Had dinner from Foodhedz again last night - one of my favorite restaurants in Summit County. Chef David's specials (often some sort of fish or seafood) are amazing, and the menu changes seasonally. Everything is fresh and made to order - so if something needs to be tweaked (for example, because of a food allergy) - it is generally not a problem. And with a little advance notice, Chef David can sometimes accommodate special requests. Chef David's wife, Patti, holds down the front of the house - and is always pleasant and helpful - whether offering tastings of their soups, or recommending a wine pairing for dinner. Dinner entrees run ~$20-$30, and lunch runs around $10. Some folks say it's a little pricey... but this is not your average "strip mall" restaurant. Frankly, I usually spend a lot more when venturing out for meals in "major" cities - and the food is rarely as fresh or as tasty. And a lot of that goes back to using the best raw ingredients Chef David can get his hands on - and that can't be cheap... especially in the mountains. Foodhedz desserts are not to be missed - for winter 09/10, be sure to try the beignets of fresh berries with homemade toffee crunch ice cream!

Fresh, well prepared food. Linger with the beer or wine of your choice, or spend a quick 30 minutes like we did at our most recent visit, and get back in your car with a "doggy bag" because the portions are ample. I took the simple route -- split pea soup ( with the perfect slightly chunky texture... and where else can you get homemade split pea soup in July) and a lovely green salad. My husband went for the lunch special ( which I picked at..) a deliciously seasoned sirloin steak. We love a cold IPA, which was served in a cold glass. We have to come back just for dessert. Keep up the wonderful work.

I've eaten here a couple of times now, most recently yesterday. It was my first time for lunch and I was amazed at how fast the service was. Normally for dinner you have to go expecting a wait (or send your parents ahead of time and have them wait for you!) We put in our orders immediately and we probably waited 7 minutes total for our lunches to come out of the kitchen. I had the daily special, a tandoor chicken served over cherry-curry rice. The dish was a tad sweet for me, I was expecting a sour cherry, but it was well designed and worked well. My date had the chile relleno and it was spectacular. It was served with over posole with both green and red chilies. I definitely wished I had ordered it. The chef ran the Ranch at Keystone for a while before deciding to go it alone, now he and his wife run Foodhedz. Their menu is changing constantly, and the dishes are very local and very seasonal. I definitely recommend this place to anyone up in the mountains. We have never been disappointed here. Lunch ran $10 a plate, and dinner is around $20. Very nice wine selection and reasonable prices on the bottles. Definitely a good date place, although remember, you will wait for dinner.

You'd have to be a local (or a Yelper) to find this place. What a gem! Ignore the location and exterior, neither of which is worth writing about -- step inside and be wowed by superbly fresh food seasoned/cooked to perfection, accompanied by low-key yet genuinely friendly service. It's like eating in a friend's home who happens to be a gourmet chef. Save room for dessert, too. If berry beignets with homemade Toffee Crunch ice cream is on the menu, go for it.

From our group "The Reuben was the best I ever had! Fresh and high quality." "Croissant with turkey and fontina cheese was superb, as were the tempura vegetables". The service was genuinely friendly and helpful, they love it there too! We were driving from The Denver airport to Moab, and this was the ideal stop. Only one hour outside of Denver. Surprisingly extensive wine and beer list! We were all very pleased.

Awesome food modeled on a simple menu at reasonable prices. What more could you want? It's right next door to the Super WalMart and was quick, easy and tastey!

Ah, The Foodhedz World Cafe.... "where thailand meets the heartland"...what a great place to meet with friends and have an incredible meal! Or you can go alone just to have coffee and dessert. Or write in your journal while sipping wine, confident that there's absolutely nothing on tv so why stay at home? (and not go broke or have to dress up, but then again, it is a ski resort area so 1 out of 2 aint bad) Patti and Chef David are the owners...and 'feeding the people' has been their mantra in Summit County for years. That's just what they do: where else in summit county can you get a gourmet meal at a decent price? It seems like a gourmet's cafeteria of sorts; there are no servers (but they will deliver your food if they aren't too busy), (but they are almost always jammed, so come early, come late, as Patti sez) so you order and pay at the register. Then take a huge slab of Chef's freshly baked bread and wine/salad/soup/whatever to a table to await your fabulous lunch or dinner. It's a small warm little place, in the middle of a strip, between safeway and walmart, so you'd never normally expect to find food of this caliber there....and sorry, no valet parking LOL! I love this place and the people who go there...lots of locals are mixed in with tourists...because we know that food like this is hard to find in our own kitchens: lobster macaroni and cheese, fresh fish from hawaii, homemade carrot-ginger soup, and on and on and on....Only one Caution: they are closed on sunday and monday, which i think is great for them, (I mean this is no "chain" kinda place) these people work hard and they deserve more than 2 days off....oh well, I guess I could heat something up at home while I wait for Tuesday.....

FAB to have such a terrific place to eat a high quality meal up in the mountains! We've been to Food Hedz on several occasions - but just brought my folks there when they came out from Florida to visit this weekend. They agree- the food, and the owners/staff - are fabulous. I'm fairly sure that the menu changes seasonally - since the rich but delicious Lobster Mac & Cheese wasn't on the Summer menu... I had the Scallops - which they were nice enough to make without dairy (what service!) And hubby had the Halibut which was delightful. Highly recommended!

Amazing!!! I was in Frisco for a week and someone recommended this restaurant. I had their salmon and my friend had their lamb. Other dished were soo flavorful and healthy. Both meals also came with soup and homemade bread. We did carry out and the staff was so nice and friendly. I was VERY impressed by this little place. I would definitely go there again.

This is my favorite place to eat in Summit County. The food is fabulous and worth every penny. The owners and staff are friendly and extremely helpful. It is difficult to find a restaurant in Summit County with consistent quality. I have never had a bad meal here. If you are in town don't miss these guys!

Delicious had the special slightly abridged. Beef tenderloin cooked perfectly with a burgundy sauce along with a risotto Maine lobster and shrimp. Pseudo surf and turf. Would not expect this quality of food in this location. Highly recommend

Excellent! What an amazing culinary treat in a strange location. You are in a Walmart strip mall and it looks like nothing on the outside. Inside is warm, cozy, organic, fresh and delicious. We loved everything we ate and enjoyed the personable service.

Yes, it's all that and duck snaps. Artichoke and roasted corn was da bomb. The Red Bird was good but not really "ooh la la". Believe it or not I've had better sweet potato gnocchi. This one was a bit doughy for my liking. The thing that makes this place over the top, is that it's really good food without the pretense. Chef David is approachable. I love to eat where people love to cook.

Excellent food sourced locally or from sustainable sources when possible. What I liked the best was the sauces while very tasteful where not very heavy and overwhelming (in my opinion most good restaurants these days over do the sauces to a point that you can't even taste what you are eating but just the sauce!).

This is the kind of restaurant that puts a smile on your face. It's a small place, family run, and you can tell it's a labor of love. The food is solid, from the fresh baked bread to the homemade soups to the surprisingly high quality ingredients in their entrees. They use all locally sourced, sustainable ingredients. Very interesting menu, especially up in a mountain town where expectations are definitely lower. Can't recommend this enough if you are in the area.

We went here based on Yelp reviews. We saw that they didn't take reservations, so we didn't make one. When we got there, the small place was bustling, and there appeared to be a table open, and the waitress told us "it would be a few minutes." This was not the "walk up and pay" procedure described in previous reviews. Well, we waited and waited (and our 2 kids were getting hungry), and still did not get seated. A foursome came in after us and they evidently had been there before and proceeded to do the "walk up and pay" but then they were told to wait too, and they looked a bit surprised. Then a party of about 6 came in after them, and got seated right away. I was getting antsy, and my husband was ready to leave, but I had already set my mind on this place so I commented to the waitress that I thought they didn't take reservations, but she said "we normally don't but for larger parties we do." She then told us that another party was almost done and getting ready to leave so it would be another 10 minutes or so (this was after waiting 20 minutes). We normally don't like our kids with their eyes glued to our phones playing games, but with such a long wait and them being starved, we made an exception that night! Well, all in all, it took about 50 minutes for us to be seated. We put in our order right away - Roasted duck breast for me, NY strip steak for my husband, and an expensive mac 'n cheese for my girls to split. The duck, served over a pomegranate reduction, was tasty, and crispy on the outside. The steak was perfectly done and also tasty. My girls were less than thrilled with their mac 'n cheese - saying that it didn't taste like anything, and it didn't. I think Olive Garden makes a better cheese sauce. The bread they served was very good however and the salads (house and Caesar) were quite fresh. The portions were large, so we boxed the dinners and tackled dessert - a chocolate terrine, and fruit beignets, both of which were so scrumptious and made dessert the best course out of the whole meal. When the server was boxing up our food, I asked her to get as much sauce from the plate my duck came on as possible, and she was really nice and actually got more sauce to put in the container. Well, I guess the food was meant to be eaten that same day, b/c it was not very good as leftovers. The duck was chewy and dry (the yummy sauce couldn't save it), and the mac 'n cheese separated into gooey pasta and oil. I would say the most memorable things about this place were the bread and desserts. The wait, and the prices were also memorable, but not in a good way. We give it 3 stars b/c we won't come back.

Good stuff - scratch made food, interesting menu choices, friendly service. The only real knocks were that the locaiton is in a strip mall and that the prices are a bit high, but I expect that since you are in a tourist area.

Hidden in a store front/stripmall this little eatery is second to none in the area. If you want fine dinning with a more relaxed approach this is the place. I had the duck and it was pretty good. The soups here are the best in summit county. I gave them a 4 because I rarely give out 5s.

This is a real find- not a strip mall place. Delicious, fresh, subtle - plus amazing soups. Organic wines. And they'll customize for kids to make sure everyone happy. Down to earth yet very professional and efficient staff make it a pleasure every time.

We stopped in at Foodhedz for lunch on our way home from the mountains, and it is every bit as good as all the Yelp reviews had promised. My husband and I had the old fashion fish fry - wonderful fresh Alaskan cod very lightly breaded and fried, and we both loved it. Our guest ordered the Reuben, and it looked so yummy I had to beg her for a bite. The corned beef on the Reuben was unbelievably tender and the sandwich was one of the best Reubens I have ever tasted. I can tell this is going to be a regular stop for us when we are out near Frisco. Look for the Walmart...its in that shopping center and as others have mentioned it just says "Cafe" on the outside, so it could be easy to miss.

After reading reviews, we were excited so to try this place. How sad that feeling wore off quickly...I ordered the ham and white bean soup--it was bland. My husband ordered a salad...I love oil and vinegar as a dressing, but whatever was in the dressing was super-acidic, he would not eat any of it after a bite or two. I ordered the duck, which also came out with a steak knife...for good reason--it was too tough to cut with a normal knife. It also tasted like turkey. I've had fabulous duck before, this really missed the mark. My husband ordered the pork chop--it was very dry!! :-( We were hoping the beignets would save the day--they did not. The berries in the minuscule 3 donuts were exceedingly tart. I'm from So Cal and have been to very fine restaurants so I'm not sure if I have higher expectations than other ppl who frequent here, but I would not recommend this restaurant and it was embarrassing that our friends visiting us also had to endure similar findings and pay through the nose for mediocre food. On a good note, the service was attentive and the bread was awesome. Though, in my humble opinion, not a good enough reason to ever come back.

In an area of the world where you are surrounded by Brew Pubs with menus that are almost exact carbon copies of each other, FOODHEDZ was major discovery. When my group walked in we were greeted in a very friendly way and made to feel at home. We ordered three dishes total: The Halibut Special, The Pork Loin, and the Summer Veggie Special. All dishes included a choice of three soups or a salad. All three dishes were excellent. The Halibut was some of the best I have ever had outside of Alaska, and the organic baby salad was a perfect match. The Pork was tender and juicy and absolutely fabulous, the Chef substituted layered Yukon gold and Purple potato's for me since I am not a big sweet potato fan. The Chef and entire staff are incredibly approachable about their menu, and Answered every question I had with joy. My wife had the Veggie meal and loved every bite. It is expensive, but it is simply the best food to be had in the Frisco/Dillon/Silverthorne area. Too full for Dessert, but everything we saw go buy was looked stunning. The Meal was worth every penny!!!

This place never fails and never disappoints. I went a few days ago and ordered a salmon dish with a rice paper veggie roll and some other amazing tasty treats like watermelon balls and a diced salad with mango and jalapeno. I feel like I'm a relatively experienced diner and food lover. I used to live in Chicago and traveled around the country and Europe and I find this food holds up to some of the best I have had. Anyone who says the food is bad maybe had a cold, had a bad day, have disabled taste buds, or are just plain grumpy complaining people. They used to make you order at the counter but now they have table service. They also do catering. Yum.

First review ever on Yelp and I couldnt think of a better place to do it on. In times of Natural, Organic, Sustainability, Lical etc. Foodhedz exemplifies all of the above. Everything was fresh and fantastic, I'd eat here ever day if I could...

Food Hedz catered our reception at BlueSky Breckenridge. I was told by several guests "best wedding food I've ever had." They did our cake as well, and it was amazing. Sara is great to work with, responds to questions very quickly by phone or email. Pricing on the food and alcohol was reasonable. Highly recommend!

Chicken salad really wasn't great. Wasn't bad, but not good. Only had a couple cranberries or cherries and it was just very plain. Chicken bites were a bit chewy. Bread was great. Way too pricey for what we got.

I have been enjoying Foodhedz for years and the dishes have always been fresh, varied and consistently delicious. Lunch is a bargain compared to their dinner prices, but you won't leave hungry. Each meal includes fresh baked bread and there are usually two homemade soups. Menus change with the seasons and are a superb example of 'farm-to-table' cuisine. Chef David and his team highlight on the quality of each ingredient. Don't be turned off by the strip-mall exterior nor the simple Café sign out front. The food and service speaks volumes about the passion of this husband and wife operation. The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgable, but it's obvious Foodhedz focuses on delivering out of this world cuisine.

Only open fir lunch 11:00-3:00 Tuesday - Saturday because their catering business is going crazy. For good reason best Reuben ever! The garden perspective was also awesome worth the trip wherever you are.

This is one of my favorite places to eat in the world. The ruben sandwich is not only the best sandwich I have ever eaten, it's also one of the best meals that I have eaten, period. I didn't know that corned beed could be that good. I am disappointed by every other ruben that I try, because it doesn't even come close to Foodhedz. The salmon is always amazing, as is everything that they do. They really care about every dish, every ingredient and every customer. Even the coffee was top notch.

Seems odd to say that a place often open only for lunch in a strip-mall is one of the best restaurants in Frisco but that is very much the case w/Foodheadz wide ranging reasonably priced food and wine menu's are the start but this is genuinely good food in a mountain town, over the hill in Vail they could charge $50+ a plate.

We really enjoyed the fish special ( Alaskan cod) , the delicious cole slaw, and pasta salad. Everything is made from scratch including the tasty warm homemade bread. The service was superb. Jody was our waitress and was very nice and attentive . We saw chef David cooking and his wife Patti went around checking to make sure everyone was enjoying their food.. This is a delightful cafe and we highly recommend it.

Located in a shopping plaza only labeled "Cafe"... This restaurant is one of our favorite places to eat in CO. Right of I-70, it's a quick place to stop for wine/beer, great food and outstanding service. My hubs had a salmon entree with udon and tempura veggies, and I had a shrimp, scallop, crab pasta in this AMAZING spicy marinara. I wanted to bathe in it. Top it with fruit beignets with brittle icecream and caramel, it was a meal to beat. I highly recommend if you're in Frisco or on your way on I-70.

Excellent lunch spot, among the best in Frisco. I would go more often if they were open for dinner regularly and offered the reasonably priced lunch menu in the evenings. The staff and service are warm and friendly and eager to please. The Oaxaca chicken with rice and beans was delicious a right amount of spice. The portion was huge so I had leftovers for the next day. This is one of the better restaurants in Frisco and once you get past the Walmart strip mall location, the interior is well-appointed and comfortable. And they have wifi.

I have walked by this delicious gem of a restaurant countless times and just realized what I have been missing. My boyfriend took me here for lunch yesterday and my taste buds were wowed. The atmosphere is laid back and cozy with mostly locals, a nice change from the crowded tourist attractions of Breckenridge and the surrounding mountain towns. With their ever changing menu that uses local and fresh ingredients, Food Hedz is a place that I will definitely be coming back to. The service was pleasant and efficient and the food and company excellent, making for an all around fantastic dining experience.

I really hated my food here, and that's pretty much what it comes down to. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service was acceptable, if a bit understaffed. The waitress was friendly when she was able to come to our table. If my lunch hadn't been awful, I'd consider coming back. Unfortunately, it was. I had white bean and ham soup that was pretty much flavorless. After a few spoonfuls I added an unhealthy amount of salt and pepper so it would taste like something. I followed it up with a pasta that I thought sounded really interesting on the menu. It had garganelli mixed with gold beets, goat cheese, spinach, arugala, and toasted pecans. I love all those things, but somehow in this dish they came together into a gross mess. I managed to eat maybe 1/5 of it before I had to give up. They tried using goat cheese as the only sauce, but neither it nor the other ingredients were well mixed into the pasta. So most bites either tasted like dry blandness or overpowering goat cheese, which it turns out makes a pretty terrible pasta sauce. They basically took what would have been a nice beet dish or nice pasta dish and merged them into an inedible mess. I passed the dish around the table, but I received back minus a few minimal tastes. No one wanted it. I tried the schnitzel with "natural juices" but the sauce was just lemon on lemon. Foodhedz ended up being an expensive, unpleasant appetizer. I had to go to Wendy's afterwards to actually find something I wanted to eat.

Chef David is awesome! Food is made with love and taste amazing. A little more expensive then other places but I'll pay more money every time for food this good. While my wife was pregnant she lived off the banana bread Carmel and ice cream treat. Sooo good. In my opinion one of the best places to eat in summit county. That's from a 20 year local.

This place was dubed great food at reasonable prices. The green chilie soup was cold and had no spice and rare for a soup no salt . We ordered the roasted chicken an where equally unimpressed . Staff was slammed only 2 people on the floor for 40 people they we in charge of busing ,orders, waters, wine, you felt like when you saw them you had to give them a list of the item your table was missing. Had to walk up to the cash register to pay because we got tired after dinner watching them bus tables and ignore our table. Oh , one other thing, when does 34.00 per entree seem reasnable for a cafe, on benches, without tablecloths? Overall! Very overpriced non impressive food Under staffed I was told it was good when it was a cafeteria. The prices used to be fair. Good luck food hedz you have a lot fo great choices at $$$$

This place is good. I mean, this place is, like, Gordon Ramsay good. They source everything they possibly can locally (Gordon nods in approval) and they make it all from scratch. The many awards on the wall stand as a testament to their culinary prowess. For the Reuben my partner got, we were told the chef corns his own beef (is that the right term? I've been pescatarian for five years and am not really familiar with the corning of meats) and uses his German grandmother's sauerkraut recipe. It was donned the best Reuben my partner said he had ever had. I had an open-face tuna melt that had a truly interesting, unique flavor. OH. And the icing on the cake--I asked the absolutely adorable server (who is wife of the chef) if she could make a peppermint mocha so that I didn't have to go to Starsucks to get my fix. She didn't have peppermint, but she did make me a mocha latte. A few moments later, she was able to scrounge up a mini candy cane, so I used it to stir the latte and I got my peppermint! Man. That's service. The place is entirely unassuming, located next to a Wells Fargo in a parking lot shared with a Walmart. The sign just says "Cafe" and if it weren't for its raving Yelp reviews, I never would have given it a glance. Thank the Flying Spaghetti Monster that we did, because I will make a point to eat here when I'm travelling back from the mountains from now on.

I've looked over the menu for this place a few times over the last couple of years and loved the sound of everything, but my boyfriend and I really enjoy the sit down, service atmosphere when we go out so we've always passed. Today happened to be the kind of day that we didn't feel like anywhere usual sounded good and chose to check it out. Totally fantastic and delicious! I'm told that the table service part is a new addition so we're stoked on that and everything was so so yummy, with quick service but not rushed and really cozy. We got a Reuben, Soup and Salmon... The man and I are pretty experienced foodies and this spot was a fabulous surprise!! We'll be back often!

Love the high quality food and relaxed atmosphere. Owners Chef David and Patti are friendly and genuinely obsessed with delvering great food and service. Mid to upper range pricing reflects the quailty and care that goes into each meal. Don't let the strip mall location fool you. This is a bona fide great restauarant.

Overpriced, bland food. Clam chowder was watery and fishy. Replaced it with a vegetable soup which was average at best. Special of the day was dry stuffed cabbage on a bed of tasteless tomato sauce. Again, nothing to write home about. I could have made every one of these items much better myself for a small fraction of the cost so what's the point of eating them here and paying their inflated prices?

Man, I miss Food Hedz. I moved out of the county recently, but when I come up to visit, I must always eat lunch here. I hear the chef is former resort chef that opened up this place - and it shows! His food is really lovely, with a seasonal, changing menu that is short and sweet. Guaranteed, everything you could order is going to be the best thing you ate in a long time. Last time I was there (fall 2011) I had the reuben sandwich, stacked super high with savory meat, on marbled rye, with a fried pickle on the side and sauerkraut. Yum-my. I just wish I got to go there more often!

Very difficult to find this place. Hint--it's in a strip mall, and the big sign says "Cafe". You really have to be staring straight at the front door to see it...but worth the search! Great food. We had the rolled pork tenderloin. Excellent combination of flavors and textures. Beautiful presentation. Enjoyed both the Ped Cabernet and Mother Clone Zin (The Zin was the better match!) Good Job!

There's a slightly cheeky feel to this place - with it's unassuming storefront and ultra casual ambiance.....yet the FOOD! I've never ever been so overwhelmed by the variety and beauty of each bite I scored off of my family members plates. :)

Unique, foodie restaurant next to Walmart. Superb ingredients, thoughtful preparation and excellent tastes. The price is exorbitant for CO, so they should have better atmosphere, utensils, lighting and seats. Can't use "organic" as an excuse for cutting those costs. Just walk next door to Walmart and buy some some lamps, and a shade for the blinding light from the kitchen, so it doesn't feel like a Chinese all-you-can eat buffet restaurant. Overall, superb.

Went here because to the reviews and ratings. The food was average but for the price, I expected much better. There are several other Frisco restaurants that I would recommend before this one.

We haven't been to Foodhedz in a few years - and I can't imagine why! Everything here is incredible! Foodhedz isn't easy to find, if you are not a local. As you get off I-70 at the Firsco/Breckinridge exit, there is a large shopping center on your right with a Safeway at one end, and a WalMart at the other. Right about in the middle there is a nondescript sign that simply says "Cafe". This is Foodhedz. Every item of food prepared here is a labor of love - this place is run by chef's for foodies. Every item is prepared fresh, to order, except for the three soups made daily. We had the beef and barley soup - definitely not Campbell's! Rich and meaty, with plenty of red wine in the broth, we got the bowl, which is small tureen size. The cup is what I would call a bowl, but with food this good, go for the tureen! Then we split the special of the day, a Cuban sandwich. This was simply the best Cuban sandwich I have ever had. The ham was sightly carmalized, and the pork was incredibly tender - like pork should be, but seldom is. And the size - I don't see how anyone could eat it by themselves! Huge portions seem to be part of the deal here. The little girl at the table next to us has the mac and cheese (not your mother's mac and cheese, but something much richer and rewarding) and it came in a bowl so huge that it barely fit on the table. Even with her mother's help, they were going to take a ton of it home. If you can find this place - definitely check it out - if you like incredible food in ample servings.

I trusted the yelpers who reviewed this place and was really disappointed. 1) After spending loads at Sweet Basil, which was rated one of the best places to eat in America we wanted to not blow so much dough on a meal so we trusted the yelp's 2 $$ rating on Foodhedz cafe. Except the prices were pretty much comparable. And this restaurant is in a strip mall, with counter service, and really if it's going to have an ordering menu of that noodles and company, then I was expecting some damn good food. 2) The ambiance just fails. Even then I didn't care because I thought it had to be about the food. 3)Enter the lobster risotto. Our host raved about the dish and how simply delicious it was - and I reckon it would have been if I loved my food immersed floating in butter. We got the fresh florida mahi mahi with lobster risotto and broccoli. I'll admit the fish was indeed beautifully cooked. But the lobster risotto had cheese in it, and I mean it was mostly cheese than risotto. As for the lobster, it was pretty much rubbery. And I still can't stop talking about that damn risotto, because any cook knows that to get the creamy taste of risotto, you stir and stir it's a labour of love. And this wasn't. 4) The plating, seriously? this if child's play seriously. I realize this is a mom and pop joint, but where the hell do they get the balls to name such prices for such sub-par service, ambiance and food. I was forgiving on the ambiance, the service but the food - just. forget about it. You're better off eating McDee's.

Went for lunch to Food Hedz and I thought the service & the food was absolutely great. Tried the special of the day--beef stroganoff---gigantic sized portion that was really good. Bread to begin the meal was also a highlight---it just tasted so fresh. Next time I'm in town, I'd definitely go here again.

I've eaten at Foodhedz before and have been very satisfied, however something seems to have changed. I went in yesterday for lunch with my Mother and two of my brothers for lunch. I had never tried the Paella until yesterday. I am sorry to report that it was flavorless. The rice had the taste of a boxed converted yellow rice such as an Uncle Ben's. The chicken had the stale flavor that comes from having been cooked well in advance and the seafood items while fresh and properly cooked, had been prepared separately from the chicken and the Andouille Sausage. Paella is a rice dish in which all of the ingredients are cooked together so all the flavors can meld and the herbs and spices serve to unify the dish. none of this was true yesterday and I would advise bypassing it all together. The good news is my mother and brothers were satisfied with their meals but all tasted mine and agreed it was not good. I'm giving Foodhedz 3 stars because everything else was good, the staff friendly and the atmosphere relaxing.

This place is really a hidden gem of Frisco. Normally, mountain food is boring, unimaginative, and blah - or too expensive to be really enjoyable. So how about a place located in a strip mall (right between a Walmart and Safeway) that delivers superior taste and service? My wife and I split two entrees - the special of the day - a red chile tempura fish taco with garden coleslaw and red chile sauce. The "tacos" came on flat fried tortillas, stacked up - tortilla, garden slaw, then lumps of tempura battered fish, then repeat. Red and black tortillas didn't save the taste of the tortilla, but the chili sauce, garden slaw and fish were exceptional. We also got a regular item - a pork loin sandwich, which was served on a brioche roll, with tempura fried onions and sweet potato and another slaw - this one spicy. I could have done with a dipping sauce for the fried veg, but other than that, a very tasty dish. Another bonus, they do french pressed coffee - which is a rarity these days, and to be enjoyed. It's much less bitter than regular drip coffee, but you have to wait a little for it - I won't drink coffee prepared any other way. Top that off with excellent service, and you have a major find.

Picture a small comfortable room that makes you feel like you are at your grandmothers. Add wonderfully prepared meal..whatever you ordered and you have this awesome understated restaurant. Everyone involved is very present and eager to serve. The filet...wow...melt in your mouth. Great tasty rich soups. You won't forget this place and you would pass by it if you saw it in the strip mall. But don't

Great high quality food! This is not your ususal restaurant (e.g. they have interessting way of self ordering before you are seated. You basically get the menu and order before they seat you.) but I found that refeshingly creative. They salad was fresh and had a great basil dressing. The rolled pork tenderlaoin was phantastic. The service great and very friendly!

Hidden in a store front/stripmall this little eatery is second to none in the area. If you want fine dinning with a more relaxed approach this is the place. I had the duck and it was pretty good. The soups here are the best in summit county. I gave them a 4 because I rarely give out 5s.

Yum.

Food Hedz catered our reception at BlueSky Breckenridge. I was told by several guests "best wedding food I've ever had." They did our cake as well, and it was amazing.

Very good lunch- the shrimp and scallops were fresh, spicy, and tasted healthy. The chicken salad was delicious. Both came with fabulous homemade bread. Quick friendly service.

WOW!!! Hard to find, unassuming, but this place will knock your socks off!!!! Very nice and relaxing atmosphere. Owners are the chef and the host. The food is out of this world. Elegant, refreshing, fantastic. Thanks to my parents for finding this gem.

Best lunch deal in Frisco, so fresh and so good. Dinner is a little pricier. Owners and staff are great. Try all the soups. A must go if in the area.

I have walked by this delicious gem of a restaurant countless times and just realized what I have been missing. My boyfriend took me here for lunch yesterday and my taste buds were wowed. The atmosphere is laid back and cozy with mostly locals, a nice change from the crowded tourist attractions of Breckenridge and the surrounding mountain towns. With their ever changing menu that uses local and fresh ingredients, Food Hedz is a place that I will definitely be coming back to. The service was pleasant and efficient and the food and company excellent, making for an all around fantastic dining experience.
