If you are traveling through Fairplay, I HIGHLY recommend stopping here at this small town hole in the wall local joint. An employee at Prather's Market in Fairplay recommended it so my family decided to try it. I had the linguini and meatballs. The meatballs were fresh and homemade. The marinara sauce was outstanding. It comes with a soup/salad and all the bread you want. I had the chicken vegetable soup and it hit the spot on a cool summer night. My brother had the chicken spinach pizza and it was huge and delicious. We were able to watch the Rockies game and the service was excellent. Would recommend to any traveler!!! Can't wait to visit again.

We just came into this restaurant at 7:30 and they say they close at 9. They said it would be 20 min and we found seats at the bar, then a server came out and rudely informed us that their manager has decided they are closed now. I suggest next time you at the very least be nice and sincere that you are turning us away. It would also be smart of the manager to have delivered this news rather than sending a front line employee out and blaming it on someone that we can't see. I wish I could say how the food was but their customer service was so bad we didn't even get to that point.

Should you be hungry for some great dinner while in and around the area of Fairplay, then Millonzi's should definitely be on your list. The ambiance is very nice inside, a mix of classic sports bar and fine dining. The bar has some great sports memorabilia, and a flat screen for the Broncos and Avalanche game. The dining room has some beautiful classic oil paintings which add a very nice touch to the place. We recently had a new item on the menu, the tri-tip served with polenta and asparagus and it was absolutely delicious. The polenta was perfectly cooked, the asparagus was nicely done with a hint a crispness, but still had a well cooked bite to it, and the tri-tip was out of this world. A nice dry rub added, and grilled over open flame and had a nice reddish pink center to it. Absolutely delicious. The cheesecake is as New York as you can get, served with fresh strawberries. Also on the menu is Millonzi's A-special, the homemade lasagna. It reminds me of what an Italian mother would serve at home. Topped with some perfectly seasoned tomato sauce, and fresh mozzarella cheese. An absolute treat! The owners Tim and Jennifer as fantastic hosts, so welcoming and warm and they make everyone feel like they are family. Keep up the great work guys! I will be returning each and every time that I am in town. Two thumbs way up!

I have given this place three chances and it's officially the worst restaurant in Fairplay. The first two times I ate here the food was absurdly overpriced. The quality was purely amateur and undeveloped. I expect a decent meal for $20+ a plate, city or small town. I decided to give them one more chance and after waiting ten minutes for somebody to even take a drink order I just gave up. The only staff I ever saw were teenagers, the girl at least grabbed me a water but they never went to find a waiter... Save yourself the trouble and head across the street to South Park Steakhouse where the food is awesome and the staff is competent!

Millonzi's is a nice Italian restaurant just down the street from the South Park City museum in Fairplay, Colorado. The service was pleasant and timely, even though our party arrived at a late hour for lunch. We also arrived in staggered groups, but this was all met with a smile and a genuine caring attitude. Once seated, drink orders were placed and we perused the menu. The menu is simple, but not simplistic. A variety of sandwiches were had and everyone reported back being satisfied. The bread was a standout feature for me on my chicken salad sandwich. It was a light sourdough with just the slightest toughness to the crust. I had the lemon sorbet with candied ginger as a dessert and I was blown away by this dish. Thanks Millonzi's, we'll be back.

Having just summitted four peaks in six hours, we had succumbed to altitude sickness. The most logical and rational thing we could do was drive into the nearest town to heal ourselves the best way we knew how: gorging on delicious food. Our waiter was great and most definitely entertained by my buddy, who ordered 5 extra helpings of watermelon. The food was well done and definitely hit the spot. Good, chill atmosphere and a nice place to wind down after some strenuous hiking for some sea-level dwellers.

Very disappointed by the patronizing attitude of both server and manager. Absolutely will not be returning-- stay away unless you want mediocre food and less-than mediocre service.

As a city girl, I'm not too often in little towns the size of Fairplay, so I didn't expect to see such fine dining in this town. This place sure sticks out when you drive down the street. It has a very elegant feel amongst many old, historic western-type buildings. I only came here for dessert and wine. I wish I would have had room for dinner because the menu looked appealing. For dessert, I had a chocolate dipped cannoli. Since I've lived in New York City, ate at some great Little Italy restaurants and lived with true Italians, I have very high expectations for my cannolis. This one certainly met my expectations. It was just as good as any I'd find in New York City. Also, it was a very reasonable portion size for a reasonable price. I'd like to come back in summer - the back deck overlooks a small lake and a gorgeous view of the mountain range. (See pictures, ignore the snow/ice!) If I ever find myself in Fairplay again, this would be the first place I'd stop for dinner because at least from what I saw on other people's plates, the food looked delish. We had a very friendly waitress too.

This restaurant is a surprise. It could survive in the big city. The chef has talent, but is a little rough. Presentations could be improved - the home cured pork tasted great, but needed to be presented on something. The wedge salad was over prepared - the basalmic glaze was an interesting twist to this simple dish but unnecessary. Mains were good. Desserts was really tasty but over sauced. But you are in FairPlay, not Rush Street or North Beach. Our waitress was the owners daughter. Perky, attentive, and attractive, it won't be long before some hedge fund manager takes her off on his Harley.

It is common sense for all restaurant/bars owners and those that work for the owners not to turn away business. On Thursday, August 1, 2013, we attempted to go to Happy Hour at Millonzi's. Millozoni's had a board outside of their establishment that advertised Happy Hour started at 4:00 p.m. We walked in at 3:55 p.m. and were turned away by a rude hostess/worker who told us that Happy Hour didn't start until 4:00 p.m. When we told her it was only 5 minutes before 4:00 p.m., she told us THEIR clock said it was 8 minutes before 4:00 p.m. (3:52 p.m.) and we needed to come back at 4:00 (their time, which was off). REALLY, come back or stand around outside until you are ready to let us in? You really didn't want or need our money? There may not be many bars in Fairplay but we found one who was happy to serve us and take our money. Don't waste your time a business that can't be bothered by paying customers!

I am shocked by the 5-star reviews for this place. We did choose to eat there based on them and were horrified by one of the worst dining experiences our family has had. We arrived on a Wednesday, when most of the other options in town appeared to be closed. It was busy and service was slow. The environment is an odd combination of sports bar and small-town-imitaton of a metropolitan restaurant. There are Christmas lights in the windows in August, hockey sticks on the wall next to canvas posters from Target. It's a bit wonky but interesting to look at, for sure. The sanitary practices are questionable. We were handed unwrapped straws from the same hand that was holding the dishrag used to clear and wipe down tables. There was a long curly hair in the appetizer of a color that no one in our party had, and subsequent requests to change our order were flat-out denied (we had not yet been served when we requested this change). It took an hour to get our orders. Our food was undercooked, cold, dried out around the edges. Plates were priced from $14-35 for the entrees. The wine selection was a series of wines you can pick up at Walmart for $5-10 per bottle. My advice? Skip it. There's a convenience store on the main highway into town with friendly cashiers and truck-stop food that knocks this stuff out of the park. You're going to be stopping there anyway for the bathrooms after you eat at this place. Or just drive to Denver and try a real restaurant for these prices. The combination of miserable food quality, metropolitan prices, and horrific service made this experience so bad that "we can always go to Millonzi's" has become a running joke in our travel group.

I'm not even sure where to start with this review. Maybe with being seated on the patio during a rainstorm - there's only one table that doesn't get wet, and it's the one directly in the middle. The waiter set us up with a heater but it ran out of fuel within a couple of minutes, so we took a table in the bar area. The night we were there, the deep fryer was broken and the restaurant was out of every other appetizer except the bruschetta, which was a resounding barely OK. It took an hour from when we sat down until we got our entrees. Their house special (braciole) should have been tasty, but was really just sort of a lump of meat covered in what I think was the same red sauce on my son's spaghetti. Neither the pasta nor the gnocchi was made in-restaurant, which makes the wait time for the food that much more baffling. All in all, I think we could have gotten faster, tastier food if we'd driven the 30 miles into Breckenridge.

Food was good. My friend raved about the putanesca but the service was lousy. I don't know if it's because we came in near closing time but the server had a poor attitude and was not very accommodating. Might be good for take out.

My mom and I had a good lunch here on a recent trip in Colorado. They were pretty quiet on Sunday, but the food was good and hearty, which is what you're looking for on a cold, windy October day of hiking and driving. The servers were very nice and attentive, bathrooms were clean. The decor in there was kind of random, but in the sense that it was probably just stuff that the owner liked. I can only speak for breakfast/brunch/lunch, but I'm sure it's good for dinner too.

Our Eggplant Charleston was good. Wouldn't recommend the Calamari, but that is a no-brainer in the mountains of Colorado. Our guests Muscles were rated 4 stars. It is undoubtedly the best place to dine in Fairplay, evenings.

Great experience! We found Millonzi's on Sunday evening in Fairplay. We loved the small plates (roasted asparagus, bruschetta, meatballs, caprese) and soup. Everything was flavorful and generous portions. One member of our party had chicken picatta which was perfectly prepared. Nice wine selection. Our hostess Jennifer was very friendly and even helped with a transportation challenge. We were very happy to find Millonzi's open on Sunday evening because many of the restaurants were closed for Sunday evening dinner service. Prices were very reasonable for the quality of food and portion size. We will definitely eat there again on our next visit to Fairplay!

Stopped by for a late lunch last week, there were two other tables occupied. Took over an hour to get food after we ordered. Food was cold when it was served. Wasn't given an opportunity to order a second beer. Had to ask for napkin and utensils. When I asked about the delay was told it the kitchen's fault. Definitely not going back.

Nobody likes watery noodles. I wasn't expecting much from an Italian restaurant in a quiet mountain town in Colorado. That's why I got something REALLY simple. Meatballs, fettuccine and marinara sauce. Simple enough dish for an "Italian" restaurant right? The pasta was straight from the box and looked as if it was put immediately onto the plate out of its boiling water bath. The whole bottom of the dish was swimming in a half inch of water. This didn't help the bland marinara sauce and even blander meatballs thrown on top. If I wasn't starving from skiing all day, I probably wouldn't have eaten it. The fondue app and caesar salad weren't very good either. Kind of expensive too.

We have been going here since they opened ...? years ago! They have always been consistent and great. I especially love their salads for lunch and usually fish for dinner. My pasta loving friends love their raviolis and lasagna. It's a classy place in a quaint small town.

Wow having lived in South Park for 20 plus years this was a pleasant surprise. Great service, interesting well prepared menu. Highly recommend and hope Millonzi's survives in town where a McDonalds in 1988s would have been considered expensive elegant cuisine. We and our guests enjoyed all our selections. With brick decor the noise level can be above average but not excessive. The interior is understated yet elegant. We will return our guests from Frisco also plan to return.

Great find in rural Colorafo. Fish speciality of the night was tasty with a good presentation. I ordered several tapas... Asparagus with bacon..,crostini with goat cheese and fresh tomatoes and basil, and an appetizer of calamari. All were we'll prepared, and very flavorful. Kids.., ordered pasta with parmesan and butter and grilled cheese. Grilled cheese came out in ciabatta -like roll.. Kid not a big fan cause it was "too tall". The pasta was fine. Service was good, attentive waitress, table items cleared as we finished. We'll go back if we are in Fairplay again.

Took my wife here for our anniversary dinner. Food was a 7 out of 10. I had the ravioli and it was kinda bland. She had the salmon an it was cooked perfectly. Very tasty on the salmon. The only real turnoff was that it was on a Wednesday And there were only 3 tables sitting but we had to wait 45 mins for our food. I would go back if I had like 2 hrs for dinner.

Nice place in Fairplay, have always had friendly good service, good drinks, good food. Atmosphere is great. Very nice for Fairplay and the hours are consistent! We own vacation land near here so have been in before. Just was there this past Saturday night, group of 4. The Calamari app & fried artichokes were good, The Eggplant Parm was great, not greasy, not mushy like some places, & one of us had the Bracioli (never had heard of before) which is rolled Chorizo with Prosciutto inside beef was AWESOME & different, another guest had rib eye NY steak with s/blue cheese topping. & , it was pretty good, another the Ravioli on a bed of spinach, of which she enjoyed. The resturant was pretty busy, but still had attentive service. Wine was good as well. We would & have gone back to Milonzi's. (have been here like 5 times in the last few years). Also remember, there are not that many nicer restaurants in Fairplay.

We love Millonzi's, best restaurant for miles around, hands down. Love the ravioli Mollonzi's, lasagna, meat balls, well, most everything we've had has been outstanding. Had the espresso chocolate pie tonight, fantastic. Good service, family owned, nice deck. Go there, you won't be sorry.

Great little Italian place in a small mountain town. I had the special which was cheese tortellini with shrimp and it was the bomb! The bread and wine was wonderful. Service with a smile! Please go and support local business - you won't be disappointed!

I have just had the worst dining experience of my life at this restaurant. My husband and I waited for 30 minutes before we were even acknowledged by our waiter and then 20 minutes after our order were told that they were out of the daily special. also after 1 hr and 20 minutes we still had no drinks. My husband had to ask for our drinks after finally our appetizer arrived. I have a 2 year old and after almost an hour and a half of sitting with no food or drink she was ready to go so we left without being served. This place doesn't even deserve one star. The customer service is awful. The food may be decent, but the lack of customer services makes this place a thumbs down/ Don't waste your time or money. On another note they do not have a child menu. what kind of place doesn't have a child menu?

We drive to Fairplay every Friday en route to our place in the mountains. Stopped at Millonzi's for dinner as we were hungry and didn't want to cook. The food was ok and the service on par. My wife had a shrimp appetizer. It didn't sit well in her belly and she threw it up about 1 mile from town. My son and I had a good meal and will try it again to see if a different dish sits better with my wife.

Our favorite place in Park County for dinner! They always have a great selection of food. Their Happy Hour is incredible and you have to try their tapas. Ask what the specials are and those never disappoint. We drive about 30 minutes to get there so you know it's good! They have a decent wine menu and a good selection of brew. The view off of the back deck is a must see - especially at sunset. Have not had a bad meal here yet......and we have probably eaten here 10 times.

We've eaten here a few times and have always enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. My husband's all-time favorite is easily the flat iron steak with garlic and blue cheese. I really enjoy the lasagna, and we both like the meatball pizza. While the prices are a bit higher than most of the other places in town, you get what you pay for. I travel to many large cities around the country and would not be afraid to show off Millonzi's to any visitors - the quality of the food ranks with many of the fancy places in the big towns... and it's right here in little ol' Fairplay.

Ok, this place is the best in the world. This was my first time here. I was on a Motorcycle/Spyder ride with my cousin and he wanted to come here for dinner. He had been here before and highly recommended it. I am here visiting for a couple of days from the San Francisco area and I was very impressed with everything. The town, the restaurant itself, and really the food and dessert. We sat at the bar and ate and got a chance to visit with some of the staff/personnel. Being from the Bay Area, I do get out alot to upper casual and fine dining restaurants. Millonzi's is at the top of my list. I had Olives to munch on before dinner, a bowl of the Roasted Red Pepper Soup, and the Prawn and Polenta entré. I couldn't readily decide what to have for dessert from the menu because a they would've all been really good. You can tell by the descriptions under each. So I decided on the bread pudding. It was one of the best I've ever had. There are many versions of alot of foods and I love the way they make it happen here. The restaurant's owners are a husband and wife team that are present and running the business, which to me is very good to see. There is seating in the bar area and another larger room adjacent to the bar has more dining area. The atmosphere is very pleasant and not noisy. Thank you for reading, please go and give it a try. I will be back the next time I'm in town. Nick

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
