An old-school restaurant in downtown Florence. Our waitress took our drink order and then promptly forgot we were even there. 15 minutes later we finally complained and got someone else to help us. Service was slow and food was not good. I ordered a teriyaki chicken sandwich. This ended up being a completely unseasoned chicken breast (tough and flavorless) on a bun that someone squirted teriyaki sauce on with a piece of canned pineapple. Sandwich, onion rings, and a drink was over $10. Avoid.

We ate there at the recommendation of our hotel manager who told us to expect a hometown restaurant with large portions, and that's exactly what it was. All 4 of us were happy with our meals, and the salad bar for a side salad option was a nice touch. They allow you to order from their breakfast or lunch menu for dinner, so there was a surprisingly big selection. Don't expect anything fancy, but expect a large portion of good hometown food.

The food is ok, we were expecting much different food from some of the reviews. The service is not very prompt or attentive, when you walk in you have no clue what to do and it takes a while for anyone to come and sit you. I would recommend another place if you visit Florence, prices, food and service not at all worth trying again.

We came to Florence for some antiquing and decided to grab some lunch before beginning our adventure. Our experience is rated so low because of the amount of time we waited for our food and how the staff handled the situation. The place had a decent appearance and was limited to one room for seating. It was fairly busy with two servers, but as a previous server myself, it was manageable. The original lady who sat us grabbed our drinks and then another male server took over the table. I could tell because he greeted us by asking what we were drinking and then wrote it down. The menu hardly had any variety, it was your basic country cooking restaurant. We had two burgers and a club. I enjoyed that they had home cooked chips and they were decent. The food in general was nothing to write home about....My boyfriend's sweet potato fries were undercooked. Our wait took somewhere around 45 minutes and then after taking 15 minutes to eat we were there for an hour! After a while I started to time how long we were waiting. Someone at our table heard another table complain and got the impression there may be a new cook? Nothing was ever explained nor were we apologized to. As our frustrations were increasing and our time in this town was limited I watched our server more carefully. We sat there clearly annoyed and our male server, who was standing by a woman at the register while she counted money/receipts, finally asked how we were doing. We were not checked on after receiving our food, which is a big no-no. I said I needed a box and a container lid. He said okay and a couple minutes later I saw him cleaning dishes. I grabbed the blonde middle aged woman who seemed to be an owner or boss and told her that we had been waiting a while. I tried telling her more but she wouldn't even stop walking or even look at me! I told her I needed a box and lid. While I was still mid sentence she was walking away from me. I wanted to tell her about how long we waited and that our fries were undercooked but it seemed like she didn't want to hear it. So overall, you should probably go somewhere else.

The mullet mongrel server explifies this could-be-charming but ain't joint. The feel is "ick" the decor is bland, the food is savagely mundane. Avoid.

We love this place. It exemplifies small town and the food is very good. You must try the huevos rancheros!! Friendly service every time and also friendly patrons!

Uh, ordered the salmon plate...unfortunately it was really overcooked. I also had the Cole slaw as a side and unfortunately disappointed by that as well - it was too runny for my taste. Don't think I'll be back for their dinner menu. I haven't done their breakfast - maybe that'll be better.

In town for work and stopped by for lunch. Got the smasher (quarter pound burger) and fries, and my Co-worker ordered the reuben with onion rings... Both were good and what you would expect at a hometown cafe. The service was normal (or even a bit quicker) than a typical sit down restaurant. The refills on drinks arrived before you could see the bottom of the jar.

Service was good. Food was decent. Definitely has a "homestyle" feel. I'll certainly be back.

It's like being at granny's, nothing fancy but delicious homestyle cooking in an atmosphere that make's you feel at home. I'd come here just to enjoy the salad bar because it was so fresh and had supreme toppings. "Daily Specials" come with dessert. Staff was super friendly and on their toes.

Solid food and pleasant service. Food is on the slower side so don't come if you're in a hurry. Seems to be a preferred lunch spot of the locals. Definitely a small town mom and pop type joint. Our waitress was sweet and they all seemed to work together to get food out and keeps drinks replenished. I got the cod fillet and homemade chips which were good. My parents got bison burgers and seemed pleased. Beware that the bison takes a little longer (noticed the table that ordered right after us got their regular beef burger a bit sooner). I like that they put all the fixings on the burger plate so you can make it to your liking. Peanut butter pie slice was huge but too rich for any of us. I heard their blueberry pie is where it's at and must be true because they were all out! Oh and breakfast all day. I'm always a fan of that :)
