Also, the food was all fabulous, from the curry soup to the vegan entree my hubs had to my very meaty bolognese sauce (Maybe my favorite ever)! Vinny's is a fun find with well-crafted food in a great location on Main.

If you want your food slathered in sauce & cheese, this is the place for you! Service was good, food was fine, risotto was undercooked. Maybe I didn't have a specialty, but disappointed.

Best Happy Hour Around ( even if it's a bit early @ 3-5 ). Good wine choices, $2.50 well drinks. The star of the happy hour is the food! $5.00 plates of wonderful food.. We do dinner this way and love the atmosphere!

One of my favorites in the county. I typically eat at the bar, as the menu is more affordable than the main dining room. Good beers on tap and a little bit of something for everybody on the menu.

By far one of the best restaurants in the county! Farm to table, fresh and delicious food every time. The rigatoni with fennel sausage rose sauce is my go-to staple, and the short ribs when I'm splurging on myself! I very highly suggest you stop by, especially during happy hour if you can.

What a lovely place, ambiance and atmosphere. This was the best meal of our two week trip. Our waiter was excellent and really helped us with our choices. The food was perfect. It was just a great meal and evening - we will come again.

Loved this place! Great food, service, location. Entrees range from $20-40 each, had a meal with two beers, two entrees and an appetizer for ~$80 (including tip). Great value for the price. Best food I've had in a long time!

This review is for Vinny. Your Yelp reviews are very enthusiastic, but really, on our first and likely only visit, we found an understaffed restaurant, dreary uninspired and tired decor. Our server was overwhelmed, the only one in the Pub area. On a midweek evening in August we waited unreasonably long for both drinks and food service. A VERY SAD Caeser salad displayed the kitchen's indifference to fresh, quality ingredients. The Romaine was 50 per cent ribs, the rest was pale and limp. Kudos on the mussels though, punchy flavor but way too much red sauce. The vegetarian lasagna was pretty good, the accompanying vegetables were overcooked from waiting on the stream table I'd guess. And really Vinny, the bread? A shameful imitation of Wonder Bread. There's no excuse for bad bread, especially in a self-described Italian/Frech/European restaurant. I recommend a trip to Italy very soon for a refresher course in good bread.

I was traveling for a conference with a party of 4. We tried many Frisco restaurants and hadn't found anything that really stood out - that is until we went to Vinny's for lunch on our last day. We discovered that Vinny's is the type of restaurant where the food is so good you want to keep eating beyond being full. In fact, we returned for dinner the very same day. For lunch I started with the spinach salad. It had thick pieces of freshly cooked bacon and just the right amount of dressing. My main course was the Rigatoni and fennel sausage. We ate at Vinny's large outdoor area. Upon returning for dinner the staff recognized us and welcomed us back. We ate indoors this time. The restaurant had a very pleasant interior and a cozy ambience. I had the roasted pair and mixed greens salad with their special entree of short rib braised beef with polenta and mixed vegetables. The meat was decadently good! Rich and flavorful and it melted in my mouth. I ended the meal with Jeff's Chai Latte. I wish we would have discovered Vinny's sooner. It is wonderful cuisine and a family-owned restaurant. The red-headed hostess is the co-owner and she made us feel as if we were guests coming into her house. Overall, excellent food, great ambience and wonderful dining experience.

I made reservations here two weeks in advance, after reading on their website they have two seatings, I chose the earlier time because I have a 1 year old who goes to bed early. When I made the reservations I told them 2 adults and a highchair. When I arrived, the hostess showed us to our table, it was an elevated booth with no where to put a high chair. I said "we can't sit here, there is no where for a high chair", she was extremely rude to us and told us this was the only table we could sit at. I looked around and the entire restaurant was empty except a large table with 3 kids sitting at it. She said "there just wasn't anywhere else to sit us" and looked at us like she expected us to leave. I told her "that wasn't acceptable and we had made reservations which clearly stated 2 + a highchair". I told her we could easily sit an any of the other two person tables and pull a highchair up to it, after making such a scene she finally gave in and sat us. My husband and I travel often and know that our daughter is extremely well behaved and a very good eater, if this were not the case I wouldn't have made reservations here knowing it was a nicer restaurant. Our waiter was extremely accommodating and did an excellent job, the food was OK. My husband enjoyed his bison steak, but my lobster manicotti was swimming in so too much sauce and not enough lobster. Overall our experience with this restaurant was ruined by the hostess, who I later found out was the owners wife. You would think she would care more about her customers, especially for a couple who are going to come in order lots and eat quick. We easily dropped $100 in an hour, that is easy business for them, but unfortunately we will not be returning.

This place was great! Ambiance, menu, service, everything. This place is right on Main Street in downtown Frisco, and had a nice vibe. They seemed to be sustainability-oriented, and all of their ingredients seemed to be fresh and made in-house. There was a "dining area" where there were tables with white tablecloths, but we sat in the bar area which was more casual and very cool. I had a cup of the roasted mushroom and roasted garlic soup to start, which was delicious and made me wish I had ordered a whole bowl. As my entree, I had the seared tofu, which was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. My friends got two of the specials (a skirt steak and a pastry puff chicken thing) and were very satisfied. We ended up getting dessert, too - I had the mango sorbet (delicious, and a surprisingly large portion), and my friends had the chocolate torte and the vanilla bean creme brulee (a special). The service was great. I had a tomato wedge with my meal that still had a sticker on it, they were out of the raspberry sorbet I originally ordered, and they didn't have any non-dairy milks for my homemade chai latte, so our server (Jonah) gave me the tea for free. He was attentive the whole time with drinks, and apologized genuinely when our food was delayed a bit due to a busy kitchen. He did pretty much everything right. Overall, I'd highly recommend it! I only wish it were in Seattle so I could come back.

Full Disclosure: 1. Best food in Frisco. Vinny is an amazing Chef. 2. WORST WORST WORST Front House ever....they belong on Restaurant Impossible. o Like many busy nights in Frisco, you walk in (even the locals); the staff looks at you like they are 13 year olds who hate your guts. Eyes rolling at you, "were busy, it will be awhile". No smile what so ever. NO offer to get you a drink. It is basically like please get the F out of here. So we walk out, and go to a place down the street, Fifth Avenue Grill. Neil, the GM is who Vinny's needs. They are completely slammed like Vinny's and his first words are, "hi, how are you?" It is a nice welcome. They want you to come in. Would you like a table? It will be about 20 minutes? Please have a drink while you wait. Why can't Vinny's master this? Most of the staff at Vinny's is completely rude when they are busy...this is putting it lightly. Why can't they put more people on to manage on the weekends? When it is slammed, why don't they lock the bar outside door and have everyone enter in one entrance? And then maybe hire a nice greeter? It is just sad that the back of the house is so incredible and the front is such a mess....this isn't new; it has been going on a while, just getting worse. But, you know, you can't keep treating local customers like crap and keep them around no matter how good your food is. But that must be o.k. with this place, keep get the tourists coming in (no need to have to prove yourself to a frist time and maybe only time customer) and who cares about locals-maybe more money comes in from tourism. This place really needs to change their attitude, or at least hire some good managers like Neil at Fifth Avenue. Just a real bummer.

Great service. An exquisite family run bistro with a variety of menu items. My wife's vegetarian dish was impressive in quality as well as presentation as was my Pasta Bolognese. Good portion size. Oh, and the waiter's knowledge of ingredients and preparation of menu items was impressive.

We happened upon this place when strolling past and were delighted that we stopped eat here. This was the best meal that I've had in a long time...out server was knowledgeable of the menu, friendly and talkative and the chef outstanding! I would recommend Vinny's to anybody who loves food.

This place was great!! Stopped in after a day of hiking and nothing disappointed. Ordered the eggplant tower, grilled tenderloin skewers with polenta and the lobster manicotti. OMG!!!! The only thing I wish was different--- happy hour. Ends at 5 :/

This is as good as it gets to fresh food. If you are looking for true organic prepared meals, look no further. Prices match quality. Vinnys does not have a microwave or a frier, so they can guarantee fresh meals every time. Service was good and I could tell that everyone working there truly cared about the restaurant. A great formal dining establishment.

  • Teresa K.

Vinny's food is outstanding, although the wait staff and hostess were a wee bit snobby. The food is above reproach, really fresh and organic ingredients are used in almost everything. Service was leisurely. The prices are about right for the food quality you receive at Vinny's.

If Euro-Amercan Cuisine is code for pricey - THIS is the place A Saturday night in Frisco offers many choices for an evening meal. Walking by Vinny's at lunch we happened along the menu at this local eatery so we decided to give it a go for dinner. Once seated in this hot stuffy restaurant the waiter was a little delayed greeting us and took even longer to take our cocktail order. The two well drinks were ordered and we waited some more. He served us and promised to return to convey the days specials, and left again so we could think them over. And we waited. Before he returned, someone was kind enough to bring us four tiny pieces of bread that was very fresh and tasty. My partner started with a bowl of the coconut, curry squash soup. He did eat the whole thing even though there was not a good balance of flavors. I had the roasted pear, fig and fennel salad. The goat cheese and reduction dressing gave it a great blend. My partner ordered one of the specials crab stuffed trout served over a creamy polenta. Very nice. I had their specialty dish, duck leg confit with a pan seared duck breast. Really tasty and tender. This delightful dish was served over a poorly seasoned oddly textured white bean cassoulet. Sad. We did bring that to the attention of our server and did offer another side but due to the time this meal had taken, decided against. We skipped dessert and asked for the check. Maybe if I stop in at Vinnys again it will be a better day.

First I have to admit a slight bias, having studied abroad in Southern Italy, extensively traveled Italy, and having Sicilian born grandparents I'm picky about Italian food. Don't expect this place to be "the best Italian food you've ever had". That's not the point. They even say they're "Euro, American" cuisine which is spot on! Linguine and clams with Jalapeños in the sauce? Definitely an American twist and definitely delicious. I had a Salmon dish which was some of the freshest salmon I've ever had. During the meal my family was passing the plates around and we all tried each other's dishes and enjoyed a bottle of wine, that's what really counts. Would certainly come here again. Great service to top everything off!

This is a Frisco must. Ate here last year and loved it. Now here for the second time this week. Wonderful food, excellent wine list, superb knowledgeable server. I discovered this place on yelp. It's a little out of the way, being on the second floor towards the back, but once you find it you'll be glad you did.

Great food, high prices. This is not a $$ but more a $$$ or $$$$ with entree prices from $19 to $37. Food was delicious, though rather plain. i ordered the lamp shank with a glaze and it came with steamed vegetables...for the price I would of expected a more complex sauce and more creativity / effort on the part of the chef.

The food was pretty good, spinach salad ehhh good, but it was just reaaallllyy slow. By the time my entree came my stomach had contracted and I wasn't even that hungry anymore. Also pretty pricey, but you know that going in. Overall food was good but I wouldn't say spectacular for the price. And just don't go in needing anything (even bread) right away. Expect a leisurely dining.

Like many reviews we were expecting a typical pizzeria but it was anything but that. The food was DELICIOUS! We had the pork tenderloin, the mussels and the lamb chops. All were wonderful!! The atmosphere in the dining room was very relaxed and intimate. They also have a bar if your looking for a little more louder environment. They have very god dishes and the staff is very friendly. You must eat here!

Outstanding "pub" experience with $5 small plates that were absolutely delicious! We found ourselves in Frisco driving back from skiing and hungry at the odd eating hour of 3 pm. I am so glad we did. Would love to come back for full dinner menu some day.

We went on a Sunday night so the restaurant wasn't busy. After reading all the reviews about service, I was prepared for the worst, but everything was timed perfectly. The mussels were very flavorful and almost could be an entree with some bread. Short rib was moist and tender but the pork tenderloin had everything from medium rare to well done on one plate. If you complain about amount of food to price ratio then you should go to Carls Jr instead of dining here. Will be back next time we're in town.

For dinner, I started with the crab cakes and she with the smoked salmon... both were fabulous but the portion size on the salmon was too much - and when you cook like Vinny it's concerning only because diners never get to fully enjoy the main! The entrees were perfect. Steak medallions for her and I had lobster manicotti. No criticism for either dish... I tasted both and they were spot on. We are planning another long weekend in Frisco specifically for another meal at Vinny's - we live in Denver, but it's worth the trip. No joke, it really is that good.

Had the best dinner in Frisco. Way out did the food. Even the small portions were excellent. Big Shoutout to Casey the bartender, he makes a mean chocolate martini - take it as a small shot for desert, way way good!

Delicious & fresh. We came for lunch and had chicken parmesan, falafel, potato salad. The food was terrific. The wait staff was warm and welcoming. I would warn that the service is leisurely. Skip if you're in a hurry or order an appetizer if you're starving. Otherwise, sit back, relax, order a drink and enjoy and great meal in a beautiful setting.

This was a great dinner spot in Frisco. Very seldom would I ever give out a 5-star rating. I reserve 4 stars for very solid dining, food, and experience. So I would certainly recommend Vinny's. We ate out in the courtyard...great atmosphere, perfect temperature, wonderful way to close the day. Our server, Eli, was very helpful and attentive. The food, which is local and organic, was delicious--well plated, and served at a good temperature. It took a little while to get the food, but that's OK, since the food is not frozen food that is simply reheated or kept under a heating lamp. We wrapped up with a gluten-free chocolate tort, which satisfied our dark chocolate craving. If you're looking for a fine dining experience, give Vinny's a try.

I went with my wife for a nice evening. I asked for a few recommendations from the waitress but she kept saying it just depends on what kind of person you are and how you feel. Ok? I decided to have the Ribeye. I was served a Ny Strip. I looked at the meal and asked is this your Ribeye? She explained absolutely. Knowing I would get no where with her I asked a waiter passing by if he honestly thought this was a ribeye? He said no it's not and that they change it to a Ny Strip when they run out of Ribeye. I asked if they notify the guest and he said no. Between the waitress and the caviler attitude I would not recommend this place. The little I ate of the stand in Ny Strip was mediocre.

We had a reservation at 8 for a special event which I told the hosteds about. She was extremely rude by telling us that our table won't be ready on time and didn't even apologize. The night was ruined, but we went someoplace else and didn't regret. Vinnys was kind of dark, crowded abd dirty anyways and didn't look like a restaurant for a special night anyways.

  • Corinne H.

The food was decent, good portion sizes, and ok prices for a tourist town, but the service left a lot to be desired. We had a nine person party and the wait staff couldn't deal. Our drinks were always empty. After getting served our entrees one member who ordered a salad realized the salad was dressing-less and had to wait until everyone else was finished before someone brought dressing, after asking two different wait staff. One waiter went so far as to say it was a long walk to the kitchen and she would have to wait. We also had to ask three different times to get the appropriate number of leftover boxes. Because the waitress didn't want to "waste" them on us. Overall, mediocre experience.

This is my favorite place to eat in Frisco, hands down. The food is so fresh and delicious, plus it's ethically farmed. The service has always been great. The ambiance is dimly lit and romantic. And it's tucked away positioning tends to give it a less hectic scene then a lot of main street Frisco. Every. Single. Thing. On this menu is great. I've been here several times with big groups and no one has ever had a complained. I go back every time the opportunity arises.

The staff are friendly and accommodating. At least they were when I dine there on a Saturday night in Feb. The food was great! The menu appears to cater to seasonal products. Which is nice. The only negative thing I would say about the menu is why offer NZ lamb when Colorado lamb is so much closer and most likely fresher. oh they do have a few veggie options as well. Overall the experience was top-notch. I would highly recommend this place if you are in Frisco. It is casual but a good casual. The food is definitely not CASUAL. Recommend making a reservation if you are going on a weekend night / evening during peak ski season.

Good happy hour, great full service dining room. The beef tips, chicken parm, steak sandwich, rigatoni, and a fine rotation of on tap beers. The staff are friendly and professional, I eat here frequently and am pleasantly surprised every time I stray from my usual choices. The food is always fresh and locally sourced when possible. And.... they grind the meats for their tasty meatballs on site, which is totally cool.

Went for Dinner with two companions about 7pm on Sunday. No reservations but they were able to seat us in about 15 min. Our Server was exceptional with a great knowledge of wine and the specials. He offered us many choices of each and was up front about the cost [something I appreciate and is somewhat rare]. When they were out of a bottle of wine we ordered he brought 3 subs to the table and explained each one in depth. We ordered the ''mussels Portugal'' which were at his suggestion and they were great. We each had one of 4 specials; Buffalo, Skirt Steak and Chicken stuffed with goat cheese, truffles and ham. Place is not cheap but food and [especially] the service were extremely good. One note, it is a little hard to find as it is upstairs and towards the back of the courtyard. There are two entrances; one for the dinning room and another for the bar.

I am writing this review 5 months after my family's visit to Vinny's. I recently related my experience at the restaurant to a colleague. He was so frustrated listening to the story that he said I have an obligation to share it with potential patrons. My wife and two young children (4 and 2) were staying in Frisco in late January for some skiing, tubing, etc... On our last night we decided to try Vinny's. We made reservations around 7:30 and were promptly seated upon arrival. The dining room was busy. Our waiter was friendly and got our drinks rather quickly and brought out bread about 15 minutes later. Once we put in our orders it was about 40 minutes before our food arrived. However, before the food arrived there was an incident. My four year old son was rather quietly entertaining himself with a "tent menu". He was not being rowdy nor destructive with it. But he did accidentally knock it to the floor once. After doing so an employee at the restaurant walked by and picked the menu up and began walking away. I got her attention,"Excuse me, miss?" She turned around. "My son was playing with that." She responded curtly, "It's not a toy." And walked away setting the menu on a shelf near the waiter station. My son was confused and cried briefly until we calmed him down. My wife and I exchanged bemused looks at her response. Our boys were exhausted but were behaving quietly. So we brought our waiter over and explained the interaction. He was nonplussed and mentioned that she was the owner's wife. "What do you want me to do?" he said. "Please talk with her," I replied. "Do you think that is appropriate behavior toward customers?" He shrugged and walked away. At this point, I retrieved the menu from the shelf and returned it to my son so he could resume quietly playing. Vinny's wife walked by, noticed he had the menu, gave me an incredulous look, rolled her eyes, and loudly sighed. She then returned to the kitchen. I was admittedly angry at this point. As our food arrived at the table, I told the winter to please wrap it up and that we would be leaving. He asked why. I explained. I waited for Vinny's wife outside of the kitchen entrance and when she came out I asked her what her problem was. She was caught of guard. I will not go into the details of the ensuing conversation (argument). But it was not pleasant, she was unapologetic, my wife and I were very upset. We were all hungry, so we didn't want to leave without our food. Vinny's wife begrudgingly took the appetizers off our check but we paid for everything else. For Vinny's sake, I hope this was not something that has happened more than once. My family will certainly not return to any place of business where we are treated with blatant disrespect. This was not a family friendly experience in our case and I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO ANYONE due to our experience.

Swell food, and service. Vinnie knows good eats, and the portions are large. The bread pudding and chocolate decadence are killer. We had a group of five, and everyone gave Vinny the thumbs up

My wife and I dinned here when in Colorado last year on a snow boarding trip, I forgot to finish the review at that time. Here is the deal, this place was unforgettable. The service was impeccable. This place is good, especially after a long day at the slope with crowds and kids everywhere. They offer a nice dinning experience in the middle of the Rockey Mountains. Service was awesome, menu was unique with a variety of traditional Italian items. We had a late lunch there the first day and decided to return the following evening for dinner. The lunch was good and at a good price, especially when compared to resort food, no comparison, hands down much better. I had the minestrone and a sandwich, my wife had a pasta dish, everything was excellent. For dinner she had a different pasta dish and I had gnocchi. Both of us loved our dish (and I enjoyed her left overs later that night :-) We will return there during our next visit to the area...

Came by this place looking for a quiet lunch. Everywhere else was noisy, even later for lunch. Thought it was a sandwich shop with outside seating but it was far more than that, very nice food, service and wine list. I'd go back for dinner, both our lunches were very good, tasty soup and flavorful entree.

We stumbled upon Vinny's just by chance and were pleasantly surprised. We chose to eat in the bar where they offer a lighter menu. They started with warm, crispy bread accompanied by oil and vinegar for dipping. I had the turkey burger and it was, honestly, the best turkey burger I have ever had. My husband said his hamburger was great. Each of our burgers came with delicious roasted potatoes. The wait staff was pleasant and attentive. Next time we come to Frisco we plan on eating in the dining room as the selections sounded wonderful.

Vinny's is a great place to get dinner after a night at the slopes. My partner and I ate here in January 2011. Our food was expertly prepared with fantastic ingredients. We chose to eat in the bar so we could watch the Caps/Avalanche game and the service was awesome. Great beer, great food, and great service. The prices are a little high but for what you get it is definately worth it.

Great restaurant. The $5 happy hour small plate menu is truly exceptional.... (the happy hour rigatoni and sausage is a must when we go to vinny's.) My wife loves the lobster manicotti. Everything is always very good from their lighter "red bird" chicken dishes to their specials and even their vegetables and risotto (that come with all entrees) are prepared so nicely that they must be mentioned. Get the white chocolate bread pudding for dessert.

My wife and I love this place. It's not really Italian. They have 2 or 3 Italian dishes which are all great. The also have pork, fish and steak. I think the classify themselves as world cuisine. Great place in Frisco and the prices are pretty good for the area.

This was a find with the help of Yelp. My wife and I were driving up to Frisco for the day, and I turned to her and said "Find us a restaurant in Frisco for lunch." She found Vinny's through Yelp. The inside seating was completely empty when we arrived at 1pm. There were folks sitting outside, but overall, it wasn't busy. The server was unhelpful when asked what was good. Seriously - there must be something that the restaurant is known for? My wife settled on the eggplant parm, which came with a small side salad. I settled on the new england crab cake sandwich, which came with a choice of chips, pasta salad or potato salad. My wife also ordered an Arnold Palmer - half iced tea and half lemonade. Let's get the good out of the way - the eggplant parm is worth driving an hour for. Seriously good - it was nicely breaded and not greasy, and actually tasted of eggplant. It had just enough cheese on it, and a nice basil oil on top that really put it over the top. Definitely recommended. The average - the crab cake inside my sandwich was a little loose, but otherwise tasted good. It had the same cheese and basil oil mix that decorated the top of the eggplant parm, and I would order it again. Downside was the bread - it was obviously from a bag. They need to partner with a local bakery. The bad was everything else. The arnold palmer had hardly any lemonade in it (either that or the lemonade was severely tart). The side salad was bitter and the dressing non-existant, and the potato salad that came with the crab cake sandwich was under-cooked, and didn't taste good. Overall - not the worst I've eaten, but far from the best. There are other places in Frisco that are better (try the Butterhorn just a block away).

I like this bar, the few things I've tried on the menu have been good. I like the small bites option for happy hour, although I wish they had a better beer menu and a better wine deal for HH. The service I've had has been good. The 4/5 stars is because they NEED something to absorb some sound in the bar area it is deafening in there when there are only maybe 10 people in there - we left one night after only one drink because I started getting a headache from the noise. Fix that and I would go a lot more often.

Great bar area! The restaurant itself is a little pricy, however the bar area has a separate menu with great selections. All organic/ no-hormone meats and vegetables, very wholesome ingredients.Their eggplant is to die for!

We had a great meal here on our first night of four in Frisco. Our server, Vonna, was friendly, and attentive. The dinner menu had a lot of choice with fish, chicken, veal, beef, pork, lamb and duck. The appetizers and desserts looked outstanding but we stuck to a salad and dinner for this experience. My ceasar salad was actually outstanding and my wife's roasted pear salad was "delicious". They are very good for kids. They offer any of the entrees in a kid size for $5. This is an outrageous deal. My son had rigatoni with italian sausage in a rose wine sauce. My daughter had clam linguine with white wine garlic sauce. My duck was excellent and her gnocchi was outstanding. The wine list was good with about 10 wines to choose from by the glass. There were about 25 wines by the bottle. My wife and I had two different $9 glasses of wine and loved both. The dining room is small but we had no problem maintaining our privacy on the somewhat slow Sunday night. Our dinner for four came to $92 before the tip. In our mind the meal was well worth it.

Awesome experience at Vinny's. Our waitress Sarah was cordial and very knowledgeable about the menu. The food was amazing and I would definitely put it on list of dining experience to try when in Frisco. We will definitely come back.

Once again, an excellent dinner at Vinny's. This is the finest place to eat in Frisco, right up there with Hearthstone in Breck and Ski Tip in Keystone. The menu is thoughtful, with a commitment to fresh ingredients. The wine list is also well constructed with unique choices. I suppose that service can sometimes be uneven, welcome to Summit County.

Menu offerings were varied and looked excellent. Food was OK; service was not the best - waited over 30 minutes between apps and main course with little attention from the server. Explanation was that the restaurant had been very busy that day - and that is supposed to be the guests' problem? To management's credit, they did discount our bill when I complained. Even though disappointed this trip, the interesting menu may motivate us to return.

Went in based on the reviews. As soon as the server learned we were not drinking alcohol he lost interest. The rest of our dinner felt rushed and the talked about duck was soggy. Will be going across the street to 5th avenue bar and grill on our next visit.

What a surprise! With a name like "Vinny's" and the location that it's in (a mini mall on main street), I expected a little dive/bar type place. Instead I found a lovely, intimate restaurant with top quallity food. My dinner was the sole special with mushrooms and crabmeat...it was fabulous! The only reason that I didn't give the restaurant a 5 star is that several items on the menu were not available. Our waitress, Tracy, was great. Will go back again.

We stumbled across Vinny's by accident, one of the chef's was leaving for the day as we were walking by and said we should come in, we had just eaten, so we stopped by a few days later for lunch. It was a quiet rainy Sunday afternoon when we strolled in, Vinny's isn't the easiest place to find, it is upstairs in the back of the courtyard. The main part of the restaurant was empty, but looked nice, white table clothes, etc. We decided to sit in the bar area, the bar was full of locals chatting away thier holiday weekend. The lunch menu is fairly limited, a few entrees, a few sandwiches and a few starters. I had the Fennel sausage with grilled onions and peppers on ciabatta, it was very good, the sausage had good flavor and a little spice, the onions and peppers were a nice compliment. The ciabatta was a nice touch, but I was happy just eating sausage and veggies. Others in the party had the Eggplant Parmesan and the Chicken Philly sandwich, everyone loved their entrees. They also have a large wine and beer selection. The only downer of the meal, was that they were out of lemon (how do you run out of lemons?) so they offered an orange slice to go with the wheat beer one of our party ordered, the orange slice had seen better days, it looked pretty mangled and dried out. This is another great find here in Frisco, we will be back.

One of the best places to dine in Summit County, CO. Great service, amazing menu and wine list. Stevie "Boston" is an excellent bartender.

Love Vinny's. The chef's really care about their food and it shows it. I have eaten there many times and the food in consistently delicious. Which is a rarity in the mountains. The menu is creative but not too fussy. If you just want to kick back and enjoy a cocktail the wine list is nice and Dave makes a mean martini!

We stopped there for lunch in July 0f 2011. We had a greatr lunch and service all four of us (adults) had diff meals. I had a really good burger, but one friend had the Egg plant parm sandwich. I wish I had orderd it. I had a bite of it and it was wonderful. A dinner of this would be outstanding.

The lunch menu, although not long, had a lot of fresh items that ranged from classic Italian to BBQ. My wife decided on the homemade BBQ sandwich and totally enjoyed the flavorful BBQ, served on a fresh bun with an excellent side salad. I am a Caesar salad follower, and have to admit this was the best Caesar salad that I have had in a long time. I followed it with a rigatoni with what tasted like homemade sweet sausage and a light rose tomato sauce. It was amazingly flavorful and if you like a healthy portion... We would order the same again, and almost did the next day. The wine list, although not extensive, had a varied selection of whites by the glass topped by a Conundrum, which would be great with scallops or lobster. All in all, a positive dining experience. Staff was attentive and even Vinny stopped over to see how we enjoyed our meal. Just think, a great meal on a quite Saturday afternoon. Another positive note for Frisco, Colorado!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
