If you are in need of a caterer, look no further. I just threw a large party in my home (over 100 guests) and I can't say enough about the great job done by Occasions by Sandy. From the first conversation with Jeremy months ago, to the silent exit of the staff after the party, the experience was wonderful. They are attentive, creative and accomodating -- not just about the menu and food, but any aspect of the party I needed assistance with. Katie was a joy to work with and even finished putting my flowers together herself. All my guests raved -- the food looked beautiful, tasted delicious and the service was exceptional. Dirty plates and glasses were whisked away before I even saw them. And at the end of the night, left-overs where put away, dishes, glasses, tables and linens broken down and stacked in the garage. You couldn't even tell there had just been 100 people eating and drinking there. I sincerely thank Jeremy, Katie and the entire staff for helping to make my party extra memorable and allowing me to enjoy it myself!

September 11, 2010 Occasions by Sandy catered our wedding. We worked with Joshua. He was very well educated in the catering business. We felt so comfortable working with him. He was easy going. Their food was Amazing and we felt we couldn't go wrong with the food we chose. Our wedding was just around 52 people, but we felt like he took care of us as if we were having a much larger event with lots of people. We never felt like we were too small for him to care. We always felt like we were on the top of his list. During the event, Joshua was perfect at getting everything in order and he was always checking on us (bride and groom) to see if we needed anything to drink or eat. He made sure we got some appetizers and we were served dinner first at our table. The servers and bartender were awesome and took care of everyone at our wedding. We couldn't have asked for anything better. I would Highly Recommend Occasions by Sandy to anyone and everyone. The customer service and food was nothing but the BEST. Thank You Joshua for making our wedding so memorable. Kim and Daryl

We didn't want wedding food at our wedding - we wanted real food, that people actually enjoyed eating! I have to be honest, I was put off by the "Occasions by Sandy" name, I imagined an old lady making pot pies in her kitchen, but I couldn't have been more off. We visited three caterers, and we were blown away by the food here. Their service was amazing throughout the entire process and did I mention the food was amazing? The appetizers during the cocktail hour had people running up to me saying, not "congratulations on the biggest day of your life," but "did you try those little grilled cheese sandwiches and tuna ice cream cones? damn!" They accommodated our last-minute menu changes like champs and were really good to all our guests. We did have a little organizational snafu with the buffet set-up, so I would recommend double checking everything before the event, but in the grand scheme of things we were very pleased. Check these guys out, their prices were better than many of the "elite" caterers in town and as far as we were concerned, their food was far superior.

If you have a budget that you'd like to stay within, while still providing your wedding guests with a meal they'll enjoy and remember, I might not recommend this particular catering company. For our wedding reception, I shared our budget, our vision of funky and fun with food that tasted great, they came back with the most boring menu I'd ever seen: chicken breast, seasonal vegetables, caesar salad and rolls. When I said I was hoping for something a little more eclectic, they came back with a pasta bar suggestion. I don't know how other folks might feel about eating a giant bucket of pasta at a wedding, but I feel like it might weigh folks down for the dancing part! :) We ended up choosing a different caterer who better shared our vision and our fun spirits!

SUPER organized and easy to work with! Even though they most often cater big events like weddings and bar/bat mitzvahs, they did a great job on the small party I hired them for. We did a selection of appetizers (we LOVED the thai chicken meatballs) and dessert shots (key lime and brownie, yum!). I'd hire them again in a nanosecond.

I recently collaborated with Occasions Catering for a rad James Bond-themed styled bridal shoot at a wedding expo and was so impressed by the team! Their creations were perfect for our 1960s Goldfinger theme and they were so delicious. I can't wait to work with this group of pros in the future. Can't recommend them enough!

I wish I could give Occasions 6 stars! They were phenomenal. The food was incredible and the Occasions team was exceptional. Holly and Brandi were a dream team - they helped me plan the menu, coordinate the liquor, order the linens, and even set everything up! They were definitely my point people for getting everything done. They went above and beyond and I cannot thank them enough for making my wedding the perfect weekend :) Also, on the food front - we tested three different caterers (Catering by Design, Footers, and Occasions) before going with Occasions. Their food was by far the best tasting - and the cherry on top, they were the most reasonably priced. Our menu consisted of crab cakes, fried green tomato BLTs, steak au poivre, sea bass, etc etc. I was a little worried that food that tasted great when prepared as a tasting for two people would not hold up when prepared en masse for 100 guests, but Occasions proved me wrong. The food was phenomenal and all of our guests raved about how delicious it was and how elegantly it was presented. Love love love! I will be a client for life!

Our caterer was the real star at our wedding. Everyone was so impressed with the quality of the food, the hustle of the staff, and the over-all service that they provided. I was a hard sell on the cost of a catering company and paying for all of the services, but by the end of my experience with Occasions, I wish I had let them plan the entire thing. Jeremy, one of the owners, is one of the most professional and straight forward people that we dealt with in this whole process. He really knew what he was doing, let us have our crazy ideas but explained the reality of the situation, and always answered our questions. I can only expect that the people who work for him are held to the same expectations. We really appreciated occasions and the wonderful event they threw for us. We couldn't be happier.

I recently hosted a rehearsal dinner for my son at the Denver Botanic Gardens. Occasions is one of DBG's four approved caterers. I am delighted that I selected them. We had 60 people and, as is often the case, I had a limited budget. My event coordinator, Michelle, couldn't have been more forthcoming with budget friendly advice,. She answered all my questions with full disclosure of administrative fees, etc. She also helped me coordinate with the table and linen rental and alcohol provider, and helped me with some inexpensive centerpieces. More important, my guests raved about the food and the service. We had a Colorado picnic style dinner: fried chicken, barbecued brisket, grilled vegetables, Palisade peach salad and cheddar smashed potatoes. Dessert shots finished the meal. All of it was delicious. (At our tasting, the potatoes had been a bit gummy. Michelle spoke to the cook, and at the dinner, the potatoes couldn't have been better.) Also, I had one 6 pack of special beer for my mom. Our fantastic bartender hid it with a towel and gave no one else access. The staff happily accommodated a last minute request to rearrange the tables, which allowed me to relax and enjoy the food and company. In short, yummy food and great service! HIghly recommend.

First of all, this review is for the customer service I received when trying to hash out the details for my reception dinner - not the actual food/service at the event (because that hasn't happened yet). I contacted Occasions over a week ago with regard to my reception dinner (was told I'd have a response by the end of last week, still haven't heard from them). I have a very clear idea of what I want the menu to look like (grilled chicken breast, seasonal vegetables, roasted potatoes, a grain salad, cheese plate, rustic bread, etc.) and how I want it executed (family style or buffet). All was rainbows and butterflies until we got to the part about renting dinnerware ($4/person) and I let Jeremy know that I would be buying everything from various thrift stores and then donating it after the reception. He rattled off a list of questions like, "What are you going to do with it after dinner? How are you going to get it back to your place?" and a bunch of other questions that alluded to the fact that he thought it was a silly thing to do. And maybe it is, but it's my wedding and I'm not going to pay $500 to rent dishes when I can support the local community by buying/donating everything once all is said and done. The other issue that came up was when I opposed an after-ceremony hors d'oeuvres passing because the dinner will literally be 30 minutes after the 20-30 minute ceremony has ended. Jeremy made a few snide comments about that being a HUGE problem because guests probably won't be "smart enough" to eat before the ceremony and "They're going to be hungry and grumpy" and blah, blah, blah. Are they really? Or are you just fishing for a way to make more money? Now that this has gotten far too long, I'd recommend finding someone who isn't trying to get as much $$$ out of you as they can. I understand the company needs to make money, buy trying to force someone - with a very clear vision - to change their mind because you're insanely greedy is a quick way to lose customers. Like me.
